Seemingly, sometimes I just want to suffer (and I want Kurt and Blaine to suffer too). Reading this story was one of those times. I hated what Blaine did and hated what Kurt did and everything was so ugly, but you know that reconciliation is one of my favourite tropes, right? This fic was one hell of an emotional rollercoaster, but in the best of ways. Is it bad to say I wish it was even more angsty? (Oops, I'm just a sucker for angst).

When 9 year old Regina snuck out of her castle after 3 years under Maleficent's banishment, she wasn't sure what to expect. She wasn't expecting to run headfirst into a young pirate who would then hide her from the evil fairy and her goblins. She certainly wasn't expecting floor that young pirate to become everything she ever wanted. With Harry, there were no expectations, no complaints about her lack of makeu-p, no distaste for her love of swords over sewing, no need to be the fairest off them all. She was Regina and Harry loved her as she was. And she loved him for that.

This was a clever take on the "traditional" amnesia fic, and I enjoyed it thoroughly (including all of the time when I was crying, which was more than half of the time). In particular, I loved the flashbacks. Lovely, heartbreaking and very well written.

What an amazing, magical read this story was. While I’m not usually one for magic and fate and soulmates, this story captured me with it’s hope and optimism. I cried in the beginning, and I cried at the end, but mostly, this was uplifting and lovely to read.

This really is an awful story - or rather an beautiful, well written story with an awful theme. It’s very trigger heavy, but I still recommend it a lot. For some reason, I love these abuse stories with all the blangst and broken!Blaine that they entail. Be prepared for crying.
