ONCE UPON A TIME : A SUMMARY

This was a pain in the ass to upload onto here, but I hope you guys like! I put SO much effort into this. I just thought it'd be cool to make an epic little edit that really captures how amazing this show is and why we all love it so much. And of course, I centered it around the one who kickstarted the show and brought back all the happy endings- the saviour herself.

Words can't describe how happy I am that other people finally know about the OUAT Rock Opera!

On Spotify, I've been the SOLE monthly listener on the song "Evil" for the last couple years. And also the sole listener of "Savior Problems" which is an Emma/Regina/Snow rap song with a music video on YouTube.

Erin Stegeman is the person who made the Rock Opera and plays Emma Swan. She also made "Savior Problems". And also some OUAT skits called Once Upon a Anonymous, which is basically a bunch of Storybrooke/fairytale folk in magic AA meetings. Hilariously ridiculous, same vibes as the Rock Opera, highly recommend it all. Check out her YouTube channel

Ok I finished the OUAT rock opera! Thoughts:

-Cruella ate this whole thing up ngl. Ursula and Ariel were great, too. Overall the cast got a decent laugh out of me

-I think they mentioned tacos like twice in this? I totally forgot about that, but now I think I’m a sleeper agent and my conditioning will get triggered the next time I hear that word

-Chatttt, how much aura do I lose if I admit that I would unironically bump Charmingstein and Tinker My Bell 😭 the other songs were kinda forgettable though

-Honestly, this whole thing fits in between season 3a & 3b well enough where I’d buy it if you told me it’s canon lol

-Glad they acknowledged SwanQueen a little at the end there. Just in general the in jokes all worked pretty well (tacos, Neal’s rent, Ruby randomly showing up, all the subtle jokes about Mulan and Aurora being gay, etc)

-No idea what the FUCK was goin on with Rumple but it’s ok because I lost my shit laughing when he finally showed up

-Also: Charming’s stupid ass sacrifice made me lose it. David is just built different

-Snow with the ukulele 😭 Mary Margaret Blanchard apology video when???

Overall a batshit good time. Made me wonder if I was high the entire time (I didn’t consume anything that would have that effect at all today) so that’s some kind of achievement I suppose. Overall 8/10, would watch again

I am officially entering my Regina Mills Era! So, upon hearing Taylor Swift's latest album, the song "Who's Afraid of Little Old Me" got me thinking. The lyrics fit her story so well. Thanks to a gifset of Regina to some of the lyrics by @itwasmagic, I got inspired to this video for the song!

OUAT APPRECIATION WEEK 2024

DAY 6- STORYLINE THAT NEVER WAS:

Song: 'Below the Surface' by Griffinilla

THE SPLIT SERUM CAUSED THE EVIL QUEEN TO CONSUME REGINA.

I don't like how the show treated Split!Queen as a separate person. I love Regina SOOOO much, but you can't just remove her evil half and act as if she never did the things she did. Because the fact remains- Regina DID commit the monstrosities she did as The Evil Queen, and that's what makes her redemption so satisfying to watch, because she has genuinely become the best version of herself by the time the show decided to split her in two. So my what-if is this: what if the serum backfired when Snow injected it into Regina? Instead of the darkness being removed from inside her, it begins to take over Regina's body until it is the only thing that remains. But this doesn't mean the good in Regina is gone- it is just buried deep down inside of her, trying to resurface, and struggling immensely. So Regina goes dark, with the serum giving the darkness full control over her. As much as she wants to stop (and she REALLY does want to), Regina is unable to keep herself from falling to the darkness again. As much as they fear for Regina now, the hero squad still love her all the same, and want to find a way to re-ignite the good within her and help bring it back to the surface. However, if the hero squad succeed, this won't just solve everything. If they manage to get her good side to be re-ignited, Regina will still have to overcome the darkness raging within her, and only then will she return to the surface. Overcoming the darkness won't destroy it or The Evil Queen, like what the show tried to do. This will just bury it all deep down, like what happened to Regina and her goodness when the serum took over. She'll have to live with her darkness, but instead of looking at it as something to resent or torture herself with, she revels in knowing that she has come so far since then, and the fact that she will never go down that path again. She has her friends, she has her family, people who love her. And you know what? That's all she ever needed.
