Calling Padmé “stupid” for believing in Anakin’s goodness, never losing faith in him, for not believing OW when he told her of how the love of her life had fallen to the darkside, to go and confront Anakin herself and ask him for all she’d heard, then die with the unshakable belief that there was still goodness in him, only for her or be proven correct by the narrative itself all along really makes everyone who said this look completely illiterate and incompetent. Especially when it came to understanding her true character.

DO YOU KNOW WHAT WE NEED???!!????!!!?

A series (or even a book) that follows Padmé from when she learns she’s pregnant to like idk when she finds out Anakin’s back on Coruscant. Like I’m pretty sure Natalie Portman said in a relatively recent interview she’d be happy to return to Star Wars if they asked her to!

Make this series show more of her work in the Senate. Show her planting seeds of the rebellion (we were robbed when Lucas deleted those scenes from ROTS). Show her thinking of baby names and getting excited about being a mother. Show her fretting over Anakin’s safety. Of course include Anidala crumbs- them on holocalls, talking about anything and everything (and Anakin mentioning how Rex is helping him secure these calls with her 🥰🥰🥰). Show Padmé debating over telling Anakin she’s pregnant, and ultimately deciding not to- knowing it would distract him during battles and thus endanger him. Have her come this close 👌to telling him when he mentions something about wanting to start a family with her. Show Padmé interacting with her handmaidens more. Give Padmé a mission and show that even while pregnant she’s still a badass. Let her visit Naboo, and her family. OMG- show Palpatine noticing/sensing something is off with Padmé, eventually realising she is pregnant, then devising his plan to use this information to turn Anakin to the dark side.

I would DIE if we got this series. I miss live-action Padmé sm. Please, please, PLEASE Lucasfilm log onto Tumblr, find this post or other ones like it and decide to use our ideas. I’m begging 😭😭😭

(And in an end-credits scene show a newly suited Anakin visiting Padmé’s mausoleum, pouring his heart out to her and their ‘baby’, leaving flowers on her sarcophagus, literally being the biggest emotional mess in the galaxy. Then, after he slowly says something so heart wrenching- i.e. your love could’ve saved me…but I didn’t listen, I would take your place even if it meant losing you, I thought I became strong enough to save you, but maybe love is what would’ve saved you, idk still working on this bit- and after he walks away, the camera zooms out and shows a flower falling off the sarcophagus, or something like that 👀)

Sigh.

For International Womens Day, it felt only right that I finally complete a painting of the mother of the rebellion and Skywalker twins, Padmé Amidala. 💗

Vader is funny with outsider knowledge, for example titles, even though he doesn’t brag about them he doesn’t brag about anything and you’d assume Vader has pride (he does, just not for Sidiouses empire) and he lists all of his titles when asked

Person: who are you?

Vader: I AM DARTH VADER, LORD OF THE EMPIRE, SUPREME COMMANDER OF IMPERIL ARMIES, THE EMPERORS SECOND IN COMMAND BLAH BLAH BLAH…

But in reality the only titles he’s ever given himself are husband, father, mechanic, and pilot, which ties into power. Most officers of ranks as high as Vader are power hungry, not all of them, but most, so you’d assume Vader’s the same.

But we always forget Vader never wanted power?? Well, he wanted the power to stop his wife from dying (both by getting the rank of Jedi Master therefore more knowledge and joining Palpatine who promised to give him the power to save her) but there was manipulation there so it doesn’t count also it was only to power to save his wife, not to rule the galaxy or anything. He would’ve been happy being a house husband, maybe with a side job fixing up or building ships, but no, Palpatine made him into the Emperors Fist, the Jedi Slayer, I can’t think of any more names!

Alright so this is one of my Anidala headcanons that technically goes against canon/legends, but it's sort of on brand for Padmé so I just have to believe it. Here goes.

Padmé always says so much with her wardrobe. Every outfit is planned to make some kind of statement.

So I think it's absolutely hilarious how she always dresses very conservatively… UNTIL she's hanging out alone with Anakin in Attack of the Clones. On Naboo and Tatooine, she is constantly wearing outfits that show way more skin.

Now, I know that the Naboo are just extra as fuck with fashion, but I like to think she did some online shopping and subconsciously got a bunch of outfits that showed more skin because of her crush on Anakin.

Nobody will ever convince me that she owned any of these outfits before she learned about this trip. ("But in the comics she has some of these outfits before–" HUSH I don't care! I'm denial about it!)

The backless/shoulder-less lake dress?

The meadow dress with spaghetti straps showing off her shoulders?

The Tatooine belly-dress?

Don't even get me started on the far-too-tight "friendzone" dress.

As a woman who wears every outfit as a statement piece… she's practically screaming at Anakin to marry her.

SIDE NOTE – because this is necessary to say:

THIS DOES NOT MEAN SEXY CLOTHING IS CONSENT. Women wear sexy clothing for all sorts of reasons, such as:

Just wanting to feel sexy and confident for ourselves

To feel comfy – there are sexy clothes that are super comfortable, like leggings

To impress someone very specific, not necessarily YOU

Just because we like the style

The point is, sexy clothes are not, in themselves, an invitation. Anakin understood this, make sure you do, too.

it's kind of nice to imagine sabé and padmé smiling together like keira and natalie did in this behind the scenes photo. of course while one was costumed and performing as amidala it wouldn't be possible to be this casual, it's still nice to imagine them experiencing joy together, when the rest of their lives were marked by so much pain, you know? at least they shared joy first. sabé's persistent devotion in the comics suggests as much to me :(

Padmé clearly has a style and preference in clothing (love how it sort of reflects Vader too, hehe.) but I find it so interesting how for the AOTC dress, she had no need to remove the shawl she was so clearly wearing in the scene prior to reveal her deep neck corset alone in a room with Anakin 😂 nor did she even have any reason to pack such an attire (girl was on vacation.)

The other times she wore the same style of these dresses was when she was attending a party (clone wars adventures comic) and coming back from an opera (the clone wars series) but they’re not corsets as we can see 😏 that only means one thing.
