Hi guys,

We all know I love Colour Pop eyeshadow palettes and one of my favourite collections is the Star Wars collaboration. Colour Pop has designed eyeshadow palettes inspired by iconic Star Wars characters and recently I added 2 new palettes to my collection. Today we are chatting about the Darth Vader x Colour Pop Star Wars Eyeshadow palette , $16.00.

First of all can we appreciate the packaging! I Love how each palette in this collection looks so individual and clearly inspired by each character in the series. This Darth Vader palette "I have you now" quote below the mirror and has artwork of the character on the outer packaging. As for the colour story we can see a clear theme using cool tones and iconic Darth Vader colours. In this palette you get a mix of shimmers , mattes and metallic shades.

I played around with this palette and ended up with a totally different look to what I expected. Instead of a dark smokey eye I ended up with a metallic purple shift eye look after playing with the shades. Surprisingly this colour story is much more wearable than I expected and now I'm so excited I have added this to my collection.

Do I think Maul would have a friend group ? No. But it's time to open our hearts and and free ourselves from the shackles of common sense.

Anyway starting from the left, the togruta woman was a design I created nearly... 3 years ago ?? In my first fanart for the fic serie "how to..." (I think I named her Narla).

In the bg is my sw barbie ! In hommage to someone who said on my last maul drawing "I think Maul deserves barbie as a friend" (something along those lines-) and I think they are right so here she is !

And the last person is... The death stick guy from the second film gkgkfkoffk I could not resist not including him idkw. He seems to enjoy going to the club ? That's enough for me ! (Don't think of the timeline, for the love of god nobody think of the timeline-)

When I was doing sketches for this, I thought about one crutial detail I could not comprehensively include in the final image, so here it is : Maul and my togruta lady chose each other's outfits. He picked something he thought looked cool, she picked pink.

PS : the longer I was working on this piece the more Darth Maul was looking like a mean lesbian lhlgkgofok anyway if you want to interpret this image as trans mean lesbian Maul I won't stop you <3 (join me and my evil advisor in this delightful vision)

PSS : my only exposure to maul was though sw1, and half of the book 'maul lockdown' (that I remember nothing about-). I barely know this man, he is just the weird guy from sw I like to draw. (I obviously know other things about him, but only through fandom(tumblr))

Help My Family Survive and Find Safety in Gaza

Dear friends and merciful people

Imagine losing everything that is dear to you in one day. This is the harsh reality that my family is facing in Gaza. I am is Wael Alserr, and I communicate with you with a heart full of pain and a desperate call for help.

On July 28, 2024, my world crashed when my wife and daughter were tragically killed during an attack on the tent displaced in the safe areas of Muwasi Khan Yunis, as the Israeli occupation claims. Our family of seven has been destroyed - my wife , my only daughter and four son. Now, we are only five people, struggling to survive under horrific conditions.

Our home has been completely demolished and homeless. In addition, my father has the only source of income that supports us, as we have been displaced several times, and every transition strips us of stability and hope. One day the walls were safe, leaving the survivors' family in a temporary tent, holding on to hope amid their broken dreams.

We desperately need your support to survive and eventually evacuate from Gaza. Your donations will provide basic supplies, help us secure safer living conditions, and help evacuate efforts. Every contribution, no matter how small, will make a big difference in our battle for survival.

Hey guys,

We all know by now I have an obsession with Colour POP x Star Wars eyeshadow palettes. Colour Pop has released so many palettes inspired by individual Star Wars characters over the past 3 years and I adore their collection. While I have a lovely collection there was one palette I really wanted but was always out of stock .... until now! Today we are chatting about the Colour Pop x Star Wars Pressed Eyeshadow palette , $22.00.

Unlike the other palettes in the Star Wars collection this one is like a collective inspiration from all the series whereas the other palettes like the mandalorian being all grey tones, grogu being all green etc. When I first saw this palette I was really drawn to the metallic shimmers in the palette because the swatches were insane! But before we get into the shades I want to shout out the packaging because it looks like artwork, I love having this on display in my makeup room.

Now back to the shadows, you get 16 shades and the formulas vary from tie dye Super Shock, galactic Duo Chrome finishes, creamy Mattes, Matte Sparkle, shimmering Metallic to Ultra-Glitter finishes. It's insane how much you get in one palette truly! Like majority of Colour Pop palettes the shades are intensely pigmented, blend like a dream and create the most glamourous Star Wars inspired looked. In terms of colour stories I think you get a perfect balance or light and dark tones (like in the series) and if you're a fan of the movies you can work out which shades are inspired by which characters.

So if like me you're a Star Wars fan I would say this is great palette to add to your collections. As always all products mentioned in this blog post are linked above.

Today on 1am Star Wars thoughts, I have a gripe about the fandom’s gripes about Padme’s blue nightgowns.

Every time I see someone talking about them it feels like it’s always based on the assumption that we’re meant to believe that this is her normal sleepwear. That we’re meant to accept the premise of a woman sleeping with styled hair and a full face of makeup and a dress with strands of pearls on it as normal, everyday behavior.

But the thing is, I don’t think that’s necessarily the case. (I mean, maybe George thinks like that but there’s a whole team of people behind every costume you see on screen and the director is not the only one with input)

Because the thing is we’ve seen other instances of Padme’s sleepwear.

Twice in Attack of the Clones we get glimpses of her sleepwear but the scene where we get the best look is at the lake house where she is wearing a pretty but fairly normal looking nightgown with a dark blue robe over it. By the time the blue nightgowns come in we’ve already seen her in normal sleepwear. So… what changes between then and when the blue nightgowns appear?

She gets married and her husband goes to war.

I don’t think we’re meant to assume that she’s just suddenly in the last couple years developed a taste for extremely uncomfortable sleepwear. I don’t think those nightgowns are really sleepwear. Padme may fall asleep in them but she’s not putting them on to sleep, she’s putting them on to spend a rare night with her husband who is back from deployment.

It’s “welcome home” lingerie.

It’s quite conservative, this is technically meant to be a family friendly movie and besides they’re dealing with the logistics of Padme’s pregnancy so baring her midriff or back probably weren’t really options and they’d pretty solidly established a language for Padme’s costuming that doesn’t involve cleavage. But I think from an adult perspective we’re supposed to recognize that the married couple who have conceived a child are having sex. And are meant to be able to add up the facts provided and recognize that a young couple spending long stretches of time apart are may be spending the time they have together engaging in activities that sometimes result in Padme falling asleep in sexy, uncomfortable nightwear rather than changing into something more comfortable.

Anyway, that’s my personal opinion/headcanon. Padme does have comfortable nightgowns, we’ve seen them, she’s breaking out the space lingerie because her husband has been away and she’s missed him and she wants to enjoy their alone time before they have kids and that time gets even more limited.
