Tonight's elixir is this not-so-simple #cocktail is heavy on rum reaching near-diabeties proportions while I try to clear out the bar. And, if I happen to bartend an event you attend and order this drink... I will beat you down!: Zombie 1.00 oz. light rum 1.00 oz. gold rum 1.00 oz. dark rum 0.50 oz. apricot brandy 1.00 oz. crème de banana (substituted with orgeat syrup) 1.00 oz. pineapple juice 1.00 oz. lemon juice 1.00 oz. lime juice 0.25 oz. grenadine 1.00 tbsp. brown sugar (optional) 0.50 oz. spiced rum floated on top Paired with leftover chicken empanadas. Drank and dined while watching "Dawson's Creek Season 5" on @Hulu. “Trinidad Especial” from @cocktails_for_breakfast ❤️ - After getting some delicious Orgeat Syrup from @monin_europe I wanted to try a recipe that allowed it to shine. I’m also a big fan of Angostura bitters (who isn’t?!), so when I saw this drink in one of my cocktail books it sounded so interesting. This is from the Book of Bitters by @dradamshob - The base ‘spirit’ in this is actually the bitters. 30ml, or 1 whole ounce of bitters! But it works, it’s amazing! The Orgeat is also front and centre, with a whole ounce of that in there too. It sounds almost crazy, but I highly recommend this drink to anyone 😀 You just can’t have it too often or your Angostura would be empty pretty quickly 😂 This was also my first time using Pisco, although the recipe only called for a small amount. So I’m looking forward to trying out more Pisco drinks soon.
