TOP 10 MYTHS ABOUT MOVERS – BUSTED!
From the process of hiring professional movers, a number of misconceptions cloud decision-making to produce unnecessary stress or possibly poor choices. Whether you are moving across town or relocating internationally, experienced movers can transform what might be an overwhelming experience into one that is smooth and hassle-free. Let's dispel the top 10 moving myths and help you get to the bottom of these common misconceptions.
1. Myth: Movers are too expensive.
Reality: Of course, there is a fee for hiring movers, but very often the value created by the hiring of them far outweighs whatever it costs. Professional movers bring experience, equipment, and resources that save time, avoid possible damages, and reduce stress. Many companies have different packages available to suit certain budgets so you would be able to find one to fit your needs without having to spend a fortune.
2. Myth: All moving companies are created the same.
Reality: Like any other business, movers greatly vary in competence, service offerings, and customer service. This implies doing one's homework on companies, reading reviews, and soliciting bids from more than one company or carrier. Quality movers will be licensed, insured, and enjoy a good reputation, and those that might be considered budget or unlicensed could cut corners and endanger your goods.
3. Myth: It's less expensive not to hire movers.
Reality: Most people are under the impression that a DIY move is cheaper, but added costs for truck rentals, packaging materials, gas, and possible breakage of items make costs rise exponentially. Movers by nature have professional ways of packing along with protection and care, thereby saving your money and avoiding potential costly damages or accidents in the process.
4. Myth: Movers don't care about your belongings.
Reality: Reputable moving companies understand the sentimental and financial value of your belongings. Professional movers are taught to handle your belongings with care and will take great detail in packing them with quality materials to ensure safe arrival. Most provide options for insurance that will let you have confidence in your move. For those that have fragile or high-value items, professional movers have special techniques and materials to ensure it will be well protected.
5. Myth: You don't have to pack anything if you hire movers.
Reality: While some moving companies do have full-service options, including packing, not all packages include this in their default service. In fact, most moving firms offer different levels of services, and you need to make sure whether the package includes packing or you are supposed to do your own packing. If you don't want to pack, full-service movers will take care of everything from boxing up your possessions to reassembling furniture at your new home.
6. Myth: Moving companies won't move plants, pets, or perishables.
Reality: Although most movers don't allow the move of plants, pets, and perishable goods due to safety and legal reasons, many of them recommend ways through which you can handle those items. For instance, they might recommend customers transport small plants or carriers of pets through their means or even refer them to other companies that specialize in the transportation of pets. Some full-service movers can connect you to their trusted pet relocation partners or also advise on how to go about moving such sensitive items.
7. Myth: Movers only work during business hours.
Reality: Many people believe movers are only available during the week or during normal working hours. This is, in fact, quite the opposite of the truth. Most moving companies are very flexible and offer evening and weekend services to accommodate the clients schedule. If you need to move at a time that doesn't fall within the typical hours many movers will work with you — particularly if you can schedule it well in advance.
8. Myth: Movers are only helpful on big moves.
Reality: Movers can assist on anything from small apartment moves all the way to the large family house. Even with only a few pieces of furniture or few items to move, movers do save time and effort. Small moves benefit from movers with efficient packing, safe transport of goods, and handling, making them wise choices regardless of relocation size.
9. Myth: Movers will take forever to complete the job.
Reality: Experienced movers are trained to work quickly and efficiently, often completing moves in a fraction of the time it would take a DIY mover. From pre-planning to packing to unpacking, movers have streamlined processes to handle every step without unnecessary delays. Moreover, they work with teams, allowing multiple movers to work simultaneously and cut down on moving time.
10. Myth: Movers don't offer any storage.
Reality: Most professional moving companies have short-term and long-term storage facilities to hold your items in case there is a gap between the dates of moving out and moving in. Storage facilities movers offer are usually secure, climate-controlled, and ready to safeguard your goods until you take them into the new house. This added flexibility can make the transition between homes so much smoother.
Why Hiring Professional Movers is a Smart Choice
Now that these myths have been debunked, it should be pretty easy to understand how hiring professional movers can add value to your move. Movers have experience, equipment, and personnel capable of handling every aspect of the move, whether it be local, long-distance, or even international. They'll take care of each and every single belonging to the highest extent of their abilities in planning, packing, and so on. With reputable movers, you will save time and reduce stress while protecting your belongings, so moving is positive.
How to Choose the Right Mover
Not all movers are created equal, and finding the right moving company is key to your move. Here are a few quick tips to help you in choosing a reputable moving company:
Research Thoroughly: Read reviews, ask for recommendations, and compare a number of quotes.
Verify licenses and insurance: Long-distance or out-of-country moves require verification of moving licenses and insurance.
Ask about other services: Determine whether the company offers packing and storage, and other services you may need.
Get all costs beforehand: Request a quote with a detailed breakdown of all charges to avoid surprise fees or charges.
Conclusion
Myths about movers shouldn't get in the way of your successful and stress-free moving experience. Professional movers bring a lot of benefits to your move, ensuring that all care is taken with regard to your belongings and that your transition goes smoothly. If you can get the right movers to help, this leaves you time to settle into your new home instead of having to concern yourself with how you get there. In this process, by debunking these common myths, it becomes crystal clear that movers are indeed somewhat more than just an extra pair of helping hands-they form a crucial part of any successful move.

HOW A MOVING COMPANY HANDLES THE LOGISTICS OF AN INTERNATIONAL RELOCATION DURING WINTER
Moving internationally is a complicated affair, and with winter, you add a whole new set of problems. The cold weather, snowstorms, icy roads, and very short daylight hours may make a move worse in winter than in other seasons. Still, with the assistance of a professional moving company, even the logistics of an international relocation in winter are manageable and smooth.
Professional moving companies are better equipped to cope with such peculiar challenges that accompany winter relocations, as they have the expertise, experience, and equipment to manage the tasks accordingly. From weather adjustments to strategic packing and transportation, they ensure the move happens on time with minimum disruption. This article looks at how a moving company handles the logistics for an international relocation during winter.
Weather Preparedness and Flexibility
Unpredictable weather conditions are probably the most critical factors when moving during winter. Everything related to moving can be involved in it: snowstorms, icy conditions, extreme cold. A professional moving company realizes this and prepares for possible weather-related contingencies well in advance.
Moving companies follow weather forecasts and change their schedule when necessary. If heavy snowfall or bad weather is predicted, they can reschedule your moving in advance to avoid any delays or hazardous travel conditions. This offers flexibility so that your move remains safe and efficient.
Besides, professional movers have special equipment and vehicles adapted to winter conditions. Trucks fitted with all-weather tires, snow chains, and de-icing kits ensure that your belongings are moved without any setbacks, even during challenging weather conditions. The broad experience in negotiating ice roads and hazardous conditions lets them foresee problems and avoid delays accordingly.
Specialized Packing for Cold Weather
Few things can be affected in this freezing weather while moving. Especially, the electronics, glasses, and fragile items are sensitive to extremely cold temperatures that may crack them or hamper their functioning. In such a case, necessary precautions are taken by the moving companies through special packing materials for protection.
An example is that movers use boxes that are insulated or padded in order to preserve fragile items against changes in temperatures. Movers use bubble wrap, thermal blankets, and weatherproof materials to prevent cold-related damage. Furniture is well-wrapped, especially those made of wood or leather, for it could warp or change with temperature.
Professional movers also advise customers against the shipment of temperature-sensitive materials, such as plants, liquids, or foodstuffs, during winter. In the case of such items that need to be moved, movers can arrange climate-controlled transportation alternatives that ensure their safe delivery in good condition.
Transportation Logistics and Route Planning
An international winter move requires pre-planning in all areas of transportation. Inclement weather takes its toll on road closures, flight delays, and shipping schedules. It all goes into planning the logistics of an international move with a moving company.
Professional movers try to overcome these issues by mapping out the safest and most efficient routes. They will avoid areas prone to heavy snowstorms, avalanches, or ice on the roads. At times, they may even need to work with carriers such as airlines, cargo ships, and trucking companies to find a reliable shipping method for your belongings.
Besides that, they also add buffer time in their moving estimate to cover any eventualities should delays occur. Even so, though summer moves can be pretty straightforward and predictable, winter moves may take a bit longer due to contingencies. Moving companies know quite well how everything depends on timing, especially if customs clearances and international shipping are going to be involved, and they make every step to keep the move on track.
Managing Customs and International Shipping Delays
Winter weather can affect more than just the physical parts of a move; it can be a factor in customs and international shipping, too. Many international ports, airports, and customs offices are delayed during winter months due to disruptions in weather, holiday schedules, or staffing shortages. This is where a professional moving company is best prepared for such eventualities.
International movers are well versed with customs regulations of other countries and shipping timelines. They manage customs very efficiently; hence, the processing of all the paper work is done well in time to avoid any inconvenience at customs. If, due to bad weather, your shipment is delayed at a port or airport, moving companies will arrange tracking customs to expedite the process once the weather improves.
Professional movers will also be in constant contact with shipping companies, freight forwarders, and customs brokers to ensure that your goods are on schedule to be moved and cleared as soon as possible. They quickly try to iron out any problems that do arise without you needing to become involved so that you may concern yourself with other aspects of your relocation.
Storing Your Belongings Safely
Winter relocations most definitely will be burdened with temporary storage solutions due to weather delays or because your new home isn't ready. Professional moving companies offer secure, climate-controlled storage facilities that can protect your belongings during the transition.
Facilities are a prerequisite during winter when cold temperatures, humidity, and moisture can spoil your goods if not stored properly. Professional moving companies offer short- and long-term storage facilities with temperature and humidity controls that will keep your goods from freezing and being ruined by damp conditions or the possible moisture damage associated with an unregulated environment.
In this respect, your relocation might be postponed because of a snowstorm or cancellation of flights, and thus the removals firm would be able to safely store your goods until you are ready to receive them in your new home. That way, it allows flexibility in the manner in which your relocation might proceed when weather conditions are not suitable.
Unpacking and Setting Up in Your New Home
Sometimes, landing in a new country during winter can be an overwhelming experience, especially if it welcomes you with cold weather, not to mention the additional agony of unloading all your stuff. Professional movers have unpacking and set-up services to help make your transition smooth.
The moving company could also take care of unpacking, assembling furniture, and organizing your belongings once they reach your new home. This is helpful in winter, especially when conditions outside can be cold or icy, making the heavy lifting yourself a bit more difficult.
Professional movers also ensure that all your items are unpacked in time, so you may settle into your new home, be it a house, an apartment, or something temporary, to set up your life with comfort to make it easier for you to adjust to the new environment.
Insurance and Protection for Peace of Mind
Moving during winter carries with it an added risk on account of the various forms of weather damages or delays. Professional moving companies offer full insurance packages directed to protect your goods across the board.
Having insurance coverage ensures that some of your belongings get damaged due to extreme weather conditions, accidents, or delays; the value of your items will be compensated. The movers provide different options concerning insurance coverage, basing it on how much cover one needs, hence assuring one that their belongings are safe.
Professional moving companies have contingency plans to deal with any situation that might occur; for instance, accidents on icy roads or damage from being exposed to extreme cold. This level of protection is invaluable when one is moving long distances across different climates.
Conclusion
The relocation process internationally during winters can be very cumbersome and fragile; it can easily be handled with the help of a professional moving company. Be it the management of unpredictable weather and customs delay to specialized packing solutions and storage options, the moving companies make sure that your transition is smooth during the harshest winter months of the year.
In this way, you can entrust a professional moving company with ensuring that your belongings are in good hands and that relocation during winter is truly professional. Thanks to their skills, an international move during the winter period is not a big problem, as you will be able to focus on all the details of settling into your new home without having to experience extra stress, trying to independently cope with the subtleties of the move.

MOVING COMPANY SERVICES EXPLAINED: FROM PACKING TO UNPACKING
Moving to a new home can be quite complicated and stressful, especially across borders. From initial packing stages through to the final unpacking stage at your destination, logistics in moving involve massive time, effort, and expertise. Many consider it best to relegate this complexity by hiring the services of a professional moving company.
Moving companies offer full-service moving. The services offered range from packing at your current residence, safe transportation to the new place, and unpacking and arranging them at your new home. This article will elaborate on all the services offered by moving companies and show how each one will make a person's move smooth and efficient.
1. Pre-Move Consultation
The first service offered by most professional moving companies is a pre-move consultation. This could be in-person or virtual, depending on the preference of both the client and the company. During the consultation, the moving company assesses the size of the move, the volume of items that need to be relocated, and any specific requirements the client may have with regard to the handling of fragile items or specialty moves, including artwork, pianos, or antiques.
Such consultation also involves the moving company providing an accurate estimate for the cost of such a move and, therefore, planning for the logistics involved in this move. It is an avenue for the client to ask any question, discuss apprehensions, and clarify details of the moving process.
2. Customized Packing Services
Packing is considered one of the most time-consuming and stressful areas of moving. Moving companies offer professional packing to save the clients from the hustle of sorting through belongings and worries about how to pack them securely. These packing services can be customized based on the client's needs:
Full Packing Services: This would mean that the movers actually pack everything in your house and can even provide all the materials that may be required for this purpose, such as boxes, bubble wrap, tape, and so on. It shall be appropriate for those clients who would wish to leave the whole job entirely to the professionals.
Partial Packing Services: Moving firms offer partial packing services to their customers who may want to pack their personal belongings or essentials themselves. The movers pack specific categories such as all fragile or highly valuable possessions, while the rest is packed by the customer.
Specialty Packing: Special items require special attention and special packaging in order not to get damaged during transportation. Local moving companies also offer packing for specialty items like glassware, electronics, fine art, antiques, and musical instruments with extra heavy-duty boxes, even custom crating.
The professional movers are experienced in packing anything that can be imagined, and they take all possible precautions to have them packed safely and efficiently. This not only protects your items but also ensures that they occupy the least space, which would decrease the cost of its transport.
3. Disassembly and Reassembly of Furniture
Large and bulkier pieces of furniture have rather cumbersome relocations-one really can't negotiate with them if they don't fit out the doors or up and down stairways when they are assembled. Many moving companies will offer disassembly services where they carefully take apart furniture items such as beds, wardrobes, and dining tables before moving them.
Once the furniture reaches a destination, movers reassemble it to its previous original setting, making sure everything is securely put together and in the right rooms. It saves clients from the hustle of disassembling complicated furniture by themselves and reduces the chance of damage while moving the furniture.
4. Transportation and Logistics Management
The core transportation services offered by the moving companies include: local and international transportation. There is a lot of logistics in the transportation of goods from one place to another, whether it be a local or an international relocation.
Local Moves: The moving companies transport your goods with the help of trucks and vans to your new home on any local relocation. They route out plans to ensure there is no congestion of heavy traffic and thus assure timely deliveries.
International Moves: Moving companies will have more complex logistics management for international moving. They organize air, sea, or land transport and handle all customs clearances to ensure your items meet the regulations of the country they are shipped to. Professional movers also arrange for storage and delivery upon the item's arrival at their international destination.
It itemizes everything the company does to ensure the move happens in good time and within a certain schedule.
5. Storage Solutions
There are times when belongings being moved need temporary storage. This may be due to downsizing, awaiting the new home to be ready, or perhaps an international move; many movers offer secure storage options.
Short-term: This will be suitable for customers who would wish to hold their goods in the middle of the move for a few days or weeks. Moving companies offer climate-controlled storage facilities for protection during this period from potential damages.
Long-term: Long-term storage is also possible with them, which may be required for people that need to shift elsewhere for a more extended period; this is quite helpful in the case of expats who, while trying to get adjusted to a new country, have to send their belongings ahead of time.
In this regard, moving companies are very considerate in that they make sure all items are thoroughly packed and stored in secure, monitored facilities until such time as they are ready to be delivered to the new home.
6. Insurance and Protection Plans
Moving can expose your possessions to potential damages, losses, or even theft. To reduce these risks, moving companies may provide insurance and protection plans that cover potential problems during your move.
Basic Liability Coverage: Most moving companies have basic liability coverage by default-a coverage that compensates for any damage or loss according to the weight of the items.
Comprehensive Insurance: For clients seeking more protection, moving firms also offer comprehensive insurance policies to cover the actual value of belongings. This kind of insurance gives clients complete peace of mind, especially when relocating very expensive or, rather, invaluable items.
Discuss the insurance options with your moving company in advance to ensure that all your properties are fully covered.
7. Unpacking Services
Unpacking is the finishing touch of relocation and might be as time-consuming as the packing itself. That is why many moving companies assist their clients with unpacking services to help them settle down in their new homes faster and without stress.
Full unpacking service: this would involve the moving crew unpacking all items, placing them in the appropriate rooms, and removing all packing materials. Great for those clients who want to get settled right away and not have to go through unpacking boxes at all.
Partial Unpacking Service: Moving firms allow you to unpack some items yourself, particularly if you want partial unpacking service. The movers would rather set up the essentials like furniture, electronics, and kitchen supplies.
Packing and Unpacking: The moving companies offer unpacking and organization services. Movers do not only unpack your items but organize them in the way you prefer in order to make it easier for you to settle down.
8. Post-Move Support and Assistance
The top-rated relocation companies provide after-moving support so that their clients will be satisfied with the moving. Services can include:
Debris Removal: The moving professionals will remove all packaging material, boxes, and debris after unpacking is complete to leave your new home clean and tidy.
Furniture Setup: Movers can also engage in the setup of furniture by arranging it in one's new home according to their liking.
Follow-up Services: Some companies will offer follow-up services wherein they check up after the move that everything is as it should be and take care of any additional requests or issues.
Conclusion
Moving company services are much more than just transferring your belongings from one place to another. This includes everything from the packing of your goods through logistics, to storage and even unpacking at a new destination. Moving firms have created all these services with a view to making relocation as effortless and free of stress as possible. Whether moving locally or internationally, professional moving services will offer the utmost in care for every detail of the move, so you may be able to focus on the start of your next life chapter in a new home.

Full-service moving companies explain in detail how each service can make your move smoother and more efficient. Servicing: Setting Up Your Move In this article, we will go over the full range of moving company services and explain in detail how each service can make your move smoother and more efficient.
1. Pre-Move Consultation
Most professional moving companies offer a variety of services, the first one being a pre-move consultation. This is done either in person or virtually, depending on what is most convenient for the customer and what is possible with the company. The moving company estimates the size of the move, the volume of items that are to be moved, along with any special requirements, such as fragile handling or specialty moves concerning artwork, pianos, and antiques.
A consultation with the moving company helps estimate the proper cost for moving and therefore allows the planning of logistics. This also would provide an opportunity for the client to ask questions, discuss their concerns, and seek clarification on each detail involved in the moving process.
2. Customized Packing Services
Packing is one of the most irritating and burdensome activities in moving. Various moving companies offer professional packing to save clients from the hassle of sorting belongings and how to pack them securely. These services can be customized based on the needs of the clients:
Full Packing Service: This is whereby the moving company will take care of everything, right from packing every single item in your home down to supplying all materials needed, such as boxes, bubble wrap, and tape. It suits clients who want to leave everything to the professionals.
Partial Packing Services: This involves a situation whereby the moving companies extend partial packing services to those customers who, for one reason or another, may want to pack some items on their own, particularly personal belongings or essentials. Here, movers pack only certain categories of items, usually the fragile or very valuable possessions, whereas the rest are packed by the client.
Specialty Packing: Some items need special care and, for that matter, custom packing so that they do not get damaged during transportation. The moving companies thus provide customized packaging for items like glassware, electronics, fine art, antiques, and musical instruments by using reinforced boxes and even customized crates for extra protection.
The professional movers know how to pack different items in the safest and efficient way. It will not only protect your belongings but also minimize the space taken up by the goods, which in turn can save the transport cost.
3. Disassembly and Reassembly of Furniture
Large furniture items are usually heavy and very problematic to move, as they are most of the time unable to get through doors or stairways when intact. Such items can be disassembled by most moving companies, including beds, wardrobes, and dining tables before moving.
Upon arrival, the movers reassemble furniture back to its original setting; they ensure everything is well fixed and correctly placed in the intended rooms. This saves clients from going through agonizing furniture assembly and disassembly, apart from minimizing the risk of damage to furniture during transport.
4. Transportation and Logistics Management
Transportation is one of the basic services involved in moving services. Moving locally or abroad, shifting your goods from one place to another effectively and efficiently requires detailed logistics.
Local Moves: A moving company uses trucks and vans during a local move to transport your belongings to your new house. They work out the most viable routes to avoid traffic snarl-ups, ensuring timely delivery.
International Moves: For international moving, the logistics management is comparatively more intricate. They arrange for air, sea, or land transport and handle all customs clearance to ensure your items meet the regulations of the destination country. Professional movers can also arrange for storage and delivery upon arrival at an international destination.
The company manages all the details in the process so that it comes out right and on time, according to schedule.
5. Storage Solutions
Moving involves the storage of belongings from time to time. Whether you downsize and your new home is not ready yet, or whether you are moving internationally, many moving companies are in a position to offer a secure storage option.
Short-term storage works for clients who want to store their belongings while moving for a couple of days or weeks. Moving firms have climate-controlled storage facilities that will not damage anything within that period of time.
Long-term storage facilities are available for those customers who need longer-term storage. This is very helpful in cases where expats would want to leave their belongings temporarily in storage as they get used to life in the new country.
In this regard, moving companies ensure that all items are well packed and stored in secure, monitored facilities until they are ready for delivery to the new home.
6. Insurance and Protection Plans
Moving can cause your goods to be subjected to damage, loss, or even theft. In relevance to these risks, moving companies offer different kinds of insurance and protection plans to cover these possible issues during the move.
Basic Liability Coverage: Most moving companies offer basic liability coverage by default. It covers for any loss or damage based on the weight of the items.
Comprehensive Insurance: The moving companies sell comprehensive insurance policies to cover the actual value of belongings for clients who need greater protection. This type of insurance gives peace of mind, especially when clients move expensive or priceless items.
It is highly recommended to discuss with your moving company all the options for insurance prior to the date of moving so that your items can be fully covered.
7. Unpacking Services
Unpacking can be as involving as packing and is usually the last step in moving. Many moving companies offer unpacking services to their clients to have them settled as soon as possible and reduce much stress.
Full unpacking, where movers unpack everything, put them in the right rooms, and remove all the packaging material, is very useful for a client who would want to get settled down as fast as possible.
Partial Unpacking: Moving companies offer partial unpacking services where, if one intends to unpack some items himself, that is alright, but larger or more cumbersome pieces require some assistance. The movers then put most of their efforts into the setting up of essentials: furniture, electronics, and kitchen supplies.
Organization Service: This may be included in some mover's unpacking service. That means movers not only unpack for you but also organize the items according to your preference; this helps you settle down more easily.
8. After-Move Support and Care
The best moving companies would provide support after a move to ensure all customers are satisfied with the move. This might be in the form of:
Debris Removal: Movers will take away all the packing materials, boxes, and debris left in the house after unpacking to leave your new home clean and organized.
Furniture Setup: Movers can also assist with setting up furniture and arranging as desired in one's new home.
Follow-up Services: Some companies provide follow-up services in which, after the move, they will call just to ensure that everything is as it should be and if the customer requires anything else or has any issues that need resolution.
Conclusion
The services offered by a moving company are not just about moving your goods from point A to point B. From the packing of your goods, logistics handling, storage, and unpacking at the new place, moving companies offer different packages to make the process smooth and stress-free. Local or international, by hiring professionals, every part of your moving can be well taken care of, and you can focus on the next step in your life inside your new home.

I'm not even through season 2 yet and I'm already fed up with people (eg. Deaton) expecting Derek to be a great Alpha right from the start.
That's like having this guy in a family owned company.
He was never supposed to take over the business and that was fine with him. He'd rather stay on the technical side of things instead of handling all that management and HR stuff.
But then something bad happens and he is the only one left. He never wanted to be CEO but if he doesn't take over, this company that has been his family's everything would be lost.
He needs more personnel but people don't want him to hire the staff he thinks fit his vision, but expect him to work with this one person who'd rather go to his biggest competitor. Although the competitor made it very clear that the person is not welcome and will never be.
Additionally this competitor does everything to destroy all that is left of the company.
Instead of support, what he hears from former business partners is that everything was so much better with the former CEO, who probably had the right education, proper training and an established staff. But hey, new CEO, why aren't you as good?
That doesn't even take into account the trauma and grief surounding everything that happened to Derek's family.
And then others are surprised he is not a people person.
Really?
