kas i have a question for you as a (former????) librarian which is that i would love to go hang out in my neighborhood's new library building (which is lovely) but they have big NO FOOD OR DRINK!!!! signs up everywhere and i haven't spent enough time there to know if i can flout that restriction at all, even just with a water bottle (the new building has been open about two months so VERY new). i would love to take an iced coffee to sip or something but i don't want to get in trouble or cause problems :(
imho no food or drink rules in the library are BULLSHIT however i understand, too, the concept of bugs.....in my old library, water was usually not flouting the rules badly enough to get you lectured by the manager, esp it had a tight resealable lid. i think if you snuck an iced coffee in a like. what's the word. reusable?? coffee thingy it would be ok. not to give away trade secrets or anything, or maybe this is just me sticking it to my managers for 9 years straight, but i feel like with libraries a lot of the time with food and drink rules the question is always, are you being super obvious about flouting the rules and will you stop if we ask you to! so yk be smart and if a librarian says hey we just built this library can you put that away or drink it outside...you're good!
well i was there for 3 months twice at one of their top unis as a visiting researcher broadening my scientific horizons learning new techniques acquiring new skills and such. so for like 10hrs a day during the week i was doing precisely that but during the weekends i fucked around (figuratively only you know we’re celibate around here) w sooo many men like idk how many even nor do i remember them all like people would come up to me in the street every damn time i left the apartment and i was lonely & bored without my friends so i started having fun w it a little bit 😇
Brewdog Hazy Jane Guava IPA (Picked up at M&S Food in Oxford, UK). A 3 of 4. This is already a nice base beer but the addition of guava makes it quite great -- guava is a favorite of mine. Plenty of other tropical fruit play nicely in the body and this manages to have a nice hazy thickness to it that so many lighter-ABV hazy IPAs lack.
A journal (or diary?) of my one week stay in Oxfordshire, with sketches! ^^ Please excuse the childish, chickenscratch handwriting... some drawings added later on and a few correction made—if the pencil lines look less clean on some, it's because I used a (rather blunt) pencil instead of the mechanical pencil pictured.
This is very niche, but I honestly can’t wait to make my students groan when I teach Gatsby next by being like, “Well, I only stayed three weeks at a Oxford, so I can’t really call myself an Oxford man.”

i’m pretty sure studying abroad was a poor decision with regards to every single aspect of my life, but i’m saying this sick and tired and after a long day of being on a mandatory field trip i’ve been dreading all week so. grain of salt etc
Upon a recent visit to relatives in Rugby, (relatively close to Oxford) I had the great pleasure of catching a wonderful singing duo called The Weeping Willows! It was at a cool venue in Leamington Spa called Temperance Cafe, Arts & Events, what a night! First off, this couple from Australia had a terrific sound & vibe! Think of a Sun Records, Everly Brothers, Chris Issack Gothic mash up! While I'm posting a cover here, they certainly had terrific tunes of their own, great song writers, check 'em out on Spotify! I really hope I get to see them over in the states! Lastly, the venue was cozy and comfortable with good acoustics, very clear, yet warm. Nicely done folks.
