So I've gotten 2 DMs asking for help from palistinians, but I'm honestly not sure what to do since I'm broke and living on welfare.
I depend on the siblings I live with to be able to afford to eat throughout the month, I used to starve back when I was living on welfare all on my own cause welfare is... not much.
Don't yet have disability bonus (hopefully in december), so don't have any extra to send yet.
~~~
I thought sharing their stories might help, hopefully!
I'm debating making a commission sheet even though I don't have the best track record when it comes to finishing artwork. But that way I'd be able to have some money on the side for donations (would post the receipts so ya'll know where it's going).
The donations wouldn't just be for those in Gaza. It would also be going to supplies for homeless people living near me/in my city.
There's a lot more tents around my neighborhood than when I first moved here.
A homeless man froze to death on the street right in front of my old work place during winter 2-3 years ago—I don't want that to happen again.
I want to make sure the homeless ppl in my neighborhood have what they need to make it thru the winter. So proceeds would be split half and half, I think? I'll need to do more research to say for sure.
I'll post some art of mine in a reblog of this post for those that are curious, and once my commission sheet is made I'll reblog it again with the sheet included.
Here's the information they sent me:
Hello 🖐
I am a amira from Gaza, the breadwinner for my sick mother in the midst of war and destruction. I want to leave the Strip and provide a decent life for them. I have created a donation campaign to achieve this. Can you help me achieve this please?
Save us! Save my child and my sick mother-in-law! 💔😭
My son, is suffering from severe infections, and my elderly mother-in-law is bedridden unable to walk after a coma caused by anemia.
Our health is deteriorating, and the bombing never stops. We have already lost many of our relatives and loved ones. 😢💔
All I ask for is a chance to save my family. We desperately need medication for my son and mother-in-law, costing $60 weekly, as well as blankets, clothes to keep warm, and food, prices of which have increased more than 10 times . I don't know what to do to save my family!😓
Please, help us as much as you can. 🙏🥺
I genuinely do not understand how people choose not to side with Palistine. Like bro this is an open book test and you are failing it.
Anyways free Palistine. Listen to Palistinian voices. Educate yourself. Donate if you are able. And spread the word please I am begging you!
Here is 1 starting point
https://www.pcrf.net/information-you-should-know/how-to-help-palestine.html
How To Help Palestine Palestine has been embroiled in a long-standing conflict with Israel for decades, resulting in a severe humanitarian crisis. The ongoing conflict has led to the displacement of millions of Palestinians, and the situation remains dire for those who are still living in the Palestinian territories of the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. If you're wondering how to help Palestine, there are several impactful actions you can take: Educate Yourself - The first step toward taking meaningful action to help Palestine is to educate yourself about the conflict and its root causes. Research and read about the history of the conflict, the current political situation, and the various cases of human rights abuse that have taken place. This will give you a better understanding of the issues at hand and help you identify the most effective ways to help. Advocate for Change - After you’ve educated yourself on the issue, you can help Palestine by advocating for political change. This can include writing to your elected representatives, signing petitions, and supporting political campaigns that promote peace and justice in the region. By using your voice to raise awareness about the issues facing Palestinians, you can help to bring about positive change. Stay Informed and Engaged - It's also essential to stay informed and engaged regarding the situation in Palestine. Follow reputable news outlets that cover the conflict, and stay up to date on the latest developments. By staying informed, you can continue to advocate for change and take meaningful action to help those who are affected by the conflict. Support Palestinian Businesses - Another important way to help Palestine is by supporting Palestinian businesses. By purchasing goods and services from Palestinian-owned businesses, you can help to support the local economy and promote economic growth in the region. You can find Palestinian-owned businesses online, or by visiting local markets and shops in your area that specialize in Middle Eastern products. Donate to Reputable Organizations - One of the quickest and most impactful ways to help Palestine is by donating to reputable organizations that provide humanitarian aid to Palestinians. Organizations like the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund (PCRF) provide vital assistance to those affected by the conflict, including food, shelter, and medical care. Your donation can go a long way in making a difference in the lives of those who are suffering. PCRF continues to provide humanitarian aid and medical relief to children and their families—some of whom are refugees fleeing their home countries—through our pediatric cancer departments, humanitarian aid programs and projects, pediatric mental health initiatives, hospital infrastructure projects, orphan and refugee sponsorships, medical sponsorships, treatment abroad program, and medical missions. These efforts help to ensure that children in need get the vital assistance they require. PCRF has a committee of volunteer doctors and specialists on our Medical Advisory Board who are dedicated to building up services through training, programs, and guiding PCRF to improve the quality of pediatric care in Palestine, Lebanon, and other areas in the Middle East. PCRF is not a political or religious organization. Our mission is to provide medical and humanitarian relief collectively and individually to Arab children throughout the Middle East, regardless of their nationality, politics, or religion. We rely on charitable giving to provide medical treatment, surgeries, safety, shelter, and support to children and their families in Palestine and the Levant. Find out how you can get involved and help make a difference in children’s lives today!
Today in my story, I will explain to you our suffering in this war, The first thing the occoupation did: cut off our water and all life priorities, we are really need.. water, food, medicine and certainly money in order to provide the necessities of life, we were exposed to famine and drought! , we can't buy good food for health, due to lack of money and very high prices! , we depend only on unhealthy canned goods that contain a large amount of preservatives , the diseases spread among us!"
https://www.gofundme.com/f/bethlehem-animal-rescue Hi, my name is Kyle. I’m a US citizen and an ex US Marine that works in Jerusalem and i am the Assistant Manager at the Bethlehem animal Rescue (the only rescue or shelter in all of Palestine) that is located in Bethlehem. I have been to A LOT of countries that have rough conditions and the animals here have some of the worst. We are in dire need of help and we have no one to turn to. The Palistinian government is trying to have it shut down. The shelter has had their water shut off (ordered by the palistinian government) for over 7 months. They hardly have any food, sometimes no food. And it is a struggle to even get them water. Finding funds is almost impossible due to the community not appreciating animals. I am hoping you can help with putting our name out there or helping create a revenue by donating of some sort so that people know we exist. We have about 30 cats and over 70 dogs that all have to share only a few kennels. Fosters are even extremely hard to get and we are running out of space and fear that these animals could have a terrible fate. Locals try to poison and shoot the dogs with the government doing nothing to stop them. The locals steal the dogs on a regular basis, and just shot 108 dogs in 14 hours. We need to build a new shelter. A comfortable and safe one so that these animals are safe and warm and away from any problems. These animals need so much help, and they aren’t getting any. I appreciate you taking the time to read this. Kyle G. Kibutzim and Palistineans
So im currently on kibutz Tsuba and some things have become apparent to me.
First, the main reason this kibutz has survived is because it has a bullet proof glass manufacture on site. This is sold to both israeli and us military.
Second, the kibutz members do not do the lionshare of work. Rather they pay others, often palistinians, to do things like food prep, cleaning, agricultural labor. (Cleaning also seems to be an exclusively female job)
As a side, palestineans seem to be regarded in a way similar to brown immigrants in america. That is that they are placed in low wage jobs and usually opperate behind the scenes. Simultaneously they are communally regarded as a threat.
From these two things to me it seems evident that kibutzim, or at least kibutz tsuba, has redefined the bougoise from individuals to an institution which individuals can buy into. This institution being the kibutz itself. The members of the kibutz may do some jobs that are often reserved for the proletariet but they collectively own the means of production and exploit the non member workers, they reserve voting rights of the kibutz, and provide no education or healthcare to non members (though they may do this for a price).
I do not know how it came to be this way or how it was at first. I just know that what i want to make does not fall into such pitfalls and that i want to help.
