Favorite character or OTP

I decided to do both, so here goes this sickeningly fluffy Skwistok drabble from Toki's POV, because he's my favorite and Skwistok is my OTP.

This is my first time participating in this event 🥳 I'll try to do as much days as I can 💪

Golden locks swaying with the wind, dressed in all white like an ethereal being, floating in the skies with a smile that shone like the sun, almost rendering Toki blind.

But, most importantly, the guitar. Playing melodies that had struck Toki’s heart like cupid’s arrow, eternally binding him to the man that seemed more God than mortal. 

And then, sapphire eyes bore into him and Toki could’ve sworn he had found his purpose, then and there. He found himself complete for the first time in his life, finally understood, finally seen. 

Toki smiled, an unfamiliar joy flooding through his body. Pumping like the blood in his veins, spreading through every muscle and reaching his fingertips, bestowing them with magic. 

He never wanted it to end. He wanted to stay there, forever.

With him.

“Toki!” Skwisgaar yelled, waking him from his reverie. “Ams you listkenings?” His guitar was, as ever, resting on his lap.

“Oh!” Toki nodded frantically, almost on instinct. “Yeah, really goods!”

Skwisgaar crossed his arms over his chest, a deep frown marking his features. “I asked if you doughts it was goods enough to be turnsked into a songs.” 

“Oh…” Toki repeated, this time deflated as he looked down with shame. “Sorries…I gots distracteds.”

“No shits.” Skwisgaar gave him a judgemental stare as he fiddled with his guitar some more. After a few seconds, he let go of the strings. “Eugh, guess I gots my answers.” He laid his back against the couch, glaring at the ceiling with resentment. “Dildos.”

“What?” Toki got up from his couch to sit on his legs next to Skwisgaar. “No ways, it ams reallies good!”

Skwisgaar didn’t move,  only side-eyed Toki with disbelief. “You excpeckts me to believes dat, when you couldn’ts even pays attenskions while I was playings it?” 

“Because it gots me thinking about stuffs!” Toki said. “Goods stuff!” When Skwisgaar didn’t seem convinced, he added. “It gots me thinking abouts…us.” 

“Heugh.” Skwisgaar snorted. “Whats?”

Toki smiled. “Ours first meetings.” He clasped one of Skwisgaar’s hands between his, delighting in the way his expression contorted with flusteredness. They were a thing but Skwisgaar still wasn’t used to the physical affection part. “You weres soes amazing…” His fingers laced with Skwisgaar’s softly. “I probablies fells in love with yous back den.”

“Eugh.” Skwisgaar grimaced, feigning disgust even when Toki could clearly see his flushed cheeks. “Toki, dat ams so gays.” Awkwardly, he started fiddling with the guitar again, his blonde hair hiding his face.

Toki pulled away and settled in to watch him go. Amused by the reaction, he thought about how far away the days where he thought Skwisgaar was this sort of untouchable God were. 

Not that any of it made Toki love him any less.

Sorry it took me quite some time. My head is a mess and I hope my rambling make sense.

COLDFLASH

Coldflash suddenly walked into my life one day and just… never left. 

I heard that Arrowverse's shows were piles of burning shit, “never watch any of them”, “arrow started good but”, “the flash is soo dumb”. And I just shrugged and proceeded with my life. Until I stumbled on coldflash. I think it was a fic? Maybe a crossover because I rarely read unfamiliar fandoms. 

The next thing I remember was binge watching Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl and Legends. One can’t just watch one show, okay? I watched it all, cried for Len’s unfair ending and went to go through the whole ship tag xD (which I did. i may have started before i finished my catch up with the shows but who cares?)

Aside from my fixation, coldflash just works magic for me. It has everything I love about pairings. Chemistry? Check. Ability to work together? Check. Banter? Check. Same core values? Check. Age gap? Check. Sunshine and emotionally constipated? Check. “Leave him for his own good” vibes? Check. 

Coldflash suddenly became not just a ship. It became the ship. It became OTP. I was multishipper for most of my life and it was a strange new feeling. I tried to read other ships with Barry and my brain just went NOPE. Same with Len.

Now I’m more open to other ships with Barry but I can’t read fics with Len if he has no relationships with Barry. There must be something. There is always something. 

I don’t think I can voice better than this quote tbh:

"Barry and I are… complicated. As Cold and Flash, we're enemies. We don't pull our punches. Our battles are very real. We have caused one another some serious injuries in the past, and will likely do so again in the future. It’s part of the lives we lead and we both accept that. As Snart and Allen, we've teamed up a couple of times when there's a threat too big for either one of us alone." Snart hesitated a moment, slipping his hands into his pockets. "But as Len and Barry? There's no one I trust more to have my back. Not even Mick or Lisa. I'm the one he runs to when everything gets too much. He’s the one I go to when I need to not be me. We're more than friends, but we’ll never be lovers. I'd take a bullet for him. He'd kill for me. We're soulmates. Platonic soulmates, that is."

Platonic coldflash is always in the back of my mind. I can’t help it. I don’t think I want to. 

COLDWAVE

It’s interesting, I see how and why it’s working. But… I’m not into it. I love both Len and Mick and I like their partnership. I like how Len looks after Mick. That they have history together. But my stupid brain is like “oh, Len’s here, Mick’s here, where is Barry? Barry should come in right about now”. So yeah. I love it though when coldwave acts like a parental figures for Barry. I saw it once, I think? I would like to read more fics with this dynamic.

Won’t lie it took me some time to see how wonderful this ship can be. How much I can love their collective dynamic. How silly and joyful they can be written together. I’m always hesitant about reading ot3. I hate love triangles. And was afraid that ot3 will be about a love triangle until they resolve all their issues and meet on the same page. Yada yada. Surely there are fics like that out there, but I found much more great stories about ot3s just navigating their own relationships, learning how to communicate and being together without envy and jealousy among them. So coldflashwave is like a blessing to my stupid messy heart. It gives so much joy! And I still have a ship tag to go through 👀

(I am also doing this for Star Wars, BSG, and two of my other original ‘verses, if you’re interested in checking those out! One ship per canon. The fanfic ones will be posted to AO3 probably a day or two after they’re on tumblr. Master list of all fills can be found here.)

You don’t exactly blend in here, but you don’t stand out in the tavern quite as much as you do on the streets. There are others of your kin here, mostly drinking with their Captains and their crews. The young man who sold you your beer did raise an eyebrow at you being alone, but you just smiled at him, trying to appear Mysterious, and flipped him an extra coin (even though you don’t have many left; not after spending probably too much on Islander-style clothing so you wouldn’t bake yourself to death).

You're not sure whether it was the mystique of a navigator fresh from the North or the coin, but whichever it was, it did the trick. He laughed, and let you be.

You settle yourself in a corner to watch and wait. You’re…not really sure how this next part will work. Other navigators, those who had retired and come home, couldn’t describe it as more than…

Like the feeling of lightning about to strike. That push and pull of power in the air just before the sparks go off. Tension and release.

You’ll know.

You sit there for an hour, then another, get a second beer from the same young man and then--

You hear laughter over the noise of the crowd, and turn your head toward the sound, and then you see her.

She tosses her head back, gold jewelry glinting in the firelight. She’s young; and your heart freezes for a minute because what if she’s not a Captain yet; but you can feel the sparks dancing in her laughter, echoing sparks dancing under your skin.

Navigators tie themselves to Captains more than ships. That part has been drilled into your head for as long as you’ve known you would be coming South to find one.

This is your Captain.

You memorize her face, everything you can see of her clothing and jewelry; the other woman standing just behind her. All the details you can see in the dim light, enough to let you find her ship in the morning. It wouldn’t be right, to approach her here. You’re not sure how you know that, but you know.

You finish your beer and slip out, as surreptitiously as you can--it helps that the bar is crowded now; even when you catch someone’s eye, which you do, no one really looks twice--to ask the right questions and find your ship.

Tomorrow, your life will truly begin.

Dallu stands at your side, the way he has day (and night) for all the five years since he came to join you.

“It’s war,” you say. He’s the first person you tell--you haven’t even told Kes yet, and she’s your second. “Official now.”

He nods. “You know what I can do for you.”

“Yeah.” There are rules, about battle magic. You’re not sure what all of them are, but you know he has them, and you know they’re there for a reason. You’ve thought about it--especially since you’ve seen this coming since you started making your little raids upriver all those months ago.

Because, sure, Dallu’s a decent hand with a knife, and a hell of a shot with a bow or crossbow when needed. And you know, better than most, that calling lightning when an arrow would do--just like sending a Great Lady when a Little Brother could do the job--might cause more problems than it solved. If it even solved the problem you were there for in the first place.

But he’s yours, and you worry. And it’s real, open war now. Which means things have changed.

“Hey,” he says, and his fingers find yours on the railing.

You smile, and lean over to kiss him. “I know,” you say, when you pull away. “We’ll see it through. We always do, yeah?” He’s still with you. Til the end. And you’ll keep him safe, with or without his lightning. Til the end.

“Damn right we do.” He kisses you again. “Time to tell the others?”

“Yeah,” you say. You squeeze his hand, then pull away. Time to be Captain; time to find Kes and get the crew together and tell them that even though everything’s changed…

Well. Some things haven’t. You still have each other.

Now you just have a godsdamned war to fight.

You stand together on the deck of a little ship, well-stocked with all the provisions you need for the long trip North. Just the two of you. A sort of wedding trip, a sort of honeymoon.

Or a way to make sure you won’t drive each other totally mad without other people around as a buffer, but you don’t think that’s likely.

It wasn’t an easy decision, not for either of you. Because for both of you, now, in a way, it’s going home and leaving home, all at once.

But it’s the right decision. You both know that, as sure as you know you want to spend the rest of your lives together. After the war, after everything you’ve seen, everything you’ve lost…you’re ready for it. Even if it means leaving the Islands behind.

The one thing is, you wish Kes had been on the beach to say goodbye, but you’re not…it’s not a surprise, exactly, that she stayed away. A lot of things had been said, during that fight, after that last battle weeks ago. Some deserved, some not. You don’t really blame her for still being angry.

”She’ll probably write us in a year or so.”

”Maybe, maybe not. You know how stubborn she is.”

”Or you could write her.”

”Yeah, she ain’t the only stubborn one. Besides, if she hasn’t…if she ain’t ready to forgive me, I’m not gonna push. You know?”

Time will solve that problem, one way or another. You hope.

And now, it seems, you have all the time in the world.

Your hands find each other on the railing, and one of you leans in first, the other only half a heartbeat behind, for a long, lingering kiss.

The Islands are just a faint greenish smudge on the horizon by the time you break away.

“Ready?”

“Ready.”

You pull apart, to your different duties, ready to ride the waves and guide the weather and carry yourselves, together, into the future.

Background

Born into his Prince hood Rhett trained almost every waking hour for the Coilltean ann an cunnart Co-fharpais, this is a trial all Ingarions have to do at a certain age for Rhett this trial caused his people to find out that their enemy had returned. Kraat their sworn enemy came rushing in during the trial and injured the Prince this is how Rhett got his bodyguard/helper Ace Valentino.

Ace put all his effort into helping Rhett be ready for this trial...and yet he felt like he failed Rhett when the Kraat returned.

How did he end up in our reality?

23. Who's more likely to convince the other to stay in bed come morning?

I want to say Solas BUT I actually think that Solas wouldn’t be the “sit in bed and cuddle” type. I think comfort for him is more a means to an end, it’s required for sleep, but he doesn’t think to enjoy it beyond that.

I think it would have to be Ruwth who suggests staying in bed just to… be together for a little while. Spend some time, relaxing, enjoying the warmth of each other. I think Solas would’ve hated waking up, but not then, not when she was beside him.

39. Who would rescue an injured animal and nurse it back to health? What would the other think?

Okay thing is. I think they are both equally as likely to rescue an injured animal, I don’t see either of them turning away an injured animal.

Ruwth I think is most likely to heal it and let it be, Solas though, I get the feeling he’s a bit more hands on. He’ll actually approach it, touch it with more than just magic. I’m imagining them finding a halla, shot with a human’s arrow, and Ruwth initially going to heal her on her own, but she’s panicked. Terrified. Ruwth can’t get close. Until Solas comes up and begins speaking to her, ancient elven in a gentle voice. It calms the animal, and Ruwth is able to heal her, while Solas holds her head in his lap

Once Upon A Time Rewatch: 7x14 The Girl in the Tower

Wahoo! It’s my favourite episode of s7! I remember being so excited for this one to come out. 

And I love that this is the 14th episode of the season and is about a tower like ‘3x14 The Tower’, which is probably my favourite episode of S3.

Poor Alice only has her toys to talk to. And that’s been the case for around 7 years. Must have felt so isolating. She’s such an optimist though.

The fact that she has the characters from Alice and Wonderland at her party makes me feel more certain about my theory that Wonderland II was a place she would mentally go to to escape the tower and due to her wish magic it became real. So, in other words, I think she created that realm.

She must have been so terrified when the tower started to shake because she has absolutely no escape. If the tower collapsed she’d still be trapped inside.No wonder Killian was so devastated when he learned the tower was in ruins.

Oh okay. Alice got out the tower years ago. I’m gonna say two years, because, like I’ve said before, the older you make Alice when working out the timeline, the older you make Ella. She’s like 14 years older and if you add too many years it starts to become implausible that Ella could be that old.

The New Enchanted Forest really needed a name of it’s own. I think they call it the ‘Magical Forest’ in the introduction to the season but it needed a more official name like Misthaven.

Tilly must have literally just past Ivy as she left Henry’s apartment! They’re ex-girlfriends and you can’t take that away from me! Just one interaction is all I ask! Why couldn’t we have got one interaction with them?! They were so so close! That was the perfect opportunity!

I believe the troll’s behaviour reflects how Alice is feeling inside. She’s keeping all her emotions about being trapped for so many years and feeling incredibly lonely buried deep inside until finally she breaks down at the tower with Robin.

Having your mind feel like 2 jigsaw puzzles in one box sounds terrifying like it’d make everything so confusing. It sounds almost like being in a dream and nothing makes sense but while your there it somehow does, except she’s awake.

I’ve never found any hair clippings in my bag but I’ve had bad autistic meltdowns where I can’t remember what happened afterwards. Then I’ll find out and be like, “Jesus Christ. Wtf me?!” It’s terrifying.

I’m glad Robin realised that protecting people who need it is more important than seeking glory.

It makes you stop and think about the psychological and emotional effects Alice’s situation would have on her. It’s heartbreaking!
