Paracosm flag template

Definition: A paracosm is an imaginary world. Typically a paracosm is quite developed and may have its own imagined geography, laws, people, places, customs, history, language, etc. A famous example of a paracosm is Middle Earth. You do not have to be a maladaptive daydreamer to have a paracosm. (Definition taken from this post about MaDD terms).

This flag is supposed to be used for those who want to make flags for any of their paracosm's for any reason (for example a flag for a mermaid paracosm, a medieval paracosm, ect).

This flag is intended for those with Maladaptive Daydreaming, and/or Immersive Daydreaming. However, anyone with a paracosm can use it.

This is not a gender, tags are for reach!

Activities to do with your daydreams/paracosms while regressed

As a regressor with MaDD, I sometimes find it hard to engage with my daydreams while regressed, but it is a lot of fun once you have a plan.

Activities

Make a playlist - I like to make them for my daydream characters, using music they would listen to while regressed.

Dress up as someone from your daydreams - You can do what's known as a casual cosplay, I like to use this as an excuse to play dress up!

Draw your daydreams - If you can't draw, I would recommend using piccrew to create your characters. If you wanted to draw the world you can use the sims or minecraft!

Make a pokemon team - There are many websites you can do this one but we like this one and on this one you can make a trainer card!

Create a paracosm where your characters are age regressors - This can be whatever you want! We like the assignment AU for a bit of angst

Writing about your paracosm - I would write about what they are within a regression based AU.

Play pretend - You can do this in many ways, you could pretend to be a character from your daydreams, or pretend they are with you! Please stay safe while doing this though.

Make some food that your daydream world may have, or food that your daydream characters would like while small - This is pretty self-explanatory, but please stay safe while cooking!

Make an aesthetic, icons or stimboard - These are very fun to make! Remember to credit the original posters of GIF's, flags and images too!

Create an information page - You can use many things for this! You can use a document, notion, rentry, a neocities page or others. It may not be easy to do while regressed but we love making things like this!

Autocosm: a plural network of selves, each existing in their own dimension/reality/universe, all of which share a soul and/or a sense of "self"-ness with one another. There is a central self, called a metasoul or metaself, from which all other selves, called lunen, are derived from in some way.

Extended definiton/extra notes:

The metasoul exists in a realm called the soulscape, which functions similarly to a headspace or paracosm, in that it can vary in size, structure, visibility, stability, etc. It can also have different areas or be split into multiple connected realms.

The metasoul's consciousness extends to all lunen, and they are able to sense, feel, and remember everything their lunen do. Metasouls do not do anything equivalent to "fronting" but their presence in the lunan's consciousness, and the lunan's awareness of their presence, can vary. They may or may not be able to communicate outside of the soulscape. Not all lunen know they are a part of an autocosm, but the metasoul is aware of all lunen.

Lunen may or may not be aware of one another and cannot communicate directly. However, there is an inherent connection between all lunen that drives them to become aware of one another, and possibly experience parts of one another's lives in a manner akin to memories. Lunen may be able to communicate with each other in the soulscape, via the metasoul relaying messages, or not at all.

The soulscape can be accessed by lunen through various methods, such as meditation, reality shifting, dreaming, or other altered states of consciousness. The metasoul may also "summon" a lunan to the soulscape, and some lunen may be able to access it without effort or be connected to it at all times.

Beings other than the metasoul may inhabit the soulscape. These are called habitans. Habitans can be of any appearance, personality, or level of sapience. The origins of habitans vary; they can be created by the metasoul, spontaneously form in the soulscape, or originate from somewhere else. Habitans may or may not be considered part of the autocosm. They are not a part of the "self" the autocosm is based on, but they do inhabit it nonetheless. Not all soulscapes have habitans.

Autocosms may have different origins, although a spiritual aspect is inherent due to the concept of souls being integral. This spiritual aspect need not be focused on or considered important to the identity, though, and other aspects (such as psychological) can be present. Lunen also have different origins; they may be created willfully by the metasoul, be split off from them, spontaneously emanate, etc. (Do not use -genic terms unless you also identify as a system, I coined -genesis as an alternative term grouping for non-system alterhuman origins, you can coin those as you see fit).

As the concept mirrors aspects of many other alterhuman and plural identities, it is possible for autocosms to identify with those as well. Autocosms can be systems, lunen can be godshards/othershards, metasouls can be archetropes, soulscapes can be hearthomes, habitans can be thoughtforms, etc. The only identities autocosms incorporate inherently are plural and alterhuman. However, as they are variations of one self, it is common for lunen and metasouls to be kin with one another.

Oh my stars, this is the most complex term I've ever coined. I'm so happy to finally be able to express my alterhuman identity in a more specific way though, so it was well worth the time and effort! Could you do a trans flag for being every character/having a whole world from a media in your head after watching it/getting attached?? Let me see if we can word this better-

For example. Say someone watched the owl house, they *really* connected deeply to it- whether this be for spiritual reasons, gender reasons, kin reasons, trauma reasons, plural reasons whatever- and they either become an embodiment of the media/world of the media/every character, or they gain the media/world of the media/every character in their head like an inner world or paracosm or something of the sort.

I feel this doesn’t make much sense at all and i apologize, i will go in depth if i need to- but a possible name could be ‘trans omni media embodiment’ or be made of those words.

A gender which feels like or is influenced by hares, wild rabbits, and cryptid rabbits. A gender which is nonhuman, impulsive, wild, fast, and always on watch for danger. This gender is not cute, domesticated or contained by humans.

This gender is intended for rabbit, hare, and cryptid rabbit individuals who find "bunny" or "bun" genders too soft and underestimating of your true nature.

Just opening this by saying I'm open to discussion about this and if you disagree with me, this is one of those few moments when I'm willing to hear you out. I would like my mind changed to be completely honest.

My biggest unpopular opinion is that unfortunately in my heart of hearts, I sympathize with Anne Rice's position on fanfiction and while I don't agree with what she did to fanfic authors, I understand the emotions she had about fan fiction and I understand why it was deeply upsetting for her to see people writing about characters that she poured her heart and soul into, effectively taking them for their own.

I really felt it when she said something along the lines of "Just make your own characters and stories please"

I also don't understand how this is an unpopular opinion. I don't understand why people think that it would not be at least a little upsetting to some authors to see certain fan fiction content of their work.

For some authors they aren't just characters. They are deeper than that and it feels really scary to share a story or share art, Knowing deep down someone may take it and rewrite it the way they want it to go, that they may write your person as someone they would never be. I think fan fiction is important because on the other hand, it must be such a joy to see people participating in your world and to not be the only writer of that world. but I really do struggle to see how fanfic writers don't get why people like Anne Rice have an issue with it. I can see both sides of this to be completely honest.

I don't share a lot of my paracosm that I'm from because I'm so afraid of someone kinning me. I really really don't want to be kinned. I don't want someone to introject me. I don't want someone to introject my friends and family. I don't want people to write about my friends and family doing things I don't imagine them doing, but there's nothing I can do about it if I share it.

When it comes to fanfiction I'm sitting on a fence and my ass hurts. Fanfiction is an important art form, I get why someone would see a piece of media and join in writing about the characters and contributing to the plot and yet I can't kick the voice in the back of my head saying why don't you just make your own? Why can't you just make your own? How isn't your own fiction not better than someone else's?

I used to have a superiority complex about this that I have been routinely questioning to pull apart and I still reach this roadblock where I can't ignore the fact that I do believe original content has more merit than fanfiction. I can't kick that. That's my opinion. But fanfiction has a place and should exist. That's as far as I've gotten

I'm also trying to make peace with the fact that sharing my story and artwork means that this might happen to me one day and I can't say or do anything about it. Because saying "hey I'm uncomfortable with fanfiction of my work" is like waving a flag saying hey please take my stuff to prove that I can't stop you. Like can we all at least understand why Anne Rice did what she did and not have animosity towards people who feel the same way about their own work? It just seems that I only ever see people saying that this view made her a bad person when it's really the lawsuits and how far she took those lawsuits that did.

You can't control the introjects people get. I know that. But the thought of someone introjecting me or my family stresses me out deeply and I think I'm allowed to say that???

Do I just say please don't ever show me or tell me if this happens to you?

I'm genuinely interested to hear people's thoughts on this. I'm sitting here willing to change my mind and I want my mind changed desperately because I'd like to share my work with the world.

I've just had trauma already with people grabbing at my characters that aren't even really characters but real people from my head that I know. I've had someone get intoxicated and pretend that they were one of my paras. Later that same year, when another alter introduced me to a server, someone immediately hopped out and was like "thinking about kinning this guy" and they backed off when I said it made me uncomfortable, but like holy shit it really can happen that easily.
