i don’t feel right putting my opinion here as i am white and from the us so im not even close to the demographic of people you’re talking about, but i just wanted to say i like reading your posts!

now i don’t know everything that dan and/or phil has said, but i do think it’s important to realize the context

i really do wish they were going to other countries, as it does suck that they aren’t able to see everyone, but i’m also sure they have a valid reason for not, whatever that reason may be…i can’t see them deliberately avoiding other countries just cause there’s “better” options (not saying there are better options i just couldn’t think of another word hehe)

i feel very privileged to be in a place financially (barely) and geographically to see it

i don’t think it’s that outlandish to say that they’ll do something to attempt to make up to the people who couldn’t see it, but i know it won’t be as good as it should be, which isn’t fun

also, i will agree that i don’t like the arguments of other countries not accepting of gay rights, as there’s not much weight there. not only do gay people live there too, but they’ve been to japan three different times. they love it there, and while there’s other countries that are definitely worse when it comes to queer rights, gay marriage isn’t legal there and they obviously know that

tl;dr, i completely understand what your saying, and while calling them “racist” is a little harsh, i definitely understand that not going to other places is not ideal and wish they are able to be more inclusive to everyone

i know they’re touring cause they love it, especially dan, and that going everywhere is impossible, but that does not mean that people can’t complain about them not going over to where they live

Hey! So yeah again as I've said many times but feel the need to reiterate: what originally started the discussions from poc and particularly non western blogs was that they have made disparaging remarks particularly to do with tours like come to brazil type remarks and then not taken time to add on like, one line or anything somewhere about not touring in entire continents.

Also obviously we don't think they aren't visiting because they think we're lower to them or whatever, and I'd say you'd be hard pressed to find a post on my blog that says that. Seriously, try it, no implications of the sort have been made, we are just saying it's clear that they've never felt the need to makeup for past mistakes either, and then the phandom defends them each time and all of that together feels very alienating, especially when western fans talk down to us constantly and feel the need to tell us to chill out or whatever and make it out to be that the tour is the primary issue

It isn't! This isn't about the tour!!! The tour was the latest thing that sparked the discussions again because some people, especially LATAM fans who have microagressed So Often, were understandably thinking "seriously they aren't gonna say anything about it?"

And again, I will ask that you try because you'll be hard pressed to find a post on my blog where we day dnp "are racists". My previous ask to this also explains this but just because someone "isn't racist" doesn't mean that when they do racist things we don't call those things "racist behaviours". Racist microagressions are still racist even when coming from goody two shoes progressives. Please understand this and don't get defensive over the language, it's a humble request

And if I may for anyone else looking to talk with me about this in any way, please please stop bringing up the tour with me. hi! first of all, i'm so sorry you're feeling the way that you are. you've helped open my eyes to things i admittedly didn't know (dan's comment at wad, for example) or didn't notice. i'm glad you're receiving at least some support from other phans! i don't know if this helps at all (and it's not me trying to excuse dan), but i wanted to add some context to his "third-world country" reference. as an american, i can tell you that we grew up learning "this"third world" as the proper term. most of my colleagues, friends, family members, etc. STILL use it casually to refer to developing nations/the global south - we were literally taught to use it in school. of course it has since become obsolete, as the wording is incredibly offensive. i know about this because of my time in academia, but this awareness hasn't at all spread to the general population (especially in dan's/my generation of millennials and older). as smart as i do think dan is, i wonder if that's also the case in england. he has the responsibility to educate and inform himself and he needs to acknowledge that he's hurt and alienated a large proportion of his fanbase, so i still hope he'll do that soon.

as for the tour, one of my my best friends is mexican (and lives in mexico) and she was really disappointed during ii when they had to cancel the announced mexico dates. they had assumed the dates would work out, but - if i remember correctly - were presented with a lot of visa/permissions issues. they tried to make it work but it didn't, and they waited much too long to tell anyone. my guess is that they wanted to avoid a similar disappointment this time and not give anyone false hope, nor accidentally say anything negative about those countries as they explain their reasoning (which, of course, just comes off worse - ignoring is never the issue).

other artists have had similar issues with asian and middle eastern countries as well, as there is increased censorship and visa requirements. i've spent four years of my life in asian countries (and a few months in south america) and know that there are phans there who'd love to see them, but it might not be feasible.

ultimately, however, dan and phil owe everyone transparency and need to acknowledge if they're having difficulties with bookings in other countries and why. they usually go back and add dates later, so fingers crossed that they're trying to work out some dates in latam and may yet still add them.

It’s the lack of transparency that is the issue here. How am I supposed to trust them when they won’t tell me anything in the first place? And if they expect me to assume for the best, I don’t think I can do that. Not with all the time they tried to bury their mistakes when people have been hurt as if it’s nothing. I’m sorry but if they’re choosing to look good in the public eye before choosing us, then I don’t think I can trust them anymore. And it’s not that they’ll look bad when they’re talking about this stuff, but the fact they have never once talked about it ever really makes it feel like they want to keep this shut. And that hurts a lot.

listen, i'm gonna say something mmmm maybe controversial idk but the whole "having to run the confession by jensen" thing that some are quick to point to as "proof" of homophobic jensen is 1. just silly considering even IF they were actually looking for his approval he clearly was fine with it since the confession obviously happened, but 2. WOULD make a lot of sense if dean was also reciprocating or more involved in the scene (rather than just standing there receiving the confession), because, well, you'd want both actors to be on board with the scene. and misha was told abt the scene and consulted abt it early on. and it was one of the earliest scenes written for s15. the whole season built around the knowledge of the confession, in context of this scene eventually happening. and then all the stories they've told abt the day of filming the scene, how enthusiastic they were about it, the handprint stuff, jensen wanting the scene filmed on his phone, how emotional and important the scene felt for both of them, how they hugged it out after, how giddy jensen was talking abt the scene in that interview after it aired. misha and jensen sending each other fan reaction videos. it was clearly something that was important to both of them and it just makes me wonder more abt the actual context of that meeting during the planning stages for s15, now with all this speculation abt the latam dub and the possibility of an earlier version where dean DID explicitly reciprocate.

Dude, IM part of the Spanish community and I thought Roier was being a total ass to Pepito's OG admin. That anon cant speak for us all and I honestly feel like Roier was mean as hell to that poor admin the hole damn time. I remember when he started pointing out the admins were changing and thought it was so rude to call out the REAL PEOPLE who were playing and acting like they HAD to act a specific way (like RIchas) or else he would spend the hole steam yelling at him, hitting him, insulting him as a """"joke"""" I fucking hated watching Roier and Pepito interact and NOT because of Pepito thats for sure. I was so glad when other people started looking after him and I feel so deeply bad for that poor OG admin who didnt get to play THEIR FUCKING character. I hate seeing people be like "we liked the other Pepito cause he fallowed Roier's story better" what about THAT ADMINS story???? As if these arnt real ass people roleplaying but just characters you can rewrite and should fit to form every time. The other eggs can have bad days and bad moods but Pepito cant? Its not only unfair and mean but it proved Pepito's self hatred right till the very end. Pepito's story is "If im not happy and bubbly 100% of the time ill be hated by the people meant to love me no matter what" and thats just shitty. I guess I can understand there was a tonal misunderstanding because Roier is more jokey and non serious and Pepito's OG admin seemed to me more in deep rp mode at all times and maybe that wasnt what was best for Roier's play style, thats fine. But to blame it all on """cultural differences""" and that the admin was rude is honestly just not it.

Well, I think I will be fully honest and say that at the time, I stopped to watch any Roier qsmp steam because of Pepito. I didn't necessarly believed ccRoier was a bad person, it was just that the route qRoier's and Pepito's relationship were going was triggering some bad memories. It is weird that we know now that the actors weren't allowed to contact the ccs because you would think the story lines that both Roier and the og admin wanted to tell should required a lot of communication between the player and the actor.

I don't think that is either their fault that they wanted different storyline, but

I think Roier usually is very light-hearted with his humor and jokes about "la chancla"/"o chinelo" are very common place in LATAM, many latino kids are spanked during their childhoods and using it in humor is not a uncommon thing.

I think the context that the og admin is not from LATAM and did not speak spanish as her first language, adds to why they crashed so much in rp/humor style.

I don't think Roier was trying to be insulting, at least not out of charcter, but it is okay to have your own feeling about it.

It sad that I think this could have been avoided if Roier and the admin had a chance to talk.

I do not think that the admin was rude while I was watching but for what others said it was a situation were Roier was trying out of character explaning events of the week when the admin cursed at him. Not having spanish as their first language may have caused the admin to not realize the weight of what they were saying, they probably pretended to be light hearted.

But, well, it wasn't, at least not for those that were watching. And while I will repeat what I said before that the admin shouldn't be treated as trash or if there is something personallly wrong with them, they were rude in a situation, that is it.

yep! Such an obviously timed denial that it’s basically transparent. I will reiterate my points here again, because this has frustrated me dearly as someone who is actively in the industry and has seen successful pr stunts and coverups. His team can’t crack the larries tho.

1. Timing - pre recorded denial dropped for promo as he left LATAM to go MIA before going back to tour in a few weeks + everyone will cool off by then

2. Urgency - there are no current media publications or any GP chats suggesting Louis and Harry are together, and there hasn’t been for a long time now, so there’s no damage control to be done (unless something hasn’t come out yet and it’s in preparation for said thing, BUA perhaps)

3. Content - drops the “my son Freddie” during it as well, boosting that stunt because it’s been pretty quiet since AOTV and a couple of tweets ages ago. again, no explicit denial and poor body language

4. Blacklisted Topic - we saw the other interviewer shut down the F thing, and he’s had many interviews where Larry and F aren’t brought up at all. It’s a topic put in there when it’s useful

5. Relevancy - not relevant to tour or current media presence whatsoever

6. Consistency - all interviews we have gotten recently have been strictly about his career, his festival, tour, inspirations etc., and we have one very personal and touchy topic randomly brought in with no context whatsoever

But I think what is making people stressed about this particular denial is because there was nothing calling for it. No media stir, no mentions of their names together or directly tied in media, no scandal or damage control (unless something breaks), so it seems more genuine and not just like he’s trying to clean up a mess like so many times before. But it’s also very obvious promo. Dropped as soon as he leaves LATAM? And everyone will cool off by the time he’s back. Absolutely standard and poorly done PR.

I don’t think managers know what they’re getting into when they start handling a 1d boy, frankly because our fandom is truly one of a kind. But, as much as I hate to say it, the Azoff’s have done what louis’ team should have done too. Stay silent about it, it’s not necessary to comment unless something big happens and it needs damage control. you’re only attacking your fans here, bud.

so, anyway… the patterns of every other denial have led to a BUA, a scandal, or their names being tied together and Larry being of public interest. Or have come from those things prior. However, this denial will probably pick up in the media, and tie louis’ name to Harry’s once more, to boost him a bit to sell some tickets.

everything was going so well, it was great to see him not talk about his personal life. so, it’s foreshadowing and a poor promo move, or just a poor promo move.

Usotsuki Satsuki wa Shi ga Mieru/Liar Satsuki Can See Death

"Hey... Tomorrow, you're going to die." Minazuki Satsuki, 16 years old. By all accounts your average 2nd year high schooler, apart from being a social misfit always declaring her classmates' impending deaths. They've nicknamed her Usotsuki (Liar) but her eyes are special indeed. What she sees with them is.. The grand return of Ryoko-sensei, author of Shi ni Aruki! A horror-suspense manga fighting backwards against fate. For every death (question), there must be a reason (solution)

This post is gonna attempt to be a somewhat spoiler free review/reccomendation of Liar Satsuki Can See Death. I will try to cover most of what people should know going into it but i will say now that if you enjoy murder mystery with some interesting characters and some light gore wont bother you then please jump right in its a brilliant read.

Ryoukos first work Shi ni Aruki/Walk to Death is set in the same universe. Despite this it is not required to be read before Liar Satsuki, however I will say it gives some wonderful context to how trauma manifests in this world. If you do want to read it I will warn its alot darker than Liar Satsuki so if you struggle with gore/topics of suicide or trauma I would be careful approaching Shi ni Aruki.

I will put any spoilers i need to cover under the cut.

Now, Liar Satsuki Can See Death has been rotating in my mind violently for months. If it even gets a bit more attention cause of this post i will be so happy. The concept of the manga lies in our protagonist Minazuki Satsuki being able to see premonition bodies of people who are gonna die 24 hours before they do. She uses this to inspect how they died and use the clues to change fate and keep them alive.

More than that Liar Satsuki is a look into trauma manifesting as powers surrounding death. (Shi ni Aruki covers this more in depth for the mechanics but its present all throughout Ryoukos work.) Its a story of healing through trusting the people around you and growing as a person. Satsukis sight for death directly relates to her trauma and how she takes on a responsibilty for everyones safety. Her lack of care for herself while honorable from the outside spirals her into constant danger, reflecting back on her trauma that she isnt able to overcome alone. It ends up consuming her life, her only goal being to keep everyone alive and safe as she obsessively considers every possible danger.

I would once again seriously recommend just reading the first chapter as it is one of the best opening chapters of manga I have read and manages to land the concept so neatly.

And on top of that, going back once you know more about each character is incredibly eye opening. I would honestly read the story again from another characters perspective just to see what it was like for them.

Anyway.

Throughout the manga Satsuki is challenged on her core ideals, on her self and her actions. New characters, plot setups and groups are constantly switched out while at its core the theme remains a murder mystery. The manga takes the times to give lighthearted moments between all the thriller action and never shys away from showing just how much each character is developed (Ryouko is excellent with their characters). I would call the manga formulaic but it so regularly switches out the cast, their motives and how they challenge Satsuki that it always feels fresh. Its not afraid to frame her as wrong, or to show that people arent inherantly good. It is wholeheartedly human in its exploration of trauma and ideologies. Akira and Satsuki being the most prominant part of this as Akira fights Satsuki constantly to see her happy while Satsuki neglets herself in favour of keeping people alive. People that they are both aware hardly care for Satsuki.

This has all been without mentioning the pacing, use of frames and art of this manga that are all just incredible. Casual scenes showing papers getting picked up by wind becoming relevant later. The details of pacing and elements of environment being used to help convey each scene it is beautifully done. Ryouko is a genius!

From here i cant say much more witout spoiling major plotpoints so before then i will link a wonderful music video made by Re:Riza for the first chapter! Please check out their other work too!

Speaking of foils. Mikami Kai, the student council president is the perfect antagonist foil. He begins to come across as just an annoyance but as he shows up more often his nature begins to show. Kai is Satsuki, they share the same eyes and they share the same trauma, just on opposite ends. Where Satsuki holds the pain of failing to stop someone from dying, Kai holds the pain of failing to help someone soon enough. He is weak and unable to do much but his eyes help him set up exact situations of accidental deaths. Despite him thinking he is doing the right thing he is only murdering those who dont fit into his worldview.

This is where Satsuki shines. She is relentless in her resolve to keep saving people. And its through her friends challenging her that she fully commits to that unwavering determination. Without them she might have given up but shes seen enough proof that its worth all the pain. Expanding on that she grows past helping people out of guilt, she finds reason in knowing shes helping people because she cares, because she knows it will be okay, because she will make it better. Her story is one of healing trauma and ive never seen it done so well.

Komachi Komako is a girl surrounded by death. She has dealt with it alone her whole life just like Satsuki. For her however, the world is uncaring and she is just waiting for the people around her to die. Even then the greatest kindness he can offer is comfort in death, all she can do is make sure their last moments are peaceful.

She is unable to see a future to hope for and as she realises whats been happening to Satsuki, she realises she is the source of her pain. Komachis story might seem out of place if you havent read Shi ni Aruki but her pain and life are interwoven with Satsukis. As death follows her and Satsuki can clear away that fog of death. (I still personally ship Akira and Satsuki but.) For Komachi looking back to the story she truly has no one on her side and has no reason to beleive that she can be saved. It is only in the final moments that Satsuki, bright as she always is, breaks through that fog of death that surrounds Komachi. This is Satsukis prestiege, she knows herself now and isnt acting out of guilt. This is Komachis break into hope, as she is once again pulled away from the edge, but this time shown that there will be someone there by her side. For the first time in her whole life she is not alone.

This post is long enough, i want to talk about Shiina Miho but ive rambled enough!!! (Shes really good though i love her). Thank you for reading if you got this far! I love this manga and could talk about it all day so i hope at least some of that reached you.

Hi Tissy, yes I’m the original anon who brought up the Otipep situation and discussed some disappointment towards the blind support of the OG admin! I’ll use the “💫” as a sign off for any of my anon asks to make it easier :D

I read through other anon asks and your responses and honestly, it brings me a lot of comfort to see someone being completely understanding of this whole situation! Also big thanks to the anon who mentioned how some of the admins such as Lumi and Cherry were supporting Puella, but the hispanic admins like Haru, Lina and even MrPastelito expressed complete confusion and distaste towards the situation. It honestly does show that the other two admins are clearly uneducated with what the OG admin did was wrong, but at the same time, I fear that if people try to educate them on the matter, there will be massive backlash towards both sides, each one being called “ignorant” or “xenophobic”, cause sadly, on twitter, everything will be taken as hate and not as clear criticism.

It just feels like at this point, it’s just a matter of waiting, sitting and waiting like sitting ducks. Cause no matter what, many things will be taken out of context and used as hate when it’s not. And seeing everything go on, as a LATAM fan who supports the well being of the project, the admins on the current team, the admins who left and the admins who were affected, it’s disappointing and disheartening to see those who you support show that they are either extremely uneducated or xenophobic. :((

(As for the situation with Tilin’s admin, this occurred last year after she left and people found out she had liked/supported nsfw art of CCs, last i heard of them was when she came back to hate on the project when Lea had first showed everything going on, but she quickly deactivated or went private when people pointed out what she did and how contradicting her (Tilin’s admin) was towards the project)

I'm trying to remain as open, honest and subjective as possible but I have so many opinions on this matter. It's concerning thr support Otipep is receiving for that situation in particular. It's also concerning how people seem to not fully understand why the Hispanic community is angry and disappointed in Lea. People assume it's because she spoke out against QStudios which is not the case. I do imagine there are some people who are mad at her for that reason, but most of us genuinely do have concerns that her xenophobia is sending many many wrong messages. I support her in getting compensation and being in a safe place of work, but we can be disappointed in her as well.

That is the Latin American consumer’s profile, according to the “Pulso Latam” study carried out by the consultancy BMC Innovation. The consultancy surveyed 6,000 consumers in Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, Peru, and Chile between March and May 2024 to get insights into consumer behavior and the region’s economic and social context.

Among the group of six countries, more than half of the respondents indicated they resort to cheaper brands when buying food (53%) and cleaning products (52%). The proportion is also high for personal care items (45%), but less frequent for non-alcoholic beverages (26%), clothing (26%), and electronic products (17%). Promotions are also widespread and frequently used in the following categories: food (43%); cleaning products (37%); and personal care items (38%).

“Consumers have gained an active role in purchasing strategy. The buying experience is much more segmented and hybrid than it was before. Impulse buying was much more constant and important than it is today. That means the end of impulse consumption,” said BMC’s director in Brazil, Rafael Pelosini. About the demand for shows too? I am only in dnp online spaces when they are active and I ask cause I was unaware people felt hurt by that comment up to today reading through your tumblr which was quite a shock to me cause I never even registered it as an insult, just like that Mexican fan anon you received, in my country its also a term that’s still used colloquially. Mirian and others from twt have been very vocal about it from the start. She has recorded a sound clip when it happened and showed it to people when she’s addressing this issue. She and a bunch of other people have addressed this again when the fake apology video happened, saying they refusing to acknowledge and apologize for the real thing. All those instances were, of course, got shunned down by people. From what I’ve heard, every time someone tries to bring it up, they’ll be silent by other twitter users. Dnp surely must have seen this for a while now, they have yet to address it. They probably won’t if we were to not call them out again.

It’s completely valid for you not to feel offended by this, we all have a different experience after all. You don’t have to be mad about any of this to still enjoy this space. I’m just hoping to bring this to light for those who’s affected by it. Because it’s not fair to keep shutting people up when they’re hurt, and it’s not okay to not do anything about it now.
