ooc: did u know that plants can actually sense danger? they dont have nervous systems tho so they cant exactly feel pain, but they know its gonna happen. (sorry if yall already knew this, i just wanted to share)

ooc: Plants are able to sense danger through stimuli in the environment (including signals from other plants.)

They don’t feel pain as we understand them currently, (the answer gets a bit murky based on what you consider and we currently don’t have any evidence of plant pain.) but they experience a physiological stress response to danger and being eaten that involves sending hormones to other plants to alert them, as well as attempting to preserve the plant however way it can. They do however have the ability to feel sensations, which is very true (and how many plants protect themselves or capture prey.).

You’re very right tho! They definitely can sense danger (i double checked as I am not a plant biologist) I didn’t know that before but it makes sense
