About those Wilbury names…
• Nelson Wilbury (aka George Harrison) — Dhani Harrison: “I chose my Wilbury name. My dad had Nelson Wilbury, after Nelson Piquet, the Brazilian Formula One champion. And I chose Ayrton Wilbury, after Ayrton Senna, [another] Brazilian Formula One champion, so we could keep it in the family, you know?” - Hi Res Audio Central, October 16, 2017 • Charlie T. Wilbury Jr. (aka Tom Petty) — Tom Petty: “George had Derek Taylor write an entire history of the Wilbury family. And the father was named Charles Truscott Wilbury. And I took his name as Charles Truscott Wilbury Jnr.” - Breakfast With The Beatles, July 1, 2007 • Lefty Wilbury (aka Roy Orbison) — “Roy took the name ‘Lefty Wilbury’ in homage of the country singer Lefty Frizzell.” - “Roy Orbison: In Dreams,” PRX • Lucky Wilbury (aka Bob Dylan) — Presumably, this is derived from the Dylan song “Idiot Wind,” and the lyric, “I can’t help it if I’m lucky.” • Otis Wilbury (aka Jeff Lynne) — Jeff mentioned in an interview available on the official Wilburys YouTube channel that he chose the name Otis simply because it’s the complete opposite of his own name. Cappelle Calling - 23 oktober 2023
Uur 1:
David Bowie & Mick Jagger - Dancing in the Street (1985) Voltage - The Wild Ones (2023) Green Day - Basket Case (1994) The Rolling Stones feat. Paul McCartney - Bite My Head Off (2023) (LP van de Week) The Rolling Stones - We Love You (1967) The Maureens - Rainy Day (2023) Elbow - One Day Like This (2008) The Rolling Stones - Rolling Stone Blues (2023) (DisCovered) Peter Gabriel - Solsbury Hill (1977) Aretha Franklin - Jumpin' Jack Flash (1986) (Filmplaat - uit 'Jumpin' Jack Flash') Elliott Smith - Miss Misery (1997) The Rolling Stones - Whole Wide World (2023) (LP van de Week)
Uur 2:
Guns 'N Roses - Paradise City (1987) James Sayer - Chemistry (2023) The Rolling Stones feat. Bill Wyman & Elton John - Live By The Sword (2023) (LP van de Week) Celine Cairo - Twilight (2023) Muddy Waters - Rollin' Stone (1950) (DisCovered) Kurt Vile - Another Good Year For The Roses (2023) Traveling Wilburys - Handle With Care (1988) (Muzikale Ketting) Otis Redding - Hard To Handle (1968) (Muzikale Ketting) The The - Uncertain Smile (1983) The Rolling Stones - Tell Me Straight (2023) (LP van de Week) Oasis - Live Forever (1994) The Rolling Stones feat.

Photo by Alberto Tolot. “I just loved playing with the Traveling Wilburys. It was such fun doing that. Oddly enough, with a band that included, besides myself, Bob Dylan, Jeff Lynne, Roy Orbison, Tom Petty and Jim Keltner on drums, I felt less pressure than I had on many smaller projects, because none of us had to worry about the solo performance thing so much. There was so much input from everybody, and we were all relieved to be in a band of equals where no one had to worry about doing all the lead vocals or all the writing. I think a lot of people who liked the first album didn’t get the second one, Traveling Wilburys Vol. 3. Unfortunately, it came out just when the Gulf War was starting and the economy was going down. I remember we were going down to choose outfits for our first video and we heard that they had just bombed Baghdad. But a song like ‘New Blue Moon’ [from Vol. 3] has that slap-back echo and the feel of all those great Fifties records I loved. It stands up to modern technology, yet has the brightness and feel of a real rockabilly record from the Fifties or early Sixties. It made me feel like I’d come full circle in a way.” - George Harrison, Guitar World, 1992 “‘It’s a legendary family,’ says [Roy] Orbison. Each member has his own moniker: there’s Nelson (Harrison), Lucky (Dylan), Lefty (Orbison), Otis (Lynne) and Charlie T. Jr. (Petty). Otis and Nelson produced the extraordinary album, titled Traveling Wilburys. The Wilburys have no plans to tour, but a movie is in the works. ‘The whole story of the Wilburys will unfold,’ says Orbison.” - Rolling Stone, November 17, 1988 “We definitely didn’t want to treat this like a supergroup. I don’t even like the term all that much. But we were aware that it would be viewed as such. We look at the Wilburys as a completely other persona as ourselves. […] It’s so nice when you get the spirit into the vinyl. That’s what you strive for. I hope everybody smiles when they hear it.” - Tom Petty, Lawrence Journal-World, December 11, 1988 (x)

Lucky Loves Charlie T. Jr.
Lucky Wilbury, bka Bob Dylan, took a rare detour from his established setlist of Frank Sinatra covers Saturday night to honor Charlie T. Wilbury Jr., neé Tom Petty (aka Muddy Wilbury).
At his Oct. 21 concert in Colorado on the day after what should have been Petty’s 67th birthday, Dylan surprised fans by playing the latter’s 1991 song “Learning to Fly” during the encore.
Even on low-quality, fan-shot footage from YouTube, it’s evident Dylan and his band handled this performance with care, as the arrangement is obviously rehearsed and Dylan - seated at a piano - enunciates each word clearly.
Check it out before the notoriously fussy Dylan has it removed.
Petty died of a heart attack Oct. 2, just a week after he and the Heartbreakers wrapped a successful, 40th-anniversary tour, leaving Dylan and Jeff (“Otis”) Lynne as the only surviving Wilburys.

Traveling Wilburys but they are all women - a concept
Nelson Wilbury: Joan Baez (mother hen, literal human embodiment of a sunflower, loves their friends)
Lucky Wilbury: Joni Mitchell (broody, grumpy, survives on black coffee and bitterness, a genius and knows it, needs therapy)
Otis Wilbury: Janis Joplin (never seen without shades, looks very intimidating but is actually a sweetie)
Lefty Wilbury: Wanda Jackson (rock n' roll star, everyone's favourite aunt, nicest human being to ever exist)
Charles T. Jr. Wilbury: Stevie Nicks (blonde baby of the group that everyone loves)
