Ahshfjg. I talk a lot about todolf but let me make this clear: canonically (Vienna), Death doesn't love Rudolf. The only person he's ever loved (depending on portrayal) is Elisabeth, and that's literally the point of the show (or of Lucheni's conceit, anyway). Máté's Tod arguably doesn't even care for Rudolf, he just wants to eat him (I think he pities baby Rudolf before the cartoon lamp of evil ideas gets lit above his head), Uwe's is more ambiguous (idk what he feels if anything ajjdfj).

AND it's actually why I love the ship so much. Rudolf literally has nobody else, the only person (...?) he can trust and turn to for comfort is going to kill him, and on some level he knows this but can't turn away. Mainstream academic theories posit that the development of Ability Outfits occurred in three stages.

In the distant first stage, The Eight, guided by the gods, created Ability Outfits, providing Whim with a tangible object to rest upon. From then on, the old title of "Whimancer", used to refer to those who could control Whim, was abandoned, and a more endearing term, "Stylist", was adopted. Powerful ability outfits allow their wearers to leap over mountains and rivers, move rocks and hills, and even control time and space. The Eight used Ability Outfits to resist The Dark, bringing a thousand years of peace to Miraland.

In the second, a time of national reconstruction, Miraland ushered in an era of Ability Outfits. More and more Ability Outfits were created, encompassing a wide variety--some designed for battle, while many were crafted for daily life and reconstruction. Ability Outfits became essential to the rebuilding efforts across all nations.

However, the powerful nature of Ability Outfits also escalated conflicts, and brutal wars broke out between several countries. This is regarded as the third stage in the development of Ability Outfits.

The emergence and development of Ability Outfits have changed the historical trajectory of Miraland, reflecting the light and dark sides of human nature. However, Ability Outfits are inherently neutral; their use for light or darkness depends on the choices of their wearers.
