AARON HOTCHNER X SWIFTIE!READER
He doesn't really get why your so obsessed with her
Before dating you the only Taylor song he heard was Shake it off
Jack loved dancing to it so it was overplayed and he got kinda sick of it
When you found out he only knew SIO you almost had an aneurysm
"HOW CAN YOU ONLY KNOW SHAKE IT OFF? DO YOU LIVE UNDER A ROCK?"
Yes, he kinda does
He just doesn't have time to try new music
With work and Jack when he does get time to listen to music he would rather listen to songs he knows he likes
You tell him not listening to Taylor is illegal
He says it isn't
"it should be....."
You put Taylor on anytime you can
He pretends he doesn't like her music
But some her songs just make him FEEL things
Jack loves listening to the quicker/more upbeat songs with you
ME! Shake it off, 22, Bejeweled ETC
He Denys liking her music until you find out he's been listening to her while doing work at home
His favourite song is Long story short
Favourite era is Folklore and he doesn't have a favourite or least favourite ex
Thinks it's weird to care so much about her love life
"Taylor should be able to date whoever she chooses as long as it's legal. She's human too and deserves her privacy"
Everytime there's a new album drop he gets the Vinyl for you
And also for himself but mainly you
Builds you a display for all the vinyls in you and his bedroom
Well he gets Morgan to build it but he helped
By help I mean he and Jack designed it
He got you tickets for the Era's Tour but he couldn't go because of work
So you go with Jack instead
You dress him up as Benjamin ❤️
You're Lover Taylor
Hotch shows EVERYONE on the team the photo of you and Jack dressed up for the show
Ended up getting tickets AGAIN for a different show
And took time off work so he could go with you & Jack this time
Jack is absolutely thrilled that he got to go TWICE
Overall he tries to deny liking Taylor but eventually he and Jack are are super fans

Although I'm a multi shipper, I wanna join Polin Week as tribute and support. And I think I'm late for favourite show quote. :)))
[I can't make gifs (I don't know how to), write fanfics (I'm a horrible storyteller) nor create mood boards (I'm more of an analytical person than creative, since I'm a STEM person). Instead I would provide an essay as I'm pretty good at it.]
My favourite from Penelope is from The Choice (Season 2 Ep 6) when she chats with Colin about purposes:
"I am certain you will find your purpose one day. Everyone must eventually... [About her own purpose] Of course not. But I imagine it to be something both animating and satisfying. The type of venture that speaks to not who I am but rather who I am to be. My purpose will challenge me to be brave and witty. My purpose will propel me far beyond the watchful glare of my mama. My purpose shall set me free."
It explains that everyone has a purpose, even for women in a regency era. Though she is technically Lady Whistledown, she wants to have her own goals in life and wants to achieve it by herself. Fortunately she does in the end. She presents herself to the whole Ton that she is Lady Whistledown and that she wants them to know how awesome she is. This actually makes me feel so proud of her for her journey from meek to confident. I also evoke with her as I also share the same sentiment.
As for Colin, my favourite quote from him is short, but made my heart break for him. It's in Joining of Hands (Season 3 ep 7):
"Then what good am I to you?!"
It displays his vulnerability. It displays his self-doubt and thinking pessimistically how anyone could ever love him. Just him, as a emotionally intelligent, soft, and caring person. From the beginning Colin wants to be taken seriously or want others to see him for who he truly is. But ever since Marina's Deceptive Engagement Scandal and his Boring Travel Stories, no one ever respects or listens to him, except for Violet and Penelope.
Penelope is the one who sees and loves him as he is, and she doesn't want him to change. But ever since she is LW, he is spiralling in self-doubts and lack of self-esteem. He realises that Penelope has a purpose, she knows who she is, and knows what she wants (link back with Pen's quote above), while he doesn't. He thinks that out of all the men in the Ton, why him? Why does she choose him? As a pawn like Marina? Payback for kicking Lord Debling out? Out of spite? What does she see in him worth loving? Would Pen ever take him seriously? Would she ever be his partner? Would she ever love him?
Luckily Penelope helps alleviate his doubts by confessing that she loves him (during the Modiste Bitch Off), and that she tells the Ton that she is LW. She is doing it because Pen loves Colin and his family. She is doing it out of love. She doesn't want to keep secrets anymore and is free to be with him proudly. Now he realises that she loves him unconditionally and without judgement, hence his love confession. It makes me feel so elated that Colin has finally found a partner, where both will love and support each other in anything.
Overall, I love the journey of friends-to-lovers in Polin. It does give me the satisfaction that they are FINALLY TOGETHER! I'm excited to see their new journey together as a married writer couple. :))

Sometimes the Adaptation is the Book, Actually...
So, as I'm sure more than a few of you did, I enjoyed the heck out of Jill Bearup's fantasy heroin YouTube shorts series. And as I'm sure many of us have experienced, YouTuber books can be...distinctly hit-or-miss in terms of quality. So when Bearup announced that she was adapting the shorts series into an actual book, I was willing to give it a shot when it came out. So in Bearup's own tier list terms, I'd give this book a pretty good. Strong concept, a lot to like...but the TYPESETTING, my god. Let's talk Just Stab Me Now.
This is your spoiler warning for a book that has been EXTREMELY hyped on YouTube, and one who's story has already been told on YouTube. Here there be Spoilers.
So normally I like to start with the things I like about a book, but since I liked so much about this book and the one thing that I didn't like could have stopped me cold, we're going to start with the one thing that I think was actually bad. The typesetting.
To be clear: Bearup was extremely clear that using different fonts and margins to delineate between Caroline's world, the fantasy world, and Caroline's mind where she interacts with the fantasy characters was a considered, intentional choice. That's valid, and there is nothing inherently wrong with making that choice. It's also well done in the book, like it's consistent and well put together.
That said: Oh my god you guys, I hated it. It took me the first fifty-odd pages to get used to it, and even then, it AGGRESSIVELY snapped my editor brain's bra strap. I seriously considered putting the book down because of the typesetting, which would have been a crying shame because I really enjoyed the book overall. This might not bother some readers, but it was nearly a dealbreaker for me, so I wanted to mention it as a "your mileage may vary" kind of thing.
Other than that though, I think this book did a pretty solid job of adapting the fantasy heroine shorts into a full-blown novel.
Caroline Lindley is very much helicopter parenting her fictional characters, and the fact that they are by turns bemused and cranky about this is very fun throughout the novel. I also like that we get a lot more of Caroline in the novel than we did in the shorts series. Her story was just as compelling as Rosamund and Leo's, and I quite enjoyed having the extraordinarily modern cybersecurity subplot to balance the fantasy setting as well. I wasn't expecting that to work as well as it did, but thematically it resonated quite well, and I like the acknowledgement that while we don't use swords and political marriages so much these days, it's not like we've STOPPED having enemies and needing to protect ourselves, our homes, and our families. The relationship between modernity and "no particular historical era" in terms of thematic connections was really well done.
The general added depth to all the characters was also excellent, since we had time and space for characterization that the shorts series had to skim over for time. We really felt Rosamund's grief in the book, Leo had way more personality (and I loved that) and some of the plot stuff was smoothed and fleshed out in some really interesting ways. The caladrius was actually an inspired touch, and it tied together a bunch of slightly odd things in the series in a really elegant way. It also gave Baron Mabry and George an interesting parallel too, since they were both screwing over people for financial gain. The methods might be different, but the heart of the crimes and the harm they do are fairly universal.
As a writer, I also ADORED the conceit of Caroline being absolutely out of control in her process. She was trying SO HARD to write a standard enemies-to-lovers romantasy and literally nothing could get her plot or characters there. Every writer has been there, every writer has had little breakdowns over the story just not freaking doing what you tell it to, and there was something deeply vindicating about it. I loved the personification of the writing process.
This book also had a little bit of that Princess Bride feel where it is both a send-up of romance tropes and a deeply respectful nod to them. I don't know that pastiche is the right word here, but neither does parody seem to be, and I think we need a word for this writing mood, where you're both deconstructing and reiterating a series of tropes. I don't have a word for it, but this is a thing that pops up periodically (periodic because it's genuinely hard to do well; lean too far to one side or the other and it flops catastrophically) and we should name it.
Overall, for a book from a YouTuber--especially one who rather famously discovered halfway through the process that she does not enjoy writing fiction--I was pleasantly surprised by this book, and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. Bearup has told us not to expect a sequel, so I won't...but if one materialized in the future, I'd read it!

My thoughts after watching The Eras Tour movie:
-It truly felt like a concert, but without all the drawbacks of one. It was truly amazing and I am very grateful Taylor chose to make this movie.
-I think my favorite era might have actually been Folklore despite being 'the slowest one'. I mourn the fact that Cardigan was cut from the movie, but August was gr8, My Tears Ricochet was really emotional and I adored the staging for TLGAD. You could also see that Taylor was really into it during this era. I do however wish she would have filmed one of the nights she wore the green dress cause that one is stunning. The white one is merely acceptable.
-However, it did not feel like she was into Our Song. Especially when you compare it to the other acustic song, YOYOK, you could see she was enjoying one a loooot more than the other. And as a consequence, I too enjoyed YOYOK more. (Though, this is my fave song from Midnights, so of course I loved it LOL)
-As great as Long Live was for a credits song, I think it was a mistake to cut it from the Speak Now set that was just too short. Also she was filmed while wearing the ugliest Enchanted dress. It truly looked like she was wearing 'a gown shaped by a pastry'. I didn't realize just how utterly fugly that dress was till I saw it close up in the movie.
-Speaking of fugly costumes, pls get rid of the stupid Midnights jackets. All of them. They are ridiculous and have nothing to do with the era IMO. The sparkly t-shirt is fine and it adds to the middle of the night aesthetic and the bodysuit is obviously stunning. But the jackets? UGLY! My favorite song here was Mastermind, mostly bc I completely forgot it was on the setlist and I was pleasently surprised when she started singing it.
-I think my least favorite era was Red tbh. I found the choice of songs really boring and nothing interesting was happening on stage either. Her costumes here were...fine. Nothing more, nothing less. I understand why she chose to sing ATW10 but honestly I feel like the original version would have been a better choice. I also think cutting IKYWT or WANEGBT would have been a better choice than some of the songs actually cut.
-I heard quite a lot of playback on 1989, but otherwise I enjoyed the era. (I may be wrong, I am no expert.) I would however swep Style for Wildest Dreams in the movie as I found Style surprisingly boring.
-Evermore was surprisingly extremely enjoyable, just like Folklore. I loved how mystical and witchy Willow was. Champagne Problems was truly made to be played to stadiums. And Tolerate it? Man, it broke me. I however would have swept Marjorie for No body, no crime, as I feel like the latter would have been more memorable.
-Reputation was flawless.
-I enjoyed the Fearless era waaaay more than I expected to.
-Lover was really the best start of the show, although I think the songs could have been chosen better. I am not a fan of YNTCD but I understand she needed an upbeat song there, but I still wish she would have chosen Paper Rings or London Boy. However that bodysuit is AMAZING and will be imortalized in history.
Overall, it was great and I am very grateful she made the movie.

My Top 10 Books of 2024 (so far)
Out of the 30 books I've read this year thus far, in no particular order here are the top 10 books I've read:
King of Sloth by Ana Huang
This book took me on a journey- a really emotional one. I laughed, I cried, I smiled and I got upset. I was really anticipating the release of this book and it didn't disappoint. Personally (as a grumpy girl) I love a good reverse grumpy x sunshine trope and it was perfectly executed. Xavier and Sloane are so perfect for each other, I think these two really understand each other and that's why they are able to immensely support one another when an obstacle gets thrown in their way. I also loved the cameos from characters from her other novels, I love to see that they're all doing well and that they're all happy in their relationships. The interconnectedness of Ana's books makes her characters feel so real and I'm excited to see what she has in store for the other books in the series as I can't wait to see cameos of Xavier and Sloane happy together.
2. Wild Love by Elsie Silver
I loved everything about this book. I always tell people that don't like romance that you simply aren't reading the right romance novels and this book is the definition of a well-executed romance novel. All the characters were so lovable each and every one of them left lasting impressions on me (including the mouse). The enemies to lovers trope was also executed very well and I loved that the writer added so much complexity to the plot as a lot was going on at once but that is what made the story feel real. I also loved the chemistry between the main characters and I loved the fact that everyone except them knew that they were perfect for each other. That made it so much better when they finally got together.
3. Bride by Ali Hazelwood
I devoured this book. Some aspects were quite predictable but it was really enjoyable. I really enjoy Ali's writing style and I was very curious to see what this book would be like given the fact that this isn't her usual genre. But she delivered in this romance fantasy novel in which a vampire bride fell in love with the werewolf alpha that she was forced to marry. This novel is perfect for someone seeking a gateway novel into urban fantasy as it involves vampires and werewolves living in the human world. This is not my usual genre of choice but I saw so many people raving about it so I caved and I read it and it definitely didn't disappoint.
4. The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald
This book was written beautifully. Although it was short, it was very compact as a lot happened and a lot was said, without actually being said, in such a short span. The use of poetic language throughout the novel effectively conveyed themes of chasing dreams, race, and class. Reading this book helped me gain a deeper understanding of the dynamics of the roaring twenties. It skilfully depicted the fragility of class and racial structures, while also highlighting the rapid growth of the masses' purchasing power and the migration of people from rural areas to the city during that era. The effects of the Harlem Renaissance, Garveyism, the Prohibition, and Jim Crow Laws was also showcased as these were all contributing factors to the beliefs that the people of this era upheld.
5. Behind the Net by Stephanie Archer
Lately I’ve been really into hockey romance even though I know absolutely nothing about the sport. In this novel the main characters went to high school together and they both had crushes on each other that neither ever acted on because they thought the other was out of their league. Nevertheless they meet up again in the future and both act like they are complete strangers until the truth comes out. This novel also beautifully tackled serious topics like alcoholism and depression. Overall it is a very good book and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good sports romance novel.
6. Love Redesigned by Lauren Asher
Personally I love everything Lauren Asher, I’ve read every book she has written and they are all amazing. Love Redesigned follows the story of two childhood rivals whose mothers happen to be best friends. Dahlia moves back to her hometown of Lake Wisteria where she and her childhood rival and college crush Julian literally bump into each other. She is an interior designer and he is a developer and they end up working together on a project where they restore a historical house on the lake. However the house isn’t the only thing they’ll be restoring as they manage to resolve the animosity between each other and fall in love. I loved everything about this book, the banter, the tension and the pranks. I devoured this book in a day.
7. King of Pride by Ana Huang
This novel is apart of the Kings of Sin series where each book is inspired by one of the seven deadly sins. I haven’t read an Ana Huang book that I didn't like; her books are captivating, fast paced and swoon worthy. Perfect for someone who is just getting into reading. This is an opposites attract romance novel where Kai is a reserved gentleman and Isabella is free spirited and somewhat chaotic. Kai has a crucial CEO vote at stake and he cannot afford to be sidetracked by any distractions nevertheless he is willing to risk it all for Isabella. I fell in love with Kai ever since I first met this character in King of Wrath and this book did not disappoint.
8. Native Son by Richard Wright
This book disturbed me yet captivated me in unimaginable ways. Bigger Thomas is the most unlikable character I have ever read, however it can be argued that he is simply just a product of his environment so you can't blame him for being who he is. I really enjoyed this book even though it traumatised me. It took place in Southside Chicago in the 1930s and it tells the story of Bigger Thomas, a black man, who accidentally killed a white woman and showed the price he paid for it.
9. A Doll’s House by Henrik Ibsen
This play is about Nora’s feminine awakening in which she comes to a realization that all the men in her life were treating her like a ‘doll’ who lived in their ‘doll house’ and she realized that she had enough. After her epiphany she decides to move on and live a life of her own where she prioritises her own desires. This play represents a gateway to a new feminist era that shapes the way the Victorian family is viewed.
10. The Letter’s We Keep by Nisha Sharma
I was lucky enough to receive an ARC copy of this book and it had me hooked from the moment I read the dedication. I haven’t read another book that has beautifully and successfully conveyed the guilt that comes with having immigrant parents who came from nothing and worked hard so that they could give you the life that they didn’t get the opportunity to have. Aside from the serious stuff that I greatly appreciated, the book explored two love stories, and I loved every bit of it. As the title suggests, ‘The Letters We Keep’ tells the stories of two lovers through their letters. They were an interracial couple, so they had to sneak around, as relations like this were frowned upon in the 1970s. Not to mention that interracial marriages were not fully legal across America until 1967 and coming from a strict Indian family posed difficulties. These letters brought characters Ravi and Jessie together, and this sparked a romance of their own.

Yule
Druig x Eternal!Reader
A/N: Yule has started a few days ago! And I celebrate it with my first Druig fanfic! Just so you know I had the medieval era in mind while writing this, even though it’s not really represented in this fic. But, I don’t know I found it romantic to imagine it like that...
( Probably gonna do a small part to follow this, or just short blurb because the whole mood gave me a bunch of other ideas other ideas )
Yule has come around. The green needles of the pine trees were as vigorous as ever, some had fallen to the ground, contrasting with the crunchy white carpet covering the ground.
Around the village, the red mistletoe trees were in full bloom and the villagers had started to collect the branches to use and ornate their house. There were already a few wreathes hanging on doors and wooden or metal ornaments hanging everywhere.
The windows were foggy from the great contrast between the ice-cold outsides and the warmth of the house.
Looking around the living room, the overall mood was festive, from the atmosphere to the smallest detail in the room.
Yule was your favorite holiday and has been since the very first one to be celebrated in the history of time.
And so, it has become a tradition to give it your all and celebrate it with your fellow eternals.
A pine tree was throning in the corner of the room, most of its branches sporting a small candle, wrapped with thin metal chains, illuminating the dark form.
Ajak was putting on the final touches to the lights O so delicately sliding the ornaments on the branches, while Sprite used her illusions to create flames, lighting the black strand. The eldest eternal preferred this idea over real fire to prevent the tree to set itself on fire then turn the whole house to ashes.
Sersi was weaving a crown of hay under the fond gaze of Ikaris, perched on the armrest of the seat she was coddled into. And when she made the final knot to her creation, she used her transformation ability to change it into a pine wreath, which she held out to her lover with a proud smile, clearly happy with her masterpiece.
You’d already avert your gaze before seeing the man’s reaction.
Makkari was speeding all around the place to gain time on the ornament setting, helped by Kingo, at his own speed , while friendly scolding his friend when she made a point of tapping his shoulders while passing by just to annoy him.
In the kitchen, Thena and Gilgamesh were “lovey doveyly” working on the traditional turkey and a bunch of other delicacies for tonight’s feast. Some flirty words reached your ears and made you chuckle to yourself at their dripping love and sometimes ridiculous pet names.
The only one missing was Druig.
The common space of the house wasn’t big enough to hide anything from view, even less a grown men like your mind-reading friend.
After scanning the room, there was still trace of him, which was enough motivation to make you stand up from your cozy spot in an armchair, wrapping a blanket around yourself to keep you warm.
You wandered around, looking for something indicating his presence; and as subtle as it was, you caught a shadow behind the window from the corner of your eye. With narrowed eyes, you made your way to the front door and discreetly opened it, stepping out into the coldness of the night.
Among the snowy landscape torches were still burning on either side of the main path, illuminating the street in a subdued light, but seemed to be enough for the few villagers taking a night stroll.
And there, with his back leaning against the wall, right beside the door, was the man you were previously looking for.
Those familiar blue eyes were already set on you, his owner didn’t let them waver as he munched on what seemed to be one of Gil’s homemade cookies.
“There you are! I feared you decided to skip our family feast”
The blue orbs you adored so much disappeared between a few eyelash flutters and his deep gaze left your form, not looking at anything in particular among the nightly landscape.
He ate the last bit of his cookie, and with his mouth still full, turned back to you. A cheeky smile on his face, making him look like a squirrel, with one of his cheeks full of the treat.
“Wouldn’t even think about it. I just wanted to get a preview of the dessert, while enjoying this wonderful night”
He gestured out to your surroundings, eyes never leaving you.
“And now, the most beautiful being in this universe”
You mirrored his grin and slid closer to him, opening your makeshift blanket-coat.
“Here, slide in or you’ll freeze yourself to death.”
“I feel like that would bother you” he smirked, but joined you into your cocoon nonetheless. Holding onto one end of the blanket with one of his hands while the other wandered around your waist, pulling you closer to himself. His skin against yours made you shriek at the frozen contact, pushing off him a little bit.
“Hey! You’re cold!” you whined, chuckling at Druig’s slightly hurt face from your recoiling.
His adorable pouty face approached yours as he went to nuzzle your nose, making you giggle at the cold sensation.
“Then can you help me warm up a little? If you don’t, I’ll freeze myself to death like you said so yourself.”
Now your foreheads rested against each other’s, both grinning like idiots, in the winter night, sharing one another’s warmth and presence.
Discreet sweet nothings were whispered, only for the two of you to hear, while the breeze and the crackling of the torches served as a delicate music to your romance, as intense as the weather.

Eden's Favorite Fic's (BTS Fic Recs)
Updated Version: Here!
Note: In the past I haven't indulged in tumblr fics often but I recently (past 3 months) have been reading quite regularly & am planning on branching out a bit. To keep track of the ones that I have enjoyed & the ones that I have even came back to I'm making this list. Again, I haven't been digging into the tumblr fics world for long so for right now its a very short list. I'm hoping with time I can get more fics of different types on here (btsxbts, some gender neutral xreader ones, & more ones that I genuinely like)
About me to understand what's going to be on here:
Age: 21 (99' liner)
Sexuality: Bisexual
Pronouns: She/Her
Ult Bias: Yoongi
Trio: Rap Line
I am OT7. I do enjoy smut but don't think it is necessary to FF. Overall I just want a well-crafted plot that makes sense. I read for entertainment & to escape. But I still need some form of realism (just me personally) to follow the trail of events. PSA: I'm trying to find a broader scope of writers I like but for right now I don't have many. There are gonna be some repetitive writers for now.
______________________________________________________________
Kim Namjoon:
- Librarian Namjoon Universe by @jungshookz
Beauty & the Bookworm (I love this concept SO MUCH)
Pairing: Cute, Good Boy, Nerdy, University Librarian Namjoon x Bratty, Semi-Popular, Procrastinator, University Student Reader
Word count: 20.8k
Summary: You're a procrastinator big time and you may or may not be failing. To get some extra credit you begrudgingly take the library assistant opening where you work under strict dorky Namjoon. Passive aggressiveness, cuteness, fluff, & some smuttiness arises.
Jealous-Boyfriend-Librarian Namjoon (Drabble)
Pairing: Jealous Boyfriend Librarian Namjoon x Oblivious Cute Girlfriend Uni Student Reader
Word count: 3.4k
Summary: You take an Art History Course and end up needing a tutor. Joon offers to tutor you but he doesn't know shit about Art History so you end up getting tutored by an ArtHoe Taehyung that may or may not like you but you are oblivious to this and Joon gets super jealous.
Kim Seokjin:
- Hockey Player Jin by @ve1vetyoongi
HEART OF GOLD (BLADES OF ICE)
Pairing: Sweet Hot New Hockey Player in Town Jin x Ex-Figure Skater (who has a history with jin) Reader
Word count: 20k
Summary: After a fall during figure skating practice dashes your dreams of competing at nationals, you vow to hang up your skates for good. That is until you cross paths with Kim Seokjin, captain of the ice hockey team, who is determined to get you back out on the rink and melt the ice in your heart. (Jimin is a bully in this and their other k-pop idols as characters. Very Very Fluffy and Hallmark Christmas Movie-ish so be aware of that. Overall, it's just cute :) )
Min Yoongi:
Note: these are all but one by the same writer @jungshookz & are written from the pov of a female reader. I'm gonna try to find some gender-neutral fics but for now, if you are female-identifying I really enjoyed these! :)
- Mechanic Yoongi Universe by @jungshookz
Baby, You Can Drive My Car (My favorite AU Fics I've read so far on Tumblr!!)
Pairing: Tatted, Mic Drop Era, Mechanic Min Yoongi x Spoiled Rich, Inexperienced, University Student Reader
Word count: 24.6k
Summary: Welcome to Min Mechanics - What can I do for you today, doll?
Maybe She Can Drive His Car
Pairing: Oblivious, Hot, Boyfriend, Mechanic Min Yoongi x Adorable, Spoiled, University Student, Jealous Girlfriend Reader
Word count: 11.6k
Summary: Yoongi's ex is back in town for a visit and you would be lying if you said you weren't slightly envious of a) how knowledgeable she is about stupid cars and b) how well she gets along with literally everyone.
- Uni Yoongi x Nerdy Reader (mini series) by @jungshookz
Note: these are all drabbles I'm gonna link my favorites in the series. I'll probably add more later.
Cocky Uni Student Yoongi x Nerdy Reader:
^^This is the start of the mini-series, recommend you read it first!^^
The One with the Scrunchie:
Contains: smut, a super cute scrunchie turning into a kink of sorts, slightly insecure Yoongi, experienced Yoongi, slightly inexperienced reader, shy about their own body reader.
Yoongi always had an Overactive Imagination:
Contains: talking about sex, implied smut, reader trying to be productive while also being horny, Yoongi being super distracted and horny.
"I'm gonna need you to shut up now please"
- CEO Yoongi Universe by @jungshookz
Suit&Tie (First Fic in the series)
Pairing: CEO Min Yoongi x Secretary Reader
Wordcount: 21k+
Summary: Young Intimidating Hot CEO Yoongi, Clumsy Secretary Y/N who loves Sugar, Best Friend Jimin. Funny Awkward Meeting that sets up the whole plot, was like reading a Kdrama in book form.
The One Where Augst D makes a Comeback (Favorite Fic in the series)
SPOILERS READ PRIOR DRABBLES TO CATCH UP!! (I recommend The First Date, The One Where Yoongi is Just a Little Jealous, The Proposal, The Wedding, Baby Makes Three, Baby Min's Timeline, The Birth of Baby Min, Daddy's Little Girl, Who the Hell is Augst D.

There ARE pressing issues. Indeed. And in June, you could very well support them while supporting Pride. Like. Retweeting something about them. Like. Posting a message about how we acknowledge that Pride is intersectional and that queer lives matter and racial minority lives matter and gender equality matters etc. Acknowledging the anniversary of the petition and how far it went and thanking everyone that signed. Hell, liking à freaking tweet.
There are many ways to continue to support one or many causes and look *legit* rather than just being One Time Loud during promo season. I /believe/ she's an ally (duh, I'm here) but it also looks kinda cringe if she's only ostensibly an ally when she has something to sell.
i am once again going to refer to be there in five because i think she articulated it well in… i think it’s episode 141 (edit: ep 241 🙈 oops! it’s about 40 mins in, if you want a listen), at one point she said (i’m paraphrasing) that the past few years (ie since covid) have been a big period of growth for a lot of people in regards to social issues. even for people that have always been advocates and activists, it has been a period of time that has magnified and underscored many key problems with our society. it would be one thing for taylor to remain consistently quiet (as many respected celebrities do) on all fronts, however her general quietness (not silence but noticeable quietness) is coming on the tail end of Miss Americana, a documentary who’s key message as taken away by her fans was that taylor was ready to start speaking out on social issues. so there is a dissonance between miss americana taylor and the taylor we have seen (or not really seen) since. and i think a lot of fans, especially through the k*mye thing, really went to bat for taylor when the general public decided taylor was a “bad” person. a lot of people really cut their teeth in maintaining and amplifying that taylor is in fact a “good” person who does “good” things. for these fans, Miss Americana surely felt like a redemption, and acknowledgement and conclusion to an arc that was so formative in their lives. in a way, Lover era was further proof of concept. she began advocating for the queer community, posting more vocally about things, supporting and interacting wider net of fans, etc… but that seemingly all went away the moment her masters were taken.
then the pandemic hits and soon we have people marching for Black lives, and taylor is uber quiet. to the point where she leaves tumblr in perpetuity —a move i worry she will never address— and at one point hands her instagram account over for like a day to an activist but by and large she is gone.
and we can see in folklore a portrait of a taylor that is unbelievably sad. there is a lot of emotion in that album directed at (who i believe are) the people who fucked with her music. there’s epiphany in the mix as well. but she remains super quiet overall. she did the “we will vote you out in november” tweet, and we get the pride post last year and things like “happy pride to you too” but in general the times where she has appeared have been to defend issues related to herself. there’s that business of the bad joke in the netflix show (“happy international womens day i guess 💔”), the tweet in response to the gorillaz guy, etc.
and i think the one thing that has kept a lot of fans afloat or at somewhat of a balance is the idea that she’s been focused on her re-records. now that the momentum for that has been lost, i think it’s left a lot of fans restless
this is by no means an exhaustive recounting of all the related events but i’m assuming we all know the beats so to circle back to the top, bethereinfive said in so many words that long story short, a lot of fans are anxious that they have grown during the pandemic in ways that their idol has not. i would add that i think the parasocial relationship we as a greater fandom have with taylor will lend people to see her as an extension of their own morality. and thus, seeing taylor not do something that you would or associate with people you wouldn’t, etc, feels as if you had lost control of your own body where you thought you previously had it.
now, personally, i still firmly believe that Miss Americana was originally intended to be her coming out documentary. this is just my feeling and i don’t have a well structured argument either than perhaps that we know rep tour chicago was filmed, so there is footage of taylor saying her pride speech that apparently got left on the cutting room floor. and the fact that Lover era was, in general, Gay As Hell.
so while i believe there is a separate discussion to be had about what taylor’s empirical quietness on many social issues means to us as fans, i think at the start that, for a lot of her fans, there has been a grand miscommunication stemming from Miss Americana having been (imo) morphed into a documentary about “finding your voice” or becoming an activist, where maybe that was never taylor’s intention in the first place. to put it another way, she may have unintentionally overpromised on a version of herself that she was not planning to commit to at this time.
once again, a separate conversation can be had about if we like the state of affairs, or if it’s “good” or “bad” to just come out without also defending marginalized communities, but i do think it can be said that the documentary contributed to peoples frustrations.
i think as gaylors, and particularly if you are magically still a kaylor, we are more able to see a greater variety of stressors in taylor’s life that may have been leading to her being checked out at the moment. i have so much empathy for her for so many reasons, she is in a truly singularly complex position and i truly believe if i was in her shoes i would understand it, and i’ve been doing my best to take opportunities when i get perplexed as opportunities to improve my own actions.. ie, focus my energy on what i can control and not what (who) i can’t
but anon, as you said, it’s pretty simple to do a little bit more than what she’s doing now. so in the absence of evidence to the contrary… yeah. 🙈

Kripke: Family (as a source of trauma)
Sam and Dean’s brotherhood and the dichotomy of loving your brother while also disagreeing with him on almost everything at a fundamental level.
Azazel fostering a group of special children to serve in his holy war, and John raising Sam and Dean as soldiers for his holy war.
Filial piety taken to the extreme where any agency is given up. Meg’s blind faith in Azazel and then Lucifer, and Michael’s blind faith in following through with God’s plan for the end.
John Winchester’s legacy of hate and revenge being passed down to his children, Sam and Dean.
Dean, Cas, and Micheal and the consequences of absentee fathers and their sons hopelessly trying to gain approval from them.
Found family that helps emotionally support each other with team free will Sam, Dean, Bobby, and Cas vs the toxicity of the family you are born to. Similar parallel to fate vs free will.
Gamble: Identity (roles we assume vs our authentic self)
Souls as the fundamental particle that establishes our internal compass, but also capable of being lost or weaponized.
Assuming a role at the cost of being authentic:
Dean and Lisa where Dean tries to be a better father to Ben than John was to him
Cas as God where Cas tries to be a better God than the father he never met
Sam as soulless where Sam tries to be a better hunter than John, Dean, or the Campbells ever had been
And Leviathan becoming better capitalists than humans (authentic chameleons that live their best life by assuming whatever form let’s them be the most effective predator)
Carver: Oppression (being a hero to some makes you a villain to everyone else & the only force strong enough to cure oppression is love or total annihilation of the oppressors)
Abuse of power at all levels: Hell, Heaven, Earth
Monsters are shown to be morally complex and an oppressed population
The MoL is a defunct organization of humans that oppressed monsters.
Sam and Dean as the inheritors of the MoL legacy of oppression. They are never redeemed and carry on killing monsters until the end of the series.
Cain saves his brother Abel from damnation, but the cost doomed millions. His only escape was conquering the mark because of the love of one woman.
Naomi overriding the free will of angels by reprogramming them to keep them kowtowed to her agenda for heaven. Cas is able to conquer Naomi’s reprogramming because of the love of one man.
Metatron ejects the angels of Heaven forcing them to live among the people heaven has oppressed in the name of God. The show frames Metatron as a hero and a villain because good and evil can be subjective.
Rowena as the narcissistic mother that sees Crowley as a failure because of her own failings, and attempts to emotionally manipulate and influence his role as king of hell. Eventually Rowena is redeemed by developing genuine love for her son and team free will.
Styne family as a dynasty of white supremacists trying to make a race of superior humans. Their reign of oppression ends with their annihilation by Dean.
Sam clings to faith and hope in a righteous God even though he has suffered his whole life. Sam’s relationship to faith is never resolved through the end of the series.
Light oppressing the Darkness. God’s only sister was kept entombed by her only brother. Love for each other was the only force strong enough to stop their suffering.
Dabb: Fuck if I know???? (Cw: racism, suicide ideation, rape, incest) Dabb era is the most racist era of a very racist show. Other eras were problematic, but at least they attempted to tell a story based on an interesting theme. I cannot, for the life of me, come up with a theme for Dabb that the season wide plots feed into (calling it plot is a misnomer because there really is none in s12-s15, that shit cannot be consumed serially).
Destiel is shamelessly queerbaited, because Dabb has found that the queer and queer ally portion of fandom responds favorably to these crumbs.
BMoL as oppressive but now also British, and a new bunch of white people are added to the cast, because in the Spn universe Britain is solely populated by white people.
Lucifer keeps appearing to antagonize the protagonists, even though his relevance as a legitimate antagonist ended 7+ seasons ago.
Lucifer rapes a woman by posing as her lover. This results in the birth of the Messiah and death of the woman. No one ever seeks justice for Kelly, instead they endlessly obsess over her fetus.
The actor cast as Jack, the Messiah, is yet another white person in a cast full of white people.
Alternate universes are found that are like the main universe but way more boring.
Crowley is killed because Dabb is out of ideas for the character.
Sam and Dean are only interested in finding a way back to the apocalypse universe because their mom got stuck there. They express no desire to find a way back to help the universe where humans are being exterminated. They have completely given up on altruism and are living it up as privileged white people in their bunker mansion.
Black archangel Michael is villainized and loses any of the moral complexity that white archangel Michael exhibits.
Kevin Tran (one of the few recurring PoC), reappears in the Apocalypse universe just to blow himself up as a suicide bomber.
Archangel Gabriel was being kept imprisoned by Colonel Sanders who moonlights as a prince of hell. Does any of this mini arc impact the overall narrative? No. Just more white men added to the story because Dabb can’t figure out where to take the franchise.
Mary Winchester is fridged, yet again, by another yellow eyed supernatural being, so a singular family member can go into a vindictive rage about it.
Canon bisexual God is villainized. I would say for plot reasons, but I have yet to discover anything in s15 resembling a plot.
Main universe Kevin Tran (who sacrificed everything to devote his short life to helping Sam and Dean) reveals that God sent him to Hell all those years ago. Kevin is then doomed to wander Earth as a ghost until he goes insane. At which point, white guy Sam is probably going to kill him sending him back to suffer for eternity in Hell.
Billie, a black woman, becomes Death, a primordial entity and a stronger force than God (will reap God in the end). She is villainized and killed by white men for being committed to keeping the universe in balance and adhering to the natural order. No one seeks justice for her.
W*ncest is shamelessly baited because Dabb has found the portion of fandom that prefers bros as soulmates responds favorably to these crumbs.
Romanticizing suicide in a meta attempt to inform viewers that this show has lived past its useful shelf life and keeping it alive is a punishment to be endured.
Spn Prequel: ??? Not to jinx the prequel but at least it should not be worse than Dabb era.

5 Favourite Books and Films | Winter 2022 Releases
1. Fresh (2022), dir. Mimi Cave ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆
Frustrated by scrolling dating apps only to end up on lame, tedious dates, Noa takes a chance by giving her number to the awkwardly charming Steve after a produce-section meet-cute at the grocery store. (Letterboxd)
This refreshing thriller starring Daisy Edgar-Jones and Sebastian Stan kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time and is easily my favourite film of the year so far. It made me think of all the best parts of You (2018-) and some of the gore in Jennifer’s Body (2009) and I highly recommend it to any thriller lover who isn’t faint of heart. It also features amazing side characters, and Jonica T. Gibbs does an especially amazing job playing Mollie, loved her and the entire film!
2. Love & Other Disasters, by Anita Kelly ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆
Recently divorced and on the verge of bankruptcy, Dahlia Woodson is ready to reinvent herself on the popular reality competition show Chef’s Special. [...] After announcing their pronouns on national television, London Parker has enough on their mind without worrying about the klutzy competitor stationed in front of them. [...] As London and Dahlia get closer, reality starts to fall away. Goodbye, guilt about divorce, anxiety about uncertain futures, and stress from transphobia. Hello, hilarious shenanigans on set, wedding crashing, and spontaneous dips into the Pacific. But as the finale draws near, Dahlia and London’s steamy relationship starts to feel the heat both in and outside the kitchen—and they must figure out if they have the right ingredients for a happily ever after. (Goodreads)
I’m not always the biggest fan of romance novels but this one had my entire heart! It was quite spicy but also heartwarming and with its fast pace, I could hardly put it down! Key words are food play and foot play, make of that what you will. Big recommendation for anyone into (spicy queer) romance!
3. The House (2022), dir. Paloma Baeza, Niki Lindroth von Bahr and Emma De Swaef, Marc James Roels ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆
Across different eras, a poor family, an anxious developer and a fed-up landlady become tied to the same mysterious house in this animated dark comedy. (Letterboxd)
These three short stories all creeped me out in some way or another and in doing so, left a big impact on me. The animation styles are gorgeous and it’s near impossible to stop watching once you’ve started. On top of that does it have incredible soundtrack. I highly recommend to anyone who likes animation and Tim Burton.
4. Turning Red (2022), dir. Domee Shi ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆
Thirteen-year-old Mei is experiencing the awkwardness of being a teenager with a twist – when she gets too excited, she transforms into a giant red panda. (Letterboxd)
This!!! Watch this!!! Nothing made me happier than seeing a bunch of nerdy kids hang out and obsess over famous boy bands. The generational trauma and struggles of growing up are made into such a wonderful and accessible film that I can’t recommend enough. No more period erasure, thank you. This film is important and fun and I hope everyone cares as much for this as I do.
5. Kimi (2022), dir. Steven Soderbergh ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆
During the COVID-19 pandemic in Seattle, an agoraphobic tech worker discovers evidence of a violent crime while reviewing a data stream, and is met with resistance and bureaucracy when she tries reporting it to her company. To get involved, she realizes she must face her greatest fear by venturing out of her apartment and into the city streets, which are filled with protestors in the wake of the city council passing a law restricting the movements of the homeless population. (Letterboxd)
Finally, the thriller that was so exciting but didn’t entirely stress me out as most thrillers tend to do. Kimi did a great job at portraying mental health issues and how the pandemic further impacted that. Zoë Kravitz is an incredibly talented actress and a pleasure to see on the screen, and she truly carried this role. Overall, not the most groundbreaking story but a solid watch nevertheless!

Hey hey bae, congrats to 500 you totally deserve it <3
First I have a 🧸 and a couple of questions
* If you could choose any song to describe your life currently which one would it be?
* How would you describe your ideal day?
* How would you describe your sense of style?
* If you could live anywhere where would you live?
And some CYMAs, I’ll be back with another ask again so stay tuned <3 but CYMA as
* Types of weather
* Cm characters
* Colors
* Emily Prentiss eras (like her in different seasons if you get what I mean)
Anyways see you soon for my next ask bae and ily <3
if i could pick any song to currently describe my life it would be “i wanna get better” by the bleachers
my ideal day would have to include an equal balance of relaxation and productivity
for my style, a lot of it consists of clothes that i can’t afford lol but when i have no special reason to dress up i just like being comfy you know? if you live with me you could catch me in shorts and a t-shirt or sweats. there’s no in between. but like i said, the style i want is currently out of my budget
if i could live anywhere, it would probably have to be france
cyma: again, to save me the energy i don’t have i’m just tagging the supersquad lol
weather (i went all out for this one lol) :
@sweetprentiss - a springlike atmosphere where the sun is shining down warm against your skin and the light breeze in the air provides a cool contrast as it blows through the wild wisps of your hair. where the foggy mornings are bright with life from crickets singing in meadows and frogs leaping on the lillypads of the glistening waters. the aroma is thick and sweet and you’re surrounded by freshly bloomed flowers resting with dew drops on their petals. the sun herself is rising in the east, yet the moon still watches over you until she has finally arrived. you lay in the open field as a feeling of hope consumes you and you get lost in daydreams
@alexbllake - when the snow is falling heavy, yet gracefully, under the dark sky. the only sound immanent being the distant wind chimes caused by the howling blizzard and the faint melodic voices of carolers echoing throughout the neighborhood. the night itself is silent, while snowflakes as big as coins hit the ground peacefully. your breath visible as it escapes your mouth and travels past your frostbitten nose and lingers above the crystallized snow in your lashes. you take a step inside your home only to be instantly comforted by the warm of the fireplace in the corner. you sit next to your lover and cuddle on the sofa as you watch a corny christmas movie and sip your hot cocoa, feeling nothing but utter contentment
@ssajemilyprentiss - you’re the epitome of radiated happiness on a hot summer’s day. the inviting swimming pools and oceans that cool off our heated bodies. the vibrant sensation of ferris wheels and carnivals on the boardwalk, the relaxation of longer days and brighter nights filled with endless fireflies and fireworks. when families gather for barbecues and the charcoal of the grill fills the air. the time where little kids play at parks with their melted popsicles and ice cream cones, laughing and screaming as they imagine other worlds and ignore their realities. where refreshing juices of lemons are turned into ice cold lemonade and the colorful hues of seasonal berries are being picked and tossed into woven baskets for future recipes. just the overall feeling of endless possibilities
@taralewiz - the time of pumpkin spice scented candles and oversized sweaters. no wind, yet there’s still a light chill in the air as you walk through piles of colorful leaves. hearing them crunch beneath your feet as you sip on the hot cup of tangy apple cider in your gloved hands. the warmth and excitement of hayrides and bonfires, and roasting fluffy marshmallows over open flames. hearing the trees dance together as their leaves crash amongst themselves and break away only to race towards the ground below. eerie nights in october where new personas waltz around the neighborhood in search of their next trick or treat. feeling nothing but thrill and adrenaline from the spooky facades and haunted nothings of adventure. finally feasting on the hearty delectables of being thankful for new beginnings and feeling comforted by being home with family
i think i did cyma criminal minds characters already so i’m going to skip this one if that’s alright
colors: @taralewiz is vibrant red, @sweetprentiss is like peachy pink, @alexbllake is warm aqua, and you my dear are soft lime green <3
emily prentiss eras:
@taralewiz - lauren reynolds (no explanation needed)
@sweetprentiss - season 5 (the pony tails and turtlenecks were everything)
@alexbllake - season 11 (cause you’re the oldest of our group and that woman ages like fine wine. also because i wouldn’t dare cast you as prentiss’ wig era lol)
@ssajemilyprentiss - season 4 (the reason for this decision is simple: bangs)
i’m casting myself as season 3 emily because i’m the youngest in our group chat so baby emily seemed fitting lol
#thank you for sending these! it was fun! <3#felicia✌🏻#my bae all day everyday 💋✨#cyma 🪄#harley hits 500 🍾

re: Fantasy Recs
riseoftherose said: If you don’t mind a slightly younger aimed author, I still enjoy a series I first read as a kid, always thought it deserved more rep. The Land of
Sorry friend, it looks like your rec got cut off a bit there.
msprufrock said: Also aimed slightly younger, but I really enjoyed Akata Witch (and the sequel Akata Warrior) by Nnedi Okorafor. It’s a YA fantasy series set in Nigeria
Oh nice. Sounds like fun. Scarlet Odyssey is also set in a very Africa-like world, really loved that.
gerundsandcoffee said: I liked Uprooted by Naomi Novik. It’s a stand alone original but heavily rooted in Eastern European folklore.
I think I might have read that one. It sounds familiar. I’ll have to look again. Thanks!
solysgoldensun said: The Invisible Library series by Genevieve Cogman is pretty fun, involving dragons, fae, and librarians (oh my!) in a multiverse semi-portal fantasy deal with steam punk elements.
Oh nice. I’ve got a little bit of a weakness for steampunkish-ness. (oh, bonus, the first book was only $2.99. I picked it up. thanks!)
anomaly-nerd said: The Goblin Emperor by Katherine Addison is my current favorite. It’s a little plot heavy but the worldbuilding is fantastic and the protagonist is impossible not to love
I don’t mind plot-heavy if I feel like it’s going somewhere. Love good worldbuilding, though. So great.
Anonymous said: I highly recommend Temeraire. That series was amazing. It's 9 books, complete storyline that begins in Napoleonic Wars era Europe and then expands into almost every continent. It was just mwah *chef's kiss*. The lead characters (one human, one dragon) are both absolutely adorkable and I thoroughly enjoyed every chapter. There are serious matters and some dark chapters, but it's a very optimistic series overall, not grimdark in the least.
Oh, thank you for reminding me of that one! I have the first one, I think I read it when it came out, but I never followed up on the rest of the series.
emilise284 said: any/all of Diana Wynne Jones’s works: Howl’s Moving Castle, Dogsbody, and Fire and Hemlock are among my favorites.
Robin McKinley is also gr9, I especially love Pegasus and Chalice
if you’re looking for recent fantasy Gideon the Ninth (and sequel, Harrow the Ninth) by Tamsyn Muir are GREAT fun and very gay (but also maybe edging a lil further towards grimdark than you’re in the mood for rn)
Cool. Thank you!
backwardsandinhighheels said: For urban fantasy, I’ve really enjoyed the Guild Codex series by Annette Marie - funny with found family vibes and slooow burn romances, and the heroine of Spellbound is a normal human girl in a magic guild which gives me serious Darcy vibes
That sounds like a lot of fun. Thanks. (score, the first one is $3.99 and has Margarita in the title. Can’t go wrong there. I grabbed it.)
lady-of-luthien said: The first fantasy author I really got into was Tamora Pierce. She writes a lot of YA stuff. Song of the Lioness, The Immortals, and Protector of the Small series. All awesome.
Oh yes, I read some of those. Definitely fun.
furyleika said: Absolutely second Robin McKinley, particularly The Blue Sword and The Hero and the Crown. Also Tamora Pierce. If you don’t mind younger aimed, my absolute favorites of all time are Patricia C. Wrede’s Enchanted Forest Chronicles. Anne McCaffrey’s Pern novels straddle the fantasy/sci-fi line depending where in the timeline you’re reading. The Harper Hall series is a great starting point.
I also really like Garth Nix’s Old Kingdom series. They may be closer to grim than not, but things turn out okay! Way less depressing than GRRM. I liked Holmberg’s Paper Magician series if you haven’t read that from her.
Swordheart from T. Kingfisher is awesome and funny and romantic. It says it’s in the same series as something else of hers, but I didn’t read those and enjoyed it anyways. Okay, I’ll stop. (Oh wait! Have you read Neil Gaiman’s stuff? I like almost all of it.)
Oh, I’ve totally read Anne McCaffrey, very into Pern back in ye olden tymes.
I have the Paper Magician, but I haven’t read it yet. I just finished Spellbreaker/Spellmaker and I wanted to try somebody else first.
T. Kingfisher sounds familiar, but I don’t recognize any of the titles (maybe I read Clockwork Boys, that sounds really familiar. Or I started to read it and got distracted and forgot -- this happens). I will check out Swordheart.
Garth Nix sounds familiar, too (I am bad with names, so this happens a lot, too). I’ll check out the first one. Thanks!
And, yes, I’ve read all the Neil Gaiman things lol.

If J/YA isn’t your jam, try Mercedes Lackey; HIGHLY prolific fantasy writer. Some of her stuff is a little dated now, but gosh a lot of it is still awesome. I particularly like her Arrows of the Queen trilogy.
Oh, yes, definitely I’ve ready Mercedes Lackey. Back in ye olden days with Anne McCaffrey and Terry Brooks (I was very into the Shannara books in high school).
gothfirefaerie said: If you like amazing world building and word porn I can not recommend Patricia a McKillip enough! My favorites are alphabet of thorn, fantastic beasts of eld and ombria in shadow. Also great for world building is Michelle Sagara and her chronicles of elantra but while I wouldn’t call them grimdark they are heavy.
Those sound fun. Thank you. Love worldbuilding.
owl-librarian said: Have you done any Terry Pratchett? He’s the right kind of fantasy for me, definitely not too heavy “high fantasy” - and full of real characters and great humor! If you are intimidated by his Oeuvre start with “Guards! Guards!” or “The Wee Free Men”
Oh yes, absolutely. Great fun.
owl-librarian said: I also highly suggest the Bordertown books edited by Ellen Datlow and Terri Windling; it was a shared world created back in the 80s for authors to play in - there are several short story collections and a couple of novels set in this town that is the border between our world and faerie. It was revived in the 2010s with Ellen and Holly Black in another short story collection.
That sounds familiar, but I don’t think I ever read any of it. Thank you, I’ll check it out.

Awesome. Thank you.
lover-of-the-starkindler said: *nods along for most of the recs and takes notes of the others* Summers at Castle Auburn by Sharon Shinn is good; Perilous Gard by Elizabeth Marie Pope is a Tam Lin retelling set in Elizabethan England and is amazing; Woodwalker by Emily B. Martin if you like sneaking through forests and political plots…
Sweet, thank you.
Thanks everybody I will check out all of your lovely recs.

I woke up at 5am, saw these in my inbox, and just started cackling to myself okay here are my thoughts (and I will also address these individually)
okay so this album is folklore but More Of It
there’s this line from a francesca lia block book I read as a kid:
“If Los Angeles is a woman reclining billboard model with collagen-puffed lips and silicone-inflated breasts, a woman in a magenta convertible with heart-shaped sunglasses and cotton candy hair; if Los Angeles is this woman, then the San Fernando Valley is her teenybopper sister. The teenybopper sister snaps bug stretchy pink bubbles over her tongue and checks her lipgloss in the rearview mirror, . . . Teeny plays the radio too loud and bites her nails, wondering if the glitter polish will poison her.”
this is obviously not perfectly applicable to the situation at hand but this is what popped into my head while I was listening, which is that evermore is folklore’s little sister and folklore is cooler and better/has stronger individual tracks but evermore is definitely welcome to come along and hang out (it’s also kinda like... folklore with winter vibes). I’m definitely not mad at getting more of the same!!! but if it were me I’d have been like “hey guys this is folklore part II: 2 folksy 2 loresome” or something like that, because while there are some experiments here in terms of sound, I don’t think it will ever be considered as a standalone work without comparison to folklore
I have tickets to loverfest west which has obviously been delayed, and now I’m like what concert am I even going to attend?? I’m down to go to a folklore/evermore concert OR a lover/past works concert but?? not both?? the atmosphere would be very confusing
which is topical because to the first anon who thinks taylor is leaving the music industry: I disagree and I know you’re probably getting that impression based on her saying she doesn’t know what she’s doing next, but to me that just meant more along the lines of what ts era we’re in or what she’s going to perform next or how she’s going to promote three untoured albums or what she’ll perform at her next tour. I think she made it quite clear music is her primary love, so I don’t think she’s going anywhere. she did say planning her sets and stuff is a separate creative energy that she hasn’t even begun to consider yet, so I personally think that’s what she meant—since yeah, some of us have tickets to a concert where we don’t even know what will be played
if anything, I think this album is further proof that songwriting is the love of her life and she’s not especially gearing up for anything in particular in terms of her career by releasing it; she just has time on her hands that she wouldn’t normally have had due to tours and promotion, so now she’s doing what she loves without much concern for its profitability (although I assume folklore proved there isn’t much concern to be had as far as profits)
my favorite song BY FAR is “’tis the damn season,” which initially reminded me of cecily and porter from Saints and Liars (one of the stories in The Answer You Are Looking For is Yes) but the third anon is right, by the time I was almost done with my first listen I was like oh shit this is totally Never-Blink! I can’t unsee that now and also i now want to go back and read my own damn story
other songs I enjoy are “willow,” “gold rush” (I love jack antonoff, any time I look to see who co-wrote the song and it’s him I’m like I frickin knew it)
“tolerate it” has really standout lyrics I think, as does “marjorie”
I enjoy “long story short” a lot because it’s a welcome break after songs that are pretty but sort of difficult to distinguish from each other
“ivy” initially kind of reminded me of Lover from Draught of Living Death, but I’d have to listen again since it’s one of the songs that keeps mixing with the others in my head
I think “no body no crime” is really fun although I sort of wish she went a little harder, maybe brought on the dixie chicks or something? ALSO if I were still in an a cappella group I would mash-up “no body no crime” and “should’ve said no” and it would be GREAT ugh I hope somebody does that like, asap. but I’m happy she collaborated with women and that the result is we killed a man! 🥳
I do NOT like “coney island.” I’m just really not into the national and I don’t think their voices blend very well (I also don’t think taylor’s voice is as compelling when she’s in that lower register) and I was glad bon iver sang in falsetto because I was kind of bracing for another low disruption and I didn’t want it on a track as delicate as “evermore”
@junipernott it’s so funny you say that because as I was listening to it I was like this sounds exactly like something I would write—I obviously write a lot of heists/con artists, both in books and fics (Prospero from Lovely Tangled Vices comes to mind) but then I couldn’t think of anything that exactly fit the parameters of the song, so now I’m like WELL looks like I’ll have to write something then!
overall I think folklore is the stronger album; a lot of the standout pieces on both albums are tay’s more personal songs and evermore is predominantly meandering fiction, so to me it’s less remarkable as a whole rather than simply proof that she’s very good at this. that being said I’ll probably combine the albums into one playlist and listen to them together henceforth, so I’m definitely not mad about it
Iong story STILL LONG: i like it a lot, it’s a vibe and an atmosphere and living in it is great
but also don’t overlook the fact that britney spears and the backstreet boys have a collab that came out today because okay, TALK ABOUT COMING BACK STRONGER THAN A NINETIES TREND
#taylor swift conspiracy theories#saints and liars#the answer you are looking for is yes#lovely tangled vices#never-blink#lover#draught of living death

[Excerpt] Long after the lives of the lovers had past, the kingdom fell to ruin, stuck by a great disaster out of anyone's control. Another kingdom would rise, and fall, in its place, just as others had in the past. It would face problems like its predecessors once did, and would be given hope by the few glorious souls that rallied the masses and dared to fight for their values. Yes, the kingdom they fought for would fall too. Yes their hardship would essentially equate to nothing in the ultimate infinity of the universe. But, in their short existences, they tried and did their best to make a difference in their time. They made a difference to those around them. They made a difference in the course of history They made a difference in each other’s lives. And in their end, they had love. What other end could be more joyous than to die in love?
[Ana and Jack rejoin Overwatch. Jack finds himself becoming closer and closer to Reinhardt, who had been pining for years.]
AO3 Link
Long ago, there existed a kingdom in a forest. It was breathing the breaths of life in it's newfound status and growth. It was prosperous, stable. At some point in its history, it began a cruel conquest, fueled by the memories of it's suffering from a recent war. It feared that suffering, and sought to ensure that it would never suffer again.
-
Reinhard stood at the resting place of his master. He remembers his sacrifice. An honorable death. A death that perhaps could have been avoided if he wasn't so cocky and such a honor hungry glutton. That bit of guilt always resided in him. This is part of the reason he fulfilled his master's last duty. It was the least he could do.
It is bittersweet, but his master's unfortunate death allowed him to become a better person. It was this passed down, sacred duty given to him from his felled master that led to him experiencing and learning so much. It allowed him to meet many great people who he would never forget. It was for the gift of those memories that he would always honor his duty and answer the call. He would keep the memory of his master alive. He would not let it be forgotten.
The scans were completed a while ago, so all that was left to do was pay his respects. He left the medallion entrusted to him all those years ago on the armrest. A piece of those memories for his old friend to hold onto, memories that perhaps could have been his.
-
Long ago, there existed a forest kingdom. It was ruled by a king favored by many. He brought forth a new era. He was spurred by the memories of old stories he heard in his youth, among them, stories of a grand and prosperous kingdom. He desired to bring those stories to life as much as he could, and he did.
-
Jack stared at the photo, an old thing that managed to withstand the passage of time and preserve distant memories. So many memories, all filled with so many emotions, many of them never to be felt again, forever just a memory. Yet, it was the memories incited by that photo that spurned him in a seemingly distant past. Even in the present, they still provoked him to fight on.
Ana understood this well, perhaps even more so. Her husband, her daughter, available to her only in memories. Yet, they compelled her to continue the fight more than anything. She never needed to ask why he stared at it in silence for so long, caressing the worn edges. She knew that despite wanting more, they were still content enough with their current lives. He had kept tabs on Vincent, and learned that moved on, and was living a good happy life. She had kept tabs on Fareeha and Sam, and saw that they had come to do just fine.
All was well in the end. The ghosts who were kept alive by memories were accepting of their afterlife in the physical realm. That was, until their shared ghost had come back to life to haunt them. A recall was issued for Overwatch, and suddenly, there was an opportunity to face the present and future, to no longer be bound by the past. At least, that’s how Ana saw it. She wanted to see her daughter, even if she was doing what she had never hoped the girl would do. But, what child always listens to their parents?
She expressed her desire to Jack, just to learn that the stubborn fool desired differently. She honestly expected as much. Their time as ghosts were over. The Shrike and Soldier: 76 had to cease their existence, even if just for a moment, so that Ana Amari and Jack Morrison could face the present: the reality where their dreams were long gone, replaced by the truth, cold and hard it may be at first. Cold and hard it may even always be, but it is the truth.
She decided that she would leave, with or without him. She wanted to face reality so that she could have a decent future, what would remain of it, at least. She wasn’t getting any younger, and she knew it. Still, she tried to convince him one last time. She was his friend, and only wanted the best for him, be it a whack to the back of his head, or a hug.
“Overwatch was our home, Jack. It still is. It is our family. Are you really going to abandon it now that you have this second chance?” she questioned.
“You know as well as I do it was a lot more than just that.” he replied. There was Blackwatch, for starters. And Overwatch was an international organization with the power to help and hinder many, for better or worse. Eventually, it toppled under the weight it carried. When it fell, it was evident it was something the world no longer needed. Talon and its adversaries had bested the organization as well, proving to Jack that it could not be dealt with in the light. Yet…
“Even so, we have a chance to live, to help others learn from the mistakes we made. Will you even abandon that duty just so you can mope all day and beat someone up now and then? The dead can only affect the living so much, Jack. There will come a day when you will truly die. Will you be content to die as someone forgotten, content to die a miserable, delusional old man? You know when I’ll be leaving. You’re welcome to stay here as long as you like, and know that you’ll be missed, again.”
With that, she left him to think. He had been alone for so long, it hardly seemed to matter anymore. But, she had a point. Was he really alright with dying alone. In the crisis, he had his fellow soldiers to live and die with. He was fortunate enough to be among the survivors. In Overwatch, he did not enter the battlefield much anymore. It was indeed lonely at the top, being pulled away from his friends, family, and love. For what? He wasn’t sure anymore. Even so, he was never truly alone. Gabe and Ana were still with him, more often for work related reasons than not, but still. Vincent, the understanding man he was, still loved him despite how often he was away. Jack loved him too, still did, in a way different than before, but it was love all the same.
He considered that she was perhaps right, calling him miserable and delusional. His time as a ghost among mortals was miserable. Even as Strike Commander, working seemingly endless hours, he was able to find moments of repose. A calm night with Vincent, a huge dinner with Ana and Gabe and their families, a simple thank-you letter handed to him from a promising trainee. There was none of that as a ghost.
He missed that, more than he wanted to admit. Did he really think this was how he wanted to live? Even if he wouldn't have any of that if he returned to the living, there were other things life had to offer. He feared he could lose even that too. But, he had to try, didn’t he? That was what he had always done. There was no reason to stop now, especially not in the name of fear. What kind of soldier would he be otherwise? A dead one, that’s what.
-
The kingdom went across the lands, conquering and destroying any who opposed it. Soon, their conquest had ended. They gained a vast amount of land, inhabited by an array of peoples. These people were now people of the kingdom, and the people of the kingdom did not suffer. The people of the forest forgot this.
-
Reinhardt and Brigitte were the first, aside from Lena, to respond to the call. After their short flight, they were at their new base, the base of the new Overwatch. Reinhardt had been there at Gibraltar before, though not often. He remembered it as mostly uneventful, but great for his tan. There, he and Brigitte met up with Winston and Lena. By all definitions, this was the gorilla’s home, and a second home to Lena. It was great to see some familiar faces. Being the only ones to have currently “officially” rejoined Overwatch, Winston and Lena were excited to give them a tour of the new base of operations. It was a work in progress, one knight and his squire would be happy to help complete.
That night, over dinner, they discussed who they thought would answer the call and show up. Winston noted that Angela and Genji were likely candidates, and Mei was en route after a trek through the Antarctic and traveling across the world. They also imagined Torbjorn would be joining, and Ana’s daughter if she caught wind of the revival. Aside from them, it was anyone’s bet as to who would answer the call. It may not be a lot of people, but it was a start, and that was all they would need. Their first mission was already set for a few months time, leaving plenty of time for people to answer, and to work on the base.
Torbjorn was the next to arrive, to the great joy of Brig and Rein. His engineering expertise was invaluable. After that, came Mei. Only Torbjorn and Winston knew her beforehand. Tracer, Brig, and Rein had found her very agreeable, very clearly a wonderful woman who would fit right in. She became incorporated into their friend group in no time. After her, to everyone’s surprise, was Echo, renowned creation of Mina Liao and overall a great companion.
Before they knew it, their first mission came and went, a stunning success. It was no surprise that Fareeha showed up at their doorstep soon after. Rein remembered her very well. She was an adorable little one who loved heroism, and grew into a fine, strong woman. He would play with her with Mcree every now and then.
While he was glad she was among them, fulfilling her lifelong dream, he could not help but feel that he was a bit alone. Among brilliant minds and an advanced AI, he stood out. Fareeha was similar to him, just a simple soldier, but much younger than him, so not as relatable. He was very close to Torbjorn and Brig as well, but he still could not help but feel that something was missing. He realized what it was when Torbjorn had bought it up one night, when it was just them sharing a few drinks. Or rather, Torb had directly said what it was.
Ana, Gabriel, Jack. Things were just not the same without them. Even as things got rough towards the end, they were still family. As Torb had put it, they were as core to Overwatch as “a nano-thermal heat sink was to a intra-dynamic processor module.” Reinhardt could only assume the man was correct. His knowledge of technology and such was minimal, just enough to keep up his armor and hammer by himself. Even then, he trusted Brig to take care of it better than himself. He was just a soldier after all. A Crusader, yes, but a simple soldier all the same. He was only taught what was necessary for battle, same as his long dead companions.
Yet, they still stood out among even the best. Rein supposed he was much the same though. By all means, he was an accomplished man. He could have retired and lived the rest of his life as a distinguished soldier during the Omnic Crisis and honorably discharged member of Overwatch. No. He decided to continue fighting on, to eventually die a warrior’s death, as Balderich had, as Jack, Ana, and Gabriel had. He imagined they would have done the same, except for maybe Ana. In all fairness, she did not have super soldier juice in her, and had a family. Rein certainly wouldn't have blamed her.
That night, as he lay in his bed, he remembered back to the days and nights they all shared together. The revelry of a victory, the woe of loss, the small moments that are difficult to remember, but the feelings they contain never forgotten. Eventually, his mind wandered to the first time he met them, there in Gibraltar.
It was a great honor to be working with them to aid in the creation of a better world for all. They all responded accordingly, in their own way of course. It was when Jack greeted him did Reinhardt swear he fell in love. He did not realize it at first, but he would realize it soon enough. He knew it was a bad idea to fall for your superior, but he did nonetheless. There was something about his smile and the way he spoke.
Hearing that the man had a boyfriend both gave him hope, and crushed him a little. On one hand, he wouldn't be pining after a straight guy, on the other, Jack was taken. Rein might wield a smashing hammer, but he was no homewrecker. Over the years, he would only fall for the Strike Commander more and more.
Yet, for all his bravery, he never told another soul. It is the simple things that time takes away: small yet warm memories, the first time he ever kissed another some time while a soldier, the voice of a friend from his youth. However, his love for Jack was not simple. Thus, it persisted.
-
The king, fueled by the memories of stories, forgot he resided in the present, in reality. His enemies knew where they resided. By the time he realized he could not attain the greatness he desired, he was fine. He had learned how to deal with reality, and did his best to bring what he could of those stories into reality. It was not easy, but with the memories of his people, he did what he could, and created new memories in the process.
-
When Jack and Ana had arrived at the Watchpoint, it was well on its way to sliding into the ocean. Smoke bellowed in places as agents, many of them familiar faces, fought off what were obviously Talon forces. Ana rolled her eye, always sure the organization would have collapsed without her. It did fall after she was “killed,” so she might have been onto something.
Without hesitation, they joined the fray as unknown, masked combatants, proving who they sided with very quickly. They eventually found themselves split from each other, nothing concerning in the slightest. Ana found herself working alongside her daughter, the memorable cowboy, and an omnic she recognized as reminiscent of an OR-15 model. She made sure to keep her children healthy in between getting acquainted with the omnic and sleeping any fools who dared get close.
Meanwhile, Jack found himself fighting alongside the Crusader, an ancient bastion unit, and one very talented, very short, engineer. The giant crusader tried to make small talk with him, but Jack repeatedly responded with a noncommittal grunt or with something basic and unrevealing. Despite this, the German remained as friendly as ever, just as Jack had remembered. He had found the man to be loud, but never really minded so long as he wasn’t having a bad day. If it was one of those days, which were frequent towards the end, he would kindly lower his voice, which honestly wasn’t particularly quiet. Regardless, it was a greatly appreciated gesture when he felt so underappreciated himself.
Eventually, the battle reached its conclusion. Talon robots lay defeated, their remains would later reveal useful information. A few enemy ships were making their escape, Tracer chasing after them in hopes of being able to land a tracker on at least one of them. And to top it all off, Widowmaker had been captured. However, the one known as the Reaper had escaped, as they would learn in a hastily thrown together meeting with some refreshments. It was then that The Shrike and Soldier: 76 spoke up.
“The Reaper is a strong foe, though a dumb one.” the Shrike spoke. “Dumb fool…”
“We also know him as Gabriel Reyes, former head of Blackwatch.” 76 revealed. He was immediately bombarded with questions of how he could say such a thing without any evidence. Not only that, Gabriel had been long dead after all.
“You’d be surprised at how hard it is to kill an old soldier.” she responded, taking off her mask to reveal her face. Of course, her daughter was the first to recognize her.
“… Mom?” Fareeha asked. “You’re… alive.” Her mother nodded her head. A wide variety of emotions covered Fareeha’s face as she stormed out the room. Ana sighed.
“Well, if you’ll excuse me, I have to deal with this. I’m sure you all understand.” she said with the nonchalant wave of a hand as she went after her daughter. A moment of silence followed, all eyes eventually shifting to the masked man who arrived with her.
“You… I know who you are then! You’re Jack!” Reinhardt shouted, pointing a large finger at the man.
“…”
“Ahh! Your silence isn’t hiding anything old friend!” he bellowed, moving a few steps to give him a heavy pat on the back, making the smaller man slightly off balanced for a moment. “It is great to have you back.” he said more softly with a warm smile. Somehow, it made Jack soften up a little.
“It…” he began, taking off his mask before continuing. “It’s nice to see you too Reinhardt.”
-
It was not until they saw their memories played out by the people they conquered, who were now people of the kingdom, that they remembered this. The conquered lands were given an option, they could receive reparations and sever their ties to the kingdom, or receive one half of the reparations and join the forest kingdom in a coalition. They would form a single kingdom, each land in the kingdom equal in power. Many refused. They survived just fine. Those that joined experienced the mixing and melding of their memories that, as a result, birthed new memories reminiscent of their old ones
-
In the following months, things began to return to normal. The base was quickly rebuilt thanks to the help of friends around the world. More recruits, of faces old and new, had joined as well. Sojourn, Genji and the cyborg's brother were now a part of Overwatch. Other new faces included a friend of Winston’s from the moon, a freedom fighter who utilized the power of music and sonic technology, and a combat medic who was once a part of Talon. Meanwhile, Angela was making progress towards reverse engineering the brainwashing process so she could help Amile.
Ana had slowly been warming up to Fareeha, who was rightfully angry at her mother for deciding to leave. It saddened Ana, but was sure things would be alright in time. In the meantime, Overwatch provided her with a decent amount of work, be it missions, training, or catching up. It was decidedly better than being a ghost, but Hawai'i seemed much more tempting at times. However, she did find much joy in sharing what she had learned over the years to the younger ones, and had definitely missed gossiping at a base over tea. Vishkar representative Satya and former yakuza prince Hanzo proved to be good company in such a pastime.
Jack, on the other hand, was well in his element. He was no longer the Strike Commander, back to being a regular old soldier. Though, his insight from his past experience proved valuable of course. He soon found himself being happier with a smile on his face more often than not. He had Reinhardt to frequently thank for that. They seemed to bond over being two stubborn old soldiers. It was something Jack wished he had the time for back then, but, he had the present to do that now.
Rein was funnier than he remembered. There was also something about him that made Jack want to spend more time with the Crusader. Perhaps it was his hearty laughs that captured the attention of all, or the frequent nights they would spend together sharing a friendly drink, talking about the good and bad of their pasts, ultimately finding comfort in each other through the virtue that they weren’t so alone anymore. Perhaps it was because the man was an inspiration, a glorious sight to those who wished for hope. Jack had been one such person for a long time.
-
It was during these times did the great king reign. During all this, he was aided by many people who cared for him dearly. His mission of dreams and reality left little room for love in his life, even refusing beneficial marriages as he did not want to be an absent husband. Yet, after many years, he came to realize that there was in fact someone he loved: a knight of great renown who hailed from a conquered kingdom that joined the coalition. However, the king did not confess his love. It was only when the knight lay near death did he reveal his feelings. Perhaps it was that admission that spurned the knight to fight off death. Perhaps he would have lived regardless. What is known is that they kept their taboo love a secret.
-
This mission was supposed to be an easy one. Both soldiers should have known better than to expect things to be easy, but they were so confident in their teammates, and each other. They had been separated from the group, fighting their way to the drop point to escape. Comms went down after the order was issued to retreat and the coordinates were given. Hacked. Hopefully, the ship they were using to escape wouldn't be hacked.
The Talon machines were typically weak things, but plentiful. The sheer volume of them was what made things difficult. Jack could shoot all day, Reinhardt would hold his shield for as long as it could, and turn machines to scrap when it came to it. It was when his shield was down did his friend get hurt. A bullet to the chest, another to the leg with lots of blood flowing from it. He immediately rushed to the man, scooping him up, holding him close as he ignored the enemies and charged for the escape point. Rein didn’t know if he himself would make it.
“You know… you’re a good man, Rein.”
“Save your breath. I’ll get you to the doctors soon.” he assured.
“Heh. I think… this is fate. A warrior’s death… Honorable, and all that.”
Reinhardt remained silent. A warrior’s death was indeed honorable, but also sad, so very sad. But, at least Jack’s would not be lonely. No. There was no room for such thoughts. He steeled his resolve.
“No. You won’t be dying today! I love you too much to let you die like this!” he announced. I don’t want to lose you!
Just then, the machines froze, as if by command, their glows shifting from red to purple. Rein did not care why. If they were down, they were down. That’s all that mattered. He eventually arrived at the ship, Baptiste and Angela already there. Quickly, they shifted their attention to Jack. Fareeha was already patched up, leaving her to check Rein for any major wounds, thankfully none. His armor had served its purpose. Winston had suffered only minor injuries, and could patch himself up.
Rein could only pray and watch as the two doctors worked their gruesome yet incredible magic. Hearing that he would need a blood transfusion was concerning, but he had faith in the doctors, and hope. He could not bear the alternatives. He did not want to have to actually bury his friend again so soon like this.
It was fortunate that he and Jack shared the same blood type. He did not hesitate to offer his blood. He would never hesitate to sacrifice his blood for those he loved and wished to protect. All he could do was somberly wait, his eyes fixated on the man pale as a ghost.
They arrived back at the base where he was given more thorough treatment. Rein hated that he had to be pulled away from his fellow soldier, but he needed to be examined too, and they couldn’t risk his blood levels getting too low. They had all they needed at the base. All he could do was wait once more.
When he returned to Jack, he was still asleep on the bed in the medical ward. That night, he stood by Jack’s side, falling asleep in a chair was just barely a bit too small. He had the oddest dream that night, one of an ancient king and his lover, a knight.
When he awoke, Jack was still asleep, machines methodically beeping and droning quietly. But, Jack was still alive, and some color had returned to his face. Throughout the day, many came to visit, Brigitte and Torbjorn bringing breakfast, Ana, Winston and Lena drinking lunch, and Fareeha and Mcree bringing dinner. They all recalled old memories and stories, wishing for the best when they left.
It was a few hours after Fareeha and Mcree had left when Rein noticed that he began to stir. He shouted for one of the medics as he quickly returned to focus on Jack. Baptiste was the one to show up.
“What…”, Jack groaned, “Where... am I?”
“Safe and sound, that’s where. You took some pretty nasty hits back there. Let’s see…” the combat medic said as he pulled up the patient notes. “Major blood loss, damage to a major artery, punctured lung. Yup. Pretty nasty. Thanks to our friend here, you’ll live. Hmm, and thanks to some super soldier serum, apparently.” he noted. “Well, you should be good as new by the morning. Rest until then, and take it easy after. We’ll go over it tomorrow.”
“Right. Thanks doc.” he said as Bap began to walk away.
“Finally!” he gasped. “Someone thanked me! You’re welcome. Oh, and maybe get some actual food in you. Holler if you need anything, One of us will answer.” he finished with a wave goodbye.
Once the doctor left the vicinity, Rein practically jumped to pull Jack into a killer hug.
“Ah, thank goodness you will be well!” he rejoiced.
“Ack! They just fixed me!” he shouted.
“Right, sorry.” he sheepishly apologized. Jack let out a light huff.
“It’s alright. It’s nice to see you though.” he said with a friendly slap to the tank’s back. “So, uh, thanks. For helping me out back there.”
“Bah. Think nothing of it. It is what comrades do for one another. But, you are welcome.”
When he left Jack to get him some food, which ended up being warmed up leftover burgers and fries from the night before, Rein got to thinking. He wondered how much Jack remembered. Did he remember getting wounded? The declarations of love? The robots being hacked? How he held him tightly in his arms? Or even what happened in the ship? Rein hoped that he at least remembered the declaration of love. He didn’t think he'd ever get the courage to do it again, even after knowing Jack had moved on from Vincent.
When he came back, he noticed that Jack seemed lost in thought. But, he seemed to snap out of it once he noticed Reinhardt, thanking him for the food.
“It seemed as if there was something on your mind.” he said.
“Yeah… I need your opinion on something.” Jack requested. Rein was eager to give it. “I’ve been thinking, maybe I am getting a bit too old for this.”
“You know, I had been thinking of retirement as well.”
“You have?” Jack asked, shocked. Rein gave a lighthearted laugh.
“Yes, I have. A warrior’s death is honorable, but it would be missing something I want.” he replied.
“It’s love, isn’t it?” Jack questioned. So he did remember. Rein sheepishly turned away.
“Yes. It is love.”
“I think… I love you too, Reinhardt. Sorry, if I read things wrong, I─”
“No! You didn’t!” Rein quickly responded. Jack laughed, his bright smile the apple of Reinhardt’s eye.
“I’m glad then. I’d be honored to spend the rest of my life with you, if… that’s alright with you.”
“There would be no greater honor, than to spend the rest of my life with the man I love.” he said, placing his hand gently on top of Jack’s. They softly smiled at each other, gazing warmly at the man they loved.
-
Long after the lives of the lovers had passed, the kingdom fell to ruin, stuck by a great disaster out of anyone's control. They made a difference in the course of history. They made a difference in each other’s lives. And in their end, they had love. What other end could be more joyous than to die in love?
-
The honorable beings, who time and time again would arise to help their world, were fueled by the memories of others. And in turn, they fueled the memories of others as well. In a never ending cycle of despair. But, this is where hope and love are reborn, time, and time, again.

A comprehensive review of my favourite k-pop releases of the first half of 2021:
January
(G)I-DLE – I burn
Title track: HWAA
Despite being released earlier in the year, I burn is still absolutely one of the most memorable albums of 2021 for me. I’ve followed (G)I-DLE since debut, but it was after Queendom and Lion era (and then Oh my god not long after) that I think they began to show their true potential, and this release is nothing short of a masterpiece. HWAA is the single I wasn’t expecting but I needed: everything from the icy but charged atmosphere, the haunting percussive vocals, Soyeon’s rap verse splitting the song in two, the simple but extremely effective choreography… It worked so well for me, and definitely made me fall even more in love with the group, and especially Minnie’s stunning vocals.
The rest of the album isn’t just a no skip – all the songs are genuinely so good and well thought out. Some are mellow and melancholic, and my personal favourites are definitely Moon (mainly because of Minnie’s vocals – I seriously need a solo album from her – but also Yuqi’s strong pre-chorus, slightly reminiscent of Senorita era). However Dahlia definitely takes the place as my favourite song on the album. Something about it is so sentimental, yet gives a feeling of strength and resilience. Minnie and Yuqi really left an impression through the whole album, and as always I can only applaud Soyeon’s immense talent in producing and songwriting; she’s really the backbone of (G)I-DLE.
Dreamcatcher – Dystopia: Road to Utopia
Title track: Odd Eye
Dreamcatcher delivers every single time and with Odd Eye once again they did not miss the mark. The song has everything I wanted: the trademark Dreamcatcher rock sound, beautiful vocals (Siyeon’s adlibs, anyone?), Dami’s unique rap verses and, of course, absolutely mind-blowing choreography. Dreamcatcher are truly insane to watch on stage, and I do think they all deserve more credit on all aspects – discography but also vocals, dancing and performing. SuA is my favourite female k-pop dancer, so you bet I have watched every single fancam of hers that is out there. It’s also incredible how everyone in the group is very strong in not just one area – main dancers can sing like main vocalists and vice versa. The album was, as expected, gorgeous. I feel like all b-sides deserve to be talked about because I loved every single one so much. Wind Blows has one of the most beautiful pre-choruses in their discography (also, if I didn’t mention it already, I was absolutely over the moon about having Handong back) and the hook is literally meant to bang your head to it. I LIVE. Poison Love is yet another example of how Dreamcatcher excel in whatever genre they decide to try; while their title tracks usually borrow a lot from rock music, their b-sides explore more synth pop, r&b and house or trap styles. Overall an extremely solid comeback, and I expected nothing else from them. They’re truly a different league.
Hyuna – I’m not cool
This was HYSTERICAL. This release was purely Hyuna in her truest, strange and always charismatic form: from the odd progression of the song to the extremely over the top aesthetic and wardrobe. I was obsessed from the start and still am. I cannot express how happy I am to see her thrive and back to making music she loves. Flower shower was kind of a letdown for me, but oh did this mini album make up for it. I wasn’t expecting such a difficult choreography from her, but Hyuna knows how to own a stage, and it really shows what a pro she is because she is always able to fill the whole place with or without back-up dancers. I feel like I’m not cool was more about telling a message – Hyuna’s flourishing and colorful identity – than it was about vocals or rap, and I really liked that. I also enjoyed the rest of the mini, although I think I’m in the minority who still prefers I’m not cool over Good girl.
Cherry Bullet – Cherry Rush
Title track: Love so sweet
This is going to be a quick, but well-deserved mention. I still don’t know too much about Cherry Bullet besides their previous title tracks, but Love so sweet was truly a breath of fresh air and one of my most replayed songs of the year. I think all cute concepts lovers are extremely grateful to them for this release, and they executed it perfectly from concept to performance.
February
Kang Daniel – Paranoia
Hearing this song for the first time was like getting a punch to the gut, and honestly I feel like I still haven’t entirely recovered. Before Paranoia I listened to Daniel pretty casually, knew some of his songs but not all of them, but this song sunk its claws in me and literally dragged me into the fandom so hey, I guess now I stan? Everything about it ticked every box. The music video was spectacular, and the song itself has an extremely haunting and dark feeling, also paired with truly gorgeous lyrics. I feel like it was a brave and personal release. It was different and raw and I could feel the deep and true emotion behind it, and relate to it as well. Still one of my absolute favourite songs of the year.
SHINee – Don’t Call Me
For some reason it feels like it’s simultaneously been ages since this release and yet also like it just dropped this morning. Just SHINee things, I guess? I was excited beyond belief to get a new full SHINee album after the boys’ much awaited return from the military, for reasons that go from musical to pure and simple affection. It was so good to see them come together again, perform on stage, talk about their music and style backstage. I think all SHAWOLs needed it – I definitely did. I know a lot of people weren’t very into DCM, but to be honest I loved it at first listen. I think SM delivered a beautiful and whimsical music video that went perfectly with SHINee’s trademark uniqueness. They’ve always been known to stray away from trends, try new and sometimes odd styles, and this is exactly what they did this time as well. Even though it was a very different track from their previous ones, it still had an unmistakable SHINee flavour to me. I was also obsessed with all of Key’s verses in the song for MONTHS. I feel like the album as a whole could have been a little more, as some tracks were played safe, but I do have to mention queen Body Rhythm, which is the sultry but classy SHINee style in a perfect 3.12 minutes of a song.
Sunmi – TAIL
OH MY GOD. I was so unbelievably excited for this release and Miss Sunmi did not disappoint. She is and probably will always be my favourite female soloist in k-pop, but even though I enjoyed both pporappippam and Lalalay a lot, I felt like something was still missing there. I believe Sunmi needed some time, after leaving JYP, to find herself and her sound again, and to me that’s exactly what she did with Tail. She has her own brand of sexy, which somehow manages to be both subtle and very in your face. I loved the storyline of the song and music video, and Sunmi’s voice is just perfect for such a sensual and mysterious concept. The choreography was also not simply complex but also extremely clever, and a true example on how to use back-up dancers to an artist’s advantage. Rather than overshadowing Sunmi, which often happens with some soloists out of sheer number, they made her shine even brighter. A special mention here goes to the stylists: they kept the theme for every stage but somehow never made it boring. And overall, it’s Sunmi’s incredible stage presence that makes her songs really come to life on stage.
DEBUT
PIXY – Wings
This debut took me completely by surprise and had me OBSESSED. I replayed the song continuously for a whole week, watched the music video several times (which I usually don’t do) and oh my, that choreography. Wings is probably in my top 10 gg choreographies now, especially including the extremely haunting intro they performed on some stages. Overall I think it was a brave and interesting choice to go for a horror concept straight from debut, and I saw a lot of potential in the girls, especially as dancers and overall performers. While I didn’t personally like their next release, I’m still definitely keeping an eye on them because of this phenomenal debut.
March
WOODZ – SET
Title track: Feel Like
I fell for Woodz hard and fast. This song has that delicious dirty r&b sound that tickles me in all the right places, mixed with some more urban influences, and I feel like sultry soul is where Woodz truly excels. I had been keeping an eye on him because I had really enjoyed Love me harder, but I didn’t know if he was going to go in a more mainstream direction after that… and he did the complete opposite. He gave slow sensual vocals, an instrumental from the GODS, a beautiful retro and almost Wild West vibe and the wardrobe was on point. The other two songs in the mini were honestly just as good, moving in the direction of an even more contemporary r&b with a gorgeous taste of synthwave and dreamwave in Rebound.
DEBUT
Purple Kiss – INTO VIOLET
Title track: Ponzona
10/10 best debut of the year and I’m not accepting other opinions. I had high expectations for Mamamoo’s juniors and they SURPASSED THEM. Purple Kiss came out with a dark and mysterious concept and a song to match, and I feel like the group is extremely balanced, which is rare to see: vocals, rap and dance all have one or more members who absolutely excel in that skill, and it makes their performances beautiful and very professional, despite just being rookies. Like all 4th generation groups there is a definite focus on performance but, for once, I felt like this time the vocals didn’t have to take the backseat for the performance to shine, and I really appreciated it. I am especially interested in seeing how Swan will develop as a vocalist, since she’s so young but already so extremely talented; I am in love with how unique her vocal tone is. The title track stole the show from the rest of the album, which was also very good but could not compete with how incredible Ponzona was. Regardless, I feel like Purple Kiss immediately established their place in the industry with their debut, and I can’t wait to see more.
Baekhyun – Bambi
Ah, what a bittersweet goodbye. And yet what an absolutely flawless one at that. Baekhyun has been my favourite k-pop male vocalist probably since the first time I heard him sing, so yeah, it’s hard to think we won’t get any more new music from him for almost two years. Bambi was, after the incredible and well-deserved success of his previous releases, a gorgeous, sleek and mature level up into pure artistry. The instrumental is stripped down to the essential and yet for that very reason it hits much harder, and the song can’t help but follow Baekhyun’s voice wherever he wishes to take it. I loved hearing him showcase both his incredible upper AND lower register, and he probably had my favourite music video of the year – minimalistic, elegant, sexy. It made me think I would really like to see a collaboration between Baekhyun and Woodz someday in the future… anyone else? I also loved the album as a whole. Something I’ve noticed with Baekhyun is that every time, even delivering amazing title tracks, the rest of the album is always still just as beautiful. Maybe I’m just too in love with the man’s voice, but to me every single track on the album was memorable and beautiful in a way that felt a lot like longing.
April
ENHYPEN – Border: Carnival
Title track: Drunk-dazed
The day this album came out, ALL I DID was listen to it over and over. The sound in all of the songs follows a very interesting and coherent story progression, and besides visuals and choreography, the music was the most fascinating part of this release for me. From the intro it felt extremely atmospheric, which was helped by the narration, and the transition into the title track was seamless. I love that ENHYPEN have a very clear and unique concept and are going against the trend that we’re seeing from most 4th generation boy groups. Drunk-dazed was a continuation to Given-taken in storyline and music, but also an upgrade, and everyone has improved so much and so quickly it genuinely left me shocked. I was especially impressed by how much more refined and controlled Jake and Sunghoon’s vocals now sound, and delighted to see that not only Niki had more lines but they even gave him a small dance break. He’s always the highlight of ENHYPEN performances for me, and I do really believe he’s going to become one of the most legendary dancers in all of k-pop. The music video was my favourite of the year in a tie with Baekhyun’s Bambi: the cinematography was sleek and movie-like, Sunghoon’s acting beautiful and never overdone, and the imagery both haunting and gorgeous, mixing cold marble and blood in a way that reminded me a bit of the music video for BS&T. The album as a whole was also one of the most memorable releases of the year. Fever allowed ENHYPEN to perform a more sensual concept, still in a youthful way that felt appropriate for them, and all the choreography was beautifully intricate. I feel like it’s a general consensus that Heeseung shone the most in Fever performances; he always gives 1000% on stage and it’s genuinely captivating to watch. While Not For Sale is not my favourite sound for them and just in general, it’s still a fun song and makes it so that, while keeping stylistic coherence, the mini appeals to a very broad audience. Mixed Up became my new n.1 ENHYPEN b-side at first listen: something about it is so passionate and determined, and gives off the same exact vibe I get from the boys’ performances: youth, hard work, fierceness.
BIBI – Life Is a Bi…
Title track: BAD SAD AND MAD
SHE BROKE ME. This album made BIBI shoot up in my list of best soloists and she landed somewhere in my very sacred top five. She has an indie and r&b vibe paired with class and extreme relatability, and I could seriously listen to her sing forever; her tone is new and unexpected, not only in sound but also in storytelling. The songs on the album felt honest, raw, truthful. Unfiltered. Umm life, the first song on the album, is also probably my favourite. It hit me in a very personal way, and I feel like I’m not the only one who saw herself in the lyrics and overall feeling of it. With this album BIBI touched on a lot of difficult and often taboo topics, and the music video for the single (literally… BDSM) was both visually tongue in cheek and, lyrics wise, sad, poetic and rich with complex imagery. I loved seeing BIBI perform on stage and I watched all of her interviews too. There is something about her absolutely unbothered attitude on and off stage that fascinates me, and the way she performs shows how deeply she really feels her music. She put out an incredible album with tracks that were all thought provoking and well-thought out.
ITZY – GUESS WHO
Title track: In the morning
Okay, look. I know everyone is out there saying the lyrics were cringy or the sound didn’t fit ITZY or whatever else, but ITM and Sorry not sorry are still some of my most played k-pop tracks of the year so, say what you like but DAMN ARE ITZY’S SONGS CATCHY. To be quite honest I didn’t know what to expect after the disappointment that was for me Not Shy, but In the Morning not only delivered, it went beyond expectations in a way I couldn’t have imagined. ITZY managed to showcase all of their strengths and also their infectious charm and energy. Every performance was new and entertaining to watch; I love Lia’s vocals, Ryujin is the real definition of center and I was also captivated by Yuna’s energy and bubbliness, but also her professionalism at such a young age. Yeji stood out the most to me and proved that, at least in my opinion, she’s without a doubt the ace of ITZY in dance, vocals, rap and more. I wish JYP would give more spotlight to Chaereyeong’s dancing, however, as I feel she hasn’t been able to fully showcase her abilities yet. The choreography was extremely strong as usual and, unlike previously, I was finally able to enjoy some of ITZY’s b-sides, particularly Sorry not sorry, KIDDING ME and SHOOT!,all of which I loved. What ITZY ultimately brings to the table is an energy that’s impossible to resist and that I think no one else in 4th generation possesses.
May
Oh my girl – Dear OHMYGIRL
Title track: Dun Dun Dance
Someone get this song out of my head, please. Seriously. This release grabbed me and catapulted me in the world of Oh my girl and hey, I’m not complaining. I was desperately waiting for a fun, summery release that did not feel like it was a rehashed version of a 2020 song, and this was IT. The song came with a very tasteful, light and romantic album which contains some of my new favourite gg b-sides, like Who comes who knows or Swan. The performances were impossible to stop watching; the girls took a concept that is known to work and has been done so many times and still managed to give it a fresh and personal feel, and I loved all of it. The choreography fit so well with the song and the group’s image, and something I particularly loved was the styling (give me all the crochet tops please) and just overall how much fun it looked like they were having on stage. Thank you Oh My Girl for officially starting the summer of 2021!
SOLO DEBUT
YUQI – A Page
Title track: Bonnie&Clyde
I can’t stress just HOW ANGRY I still am that this wasn’t promoted in Korea and was barely performed even in China. Is Bonnie&Clyde the best song of 2021? Most likely. So someone explain to me why CUBE acted like Yuqi’s solo debut wasn’t the huge deal that it was (kind of like they’re doing with Soyeon now, to be honest). I frankly do not get their decision to not capitalize on it more, because they could have made a fortune with proper promotions but, moving on. TWO SONGS AND MY ENTIRE YEAR WAS MADE, MISS YUQI DID. THAT. I don’t sing, and I learned the lyrics to both songs. I’ve never played the piano before in my life, but you can bet your ass I spent 48 hours watching tutorials and now know how to flawlessly play Bonnie&Clyde on the keyboard. Yuqi has one of the most gorgeous voices in k-pop and just pop in general, and the potential all (G)I-DLE members have is INSANE. Her concept was strong, empowering and with hints of pain and, mostly, survival and resilience. I didn’t feel a choreography was necessary and I still think it’s pretty ridiculous how some people are so mad that Bonnie&Clyde, a song made to highlight Yuqi’s vocals, had a very simple dance performance. I cannot wait for the day we get a full album from Yuqi and we can see her perform on music shows.
Taemin – ADVICE
Genuinely, I do not want to talk about this album AT ALL. I have very complicated feelings about Taemin enlisting, what his artistry has meant to me through the years and the hell this man’s voice has got me through, and I still feel almost uneasy listening to this album. Restless. Advice was a risk for Taemin. He took a step away from his style both musically and in choreography, and it felt new and a little disconcerting, but deep down still extremely Taemin. It’s undeniable that Taemin includes in his art a strong element of, to put it simply, genderfuck; he represents both genders at once and also neither (I am in full support of recognizing “Taemin” as a new official gender identity :D) While the Move-Criminal-IDEA triad is still unshakable and probably impossible to top, Advice was something that, as a long-time fan, I needed. The album was as beautiful as I’ve come to expect from all of his releases (I believe I called Strings “slow, passionate sex” and I stand by that statement) and I have too many feelings I don’t quite want to figure out whenever SAD KIDS plays. As always, SHINee and Taemin’s music is more than just music or performance to me, and the reasons are many and complicated. All I really know is that Taemin’s voice manages to shake something very deep within my soul (throwback to when I first listened to IDEA and started full-on sobbing) and I am grateful to him for being the incredible artist he is.
EVERGLOW – Last Melody
Title track: FIRST
My girls!!! I am so proud!!! I feel like no one is giving EVERGLOW nearly enough credit for the growth they’ve done both as a group and as individuals. They started with BBC as an interesting but still somewhat lacking group, full of potential; having supported them since the very first day, I feel nothing but extreme pride as I watch their FIRST stages. They all look more confident and every single one of the girls absolutely owns the stage. I feel like finally Onda’s dancing was properly showcased (and I may have watched one too many fancams of hers because ?? Have you seen those shoulders??? *fans self*) and both Mia and Sihyeon’s vocals shone beautifully. They have grown up and become incredible performers, not just capable but extremely strong. In my opinion EVERGLOW have the most intricate and exhausting choreography amongst all girl groups as of right now, and this comeback they’ve shown they really are able to stand out in the midst of the industry oversaturation that is 4th gen. My only – but very real – complaint is: who the hell is writing their b-sides and why do they always sound so mediocre? I want to have a talk with the producer who thinks it’s ok to make C- songs just because they also delivered an A+ single. Also, EVERGLOW full album when?
TXT – The Chaos Chapter: FREEZE
Title track: 0X1=LOVESONG
HELLO??? WHAT WAS THIS?????!!!???????
Look, I didn’t even listen to TXT much before this; I just casually knew their title tracks and nothing more. Then they come back with emotional rock music, absolutely insane choreography and flawless live vocals??? OK GO OFF I GUESS????? (Can you tell I’m still in shock and absolutely not over it? You probably can)
This was most definitely the release that surprised me the most; I listened to the title track when it came out just to quickly check it out, to see if it was catchy and if I wanted to add it to my playlist, and then proceeded to listen to it about 50 more times before I moved to the rest of the album, and did the same with every other song (special mention to Dear Sputnik and Frost for literally being the best k-pop b-sides in history). I learned the dance down to every detail, marveled at Taehyun’s vocals, the hypnotizing way Yeonjun moves on stage and just overall their chemistry as a group and the impressive level of individual talent everyone in TXT has. It’s very rare to find groups where all members have such outstanding vocals, dance and performance, and I’ve been in a TXT loop since this release. Officially added to my stan list. What an incredible album.
June
B.I – WATERFALL
Title track: illa illa
This was… a lot. iKON was, back in the day, one of the main groups that got me into k-pop, and B.I’s departure from the group – if you can call it that – took part of the fandom with him, including myself. So, a lot of us set to waiting. I had trust B.I would eventually come back fully as a musician. He’s always been an inspiration to me and the snippets he let us see on Soundcloud before making his comeback reminded me how much his music is able to truly touch me. And then this album dropped.
B.I is without any doubt my favourite lyricist in all of k-pop, and it is even more impressive that he has been able to produce, write and arrange for his own group, other groups and now for himself as a soloist. Some of the lyrics in this album, especially for Waterfall and illa illa, keep staying with me through my days – I’ll keep building sandcastles even though I already know they’ll eventually come crashing down – and I was able to relate to him not only as a fellow artist but also, very deeply, as a person. This album felt personal to me and many others, and Hanbin did not hold back he never does, but especially not this time. Waterfall opens the album true to its title: it pours out angry, tired, hurt, and it just keeps pouring. It speaks of wounds not yet healed and lays down the truth that, in life, some wounds do not ever truly heal after all. Following it is illa illa, which with the first few notes already introduces a few hopeful piano keys and B.I’s equally hopeful voice. It feels tentative, like seeing an end to the darkness but being so used to it that you can’t quite believe it. It feels like accepting and maybe, finally, moving on. The album goes from deep to playful to hip-hop heavy tracks and back to r&b, and I was also very happy to see B.I and Lee Hi collaborating again, as she’s also one of my favourite artists. I needed this ray of hope.
TWICE – Taste of Love
Title track: Alcohol-free
Was I skeptical when I first heard the title? Yes. Did I fall head over heels for this song as soon as I saw Twice first perform it? Also YES. This is this year’s summer song, period. The last one/two years have been years of discovery for Twice, of maturing, finding an updated but still authentic sound that fits them, and this album feels very much like Twice but also showcases their growth. Alcohol-free is the perfect title track, and I swear once I listen to it or even just think about it then I’m stuck singing SWEET MIMOSA PINA COLADA for the rest of my week. All the stages were phenomenal, and I swear I probably died and came back to life several times while watching Nayeon perform. I love how the song highlighted Tzuyu’s vocals better than most Twice title tracks, although I am still very tentative about Jeongyeon’s return. But at the end of the day, if she’s made the decision to come back then all we can do is support her and hope she keeps getting better. This era also gave us iconic Twice interviews and shows (who gave Momo the right to be so funny, seriously?) and overall felt almost like a new beginning, finally seeing the group as a whole for an official comeback again. I also think Taste of Love has some truly excellent b-sides that capture the summer feeling perfectly, without ever feeling repetitive or basic. I especially loved how catchy Scandal is with its whispered intro, the sensual and intimate feeling of Conversation and the perfectly captured naivety of young romance in First Love.
ONEWE – Planet Nine: Alter Ego
Title track: Rain To Be
I did not expect ONEWE to release my favourite k-rock album of 2021 and surpass even DAY6, but boy am I impressed. I feel like, given the chance, they could really take Korea by storm, and I really hope RBW starts to give them decent promotions and distribute their
budget a little better. This was just overall a gorgeous album with an incredible title track. It came out almost two weeks ago but I still play it several times a day because I absolutely can’t get over it. ONEWE’s take on rock is indie and very emotional; Rain To Be feels desperate in its passion, and the vocals are so soulful and honest the song manages to feel both exciting and heartbreaking. Also the bass. Just. THE BASS. It’s a beautiful album from start to finish, and I might or might not have cried a few times while listening to COSMOS. The music video managed to be epic while keeping an incredibly simple concept, and I loved the visual of them getting slowly submerged by water as the song reached further and further heights. I really hope at least one person reads this and gives ONEWE a chance and listens to their songs, because they’re relatively new to the scene but I feel like they already have left a very memorable impression on the k-rock music scene.
To conclude this review, here are my most played k-pop tracks of the year so far:
