it started with an innocent suggestion. “babe, let’s try this tiktok trend,” she said, holding up her phone as she settled onto the couch.

matt raised an eyebrow, clearly skeptical. “what trend?”

“you know, the ‘we listen and we don’t judge’ one. people tell their unhinged stories, and we just… don’t judge.”

he smirked, leaning back with his arm lazily draped around her shoulders. “you’re gonna judge them. you’re the queen of side-eye.” “i will not,” she said indignantly, though the hint of a smile gave her away. “come on, it’ll be fun!” “fine.” he adjusted his hoodie and nodded. “but if this gets outta pocket, don’t look at me like it’s my fault.”

she clicked record, grinning at the camera. “okay, so we’re doing the ‘we listen, we don’t judge’ challenge. i have a bunch of these to say. ready?”

“born ready,” he replied, though the confused glint in his eyes suggested otherwise.

she took a deep breath and said aloud “‘i used to fake passing out during pe class so i didn’t have to run laps. one time, they called an ambulance, and i had to pretend to wake up ‘confused’ just to keep the lie going.’”

he blinked at her, then let out a sharp laugh. “nah, that’s crazy. you’re telling me they had the whole ambulance rolling up, lights flashing, for fake fainting?!”

“babeeeeee! we’re not judging!” she scolded, though she was giggling too.

“i’m not judging—i’m… i’m admiring. yeah. that’s commitment. but also, imagine having to keep that up for the rest of the semester.” he mimicked a dazed expression. “‘oh no, i can’t run laps. what if i pass out again?’”

she shoved his shoulder playfully. “stop. your turn”

“okay so one time in high school this girl won’t stop asking me out, so to avoid her i pretended to be nick.” she blinked, shocked at this revealed fact. “…woah?” matt laughed at her stated and gestured her to continue.

“fine so you remember your favourite hoodie that ‘got lost’? yeah well it’s lying in my cupboard right now and i use it whenever i miss you.” she said innocently. matt gasped loudly, “you thief! but it’s kinda sweet actually.”

“moving forward, i became obsessed with your skincare products after you did my skincare once.” he confessed. she let out a huge dramatic gasp hearing this. “so this is the reason i keep running out of the products!”

“hey no judgement.”

“urg so i keep on raiding your secret chocolate sash and blame it on chris every time you ask me” before he could even react and loud “what” was heard behind the camera from the youngest brother. the video cut to next scene where matt sided eyed his girlfriend before he said the last confession of the challenge.

“i download your voicemails and listen to them when i—”

before he could finish the sentence, a flying pillow was thrown his way cutting off the inappropriate thing he was about to say.

“mattew there are children on the app” she gasped. “you said no judging” matt said, faking confusion.

“that was before you broke the rules of decency.” was the last thing the camera could capture.

How I feel about this character

He is my sassy little son and I love him so much!

He has opinions and he is not afraid to let people know about them.

He read his brother for filth right from the beginning, took absolutely no shit from Lomfon when he was being a sulky, annoying pest,and was the #1 hype man for Patts and Tai’s relationship. I don’t think he really needs any protection from me, I know that he can comfortably eviscerate his enemies without breaking a sweat, but I will be there for him at the end of the day, on the couch, with fluffy blankets and snacks and soda, so he can unwind and tell me all about how most people in his life are stupid, are making their stupidity his problem.

Listen. As much as I hated Lomfon and his stupid ass for the mess he made, I really believe that the Lomfon we saw in the finale is a good match for Saengtien. And I believe Tien is the right match for Lomfon because when that boy throws another tantrum, a whack from Tien is what will set him straight (heh) once again. So I only ship him with Lomfon and vice versa. Also, take a moment and send a prayer into the universe for a La Pluie sequel, please and thank you.

My non-romantic OTP for this character

I wish we had gotten to see more banter between Saengtien and his dad. They are both extremely perceptive and witty. I would love to be a fly on the wall when they have a gab session.

My unpopular opinion about this character

Saengtien is a very strong, level-headed, and complex character, and I feel like his maturity and ability to handle bullshit by himself was underplayed by the audience as the show went on. Him being quirky and high-energy and jumping up in excitement whenever he feels like it without a care in the world does not mean that he is immature. He does not need to be rescued, and he definitely does not need to be coddled. He’s been taking care of his self-absorbed elder brother for years while he refused to work through his soulmate bond issues, and he made sure Tai still kept in touch with his parents even while nursing a misplaced anger on their mother. Taking care of himself? Pfft. My son is fine. All he needs is considerate love and companionship, not pampering.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon

We only ever saw him have a really strong outburst of emotions when Tai was stuck on the mountain. The hurt on his face when he finally faced Lomfon after their fight in the rain was heartbreaking, yet measured. And when he returned home, he didn’t lash out at Tai. Instead he sat down with his brother and calmly talked it through. I like these original character choices for him, and I understand the character and thematic cohesion reasons behind it. But I still wish we’d seen him scream out in anger just once in the show. Has he ever gotten to express his frustration in his whole life without having to consider how it would affect the people in his life, and ultimately holding back? Based on what we saw on the show, I would safely bet no. And that hurts my soul.

Do you have any original characters for TWST?

(As a preface I do have another OC I ship with Chenya, Beau Rhodes, but… I haven’t done much with him besides conceptualizing him. Maybe I should do more since I don’t talk about it enough but TreyRid really really is my romantic canonxcanon TWST OTP and I love it desperately even if I never talk about it. I’ve also been fucking around lately with middle freak Ortho having a form he can use on the surface but ehhh that’s not really an OC thing.)

Ok here it is… The #yumeshit lore post. I actually wanna start getting into like the yume community on BlueSky or something because it has a lot more male yumes than tumb (or rather twit does but my main is a permalocked personal and they’re all slowly but surely jumping ship to BlueSky LMAO), so I might as well explain The Lore in detail. 

As a preface I spend a LOT more time thinking about them when they’re older, because 1) self actualization and 2) why would I EVER want to willingly think about being a teenager again. I literally describe high school as “a haze of undiagnosed mental illness, and also drama club”. no thanx. It’s just not like… too lore noteworthy vs the stuff that actually happens in canon lol.  Here’s what they look like as adults. I’ve mentioned working on a Shrouds piece that took 2 months I finally finished last week, and this is it:

also feel like I should say… Trix’s views on Rook don’t reflect mine LMAO. I have mixed feelings on Rook, but overall my feelings lean positive towards him. He’s a total freak and it’s funny as fuck and I love it. So if you like him don’t try to take the dynamic too personally, it’s the way it is for a laff more than anything.

Beatrice “Trixie” “Trix” Hart is a catch all self insert of mine; mostly for platonic yume. (She was made as a self insert assistant for Klavier Gavin, hence the name, and is also platonic with syl(gags) sylv(throws up in my mouth a little) Sylvain Jose Gautier. If you wanna know about those you can ask ig, I don’t have a ref for 3H Beatrice but I did draw AA Trixie when I came up with her.) She started out as a girl (and I still view her as such in those universes) but for TWST he’s specifically a guy because. Well. This game made me realize I was a transhet man and especially yume helped me sort that out along with being st4t exclusive LOL

Trix is a Pomefiore second year bnuuy beastman from the Shaftlands, Class C (same class as Azul and Jamil). It just kind of really conveniently worked out that my sonas usually have upright brown bnuuy years like the Snow White bunnies and I’m so artistic Pomefiore was the only dorm that makes sense LOL. His Book 7 cameo on Rook’s shelf…

He’s in Film Research Club, and is unique because he joined specifically for crew work, not acting. He’s very extroverted in club and with people he’s close to, but he can be surprisingly introverted when he’s not comfortable. (Ambivert moment). He specializes in practical magic with his sewing and art, and Hates PE. (He likes flying, though.)

His unique magic is My Sweet Heart, which lets him see memories and emotions from people if he grasps their right hand and puts his hand over their heart. 

Caycay is his Number One BFF. I don’t know how they met his first year, but it was basically an immediate click (#trans recognizes #trans. #real #recognizes #real.). Trix walks to class with him every morning, and they frequently go to cafe collabs on the weekend and after class, being sure to leave some of their food out of their magicam posts lest they earn the wrath of their wardens LMAO. If Trix needs someone, Caycay is There for him.

Him and Vil are also VERY close. During his first year, there was an incident that lead to him being roommates with Vil, despite her being a second year and him being first. Trix Really does not like to talk about it, and while Vil would be fine telling people, she doesn’t out of respect for him. She also appreciates someone around club that’s enthusiastic about crew work, and tends to let him lead costume and prop work.

It’s Very clear he has a huge crush on her and that she doesn’t reciprocate. Sometimes she might throw him a bone and give him a little extra praise though LMAO. They do have a very bad fight toward the end of Vil’s third year though, and they go years without talking after. 

His closeness with Vil leaves him some leverage for defending Epel. (#nonpassing recognizes #nonpassing. #real recognizes #real.) It’s mostly in vain, though, but Epel appreciates being looked out for a LOT. Especially because, despite how artistic and fashionable Trix is, his personality is MUCH more down to earth than other Pomefiore students. He’s the biggest advocate for Epel transferring to Savanaclaw his second year and someone who Epel confides a lot into.

Rook’s nickname for him is Monsieur Lapin (Floyd’s is Sea Bunny. Floyd doesn’t come up so I figure I might as well say it heh.). He hates Rook. He thinks Rook is a freak. Especially as a beastman he thinks Rook is super fucking weird. Rook loves Trix’s artwork and his personal journey with beauty and adores him a lot as his beloved underclassman. He knows Trix hates him. He doesn’t care. Trix hates him So Much.

He doesn’t know Ortho much minus the guy who sits next to Caycay’s companion pre Book 6, but once Ortho joins Film Research Trix gets attached REALLY fast. He’s always wanted a younger sibling so he dotes on Ortho constantly, and they rec each other anime and games all the time. (Trix gets him into Professor Layton and he LOVES it.) He learns… a lot about Idia and Ortho’s relationship through this.

Lilia also got asked to tutor him for history once because Trix can’t do homework For Shit and needs help finishing assignments despite his test scores. This backfires because they don’t get anything done ever, but most importantly for The Lore they trade socials and thus Trix is friends with Muscle Red and knows who he is.

Ok. Now the meat of it. The #yumeshit. 

I think it’s probably obvious, but Trix is a nonpassing trans guy. NRC being an all boys school makes him feel safer, but… when he’s not at NRC, even if it’s just in the foothill town, he girlmodes. Being misgendered hurts a lot less that way. (No this is not projecting. Just kidding it is. Please help me.)

As a way of getting respite from this, he VTubes as a magical boy with a voice changer. I don’t have a proper ref but his sona is like the best design I’ve ever done and I’m lowkey mad about it. Anyways. While his interests aren’t really a secret irl it’s always kind of surprising when someone that doesn’t know him finds out he’s into nerdy things, but he gets REALLY invested in the games he’s playing and he has A Lot of info and interpretations to share. And despite his bright design, he gets most excited from horror. He’s not a huge indie by any means but he has a solid following. 

And when Muscle Red sees there’s a well known horror game Gloomurai likes on the docket, well, he HAS to invite them to watch his friend with him! They’ve been telling him how their favorite speedrunner retired and they need someone new to watch, anyways. 

Idia’s very pensive at first, seeing such a bright and sparkly character playing Resident Evil 7, a horror game with a very disgusting atmosphere and themes to match. Probably going to overreact to everything and pretend to be super scared and upset to look cute for views. But he’s watching with Muscle Red, and he wouldn’t make her watch something cringey like that, would he…?

As the game starts up, he starts gushing about what an amazing atmosphere the game has. The entire thing is filthy, and that leads to an overwhelming feeling of dread and disgust- even moreso with the family. His eyes light up when he points out an early scene is referencing The Blair Witch Project.

When it comes to things outside of gameplay itself, he really knows his stuff. Despite how mad him dying for the hundredth time on an extremely easy stealth section makes her, it’s nice to see such a passionate horror otaku. She almost doesn’t mind it because she likes listening to him talk. (Almost.)

Idia starts watching him with Muscle Red regularly. She’s too shy to talk in chat, so she just gives a lot of questionably large donos when he does things. 

He gives a lot of half joking “thank you for funding my doll collection” responses at first, but then says Gloom should chat if they’re comfortable. He’d love to get to know someone who is giving him all this money, and they’re considered a legend in chat for it. She’s nervous (she has no idea why), but she does slowly start chatting and attaching messages to her donos. Soon, she’s a regular in the chat and community. 

So active, in fact, she finds herself with a dm asking for her discord one day. A message follows shortly after about how he appreciates her involvement and wants to get to know her better- now that she’s more talkative, he thinks she’s really funny. 

From there starts a quickly blooming online friendship. They talk whenever they get the chance, though he strictly has to go to bed early or he’ll get chewed out by his housewarden. (A female housewarden…? Is he even forced into the girl dorms at his school?) Idia’s never forthcoming with private info, though, and he seems pretty hesitant with how feminine he is irl to give much past vague detail, either. 

Meanwhile, Trix has to be incredibly careful when lights out and Rook makes the rounds with how late he’s staying up. He is the number one person Trix would rather Die than see his conversation history when confiscating his phone. Gloom’s rude but funny and he loves hearing about X Obscure Game Yaoi Ship. (Sometimes he becomes a casual fan of the series and ship in question- he has been commissioned a LOT to draw her Star Rogue OTP by her.) (He also gets converted to Luisley probably.)

Offline, though, Idia and Trix’s relationship is… awkward. One time during remedial gym lessons when both of them had to run laps in his first year, Trix started complaining about missing club and how he needed to fix his make up, and Idia, being Idia, made a really snide comment about it. Trix snapped at her, and while to him it was just having a bad day, Idia… never really recovered from it. 

In the next year her only exposure was daily convos that were way too peppy for so early in the morning with the extrovert that sat next to her. (I’ve always hced Idia and Caycay sit next to each other in class and straight up forget this isn’t actually canon on a regular basis.) At some point, he started taking curious glances at Idia, which didn’t help at all.

Trix starts getting suspicions about Idia from the few times he does hear her talk, and how similar it sounds. Has he met her before…? But surely he would remember knowing someone as distinctive as Idia, right? 

He has absolutely zero involvement in Book 6 also. With everything going on (because their vice warden ROOK LITERALLY LEFT WITH NO WARNING OR BACKUP PLAN, BECAUSE OF COURSE HE DID, HE IS THE WORST PERSON ALIVE WHO HAS EVER BEEN BORN), him and his roommate end up being the ones to take charge and keep Pomefiore in order. I feel like with Idia yumes in particular Book 6 is a Big Thing because like, Book 6, so I feel like this is important info.

(He IS in Book 7 though. His dream is in between Epel and Rook’s. It’s about being amab :’( He doesn’t take waking up and being back in his actual body well.)

Her and Ortho coming back clear any doubts in his mind: Gloom suddenly leaving on the night of the incident, with zero word since, only to long back on with a “sry, irl stuff happened,” the day after the Shrouds come back? She’s Gloom. Especially getting to know Ortho in club and listening to him talk about her, there is literally no other option. 

He was planning on confronting her about it… then Book 7 happened. Obviously how it ends could change this, but for now once everything’s settled Idia gets a discord notif saying he has to talk to her, and he wants to in person. She tries to say it would be too hard to arrange, only to get a simple response: “Ignihyde Lounge. One hour. You’ll know when you see me.”

She is, unsurprisingly, horrified. How did he figure out? Does he hate her now that he knows she’s a freak? Is he coming to tell her how he can’t believe he befriended someone so pathetic? He’s going to tell everyone all the things she said in confidence. “Lol, you guys thought Shroud was a freak before? Get a load of this!”

Luckily, Trix told Ortho about it. He’s able to coax Idia out and helps her to the dorm lounge, holding her hand along the way. 

And indeed, the one Pomefiore uniform in Ignihyde’s dorm lounge sticks out like a sore thumb. Her heart rate explodes. He’s who she’s been talking to this entire time?! No. No. Absolutely no way. She’s not doing this. She tries to turn and run away, but her brother’s death grip (why did she give him all that strength?) keeps her in place.

He looks around awkwardly as he walks up. “Hey, uh… sorry about that time I snapped at you. Ortho told me it really freaked you out.” Trying to calm her down would hopefully make this easier.. “Do… you want to go somewhere more private? You’re even paler than normal.”

Yes. I do. Alone. And I want to forget this even happened. Unfortunately for her, the look on her bother’s face told her it was a mandatory quest. Defeated, she leads him back to her room. 

He sits uncomfortably stiff on her bed. Idia hides in her chair, turned away from him. He tells her that he doesn’t hate her, that he doesn’t think she’s pathetic. No response. Luckily, he invited Ortho for backup. 

“He really wants to be your friend, Idia! He’s the still same person you’ve been talking to online. And he’s really nice. He’s the one who recommended those games to me!”

Taking a cue on how exhausted she is mentally, Trix gets up and walks to the door. “Just… think about it, okay?”

Think about what? The fact that this person she got close to was actually a loud extrovert who hung around a bunch of normies? That he knows all of the rumors about her? Forget real life- he could go online and tell everyone what a freak Gloomurai was irl, too. 

They don’t talk anywhere for like a week and Trix doesn’t walk to class with Caycay, but then they do talk it out. It’s really hard and REALLY scary for Idia, but she’s able to accept him into her life as a friend. He ends up being a really big pillar of stability for her, and he already knows about her own transness and boymoding which makes him even safer.

And… that’s how they are to the end of her third year! Friends. And really, not looking for anything past that. 

Idia gets a really REALLY nice condo in the Kingdom of Heroes for her internship. (Which she mostly even only uses the upper half of. Smfh) She also gets two cats; a white one, Clear, and a gray one, Ryoji. I’m sure you can guess who they’re named after. Reminder that Idia is canonically a fujoshi. Anyways.

Trix visits during school breaks with Ortho… he also stays in Ortho’s room with him while he’s there. For the most part it’s a lot of just comfy stuff like gaming and watching movies, Ortho taking Trix out to see things and such. Over Winter break while visiting Trix edits one of the Film Research pieces for the culture fair bc he’s club president now… By the time of said fair with 4th years presentations it’s very obvious to like Everyone how they feel. (And they probably know it themselves but try to ignore it because neither feels ready for a relationship).

A really REALLY big point worth noting during this time period (and this is all I’ll say bc I know it’s a difficult topic) is that they see each others cutting scars for the first time. They never really comment on or talk about it, but there’s a wordless understanding and comfort between them afterwards. 

Idia’s staying on the surface for at least a few years to see if researching with Olympos resources can give any new perspectives on blot or her curse. If Trix wants to stay for his internship, there’s plenty of room. She doesn’t admit it, but she really wants him to stay. Unfortunately, though, he’s always been interested in the Queendom of Roses and opts for an editing internship with a publisher there.

It’s more of the same; he visits her more regularly because he’s not limited to NRC’s schedule, and he still streams and she still watches and talks to him. He also adopts Chunky who LIVES FOREVER AND NEVER DIES, EVER. There’s an undeniable closeness between them but neither are still ready to actually act, even if it’s clear they may as well already be together lol. 

During this time she also starts getting him transformation potions to help with dysphoria from STYX while he transitions.

After his internship, he’s able to get a job at the Kingdom of Heroes office of the publisher he interned for. He may or may not have chosen to transfer on purpose- there’s plenty of space there, anyways, so much so he can have his own room big enough to both sleep and work in. Ortho’s out on his own acting internship with Vil’s agency, so for the most part it’s just them and their cats in this huge place lmao. It’s really easy to coexist because there’s space when they need it and Idia’s like entire gamer zone on the upper level when they wanna do stuff together. It works out really well.

There are a whole bunch of headcanons of mine about STYX and the Shrouds and their relationships that I’m not really comfortable going into. However, when they overblotted together, Idia and Ortho did something… really traumatic unrelated to Middle Freak Ortho’s death that Idia blames herself for. She still has regular nightmares about it, and while Trix usually isn’t around from the breakdowns because he’s in his room when they happen, this time he fell asleep upstairs and heard all of it.

He goes in to check on her, and she’s really closed off. He’s eventually able to get her to tell him what happened and her guilt, but… He already knew. Ortho told him years ago when they were all still at NRC. He was waiting for her to tell him on her own terms.

Idia does uhh not take this being hidden from her well! He rationalizes that knowing it and never judging her and standing by her side this entire time means he truly does care and doesn’t blame her. He holds her hand and for the first time says it:

“I love you.”

Idia looks at him wide eyed for a second before turning away.

“You need to leave.”

He’s allowed to stay- she’s not going to just throw him on the street- but he is not allowed upstairs near her. She needs time to process everything. Especially how he hurt her trust. 

Eventually they are able to talk it out though and end up in a relationship. YIPEE!!!!!! Ortho moves in permanently around this time with his internship over with his 2 dogs to add to the family. :)

There’s a lot of stuff with STYX and Woe I haven’t fuuuuuully sorted out the details of, but Idia does eventually have to go back for a while to put her research to use and put an end to things. I think this period is really tough because she does Not want Trix to see what a horrible place it is and how it’s the source of so many awful things it was so she tries to leave him. She doesn’t obv and she’s able to successfully find a solution to the Phantom problem.

Once she’s back, though, she does have a near immediate breakdown- with it all over, her brain can actually like. Process what her life was up to that point and she just kind of snaps. She ends up hospitalized for a few months to keep her safe from a HORRIFIC schizophrenic break. Trix uses STYX Bux for a place to stay so he can visit her near daily and help her through it. There’s also a REALLY bad incident with Ortho.

Minus that though from there it’s… really just them being happy, healing, and transitioning with each other. Idia becomes an indie game dev and Trix becomes a horror writer. He still streams (she started vtubing somewhere along the way too), but they’ve never publicly posted about their relationship. It’s really funny because it’s like blatant but they just try to act like it isn’t LMAO.

As they get older, they move to a small, quiet place in the Queendom of Roses. They have 3 kids (who I also have ocs for but that’s WAY too cringe) who are very well loved. Ortho also lives with them and they have a very happy family. :)

TL;DR: Idia wins the VTuber Fuck A Fan contest.

Warnings -> Angst, Major Character Death

Authors Note -> BokuAka is my OTP, no one can top them. They are so adorable and I love them. They are also SOOO perfect for angst, I don't know why.

I looked around the table in the back corner of my hometown bar. Friends and family gathered around me in a bittersweet joy. A going-away party. A party that's supposed to be fun, but turns out depressing and miserable. But with my friends, nothing can ever be boring.

Insisting we have it at our bar, Kuroo gathered all of our high school friends, all of my coworkers, and all of my family, into one tiny section. Cheers and beers went round and round the small rectangular table, as well as through the bar, from strangers who over heard.

After about two hours, I left. Calling an Uber, with no destination in mind, I thought about all the times Kuroo and I walked out of this bar, absolutely wasted, trying to find our ways back home. I sometimes wish I could go back, but what would change? I'd still be where I am now.

The notification popped up on my phone, signaling that I had another customer. At the bar, my back seat door opened and a man sat down. His cheeks were a rosy red, his golden eyes were teary, and his hair was two-toned and messy. Despite all of that, he was one of the most handsome men I've seen in this tiny town.

"Where are you going sir?"

"Would it be okay if we just drove around? With the windows down? It's a nice night and I'm not ready to be alone just yet."

"That's fine with me."

Akaashi started pulling away and Bokuto rolled the windows down, eager to breathe in the night and forget his destiny.  Arms were seen outside the window as Bokuto became an airplane, flying on the adrenaline and sorrow.  To passerby's Bokuto was drunk and having fun, but Akaashi could see.  He saw the way his body tensed up ever so slightly every time they hit a bump, or the way his eyes always had a tear or two threatening to fall.

"Hey man, I know we don't know each other but, is there anything you want to say?"

Bokuto brought his arms back in and slowly smiled.  It wasn't a smile of joy, but a smile of pain.  The kind of smile one gives when they're trying to convince themselves they'll be okay.

"Have you ever thought about dying?  Or what life is like after you die? Cause I know I do.

"Unfortunately I can say that I have.  Why do you ask?  What's going on?  What's Up?"

"I was diagnosed with brain cancer last week.  They said it's too late to have chemo or even get it treated.  I'm-  Im dying and I'm okay with that."

Akaashi's eyes filled with tears.  His vision became blurry and it got to the point of him having to pull over.

"I was at a going away party with my friends at the bar.  I told them I'm moving away for a job opportunity.  I didn't have the courage to tell them the place was Heaven.

Truth is, I'm a little scared.  Not for myself, but for them.  I wasn't drinking, and I know they sensed something was wrong, but I hope they just thought I was sad about leaving.

That's why I asked you to drive around.  I'm better around people, even if they're strangers.  When I'm by myself I feel lonely and sad.  I don't like feeling like that."

Akaashi was stunned.  At the end of each ride, he asked people if there was something they needed to get off their chest, and he's heard some things.  But nothing- nothing compared to this.

"I'm sorry man.  I didn't mean to go so into detail, but I think this is the happiest I've been since my diagnosis.  The way the night feels on my lungs and skin is breathtaking and the town tonight has such a heavenly glow."

"I agree.  Although it's small, this town really does affect you in the most beautiful ways."

"I know we won't ever see each other after this. but thank you.  Thank you for listening and indulging with me.  It means a lot coming from a stranger, and I really hope it doesn't have to do with the fact that I have cancer.  Even though I'm dying, I'd much rather people be blunt with me, and not beat around the bush."

"You're welcome.  I will let you know, it's not the cancer.  You are a very likable person, and I'll tell you, that you are a very pretty crier.  Your eyes shine like diamonds when you cry, and I find it mesmerizing."

"'Thank you- "

"Keiji.  Akaashi Keiji."

"Kotarou.  Bokuto Kotarou.  Thank you Keiji."

"You're welcome Kotarou.  I'll take you home now.  Just know your not alone.  Not ever."

Keiji sat, dressed in all black, underneath an umbrella, and cried.  He hasn't known Kotarou at all, but that one might in his car, left such an impact, and Keiji couldn't believe a man like him was gone.  Not two months after they're fateful encounter, Keiji read on the paper that the beloved volleyball player passed away.  They never stated the reason, probably to protect the public from such a sorrowful thing, but Keiji knew.  Keiji remembered how miserable Kotarou felt in his back seat.  He remembered how much it hurt to hear Kotarou's voice crack and see his body tense.  He remembered, despite his horrible odds, how Kotarou looked genuinely happy with his arms out the winter smelling the city. 

It was a cruel fate.  A horrible way to go, and with the way it hurt him, he can't imagine how the family felt. 

"I'm so incredibly sorry for your loss.  I hadn't known Bokuto at all, but I was his Uber driver the night of his "going-away party.  I wanted you guys to know, that he was okay with dying.  He said it himself.  and I want you guys to know, he enjoyed himself that night.  And I want you guys to remember that.  Please, for him."

why sk8rclown (pilby x infected) is OTP 💥💥

Sooo you read the title, so you know what this post is gonna be about!

P.S this is MY personal opinion and if you ship anything else that’s fine! But for the 0.5 percent of ppl who are here for the rare pair I present to you the ultimate explanation on why this ship works so so well

without further ado let’s discuss why the non-bi pan cattipillar and the emo chic dude form the 2010’s would totally kiss!

Ok first of all; what is their dynamic and why does it work so well?

well that actually depends on how you see them, but in general, I think their base dynamic is the scared and soft introvert x outgoing extrovert, as clearly seen by their dialogue and personality documented in the wiki, it’s clear that this dynamic seems to fit best.

It even shows in their limited interactions with one another, yes, I know there’s only technically 3 interactions so far (subject to change in the future) BUT even then you can clearly see the chemistry that bounces off.

This and the other dynamic being old fashioned x high tech of some sorts, example:

Infected: "I c4nT wA1t tO r41Se My Fi5HinG Stat5!! B)"

"Golly.. fishing.. stat?

"That sounds confusing.."

Infected: "Th4t5 My aw3sOM3 Vid30 g4mE!!"

Infected: "I'm TrY1nG to G3t a G0lD3n TenCH!!"

"All those video games and whatnot has got me so confused.."

On top of that, their mindset is actually quite parallel with each other; infected is stuck in the 2010’s, while Pilby is stuck in their old fashioned ways (idk what time era though help)

plus, infected seems like the type of guy to really have a deep care for the ones he loves, with words of affirmation and physical presents and whatnot, and pilby, being a guy with little self esteem and belittles themselves, while also showing comfort in reassuring words, would definitely either get flustered at infecteds compliments or crash like a windows explorers page and go💥💥💥 /hj plus, I’d like to think that he’d get pilby flowers (despite his allergy) just to please them and see them smile super brightly (although pilby would immediately stare in horror at infecteds puffed up face (allergies ammiright)/jjjj

And then there’s my interpretations, obviously this ain’t gonna apply for everyone but I personally believe that infected is the type to show the most affection and also be the caring type while pilby is the two stud tall guy who is a nervous wreck and shrivels at the mention of going out to a party, LOL, ok but no seriously soft caring extrovert and scared little rat dynamic save me save me dynamic.

I think the reason why pilby x infected always stuck out to me is just the thought of it, like wow! A 2010s emo chick and a clown! Sounds like something random but trust me, it works, think of it like the emo and bright pink chic dynamic, just with a few tweaks.

this and also my interpretations of the characters (Alr explained in the previous section) it’s just such a unique take, and I’m a fucking sucker for unique ship types.

heck even their designs actually compliment each other, pilby is soft and round, and infected is bright and bold.

Anyways, more ramblings uhm, I feel like infected, despite being the caring one, would also be reckless, often time getting into scuffs, which worries pilby and brings out his more firm and true side, like a wife having to deal with their husbands shenanigans. I feel like because of that pilby can take the opportunity to show their more truer side, the side that’s not always sad and sighing about their mama, the side that is happy for the little things in life and always takes the time to admire the surroundings, something that infected takes for granted sometimes due to their hyperactive and fast nature, and that alone, would teach infected to slow down as well, to take in the scenery around him sometimes, the warm sun, the falling leaves, the chirps of the birds, flying high into the clouds, setting off on an adventure, it’s the little things that count the most.

and in return, pilby would learn that not everything is all rainy clouds, that they sometimes does need a few push’s outside of their comfort zone to enjoy a few things. Maybe a little skating wouldn’t hurt (or will, depends if pilby falls when infected let’s them go) or saying hi to split every once in a while can actually lead to some funny conversations and thereafter, thoughtful moments to cherish for years to come possibly.

it’s an effect, they rub off each other, they stuck together and learned new things about and for their life, even if it’s little or silly, it’s worth everything to them, and it’s worth it because they have each other. When pilby is with infected, there’s nothing to worry, and when infected is with pilby, he can relax for once and actually chill, seeing the comfort of being simplistic.

And I think that’s fucking beautiful, I think that’s what struck me hard for this ship, it’s so loving and touching ai feel like I could cry just writing this. It’s truly the deep realizations that make these types of silly posts worth writing.

February OTP Drawing Challenge : Day One - First Date

“Soundwave you will meet me outside in three groons do you understand?” Megatron’s voice caught his TIC off guard as Soundwave had been quite engrossed in his work. When the mech turned to face his leader he almost smiled at how stiff his superior was. About two weeks prior Soundwave received the request of a lifetime, Lord Megatron had asked is Soundwave was comfortable with his lord courting him. Of course, Soundwave had accepted. He had not quite had a name for the way he felt towards the tank mech, at first he thought it was admiration, or loyalty. But after that Soundwave figured out that it was love. The since then Megatron had spent far more time and talked far more with his TIC. They would spend breaks together and even share energon. Soundwave quickly shoved these thoughts aside and spoke a short, “Affirmative.” To their plans. In frount of anyone else, especially on the bridge, they had to remain strictly professional. Though than again the closest they got on being nonprofessional if frount of each other was genuine laughter. Honesty, Soundwave was extremely excited for the meet up, or as humans would call it, date. Neither of them had ever had a partner, so the inexperience was mutual.

That night was a lovely temperature for flying. So Soundwave was in a good mood when he met his lord on a cliff ledge near where the Nemesis was docked. Soundwave hadn’t really expected anything so being treated by a checkered tarp and a few cubes of high grade was shocking. He look to his lord who stood at the side, he was sheepishly fidgeting with his hands the were tucked behind his back. Though Megatron’s leadership and passion were enchanting, Soundwave truly fell for the Megatronus obsessed, awkward and playful bot underneath. D-16 may not be around anymore but those charming element stayed and the blue mech fell head first for it the first time Megatron had let his guard down and spoken about his hero for two straight groons. Soundwave hadn’t loved every second of it. “What do you think?” Megatron looked up with a false stern glare to see what reaction he would receive. Soundwave simply walked forward and took his lords hands in his, “Setup: Tolerable.” Megatron snorted hard a places a hand on his forehead, “and I thought you would be easy to please.” Soundwave shook his head ruefully, “Soundwave: Pleased by Lord Megatron’s presence.” With that a soft smile dance across the tank mechs lips, “I thought I told you to drop the ‘lord’ when we are together?” They both turned to face the tarp and settled down atop it. High grade was not easy to get which made Soundwave feel very warm inside. They sat in calm silence as they sipped their drinks. Finale, Megatron spoke, “one day Soundwave,” he reached for the moon with one hand, “this war will be over and I will give you Cybertron to rule over at my side.” His smile was filled with ambition, promise and love. Soundwave slowly leaned on Megatron’s shoulder, “Soundwave: will give his Megatron that victory.”

That night was one that both would always remember.

•What's the origin of your blogs title?

Zalia is a name I have been using since like... 2000? It was a misspelling of the name of a very minor character in an obscure Australian sci-fi/fantasy book series XD Hitsuzen is... well, I like CLAMP manga and was reading XXXHolic at the same and had no better ideas. "Nothing in this world is a coincidence. Everything is Hitsuzen." It means inevitability/destiny/fate - A state in which all other outcomes are impossible.

•Favorite fandoms

Currently I am deep in Destiny fandom! You... might have noticed. Previous fandoms include The Magnus Archives, Rusty Quill Gaming, Red vs Blue, Zombies, Run!, and all the way back to Gundam Wing when I was in high school XD I've dabbled with other things over the years but these are some of the main ones.

•OTPs+Ship name

I have always been a multi-shipper. I tend to pick one character I love and they become my little black dress - goes with everything XD In Destiny fandom, that character is Osiris (I know you are shocked). I love Saint/Osiris (obviously) which is known as O14. I also love Shaxx/Saint/Osiris, Felwinter/Osiris, and have a soft spot in my heart for Drifter/Osiris messy early days at the Iron Temple fling. I am also just very invested in the Greater Last City Polycule.

•Favourite colours Purple! My bedroom is various shades of purple and I love it!

•Favourite game

Presently Destiny 2 and/or ARK Evolution Evolved

•Weirdest habit/trait

Uh... I don't know, I'm boring. Currently breaking into places I should not be in Destiny? (This is not a 'in Minecraft' joke, this is genuinely me fucking around in the game).

Writing, playing video games, sometimes making games, going Out of Bounds in Destiny, walking.

•Something you're good at

My job. I'm a damn good panel moderator when I do conventions. I'm a good public speaker (10+ years of drama clssses will do that for you - one of the most valuable things I have ever done because it means I don't get stage fright, can sight read, and can project my voice well). I'm pretty decent at baking and decorating cakes!

•Something you're bad at

Adulting generally. Meal boxes are a godsend otherwise I would just live on plain pasta out of lack of ideas and interest.

Sparrow flying in D2 (I need more practice – I struggle to go up). It's been years since I studied Geology but I was incapable of measuring strike and dip of rocks using a compass. It just did not click in my head.

•Something you excel at

Writing! I have a Creative Writing MA and got selected for Viable Paradise which is a fairly competitive and respected sci-fi/fantasy writing workshop. I feel a bit guilty that I haven't really done anything to work towards getting published, but also the publishing industry is kind of a tyre fire, and I spent so many years struggling with ADHD making writing like pulling teeth that since I got medicated I've genuinely just been riding the wave of writing an insane amount of Destiny fanfic and having fun with it! I've had writing be approved without changes by someone who is insanely high up in Disney/Marvel and their approvals are *tough*, which I am gonna be proud of!

•Something you love

ADHD medication. Sleep. Writing and reading. My dog. My friends.

•Something you could talk about for hours without off the cuff

Destiny, lol. Hell I could ramble for hours about Osiris alone (and have! Many thanks to friends who have allowed me XD). Fandom and fandom history. Worldcon drama (god, the next business meeting is gonna be interesting... again, as will site selection).

•Something you hate

Gonna echo Mako here with 'fucking Nazis' and just gesture wildly at politics in general. And on a lighter note, not exactly hate, but I have strong feelings about the Destiny 'community' and the concept of 'loremasters' and 'content creators' and how it favours the shallowest readings of the text with the barest scraps of analysis. Actually I really fucking hate the term 'content creators'.

•Something you collect

Destiny merch recently – I have a lot of the rewards pins. I have a pretty hefty doujinshi collection from my anime days (a lot of it is packed into boxes that I need to get around to selling/giving away because it is taking up space). Like the rest of my family, I collect books. It is a problem. Between everyone in the house we have several thousand books which is probably more than the locak village library.

•Something you forget

Whether I have taken my ADHD medication or not – this usually happens about 5 seconds after I have taken my medication.

•What's your love language

IDK, writing smutty fic for people? I do genuinely like writing snippets of fic when bouncing ideas around with people. It's fun!

It has been so long since I watched anything uh... Babylon 5 is always gonna be a favourite TV series. Also Leverage. For movies - Lord of the Rings, Rocky Horror Picture Show, Labyrinth, Who Framed Roger Rabbit?

Ooooooh... A Place in the Choir - This is a Yuletide fic which has somehow stuck with me for over 10 years despite me having read it like... twice. It is a dark fantasy story based on The Fox by Ylvis. It is *fantastic*. Isochronism by @makoredeyes - absolutely heartbreakingly painful. Perfect use of a timeloop to inflict agony on Felwinter and just... it's such a gutpunch and masterfully delivered! A Memory of Ice by @gileonnen - Gil manages to say so much in so few words and I will lap it up. The implications here, the depth of emotion and intention from Osiris and Saint and gah... Wonderful!

Four Seasons Total Landscaping by @icescrabblerjerky - Zolf Smith runs a funeral parlour, Oscar Wilde runs a sex shop next door. A new neighbour moves in opening a landscaping service. The new neighbour is a smoky little beefcake XD

Probably too much to believe, too much to deny. That one is meeeean (and I love it)

I've written a lot of fics with happy endings, but I think you and i were fire, fire, fireworks is one of my favorites.

Sometimes, from annoying people who have no lives. luckily I do have a life and have very cool and sexy opinions about the boundary between fiction and reality, so it's always more entertaining than anything.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

All kinds! Fluffy, gory, noncon, the deadest of dead doves. I especially like writing stuff in pairings nobody's thought of yet.

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?

Sometimes--the craziest I've written is definitely give me something good to eat.

I've got a soft spot for Leo/Saki, my first major OTP...although I've written the biggest number of fics for Spider Soccoro/Miles Quaritch. And rn my obsession is definitely Marius de Romanus/Armand. I think I just generally really love shit with fucked-up dadson vibes, although I do also have a soft spot for sibling ships like turtlecest and Diazcest.

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

Honestly don't think there are any major fic WIPs I'm working on rn, although there is one Avatar series I really want to get back to when I have the hyperfixation again.

16. What are your writing strengths?

I'm really good with metaphors and stream of consciousness stuff; I can communicate a lot in a short space, although I can spool it out longer if I need to. I've been told I write some very good lines of dialogue and I'm good at coming up with fucked up Scenarios to put the blorbos in.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

I'm not good with chapter fics, since I lose interest quickly. I worry that my prose strays towards the purple and that the ideas I'm trying to explore get lost in the proverbial sauce. I'm better at writing random little scenes than setting them up more fully.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

I try to avoid it, it's better than subjecting anyone to Google Translate butchery.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

TMNT! Those little green bastards have done so much for me and introduced me to so many great people, holy shit.

Right now? probably i can walk between raindrops. i can be insensible. I really loved the chance to explore Paul and Louis's relationship and to build off a structure developed by an older writer in the VC fandom through a new lens.

I do like the idea of him with a heron or hawk laguz just because he's always wanted to fly and there's some symbolism to be had there, of the chronically ill beroc who's dreamed of freedom and finds love with someone who can take to the skies.

I also...I know him and Mia is actually a fandom favorite ship due to their supports, but I'd say it veers more into nOTP category for me. like maybe it'd work out in rp but just going off what I know, I don't like them. by the end of the support she's again pushing him to do more and not considering his health and it just doesn't sit right with me. mia feels too high energy for him imo

how i feel abt this character: i lauve rolan so super much!!!! out of the three of them i think abt him the least but thats just bc im obsessed w kian and also rand as a character just hits a little too close to home (eldest siblings when there is an eldest sibling in media 🙁😦) but like. the fact that theres no way of saying who the "real" rolan is. it is also slightly frightening the degree to which i can relate being changed into a Literal entirely new person by a traumatic event /system 😔

all the people i ship romantically w this character: kian & rand (sometimes separately w just kian but mostly all 3 together) (im not much of a keeperschampion guy bc i think its just a little too obvious. yk)

my non-romantic OTP for this character: honestly tho speaking of keeperschampion. those two. as best friends they are also deeply tragic

tips for playing mercy (as someone who has played her way too much

some terminology:

first off I’m assuming that whoever is reading this plays on computer and has default controls, sorry consol players but that’s not my area of expertise (although I’m sure the general tips will still be useful)

I will be referring to guardian angle as GA (the ability that allows you to fly around; its shift on the keyboard), GA + spacebar as SS or slingshot, since it slingshots you in whatever direction you look in when you press space, and GA + crtl (or whatever your crouch button is) as SJ or super jump, because whenever you press ctrl after using GA you do, well a super jump. Valkyrie (Q ability the one that allows you to fly around like you are in creative mode in Minecraft) will just be referred to as Valk, and Ressurction (e ability that brings people back to life) will just be called Res, I will call mercies staff her staff and her gun her gun (or Barbie blaster if I am going to attempt to be funny)

onto the actual tips LMAO

-never stop moving, even if you think you are safe, you are not safe, you are never safe and unfortunately your enemies do have braincells and will notice where you stay, and will come after you

-that being said; you don’t have to use GA as soon as it comes off of cooldown, if you are in a safe position, stay there until it’s clear it will become unsafe, although move back and forth obviously (unless it’s one of those spots where you really can’t move, although I would recommend not staying there for long)

-high grounds are your best friend, mercy is one of the most mobile agents in the game, half of your enemies are going to seriously struggle to reach you

-with the height and position advantage, you can typically see more than your teammates do, I recommend calling out or at least pinging where enemies are if you think it’s important

-“use GA not as positioning but to position” -absolutely Queen of mercies Skeisti, as fun as spamming SJ is, it leaves you in the enemies line of sight and makes you easy to kill if they can aim, literally the only time I would recommend spamming SJs is if you are using them to glide on a roof out of the enemies sight, but even then treat the position as temporary

-DAMAGE BOOST, healing nothing is useless, if you can use blue beam, do use blue beam, and don’t wait for your beam target to be 100% on hp, if you are waiting to heal your team to full to damage boost, you will never damage boost, besides your other support is there for a reason

-HOWEVER, you can’t damage boost a corpse so if your beam target reaches critical health (they will have like a red plus sign on them and be yellow through walls) HEAL THEM especially if your other support is dead/unable to reach them and there are no health packs in the area, or methods of self healing are on cooldown/unreliable in the situation

-speaking of your other support, pay attention to their health bar, them being dead is bad for everyone so as soon as they hit critical you need to switch your attention to them, they can heal your other teammates in the meantime

-if your other support is getting dove, beam them; doesn’t matter if it’s one person, doesn’t matter if that person is almost dead, if your support dies from this their is a 90% chance the fight is lost

-stop trying to save teammates that are beyond saving, your Doomfist diving headfirst into a 1 v 5 with 100 hp and a dream a million miles away from you is a goner, unless you have Valk you have to accept that

-speaking of accepting things, accept when a fight is lost and run away, the only ones who tell you there is shame in running away are your enemies who want you dead

-memorize healthpack locations and GA/SS to them if you are in danger, trust me this has saved me so many times

-learn how to play other supports, even top 500 mercy OTPs can play other ones, if you are inflexible the enemies will break you

-you can move when you are Resing, don’t stand still

-try and res behind cover; learning how to Jump Res really helps with this and can let you pull off some reses you really couldn’t before

-if you are doubting you can do a Res than probably don’t do it, it’s better to stay alive then get yourself and your Res target killed again, it’s a 30 second cooldown after all

-you do have a substantial amount of time to res a dead person depending on their respawn timer, so if your enemies are distracted and you know your team is ok without you for a few seconds, going to res a soul in your enemies back line and flying back isn’t a bad idea

-don’t waste Valk, even in the highest ranks, killing a mercy who knows what they are doing in Valk is incredibly difficult, it’s your get out of jail free card and use it when you know you have to or at least when you know it will be beneficial

-in Valk you can see the enemies health bars so don’t be afraid to pistol someone if you know you can kill them

-however, try not to go for kills in Valk in comp, battle mercy is fun however it’s not very good, infinite ammo can’t save her low projectile speed and damage (it’s only 40 per headshot), and it’s incredibly hard to kill people from war away, and getting up in their face to aim easier puts you at risk, so don’t treat Valk like an Ilari ultimate, a support who’s ultimate is designed to do damage because Valk isn’t designed to do damage

-don’t be afraid to damage boost your tanks: a tank using their ultimate, roadhog and rein in close combat and/or roadhog using hook, Ramattra using his punches and a high power Zarya are just as good damage boost targets as your dps

-speaking of dps, some damage dealers are better to boost than others, typically I would pick the ones that don’t have to go in and dive, as diving puts you in danger

There’s way more I could say, however there’s better and smarter mercy mains on YouTube so I recommend watching their stuff (like the aforementioned Skeisti and Elyzhau). Have fun mercying, and I hope this was moderately helpful
