It's starting to be more available now bc it's getting swept up in the health food craze but it's so annoying how ingredients/food that's traditional to the region is much harder to get than all the "exotic" food stuffs that are considered normal now

Unndilar 2nd, Byroden
Here we go again. Old habits, new excuses. And it was too easy, to follow the pull like an inevitability — a bowstring drawn. The hand that let the arrow loose (the hand that drew the string and held its tension like a rhetorical question) knows some lives weigh heavier than others.
As much as I long to keep my hands clean, I most fear letting people down who are relying on me to get them dirty.
“Maybe it’s my fault, maybe it’s my power.” I am a sister, and I am a coward. That’s just half bad.

[ID: A plate of leafy greens topped with two blue chicory flowers; second photo is a close-up on a flower. End ID]
هندبة بالزيت / Hinda b al-zayt (Palestinian wild greens with olive oil)
“هندبة” (“hindba”), “هِنْدِبَاء” (“hindibāʔ”), or هِنْدَب (“hindab”) is an Arabic word referring to chicory, wild endive, or dandelion greens.
Two Palestinian dishes are commonly made using hindba. One isهندبة بزيت (hinda b zayt), hindba with [olive] oil, which combines blanched greens with browned onion, lemon juice, and (of course) olive oil. Lebanese hindba is similar, consisting of greens prepared in the same way, but topped with sliced, caramelised onions. The other preparation of hindba is with a dressing made with tahina (tahini), lemon juice, chili, and sometimes garlic or yoghurt.
This recipe is for hindba with onion and olive oil. The dish is simple to make but has a lot going on, flavor-wise. Slow frying renders the onions tender, sweet, and jammy, balancing out the slight bitterness of the greens. The rich, peppery, fruity taste of good olive oil rounds out the earthiness of chicory, while lemon juice provides brightness and lift.
Several food aid organizations have been forced to discontinue operations in Gaza. Some of those still on the ground are:
Palestinian Red Crescent Society
World Central Kitchen
Anera
Ingredients:
2 bunches (130g) chicory or dandelion leaves
1 large yellow onion, chopped
Juice of 1 lemon
Olive oil
Salt, to taste
Tumblr media
Instructions:
1. Boil chicory in salted water for 5-7 minutes, until tender, then drain. If using dandelion greens, boil for 10 minutes. (The boiling water is potable, but probably too bitter to be palatable.)
2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet on medium-low. Add onion and a pinch of salt and fry until softened and golden brown, 10-15 minutes.
3. Squeeze the water out of the greens and chop into about 1/2" (1cm) pieces. Add to the pan and fry until wilted.
4. Taste and adjust salt. Add lemon juice to taste.
Serve hot or cold, topped with good olive oil. Eat hindba by scooping it up with khubbiz al-kmaj (pita).
Identifying chicory:
Common chicory (Cichorium intybus) is also in the Astaraceae family. Stems are grooved and slightly hairy; woody and branched; multiple flowers usually grow along one stalk. Leaves are smooth or irregularly toothed, pointed at the tip, and may have different appearances at different parts of the plant. The leaf midribs are green or reddish. The leaves you want are the larger ones growing in a bunch towards the base of the stem.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This plant has some leaves with larger teeth.
Tumblr media
Smaller, lanceolate leaves grow in alternate sides along the stem.
Flowers are light blue to lavender and finely toothed; there are two rows of darker bracts in the center of each flower.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In the fall, the leaves often remain while the flowers and stalks have died, leaving a brown, branching, skeletal structure behind.

Talking about Korean Translation stuff i did
Tumblr media
I made a Twitter thread just talking about some Korean Translation stuff I did, as well as just generally looking for people who might be interested in
Like, I should spend some time organizing my Translation portfolio, including some VN translation patches i made...
I did make Korean Captions for "Sparkle On Raven", as well as couple of other things like... *sigh* Homestuck stuff...
(also i need RobbyDude to upload the KR caption for the Halloween ep NYOWWW)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
More Video game translation examples!
Me and my team at the time created a Korean translation patch for Hiveswap Act 1 back in 2019 or so
The game was built in Unity, which we needed a bit of technical help from different translation teams to Decompile and recompile the files.
side from these I participated in a Fan made Korean Translation patch for the game "Night in the Woods",
as well as did some Official Editorial work for the Korean Translation of "Chicory: A Colorful Tale"
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
But yeah like, the point being,
If u want your work to reach more people in a completely different country, hit me up!
My per-word count is standard rate which is like, surprsingly affordable imo
Anyways ya CONSIDER ME FOR KR TRANSLATIONS LOL

Obscure Character Showdown FINALE
Tumblr media Tumblr media
[image ID: the first image is of image is of No Significant Harassment, a shadowy figure standing behind a sleeping pink-red, fox-like creature. their green hands seem to be holding up the floating creature. the second image is of Granger, a girl with green eyes and short, wavy or curly black hair. in her hair is a red hat or ribbon. she's wearing a black turtleneck sweater, blue overalls, and a green coat. end ID]
No Significant Harassment
[NSH has beaten Akama (The Idiot (1951)), Libby Day (Dark Places), Sally Swing (Betty Boop), Shrimp (The Upturned), Oopsy Bear (Care Bears (2007 series)), Hikaru (Hikaru ga Shinda Natsu), and Diggory Graves (Hello from the Hallowoods)] They're just a silly little guy. A jokester. Significant harassment if you will. Anyway, a more in depth run down: They're a city sized supercomputer built by a Buddhist adjacent society to figure out how to transcend the 'Great Cycle' (semi-metaphorical cycle of death and rebirth) in a safer way than the previous method (submerging oneself in the 'void sea' which is a mysterious golden liquid that dissolves whatever it touches). Despite being built for this express purpose NSH never really shows a pressing interest in ascension, even cracking jokes about those who are still looking for a solution. Whether this is due to indifference, dislike of, or humor to cope with being unable to ascend is not clear and really up to interpretation. Example: NSH: I wish them super good luck in that endeavor. How is it going to happen? Have the overseers gnaw through bedrock until their entire can crashes down in the void sea? BSM: Please be respectful when speaking of the Void Sea. Grey Wind, where did you hear this? CW: I really shouldn't say. He's going to attempt some sort of breeding program. Thought you might want to know. NSH: Haha with the slimers, lizards and etceteras? Surely the answer was in a lizard skull all along! He's very flippant, but does care very intensely for those close to him. NSH: Moon? It's me again. NSH: I do not know if you are receiving these. Please signal in any way you can. NSH: I need to talk to you. I need to know you're okay. NSH: … NSH: Its difficult for us to assist you over this distance. NSH: Even more difficult for us to do anything in the midst of these tantrums. NSH: Were going to try everything that we can. NSH: Just hold on a little longer. (Context for previous convo: They genetically engineered a super organism of a slugcat (the species you play as in Rain World) to help reset his coworker/sibling after her collapse and restart her systems. He was so desperate to fix her that he accidentally messed up the slugcat's (Hunter) genetic code and as a result it became riddle with the Rot (relatively similar to aggressive cancer) :( which parallels his other coworker/siblings condition who also has the rot. ) He canonically uses he/they pronouns too! Nonbinary swag! NSH has major internet troll vibes. He has sent a data pearl of "something distasteful" to his neighbors on several(?) occasions and causes chaos. If he had access to the wider internet he'd probably be an influencer So…yeah! Vote NSH this website likes the allure of heavy machinery and stuff like that so… there you go. Kind of a blorbo. End post.
Granger
[Granger has beaten Chopfyt (Oz), Wolfman (Darkwood), Gaap Goemon (Mairimashita! Iruma-kun), Forest Friend (Gris), Turnip (Chicory: A Colorful Tale), Gary (Faith the Unholy Trinity), and Stag Malinay (Krystar First Fragment)] so granger is the main character of the indie game "NeverHome" Chapter one, which is only $1 on Steam, is called NeverHome: Hall of Apathy. if ur a fan of young protags being put in RPG maker horror games, then this is the game for you!! so granger is just that… she wakes up to find herself in a strange, hostile world. she, along with the friends she makes, must solve the various puzzles before them while creatures are out to kill them… and along the way they can uncover the secrets of these never ending halls… her dynamics with the cast is also super fun… each character gets their moment or moments with granger. and what's so cute is that there's unique art for each pair that highlights the fact you cant get through these halls alone!! she also has her own theme song!! here!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d_vwtmIj5cw it's called cyclical tragedy AND HERE IS AN ANALYSIS OF THE THEME!! MUSIC THEORY!!! written by my good friend @HIEMIOLA "cyclical tragedy" embodies the protagonist, granger, through the music theory behind the track and ties itself back into the main track as well. to begin with an overview of the track, the key is D minor and hte time signature is 3/4. the piece begins with a broken minor third starting from the tonic. that is, it begins on the main note and moves along the main chord, D to F. the next set of notes are C to E, which is shifted down a step. the phrase repeats again, this time D to F, then G to E, which is an inverse movement from the original sequence. even in this first part, we could tell that the protagonist begins from square 1 with a simple pattern, then tries it again when it works. however, the inverse breaks that expectation of repetition, thus showing the diverse variations of solutions she comes up with using just the tools she has (the two notes moving in thirds). just like the game, she is given a handful of objects as well as a knife to defend herself and solve the mysteries of the world she exists in. with her creative uses of the items given to her, she continues on her way through the plot. we will keep moving. the melody begins. true to the title of the track, the melody cycles around the same beginning note, D, that she always returns to at her square 1. this is a nod to the save states she is allowed to keep to make sure that we the players don't lose the game, but it also references the health bar that appears as a circle around her avatar. the melody, mapped out, is also moving in an up-down wave movement across the sheet music. granger is creative with the knife she has and the quest items she obtains throughout the story, but she is not entirely reckless. rather, she knows when it is time to return to the safe rooms to rest. to time her returns requires skill because she must run to cover without being caught by varying her path so the enemies don't corner her as she tries to return to the room. most of the time, she is successful, shown through the consistent return to the beginning note. let's keep going. i would like to turn your attention to the main theme briefly. in the bass notes, you can hear arpeggios and outlined chords. this makes up the bulk of the accompaniment in the main game theme. [mod note: the rest of the essay, and some more propaganda, is continued under a cut because tumblr will not process more text than this in an indent. sorry to split it up, please continue below for the rest of the essay and additional propaganda (including art) !]
the third variation of granger's theme also has arpeggiated chords in the accompaniment while the melody features broken chords. at this stage, the pattern switches to eigth notes instead of the quarter notes at first. with greater movement and heightened senses, she runs throughout world and befriends other people, thus interacting further with the environment. while she isn't exactly someone we would call open, she is respectful to the people she first meets and has no problems with asking them for help when she needs it. because of her openness to working together, she speeds up her progress by asking for aid at obstacles that would be too difficult for her to overcome on her own, such as asking a teammate to break things, move things, or reach into smaller holes. fusing the main theme elements with her own theme marks this step as the inciting incident that sets her on the path to escape from this world. we'll continue.
continuing the same part, we hear some secondary fifths. i'm not entirely sure if this is what you call it, but it is a nod to the parallel key, D major. depending on what theory class you take, this could also be considered the other half of the key. i dont know how else to describe it, but i digress. these are glimpses to different dialogue options she could take, glimpses to a different key or a different ending. because this game only has one chapter ending so far, we are unsure of what other paths granger will end up in; we only know that there are certainly other endings she will experience, only to begin the cycle again when the save state is loaded for players to reach another ending. both A major and G major are chords that signify different choices that may lead her elsewhere only for her to return back to the tonic or main note, D. despite this, she keeps going, as will we.
at the midpoint of the track, we see a quick shift in patterns. instead of upward leaps in the notes, the melody falls in stepwise motion. true to the plot, this is another turning point of the game when she is forced to make a choice: continue or stop. after facing the spoiler event, her once determined personality is challenged as she struggles to keep herself and her team together. despite being the headstrong protagonist who spearheaded solutions, even now she finds herself doubting and taking smaller steps, smaller risks.
even after all of this, she rises to the challenge as the melody returns to its beginning sequence. true to a protagonist she gets up again despite the events that transpired and keeps her team moving in their lowest points. the thirds return as she finds more objects to solve more puzzles to open more rooms to save more friends. this repeating part of the track only solidifies her resolve as the piece ends with a broken chord in the main key, her key, of D minor. despite everything that transpired, she stayed true to herself."
the game is also so, so charming with the art, music, and story made by the same person… its so clearly loved and full of passion!! i love listening to the game's ost on occassion!! since it's all on youtube!
ok one last thing thing!! on may 8th, the game hit 100 downloads (on both steam and itch.io). you can see the creator of the game celebrate that with this lovely drawing of granger: https://twitter.com/NeverHome_Game/status/1655761270694633472
so at most, only a bit over 100 people have played the game… id like to say that makes it obscure!!
anyways granger and neverhome!! we love to see our protagonists put in horrific situations and isn't she super cute with a lil bow on her head? she is my daughter…

Game Assets Notes
These are plants shown in Dragon Age but aren't named in universe, just in their model files or through identification of the textures. Since most filler plant textures are just that of real world plants.
**NOTE:** When I mention they are not the known name of any plant, this comes with the caveat of being popular common names. Common names are highly variable and inconsistent. They depend on regional knowledge and association. Some travel farther than others. Common names are also not reliable identifiers.
Acacia: Black Wood ~ Note: Black Wood is a type of acacia. Both acacia and black wood are named assets.
Artichoke ~ Note: Identification comes from asset name, the artichoke flower is used as ornamentation of a box.
Banyan Tree
Boxwood ~ A type of shrub, identification comes from asset name.
Bradford Pear ~ Their fruits are edible, however their flowers are known to emit a smell akin to rotting meat. Identification comes from asset name.
Calla Lily ~ Note: Not named but identified by the texture used. It is seen in Val Royeaux planters.
Cattail ~ Note: Seen through out DAO and DAI, identification comes from asset name.
Coleus ~ Note: Not named but identified by the texture used. It is seen in Val Royeaux planters and in the Frostback Basin.
Crape Myrtle
Cypress: Italian Cypress, Topiary Cypress ~ Note: In terms of the Italian Cypress, in world it wouldl likely be called the "Antivan Cypress" given that Antiva is pulling from Italian culture, food, environments, and other inspirational elements. Cypress is a plant that is named in canon.
Daikon Radish ~ Note: Found on Dennet's farm, identification comes from asset name.
Dogwood
Elephant Ear ~ Note: Foliage found in the Frostback Basin, identification comes from asset name.
Fade Berry
Fern: Red Fern, Sword Fern ~ Note: The red fern isn't a real plant and therefore can be considered unique to Thedas. In contrast the sword fern is a real plant. Identification comes from the asset name for both of these ferns.
Forest Clover
Foxleaf ~ Note: This is another plant that is not real, no plant has this common name as far as I could find.
Gasbloom ~ Note: Seen in the Arbor Wilds, the Frostback Basin some elven ruins, and the elven ruins of multiplayer levels. Their identification comes from the asset name. There are two versions of the texture the "fixed" version is used in JoH dlc and thus explains the difference in appearance. This is not the name of a known mushroom.
Hero Tree
Palm: Curly Palm, Fan Palm ~ Note: Both palms are seen in the Frostback Basin, both are identified by their named assets.
Pear Cactus ~ Note: Found in the Frostback Basin, identification comes from the asset name.
Pine: Chir Pine
Ponga Tree ~ Note: Also known as the 'Tree Fern'. This is the tree you see in Val Royeaux garden as coming from Par Vollen, and throughout the Arbor Wilds.
Redwood ~ Note: Identified by the name of the file asset. Found in the Winter Palace, Exalted Plains, and on multiplayer maps.
Snapdragon
Trex
Waterweed ~ Note: In real life this is an entire genus not one particular plant. Though the six plants in this genus do share the common name of waterweed.
White Birch
Witchhazel
Additional Notes and Trivia
Ironwood - Unclear if this is an alternative name, the actual name of the plant, or both.
Morel - This mushroom is inferred due to the existence of Blighted Morel. However it is not explicitly specified there is a non-blighted morel.
Sponge Root - Though canonical as it is mentioned and shown in World of Thedas vol. 2 on pg. 138 with a collection of deep mushroom and surface mushroom illustrations. This mushroom was cut twice from Inquisition. It was cut from the base game as a craftable, it had a much different appearance from its final design, and then it was cut again from Trespasser. It does however still make an appearance in Inquisition as the inventory icon for Crystal Grace.
Unnamed Glowing Mushroom Is mentioned in multiplayer when there are two Lukas playing.
Unnamed Mushroom These brown mushrooms are seen in the Fallow Mire and the Frostback Basin. They are shown in two different sizes ranging from shorter than a dwarf to taller than one.
There is one unlisted mushroom, its assets is named "red mushroom" and thus is identified by textures. These is not a canon name but is included for completeness. Amanita Muscaria: More commonly know as fly agaric or fly amanita, the red top with white spots is an iconic in its imagery. You will find large swaths of these mushrooms in the Frostback Basin. Their assets is named "Red Mushroom".
Winterberry is a real plant. However, from what we see in DA2, it does not the same as the plant we have in the real world, just a shared common name.
Wormroot is another real plant name. However, due to the description in The Calling, it does not seem to be the same plant. In The Calling it is used to treat the venom of a giant spider. The real world plant is used to treat parasites in the gut and does not seem to hold any shared uses in folk lore, folk medicine, or western medicine practices.

After life as a not not spy working for the CIA, Derek is living a quiet life out of the way of the world miles outside a tiny mountain town. It's the kind of 'almost a hermit' living that helps heal some of the psychological and emotional wounds that are big enough to still wake him up at night. Then a stranger moves in to the only other cabin on the lake, shattering his years of solitude.
- - - - -
More irritating than the guy’s mere existence is how helpless he plays himself off as. It’s an inane, insane, kind of helplessness, always presented with wide smiles and a warm voice and a soft, self-deprecating laugh. Derek overhears him at the hardware store asking for help identifying lumber sizes (the stickers clearly say the dimensions). The same day he’s at the grocery store asking Selene, the elderly woman who runs a tiny yarn shop, where the coffee isle is and if they sell chicory (who the hell drinks chicory?). The next week at the local steak restaurant he overheard the guy refuse a menu and say, ‘Give me whatever you think is best on the menu’ (who does that?).

Chapter 49 is OUT and spoiler alert: Tommy finally feels a tiny little bit better and it's everything I've ever wanted T_T Also, Joel & Ellie snippet below:
She wants to go home. She’d give anything to be in the barn mucking those stalls right now, listening to the herd’s excited whinnies at the sound of the grain buckets. She’d step outside and see Main Street all strung up with Christmas lights and— She allows a warm current of memories from what feels like another lifetime to overtake her. Nights in the workshop with Tommy, the smell of cedar and leather salve as she puts the last finishing touches on the Christmas gifts. An early morning in the foothills in the spring, sitting atop a slab of sun-soaked red-rock, dangling her feet off the edge as Joel gets the camp stove burning, shooting the breeze with him. Long, slow afternoons on the front porch with Joel and Tommy and Maria and Gabe, still so little that Ellie can tuck him into the crook of one arm. It’s blustery and raining but the mug of rich chicory coffee in her hands is enough to chase away the chill. She can hear the creak of the porch swing and the little grunt of exasperation Joel gives in answer, because it won’t stop doing that no matter how many times he oils it— She draws a shuddering breath as she breaks the surface, extricating herself from the reverie. Turning her face into his shoulder, she loops her arms around his waist and hugs him hard. He chuckles, but it’s soft and strained, and he returns her embrace, tightening his grip when he feels the tremor of tears in her chest.

The (Real) Stardew Valley Farm
So a year and a half ago we bought a house, AKA the real life habitat ring. I swear the yard came with every single non-aquatic invasive plant we’ve got. Slowly but surely we’ve been murdering all the Japanese honeysuckle and poison hemlock, tearing up a truly inhumane amount of weed barrier and pea gravel, and adding truckloads of wood chips and other organic matter to start to repair the soil. Our goal is to replace everything with mostly native plants with an emphasis on food production.
But of course I needed more of a challenge. I love playing Stardew Valley. It’s really the only video game I play. And somewhere I got the idea, “Hey, wouldn’t it be cool to grow everything in Stardew Valley in our yard?” So here we are. Obviously I don’t live on some magical land with perfect weather, a giant greenhouse, and a second farm on a tropical island, so I have to make plenty of substitutions. I’m also trying to grow native plants whenever possible. Any suggestions are welcome!
2021
Amaranth - Native white amaranth (the birds love it!)
Grape - Native riverbank grapes (so many grapes) and some green cultivated variety from the neighbors
Dandelion - Obviously
Maple Tree - Native silver, red, and sugar maples (also an invasive Norway maple but we chopped it down)
Pine Tree - Not sure what kind of pines they are
Apple Tree - Not in great shape. I’d love an Enterprise apple tree at some point
Coffee Bean - Chicory (maybe that’s cheating, but it’s a naturalized plant commonly used as a coffee substitute)
Salmonberry - Not native to the Midwest, so we’re sticking with native black raspberries. We’ll likely add some pink/yellow raspberries later though
2022
Kale
Rhubarb
Strawberry - Both cultivated and native
Tulip
Radish
Tomato
Beet
Eggplant
Fairy Rose - Not a real thing so I substituted the native prairie rose
Cranberries - Native cranberry viburnum
Orange Tree -Native persimmons, which produce orange fruit
Daffodil
Spring Onion - Native nodding onions and also green onions indoors
Spice Berry - Native spicebushes
Wild Plum - Native
Hazelnut - Native
Crocus
Cherry Tree - Native black cherries and nonnative bush cherries
Tea Leaves - Native New Jersey Tea bush
Banana Tree - Native pawpaws, which are also known as Indiana bananas
Mango Tree - One of the pawpaws is a named variety called mango so I think that counts
Ginger - Attempted native wild ginger, which I don’t think survived, but am also growing ginger indoors
Green Bean
Sweet Gem Berry - Native Juneberry (Downy Serviceberry) which are a redish color
Planned for 2023
Blue Jazz - Not real so I went with the native Ozark Bluestar, which seems similar enough
Garlic
Parsnip
Apricot Tree - Native passionflower vine. Not a tree, but it is known as wild apricot
Blueberry
Sunflower - Both native and non-native sunflowers
Pineapple - Neither my spouse nor I like pineapples, so we’re going with white strawberries known as pineberries that are said to have a tropical taste
Pumpkin
Melon
Wild Horseradish - Except I’ll be growing it in a pot because it tends to get a little too wild for my tastes
Holly - Native winterberry holly
Oak Tree - Native dwarf chinquapin oak
Sweet Pea
Hot Pepper
Palm Tree - Obviosuly not going to work here but there is a native palm sedge that I’ll plant instead
Planned for 2024
Potato
Corn
Hops - Hoping to get a cutting from a native hops vine (if the local beer people don’t kill me)
Winter Root - I’m gonna go with native ground nuts because you can dig up the roots in winter
Poppy - Hopefully native wood poppy
Red Cabbage
Artichoke - Native Jerusalem artichokes
Cactus Fruit - Native prickly pear cactus
Yam
Bok Choy
Leek
Fiddlehead Fern
Blackberry
Crystal Fruit - I’m gonna go with honey berries, which produce fruit earlier than anything else
Ancient Fruit - Native Aronia berries are the only thing I can think of for this one. They’re blue(ish) and have lots of antioxidants so you live to be ancient
Figuring Out Substitutes
Rice
Wheat
Starfruit - Not really sure how to swing this one, so suggestions are welcome
Summer Spangle - Not real, so I’m open to suggestions of native plants. Possibly prairie lily? It has a similar-ish shape, is orange, and blooms in summer
Qi Fruit - Creepy little man
Taro Root - I would have to plant it in pots
Morel - I wish I could grow this
All the other mushrooms - I think I’ll just ignore any varieties and just try plugs or similar
Snow Yam
Cave Carrot - Trying to find a native carrot substitute
Coconut - I shouldn’t count this separately from palm trees, right?
Mahogany Tree
Peach Tree
Pomegranate Tree - There are Russian pomegranates that are hardy to zone 6, which just might work with climate change

Spell Jar for Weightloss Success
I've been seriously focusing on my health and losing weight, especially to start planning for trying to conceive with my husband, but one step at a time. I preformed this spell on Saturday(1), June 1st(2)
I couldn't find my bag of spices and herbs so I settled to use different types of tea for my ingredients.
Ingredients:
-Lipton Tea - Enticing Chai (Black tea, cinnamon, Allspice, ginger, black pepper, cloves)
-Traditional Medicinals- Organic Weightless Cranberry tea (fennel, red clover, uva ursi, parsley, cleavers, hibiscus, chicory root, cranberry, stevia)
-Pukka- Cleanse tea (nettle, fennel, peppermint)
-Lavender from a bridesmaid gift from a friends wedding two years ago.
-Coffee- Chock Full o' Nuts French Roast
Cleansed the jar and ingredients and area with sandalwood (I believe it was sandalwood) and Dragonsblood incense
Outside jar:
-An "energy" candle (bought at dollar tree)- Mandarin and Neroli scents- white
-Bourbon barrel pumpkin candle (from walmart)--orange
Accompanied stones used:
-Carnelian
-Blue Apatite
-Phantom Amethyst
-Green Aventurine
1)) Saturday is named after the planet and god Saturn. Therefore everything Saturn rules is appropriate for magick on Saturdays including self improvement and transformation, knowledge-seeking, time, evaluating one’s personal values, banishing negativity and bad habits, etc. Saturday Magic Correspondences: Magical Intentions: knowledge, values/morals, time, banishing, self transformation, psychic defense, meditation, locating lost items or people, self defense, liberation source ...Apprehension, Banishment, Binding, Boundaries, Caution, Cleansing,...Destruction of All that Does Not Serve,....Fortune, Freedom,...Hope, Limitations,...Longevity, Meditation, Overcoming Obstacles, Protection, Psychic Defense, Revealing Truth, Self-Discipline, Spiritual Communication source
2)) Why is the first of the month important in spellcasting? Truly, we can look at the first day of the month as being the door to the rest of the month. If we cast spells for prosperity and protection on this day, it starts us out on the “right foot” on this month’s journey, doesn’t it? Source

LORE DROP: THE PATRON OF MEDICINE
Before Chicory brought her Fallen and their terrifying ritual to bear upon StormClan, before Rotstar reinstated the Law of the Land, StormClan cats traveled freely as they pleased, some covering great distances in the spirit of their nomadic ancestry. In these wayfaring days between the Fallen's expulsion and Antlerstar's migration, the Clan made a reputation for itself as a meddling power in the Tallrock territories, medics especially prone to embarking on far-flung missions to help strangers and neighbors alike.
While many agree that the tale is not about her, Honeyglow was one such medic, hailed as the mother of gardens and the Patron of Medicine for the revolutionary techniques she brought back to her Clan.
Within the span between the triumphs of Snowfall and Hornbreaker and the horrors that drive Antlerstar to move the Clan away from Tallrock, the cunning Stingstar secures for StormClan moons of quiet peace. The same can not be said, however, of the cats living in Twolegplace, far to the south.
The little burg of Lislone is quiet enough for most who live there. Once a monastery, the community there is tight-knit and conservative, the people there keen to stay afloat on the fruits of their own labors where they can. The changing times have not, however, been kind to the people of Lislone, as enterprises in other places grew more lucrative and the demands for subsistence heavier in a shifting political climate. The introduction of trains - the high-speed rail to the east being what StormClan calls the Thunderpath - made life easier for some and harder for others, travel suddenly more accessible than ever before. Between the long-standing tradition of working cats and the deepening troubles of their caretakers, then, housecats facing neglect and abandonment was a growing problem. One of those cats, a tom named Hunter, thought to address it with his own claws by establishing a sanctuary, pulling his neighbors together into a community that looked after its own like the wild cats on the mountain. For a while, it worked; in the decaying walls of a long-abandoned and unfinished cinema, a project started by some hopeful artist who moved on before it was completed, Hunter and the town cats he inspired built a name for themselves as the "Cinema Club".
The Club thrived for a few seasons before the Twolegs caught on to what was happening. One report too many of kittens wandering around the theater windows, of scruffy strays scratching up would-be explorers, and before long a different order of Twolegs came to the cinema, armed with steel traps and collars appended to long poles. The Club cats couldn't have known the reasons for the invasion of their home, and the incident was remembered as only a tragedy, a punishment for daring to organize, punctuated by Hunter's name among the abductees. News of the event traveled, as it often does, and when the senior medic Honeyglow caught wind of it, she decided to do what many StormClan cats would have in those days: she packed up and went to help.
The Club had already dissolved by the time she got there. The remaining cats had scattered as soon as the coast was clear, as soon as the monsters had sped off with their friends and family inside, convinced that if they stayed at the Cinema, the Twolegs would come back for them. Of the precious few who remained was Hunter's mate, a loner named Mouse. In Hunter's absence, the remaining cinema cats turned to him, but Mouse was at a total loss; where could they possibly go?
This was where Honeyglow found them, a pawful of loyal found family seeking sanctuary wherever they could find it, never staying in one place for too long, and deeply grieving their stolen family. She became a pillar of support for them, helping them treat their wounds - though medicine was something Mouse himself had a remarkable skill with, even if the methods he used were in many ways utterly unheard of to a Clan cat - and encouraging them to try to find another sanctuary. Honeyglow spent most of her final seasons before retirement in Twolegplace, to the point some back home believed she'd joined the cats of Lislone entirely.
Mouse, Honeyglow, and their fellows put their heads together to seek a solution that would provide the cinema cats with the security they needed to rebuild, and after moons of experimenting, exploring, and debating, they settled it: if the cinema cats kept moving, the Twolegs wouldn't have the chance to come after them again. From there the task became a matter of scoping out the camps and hide-aways they would rotate between - the cinema on the east side, the disused park to the northeast, the scrapyard to the south, and a decaying barn in the northwest.
What came next was out of Honeyglow's aging paws, but she was deeply honored to be included. Mouse, finding his own confidence as a leader with time, championed all manner of novel strategies to make the lifestyle work. The cinema cats - park cats now - started borrowing from the Twolegs in all sorts of ways. They foraged nuts and berries to feed the birds and mice they hunted; they stripped the seeds from their medicines to plant in the ground; they pilfered all manner of tools and trinkets discarded by the Twolegs to repurpose for their homes. Honeyglow watched and marveled as they made stretchers, boiled water, started stitching their wounds. She lent her own knowledge of wildcraft where she could, but by the end of it, Honeyglow knew they didn't need her anymore.
What secured her legacy was not her part in helping the cinema cats rebuild and thrive, but in what she carried home with her. StormClan didn't take well to many of the things she'd learned by watching them in Twolegplace, but there was one practice that stuck: gardening. In the years that followed Honey's retirement and eventual passing, the green arts she had brought to her Clan made the difference between life and death, prevented permanent injuries and terrible infections for countless cats. Though it did not come until well after her time, Honeyglow was before long the name on the lips of gardeners throughout StormClan's future as they prayed for her guiding paws and nourishing touch to their crops, as they still do today.
