Just reader struggling validating their own feelings because they feel like they haven’t went through enough to feel miserable and compares their sufferings with others? Doesn’t have to be all out comfort or anything, could just help reader get distracted ;-;,,,

Sanemi stands in the doorframe of your bedroom, unimpressed glimmer in his stare as he watches you tuck your kakebuton under your feet for the nteenth time, hazy light dimly illuminating the specks of dust floating above your head as you grumble to yourself.

“Let’s go,” he finally declares.

“Go?” your brow furrows, confusion crinkling the corner of your eyes while you sink deeper into your futon.

“You’re moping.”

“Am not.”

“You’re a limp, musty pile of moping.”

“That’s supposed to make me feel better?”

Scowling, he steps toward you, arms crossed, “You disgust me.”

“How about you display some brotherly affection and bring me lunch?”

“Let’s go.”

“Go WHERE?”

Smirking, he bends down, tugging off your kakebuton in one, fluid motion, “Your mom’s house.”

Concern flickers across his forehead when you hardly react, opting to curl into a defensive, angry heap rather than jumping up to throw a punch.

“Your mom is my mom, stupid,” you mutter, clenching your pillow.

“Idiot.”

“Dumbass,” you retort.

“Dumbfuck,” he pauses, reluctance heavy in his tone even as he offers you his hand, “I, will… take, you… outforlunch.”

“Dearest oniisan, have you forgotten how to properly enunciate?”

Exhaling loudly, he slowly repeats himself, “I. Will. Take. You. Out. For. Lunch,” slapping your hand away as you reach for his, “... if, you tell me what’s on your mind.”

You snort. He glares. You cough. He fidgets with the edge of your kakebuton. 

“Shinazugawa Sanemi wants his [y/n]-kun to talk about feelings with him?”

“I do not want that,” he snaps, promptly dropping your kakebuton.

Sighing, you pull at your kakebuton from its crumpled pile at the end of your futon, skin prickling, chest tight, eager to cocoon yourself again.

“Take yourself out for lunch,” you mumble.

“No,” he snarls.

“Take yourself out of my bedroom.”

And then you shriek as he unceremoniously grabs your ankles, dragging you until you thud onto the floor, mouth set firm.

“Tell me.”

“FUCK YOU,” as you squirm, legs kicking frantically.

“Yeah, yeah,” bored, his grip on your ankles secure as ever, “How undignified.”

“You’re a terrible oniisan.”

“Are you joining me for lunch, or not?”

“Do I have a choice?” you scoff.

“No.”

I hate you your eyes roll, flicking a grain of rice at him. Stubborn as he looks at you expectantly. Oniisan as he stuffs himself with another ohagi, chews, swallows, and grunts.

“I could slice open your skull and dissect your brain, but that would kill you and get me nowhere nearer to understanding what’s bothering you.”

“Your comprehension of the human body is phenomenal, oniisan.”

“I’ve fed you. Now talk.”

“I am talking.”

“I don’t have to waste time on you,” he hisses.

“I’m a waste of time?”

“At the moment? Absolutely.”

You deflate, voice soft, hesitance in your heart.

“Do I deserve to feel pain?”

Harsh laughter fills your ears, an energetic smack knocking your breath from your lungs, warm fingers settling on the back of your neck.

“I’m sure you do, as do I. Don’t bother comparing sins — they’ll drown you faster that way. Just be happy the mighty Wind Hashira treated you to lunch,” fingernails digging slightly Just be happy I know how to swim.

“Lunch isn’t the same as swimming.”

Sanemi shrugs, his eyes shut, close to drawing blood as his fingernails dig further into your skin Just be happy I would dive in after you.
