Primal Food Log: What's for dinner? (food inspiration)
Roasted Salmon with Chili Oil glaze
Crustless Bacon (no nitrates), onion, portobello quiche
Garlic Sea Salt Green Beans
I was ravenous when I started prepping dinner as in eat the table while I'm at it. By the time I plated it - NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.  I couldn't eat anything.  I had enjoyed an incredible paleo smoothie earlier in the day and some leftover ribs from football Sunday, so I was hardly going to waste away.
My kids are Primal by proxy with standard american diet liberty outside of my sphere of influence.  My husband is onboard and actually spearheaded (sorry, bad pun) this whole transformation years ago.  At that time, it was the IT diet as in information technology... couch potato computer dwellers that needed to drop 60 to 80 pounds.
Anyway, the poll results were positive.  All plate contents were consumed even the 4 year old.  The 4 year old wasn't consumed, but "Mikey liked it!" if you remember the 80's Life cereal commercials.
I guess I need to get with the program and join everyone in 2014 by photo documenting my life!  I'll try to start taking pics.  I'm such a visual person!

Paleo snacks... for labour and beyond!
So, I am busy preparing for my impending labour, and have been told by lots of people that I need to take snacks with me to the hospital to keep my energy up during labour and after birth. 
Traditionally, many hospitals banned women from eating during labour, in case they need medical intervention, but in order to have a successful natural bith I believe that women should keep their energy up! There is also the risk that I may be in hospital during the night, when the cafe is closed (or open and only soggy sandwiches on sale).., plus my husband may need to eat too ;-)
I will hopefully stay at home as long as possible and snack on good fresh foods, but keen to have some non-perishables packed in my bag!

This doesn't just go for labour either, I really believe in snacking on good foods! 
So here is what I have come up with so far.....
Coconut water - excellent natural energy drink
Almonds (and possibly other nuts, yet to decide!)
Dried apricots
Dried figs
Beef jerky - hoping to find the least processed type I can...
Homemade paleo cakes/flapjacks (recipes to come!) 
If any paleo-eaters out there think of anything else, I would welcome suggestion! :-)
