My Presets: SimpleSyrup

Shadows are most intense for my liking with this preset, vibrancy is lowered however depth and brightness has been heighten a smudge.

This will be spiced, buttered maple syrup for a bourbon and champagne cocktail that I read about… it’s so good and my kitchen smells like holiday heaven. I’ve toasted cinnamon, ginger, cloves, mace, allspice, cardamom, black pepper, nutmeg, lemon and oranges rind. Then I sautéed it with butter for a couple of minutes and added the maple syrup. I let the whole thing simmer for a few minutes, and then added a 1/2 cup of lemon juice and the same of orange juice. Let it simmer for a couple of minutes more and then turn off the heat, cover and let it infuse. To make the cocktail I’ll put a jigger of good bourbon, two tablespoons of the strained syrup and a dash of orange bitters into a cocktail glass and over ice. Then I’ll top it with champagne! You can add more syrup if you want it sweeter, but start with a smaller quantity. Garnish with a cinnamon stick, and a swirl of orange peel. Tonight we are drinking: -French Maid cocktail —1.75oz Cognac —.25oz Falernum —1oz ginger beer —.75 fresh lime juice —.5 simple syrup 4 cucumber wheels 6 mint leaves with sprig In a shaker muddle simple syrup, 3 cucumber wheels, and mint leaves. Add other ingredients and shake on ice. Strain into chilled highball and garnish with cucumber wheel and mint sprig.
