Finding two fresh monkfish tails at my fishmonger on Saturday, I knew I had to make this dish for our family Sunday lunch. Sayadieh is quite versatile can be prepared using different types of fish. I love to use monkfish, for it has a mild, sweet flavour and firm meaty texture. Sayadieh is a great dish for gatherings and parties a good dish for sharing. I always serve it with two sauces, a Tahini sauce seasoned with lemon and garlic, and the dish’s own sauce. Had such a wonderful Sunday with these amazing friends/neighbours I cooked a 3 course meal which I can be proud of. The starter was something I'd never done before, the idea just popped into my head at the last minute on Saturday, and surprisingly it worked and tasted incredible. One of these ladies mentioned I should write it all down in a recipe book, which I might do one day when I've got the time along with my desert recipe, as I keep changing how I make it every time....lol, I only try to improve it, so it tastes better. Lunch at Tasty Pot after 9 AM church service

In 2022, we discovered Tasty Pot and went twice! My favourite is probably the Kimchi Dumpling Soup but the real reason I love this restaurant is because of their Deep Fried Blood Rice Cake snack (yes it sounds weird). I love the pepper salt and the chewy consistency. It’s pricey here though so better to come for dinner.

We went to Chung’s cousin’s new house afterwards to help build furniture and had dinner his parent’s house to welcome in the new year!
