Dear Marte, I kinda need to defend Louis when it comes to his live shows. I don´t know how often do you attend concerts but as a person who always loved way too many bands and going to their shows is basically my hobby and how I spice up my life, I don´t expect that Louis will try to make his every show a stand-up comedy just like H does because that´s what normal musicians/bands do - they go to stage, play 3 songs, say some words to warmup the crowd and then they play more songs.
This year I saw Lizzo (I´m a huge fan of hers no matter if she´s linked to H or the drama what´s happening to her now) and she also had this "comedy" sequence and I just found it really unnecessary and kinda felt like she´s doing it because she saw it at H´s shows. And same with Niall, who I saw last month at festival, fans brought signs and he read some and I was like "why is everyone copying H and do this at their shows too?". Having said that I went to too many shows mostly by indie/alternative rock bands so far and I never had this comedy experience because nobody do it because nobody need to do it. At so yes, when we compare those shows to H´s, yes they are boring and same every other show and the difference is mostly how lound and engaged is the crowd and the mood of the singer/frontman of the band.
I would also like to add that it´s the only 2nd solo tour for him and IMO it´s too soon for him to be really really comfortable with his stage presentance. Musicians always evolve when they get more and more experience every tour and become comfortable and sure with their performance. So I would give Louis more time to evolve.
I´m gonna see him twice next month and I´m excited because I´m just coming to see him and hear his songs live. And I really don´t expect anything else that good sound, his voice and the crowd being nice. Any maybe some nice outfit but don´t know when yesterday was like the peak with his cutie pink rabbit hahaha
Hi, anon!
Sorry, i wasn't trying to take anything away from you all who enjoy his shows. That wasn't my intention. I love that you enjoy them! Get excited! That's the goal. I think i would be too if i went to one. I'm not sure if i'd feel the same excitement if i went to several. But as someone who follows them from home, the shine has worn off a bit.
I've been to my fair share of concerts. My take away is that if the music is good enough, and their general stage presence and emotional delivery is there, you don’t need the artist to do other forms of entertainment. The music is enough. But i have to say i do love a bit of banter beween band mates, heckling from the audience and funny fan interactions. I love an anecdote or artists who introduce their songs by talking about how they were written or what inspired them to write it. But don't repeat it word after word every single show. That's boring. Make every show special. Spice it up. I can do without the gender reveals, guitar smashing, stage drinking or kissing fans.
I think the best thing about Louis' shows are the fan projects or initiatives. Rainbow projects, rainbow flags and the spontaneous conga lines in the pit. So much of it got nothing to do with Louis, but all to do with the common effort the louies make to create a safe and happy atmosphere. I'm pretty sure he could stand on stage wearing a garbage bag singing bah bah black sheep(s), and fandom would make the show and fan experience worth the while for us fans either way. It sometimes feels more like a big louie party, where louis is the dj.
I agree that we need to let him have time to grow, but considering he was also touring with 1d, he's a touring veteran. He's gotten bolder and more confident, but it's slow going and i guess i'm impatient for him to give us something more.

The Creative Directors Behind Fate: The Winx Saga Must Not Be K-Pop Fans
Also, they have a pretty wrong idea of the role fashion should play in a show.
Tumblr media
There are a few words that will stand out across most reviews of Netflix's Fate: The Winx Saga - drab, boring, flop, flat, unimaginative. Critics and audiences consensus is that the show is not only a mediocre-at-best story, but also an atrocious (and ultimately confusing) choice of adaptation of the color pop and fairy magic cartoon it’s based on, 2004 italian cartoon Winx Club.
Fate has plenty of it's own issues - white washing and erasing characters, cringey dialogue, outdated melodrama, etc. But where it truly, unequivocally fails is as an adaptation. Fate misses everything that was magical and lovable about the original series, in all levels, from bizarre writing choices, - such as never actually developing any sense of friendship between the characters, who are based on a cartoon about…..a group…….of friends -, but it's especially and immediately felt in the art direction and costume design.
Winx Club is set on a fantastical world, Magix, where each of our main characters hail from a different planet, à la Sailor Moon. Alfea, the fairy school they attend, is the most common background: a pastel colored, futuristic high tech-meets-fantasy, art nouveau inspired castle. Alfea sets the tone for the whole visual of the cartoon: bright, colorful, futuristic meets vintage, leaning into the technological positivism of the Y2K style, uniting it with magic, DnD worthy monsters and, of course, fairy wings. Often featured are also the Red Fountain school, where the Specialists train, and especially Cloud Tower, the goth and gothic inspired witch school Alfea has an OxBridge rivalry with (How cool would that be in a live action? I guess we’ll never know…).
On Fate, Alfea is the only school we ever see, and it’s another beige boarding school in not-Britain, somehow set in a magical world where everyone has the exact same technology and even social media that we have on Earth in 2021, no transformations and, most egregiously, no fairy wings.
This lack of visual creativity is pervasive throughout the whole show, and its most heartbreaking iteration is in the characters' wardrobe. The styling has the barest bones of a color scheme, - such as 'Bloom has to only dress in red since fire, duh',- the clothes are ill fitting, bland, dark and very dated. These are supposed to be teenagers who enjoy fashion, and yet they look like varying types of soccer moms from 2010.
The series seems to operate on an old and tired vision that women and girls can’t have depth and have adventures and fight monsters while also caring about fashion, a vision that the original show played a big, big role in challenging in the early 2000's. Fashion and costume design sets as much of the tone of a visual medium as the script does; through clothes we can gauge characters’ backgrounds, passions, and personality.
Winx Club has some of the best examples of this in the cartoon sphere - Bloom’s comfortable and bright style, Stella’s glitzy and bold, Musa’s edgy and cool, Aisha’s sporty and fun, Techna’s neon and tech gear inspired, Flora’s earthy and romantic, they all work as extensions of each character and serve a narrative purpose. And that’s not even mentioning how insulting it feels that in their quest to make Winx “edgier, darker” and fit for an older audience, the creators of Fate somehow decided that was in opposition to caring about style and fashion. Most “girly” shows, including the Winx Club are just as much adventure action shows as the ones geared towards boys, and it’s emphasis in fashion, friendship and color does not detract from that. The original run of the cartoon deals with war, violence, grief, abusive relationships and even genocide; leaning into those plotlines would not require Fate to erase any integral parts of what made Winx so beloved, and the fact that they did shows that the Netflix team completely missed the point of fashion in the original show, and really, the point of fashion and costume design in the world building of any show.
Tumblr media
That, however, is not a mistake K-Pop makes very often; (This might seem like a bit of wild swerve in topic, but stay with me here). Unlike it's western counterpart, the Korean pop scene never lost the emphasis on music videos and how the visual medium can complete and potentialize music and performance; the K-Pop culture is very album and concept oriented in a way that has been all but lost in many other pop circuits, and the music video, styling and set design of a ‘comeback era’ is a key point of excitement among fans.
As such, music videos that follow storylines, connected universes, boundary pushing concepts and visual effects are the norm, rather than the exception, and a list could be made of works that are beautiful examples of what a live action Winx adaptation could look like. In fact, and very smoothly, here is a small list of exactly that!
A Small List of K-Pop Music Videos That Are Better Winx Club Live Actions Than Fate: The Winx Saga
3. Red Velvet - Psycho
Tumblr media
If it was a darker and more somber look that Fate wanted, there was a way to make it actually appealing. While it still feels a liiitle too grown up and elegant for Winx, (maybe this author is biased, as a full proponent for the Y2K fun) Psycho makes a very compelling argument for a witchy, mysterious, fairy tale-esque show that could look scrumptious and definitely not boring, or even a gorgeous example of what the witches in Cloud Tower could look like. Black and white, dark green, pastel blue and pops of jewel tones make Psycho's color palette. To add interest to the understated colors, the styling is heavy on textures; We see plenty of stonework, intricate embroidery, tassels, lace on lace on lace, feathers, bows, opera gloves and lots of glitter. All of that is offset by bold, dark makeup, leather accents and eerie cinematography. Needle & Thread, Marchesa Notte and Self Portrait lend their hyper feminine and intricately detailed tulle gowns, juxtaposed with the creepiness of the lyrics and the dark backgrounds; their deep berry and green fairy tale looks are built with pieces from Zara to Nina Ricci to Dolce & Gabbana to Alexander McQueen.
Red Velvet’s more edgy styling for 2018's Bad Boy would also not feel out of place on the Trix.
Tumblr media
2. IZ*ONE - Fiesta
Tumblr media
IZ*ONE kicked off 2020 with sweet and fun Fiesta. The MV features rooms with mismatched décor that go from retro to space opera, rocky faux landscapes that feel other worldly, and visual effects that would look perfect on the back of a transformation sequence. Mirroring the set design, the girls wear various outfits by sustainable up and coming brand Chopova Lowena. Their signature skirts made with discarded and repurposed fabrics give a cool and interesting twist on a schoolgirl look that would look very sweet for a band of school fairies that occasionally go off to save the world. Also, wouldn't those bedazzled headphones look great on Musa's fairy outfit?
1. Aespa - Black Mamba and Next Level
Tumblr media
Aespa is what fans call a monster rookie. With only three music videos under their belt, they still have some of the most visually interesting work in the industry right now. Their concept is very tied in with high tech, featuring even AI avatars of each member, packaged in a glitzy, fantastical and futuristic aesthetic, candy pop meets cyberpunk. I think I’ve exhausted ways to say that is exactly what a perfect Winx adaptation should feature.
Their debut smash hit, 2020’s Black Mamba is truly a perfect moodboard for live action Winx. Wearing a sequined and colorful mix and match of Dollskill, Gucci, Didu and Balenciaga to a backdrop that features some alien fairy forest realness, a pyschedelic fever dream, rooms straight out of a Y2K catalog or donning lime green and black techwear inside a metro fighting the "black mamba", Aespa look through and through the part of fashion loving fairies who save the world together, while looking fierce, stylish and, most importantly, interesting.
The styling and the sets jump seamlessly from more casual colorful fits with blouses, shirts and baggy pants to barren, darkly lit backgrounds and fringe-and-glitter heavy pieces necessary to fight giant snakes, in a way so fitting to transformation outfits for magical girls we could cry.
Tumblr media
In their third MV, 2021's Next Level, the cyber in their concept is taken up a notch (get it. because Next Level-), set to a futuristic urbanscape intersped with a planet made of crystals and the ocasional alien fauna popping up again. We get treated to Monse, The 2nd Skin Co., Johanna Ortiz and The Attico styled to fairy princess standards, sporty sky racers and a white and sequined group styling that is top ten fairy busy saving the world uniform material, or maybe even a specialist worthy getup.
This particular look from Ningning is so Techna that it almost feels as if it's mocking Netflix.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And doesn’t this Karina trapped inside the "black mamba" in Alexander McQueen feel like a perfect Dark Bloom moment?
These are only a few examples of interesting and creative designs that are in line with what a live action Winx Club should have given us. There are so many more I could list, even among other TV Shows, like Sex Education and even polemic dark Euphoria, that know how to have fun with style and design without losing the depth of their stories. In the end, it's hard to justify why Fate creators even wanted to make an adaptation that didn't even try to capture the heart of its source material, and all we can do is watch one more "Restyling Fate: The Winx Saga" video on Youtube whilst mildly dreading season 2.

Ring Games ♛ Adam Cole
fem!reader x adam cole
18+ readers
warnings: just smut lol
word count: 3337
- The daughter of Shawn Michaels, Y/N, is a wrestler in NXT. She currently feuds with NXT women's champion, Shayna Baszler in a storyline. Her good friend, Finn Balor is the #1 contender for the NXT championship, currently held by Adam Cole. A mixed tag match has been set up for NXT Takeover: Atlanta, winner takes all, no DQ with both titles on the line.
----------
You do your final stretches before having to walk down the ramp to the ring. This would be the biggest match of your WWE career thus far. You and your tag partner for the night, Finn Balor were hoping to win your respective titles in a hard fought match in the main event. This would be his 3rd title reign and your 2nd. You previously held the title for 89 days before losing it to Shayna Baszler in a ladder match. Your rematch had finally arrived.
You feel a hand on your shoulder whilst shaking off any nerves you may have. You turn your head to see one of your opponents for the night, Adam Cole. Adam was never really a friendly guy to you. He loved to tease you and make sarcastic jokes and snarky comments. There wasn't really any bad blood, he's just an annoying guy to be around. Also, everyone knew how much of a flirt he was. You couldn't help but feel like there was some sort of tension between the two of you. He knew it too. You two are always flirting with each other, you more subtle than him. Your most common form of flirtatiousness was nicknames.
"Hey, Michaels. Don't wine too much when you come up short tonight, it's not easy facing a guy like Adam Cole Bay Bay.", he says. Your ring name is Melody Michaels, after your dad, the Heartbreak Kid, Shawn Michaels. It was hard at first to make a name for yourself in this business without being compared to your dad all the time, but soon you realized you could embrace it and be your own person at the same time. You take a lot of inspiration from him with your moveset. Hopefully tonight will really take your career to the next level.
"Sure, Cole. I'll do my best, just for you." you replied back with a fake smile so he clearly knew you were being sarcastic.
"This outfit you've put together tonight is really something different. I've never seen you wear something like it." He's clearly checking you out since you catch his eyes on your thighs. He was right though. Tonight you had new gear made for the special occasion of main eventing Takeover. You wear a dark purple set. It consists of a top that cuts off a little bit below your boobs with thick straps that cross across your back like an X. The top is sparkly and is lined with rhinestones. The bottoms are high waisted and reach just under your butt. They are super tight and lift a little above your thighs on the sides. They are also coated in glitter and lined with rhinestones. You wear your normal black fishnet tights, black knee pads, and your wrestling boots. You also decide to do your makeup a little heavier than usual. Nothing too extreme but still flawless and noticeable. You're also wearing your signature black leather jacket with a broken heart on the back to carry the legacy of your father. Your hair is curled and hangs low to the middle of your back.
"Yeah well I want to look good when Finn and I win our titles back". You don't look at him when you respond; you stay focussed on your warmup.
"Whatever you say, babe. I'll see you in the ring then." He walks past you but not before sending a wink your way. You simply roll your eyes and dismiss it.
----------
"And his tag team partner, from Chandler, Arizona: Melody Michaels!" The crowd roars as your name is announced and theme song plays. Finn stands by the end of the ramp waiting for you. You share a quick look, nod to each other, and then proceed to the ring. Shayna and Adam stand in the back corner of the ring eyeing you down. Finn walks up the stairs and holds the ropes open for you. You step in and walk with confidence to the front of the ring, facing the hard camera. You hold your arms out and yell words to pump up you and the crowd. You do the same for the right side of the ring and then turn your back to the camera to acknowledge the fans behind you. Finn waits in the ring for you to finish your entrance while Shayna looks around at the crowd with an annoyed face as they chant your name. Adam however can't keep his eyes off you. He has a sly smirk on his face. Your music dies down and you go stand next to Finn, across from Adam and Shayna.
"The following contest is a Mixed Gender Tag Team Winner Take All Extreme Rules Match! And it is for the NXT Women's Championship and the NXT Championship! Introducing first: the challengers. Melody Michaels and Finn Balor!
You and Finn step forward and acknowledge the fans cheering for you. You turn your head to yell in your opponents faces. "Better say goodbye to your title reigns because those championships are coming back to where they belong." Shayna simply rolls her eyes but Adam responds. "Not a chance, babe. Now backup and let the champs get introduced." He says.
You take a step back and think about his words. He is such a flirty jerk, but you couldn't help but feel butterflies when he called you babe this time around.
When Alicia Taylor introduces Adam and Shayna, you watch Adam take a few steps forward and yell at the crowd. Shayna does her signature "Queen of Spades" pose. They turn back around and hold their titles up to the ref. Adam sends you another quick wink, but before you can process it, the bell is rung.
----------
You're about 15 minutes into the match. Finn and Adam lay outside the ring trying to regain some strength after they both went through tables. You and Shayna fight in the ring. You hit her with a fisherman suplex and go for the pin. She kicks out at 2. Before she can get back up, you grab her and put her in her own submission, the Kirifouda Clutch. She is slowly fading, but she reversed it and somehow gets your shoulders pinned to the mat. You also kick out at 2. You both get back to your feet. She charges at you and you use her momentum to send her over the top rope. Shayna now stands on the apron. You run to the ropes to gain momentum and spear her through the middle rope. She hits the floor hard. You throw your hands up and taunt to the crowd. However, when you turn back around, Adam Cole stands in the ring.
"What is it, Cole? Are you gonna punch me?" You ask in a fake pouty voice with a puppy dog lip. You hold your hands around your back in an innocent way.
"I could never hit you, babe. You know that." he says looking down at you.
You find a wave of confidence come over you as the crowd cheers. You respond, "Well, what is it that you want, handsome?" Your hand now rest on Adam's bare chest as you get a little closer to him. His face shows that he is surprised by the nickname you've given him.
"Come on now, Michaels, you know what I want." He takes a step closer to you with a seductive look on his face. Now it's his turn to place his hands on your body. He rests them low on your waist.
Out of the corner of your eye, you see Finn start to make it to his feet again. You play along with Adam while you see Finn slide into the ring. You also take a step closer to Adam and lift your head up a bit (if it's even possible to get closer). Your mouths are just inches away from touching.
"I'm not sure I do, Cole. But I do know one thing, maybe you should turn around."
He looks confused as he turns around. You get out of the way so Finn can hit Adam with a sling blade. Adam lays on the ground and you look down at him, "Sorry, handsome, I guess that's just what happens when you aren't paying attention." You send him a wink.
Finally, Finn Balor climbs to the top rope and hits Adam with the Coup de Grace. Before he goes for the pin, you see Shayna get back in the ring. With your quick thinking, you tune up the band and kick her square in the face with some Sweet Chin Music. You and Finn both go for the cover on your opponents.
1!
2!
3! The bell rings.
"Here are your winners, and new NXT Women's Champion and NXT Champion: Melody Michaels and Finn Balor!"
The crowd is going crazy. You pull Finn in for a hug and then clink your titles together in a celebratory fashion. Shayna looks beyond pissed. Adam on the other hand, has a look of pure anger, but yet a look of lust is written on his face. You blow him a kiss and display a smirk as you and Finn exit the ring. You walk up the ramp with your backs to the titantron as Adam Cole is still staring you down.
You and Finn walk through the curtain and arrive backstage. You two are greeted with hugs, congratulations, water bottles, and towels. You place your titles down on a road case.
"I had such a great time tagging with you tonight, Y/N", Finn says, "Hopefully we'll get another mixed tag match soon."
"I couldn't agree more, Finn! You seriously killed it out there. I'll see you tomorrow for lunch?" you say.
"You know it. See ya then, Y/N". He gives you a long hug and walks towards the men's locker room.
It isn't long before Adam and Shayna come through the curtain. Shayna shakes your hand and you two have a quick and casual conversation about the match and working together. Then, Adam walks your way. With no warning at all, he grabs your hand pulls you out of gorilla. He drags you through the halls of the arena until you reach his private locker room that he shares with the rest of the Undisputed Era. The room is empty since the Kyle, Bobby, and Roddy left after their matches earlier in the show.
Adam pulls you into the room and quickly shuts the door. He wastes no time before pushing you up against the wall. His left hand is placed on your lower back, pulling you close to him so your lower halves are touching. His right hand is next to your head, resting on the wall. Your faces are extremely close together, but there is still a few inches in between you.
"What the hell was that out there? Huh? Explain to me what that was all about?" Adam says, clearly extremely annoyed.
You decide to act dumb and play innocent. "I'm not sure I know what you're talking about, babe." You stare into his blazing blue eyes.
"Don't play dumb with me, Y/N. You distracted me in the ring and I lost my title because of it. So, now you're gonna pay for it." Adam has an intense and serious look on his face but his eyes long with lust.
You reply to him, your faces now closer than ever. Your hands roam Adam's chest and slide over every part of his abs, quickly looking down at them. "Oh? I'm gonna pay for it? How so?" You look up at him again.
"We are going back to my hotel room and I'm gonna fuck you into the mattress until you scream my name loud for everyone to hear." He says.
You answer simply. "I'll meet you at your car in 10." Your hands slide down Adam's arms and you pull away from him, exiting the room, but not before winking at him for the millionth time tonight.
You walk to the women's locker room. You strip out of your sweaty ring gear and put on your casual everyday clothes. You wear a pair of leggings, a cropped yellow top, with white shoes. You pair it with your WWE PC jacket since it is a bit chilly tonight. You grab your large bag and carry it out to the parking lot.
The walk to Adam's car was much easier than you thought it would be. You spot him leaning on the driver door. He looks up from his phone and sees you coming, so he hops into the driver's seat.
---
The car ride back to the hotel was only about 4 minutes. It was silent, but not awkward. You could not wait to get inside and let Adam see and touch every part of your body.
When Adam pulls up to the hotel, you both grab all of your items, walk in, and check in. You walk up to a desk and Adam talks to the lady at the desk next to you. Somehow he finishes checking in before you and walks over to the desk you're being helped at.
"You can just cancel her room", he tells the front desk lady helping you, "she's gonna stay with me tonight," he tell the woman. You shoot him a very knowing look. The front desk lady looks at you and says, "You don't need this room?". You look up at Adam and he's looking down at you. His face looks so serious and stern. He simply states to you, "You don't need that room, Y/N." You look back to the lady at the desk and say, "Sorry, I won't be needing a room tonight." She looks down at her computer screen pushing some buttons. Before she gets the chance to look back up, you are pulled by the arm to the nearest elevator.
Before you can even say one word to Adam about that whole front desk show he just put on, his lips are planted on yours. You hear a ding, signaling that the elevator doors are closing.
With no thinking at all, you kiss him back. Your back is pressed to a wall in the elevator. Adam's hands are set low on your back. You have one on his chest and one in his hair. The kiss is so passionate and full of desire. You both want more. His tongue swipes across your bottom lip. You allow him to deepen the kiss. When he does, a soft sound escapes your lips. This makes Adam crazy. He removes his left hand and places it on your butt. Eventually, his hand rises from your butt to your waist. He plays with the hem of your cropped tank top signaling that he wants it off. Before the kiss can escalate anymore, the elevator doors open. Both of you break the kiss, quickly gather your bags, and move as fast as you can to Adam's hotel room, which apparently you were staying in tonight.
Adam opens the door and you both enter. He pulls you to the bed and pushes you to sit on the edge of the bed. He slowly crawls over you, his hand roaming your body the whole time. Finally, Adam says something, "You're gonna do whatever I say. The only thing I want to hear coming from your mouth is my name. Do you understand?" His voice is very stern. You nod with fake innocence written all over your face, excited for what's to come.
"Good girl." Adam's mouth attacks yours again. His hair drapes over your face like a curtain. His hand reaches for your shirt again. This time, he pulls it off your body. Adam breaks the kiss to pull your leggings and panties off in one go, as you remove your bra. Adam stands up and removes his clothing as well. When he lays back down, you climb on top.
Another strong and sloppy kiss begins. This time Adam shows dominance as he attacks your neck and shoulders instead of your mouth. You let moans escape your mouth. Your fingers are laced in Adam's long hair. Shortly later, Adam gives you a command. "On your back, now."
You remove yourself from Adam's grasp and lay down on the bed. Adam takes in the sight of your naked body. "Damn, babe. I've been waiting for this moment for so long" Adam says. You let out a slight giggle.
Next, Adam gives you no warning and slide one finger deep into your soaking wet pussy. You groan loudly, not expecting the sudden pleasure. Adam seems satisfied with your reaction. He slides in another finger, pumping in out out. Now you're really a moaning mess. Adam takes your vocalness as a sign to add another finger. He slides in and out of your body at a rapid pace. You yell out, "Oh god! Adam! Please!" When Adam feels that you are getting close to your climax, he pulls his fingers out of you. "Good girls get to come, you cost me my title. This isn't going to be easy for you, babe." Adam says to you. You try to catch your breath as ecstasy almost washes over you. You close your legs and wine a bit, not getting the full feeling of overwhelming pleasure.
Adam harshly opens your legs back up. Once again with no warning at all, he slams his cock into you. Now you really scream out. Feeling embarrassed, you drape your arm over your moth in an attempt to keep quiet. Adam notices this and pins your arms on the bed on each side of your head. "Not today, babe, I want you to scream my name so everyone in the building knows who's giving you the best sex of your life."
And with that, Adam picks up the pace. He slams into your body over and over and over, watching you every step of the way. Skin slapping and the bed creaking fills the room. The sounds that escape your mouth make Adam thrust even harder. Suddenly, he rams hard into your g-spot.
"Oh my fucking god! Adam! Don't stop! Oh god!" You moan in pleasure.
"That's right, baby, yell my name. Scream it." Adam lowly groans out.
"Adam, I'm gonna come," you say.
"Not until I hear you screaming my name." Adam says. He thrusts even harder than before, slamming every time directly into your g-spot. Except now, his thumbs plays around with your clit.
"Adam! Adam! Oh my fuck- Adam! Shit!" You finally scream out. Your vision is quickly taken away as your eyes are tightly shut. The ecstasy and pleasure washing over you right now in this moment is unlike any other sex you've had before.
Adam finally allows you to release, "That's right, baby, fuckin' scream it." He releases shortly after  into your pussy. You both ride out your orgasms as Adam thrusts slowly and deeply into your body.
Adam lays on the bed next to you as you both catch your breath.
"Fucking shit, Adam," you say.
He laughs quietly and replies, "I hope you're ready for round 2, tonight isn't gonna be easy for you."
And with that, the rest of the night was spent fucking until daylight. As the night went on, Adam became more and more aggressive. You seriously didn't know if you would be able to walk at all tomorrow. But that's tomorrow's problem, right now you're just focussed on Adam... and will be all night.

Can I request bakusquad on a first date?
The long awaited request has been filled! Hopefully tungle.hell doesn’t kill be with word count caps. I hope you enjoy!
Mina Ashido
She’d take you out on a first date to the mall! A lighthearted day of shopping (or window shopping if you’d prefer) and hanging out is her idea of a great first date!
Your first stop would be to the local café to grab some much needed caffeine to keep your energy up throughout the day. She always orders drinks with caramel and chocolate to keep her sweet tooth happy, and she’ll gladly offer to pay for yours if you’d want.
Your next stop is to your favorite store! You’ll both have a day at trying on outfits and finding the best styles for each other. She loves thrifting as well so you may find yourself bouncing from shop to shop, hand holding her tightly to make sure you keep up.
Whenever you feel your bellies rumbling, you make a beeline for the food court. If you surprise her by tugging her to your favorite fast food station, she’ll let out a laugh lighter than air and give you a small peck on the cheek. She’s happy that you’re able to keep up with her energy.
After you’ve eaten to your heart’s delight, you’re off to the arcade! Mina bets that you can’t beat her at Dance Dance Revolution, and you’re not one to say no to a challenge. You spend hours dancing at this machine, drawing a crowd around as you do your best to gain the upper hand. When you manage to get a perfect score on a song, she rushes over to you to give you a high five and the biggest hug she can muster.
“That was awesome! You’ve gotta show me how you got so awesome at this game! I’ve got Just Dance in my room, wanna see if you can beat me there?”
Katsuki Bakugou
As loud and brash as he is, Katsuki isn’t the one to instigate your first date. All of BakuSquad could see how he wasn’t as harsh with you, so they decided to set him up for a first date with you. So when he found himself at the meeting spot just outside an amusement park with you frantically checking your phone and looking around for someone, he knew that you’d both been set up by your friends.
He marched up to you and let out a groan. When you had noticed him, you came to the understanding that his friends were meddling with you. However, you shouldn’t let these free tickets with all day passes go to waste, right? With hands in respective pockets, you entered the park side by side.
While you both were fairly uncomfortable and awkward in the first hour of hanging around the park, once you two got onto a ride, you both warmed up to each other. You were riding one of the faster coasters, one that slowly pulled you atop a hill onto to launch you downward and through loop-de-loops.
While you were screaming your head off on the drop, Katsuki was giving a full-hearted laugh that ended with a smirk. A smirk that quickly morphed into a small ‘o’ of surprise when you grabbed his hand. His face flushed as he glanced between your hand gripping his for dear life and how your eyes were squeezed shut. The shock from your boldness faded from him, face returning to his normal hue (albeit dusted with a soft pink blush), and he squeezed your hand back.
Minutes later, the two of you were exiting the ride, and he escorted you, hands still together, over to a shaded table for you to calm down after the ride. Realization hit you that you were holding hands and you tried to pull away, but Katsuki just smirked and squeezed your hand tighter.
“Trying to run away from me now? Tch, you could’ve told me you don’t like the faster rides, dumbass. Let’s go find something more your speed. I can’t be the loser that lets his date feel uncomfortable.”
Kyouka Jirou
As the daughter of two music lovers, her idea for a first date is to a concert. She branched out to a genre that wasn’t her style, more of yours actually, so she knew you’d love it. With a few of her mom’s connections, Kyouka managed to score a couple of front row seats for the two of you.
During the breaks of the opening acts, she makes her best attempts at small talk. When the awkwardness washes over, you chuckle and give her hand a squeeze. You know she’s out of her comfort zone, so you try to ease her nerves by talking about what you liked about the music. You’ve struck a chord with her then, and so when you both aren’t vibing with the music you both chat about how good the guitarist’s riffs were or how you could see how much fun the lead singer was having as she flitted from one end of the stage to the other.
Your attention’s drawn to the stage when the main act appears, Kyouka’s fingers interlacing with yours as she anticipated the first strum of the base for their opening song.
Melodies and choruses passed, and it felt like time had stopped until the band was announcing their last song of the night. However, Kyouka could barely focus on the stage; her eyes were glued to you, taking in your overflowing enjoyment. With every song, you were energetically performing in your seat; you were far more captivating than the girl adjusting the mic on the jumbo screen.
Contrasting to the upbeat, fast paced songs that they had started their set with, a soft tune floated through the venue. The guitarist had exchanged his normal electric guitar for an acoustic guitar. Cliché and mushy words accompanied the gentle music, and Kyouka could feel her heart pound. The band was ending the concert with a love song, a preview of their new album if she remembered the earlier announcement correctly. The singer’s voice gradually built up from a whisper to a resounding belting that echoed through the silent crowd. A split second of silence followed as the singer took another breath; you followed suit to prepare for the next verse, unaware of what Kyouka planned. You turned to check how she was feeling about the song only to find her lips on yours.
“I know that this band was the headliner tonight, but you were the real star of this show. Wanna listen to all their albums on the way back tonight?”
Denki Kaminari
Denki’s idea of an ideal date is just inviting you to hang out with his friends. Some may see it as awkward, but he sees it as the best way to introduce you and to get to know you in a group setting. Today, he dragged you along to his squad’s gaming day, with today being a MarioKart tournament.
Before you even said a word, his friends (with the exclusion of the feistiest member of their crew) swarmed you. They asked who you were, if you had a quirk, and how you’d managed to agree to date their goofiest friend. You laughed and answered their questions with ease, pulling the flustered blonde closer to your side as you joked about accidentally getting shocked by him during your first meeting with him.
Any awkwardness subsided once a controller was in your hand. The unofficial leader of their group pushed a black controller to you, almost a challenge to see if you were good enough for Denki. Everyone was competing in this grand prix solely made up of Rainbow Road at the highest level of difficulty. You agreed wholeheartedly and set out customizing your bike (as you preferred them to the carts) to create the ultimate racer.
The first of the four rounds started off with a blast, with you managing to blow out as you got used to the controls. You ended up way back in 6th place, with only Hanta falling behind you at 8th with NPCs littering the places unoccupied by the other players. The next two rounds fared better with you placing 3rd in the second round and 2nd in the third round. With the final round seconds away, you were shocked to find that your points were tied with the hotheaded Katsuki. This last round would determine it all.
Denki massaged your shoulders during the brief break before the final round (as he was eliminated in the second round with an unlucky last place), whispering encouraging words to hype you up. He was worried about Katsuki’s verbal beating he’d give if he didn’t win; the blonde had been at the receiving end of many of those. Those worries all melted away as he saw the way you were weaving through the NPCs, using them to shield yourself from the explosive boy’s neverending supply of shells. You were neck and neck; in first and second place for the majority of the round. Tensions were high, the room making the group’s chants of your name echo into your very soul. You didn’t even realize you had managed to win; as soon as you crossed the finish line, Denki had you pulled into your lap and was pressing his lips lightly to your cheek.
“You did it! You beat our reigning champ! You’re definitely a keeper if you can even beat Mr. Hot Head himself! You want to do this again sometime, maybe one on one?”
Eijirou Kirishima
As health conscious and ‘manly’ as he is, Eijirou offered a simple walk in the park as your first date together. He would’ve offered to work out together, but some of his other friends (namely Mina and Denki) vetoed that. He chose a weekend that was expected to have a sunny forecast and chose a park that was more than just grass and pathways.
You both met up by the vending machines, him buying you your drink of choice and grabbing himself a bottle of water. Eijirou kept the conversation light, discussing the recent class you both had about team tactics. He had been absolutely enthralled watching how you effortlessly pulled off a combination move with Momo and Tsu. His hand casually reached for yours, grinning wide to show off his pearly teeth as your cheeks bloomed with a pale pink.
Soon you came upon a mostly deserted play set with three sets of swings. You both came to an agreement to swing in the shaded area as a short reprieve from the sun. The conversation shifted from tactics to inspirations as you recounted your first experience with a pro hero: a pro hero from your hometown had taught a general safety course and ended up rescuing an eight-year-old you from flying away when a friend’s wind producing quirk accidentally activated. You recounted your amazement about how she jumped up a few meters to grab you and gently returned you to your spot without making a huge scene about scolding your friend. Her calm attitude and quick reflexes really inspired you to strive to be a hero, especially a hero with attention to handling cases with children involved.
Eijirou relaxed into the swing, swaying as he explained how Crimson Riot’s manly ideology and willpower to confront danger without any hesitation brought himself out of a dark time of self-doubt.  The pro hero turned into an idol, influencing the boy to take on his well-known red hair and paying homage to the Crimson Riot with his own hero name Red Riot. Her further went on to explain that while he admires the manliness of the hero, he doesn’t mean that he admires the masculinity aspect of the word.
He knows the courage and determination of manliness comes in many forms; he exclaims that you exemplify that manliness, especially after learning about what happened during your training at a hero agency based in Hosu City. You had managed to hold off two villains twice your size on your own while waiting for reinforcements to arrive during a small hideout raid. Eijirou was so caught up in explaining his admiration that he hadn’t even noticed that he was slightly pulling you both towards the edge of the raised walking path. He made one wrong step and started falling towards the ground, only to have you grip his hand tightly and yank him back onto the walkway and directly into you. With a blushing face that rivalled his hair, the boy recovered from his blunder with a full-bellied laugh.
“I know I’ve been going on and on about how manly you are and how awesome your training is going. After this, I think I’m really falling for you. You’re my hero today!”
Hanta Sero
A laidback date for a laidback guy, Hanta decides to do a casual movie at home for your first date. He first takes you to the convenience store to pick up all the snacks that you’ll need for the movie marathon. He scored some copies of a childhood classic series that he knew you liked, so he wanted to make sure you both would have enough to last the eight-hour binge.
While you grabbed the popcorn, he snuck over to where the dried fruit were. Despite all of his friends’ eating habits, Hanta favored the healthier options. Although he wouldn’t mind a little sugar now and then if it were you giving it to him. Little did he know that you were lurking around the candy aisle with a specific target in mind. After a few minutes of browsing the shelves, the black-haired teen settled on a large bag of a mixed variety of snacks and met you by the checkout counter.
Hanta paid for your goodies and you walked hand in hand back to his room. After situating the hammock into place and gathering any pillows or blankets you needed, you settled in next to each other and turned on the first of many movies. You both lay there cuddling, him being the large spoon so that he’d have more room to maneuver his elbows so that they wouldn’t dig into you.
Time sped by as you both lay there and enjoyed the corny visual gags that seemed like it was just yesterday that you were watching for the first time. In between laughing your hearts out and stuffing your cheeks with popcorn, neither of you could feel the beating of each other’s hearts against one another nor the warm mood settling about the two of you. The snacks were dwindling, only one bag left unopened as you two reached the final film.
He was the one who grabbed the bag, eyebrows quirking up as he read the contents. Sugar coated orange slices; something Hanta hadn’t eaten before. He asked why you got these instead of anything else. You blushed and gingerly took one out of the bag, mumbling a response along the lines of thinking he may like them. He chuckled and pushed into you, shifting just enough to where he could snatch the treat from your hands with his lips.
“Well what do you know, these are pretty good. If these are halfway as sweet as you, then I’m in good company!”

Ashton’s Top Releases of 2019
Tumblr media
Chris Farren - Born Hot
One of my favorite things in the world is the juxtaposition between Chris Farren's online presence/stage persona and his lyrical content/actual personality. 'Born Hot' is the perfect example of everything I love about Farren starting with the music and going all the way down to the oven mitts and hot sauce that were released as part of his merchandise line. All jokes and bits aside, this record reminds you that it's ok to feel everything on the entire spectrum of emotions and that it's relation to you and the ones you love does not define your life- just that tiny moment in time.
Tumblr media
The Band Camino - tryhard
Since I already touched on this EP earlier in the year, I'll just leave everyone with this: It is absolutely ridiculous how much I listened to this release this year (so much that The Band Camino topped my top artists on Spotify). These boys found exactly where they were meant to be this whole time while writing this EP and that alone has made these songs shine brighter than every star in the sky. It's been months and these perfect pop songs are still floating around my head on a constant basis.
Tumblr media
Briston Maroney - Indiana
Last year's 'Carnival' (and a couple live shows)  introduced me to Briston Maroney as 2018 came to a close, and as this decade is now wrapping up, I'm back again at his doorstep. Not often do I find a release that has me enthralled from top to bottom, but this release is the 2nd one in a row from Maroney that has done so. Many of the tracks on this project carry a slower tempo and a nostalgic tone, allowing you to fall deeply into the intricacies of guitar-driven melodies and heart-wrenching storytelling. I can't imagine my year, or my life, without these songs.
Tumblr media
The Greeting Committee - I’m Afraid, I’m Not Angry
An absolute kick in the chest is the only way that I can think to describe this EP. A full range of sound and sanity is held within the tracks of this project, and every little detail leaves traces of who you were at the time and who you feel like you're becoming in your memory. I feel as though it's crucial to listen to this EP front to back every single time I'm reminded of it because the flow and production between each track and transition is impeccably executed and cannot be missed. The Greeting Committee has become one of my favorite bands for many a reason, and this EP is a huge one.
Tumblr media
Renny Conti - The Horse
With 5 of his songs gracing my top listens of the year, it's safe to say that Renny Conti is one of my favorite songwriters that I've had the pleasure of finding in the past few years. 2018's 'People Floating' and this year's 'The Horse' offer a full spectrum of lovely, lonesome, and lively tunes, this time around being hosted by a full band arrangement. The varied tempos and complete lack of genre are the unlikely strings linking each track on this release; the variety simply adding to how genuine every tiny detail feels with each listen.
Tumblr media
Nightly - Twenty Something
I don't have much to say about this track because my appreciation of it is simply overwhelming. If you've kept up with this site at all since it's creation 4 years ago, you've seen Nightly's name quite a few times, and that is obviously not going to end anytime soon (sorry not sorry). With a hypnotizing instrumental and lyrics that read like the transcript of a late night phonecall, this ambient-inspired track is one of Nightly's best efforts thus far. My personal biases aside, this is one damn good pop song.
Tumblr media
Liily - I Can Fool Anyone In This Town
Liily is by far my favorite band that I have seen perform this year. End of story. This EP was their first collective release and was written during the band’s teen years, but now into their 20s, they’ve hunkered down and honed in on all of their successes and amplified them by 10 fold. It’s nearly impossible to throw this release on and not let it replay for days due to the consistent flow of energy between every track from start to finish. Although most of the songs from this release have already been phased out of the band’s live set, that doesn’t mean that they should be overlooked from this list.
Tumblr media
Dayglow - Fuzzybrain
At this point in time, I don't think that any record has ever brought me as much joy just from it's integral sound than 'Fuzzybrain' has. The whimsy of this record is right in the surface from the start but is just one of the thousands of little things to love. The perspective of each track's lyrics is one not found in a lot of music- one of acceptance, calling out your own bullshit, getting a little sad from time to time, but knowing that's ok. Each song walks you through a feeling you know you've had in the past but maybe didn't know how to handle, and now you can take it in stride (or in dance due to how groovy this record is) and look towards brighter days.
Tumblr media
Valley - MAYBE
One of the things I always look forward to when diving into a new record is the variety of tracks included, and 'MAYBE' gave me one of my favorite grab-bags of the year. Each and every track sounds like none other than Valley, but just as you can feel like a new person in a new outfit, they transform into a new band with each concept. With this record also including acoustic and orchestral versions of a few tracks, Valley really left no musical stone unturned with this record but still somehow stayed the course with their sound. This record (as well as 'Fuzzybrain') won my vote for "Most Fun Had While Listening".
Tumblr media
SWMRS - Berkeley’s On Fire
Overall, I'd say that 2019 was a pretty angry year for the majority of people my age, and all that was summed up better than any of us could've done it with this record. SWMRS are always on top of social and political issues, but that doesn't mean my jaw will avoid falling to the floor every time they release a rock record for the gods using those themes. On top of the importance of the content of most of the songs, each one is crafted perfectly as to never leave your head or your car stereo. This record was one of my sleeper favorites of the year because I would go a period without listening to it, be reminded of one of the songs, then suddenly be swept back into the midst of the record for the next 3 weeks as if it had never gone away. SWMRS is one of the most powerful bands of our generation- this record and this year proved that.

New Perfume Blends: Fatherhood 2018
youtube
Ahead of our kid's tenth birthday, the Lab released this collection of scents inspired by memories from the past year. As is customary, Lilith's dad (and Black Phoenix Trading Post proprietor) Ted Barrial has followed up with a tribute of his own: FATHERHOOD 2018, a batch of fifteen perfume oil blends.
You'll find those descriptions and links below!
++ FATHERHOOD 2018
This September 2nd, my heart, my joy, my baby turned double digits. It feels like yesterday that I first held her in my arms at the hospital. I have watched her grow into a wise, polite, adventurous, funny, smart, fierce little woman, and I couldn’t be prouder of her. These images capture the moments that defined fatherhood for me in the last year. Every moment that I spend with her is special; I hope she feels the same, and that she looks back on this part of her life with all the love and happiness that she brings to me.
Tumblr media
THREE-FINGERED DAD
Sometimes I wonder how Lilith views me.
Am I the authority figure?
Her goofy playmate?
Am I the father that drives her all over Los Angeles?
It appears that I am the skinny three-fingered man.  I believe that she captured me perfectly. Don’t you?
Red and white musks, orange blossom, neroli, and sweet vanilla amber.
Tumblr media
ZIPLINE PART II
We all love to go to Ren Faire, and they have a zip line there. If I remember correctly, it is one ride for $5, $20 for 5 rides, and $40 for unlimited rides for all day.
Lilith gave me her best, “Dad, I love you and I would like to do the $40 all day” face – big eyes and all - and how could I say no? Long story short (too late!), we rode the zip line so many times that the operators knew our names.
This photo is one of my favorite photos from the last year. She looks so confident, tough, and sure of herself here, while I look like I just survived twenty zip line rides. She makes me so proud to be her father.
Pirate’y rum cookies, hay bales, leftover bits of funnel cake, and Renaissance Faire patchouli.
Tumblr media
FAMILY RESEMBLANCE
A quiet moment between a father and his daughter. We might be related.
A splash of Tombstone, red velvet musk, and a red licorice whip.
Tumblr media
LILITH POUNDCAKE
Lilith loves RuPaul’s Drag Race, and she thought it would be fun to dress up for Drag Con 2018 as Lil Poundcake. I made a promise to her when she was tiny that I would carry her on my shoulders for as long as she wanted me to, and I am pretty positive that I will carry her down the aisle for her wedding. As I carried her around Drag Con, and I would hear people whisper, “oh my god, it’s Lil poundcake.” Some people would yell “Lil Poundcake!” and she would happily flip them off in character. When people would stop us and ask to take a photo, I would set Lilith down, give her the boa, and she would pose for the photo. Then she’d hop back on my shoulders and we’d continue on our way. Ah, the life of a dad. I wouldn’t give it up for anything.
Dorian smushed into a cherry lollipop.
Tumblr media
SPORTSMANSHIP
If there is one thing that my loving daughter has learned from me, it is to always be humble in victory.
The scent of shameless gloating: sparkling honey and a hint of salty biscuit.
Tumblr media
PUPPET KITTY
One of the hardest parts of being a father is when your child loses something important to them.
Puppet Kitty is the most treasured of all of Lilith’s plushies, and earlier this year Puppet Kitty went missing. The panic of losing her consumed Lilith, and we all searched and searched for PK. It broke my heart when we finally stopped looking and had to just hope that she would show up sometime soon.
I cried when I found Puppet Kitty, and my heart melted when I saw look on Lilith’s face when I handed it Puppet Kitty back to her.
Every night, Lilith sprays lavender mist onto Puppet Kitty before going to sleep. This is the scent of that kitty: old, well-loved cotton, wool blankets, and gentle lavender skin-warmed by a sleeping child.
Tumblr media
TRUTH WILL PREVAIL
Back in 2016, we had made plans, a bit premature as it turned out, to travel to Washington D.C. to see the first woman sworn in as president of the United States of America. It was not to be, but we Barrials are nothing if not flexible. Along with some our best friends, we decided to travel to the Capitol to protest the vile man that is ruining our great country.
A year later, she rode my shoulders again at the first anniversary of the Womens’ March in Los Angeles.
With my beautiful daughter on my shoulders, we marched, we shouted, we made our voices heard again.
Truth will prevail.
A scent of power and courage for my daughter: sweet milk and cardamom with vanilla pod and nutmeg.
Tumblr media
THE CLOWN PRINCESS OF CRIME
Sometimes, I see a photo of Lilith and just want to add it to the Fatherhood update. I have tried and tried to write something about this photo but I have not found the right words.
Maybe I will just say that I love Lilith and I think she is beautiful here.
Lime hard candy, bubblegum lollipops and sugar plums.
Tumblr media
GOOGLY EYE CHRISTMAS TREE
We love googly eyes almost as much as we love Christmas morning at Casa Barrial, and last year, we were able to merge both of them together.
I love watching Lilith’s face and she races downstairs to see what Krampus and Santa might have left under our pink Christmas tree and what kind of candy La Bafana left in our shoes.
The scent of a Googly Eye Christmas Tree: pink cotton candy, silver tinsel, cinnamon cookies, and white chocolate snow.
Tumblr media
LILITH THE EXPLORER
Lilith has been flying since she was a little over a year old. Her first plane trip was to New Orleans, and since then, she has been all over the world. She has slept on the floor at the airport in Mexico City and Minneapolis, she has eaten airport junk in New York, Frankfurt, and Chicago. It feels like she knows LAX and Heathrow almost as well as she knows her own house. Sometimes I think she’s happier about flying itself than she is about exploring a city!
This photo was taken at the airport on one of our trips. I love this outfit… Rolling Stones concert tee, stripy tights, boots with fuzzy balls on it. Lilith might not think this photo is good because her hair is a bit messy, but I love looks of happiness that a hot dog and a giant pretzel bring to her face. It took a bit of persuasion to get her to share it, but dad has his ways.
The first time I saw her wear this tee, I told her that I went to that concert and I that I think that I had the same t-shirt back in ‘76.
She looked at me and asked, “1876?”
It’s probably not the best idea to make a hot dog scent, even though Beth keeps making jokes about hot dog water, so we made a Airport Garbage Snacks scent with coffee, airplane nuts, and squished Backpack Chocolate Residue.
Tumblr media
NO DNA TEST REQUIRED
One of the biggest joys of my life is holding hands and walking with Lilith. My lovely wife is always walking behind us taking these photos, and I love how you can see Lilith growing up over the years.
Lilith, please never stop holding my hand.
Dorian holding hands with Slime Queen, with Snake Oil happily trailing behind.
Tumblr media
SHOOT THE DUCK
Lilith did her first roller skating trick, and I was so proud.
Wild fig, tonka bean, bergamot, and hardwood.
Tumblr media
SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL QUEENS
Lilith has loved drag for many years, and when she goes to drag shows, she’s a great tipper. She knows how hard drag queens work, and knows how important it is to support the drag community both locally and worldwide.
This is the scent of everyone else’s spilled drinks at drag brunch: blood peach bellinis, strawberry daquiris, and mimosas.
Tumblr media
MY LITTLE POP STAR
Back in the good ol’ days, I was a singer in quite a few bands. Being up on stage was an amazing feeling, but it doesn’t hold a candle to watching my baby singing and seeing the way she lights up when she’s on stage.
I love to listen to her sing and I think she has a lovely voice, but nothing makes me prouder that having someone comment about how beautiful her voice is. This photo is just before she played with her band, and I love how she is so comfortable and happy to be in front of an audience.
A rockstar scent for a tween: leather, vanilla bean, honey sticks, and sugar.
Tumblr media
SNOWFLAKES ARE DELICIOUS
I don’t have much to say about this photo except it was Lilith’s first time in Chicago, her first time to see it snow and her first time catching snowflakes.
I love her dearly.

MY FIRST STORY MMA Tour Final The Premium Symphony 2017 in retrospect
On 23rd December 2017, MY FIRST STORY made another milestone by performing at the same venue which was supposed to have been the place where their rival brother band ONE OK ROCK was originally scheduled to perform with Linkin Park in November. Looking at the visuals presented to us so far, it was a roaring success.
Photos by Masanori Fujikawa and Taka Tallman except *
Here are my thoughts .... for my reader who requested. Basically a continuation of what I had said in a previous post before.
1. The stage looks like something inspired by Jules Verne novels combined with the Parthenon.
That’s impressive!!
Tumblr media
Then, similar to OOR, they also used a runway heading out to the audience. OOR normally use this for their acoustic set where the band members would gather together with their instruments. MFS used the end platform for Hiro where the digital piano was mechanically raised from below the stage. For a rectangular concert hall, you have to have this kind of setting for the audience's optimal viewing.
Tumblr media
Look at the laser lighting! It was among the elements that worried the s**t out of their boss GEN back in the Shinkiba Studio Coast show because it was expensive. But looks like he’s not worried anymore based on this elaborate display.
Tumblr media
Ready to go “Around The World In 80 Days” or “20,000 Leagues Under The Sea”! XD
Tumblr media
2. The attendance at Makuhari was higher than the Budokan.
From the TV clips shared by Japanese fans, 18,000 people came compared to 12,000 for the Budokan. Reading through fans' reports, it looked like Blocks A & B were the most packed or the crowds consisted of the hardcore fans. One girl in Block B said she wished she could transfer to Block C where she could breathe.
Looking at the crowd placement, I started to feel doubtful whether choosing a seated ticket for this venue is worth it for someone like me (154cm tall) because unlike the multi-tiered Budokan or the Makuhari Event Hall, the Makuhari Hall 9-11 are flat. They're exhibition Halls after all. How high were the seats raised from the main floor if they were raised at all?
Tumblr media
* Photo: Makuhari Messe Hall 9-11 when empty. Making me wish that it had a premium ceiling seat XD
3. It was MFS first attempt at using a full orchestra + a full choir
When they first announced the MMA Tour Final, they said this would be MFS as we had never seen them before. The ALL SECRET TRACKS album obviously had been arranged for this. The Live was not named The Premium Symphony for nothing. To me MFS music from the start has always been heavily layered. It was inevitable that they would arrive at this point.
Tumblr media
Photo: The moment the curtain came down. Aaaahhhh!!! That’s 終焉レクイエム (Shuuen Requiem) making its debut everyone \(^^)/
When MFS did the acoustic set for Itsuwari NEUROSE Final at Shinkiba Studio Coast, my mind actually wondered whether they would one day tackle the violin-cello string arrangements. Would have been slammed with the "OOR copy" moniker big time if they did it back then, wouldn't they? The difference is MFS actually created songs with orchestration right on their album rather than pick a few songs and re-arranged them with a string section for the Live show.
Tumblr media
You know what’s beautiful about the above photo? The backup musicians were smiling as they looked at the band members giving it all. Despite the different genres they come from, all artists know passion when they see it.
4. The Surprising setlist :-o
More like shocking to me!
The most striking thing about the setlist is the fact that they had excluded their signature Live songs Second Limit, The Story Is My Life, 最終回STORY and Awake :-o. Seriously?? WTF! You know what this means??! This means they were signalling the beginning of a new era. Up to this point, an MFS show would not be complete without those songs. This is them presenting the fans the new-phase MFS!
The Setlist
1. 終焉レクイエム (Shuuen Requiem) 2. ALONE 3. Black Rail 4. 悪戯フィクション (Itazura Fiction) 5. Missing You 6. REVIVER 7. この世界で一番の幸せ者にはする事など出来ないかもしれないけど... (Kono sekai de ichiban no shiawasesha ni wa suru koto nado dekinai kamoshirenai kedo...) 8. 失踪FLAME (Shissou FLAME) 9. See you again 10. Love Letter 11. monologue 12. 虚言NEUROSE (Itsuwari NEUROSE) 13. LET IT DIE 14. "BOOM" 15. Zero Gravity 16. The Puzzle 17. CHiLD -error- 18. Tomorrowland 19. モノクロエフェクター (Monochrome Effector) 20. 不可逆リプレイス (Fukagyaku Replace)
(Encore)
-Nori Ohtani marriage proposal- EN1. 「花」 -0714- (Hanarenai yo) EN2. Merry Christmas EN3. REVIVER
While I understand their wish to move forward with their music, it's sad for me to see 最終回STORY go because that's the song through which I fell in love with MFS (T_T).
5. Hiro debuted his piano solo performance
Tumblr media
My wish came true \(^^)/! Back in 2014 when MFS released their Taylor Swift remake We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together, I told another fan on my friend's MFS FB fanpage that I hoped to see Hiro perform with a piano.
I guess it wasn't the right timing for it then because it was the time when Hiro was still so heavily criticized and ridiculed as being Taka's copycat. Hiro with a piano onstage would be a bad move a few years ago. Nowadays, the comparison with his famous brother is much kinder as MFS music is speaking for itself more and more. So I think Hiro picked the right time to finally do it.
By the way, Hiro played See You Again solo. For Love Letter, he played solo halfway and then joined by the others. Can’t wait to see these (^^)
6. Hiro’s vocal performance
You see this one coming. My MFS concert commentary wouldn’t be complete without me talking about Hiro’s vocals, would it? True that I wasn’t there at the Hall BUT I have come to the point were I can slowly trust him to nail it around 90 to 95%. While I wasn’t expecting perfection, I know Hiro had worked really hard as he was confident enough to again include the song I directly and openly criticised him for through the band’s social media back in 2016, 失踪FLAME . Though they did not respond to me directly but Hiro did acknowledge on STORYTELLER that the song was hard.
When I saw this visual for 失踪FLAME , I felt good because I knew he still kept his determination to get that song right. I believe he handled it well. He wouldn’t have made this visual display if he couldn’t do the song right, could he (^_-)?
Tumblr media
7. Former drummer Masaki came (^^)
Tumblr media
Their friendship remains solid and Masaki once again showed that he wouldn't miss his former bandmates' big moment for the world. He tweeted saying it had been awhile since he went to see them, how awesome the show was, apologizing that he was giving an impression of an elementary schoolkid’s excitement and then attached his old photo wearing his underwear with producer Nori with a congratulatory message. Because that’s the only two-shot photo he ever had with Nori XD
8. "Men In Black" (^^)
Who wasn't taken by the fact that the band performed fully in suits?
Tumblr media
I think rather than setting themselves apart from the backup orchestra + choir members, the look they chose tied the whole thing together. The formally attired orchestra + the choir that coloured the overall feel of ALL SECRET TRACKS and their visually impactful LET IT DIE MV from ALL LEAD TRACKS. It was "MFS The Premium Symphony" and not "MFS with some guest musicians for some songs".
Tumblr media
Oh, yes. To me Teruki Nishizawa is the most dashing of them all in black suits. They’re all cute guys but Teru actually has that “prep school + white collar” aura which transcends well with that outfit. I don’t think I’m biased at all. Just look.
Tumblr media
9. Hiro & Blouson Chiemi
I'm a bit blurry with this one, did he do something like her comedy skit onstage or what? I saw a few Japanese fans mentioning her name along with Hiro’s. Knowing that Hiro likes her, I was hardly surprised. But MFS always edited out extra things like this when the concerts went to DVDs. So, if he ever impersonated any celebrity at all, it probably wouldn't go on the official release (-_-)
But at least we had seen Hiro posing like her during VAMPS Halloween Party 2017 XD
Tumblr media
*Photo: From BREAKERZ Daigo’s blog
10. Sho Tsuchiya did not perform with them this time
Though he did appear here and there on the MMA Tour, he did not perform at the Final as I previously had expected. Well, they already played up his surprise appearance to the MAX at the Budokan. Anyway, I'm glad I wasn't at the Budokan because I swear I would have pissed in my pants the moment I saw his face on the screen XD. But it wouldn't have the same impact doing it the 2nd time around, eh? The only way Sho’s re-appearance can top the Budokan is if they actually announce him coming back to them.
Tumblr media
* Photo from iTony Entertainment (it’s JMS subsidiary too!)
11. The biggest surprise of the night ..... Nori's getting married!
Their producer Nori Ohtani proposed to his girlfriend and after which, the band launched into their wedding anthem 「花」 -0714- . The fans, including yours truly XD, flooded the band's social media with messages congratulating him and wishing him well.
My thought :
Dating a rock band's manager / producer has its perk, eh? If things go well, you may get an epic marriage proposal with an orchestra, a choir and 18,000 eye witnesses too XD
Overall
One fan commented on IG that after watching the Makuhari show, the Tokyo Dome now doesn't seem like a dream anymore. I agree with her. I mean, if a band or any artist can hold a packed show at a venue like Makuhari Messe, with glowing reports and feedback afterwards, then the Tokyo Dome is not a dream but already a given.

Initials (S.P x Reader) Christmas edition.
A/N: This my be one of my worst writings but its inspired by a conversation I had with the pod squad so enjoy.
Tumblr media
Usually, when you hear the words Southside and Serpents you think of Gangs, Drugs, and danger. However, that wasn’t the case around December. The infamous Whyte Wyrm would turn into Santa’s  little workshop. Both the younger and older member of the gang would start putting up lights and stockings right after Thanksgiving, they would have one of the older members dress up as Santa Claus and give out presents to the younger members of the serpent family.  There would be secret Santa for the young members that were in the gang and as a god, awful tradition everyone would try to find the most hideous or funny Christmas sweater that ever existed.   I personally hated Christmas but after finding out from Fangs that it started when they figured out that not all the kids got a Christmas and some have never even celebrated it, even as kids.  Sure almost no one on the south side had money but everyone had made it their top priority around this time to make sure those kids had even the slightest bit of happiness. And that’s how  I got roped into wearing this horrendous outfit (https://weheartit.com/entry/91242209?context_page=4&context_query=santas+helper&context_type=search ) along with Toni.  “Who’s Santa this year?” I asked Toni as we continued to decorate the 6 foot Christmas tree with the handmade decorations that everyone got a chance to make. “I know that it was between Fangs and pea this year. I’m sure they’re still fighting over it” She said laughing. “I think they figured it out,” I said laughing after spotting Fangs in the same outfit as Toni and I. “I hate your boyfriend,” Fangs said as she joined us decorating the rest of the tree. “If he doesn’t get his way none of us are going to happy today,” I said looking for the 6-foot idiot that’s now dressed as Santa Claus.   “Well, well, well. if it isn’t bad as biker by day sweet pea.” Toni said laughing. “Babe, you’ve never looked better,” I said taking in the stuffing that gave him a round belly and the long white beard that made him look semi-attractive yet strange. “You laugh now, but I’m still the hottest person in this room” “first of all, You’re a close 2nd.  And lastly, how do you feel about growing a beard?” I said causing him to give me a weird look. “Really? this is doing it for you?” Fangs asked laughing. “ No. I just want to see if he’ll actually do it.”   After what seemed like hours of handing almost every kid on the south side gifts, we decided it was time for us to trade gifts. Fangs and Toni ended up getting each other the same exact gift which ended up being the same band shirts and blankets. “Okay babe, this isn’t the greatest gift ever but here,” I said handing Pea the box of brand new combat boots. “Are these the ones I’ve been saving up for?” He asked taking them out of the box, looking like a kid on Christmas, well technically he was but you get the picture. “Yeah, I took a couple extra shifts at pops and saved my tips for three weeks. If you don’t like them we can always return or exchange them.” I said looking up at him. “These are amazing. You didn’t have to go through all that trouble for these.” He said giving me a kiss. “If they make you smile the way you’ve been smiling since you saw them I’d do it again. “ “Okay, now My gift isn’t as special as I hoped but I hope you like it.” He said reaching into his back pocket to pull out a small black Box containing a necklace with his initials on a snake. “Babe. I can’t take this. It must have cost a fortune.” I said gasping at the beauty. “I just wanted to give you my initials before I give you my last name.” He said causing Toni and fangs to ‘aw’ while I started tearing up. “Did I say something wrong?” Sweets asked as he came closer to me. “No, I love it. Help me put it on?” I asked turning around and pulling my hair to the side so he could clip it. I  already knew that there was no way in hell you’d ever see me without it on. “hey, look mistletoe” I said point at the little plant hung above us. “Don’t gotta tell me twice” Pea said as he pulled me closer to him and gave me the sweetest kiss we’ve yet to share.

Interview with Thomas Mars from Phoenix (05/30/17)
Tumblr media
Interviewed by Derek Khaothong
Set to debut on June 9th, 2017, Ti Amo has been in the works as early as September 2014 by Phoenix and has been described as an album about simple pure emotions: love, desire, lust, and innocence. Ti Amo is a very picturesque album, it creates an intimate setting of a fantasized version of Italy, a paradise consisting of never-ending Roman summers, antique marble statues, and fearless desire. Beginning June 2nd, Phoenix will launch their world tour, playing alongside indie poster-boy acts like Mac Demarco, The Lemon Twigs, and Whitney. I sat down and had a chat with Thomas Mars—lead vocalist of the band to talk about what Phoenix has been up to during their four-year hiatus.
Hey Thomas! How’s it going?
T: Good, it’s nice to chat with you.
So, what’s it like to be back after a four-year hiatus? The release of new music was quite sudden, seemingly almost out of nowhere.
T: Yeah, it really was out of nowhere. We stayed in the same room to write music for about 3 years, it’s really strange because we have the most boring, most unexciting life for three years and then for a year or half, we get to travel and live this exciting life playing music for people. It was like Groundhog day—we basically stayed in the same room just writing music for three years pretty much.
Sounds like school. Living this unexciting life for the majority of your school days and then being free in the summer.
T: It’s similar to college, I’ve always been jealous of college in the US as a highlight of your life, where as in France it’s different and right from the beginning I couldn’t see myself committing to that. I’ve always envied the US for that culture.
Yeah, I guess college is really seen as this integral time of experimental development and pressure to have the best four years of their life.
T: Oh yeah, a lot of anticipation and pressure.
Congrats on Sofia’s new movie, The Beguiled. Phoenix wrote the score for the movie. Are there any differences the songwriting process when you’re writing a score for a movie versus an album?
T: It’s easier. There are limits, and we have frames of reference when we write scores. As a director, Sofia guides us in the right direction, while when it comes to our own music, we are the captain of our own ships and it can be daunting with money and time. When we first started out, renting out a studio was so expensive and we had such a limited amount of instruments and time to play. Now, there exists all of these different possibilities, which can be overwhelming. When we have a frame it allows us to be faster and more productive. We have visual cues and a preexisting environment that lets writing come easier for us.
Tumblr media
The new album experiments with a trio of three languages, blending English, some Italian, and French. What’s it like to write different melodies in all of these similar, but explicitly different languages?
T: When we write songs, the first few melodies that come out with chords come out from mumble and nonsense. When we blended all of these different languages, I saw everyone’s eyes lit with fear and excitement. There is this leap of faith and bonding quality when you write it together. Some of our lyrics in this album refer to obscure gelatos,—we’re always trying to tell a story.
Yeah, I’ve noticed this central theme of classic Italy in Ti Amo. Specifically, the theme of “television” seems to appear in J-boy, what’s the story behind that?
T: There was a lot of inspiration that came from Italian and some German television rom our childhood memories. Now, you can simply watch it all on YouTube [laughs]. There’s a goldmine of references, which are far enough in our memory to create something contemporary about it. We were not trying to be authentic, rather slightly off.
Aside from television, what else inspired you? I know artists can find inspiration from the most random physical objects out there like Mac Demarco and his Viceroy cigarettes; did the band find any particular “physical” items that helped shape the sound for Ti Amo?
T: There were some items in the studio that I’m sure played a role that we were probably unaware of. I remember this portrait of the first French Astronaut—it was there the whole time and you know it wasn’t the most high-tech outfit, yet the guy still went to space. It was a motivation that it’s possible for us [laughs]. Everything has a visual cue at some point, but I think it’s interesting to mix two things that shouldn’t be together and don’t really get along. When it’s on the same song, they are forced to co-habit.
Tumblr media
Let’s talk about the tour. Any particular festivals you excited to play?
T: The ones I don’t know. To be in Chicago one night and then at the Hollywood bowl—it’s fun to get a taste of the world in one week. It’s like an extensive course. Some of the shows when you play for a small venue are really exciting. The place I’m least excited to play are the places with so music that it feels like a factory. For example, Glastonbury has over 200 bands, which feels overwhelming because it’s a giant festival. However, I’m excited to play them all!
We talked earlier how contrast and juxtaposition between two things that should not go together can be fun to experiment with. Was it hard to make upward music in full contradiction with the political climate in Paris or did you draw inspiration from that unrest?
T: Our music is the result of trying to create a conscious formula rather than a political statement. I don’t really know how to do be political with music [laughs.] The times call for being responsible—but we got into music because we didn’t want to be responsible. I’d feel like a hypocrite if I changed that. I vote, I do things my community, and the times are horrible. For music it wouldn’t be helpful for us to go there. I don’t think it’s escapism or denial, you can tell Ti Amo is made in dark times, but there are no political statements. What’s really powerful about the arts is it can be whatever it wants to be.
Catch Phoenix playing in Los Angeles on June 15th at the Hollywood Bowl with supporting acts Mac Demarco and The Lemon Twigs.

Anisong Fantasy Live in SG Vol 1 Report - Beyond Phenomenal Concert!
Tumblr media
(image cr: AFA)
!!STATUS: STILL NOT OVER THIS CONCERT!!
It’s been two days since the concert ended and I’m still having post concert depression. So last Saturday, I attended Anisong Fantasy Live Vol 1 in Singapore which featured stunning lineup of GARNiDELiA, ELISA, Takigawa Alisa, Luna Haruna, Kalafina & Aimer. Since the lineup featured anisong artists, I’m quite familiar with all of them and their songs~ Also, I’ve been always a fan of Kalafina hence, it was like a dream came true when I saw them TT_TT
date of event: 18th March 2017
PRE ANISONG CONCERT REPORT
The whole morning of 18th March, I couldn’t focus on doing anything at all. At 4pm, I left the house and head down to the venue earlier to get some merchandise and meet up with my friends. These friends are actually Kalafina & Fictionjunction fans that I managed to contact over the net. Also if you are a fan of Kalafina/FictionJunction based in Singapore, please don’t be shy and join the group at https://www.facebook.com/groups/1936347716651751
Arrived at the venue, I went straight to the merchandise section and bought - Kalafina LIVE THE BEST 2015 “Red Day” & “Blue Day” Tote Bag & “Kalafina with Strings” Christmas Premium LIVE TOUR 2016 Plastic Folder. I wanted to get more items from the other artists but most of them are sold out ><
After that, I went ahead to meet up with my friends. Despite my first time meeting with everyone, we all managed to warm up with each other through our common interest of Kalafina. We also had a huge banner to write our messages. It was really a great sight to see that there are alot of Kalafina fans in Singapore! After everyone wrote their messages, we placed the banner at the gifts area and hoping that it will reach Kalafina safe and sound.
Tumblr media
AS I’M WRITING THIS POST, I GOT AN UPDATE FROM KALAFINA LINE BLOG THAT THEY RECEIVED THE BANNER ;AAAA; THANK YOU KALAFINA FOR ADORING YOUR FANS.

!!Be prepared for ride of emotional feels, fangirling moment & long report!!
ANISONG CONCERT REPORT
At 6:50pm, I went to the hall to find my seat and honestly at that point of time, I couldn’t contain my excitement. I was seated at the extreme left of the front row A. I had an amazing view as there wasn’t any heads to block my view and a direct view on the singers! BLESS THE VIEW AND ALL THAT WAITING FOR CONCERT TICKET DURING AFA DAY 2!
In the opening, there was a special footage of ClariS concert performance. I’m guessing that they will be one of the guest for Anisong Fantasy Live Volume 2, who knows?
GARNiDELiA
The concert kicked off with GARNiDELiA as the opening act and they really geared up the audience! With MARiA’s powerful vocals and the band’s energetic performance, I was already in the trance! Able to see MARiA so close was an experience and she’s extremely pretty with her stage outfit. Gokuraku Jodo is my current favourite song from GARNiDELiA and the band delivered it really well. Props to MARiA for singing and dancing to Gokuraku Jodo!
Here are the setlist for GARNiDELiA
ambiguous- Kill la Kill Opening 2
Blazing - Gundam: G Reconguista Opening 1
Yakusoku -promise Code- - Qualidea Code Ending 2
Gokuraku Jodo
ELISA
The last time I watched ELISA live was back in 2013 during AFA Valrave Night concert and being able to hear her live again was amazing. Her live vocals were simply beautiful from her performance of ex: tella to REALISM, despite having technical issue with the sound at first. Also, her English interaction to the audience were adorable!
ELISA: Are you ready for.
Audience: /silent, waiting for her to complete the sentence/
ELISA: Are you ready for… Are you ready for…
Audience: /knowing that ELISA was stuck with her ENGLISH & cheered!/
ELISA: /laughs & looked at the band members/
Here are the setlist for ELISA
ex:tella- Fate/EXTELLA Opening 1
Real Force - To Aru Kagaku no Railgun Ending 2
REALISM - Kakumei Valvrave Ending 2
Takigawa Alisa
Beautiful voice + playing guitar = WIN! Alisa’s performance was simply beautiful as well. Alisa definitely have the next-door-girl and carefree vibe~ Hearing her songs live brings back the Nanatsu no Taizai feels!! NOW I DEMAND A PROPER THIRD SEASON PLS!!
Here are the setlist Takigawa Alisa
Season - Nanatsu no Taizai Ending 2
Irosenai Hitomi - Nanatsu no Taizai: Seisen no Shirushi Ending 1
Sayonara no Yukue - Owarimonogatari Ending 1
Luna Haruna
When Luna Haruna appeared on stage, she brought a fun vibe alongside with her! She was totally adorable with her stage outfit! She had this very lovely and bubbly personality as seen during the interaction with audience. Though I wished that she sang her debut song, Sora wa Takaku Kaze wa Utau from Fate/Zero ending. Also, she sang one of my favourite song, Startear and it was a stellar performance with strong vocals.
Here are the setlist for Luna Haruna
Overfly - Sword Art Online Ending 2
Ai Wo Utae - Monogatari Series 2nd Season Ending 1
Startear - Sword Art Online II Ending 2
Kimiiro Signal - Saekano Opening 1
SPECIAL COLLABORATION STAGE 1 - Takigawa Alisa X ELISA X Luna Haruna X GARNiDELiA
Who knew that we could see such collaboration happened? The first collaboration featured Takigawa Alisa X ELISA and the second collaboration featured Luna Haruna x GARNiDELiA. I personally think that Alisa X ELISA voices doesn’t really suit each other for duet but nevertheless it was a good performance. Haruna x GARNiDELiA performance was really upbeat and their voices had good chemistry. The last song for the collaboration stage 1 featured Alisa X ELISA X Haruna X MARiA and overall it was an energetic all-girl performance!!
Here are the setlist for SPECIAL COLLABORATION STAGE 1
Departures ~Anata ni Okuru Ai no Uta~ (Takigawa Alisa X ELISA) - Guilty Crown Ending 1 (EGOIST)
INNOCENCE (Luna Haruna x GARNiDELiA) - Sword Art Online Opening 2 (Eir Aoi)
Sorairo Days (Takigawa Alisa X ELISA X Luna Haruna X MARiA) - Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann OST (Shoko Nakagawa)
Aimer
AIMER’S PERFORMANCE AND VOCALS WAS SO SURREAL!!! ISTG I NEARLY TEARED HEARING HER PERFORMANCE AND IT WAS SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL. Throughout her performance, she was only accompanied by a piano and I was definitely in awe ;A; This was my 2nd time hearing Aimer live and she sounded less nervous/shaky compared to her 1st live in SG during AFA2015. As always, her English was fluent and she mentioned about loving Singapore’s night scenery.
Aimer: I want my songs to inspire you in the future.
Overall, her performance was just pure eargasm!! I honestly don’t mind if she come to Singapore for her own concert and I know I will definitely attend!!
Here are the setlist for Aimer
Brave Shine - Fate/Stay Night Unlimited Blade Works 2nd Season Opening 1
LAST STARDUST - Fate/Stay Night Unlimited Blade Works OST
StarRingChild - Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn Ending 7
Akane Sasu - Natsume Yuujinchou Go Ending 1
ninelie - Koutetsujou no Kabaneri Ending 1
Kalafina
THIS IS THE PART WHERE I HAD MY EYES BURSTING WITH TEARS! When the music started playing, my heart was literally beating in excitement. I was holding Kalafina LIVE THE BEST 2015 “Blue Day” Towel in that hopes that the members will take notice of it. AND THEY DID! During the encore, Keiko was saying about how she saw some fans holding Kalafina concert towel and she felt grateful towards the fans!
For the 1st song - Magia, Kalafina wore beautiful kimono-like robe and they revealed their 2nd outfit during One Light. Hikaru and Wakana were mostly at my left side of the stage. I WAS FREAKING OUT THAT HIKARU MET MY EYES DURING THE ONE LIGHT PERFORMANCE, SAW MY KALAFINA TOWEL AND SMILED!!
Kalafina closed their segment by singing Sprinter and I WAS CRYING INSIDE BECAUSE OF KARA NO KYOUKAI FEELS! I sang my heart out, following to the lyrics of the song ;AAA; KALAFINA’s performance was truly mesmerizing and given the chance to watch it live was a dream come true!!
Here are the setlist for Kalafina
Magia - Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica Ending 1
One Light - Arslan Senki (TV) Ending 2
Kimi no Gin no Niwa - Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica Movie 3 Ending 1
ring your bell - Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works 2nd Season Ending 1
Sprinter (Band Version) - Kara no Kyoukai 5: Mujun Rasen Ending 1
SPECIAL COLLABORATION STAGE 2 - Kalafina X Aimer
THIS COLLABORATION WAS SIMPLY BEYOND WORDS!! I can’t describe that feeling when Kalafina and Aimer were singing each other song. Seeing them both on the same stage was honestly remarkable. IT WAS EXTRA MAGICAL AND THAT MOMENT IS SO PRECIOUS!!! I honestly can’t describe how beautiful their vocals blended together ;A; Aimer started singing Believe’s first verse and when Kalafina started to harmonise, I had goosebumps!!
Their interaction with the audience was fun as well! As Aimer came for Singapore for 3 times and Kalafina only came for 2 times, Kalafina asked Aimer for any recommendation spots.
Kalafina: Do you have recommendation spots?
Aimer: Last time I came here (speaking in Japanese)
Keiko: /trying to translate Aimer’s speech through actions/ WWWW
Aimer: I went to Botanic Garden. It’s a flower garden and it was really wild.
Kalafina: Wah, we want to go!
After the interaction, Kalafina mentioned that since Aimer sang their song so its Kalafina’s turn to sing Aimer’s song. IT WAS ANOTHER MASTERPIECE :’)))
Here are the setlist for Kalafina X Aimer
believe (acoustic version) - Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works 2nd Season Ending 2) (Kalafina)
Anata ni Deawanakereba ~Kasetsu Touka~ - Natsuyuki Rendezvous Ending 1 (Aimer)
Kalafina x Aimer was honestly the perfect way to ended off Anisong Fantasy Live. IT WAS WORTH EVERY PENNY FOR THIS CONCERT!!
POST ANISONG CONCERT REPORT
I was still feeling surreal after the concert ended. Some of the audience were waiting for group photo with the anisong artists and I didn’t, since my seat wasn’t picked during the lucky draw ;A; But Kalafina and Aimer weren’t part of the group photo so I don’t feel too sad about it.
Anyways, this concert will forever etched in my memory. Also, VIP ticket holders were given an autographed printed poster and I shall treasure that. Below are my loots:
Tumblr media
ALL IN ALL, ITS BEEN AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE ATTENDING THIS CONCERT. THANK YOU SOZO AND SONY MUSIC FOR MAKING THIS HAPPENED. THANK TO ALL THE ARTISTS AND BAND MEMBERS AS WELL!!~~

What’s On in Copenhagen: June 2018
There’s nothing quite like summer in Copenhagen. If we’re blessed with good weather, that is. And we don’t want to jinx it or anything, but so far this year has been bloody spectacular. So get out your diary and note down all the great things you’re going to be doing this month in between sunbathing; there’s plenty!
Here are the best events happening in Copenhagen, Denmark, throughout June:
Wednesday 30th May to Sunday 3rd June
Distortion Festival
It’s that time of year again, and it’s their 20 year anniversary! Get ready for drunken revelry in the streets and lots of house music. The Nørrebro and Vesterbro neighborhoods may be getting sick of Distortion, but we think it’ll still be around annoying people, like the little brother in Teen Witch, for years to come.
    Friday 1st June
Trampoline House’s 7th Birthday
Happy birthday to Trampoline House, the community centre that supports refugees and asylum seekers in Copenhagen! They’ll be hosting an afternoon of fun from 4 pm including speeches, singing, exhibitions, and more. Go toast this wonderful organisation!
    The Room at Husets Biograf
Known as “the Citizen Kane of bad movies,” The Room is truly something to behold. If you’re interested in the backstory of this cult classic bad film, check out the recent film The Disaster Artist or the podcast How Did This Get Made, episode #23. There will be two screenings: one at 7 pm and the other at 9:30 pm.
youtube
    Saturday 2nd June
Open Firestation in Frederiksberg
The Frederiksberg fire station will be open from 10 am – 1 pm. This is a great thing to take the kids to see; touch the fire truck, learn about how the station runs, and see firemen and women in their gear.
    Spice World at Cinemateket
The feminist manifesto of our time (we kid, but still, girl power forever!) will be back on the big screen. Enjoy the movie that had us all asking: “how big are tour buses, exactly?!”
youtube
    Sunday 3rd June
Studenterhuset Flea Market
Need something new to wear for that upcoming holiday? Buy second-hand clothes and accessories at the Studenterhuset flea market, open from 11 am – 4 pm. Entrance is free, so go have a good browse around.
    Princess Mononoke at Cinemateket
This historical fantasy epic anime film follows the story of the gods of the forest and their fight against the humans who destroy it through their consumption, as well as prince Ashitaka’s role in the fight. It is an absolutely stunning movie that is not to be missed; if you can’t make this showing, it will be on again on the 30th, and again in July.
youtube
    Tuesday 5th June
Constitution Day
Called Grundlovsdag in Danish, Danish Constitution Day celebrates both the 1849 signing of the original Constitution and the adoption of the current 1953 Constitution. Many businesses will be closed or only open until noon, and office are closed, so enjoy a day with friends, family, or just relaxing. Fingers crossed for sunshine!
    Thursday 7th – Sunday 17th June
Copenhagen Photo Festival
The annual photo festival is back to showcase some of the best photographic talents from Denmark and around the world. See exhibitions, attend talks and workshops, and learn more about the art of photography. There are locations all over the city, but the centre of everything is at Photo City in Carlsberg Byen.
    Thursday 7th June
Designing for Natural Interfaces at Space10
This talk at Space10 examines the body as a digital user interface and how technology is being developed with intuitive use in mind. If you’re interested in the ways that technology can be designed with a more natural usage pattern, you won’t want to miss this talk. It will be hosted by a panel of experts (TBD) and is free.
(function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = 'https://connect.facebook.net/en_GB/sdk.js#xfbml=1&version=v3.0'; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);}(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk'));
Posted by SPACE10 on Thursday, 17 May 2018
    First Hate at Lillefredag, Tivoli
Danish pop duo First Hate will be performing at Tivoli’s Lillefredag. If you’re not familiar with their sound, it’s very New Wave – in the best way. Singer Anton Falck is an absolute joy to watch on stage, and his deep, sonorous voice recalls Ian Curtis of Joy Division.
youtube
    Friday 8th June
Trevor Noah at Forum
The South African comedian is performing in Copenhagen. Well-known in South Africa for his hilarious stand-up, Noah has more recently become a household name as the host of the news satire TV program “The Daily Show.” If you haven’t seen the impressions peppered throughout his stand-up, check out the clip below!
youtube
    Saturday 9th June
Bonnie and Clyde at Cinemateket
See Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty in perhaps their most iconic roles in this 1967 film directed by Arthur Penn. The acting, the aesthetic; it’s all great. The film, based on a true story, is about two young people who go on a crime spree in the 1930s. At the time the film was released, the violence was extremely controversial. There will be an introduction by University of Copenhagen lecturer and author Peter Schepelern.
youtube
    Sunday 10th June
Trendsales x Tradono Fashion Flea Market
Take a stroll around this high-end monthly flea market for affordable fashion finds. It’s a treasure trove! The market is on Israel Plads just next to Torvehallerne, so go grab some good food and ferret out your next great outfit. The market is open 10 am – 4 pm.
Anti-Westerns: Soldier Blue at Husets Biograf
This Sunday series explores the “anti-Western” films of the 1970s that sought to subvert the “good cowboy, bad Native American, weak woman” stereotypes. Soldier Blue (1970) was directed by Ralph Nelson, and stars Candace Bergen and Peter Strauss. The film, which depicts graphic violence against Native American women and children, is meant to double as an allegory for the Vietnam War. There will be two other anti-Westerns (also known as revisionist Westerns) shown on
youtube
    Friday 15th June
Animal Collective at Store Vega
See the massively popular American experimental pop band. Their eclectic take on both their sound and who actually appears in the band on any given day have made them a somewhat mysterious, but greatly beloved, group.
youtube
    Sunday 17th June
Danish on a Sunday: QEDA at Cinemateket
Danes don’t typically produce sci-fi films, but this is one of the few. If you’re into the genre, it’s definitely worth checking out. Set in 2095, the film follows Fang Rung in a dystopian future as he undergoes molecular fission and sends his other half back in time. As with all “Danish on a Sunday” films, there will be English subtitles.
youtube
Angus & Julia Stone at Store Vega
The Australian brother and sister duo are coming to Store Vega for what is sure to be a relaxed and mesmerising show. We love their folky, indie pop.
youtube
    Wednesday 20th – Saturday 23rd June
Copenhell
The massive heavy metal festival on Refshaleøen is back and their line up this year is rad. Alice in Chains, Ozzy Osbourne, Deftones, and Kreator will be taking the stage, just to name a few. The vibe here is always good old heavy metal fun; everyone is just there to rock out. There are still tickets left, but they go fast.
youtube
    Friday 22nd – Saturday 30th June
Rebel Without a Cause at Cinemateket
If you haven’t yet seen the classic 1955 film “Rebel Without a Cause,” starring James Dean (he died before the film’s release), Natalie Wood, and Sal Mineo, you’re in luck: Cinemateket will be showing it every day for a week! The film tells the story of Jim, Judy, and Plato, three suburban teenagers dealing with various emotional issues stemming from their parents. At the time, the film was groundbreaking for its portrayal of middle class, suburban youth as troubled. Dean’s portrays of Jim is raw and wonderful.
youtube
    Saturday 23rd June – Sunday 24th June
Rosé Festival
Love rosé? Who doesn’t! Get yourself a ticket to this very summer-ish festival and enjoy a few glasses of something pink and tasting of strawberries. Mmm.
    Saturday 23rd June
Sankt Hans Aften
Enjoy the celebration of the summer solstice, and the feast of Saint John the Baptist, with bonfires, beers, and singing. You can find out all the best places to join bonfires parties here.
    Monday 25th June
Ziggy Marley at Store Vega
Catch reggae and dub star Ziggy Marley performing at Store Vega. He always puts on a killer show and the beats will be excellent.
youtube
    Wednesday 30th June – Thursday 7th July
Roskilde Festival
Northern Europe’s biggest rock festival is back. There’s the music, of course (headliners this year include Eminem, Cardi B, and Vince Staples), but Roskilde is also serving up exciting food, and fun festival style. It’s a massive party, and all of Denmark will be there!
    Ongoing in June
“VERY: Ed Ruscha on Paper” Exhibition at Louisiana Museum of Modern Art
See 54 paper works by living legend American artist Ed Ruscha, together for the first time thanks to the UBS Art Collection. Ruscha’s sly take on American culture, and particularly the LA landscape, is a real treat.
High On Luxury: Lost Treasures of the Roman Empire Exhibit at Glyptoteket
Silver, gold, gems and luxury items created during the Roman Empire, celebrating artisan craftsmanship and decadence. If you’re in the mood to party, but in a super-cultured way, this is the exhibit for you.
Jesper Christiansen “Touchstone” Exhibit at GL Strand
Danish painter Jesper Christiansen is renown for his literary paintings that create almost-theatrical scenes and staging. “Touchstone” combines text with paintings to showcase the relationship between the words and visuals. A really interesting and unique museum experience!
Mathias Bengtsson “Organic Transformations” Exhibit at Designmuseum Danmark
This is a small exhibition in the hall between the lobby and the cafe of Designmuseum Danmark, but it’s really worth a visit. These incredible pieces are a blend of furniture and art; one-off pieces that utilise new technological advances to create awe-inspiring textures.

Peter Havens was given life over 20 years ago by Thomas Dahlin and Gregg Van Iderstine. The restaurant has since become a fixture in the Brattleboro community. With Thom’s gracious hospitality and Gregg’s thoughtful cooking, Peter Havens gained a loyal following of locals and travelers alike looking for a warm welcome and delicious food.
In 2012, Thom and Gregg decided to pass the torch on to a young inspired chef, Zachary Corbin. Without a misstep, Zach continues the Peter Havens tradition of providing fresh, beautiful and consistent food. A native of Vermont, Zach uses his fifteen years of culinary experience to focus on the local bounties of the green mountain state, putting out thoughtful and inspired meals night after night.

Whimsy & Tea
The first time I said to someone, “I make cloth,” something resonated deep inside me. Making cloth is something so basic and yet so profound.
Cloth is such an integral part of our lives, from waking to sleeping, from birth to death, that we don’t always notice it. It even permeates our language with expressions such as ‘the fabric of our lives,’ ‘the unifying thread,’ ‘close-knit family,’ and even the ‘world-wide web.’
Cloth is woven with threads interlacing to create a whole. A life also has various threads and patterns. When I learned to weave in 2005, I felt I was coming home. Weaving, and in particular weaving kitchen towels, combines many things that I have loved since I was young.
