What do you think about pansmione?

Anon I love pansmione. They are a guilty pleasure! I’ve not engaged with them as a main pairing but I love them together whenever I’ve read them as a side pairing.

I can totally see them being an unlikely duo and bonding over experiencing similar things on different sides of the war. Both of them have to cope with their best friend changing because of people’s expectations, and there’s so many secrets and no one is ever transparent.

Hermione is obviously loyal to Harry as well as the ‘good’ but we see her perspective of things become less black and white. Pansy is the opposite where seeing Draco suffer makes her question if they’re actually doing the right things and she only wants to give up Harry to Voldemort because in her head that fixed it all

They both definitely help each other navigate the collapsing of life as they know it and what begins as an unlikely friendship is becomes so much more because all either of them is worried about is whether the other girl is alive and when do I get to see her again, even if it is on opposing teams, across the courtyard and Hogwarts. They both breathe a sigh of relief.

Zuko from ATLA would forever have the best development arc/redemption arc for me, not only because I love the show but because the way he questions himself about it all, the breakdown and the subsequent change of ideals/beliefs he had for years pushing all side, even his pride, in order to help the gaang??? I wish I was more eloquent about this but it’s been a while since I watched the show but I’m sure you get what I mean.

Jily (James x Lily)- 7/10 one of my favorite Marauders era ships and I think they're just cute together

Dorlene (Dorcas x Marlene)- 9/10 I really love this ship and its probably my favorite sapphic/nmlnm hp ships

Wolfstar (Remus x Sirius)- 8/10 I really loved this ship when first getting into the Marauders but after while I got a bit tired of it but that doesn't change the fact that I still like it and think they're cute together

Fralice (Frank x Alice)- 6/10 They seem cute together but I've never really gotten attached to their relationship

Remadora (Remus x Nymphadora)- 4.5/10 It's not a bad ship but I'm a bit uncomfortable with the age difference and think it was a bit rushed. I'm sure that if we got to see a bit more of it, it wouldn't be as bad.

hey tai. just finished reading Nicotine/Linger. wow, such a different take on pansy/hermione. I'm a bit obsessed now, wish it was longer bc, honestly, i could live inside this universe you created. can you share with us how you came up with the fic? x J.

Hello J! Thanks so much for your words and your interest in Nicotine/Linger (25K, E, Pansmione)!!! Of course I can share a bit about it with you.

So, for a really long time I'd been postponing writing a long pansmione. It's my fave wlw ship but I was completely blocked. So the @hpwlwbigbang came around and I decided I would make it happen! The first scene I wrote is not even in the fic anymore bc the plot kinda changed, but it was prompted by @onbeinganangel, she doesn't even know this. I asked for words as inspiration-prompts and she gave me a few. I started writing about them having kind of a disagrement in lil ol' Limerick, by Arthur's Quay and that was that, I decided I wanted to write a love story about them in Ireland. After this i blocked again.

Then, I went out with friends, got THOROUGHLY SHITFACED and woke up the next day in my bathroom whithout memories of what the fuck happened to me, in so much pain and had to go to the ER. I thought I broke a rib. guess what, is this scene familiar? lol

And that's how Pansy came back to me, and so did the inspiration. I didn't plot at all, I had scenes in my head and a vague idea of how I wanted the fic to FEEL LIKE. That's how I wrote it, I just let the inspiration and motivation guide me, no plot planned, no fixed idea, just loads of Limerick specific things because I felt like I needed to say my goodbyes to the idea of living there. To accept I'm not going back, so I wrote my love for the city in the fic.

Summary: Pansy has been living a slow Muggle life in Ireland for five years now. Hidden Gems by @violetclarity 

Violetclarity is another incredibly talented and underrated writer that should get more love and appreciation. Interestingly enough, I stumbled upon her Pansmione magnum opus first, and was utterly obsessed with it. That fic is actually responsible for pulling me into this ship when I started the blog in 2020, and I still remember screaming at @teacup-tai about how brilliant it was. I found her excellent Drarry works soon after and fell even more in love with her writing; those sensitive and feel-good love tales make for perfect bedtime reads and I especially appreciate “strengthen to stay” for promoting body positivity 💜 I found her Ginsy fics more recently and was once again completely blown away by her A+ femslash content - these are long-ish fics with interesting plots, top notch angst and a fascinating take on the characters, the levels of UST and emotional development are addictive! Christmas Eve and the Kisses Four (2018, E, 5.3k) - sweet friends to lovers get together with cheeky meddling kids (I love Scorpius!), domesticity and family Christmas feels.

Draco was determined to ignore Harry and have a good time at this Christmas Eve party, but with enchanted mistletoe in the mix, that was easier said than done.

Hogwarts 8th year, they were roommates, enemies to lovers, pining Pansy, internalized homophobia & coming out (Hermione), party games, lots of sexual discovery, happy ending!

Eighth year. Hermione's ready. She's going to study, have fun with her friends, and ignore her new roommate's obnoxious wanking habits. And alright, maybe she wouldn't be so annoyed with it if she'd had any good sex in the past. But that doesn't mean she wants Pansy Parkinson to teach her how to wank...does it? Read my rec here.
