This is another fic that I'm re-reviewing after having not read it in a long time. First of all, this is just such a beautiful concept. I mean, it actually made me tear up in places. It's kid!lock, but it follows Sherlock and John through a large portion of their lives until they meet at the canon time in the show. Sherlock's tiny irritation in the beginning is so adorable, and I love how John was characterised as a quiet, imaginative boy who lays in bed at night and makes his own worlds to play in. The idea of him drawing something out of his chest that he kind of instinctively knows is his soul is really well done. I won't spoil the ending, but what he does with his soul and what Sherlock learns from a talking penny is just perfect, perfect, perfect. Read this one. You'll love it.

The concept is adorable and interesting and I'd love to read more along those lines.

Sherlock's curiosity is natural although I find his methods a little ... questionable. Like, when his power cord broke, he could've just asked John. Or, you know, not broken the cord and just asked John.
