Gods of Norweld for A Knife in the Dark

Okay so the gods fall into three categories. The Jorla Circle, the Jartoni Circle, and the Other non-affiliated deities. Now what is Jorla and Jartoni? Well, they are old Elven words meaning Light and Dark, yet they do not necessarily mean good and evil. For some gods in the Jorla circle are crude assholes, and some in the Jartoni circle promote wisdom and consider their dark brethren as just pure evil.

It is below the cut as it is a lot of gods lol. How many of these will be in the stories? Many will be mentioned, and I probably went too far with it, but I do not care. lol

Jorla Circle:

Woaden – King of all the Gods, Purveyor of Justice, All-Seeing, All-Knowing

Charl – Brother of Wooaden. King of the seas and all storms. Only heeds Woaden and no one else. Would be considered evil by most standards, but his loyalty lies with his oldest brother.

Kordan – Brother of Woaden. Protector of hunters, giver of honor, revered by archers of all races.

Leya – Queen of the Gods, wife of Woaden. Commands the domain of mystics and magic. Is also the patron of all those who seek knowledge

Pheon – The god of the sun, he who raises the sun every day. Abhors the undead, his name is usually used in the fight against the fearsome, but thankfully, rare creatures.

Voari and Voara – Twin brother and sister, Voari’s domain is of conventional love while Voara’s domain is of unconventional love that goes against societal norms. Considered the youngest of all the gods and lesser spirits.

Aeia – The goddess of gardens, farmers, of the world.

Sima – Daughter of Charl, protector of sailors. A shrine for her is dedicated in every coastal village, town, and city no matter the size. As sailors visit them before any journey. Patron goddess of the Sea Elves.

Kor – God of strength, athletic prowess, skill at arms and warfare

Imara – Goddess of healing, herbs, animals, the harvest, the forest, and patron deity of Wood Elves.

Eon – God of labor, craftsmanship, and triumph over adversity and patron of all Dwarves.

Manu – God of festivals, humor, and the performing arts.

Lorminia – Goddess of death and rebirth, deliverance, and winter. Is called The Keykeeper, as she holds the keys to the two afterlives—Vul for those good of heart, and the Void for those evil of heart. She is both highly-respected and highly-feared.

Sami – God of sleep, good dreams, and of rest.

Jartoni Circle:

Loira – The Queen of the Jartoni circle, mother of assassins, patron of thieves, and she who controls luck.

Risa – Goddess of domination, darkness, and tyrants

Jas’Ka’Nae – The oldest god in the pantheon whose domain is dark magic and forbidden knowledge.

Ives – Goddess of lust, desire, and a murderous passion

Luuk – God of lies, death, and undeath, direct rival to Pheon

Karlua – Goddess of demonic summoning, destruction, and power. The genuinely one of the most evil of all gods.

Isoa – God of night, nightmares, insanity, and pure terror

Yula – God of suffering and torture

Insipi – God of bloodlust and combat

Andia – Goddess of sacrifice

Other Deities:

Intani – Sister of Lorminia, goddess of death and often seen by her sister’s side yet held no loyalty to anyone.

Zeel – Goddess of the moon and of non-violent insanity

Arachnae – Goddess of spiders and betrayal, is unwelcomed by any and all

The Huntress – Goddess of Vengeance

Ghazash – God of deceit, intimidation, and manipulation

Witchy Self-Care

Hi! this is a list of witchy self-care things you can do. Most of these are pretty basic on account that i wrote this ages ago but they definitely still work. Anyways, I hope these help :)

Do the dishes and dedicate it to your house spirit (if you have one) or a deity (if you're religious)

sweep/mop your floor in the shape of sigils

add rosemary (or rosemary water/essential oils) to the water you mop with to set an intention of cleansing

taking ritual a bath/shower

cleansing your energy. it's so basic but I forget more than i'd like to admit

dedicating time to yourself. it's just as important as dedicating time to your deities/other spirits

light shadow work or going to therapy. bettering your mental health also betters your spiritual.

go outside and ground yourself

take a nap (less witchy, more, I love naps. rest is important)

work out/stretch and dedicate it to an entity

do some gratitude

take 5 minutes to just sit and turn off your devices. you can use this time for anything, just take a second to get off screens and connect with the world around you

meditate. if you can't sit still long enough to meditate, just focus on taking 3 deep breathes

when you wash your face, draw sigils on your face with the cleanser and moisturiser

^do the same as above but with your body wash and when you wash your hair

say some affirmations/manifestations while brushing your teeth

just check in with yourself and see how you're feeling spiritually, psychically and emotionally. sometimes we don't actually know how we're feeling until we sit down and actually ask ourselves.

Lord Ares Prayer / Invocation

God of war, battle, bloodlust, and courage;

Son of King Zeus and Queen Hera;

Father of the almighty Amazons;

He helps us through our battles,

Spurs us to keep going when hope is lost, but our rage is not.

A father, a guide, a teacher.

O, dreaded Ares, come to us now

For you bring us to the forefront of our glory.

Come to us and fuel the fire burning within us.

Do you ever feel lost? Location wise, mentally, or both? Have you ever taken a turn in life that you did not plan?

In the moments you need guidance, the fleeting changes of perspective or yearned direct help- it may hit you. The young but major deities of decisions and directions represent how you may feel, they have potential to become a guiding force in this strange world for people and anomalies alike. Directions are different for everybody, will it be good change?

Hestia Devotional Activities

I was cleaning my room last night and found this list on a random piece of paper. I've been worshipping/working with Lady Hestia for roughly 2 years now so I have no idea when these ideas are from but I hope you enjoy!

Pick up rubbish in communal areas

Offer the first or last bites/portions of food your to her

Cooking/baking for yourself or others

Having a candle lit whenever possible (electric or real)

Alternatively, playing a video of a fire place. (This is my favourite)

Volunteering at or donating to homeless or DV shelters

Setting healthy boundaries with friends and family

Tea/Coffee magick is always a great devotional opportunity

Get involved with your local community in anyway possible.

Additionally, getting involved in politics! Advocating for policies you believe will better the community is absolutely in alignment with Hestia and her role in ancient Greece.

Allow yourself to rest (this is UPG but i've always found that she just wants you to take care of yourself more than anything).

Do a chore you've been putting off for a long time and dedicate it to her

Organise to hang out with some friends and/or family

Be kind to others AND YOURSELF!!

Veil or bind your hair!

Wear something red or orange (I normally opt for a red hair tie and bind my hair with it. 2 birds, 1 stone)

Make a devotional playlist for her

While we're on the topic of digital witchcraft, make a pinterest board or a mood board for her
