as much as cherry was excited for this gig, getting to model a bit along a friend and play a game she knew she used to enjoy, it’d also been a while since cherry had actually played the game. during legacy’s halloween party she mainly found herself talking or eating, not spending much time gaming, now she’d been called back to do exactly what she’d done so little of: game.

it was an opportunity to get her face out there, and cherry needed that, so of course she’d take the opportunity. she leans her head a bit, eyes widening a little “eh! the graphic is amazing, much better than what i was used to as a kid”. “it’s been a while since i gamed, but this game is a classic, it’ll always be fun, no matter where you are in life or how old you are”.

When I watch drama adaptations, it usually takes me a few episodes to get past the fact that the screenwriter has removed the unique characteristics of the female protagonist that existed in the original work and replaced them with the usual bag of xianxia female protagonist traits. There's nothing inherently wrong with that collection of traits, but if you watch a lot of xianxia dramas, its easy to feel fatigue.

If personality traits and hobbies were crayons, then the novel's MiaoMiao is given many crayons to draw an interesting picture to catch the attention of the readers, but Esther Yu only get a few to work with, and I think that's a more challenging starting point because she's more limited in how she can behave.

Esther Yu's portrayal of a cute, sweet, bubbly, sunshine Ling MiaoMiao was so good that for the first eight episodes, I was entertained enough that I didn't even notice the change. She had so little to work with, but she nailed it. She wasn't afraid to appear ridiculous in order to make the audience laugh. Her physical comedy and the way she can act with her voice is great.��

I would need at least 1,000 words to properly gush about ep 7 and 8. (Everything was so stunning and picturesque and the emotional highs were so good. It felt like I was watching the final episodes of a drama, and I was curious how the screenwriter was going to keep up this momentum and energy. If Mu Sheng is like this at 25-30%, what will he be like at 100%? I saw a reddit comment that if he can be at -200%, then it means he could go higher than 100% in favorability. Are we going to see MiaoMiao falling for Mu Sheng? Everything is tinged with a glittery romantic cloud. I'll show some restraint and stop here.)

It was around the end of ep 8 that I noticed that except for MiaoMiao's interactions with her father, the screenwriter has been omitting* and replacing MiaoMiao and Mu Sheng's interactions with other people. Instead, MiaoMiao and Mu Sheng have these interactions with each other. Its especially noticeable in ep 7 and 8. I won't say it's problematic. At the time, I assumed the screenwriter wanted the drama to be even more romance-centric than the original work. That this was a creative choice, totally fine. Esther Yu and Ding Yuxi's chemistry is amazing, a great direction to go in.

* For example, just like in the drama, MiaoMiao initially thinks the problem between Mu Yao and Liu Fuyi is that he's obliviously nice to other women (that is part of the problem), and she's totally on Mu Yao's side. When the group is on the boat, she suggests that he and Mu Yao should talk it out, and that's when he tells her that their relationship problem can't be solved just by talking and explains a bit about their issues. It's a rare moment when we get to see an emotionally-thoughtful Liu Fuyi.

It's an important moment that shows the readers that Liu Fuyi and Mu Yao are real people, not characters in a novel. That MiaoMiao's understanding of them and their relationship is shallow, and she sees that too. 

Back to my main point, I think Esther's acting salvaged the screenwriter's cookie cutter characterization for Ling MiaoMiao for quite a while. Then, there was the love bracelet debacle and the lack of emotional resolution for it, and there was no saving after that.

I like how differently Esther Yu acted during the love puppet phase and those moments when she was struggling against the bracelet's control. Although, it felt sad that Mu Sheng was the only one that noticed and showed concern about the change in her behavior. It bought to attention how shallow her relationship was with Mu Yao and Liu Fuyi.

(It would have been great to see the group talk about this. And as a result of this previous incident, they notice when MiaoMiao acts differently after she loses her modern-day memories. Except for Mu Sheng, the protagonist group doesn't change much outside of specific scenes.)

I also liked how Esther Yu portrayed Ling MiaoMiao differently after she lost her modern-day memories. She behaved like someone that had lost a very important part of herself.

I feel bad that Esther Yu has to act like a child in the last third of the drama. In the group scenes, she feels like a mix of a mother figure to CuiCui and his playmate. In the later episodes, when CuiCui is around, Mu Sheng might as well be empty air to her. And they just got together. This should be their honeymoon period.

Their relationship felt sweeter in ep 7 when his favorability was only 20%, and she was feeling guilty about what she said. Back then, her attention was primarily on him in group scenes. The change in her behavior was especially noticeable in ep 23.

A lot of the stuff that MiaoMiao does for Mu Sheng in the novel, the screenwriter changed it so that Mu Sheng does them for MiaoMiao instead, which I felt was unnecessary. There are so many novel scenes to choose from. And, as we can see as early as ep 2 and 5, the screenwriter can write very good new moments and plotlines for them.

On a slight tangent, I like this novel scene where MiaoMiao zones out while looking at Mu Sheng's face. She's thinking about all of his advantages (his intelligence, his lie-detection skills, her thoughts go down this line for a while, basically how he's the perfect demon hunter. We can easily see that she's very attracted to him.) Meanwhile, he gets increasingly flustered why she's been looking at him for so long. 

Over time, MiaoMiao goes from a protagonist (with her own interests and goals that she's actively working towards) to Mu Sheng's love interest, his savior, his book fan, etc when they're alone, which limits how she can act. Its ironic that she tells Mu Sheng career is more important than love, but we don't get to see that side of her, whether its in the book/dream world or in her real life.

She gets this OP lotus power from the system, but we only see Mu Sheng's training montage and his journey of self-discovery and healing and becoming a hero. At bare minimum, it would have been nice watching it be their journey learning how to use the lotus power and the legendary weapon. Mu Sheng brings up that she has to train her new ability instead of using it like brute force, but that's all we get.

Anyways, I think Esther Yu did an amazing job playing Ling MiaoMiao and it was extra nice treat we got to see her act as Lin Yu. Even though MiaoMiao and Lin Yu wear the same clothes and hair accessories, they feel so different because of Esther Yu's acting. Her portrayal of Lin Yu as a cruel, calculating, soft-spoken villainess was my favorite drama change.

!! Will include some lgief spoilers !! I am so in love with lgief. It follows the typical villainess-capturing-the-unconquerable-character's-heart-isekai trope but it's so well done. Since I am still undeniably hooked with this series, I will be listing the things I took note of while watching. ( Reminder that the following comments are based on my opinions alone.) - First, the chemistry between the two main leads is top-notch. A sweet enemies-to-lovers done with justice by the actors. From their silly bickering to slowly falling in love and eventually having open mutual affections for one another. The development in their relationship was greatly paced, you can't help but melt over their growing trust for each other.

They didn't have a 'proper kiss-on-lips scene' but their forehead kiss felt way more intimate to me compared to the side couple's kiss scene. There's so much emotion with this interaction alone and I couldn't help but be touched.

Huge kudos to actors Esther Yu and  Ding Yuxi for portraying their roles so well and creating great chemistry for the romance of these two characters. - Next, speaking of good portrayal of roles, Ding Yuxi (actor of Ziqi), had such remarkable control over his facial expressions! (see latest reblog)

I think it added so much depth to Ziqi's character, making him very easy to love.

Same goes for Miaomiao! I can't imagine an actress who would suit her role more than Esther Yu! So lovely and refreshing, she feels so natural and the cuteness doesn't feel forced at all. - As for the plot itself, I really enjoyed realizing the twists in each mystery and seeing everything connect with the hints from the beginning to the end. The pacing didn't feel too fast or too slow, just right to keep the story moving. I also really like the usage of characters from previous arcs. - For the side couple, I like the nobility in Mu Yao's character, her willingness to stand with her loved ones and protect them along with her own virtues. I think she's a strong character with a great established ambition along with her flaws. - As for Liu Fuyi, however, I think he could've had more chances to show his emotional bonds with characters other than Mu Yao but it became a lost potential. He's alright, but I just couldn't find it in myself to have any attachment towards him compared to the other characters. He felt bland in comparison (and it's definitely not because of his calm demeanor), I personally think he just needed more silly self-centric moments to make him feel more like he's a person and not just a plot device. Overall, the drama was such a great binge! I wish I could watch it again for the first time. That's all!

so we start the ep with all the workers leaving bc theyre not an official's residence anymore, and oh man, i love the side of miaomiao we get to see because of it.

her bargaining nature… her knowledge of how to get the best prices, what are cheaper but similar alternatives, when the best time to go is, etc. miaomiao, how often do you do this in your world? you are so funny for this. queen. im obsessed with her.

and i love her little pathetic fake stepping in place to make it seem like she was leaving, LOL. as well as how cute she is hopping on her two feet while her dad is amazed. like yaaaaah i did thattttt i know my stuff.

ziqi listening to this convo goes down had me wondering why, esp with his solemn-type expression. are you just spying on her? did u have intentions on talking to her, but overheard all this so you stayed and listened? like i actually wonder if he kinda wanted to follow up on his 0% feelings from the festival? idk! but hearing this caused a fork in the road and he chose a different approach to her from what he couldve been planning.

miaomiao blaming herself for her dads death is so so sad. it must be a bit difficult at this moment to believe that the man next to her is some version of her father while thinking of her real one, and it is a little jarring to hear them both talk about him as some Other Person, instead of "no, i wouldnt have blamed you, dear," but the feeling is there all the same. at the end of the day, that is like her dad, but shes definitely trying to detach a little bit because its Not, and goes as far as calling him "old lin" to create a boundary for herself, i imagine. otherwise, she would absolutely get too attached, and thats why she also warns him if she suddenly goes back to being mean she hopes he isnt upset.

miaomiao im sorry his bitch ass eavesdropped and isnt even apologetic about it. he didnt seem so sinister when he was listening, but now hes cornering her! and she is so surprised at it too! you can see how shes processing what hes saying and what that means. oh shes so offended, even though in the imperial capital shes so for it. i love that scene there lol.

from the moment i first watched this moment, i knew ziqi had some connection to the real world. i was like, why does he care so much about this? he cares a lot. this is kinda sus. and after the Go game they definitely make it more obvious.

i wonder whats going on in his head when he asks this tho? is he thinking that she is some type of demon who can time/universe travel or something? because hes linking that to her being weird/sneaky, and i cant imagine how else he would make it make sense in his head given the universe.

for this cycle, we’ll be implementing a different way of submitting gig claims as a way to help everyone see what can be claimed.

first you will have to go to this DOCUMENT and check the “INTRODUCTION” tab to read the instructions. afterwards, you will go to your muse’s tab and fill out the “REQUEST FORM” section ( activity level, gig, other participants [ if applicable ], skill distribution, and notoriety ). the “ADMIN APPROBATION” column must be left blank and will be updated whenever one of the admins has reviewed and scheduled the gig. once you are done filling out the request form section, you will see a row that says “READY FOR ADMIN REVIEW?” and a drop down menu next to it. select “YES” when you are done. once everything has been reviewed by an admin, the drop down menu will change to “REVIEWED” and you can start writing the twitter posts for it. when we receive the twitter posts, that status will then change to “APPROVED” by the admins. you have until NOVEMBER 9, 2024 11:59PM EST to fill out the request form.

"But I legit learned Korean from scratch and Japanese, and now I am working on Mandarin. I learned how to pose for pictures, film videos, and even host podcasts too!" Not bad for a guy who joined Legacy in 2022, right? He wasn't even counting his improvement in the singing and dancing departments.

"Maybe," he said. "Just maybe...I am secretly smart and this is a sign I should pursue a university degree on the side or something." Seyoon prattled on, ignoring Yuxi's obvious lack of interest in whatever the hell he was spewing. Yes, once again, they'd managed to run into each other. Seyoon never actively sought Yuxi out, but somehow fate had a way of pushing them together. Every so often he thought about how this might be the universe prompting him to shoot his shot, but there was a cowardly part of him apprehensive that she'd respond to his advances with a beating (possibly with her designer handbag). "Wanna check out my Mandarin skills? Ask me a question! Something simple."

BACKSTORY

zheng yunxi was born in wanzhou to the emperor and his most senior concubine. because of the nature of his birth, publicly his name is wang jianglin ( ranking officals keep their true names secret ).

he didn't have a line to the throne that was for his older brothers ( children of the empress). growing up jianglin was brought up by tutors and nannies, ensuring he wouldn't embarrass the kingdom.

from birth he was engaged to an chenwu (liu yuxi). he never really understood the meaning behind it, but he knew that she would be in his life once he reached adulthood. but life didn't stay peaceful. there was unrest in their kingdom, and the emperor didn't want his sons to be endangered. so jianglin was sent away. sent away to the shadow wood sect. but he had to keep a secret, the secret that he was actually sent away and not that he chose it on his own. ( it would be such a scandal if the emperor sent his son away from the fighting, but he was 10. wouldn't they understand? ).

once he was old enough to get his weapon, jianglin began to strongly focus on training and learning the art of healing. he would read books upon books on how to heal with or without his staff. he knew that he couldn't solely rely on having his staff with him.

during his schooling he didn't particularly go out of his way to make friendships. but he didn't try to be hateful. but he only felt a closeness to his sect. he would often times find himself laughing at the poor souls who decided to try and make deals with them and be ran off by their beast tamers. the looks on their faces would make jianglin's day.

CURRENT CIRCUMSTANCES

currently, jianglin has developed to the transcendent realm. he puts much of his focus in his studies and hopes to ascend again. ever since he was sent to the sect under other means, his engagement was dissolved and he no longer had contact with chenwu. chenwu was his best friend, like another part of him. to this day it still pains him to be on the other side of her hate. he knows that he'll never have her heart or her friendship again.

his personality used to be a fun and carefree boy who took his studies and training seriously. he had always been smart / gifted. but now his fun and carefree nature has turned into a grumpy man who just wants to meditate or practice his craft, and those who interrupt him he is very quick to using his magic to make them go away. he cares deeply for people despite his outward demeanor and personality, so if someone comes to him injured he is quick to help. he never wants someone to hurt or die because he didn't do something to help them.

cherry was already excited for prom, but going with her girlfriend made her even more excited. cherry wanted something pretty, and she was lucky that after her reconnecting with her dad, he was spoiling her quite a lot, hence when she talked about prom with him, he offered to pay for the dress. he wanted to come along to pick it out, but he was too busy, lucky for cherry, she had yuxi, who definitely didn’t lack in honesty.

“my original thought was to wear something green and pink? what do you think? would that be too difficult to find, not match me? i’ve also considered just wearing either pink or green” she runs a hand over a dress, “what colour will you be wearing? and do you have a prom date yet?” cherry smiles to herself, thinking about her own prom date, oh is she excited to see her girlfriend’s dress.

Now that I'm finally done with Love You Seven Times, these are my thoughts:

I LOVE DING YUXI

What happened to Immortal Li???? I was waiting till the end for him to show up again or at least for then to tie up that loose plot thread but absolutely nothing? My funny charming just there for the plots sake Li js gone? Ah I miss this guy

I love and absolutely adore their costumes during the demon arc cause chu kong's hair is to die for and xiangyun's eyeshadow is a masterpiece. Their entire costumes are just top tier.

The colors of this drama OMG. each and every scene has such freaking pretty colors and no scene is bland as such like just amazing

Even the power thing like each character has their own power color and the colors looks so awesome good plus the scenery the background the entire set deserves appreciation on it's own!!!

Not gonna talk about the obvious xianxia problems that occurs in these drama iykyk

Thank god xiangyun's friend cum colleague showed up in the last ep cause otherwise idk it would've just been weird

Can we talk about how all the characters have such good accessories and then haoxuan is just dressed up in simple one or compartively simpler one's? Serves him right.

Their first arc about the boar/pig with the tiger is the cutest and will be the cutest out of all, you can't change my mind. Plus the way they jeep hinting at it even in the last ep>>>>

I wanted to see ming yue get some closure girl just existed for the plot I feel so bad for her she just wanted to spend time with her sister TT

The mortal arcs were super fun esp the 2nd where xiangyun is just playing around with chu kong and the 4th one with the body swap

Is it just me or is it that the cast for this drama is small? Like other dramas have a super long cast with drawn out side plots but I think that aspect was kinda missing in this drama I didn't find a good amount if side characters it was just the same ones repeating again and again

BUT the entire story is so cute and lovely even with all the plot holes.

It just makes you feel warm

Ding yuxi has done it again, that man has carried the entire show in his shoulders and has done it amazingly well.

If I were to rate it out of 10 I would give it a 8? Mainly and mainly for the amazing colors which you would NOT find in other dramas and the costumes I love the costumes.

Would I recommend you to watch it? Yes but don't take it as serious drama. It's a lighthearted xianxia with amazing costumes and colors💫

“what area(s) do you think you’ve personally improved on since the beginning of this year?”

singing:

despite having only been originally assigned as a rapper for crystallis, she's been working on her vocals over the last year. she had thought that since crystallis' image didn't really suit any songs with too much rap in them, that she should work on her singing voice too. she's released a full singing cover on youtube and she's pretty proud of it. when danbi left and yuxi and yujin joined and the positions were shuffled around, she was happy to see that she still had her vocalist position. since then, she's gotten some lines that would've originally been out of her vocal range so she's pretty proud of that.

dancing:

she had always considered herself a dancer before anything else, aside from maybe having learned to rap to be able to officially be idol material. but she had been sorely disappointed when she didn't have a 'dance' title in her official positions in crystallis. since the member changes though—and since she's been working her butt off during practice—she's gained the title of lead dancer and she's very pleased with it.

japanese:

she had debuted without knowing a single ounce of japanese and when they were told crystallis would be promoting in japan, somin had panicked. despite the lessons, she had spent a ton of time studying in her free time and even going to ichika for help whenever she had any questions. since then, she's gotten much better and can even hold conversations in japanese now, even if she still stumbles over some of her words sometimes.

“what are some of your personal goals for 2024?”

she wants to go on more variety shows. having her own show on the crystallis channel wasn't something that she had thought would happen, but it was definitely something that she had been hoping to have one day. she hadn't been able to have her own vlive show (back when those had existed) and she didn't get a chance to host anything so she's really excited to be able to do so.

she also wants to release more dance covers with other people (including her members). and if possible, she wants to do more modelling for cfs or for magazines since she had had a lot of fun with those.

“in the group, what do you consider your biggest weakness and what can you do to improve on it?”

she would say that her biggest weakness is that she hasn't really found her own niche to fill in the group yet. it kind of felt that all of the older members had their own "thing" that they were known for in the group and she hadn't really found what hers was yet, aside from being the youngest.

she's considering learning how to play an instrument or start trying to write her own lyrics or something, but nothing has really stood out to her yet. her goal this year is to try as many things as possible to promote crystallis and also hopefully find out what her role is, aside from being the maknae.

“aside from the role attached to you (eg. main vocalist, lead dancer, etc.) what else do you think you contribute to the group?”

she likes to think that since she's such a social butterfly and is also the youngest, she brings a certain charm to the group as their golden maknae. she would brag that she can sing, rap and dance but she's also always cheerful and upbeat and she hopes that it helps cheer the members up. her antics with soyoun tend to be on the a lot side, but she has a feeling the members do appreciate when she runs around to try to bring everyone's spirits up.

also, she always has snacks. so if anything, she can probably be the 'happy virus' for the team with those.

Changes to Liu Fuyi in the drama

Yang Shize is so fun to watch in variety shows and interviews and in Moonlight (he seems so natural as Jiang Yucheng from the douyin videos I watched). I was excited to see him, Esther Yu, and Ding Yuxi act together again. While he has a few funny lines (the compliment at the lantern festival and the duel) and a scene where he's showing a different side (that drinking scene with Mu Sheng), I wish they did more with his character before the illusion demon part (ep 26-29). 

I didn't find Liu Fuyi interesting enough to want him to have a character arc that's separate from MiaoMiao and Mu Sheng. My favorite part for his character arc was the illusion demon, who doesn't understand what she was doing was wrong.

In the novel, he has multiple layers to him. On the boat, MiaoMiao asks Liu Fuyi why he doesn't just talk to Mu Yao. From her perspective, their conflict is just a misunderstanding, and everything can be solved by communicating.

This is his response:

"Over the years, Yao'er and I have long become accustomed to shouldering everything on our own. Rather than say we're lovers... it would be better to say we're partners. We depend on each other, but we also compete with each other. In this relationship, we're afraid of losing to the other. A single loss means an unrecoverable defeat..." He looked at MiaoMiao with the sympathetic eyes of an elder and stopped talking. "You're still young. You don't understand."

Just from that one conversation, the readers can see that he and Mu Yao are more than the simple heroic figures MiaoMiao has read about, and MiaoMiao begins to see that her understanding of them and their relationship is shallow. The author is also showing that MiaoMiao's view on romantic relationships is simple, but she's mature enough to not force her view on Liu Fuyi.

(Mu Yao and Liu Fuyi's relationship is one between two adults. They have other considerations beyond love, so they hesitate. Whereas, MiaoMiao and Mu Sheng's relationship is like first love in high school or college. They don't have worries beyond what if the other person doesn't like me.)

In the drama, Liu Fuyi comes across as socially awkward, but in the novel, he's sociable and good at caring for others, both emotionally and in practical matters. He easily makes friends during the demon hunting mystery cases.

He notices when MiaoMiao is homesick and comforts her. Although Mu Sheng is great at surviving in the wild and being a demon hunter, neither he nor Mu Yao have friends, so it's through observing Liu Fuyi and MiaoMiao's interactions that he learns the socially acceptable things people do for their friends. (Mu Sheng would probably never admit that though.)

Liu Fuyi is like a golden retriever that everyone, men and women, wants to pat and cuddle with. He could easily be shipped with any other character, but Mu Yao is the only one for him. She is the one person that causes him to overthink. He's so cautious with her and doesn't want to overstep. 

As for why I call him a himbo, there's three reasons. First, it doesn't occur to him that other people will be romantically interested in him unless they confess to him, and then he'll reject them. In this regard, Liu Fuyi is much smarter in the drama.

Second, he has a huge blind spot for Mu Sheng. He says things like, "A'Sheng is still young and a bit clingy" and "A'Sheng always tells the truth" to MiaoMiao. A few chapters after Liu Fuyi makes that latter comment, Mu Sheng is advising MiaoMiao she has to improve her lying skills.

MiaoMiao goes from thinking poor Liu Fuyi - getting tricked by the devious black lotus - to Liu Fuyi is hopeless. Mu Yao is the only dependable one. By the final story arc, Liu Fuyi and MiaoMiao have a comfortable friendship where she teases him about Mu Yao and he teases her back.

Third, MiaoMiao misleads Liu Fuyi into thinking she has a crush on Mu Sheng, so Liu Fuyi views her interactions with Mu Sheng with rosy-tinted glasses and constantly fails to read the mood between them. He's always walking away to give them time alone and taking Mu Yao with him. He's like a person watching two kittens hissing at each other and cooing over how cute they are and thinking they're getting along. That's Liu Fuyi. He's their biggest shipper, an unsung hero in the development of the relationship!

MiaoMiao's actions are the catalyst that causes Liu Fuyi's view of Mu Sheng to diverge further away from reality.

There's a scene where Liu Fuyi sees something incriminating when he goes to Mu Sheng's room. He's aghast by the implications of what Mu Sheng has done. A second later, he finds out the truth. It was all MiaoMiao XD. Ever since then, his view that Mu Sheng is a good boy has thoroughly solidified, and nothing can shake it.

In ep 15, Liu Fuyi unfairly lectures Mu Sheng to be nice to MiaoMiao because she's a girl, and I was thinking, I wish Liu Fuyi could be nicer to Mu Sheng and give him the benefit of the doubt like he would in the novel. But, on second thought, Liu Fuyi is too different from his novel counterpart and so is MiaoMiao for that to be in character for him.

So, we get four layers to Liu Fuyi: the dependable hero (what we see in the drama), the social butterfly/golden retriever, the cautious lover (see this in drama too, but for different reasons), and the himbo wingman.

As a reader, I like him a lot just because he unobtrusively ships Mu Sheng and MiaoMiao. Taking that critical role away from him and giving it to CuiCui (one of the screenwriter's new characters) drastically lessens the appeal of Liu Fuyi. This just one example of the screenwriter sacrificing and taking away aspects of novel characters to highlight her new characters. 

Anyways, I wondered why they removed so much of his personality and interests in the drama and then didn't utilize his new character traits. I think Yang Shize did the best that any actor could for Liu Fuyi.

Even though he has adequate screen time, the script often doesn't have any dialogue or action for him to do. He's just… there. During the group's first meeting with Zhao Ruoshi in episode 15, his one memorable action was to nod when Mu Yao asked him a question.

Those rare times when he gets to say a few words or just a nod, he does a good job every time.

the commotion of the retreat has minji in a great mood. she's glad to have more time to interact with the other idols in the company, many of whom she doesn't get to talk to very often due to schedules often not overlapping. she's especially excited to be playing these games, her competitive nature finally getting a chance to shine for the first time in a while.

the trust me game is something minji hadn't necessarily expected, but is excited nonetheless to play. as a participant in round one, and the youngest in her group, she tries her very hardest to collect as much flour as she can (though there's usually not much left once it reaches her) in the container. she's glad she has some pretty good arm flexibility from all her dance training (though she is by no means immune to a dense, snow-white covering of flour on her head by the end of the round either).

as soon as minji feels like it starts, the round is over, and the artists switch between spectator and participant. minji shakes her head as if she were a wet dog as she walks to the side. however, before she gets their, she catches a glimpse of yuxi, and can't help but laugh. "yuxi-nim! you look like you've been out in the snow!" she feels bad for laughing, knowing the girl surely tried her best, but it is still amusing nonetheless. perhaps even good for some content.
