I don’ think I’ve ever seen a Mentor/Mentee relationship like the one between Marcia and Septimus. They both care for each other so much. Septimus takes Marcia to plays, Marcia had to continuously encourage him to shed his Young Army habits so he could have a messy room and go outside and have fun. They both had a scene where they thought the other fell down an ancient elevator shaft and were devastated. It’s so sweet and you can hold an equal interests in both of their POV’s because they’re both such lovely, interesting characters. They are the best of the best to me, no other relationship compares.

Tbh I think staying at zeldas cottage together is the funniest possible thing that could've happened to silas+marcia specifically. Silas goes from thinking marcia is cold and unfeeling and insane to being like "oh so she CAN experience joy but only when she's telling us over breakfast all about the latest extremely niche topic she's gotten invested in. And also she's insane"

Went through the 5 stages of grief realizing that "Marcia" (as in Marcia Overstrand from Septimus Heap) is supposed to be pronounced "Marsha" only to find later in the books when Septimus yells her name and it's spelled phonetically that I was right the first time and for her in particular it's pronounced "Mar-see-uh"
