10. Airport/Travel AU +  66. It’s Not You, It’s My Enemies with Jon Connington x Brynden Tully

Tired from a cheery yet loud family gathering Brynden brings his nice with her family to the airport. After they boarded, Brynden feels the strong urge for a vitalizing coffee. So he happens to sit next to a pretty redhead stranger in the airport’s bar. On a sofa of the bar area snores a young man with bue dyed hair. 

When the stanger sighs about “wild kids” under his breath, Brynden catches this small comment to caress it into a longer conversation. From idle small talk they quickly ramble about deeper topics, with Brynden casually but stretegically dropping hints of him falling apart with his brother due Brynden’s interest in men. First it seems the stranger wouldn’t notice. At last Brynden tells the stranger about a laid back future since his life is getting calmer. “That would be nice.” The stranger comments with in a wavering tone. “It can be nice.” Brynden hands him back.

The announcement for boarding to a log distance flight echoes through the airport. The young men scrapes himself from the sofa, the stranger smiles apologetically to Brynden. A bit dissapointed yet old enough to live with the taste of bitterness on his tongue, Brynden bids a short farewell. About to finish his now his too cold, therefore unenjoyable coffee, Brynden suddenly gets jerked back by a hand on his shoulder and kissed by the stranger. “I wish I could.” the stranger whispers into his hear. “Name’s Jon.”

For the last scene the perspective switches. Aegon knows when his guardian, father figure?, wants to be left alone, so they first don’t talk. But when the plane starts rising, Aegon quietly apologizes: “I’m sorry you’re doing all this just for me…” Jon first remains quiet,then huffs, and finally ruffles through Aegon’s hair.

Okay, so here we go, the following are my favourite gay ships, and a short exploration as to why and how I like the ship.

Wolfstar: 

Sirius Black/Remus Lupin

I really like Sirius Black and Remus Lupin, seperatly. But also together, because it’s just really fitting. In my head Remus is bi, and actually in love with Tonks later on, and Sirius is gay. Both weren’t really open about it, because homophobia, you know?

Deamus: 

Dean Thomas/Seamus Finnegan

Harry Potter

To be honest, this is really awesome. First time I read the book my mind just went there, that Dean and Seamus actually are a couple. This only happened after reading the fourth or fifth book, but I was still pretty young, and honestly, this is probably the ship I’ve followed for the longest time, and still one of my favourites. I will talk mora about them some later posts.

I know the fandom is sometimes said to be toxic, and I think some people actually are. They were angry at actors, and although many actors of the show have not been awesome, that doesn’t justify hating them, so please don’t? I still think Kara Danvers and Lena Luthor have great chemistry, and I am a little sad, because this might actually be queerbaiting, because of the way the shots are taken etc. But I am not an expert, so I won’t comment on that. It probably won’t happen though.

I just really love this show, and I will only list this ship here, even though I have a lot of people I really love, and I might actually just talk about one character of them. And although I also shipped Nyssara (Nyssa and Sara) I really love Avalance.

Okay, for clarification, all of these will be about WINX. Because you know, its the main fandom we share.

1. What OTPs in your fandom do you just not get?

-Any of the OTPs that make the Winx girls be in love with their enemies, like Sparxshipping (ughh) or the one where Ogron and Flora are a thing. I just... No.

I also don’t really get the people who try to ship the girls with their teachers. (I’ve seen a few that were legit FloraxPalladium and BloomxFaragonda. Like why? Just why?)

4. Do you have a NoTP in your fandom? Are they a popular OTP?

-Sparxshipping!!! And unfortunately it is a very, very popular ship. I just... Don’t get it. I don’t. It’s... icky to me. And gross to me. (Like if you like it, that’s fine, but don’t ever expect me to write a thing on it or to start shipping it, because I won’t.)

7. Is there anything you used to like but can’t stand now?

- Oh boy...

Look, I used to adore that these were some go-getter teens and that they were strong and independent and taking care of business and shit.

Now? Girls, y’all are like... 17 at the most (in the beginning of the series), you shouldn’t be literally taking on the world right now. Please tell the teachers about what’s going on! Or your parents! Half of you are fucking royalty! Bring the kings and queens into this bullshit! You’re kids, please be kids!

9. Most disliked character? Why?

-Fuck. I don’t necessarily dislike any of the characters, I just dislike (hate with a passion) how they were written. All of the characters could be awesome and amazing, if they were written and kept up with their own character arcs. (Like I hate how flip-floppy Riven’s character was after having such a great arc. And Diaspro and Chimera could have been excellent side villains. Not to mention Krystal as the princess of Linphea could have been much better if she wasn’t just a Let’s get drama started between Helia and Flora ploy.) 

10. Most disliked arc? Why?

-I’m about to get a lot of hate probably... But it’s a tie between the fairy animals and the Love and Pet thing.

I just can’t stand it. They... They already have a little mascot in Kiko and is it really fair to be bringing in more ‘sidekicks’ when the Pixies keep getting fucking sidelined? Especially after all the preaching about how important a pixie is to her fairy? Like good grief.

And the fairy animals thing wasn’t even executed properly. Like how did Faragonda keep a whole-ass zoo secret from her students for seven years, only to bring it up randomly? And it suddenly has to do with ultimate power? (And isn’t the dragon fire/flame supposed to be the ultimate power? Why all this extra ultimate power shit? First the infinite ocean and the Realix powers and the Legandarium and now this?)

Oh wait, I also hate the Layla(Aisha)/Nex/Roy thing... Girl didn’t even get to properly grieve over Nabu before they thrust two new fuckboys at her. Like WTF?!

11. Is there an unpopular character that you like that the fandom doesn’t? Why?

- I can’t really think of any... Except maybe Lucy? I really wish we could have seen and done more with her. She may have been a background character, but she had so much growth.

She literally went from being a Trix follower to becoming a strong witch with a backbone in her own right who still sort of felt betrayed and was hurting to a strong witch who was fine flaunting her relationship with Mirta. Like hell yes!

I also like Roxy and Selina. I feel like what happened during Season 4 should have made a reboot/new gen thing with Roxy starting at Alfea and having adventures while the rest of the Winx are grown and starting their lives (but coming in from time to time as like mentors or something). And Selina could have brought in around this time and rewritten to be like a foil to Roxy or a begrudging friend thing like with Faragonda and Griffin.

12. Is there an unpopular arc that I like that the rest of the fandom doesn’t? Why?

- I think it’d be when the fairies go to learn at Cloud Tower. I was just so happy we finally got to see more of what CT was like and how the witches are taught. And the lore around Cloud Tower being its own entity was amazing! (If it only stayed...)

15. Unpopular Opinion about the show/manga?

-I liked the ideas regarding the Legendarium stuff and the cosmix stuff... But I wished the villains had been different and the writing wasn’t so... Bad and full of plotholes. (Plus I was a sucker for Bloomix, even if I hate the name. It could have been Dragonix or something.)

16, If I could change anything in the show, what would I change?

-I legit am writing my own version of winx. Granted, it is sort of OC-centric because of the main character being Valkyrie... but I did my best to soothe out the plot holes and to make things make sense. 

(Almost everything. Almost everything. Especially with how the later season have been done.)

26. Most shippable character?

- I’m breaking this down into brackets.

Winx- Flora (simply because of how she can easily be seen in relationships with the other girls and guys. She’s just like... This sweet bean who can be with nearly anyone and it feel alright/natural.)

Boys- Honestly... Riven. Hear me out: his attitude makes him perfect for those ships that start off with “make me” and “wanna bet?”. Like he just has this vibe of raw energy that can put him with nearly everyone. And then you add in that secret sweet side and boom. Instant shipping guy.

Villains- Darcy. She’s shown the most interest in relationships outside the Trix, and she has that ‘make me’ energy like Riven. And while she could most likely kill you, if she actually likes you, she’ll keep you around and you see this real version of her. (Maybe I’m biased... I dunno.)

Teacher- Griffin. I really don’t need to answer why for this one... Just take my word for it because dammit I know I’m biased here and I really don’t give a shit.

27, Least shippable character?

- Wizgiz... I don’t know why, but he’s honestly the only person I can’t visualize with someone like i can the others. Hell, I even see Darkar and Mandragora being a lovely couple.

(Also, the Wizards of the Black Circle... They give me these sleazy/ick vibes that just make me feel they’d never be in a relationship with a willing participant. Do with that info what you will.)

I don’t know why this doesn’t have a title, so I gave it one. XD 

1. How many pets do you have and what are they? 

Three doggos and two snakes (though technically the third dog belongs to my grandma). 

Doggo 1: This is Griffin. He’s 3/4 black lab and 1/4 shiba inu. He’s super needy and claims we starve him to death (we don’t), but we love him all the same. Favorite thing: pretending eh loves you so you’ll give him food from your plate. He turns 12 this year. <3 

Doggo 2: This is Loki. He’s a rescue, and as such, we honestly have no idea what breed he is, or how old he is, but we love him. Favorite thing: standing between your legs and tripping you. XD 

Doggo 3: This is Jack, my grandma’s dog. To be honest, he’s kind of a butthole, and not very nice to our other dogs, but my grandma loves him, so I guess that’s what matters. He’s a cockerspaniel, and he’ll be 10 this year. 

Snake 1: This is Zak. He’s a milk snake. He used to be quite the hunter, but now he’s really lazy and makes us lay his food on the bottom of his cage before he’ll even eat it. Favorite thing: wrapping around your necklace/watch/bracelet while you’re holding him. To be perfectly honest, I have no idea how old he actually is, ‘cause I don’t know how snake ages work, but we’ve had him for two years.  

Snake 2: This is Charlie. She’s a ball python, and let me tell you, she is insanely quick. When she grabs the food we give her, just when you think you’re expecting it, she scares the crap out of you and snatches it out of the air. Favorite thing: curling up into a ball (hence the name “ball python”) in your hand and just chllin’. Like Zak, I don’t know how old she is, but we’ve had her for a year. 

2. What’s your Hogwarts house? 

According to Pottermore, Ravenclaw, and while I fully agree with this and will shout my Ravenclaw pride to the heavens, hell, and back, I do think there’s a little bit of Hufflepuff in me too. 

3. What’s your faction? (From the Divergent series)

Umm...well, I’ve never taken an official quiz or anything, but I’m probably Abnegation. 

4. What’s your most underrated OTP? 

Well, most of my Supernatural OTPs are pretty mainstream, so I guess I’ll go with an underrated MCU one, which is Interwebs, because Peter and Ned would seriously make an adorable couple (shout-out to @baloobird for helping me realize that that ship even existed to begin with XD). 

5. What’s your favorite dessert? 

Chocolate chip cookies. <3 

6. What’s your guilty pleasure? 

Watchings “kids” tv shows and movies no matter how bad they are and loving them all the same. XD 

7. What’s your favorite musical? 

Les Miserables and Mary Poppins, both of which I’ve been lucky enough to see on Broadway. 

8. What is your proudest accomplishment? 

This tends to vary as life goes on, but I’d say one of my proudest accomplishments was the work I did for Henry IV: Part II in 2018. I did so much, but I was so proud of it. I was the assistant stage manager, composer, music director, fight captain, main musician, and even had a role in the show. It honestly came with a lot of stressors, and was pretty intense, but I loved every minute of it, and I’m still really proud of everything I pulled off with that production and everything that came with it. 

9. Which 2 Disney Princesses do you relate to on a personal level? 

Right now? Rapunzel. Oh you were speaking not in quarantine times. Got it. XD  See, this is always a little hard, because, first of all, I’m a hardcore Disney fan, and always have been, so every Disney film has a special place in my heart. Second of all, I relate to pretty much all of the Disney Princesses for different reasons--especially the most recent ones. If I had to pick two, though, I guess I would say...Moana and Belle.  I relate to Moana because of her love for the water, sense of adventure, interest in traveling, connection to home/family, and lack of a love interest.  I relate to Belle because of her love of reading, connection to family, sacrificing for those she loves, and wanting to make the world a better place.  Yeah. I think that works. 

10. Disney Princes you relate to on a personal level? 

Ummm...none of them?  My favorite Disney Prince, unofficial or otherwise, is Kristoff. I guess, if I were to really think about it, he’s probably also the one I relate the most to? He was kind of on his own as a kid, but he was taken in by people (trolls) he now considers family (not quite in the same way, but I get what he’s feeling). Plus, he really just throws himself whole-heartedly into his relationship Anna and isn’t ashamed or embarrassed to show how much he loves her; he’d do anything for her (which is really romantic, by the way).  So yeah. I guess I’d say Kristoff. 

11. If you could date any fictional character, who would it be? 

Dean Winchester. No contest. <3  That said, though, he’s technically way too old for me, so if I’m trying to be a little more realistic, Peter Parker. 

12. If you could be best friends with any fictional character, who would it be? 

Jack Kline. Because I love him and adore him, but I don’t really want to date him; I just want to spend all of my time with him. XD <3  Tony Stark is a close second. 

13. If you had to murder someone, how would you do it? 

Well...it honestly depends on the situation. Am I murdering them for myself, or for someone else? Do I care about getting caught?  If I want to get away with the murder, poison, definitely. Probably cyanide. Easy to hide, hard to detect, gets the job done pretty easily.  If I’m trying to make a point, slow and torturous is the way to go. Knife wound, probably?  I don’t know. I watch a lot of crime shows, so I know how to get away with a murder if I really wanted to; however, I honestly do not have the stomach to kill someone, so trying to imagine how I would do it is difficult.  That said, though, I could definitely be convinced to kill you if you hurt anyone I care about--fair warning.

Peter Pan/Wendy Darling (Disney’s Peter Pan) is my best guess as far back as I can remember. That’s the original OTP next to Bruce Wayne/Selina Kyle (DCU) and Ariel/Prince Eric (Disney’s The Little Mermaid).

2. Your newest ship

Hmmm,,, I haven’t really watched anything new,,,,,,, but I mean I did get into Geralt/Jaskier (Netflix’s The Witcher) recently. I really like them.

I grew up on the His Dark Materials books and I always was a Lyra Belaqua/Will Parry shipper and that has never ever changed. They’re so sweet. I WOULD LIKE PHILIP PULLMAN TO BRING THEM IN THE NEXT BOOK THAT IS SUPPOSED TO COME OUT. DO NOT FUCK AROUND.
