it took about a week! the length of the yarn is all over the place because i’m cutting it by hand with scissors and there are little bits of fuzz all over my office lol this is the guide i made and here are some progress pics 💕

so i have been using this pocket binder to keep my fixed circular needles organized for a little while and decided to get another for all my cords for my interchangeable sets as well and i must say it’s a great way to stay organized. all i need to do now is break out my label maker!!!

Okay no crafting updates, but my room is so much cleaner! Most of it was organizing to clear floor space but I also finished cleaning this little organizer thing and separated out my safety eyes by size and color and was able to fit a bunch of other things in this organizer

And there’s still space for when I finally find my metal plushie claws! They are in my room somewhere and someday I will find them

actually thinking very hard about gerome/yarne specifically virion!yarne because hes my favorite but also what if when we were kids i was your only friend and confidant in a country where everyone despised your family on account of your traitor father and you were looked down upon due to your taguel lineage and then your parents died and oh fuck so did mine and you were left with nothing but a dead culture and rule over people that hate you but i stayed by your side through it all not only as your knight and guardian but also as your friend and also we were both boys. what if we had to flee our home after it fell to risen and i watched as you succumbed to your anxiety over being the last taguel and sole heir to your house but i was powerless to comfort you in my own grief and then i lose sight of you for years as we travel back into the past and when we finally reunite things are can never be how they were before but i dont need them to be i just need you to be okay now. and we were both boys. my vision do you see it

Sloooowly organizing my office/art supplies as I unpack- went to IKEA last night to get more storage and I'm delighted by these pegboards! I need different screws to mount it so not on the wall yet, but in the meantime wanted to figure out arrangements

Things may end up moving - I need access to dry erase markers and paint pens way more than embroidery hoops or cool rocks - but I think I'm mostly there!

i had a dream that the most cluttered part of my room was all cleaned up. which would be just a bunch of yarn and granny squares thrown on the floor. but in the dream they were stacked up and stuff. so. I think today's the day. I clean my room.

You know people don’t tell you this but apparently when you are actually on meds for your ADHD you suddenly gain the ability to just… make spreadsheets

Two years ago me barely even touched google sheets. Today me is constantly like “hmm you know what I could do with all this information I’m gathering? Make an intense multi tab spreadsheet as a quick reference guide :)”

good god someone stop me from adopting a cat very soon. my house is a mess and i don't have any supplies, and it would restrict my ability to travel for possible grad school interviews/visits.

but................ i want a cat so badly. i miss having a little guy that hangs around. ugh

It's growing!

I have one round left. The last few have been very chill. This last round is going to be a doozy.

Tomorrow I've got some free time between work meetings (like an awkward amount of time that means you can't start something new before you just get distracted again) and I can either start the last round or organize my yarn stash by color or fiber content or grist or something.

Do you have a particular organization you work with for providing disaster relief?

At the moment, no. My dad and several of my neighbors have been helping out with various local groups, but so far my donations have been things like clothes I had on hand that happened to be the size my neighbor's coworker, who lost their house in a flood, needed, or stuff like that The baby blankets are going to a different neighbor's kid's school, who is arranging donations for...I think it's a particular city but I am not sure how to reveal what city without giving away where I live more precisely than I really want to? I live close enough to the flooding that I don't really need to work with an organization, because everyone in my neighborhood is at max two degrees of separation from someone who lost everything in the floods. I can give things, including baby blankets, directly to the families affected. I mean, that said, I am giving them to my neighbors to distribute, but that's because I can't drive and a lot of the places donations are going you can't drive to at the moment anyway. One of my neighbors is organizing people with ATVs to go take food, water, fuel, and other necessities up to some of the communities that currently have no road access I got very, very lucky with where I live and the infrastructure that happened to be in place*. There was severe flooding less than ten minutes away from where I live in more than one direction, but where I live made it and enough of the roads are intact to be able to get out. Some routes are more circuitous than they used to be, but it's still possible

*by happened to be in place I mean in my particular neighborhood and the work my dad has had done in our yard, not the rest, I know a lot of people over a lot of years made the infrastructure of the larger area
