exam - Jegulus microfic - @into-the-jeggyverse - word count: 334
“Mister Potter,” Slughorn said gravely, sitting at his desk and staring at James with a very concerned expression, “I need you to be very honest with me.”
James resisted the urge to grin as he replied, “Of course, Professor. I’m always honest with you.”
The older man rolled his eyes. “Potter. Did you cheat on this exam?” He brandished a roll of parchment at him– their latest NEWT-level test.
James gaped. “No!” he said truthfully. “I didn’t! Why, did I–?”
“You got a ninety-nine percent,” Slughorn cut him off, still looking very suspicious. “Mister Potter, you’re very intelligent, please do not misunderstand. But you scored the same as Miss Evans and Mister Snape. I think you can see why I’m a bit confused.”
He blinked, thinking about all of the times he’d sat with Regulus in the library, staring off into the distance as the younger boy read huge Potions books under his breath. James just loved listening to Regulus speak, but perhaps there had been some practical advantage to all of that… “Right. Er, yeah, I…found a study partner,” he said awkwardly.
Slughorn tilted his head. “Well, you’ve never cheated before. But just to be sure, will you consent to taking the next test with an anti-cheating quill?”
“Sure!” James nodded. “Can I go now?” He wanted to see Regulus.
Squinting his eyes, the Professor dismissed him.
“Reg!” James said a few minutes later, slightly out of breath, finding his boyfriend in the library. “You’ll never guess what Slughorn accused me of!”
“Stealing from his personal stores again?” the younger boy drawled, not bothering to look up. “You need to be a bit more careful, James, you and your friends are ridiculously obviou-”
“He thought I was cheating on my test because I got a ninety-nine percent,” James burst out, beaming. “Because I like to listen to you read.”
At this, Regulus looked up. After a moment of stunned silence, he burst out laughing. “Oh, I can’t wait to tell Sirius,” he chuckled.

The Longer the Wait, The Sweeter the Kisses
Requested Nam-gyu Fluff~
Warnings: Cursing, slight smut but not much (they don’t go all the way), mentions of drug use, overdose, and recovery.
Summary: Your friend Mi-na is tired of you third wheeling her and Thanos so she has him set you up on a date with his friend Nam-gyu. Surprisingly you and Nam-gyu really hit it off. So much so you invite him to your place, but what happens when you guys start making out/touching each other and you inform him that you won’t go all the way ?
P.S. This one’s a bit long… I apologize I got carried away haha
————
Thanos and Mi-na were cuddling on the couch while you were sitting in the arm chair beside them. He booped her nose with a blue colored finger nail, “You’re so cute.”
She giggled touching her forehead to his, “You’re so handsome.”
“And I so want to kill myself right now.” You murmured, scrolling through your phone.
In the background you saw Mi-na’s head turn towards you. “I told you it was just gonna be Thanos and I this weekend. You’re the one who invited yourself, remember ?”
You scrolled mindlessly on Instagram, “Yeah, but I didn’t think you guys would be like this.”
“It’s called being in a relationship.” She remarked and you snorted, “Gosh, thats what I have to look forward to ?”
“I used to think that way too until I met my soul mate.” You heard their lips smacking and immediately felt sick.
“Ewww, if I ever get like that shoot me. Please.”
Thanos chuckled and your friend giggled rolling her eyes, “When are you going to get a boyfriend y/n ? You’re old enough to drink why don’t you go to the bar and find one, you’ll get one asap.”
“Yeah… there are several reasons why I would never do that, plus I think what you’re describing is a hook up not a boyfriend.”
She huffed, “Well maybe you need a hookup, you’re like always a negative nancy.”
You looked up from your phone and glared at her for a second before looking back at your screen.
“See ! That’s what I’m talking about.” Mi-na said.
“Oh !” She put a hand on her boyfriend’s shoulder, “Baby, why don’t you set her up with one of your friends ?”
You immediately clicked your phone screen off and shoved it in your pocket, “Fuck no.”
Thanos looked over at you confused and Mi-na furrowed her eyebrows at you and tilted her head towards Thanos basically telling you your being rude.
You awkwardly laughed, “I’m sorry, that came out wrong… it’s just I’ve seen Thanos’s instagram. All him and his friends do is drugs, drink, and party. That’s not my scene, I need someone more-“
You were about to say mature but bit your tongue, “-what’s the word I’m looking for… umm- mellow I guess ?”
Thanos nodded his head in understanding, “Everyone has there preferences.” He shrugged.
“What about Nam-gyu ?” Mi-na asked Thanos with a smile on her face, “Didn’t he just make 3 months sober ?”
Thanos raised his eyebrows, “Oh yeah, I guess I do have a mellow friend.”
“He’s an ex addict ?” You asked, not very surprised since it is Thanos’s friend.
“Yup, he almost died of a heroine overdose a few months back and has been clean from drugs and drinking ever since.” He grinned, “I’m proud of him.”
“I’m sorry did you say- Heroine ??”
Thanos nodded, “Yeah, I’m surprised heroine was the one that got to him. He was on all sorts of things: cocaine, ecstasy-“
Mi-na put both her hands on his shoulders, “Alright babe, he can fill her in, you don’t have to give her his whole backstory.” She raised her eyebrows at him and you knew that look too well, she was basically telling him to stop talking. “You’ll scare her off before she even goes on the date.”
“Yeah because if there’s nothing better than an addict, it’s a recovering one.” You muttered.
She crossed her arms, “Okay, so now he’s too mellow ?”
“No.” You narrowed your eyes at her, “I would love someone who doesn’t drink or do drugs but Mi-na he’s in recovery.”
“And ?”
“And ?! What if he relapses ? I don’t want to be somebody’s mom.” You spat, crossing your arms as well.
Mi-na pulled out her phone, “I think you’ll change your mind once you see a picture of him. He’s really cute.” She glanced over at her boyfriend, “I’m saying in the sense that she would find him cute, I know her type pretty well by now.”
She tossed her phone to you, “He’s the one in the white t-shirt.”
“Oh yeah, I recognize him, he’s the one that’s always holding onto Thanos whenever Thanos posts pictures of him and his friends.”
“He’s not always holding on to me ?”
You turned the phone so they could see the screen, “Dude he’s literally hugging your arm and his head is resting on your shoulder.”
Thanos looked at the phone, “It was cold that day.”
Mi-na laughed grabbing her phone, “Anyways, he’s single, sober, and cute. He’s perfect for you y/n.”
You pursed your lips, you were pretty lonely. You had friends but they all had partners which made it hard for you to hang out unless you wanted to third wheel like you are now.
“I mean… he is kind of cute I guess.”
Mi-na shrieked, “Yay ! Thanos will send him your number.” She kissed her boyfriend on the cheek and clapped her hands in excitement, “If this works out, we could even go on double dates !”
————
You and Nam-gyu had texted back and forth for a few days now, planning to have your first date this weekend. You suggested getting coffee and Nam-gyu loved the idea saying that he knows the perfect spot and sent you the address.
Once there, you spotted him sitting down. “Hey Nam-gyu right ?”
He looked up from his phone and smiled, quickly putting it away. “Yes and you must be y/n.” He stood up and gave you a friendly hug.
You felt yourself blushing from the contact, you knew he was touchy feely with Thanos but figured it was because they were friends.
He smelled of the ocean mixed with amber and you could tell from how healthy the ends of his hair looked he recently got a haircut.
“You’re going to love this place. It has everything: coffee, teas, desserts. It’s amazing.”
When you guys got to the front, the cashier asked what you guys wanted. Nam-gyu answered it fairly quickly, not giving your eyes much time to scan the menu above you.
After the cashier entered his order she looked at you, “umm-“ You made eye contact with Nam-gyu, “What would you recommend ? I’m more of a coffee person but there’s so many options.”
“Hmm… do you like your coffee more on the bitter or sweet side ?”
“Sweet.”
He smiled, “Then I’d suggest their Carmel Macchiato. It’s sounds boring, I know, but for your first time being here I’d start with that, it’s really good.”
You nodded your head and turned your attention back to the cashier, “I’ll get a small Carmel Macchiato please.”
“Okie dokie.” She typed in your order and then smiled while reading out your total.
Nam-gyu pulled out a twenty dollar bill and told her to keep the change, “Thank you.” She said, “We’ll call your order out when it’s ready.”
You guys walked over to a table and sat down across from each other, “Thank you for buying my coffee.” You blushed.
“Oh yeah of course.”
You rubbed your hands together under the table feeling them sweat. You haven’t been on a date in a while and have never had an actual boyfriend before so this was all new to you.
“How did you and Thanos meet ?” You asked, trying to ease your nerves by getting him to talk.
“I used to work at this club downtown and the owner of the club would always let him come in for free because it would attract more people to his club. After a while of being there, Thanos and I got familiar with each other and one day he asked me if I knew anybody who sold drugs. I hooked him up with one of my buddies and we started doing them together, the rest is history.”
You weren’t expecting him to be such an open book but felt yourself slowly becoming more comfortable around him, he seemed like a chill guy.
“One Americano and one Carmel Macchiato.”
“That’s us.” Nam-gyu said, he went over to the counter and grabbed your coffees. When he came back he handed you your drink and you thanked him.
“You wanna go take a walk ?” He asked.
“Sure.” You grinned, following him outside.
You actually preferred this, walking side by side instead of sitting down and looking at each other face to face. It took a lot of the pressure off and you found yourself talking a lot more than you thought you would.
He told you about his battle with addiction and how it nearly killed him. You felt bad for judging him so harshly when Thanos and Mi-na told you about it.
Getting his side of the story made you realize that he wasn’t just a a sleazy guy who drank and did drugs to have fun, he had past trauma that he was dealing with. Now that he’s sober, he told you he’s found better ways to cope like going to therapy and exercising.
He finished his drink first, throwing it away and a few minutes later you finished yours, throwing it in a trash bin as well.
You only knew him for about 30 minutes but already felt safe with him, like he was a long time friend.
“So…” you stopped walking and finally faced him making eye contact, “What now ?” You asked with a smile.
He returned the smile, “I really enjoyed our date and would like to continue it but it’s up to you. We can hang out another time if you’re busy.”
It was weird, you felt special for the first time in a while and that excited you. You didn’t want this date to end anytime soon either.
You bit your lip, “I had fun too.” You said, rocking back and forth a bit. “Would it be odd of me to ask you to hang out at my place ?”
“No, not at all.”
————
When you got to your place, Nam-gyu removed his jacket and you told him he could hang it up on the coat rack. He wore a brown tank top underneath his jacket and, every now and then, you caught yourself stealing glances of his veiny arms; and at the way the material would outline his chest and abdomen.
You guys continued chatting on the couch as you guys tried to find something to watch on Netflix. You ended up settling on a comedy that neither of you have seen yet.
He clicked a button to play the movie, setting the remote down on the arm rest next to him and then threw his other arm over the couch.
A thought popped into your head of scooting over and leaning into his side, but you knew that would be kind of weird. Then again, it seems that Nam-gyu’s love language is physical contact so maybe he wouldn’t mind ?
You casually scooted yourself over and Nam-gyu’s head turned. You looked up to meet his eyes, “Is this okay ?” You asked, scooting into his side and placing a hand on his chest.
He nodded, “Yeah I don’t mind.” His hand dropped to around your shoulders as he went back to watching the movie.
You tried watching the movie as well, you really did but all you could think about was his body against yours. The heat radiating off of him made you want to snuggle into him more like a weighted blanket.
Half way through the movie, you were able to concentrate on the plot a little bit, until Nam-guy’s thumb began rubbing back and forth on your arm. It was a simple gesture and you were pretty sure he was doing it unconsciously but it made the inside of your stomach fill with butterflies.
When the movie was over, Nam-gyu looked over at you. “It was alright, I thought it was kind of funny, how about you ?”
You turned and made eye contact with for a split second before licking your lips and attaching them to his. You were surprised by your hunger for him and you could tell he was shocked as well by the way he didn’t react for a few seconds.
When he reciprocated the kiss, you positioned your body on top of his. Your knees on either side of his legs, as your hands went to his hair.
His hands made their way to your hips pulling you closer into him and you moaned. Pulling away from him, you ripped your shirt off over your head, throwing it to the floor before reattaching your mouths.
His cold fingers snaked up your back, unclipping your bra. Once done, you threw it to the floor as well. One of his hands cupped your breast and you broke the kiss leaning your head against his.
“You okay ?” He whispered.
“Yeah.” You breathed, “But…”
He removed his hand from your breast, waiting for you to finish.
You sighed, “I know I’ve only known you for less than a day and I really like you.” You watched as your hands trialed down his chest, “And don’t get me wrong I really like what we have going on right now.”
You looked him in the eyes, he was smiling listening to you. “But I’m also not the kind of person to hook up with someone after just meeting them. I want to get to know you better before we get to that point.”
His hand cupped your face, caressing it with his thumb. “I respect that. Since my sobriety I’ve made a rule for myself as well, to not hook up with anybody unless we are dating. I’ve been doing good so far but I’ll be honest if you hadn’t stopped, I don’t think I would’ve stuck to it.” He blushed biting his lip.
You giggled, “I like that rule, I think I’ll adopt that as well.”
He smirked, “Does this mean cuddling is off the table too ?”
You rolled your eyes at his silly question, “Off course not.” You smiled before wrapping your arms around his neck and sinking into him. He interlocked his hands behind you while resting his head on your shoulder.

It’s not a perspective. Cait and Vi didn’t have different goals in that scene. Also, not every scene that sets up joining forces has to literally spell out that’s the intent of the scene. I honestly don’t get your insistence that everything be spelled out for you like you’re a child.
I’m also clearly going to have to explain foreshadowing to you. Foreshadowing is a literary and story telling device that is used to plant an idea in the reader’s/viewer’s mind for later. Introducing the idea that Piltover and Zaun had joined forces before was placing that idea in the viewer’s head.
You are very much reaching with your analysis of Ambessa just being there to raise tensions. You seem to not grasp how stories develop. In interesting, multifaceted stories like Arcane characters don’t show up with a moist ache to twirl indicating evil intent. That doesn’t mean it’s bad storytelling for them to become the major villain. That’s good storytelling, actually. That said, someone familiar with tropes and story structure could easily predict that she was going to become the new big problem.
Again, you keep acting like every bit of setup had to be super explicit in spelling out the two sides were going to fight together and that, if it didn’t it means that wasn’t the plan. That’s not how writing works. You’re supposed to be able to put all of the pieces together.
That said, they pretty explicitly showed where the use of hextech could lead without nuance in the second episode, so acting like that wasn’t set up as a major threat frankly feels intellectually dishonest. Sure, at the time we maybe thought Heimerdinger was being an alarmist, but everything that happened with hextech from that point forward drove the plot more toward that point he warned about. Even when they spell things out for you as clearly as they can, you don’t want to see it.
As for agency, season two was very much the “find out” part of “fuck around.” What happened with Viktor was a result of his dangerous experiments with hextech. If he hadn’t done that, Jayce wouldn’t have been able to use the hex core to heal him. Him and Jayce going their separate ways was the consequence of Jayce weaponizing hextech. The anomaly was the consequence of Piltover overusing hextech. Ambessa’s ability to take over was the consequence of Jinx blowing up the council. Season two was where characters had to deal with the consequences of the choices they made in season one.
None of these consequences were forced. Yes, they had big fantasy/Sci Fi fallout, but that’s because the show is Sci Fi/fantasy. That tends to be what happens in the genre. You could easily replace the implications and fallout of hextech with nuclear power or similar technical advancements that created massive problems in the real world, and an imperial power like the US, or Noxus in the show, taking advantage of social and political division in a smaller country to try to control its land and resources is a common refrain throughout history.
You’re right, the arcane isn’t the main focus. The main focus also isn’t the political strife. Both are devices used to tell the story of the characters. The show is not about Piltover versus Zaun. The show is about how that conflict has shaped the characters. Feel free to read my other posts on the subject.
Not sure wha t your Warwick point is. Yes, he is there to retraumatize Vi in the end. Yes, his agency is taken away. That would be the tragedy right there.
As for Mel continuing the cycle, that’s up for interpretation, I guess. I think the cycle she’s specifically breaking there is the one where “Medarda’s only take.” She ended the cycle where her family raises itself up by taking from others.
Your argument against the acceleration rune doesn’t make sense because the device that could only be made with it was Ekko’s which was, in fact, the difference. Pointing out how everything else is the same actually hurts your argument there.
Also, a big lipped alligator moment is something that comes completely out of nowhere and serves no purpose. Neither of those describe Viktor and Jayce. Do they have to explain the exact mechanics of what happened? Would stopping to go into some technobabble have made the show better? Because we always pay close attention to characters doing that in media right? We’re really in it for the made up technobabble.
Your desire for the show to end in a civil war makes it neither better writing nor what the show initially intended. You like to reference what actually happened in the Jayce Silco scene to try to say it wasn’t foreshadowing (again, because I can only assume you don’t know what foreshadowing is)? What did Jayce say would happen if they actually went to war with each other? Zaun would have been crushed. Yes, it would have been a blood bath on both sides, but a Piltover army with hextech and the Noxians would have either won or would have claimed victory and been dealing with insurgent attacks from Zaun for the foreseeable future.
There would be no reconciliation at all unless the show wanted to really abandon one of the ways it was most grounded, which is how violence and vengeance feed each other. There’s a reason why, after most revolutions and wars throughout history, the country is drawn into another war pretty quickly after. One conflict breeds another.
There’s a reason why regions like the Middle East are seemingly caught in endless cycles of violence—because people don’t generally forgive losing a war easily, because wars are costly in lives and resources, and because generational traumas and wrongs often come back to haunt us. Even if the war ended with a miraculous agreement on both sides to lay down arms, there will be people who lost family who will still want justice—to feel that their loved one’s death meant something.
If, however, people’s loved ones died fighting together, that’s a powerful reason to try to make a positive change. Because, again, people want the sacrifice to mean something. It supposedly partly why Britain and other European countries established services like the NHS after WWII. After living through the Blitz and the destruction, it made them want to create a better future.
You keep complaining that the show largely drops the class conflict story after episode four, and that would be a problem if that was what the show was about. However, given the show is about the characters and episodes five and six are mostly about bringing Jinx and Vi and Vi and Caitlyn back together, it made sense to narrow the focus back down to that family unit. The conflict is still there in the background—it’s in the tragedy of Vander, Silco, and Felicia. It’s in the fact that Noxus and Piltover feel entitled to take Vanwick, but it’s not the focus.
I’m honestly not a huge fan of episode seven, because I’m not a huge fan of TimeBomb, but that was an interesting take on what else could have helped bridge the divide between Piltover and Zaun—the tragic loss of a child and the loss of the technology that further drove Piltover and Zaun. The episode is about the class conflict in the sense that it introduces a world mostly without it, showing that, just like it’s possible to have “good” versions of Jinx/Powder, it’s also possible to have a works where Piltover and Zaun have peace. That was the lesson Ekko took away from his AU adventure, to not give up on a better world—that things aren’t “too far gone.”
I also find your point about Jayce not talking to Viktor weird…you do get that he wasn’t really in his right mind there, right? We also can’t say for sure what would have happened if he hadn’t shot him. Maybe the fallout would have been worse. Maybe Viktor would have made more followers so that there were even more dolls when it came to a head. But, again, Jayce wasn’t in the mental state to have a rational discussion right then.
The conflict does come back in the last two episodes because it is somewhat a question of whether or not Zaun will help—which would be Piltover suffering the consequences of its actions. Now, you’re right, arguably the question would be what choice did they have in the end, but that’s again honestly true to many real life conflicts. You’re stuck working with the lesser of two evils.
As I said, what would have been completely unrealistic would have been if everyone hugged and kissed and had a huge barbecue together with fireworks after the Noxians left. We know from history that old prejudices often return once the battle is over—take how Black soldiers were treated in the US after…I was going to say WWII, but really every American war.
I also honestly can’t help other people deciding Sevika being on the council is supposed to be a resolution instead of a first step. It was clearly not framed as a resolution with everyone sharing mistrusting looks and her looking, frankly, uncomfortable. If people decide to be obtuse and not read the overt visual language of the show, that’s a them problem.
And guess what? The show isn’t about class conflict. Yes, it’s an essential element, a major theme, and vital context. It is not what the show is about. Just like unchecked scientific progress is a theme, but not what the show is about.
You bring up what Silco said about the cycle continuing. My point is not about how all violence will always and forever be no more; it’s about how these specific characters are breaking their cycles. Again, this show is about the characters first, which is why it makes sense that they didn’t solve class inequality in a year. It’s about these characters and their stories.
Really, though, much of this conversation has strayed from the original point, which is that this was the direction that was set up in the first season. You may not like it. You may have wanted it to go another way. But it was, in fact, set up. The memory Heimer has of the horrible fallout from Arcane is essentially what happened. They deliberately planted the seed (which, again, is the purpose of foreshadowing—not explicitly stating what’s going to happen next, that’s just exposition) that the thing that originally brought the cities together was a common enemy. They had this conversation one episode after Ambessa, a war monger from an imperialist nation, was introduced.
Even if the show did what you wanted and went with a civil war, there’s a very good chance it would have developed into Piltover and Zaun versus Noxus anyway. Cait/Jayce would be trying to stop the war on Piltover’s side, but Ambessa would refuse to give up the fight and leave with nothing. This would have caused Noxus to turn on Piltover, and then it would have been up to Zaun to either help or let them take each other out first and then fight the survivors. Maybe that would have been better. I personally would be asking, “Hey, what happened to the existential threat posed by hextech that was also being built up in the first season?” But maybe you’re fine with dropping the whole “arcane” bit of arcane.
“What happened to rebel Vi? Season 2 destroyed her character!”
“What happened to rebel Vi” is that Vander took her to the bridge where her parents died in his revolution and asked her what she was willing to lose. Then she meets Cait who is gentle and kind while still being tough and it makes her rethink how she sees topside. When Jinx tells her she changed too, that’s what she’s talking about.
I’m sorry if you thought Vi was going to be a topside-hating revolutionary in Season 2, but that’s clearly not where her character arc was going. Remember how she forced her way between Ekko and Cait? It seemed very straightforward that was the role her character was taking on.
I feel similar about people who act like the show was betraying its premise because it ended with reconciliation/Zaun and Piltover working together. Again, the fact that two of the most important relationships were between characters from both sides and that they made a point of talking about Zaun and Piltover first coming together against a common enemy was a pretty clear indicator that was the plan.
Now, I get being annoyed that that was what they chose to do. You don’t have to love the creative decisions of media, just like media doesn’t have to compromise its creative direction to satisfy you. But not liking that they went that direction is not the same as the show having bad writing or engaging in character assassination.
Everything Vi did in season 2 was very much in character with how she changed and who she became throughout Season 1. Hell, she used enforcers and Hextech to raid Shimmer facilities before Commander Kiramman ever threw on a beret. So, yes, actually wearing the uniform was a huge and complicated decision that she was definitely not happy about, but it also fell in line with what she had been doing.
There’s meat for another post at some point about the three different Zaun/enforcer partnerships we see in the show: Vander/Greyson, Silco/Marcus, and Cait/Vi; but I’m not going to go into that now.
TLDR: “Rebel Vi” who wants to fight all of topside hasn’t existed since the end of the second episode of the show.
Editing to add that Vi doesn’t see attacking Chem Barons as attacking Zaun; she’s taking down the people who are destroying Zaun.

order #10, sugar with whipped cream, sprinkles, chocolate drizzle
*ੈ✩‧₊˚ opening old wounds II
summary: ruggie's first love is leona's new fiance(e) tropes: royalty au, hurt/comfort, exes to lovers characters: ruggie additional info: romantic, gender neutral reader, reader is not yuu
Tumblr media
"This isn't going to work,"
Leona rolls his eyes for the umpteenth time. "Since when are you so picky? It's not like you to reject free stuff,"
Ruggie crinkles his nose, looking down at the outfit Leona had "thrown together" for him. "Maybe to sell, but not for me... it's scratchy,"
"It's my old ceremonial robes, and it's what you're getting. Now shut your trap before you get us both in trouble,"
He sighs, dragging his feet behind Leona as he leads him through the darkened halls of the palace. The guards are quiet and imposing as ever, sharp eyes following the prince and his servant.
Ruggie is thankful when they finally make it outside, away from the prying eyes of the palace staff, but they're still the least of his worries.
"I don't like this,"
"Yeah, you've told me about a million times. But you and I aren't accomplishing anything if you keep whining,"
"Why do we have to accomplish anything, anyway! I like my job here!" Ruggie insists, his heart racing as they get closer to the gardens.
Leona gives him a wayward glance. "You really wanna be stuck here forever?"
He has nothing to say to that. Leona grunts and stops in front of a wall, covered in blooming flowers and vines. The night is mild, with a warm breeze, and the stars are out. It's the perfect time and place for a romantic rendezvous... unless you're Ruggie.
"Don't look so nervous. It's just a date. They're not gonna eat you,"
"That's not really what I'm worried about,"
Leona rolls his eyes (again) and gives Ruggie a boost over the wall. "See 'ya later. Don't screw this up,"
And then he's gone, and it's just the sky, the flowers, the soft sound of running water, Ruggie, and... you.
You look good.
Ruggie bites his lip at the thought. Why is this so hard?!
His grandma always told him that time heals, but how can he be sure of that? What if he's just tearing off the bandage and opening old wounds?
You were perfect. You were then, and you are now.
And he's... well, he's himself.
"It's you,"
Ruggie hadn't even noticed you, the way you noticed him. He'd been caught between memories (crushed between them, really).
Still, he forces himself to grin.
"Yeah. I hope you weren't expecting a prince or anything,"
You smile back. It's friendly, but cold. Enough to send a shiver through his body, anyway.
"Not really. I still recognize your handwriting, you know,"
Oh. Right. "Shishi... should have guessed,"
"You wanted to see me?"
That question, simple as it was, leaves him at a loss for words. Did he want to see you? He wasn't quite sure yet.
"...Uh, yeah. I thought you might wanna... talk,"
"About us,"
He nods. You were always good at that- reading him. Even when he didn't want to be read.
You take a seat on an ornately carved stone bench. It smells like Leona- damn it, that's why he picked this place for your date? Because he naps here?!
Ruggie sits on the grass.
"How have 'ya been? I mean- pretty good, huh? Marrying a prince and all that," he says, flicking a beetle off his shoulder. "Must be pretty exciting."
"I guess so..."
You sound kinda bummed out, he thinks. Damn curiosity...
"What's with the face? Isn't this what you always wanted?"
"I never said that,"
"You never had to,"
He crosses his arms and leans against the bench, looking anywhere but at you- the grass, the walls, the starry sky...
Ruggie didn't always believe in all that stuff about the old kings in the stars, but he did then. And he asks them, is there any way I'll get out of this with my dignity?
The silence holds until you speak again.
"It was nice,"
Ruggie smiles, if only a little. "It was, huh?"
Thoughts of hot summer mornings, when you were both younger, when Ruggie served at your palace instead of Leona's. Warmed by the sun and each other's company. His jokes, your laugh, both of your hopes and dreams becoming one.
"It was never gonna last, though,"
"You said that," you say, drawing your knees to your chest. "But how are you so sure?"
Ruggie shrugs. "Cause guys like me don't get people like you. Even if I stayed, you woulda been married off to some prince or duke or something, and I woulda been left in the dust, anyhow,"
"So that's why you left,"
He shrugs again. You furrow your brow and look at your lap, thinking, but not speaking. It goes on like this for some time.
"Don't worry," he's the first to speak. "Leona is real nice. He seems a little scary at first, but he's secretly a big softie."
You smile, again, if only a little.
"I don't want to marry the prince,"
What a thought. A million people would kill for your life, your position. To marry into a royal, stinking rich family. He almost giggles at the absurdity of it.
"And why's that?"
"Because I want you,"
Ruggie finally looks at you. Damn it. Damn your ability to read him, to know just what he's thinking.
"I still do," you say, hands in your lap. "I never stopped thinking that you'd come back, you know. When I saw you here, I..."
"Don't say that,"
You look back at him. He crosses his arms. "You can't say that to me. You're making me... you just... don't say those things,"
"But I-"
"Don't make me fall in love with you again," he says. "I'll get tossed aside no matter what. We both know that."
You stand, suddenly, and look down at him with your own arms crossed.
"Don't you dare say those things about me. I didn't ask to be born into this life as much as you didn't ask to be born into yours. I hate that you still think of me like that- like I'm some villain! Is it so hard to believe that I care about you? That you're not just some affair to me? I would call off the engagement with Leona right now. All you have to do is ask,"
Ruggie stares, wide-eyed, speechless again. There are many thoughts going through his head now, and though some are terribly corny, most are even even worse than that- they're hopeful.
"What will it take for you to trust me, Ruggie?"
He stands, slowly, meeting your gaze with his own.
"You'd really throw that all out for me?"
"Yes,"
You sound so... decisive. Affirmative. As if the answer is obvious.
Ruggie looks at his feet, if only to think, and you tilt his chin up with two fingers to bring his gaze back to the stars.
"Just say the word,"

There is No Law that Emperors Must be Fair

Emperor ! Jing Yuan x Princess ! Reader
Chapter 19 | Not As It Seems
You are set to marry the Emperor, Jing Yuan. In order to break the engagement, you stage an accident and fake having amnesia. But now, your own cruel, cold, and distant fiancé, who seemed to not want anything to do with you, is now acting all lovey dovey?!

Tumblr media
You were as stiff as a board as you laid next to Jing Yuan in your bed. His arms were around your waist and his face was pushed up into your neck, his breath tickling your skin with every puff of air that left his mouth, “you’re so tense.”
I wonder why, you thought as your mind wandered back to the dead maid who was probably still in his room.
“I just… I guess I’m scared,” you decided to test the waters with being truthful. He’s been lenient with you so far after all.
“Scared?”
“Scared of you,” your voice was soft as your words carried through the darkness of your room.
“Why?”
“Because… I feel like you’re going to kill me too.”
You felt one of his arms leave your waist. His hand sliding up your form before it found a strand of your hair and he started to twirl it about his finger.
“I might one day,” his voice echoed, “it was tempting to do so when you first got here.”
“Then why not do it?”
He already did the other times, is me having amnesia really stopping him this time? A part of you had to know despite how dangerous it was. Would Sunday even help you this time? You haven’t exactly been on the best of terms…
“Because…the other times I did…it was like ripping my own heart out.”
Other… times? But how…?
“What do you…?”
You felt him gently kiss your neck, “sleep, don’t mind my words, I’m just… joking.”
You don’t know when you fell asleep. All you do know is that when you closed your eyes was that you were going to search for answers. Wherever those answers may be.
The next morning when you woke up, Jing Yuan was still next to you, and you found yourself turned around so now that you were facing him and truth be told your dreams were turbulent, nightmarish. You still feel so tired especially from what Jing Yuan revealed the night before.
You need to talk to Sunday, but not while he is in here with you.
Speaking of which…
He looked quite peaceful while he was sleeping.
Slowly, you brought your hand up, your fingers were gentle as they ran along his cheeks, his nose, his lips, his forehead, down his jawline. He was so beautiful, but so dangerous all the same.
How does he remember those lives? Was he saying all that to get a rise out of me? A reaction? Was he hoping my mask would slip?
“Is my face that interesting to you?”
Your eyes met his and you smiled, “mmm, you’re very beautiful.”
He chuckled softly as he sat up in your bed and swung his legs over the side. His warmth no longer surrounded you and you were tempted to pull him back in. Maybe I can ask him about what he meant last night?
“Princess.”
“Y- yes?”
“Come to the training grounds later.”
“Why?”
He grinned at you.
“A- alright…”
Before he got up, he motioned for you to come over, deciding that it would be best to listen to him, you sat up in the bed too and crawled over and just as you got close enough he had wrapped his arm around your neck and tugged you forward in order to hold you still. You were about to say something to him when you felt his lips on yours. His mouth perfectly slotting against your own as he kept you there easily before letting you go and standing up.
“See you later, Princess.”
“Bye, Yuan,” you managed to mumble out as you still felt the heat of his lips on yours when he left the room.
“You’re looking quite dazed,” Sunday said.
His immediate appearance caused your brow to furrow as you got out of bed too.
“What did Jing Yuan mean last night?”
You cut right to the chase, you were tired of Sunday’s hidden intentions and lackluster explanations. You were going to get answers, and if he wasn’t going to tell you than you planned to ask the Emperor.
“The emperor is quite troublesome it seems. He’s always one step ahead…”
“Quit stalling.”
Sunday smirked at you.
“I lied.”
“Obviously,” you scoffed.
“I wasn’t the one turning back time, Jing Yuan was.”

I have a Rudy request. It’s fluffy, not smutty. The reader is a famous singer and she’s dating Rudy. She has a YouTube channel. One day, she makes a YouTube video of her reading thirst tweets people made about her and Rudy is in the video with her and he’s laughing the whole time.
Thirst Tweets
Rudy Pankow x Reader
Tumblr media
The story of how you and Rudy met was cute really. You were both on a plane. You were traveling because you were on tour as a singer. Rudy was traveling for work as he was an actor on the show Outer Banks. You just so happen to sit next to each other on the plane.
Rudy listened to your music so he knew who you were. He always thought you were gorgeous but he figured you were out of his league. You had the window seat and then Rudy sat next to you. Rudy decided he wanted to get to know you so even though he was a little nervous, he went for it.
“Hey, you’re Y/N Y/L/N, right? The famous singer?” Rudy started.
“Oh hi, yeah I am, nice to meet you,” you turned towards him
“I’m Rudy, Rudy Pankow.”
“Hi why are you going to Charleston?” you tried to make good conversation.
“Oh I’m shooting my TV show there. I’m an actor,” Rudy scratched the back of his neck.
“Wow what TV show is it may I ask?”
“It’s called Outer Banks.”
“I’ll have to watch it then,” you winked.
The rest of the conversation flowed naturally. You both had a great flight talking to and getting to know each other. When the flight was over you exchanged numbers and started texting about when you can see each other again. Both your schedules were busy but you made time for one another.
Eventually Rudy asked you out and you’ve been dating ever since. Rudy went to a couple of your shows and you went on the set of outer banks to see them filming in action. You’ve never felt this way with anyone before the way you feel with Rudy. It was like you were destined to be together.
You and Rudy were always doing fun things. You were both nervous to tell the world you were dating, well because, you were both famous. But your fans took it really well. The internet loved you when you finally made it public. It was a big step.
“Ya know I think it’s finally time I introduce you to my youtube channel,” you told Rudy in the living room of your shared apartment.
“You think so?” Rudy responded.
“Yeah my manager sent me an idea. She suggested I read thirst tweets.”
“Thirst tweets? I’d be down to be in it, sounds fun,” Rudy commented.
“Ok let’s do it.”
Your manager sent you a list of thirst tweets so all you had to do was read them. You set up your camera in the living room and Rudy got comfortable. “I’m excited,” you announced.
“This is gonna be fun,” Rudy exclaimed.
You made sure you and Rudy were in frame and hit record. You sat down next to Rudy and pulled out your phone. “Hi guys I’m Y/N and this is my boyfriend Rudy Pankow.” Rudy waved and said hello.
“Today I’m gonna be reading your thirst tweets.”
“Okay first one. Y/N Y/L/N is so fine she can run me over with a truck.” You laughed.
Rudy glanced at the tweet over your shoulder and snickered.
“Thank you I think,” you giggled.
“I mean they are right,” Rudy commented.
“Next this one says I want to get railed by Y/N.”
Rudy laughed loudly. “I don’t know how that would work but okay,” you shrugged.
“This one has a picture of me and it says “raw, next question.”
Rudy busted out laughing. “That one is my favorite so far,” Rudy admitted.
“Okay okay here’s another one, Can we talk about how gorgeous Y/N Y/L/N is? She is fucking beautiful.”
“I agree,” Rudy commented.
“Want Y/N Y/L/N to spit in my mouth!” you read the tweet.
“Oh god,” Rudy laughed.
“Alright let’s keep going. Y/N Y/L/N is mother,” you read another.
“Mother?” Rudy questioned with a laugh.
“I’m flattered,” you smiled.
“Y/N Y/L/N makes me go feral,” you kept reading tweets.
“Feral? like a wild animal?” Rudy chuckled.
“I guess.”
“Y/N Y/L/N was my biggest sexual awakening,” you looked at your phone.
“Again I’m flattered.”
“I’m a SLUT for Y/N,” you read another tweet.
“I want Y/N Y/L/N to [redacted] [redacted] [redacted] me so hard that I [redacted] [redacted] [redacted].”
“Wait let me see,” Rudy looked at your phone.
“That’s so funny,” Rudy laughed.
“I would rail the shit out of Y/N.”
“Me too oh wait I already do,” Rudy whispered.
“Rudy!”
“Ok ok next one says “Y/N Y/L/N can punch me in the face and i’d say thank you.”
“Oh my,” Rudy giggled.
“making out with Y/N would fix me,” you read.
“Let me tell you it’s amazing,” Rudy spoke.
“Thanks,” you laughed.
“On my knees for Y/N!”
“Interesting,” you raise your eyebrows.
“Well that was fun, thank you everyone for your support I’ll see you in the next one.”
“Bye guys!” Rudy waved goodbye.
You got up and turned off the camera. “You know I’m so lucky to have you,” Rudy told you.
“Aww,” you cooed and gave Rudy a kiss on his lips.
Rudy was your person. The two of you were perfect together. You knew you were gonna be together for a long time. You both supported each other in everything you do. Rudy was your soulmate and you were his.

Just because I feel low right now, it doesn't mean all that I've got has run out. ~ Chet Faker, 2021
We were just a few weeks from the baby's due date, when Nine felt a little off and complained I was mumbling. He went to the doctor, where he discovered he’s losing his hearing—a devastating diagnosis for someone whose whole world has been music.
I keep cycling through the stages of grief, he said. Angry. Sad. Afraid. Wondering if there's something I can do to stop from losing my hearing completely. Telling myself that it's better than losing my sight because not seeing your beautiful face or watching my daughter smile would be hell. But I'm still scared I won't be able to hear our baby laugh for the first time.
I didn't know what to say to him. I thought about my father, who'd been born deaf, and I couldn't help wonder if hearing loss might be a genetic concern, but I couldn't say that. Not now. So I just told him the truth. I'm not sure how to comfort you, I said.
You don't have to comfort me, my love. Just understand that I might not be myself for a while. He pulled me in close. I need time to process and experience all the feelings when I feel them.
Did the doctor give you any kind of prognosis?
It's likely that the loss came on gradually from listening to music too loud with my headphones on, so there's no clear timeline. I might live the rest of my life needing hearing aids, or I might lose my hearing completely, he said.
What about your music?
I guess I'll just keep playing until I can't anymore and...who knows, maybe I'll be the next Beethoven, or maybe I'll take up painting or woodworking or cross-stitch.
I giggle a little at that mental image and Nine smiles gently. All that really matters is my family. As long as I have you, I can handle this.
I'm not going anywhere, I said. Not in this lifetime.

Donna's hands slipped under your uniform, untying the ties that held it to your body while you worked on the buttons of the blouse of her dress. Your head spun and the excitement was overwhelming.
Determined to leave behind anything that would interrupt the moment, you broke free from your thoughts when your hands brushed her skin, when your fingers unclasped her bra with a quick movement.
Donna began to become wild, dominant, as if the simple act of claiming you, of making love to you, reminded her that you were one step closer to stop being Cassandra's, to being only hers.
After all, feeling like you were hers wasn't the same as being so. Donna knew that, and it tormented her.
A few intense kisses on your neck brought you back to reality, making you moan, close your eyes, and forget about your worries. Her lips felt soft on your skin, her teeth barely grazed you, but made you tremble.
“D-Donna, b-be careful,”  you said, making the brunette move away from your neck to slide her hands under your legs and lift you romantically, placing you gently on the bed.
“Mm?” she murmured distractedly, bringing her hips closer to yours, making you notice her imprisoned erection pressing against your body and forcing you to emit an involuntary moan.
“N-not the neck, okay? You could leave a mark on me and Ca…” you said with a slightly clearer voice, putting your hands on her shoulders and causing her expression to suddenly harden.
“Shut up,” Donna snapped at you with a cold, angry look, hitting the mattress with her fist. “D-Don't say her name,” she hissed, looking away and accelerating her breathing.
You rushed to fix things as best you could: cupping her face in your hands.
“Shh, darling, forgive me, I didn't mean… Donna, my love, I'm sorry, okay?” you said tenderly, to which the lady closed her eye and let the air out of her lungs slowly.
“I know, I… It's just that I…” she stammered without looking directly at you.
“Come here,” you said, bringing your lips closer to hers, kissing the lady to distract her from the uncomfortable truth of the situation, one that seemed increasingly difficult for the doll maker to assimilate.
The insecurities were silenced with the wet sounds of your kisses, with gasps and sighs that increased with each look, word, whisper, caress…
Your hands sought the warmth of her pale skin, her perfect breasts, her arousal struggling to free itself from the black fabric of her underwear… That was more than enough for Donna to roar anxiously, grabbing your legs and freeing her shaft, bringing it closer to your wetness.
Donna was in a hurry, her body was in a hurry to claim you and her thrusts began to move your body while you closed your eyes, noticing how your walls stretched and pleasure began to invade you.
Your hands moved erratically as she claimed your body desperately, moaning in a very low voice, grunting every time she felt you squeeze her. They were quick movements, but when you opened your eyes you felt relief; relief to see her eyes looking at you as always, with love, with tenderness, in a way Cassandra never did.
You could have lost yourself in her perfectly controlled thrusts, in all the sensations that ran through your body, but something prevented you from doing so, forcing you to focus, to finish that forbidden act as soon as possible.
“Ti amo, (Y/N),” the lady whispered, stopping to kiss you slowly, to check that her haste, her eagerness wasn’t hurting you.
“I love you, Donna,” you answered, with a melancholic smile. “D-Don't stop, please.”
She obeyed with a timid nod, resuming her movements as she separated your legs even further, taking absolute control.
The moans, the creaks of the bed accompanied your feelings until the pleasure was too intense, releasing an orgasm, revealing that your body was ready to enjoy the woman you loved, without thinking about anything else.
Her release came soon after, warming your body, caressing your walls in a wet and lustful way. Afterwards, Donna pulled away with a grunt, lying down beside you to begin your favorite part of those visits.
Yes, sex was incredible, but what you really enjoyed were those moments embraced, naked, those tender smiles of Lady Beneviento looking at you, those kisses soaked with the sweat of the effort of loving you… Yes, that was your favorite part.
After a few comforting moments of silence, you inched closer to her naked body, burying your head in her chest as her delicate hands lovingly caressed your hair.
“I could lose myself in your arms,” you whispered, your voice hoarse from the passion that seemed to still reverberate off the bedroom walls.
Donna laughed softly, pulling you closer to kiss your forehead, to brush your hair away from your face as you sighed. You wondered if maybe that was her favorite part too.
Your hands tangled together, absentmindedly playing with each other as the lady in black hummed an unfamiliar tune. Your gaze focused on her soft, fine hands, contrasting with the roughness of yours.
“You know? I find incredible that we have come to this…” you sighed, losing yourself again in her gaze. “I remember the first time I came… You closed the door in my face…”
“Mm, it's true,” the brunette said, amused, with a touch of shame in her voice. “I wasn't used to visits.”
“Oh,” you continued joking, sensually bringing your lips closer to hers, without kissing them, leaving the lady frustrated, teasing her.
“Now I can't live without them,” she answered, thus beginning a fight of kisses.
“Donna,” you said, trying to get away from her addictive lips with amusement.
“(Y/N),” she said shortly after, sitting on the bed and looking away from you for a moment.
“What's wrong?” you asked, noticing how her body separated from yours, creating a horrible feeling of cold and abandonment on your skin.
“Mm, niente, io…”
“Hey! Are you done yet?! Angie doesn't like to be alone…” A sing-song voice sounded from behind the door, breaking that tense calm, that moment of lucidity from the lady in black, those words, which, surely, would start a conversation that you didn't feel like having, not that day.
“Angie…” Donna hissed, shaking her head and rolling her eye. “Go away!”
“I don't want to! Come here now! I'm bored!” the doll shrieked, with a mocking melody in her voice.
You laughed at the doll's always irreverent attitude, and at the embarrassment that it produced in its owner.
Donna looked at you and her smile also widened, joining you in a tender and soft laugh, resting her forehead against yours.
“I’m sorry, (Y/N), you know the way she is,” she said amused, shaking her head and tucking a lock of hair behind your ear.
“Poor Angie,” you mocked in a low voice while the doll tried to get your attention with soft knocks on the door. “Besides, I…” you said, immediately staying quiet.
“What?” the lady asked, suddenly nervous, her gaze reflecting the fear of hearing that phrase, the phrase that always stabbed a knife deep into her heart.
“It's late and…” you whispered unsure, looking away and uncovering yourself, searching for your clothes. “I have, I have to…”
“Don't say it, please,” Donna interrupted, shaking her head, grabbing your wrist.
“I'm sorry, Donna, but I have to go,” you finally said, disobeying that silent plea, making her hand gently leave your skin. “It's going to get dark.”
“But, but,” the woman said, shaking her head and searching in her mind for an excuse, some words to make you reconsider your decision.
It wasn't really a decision. Your heart ached at the thought, knowing how much it hurt Donna to see you leaving, something that was becoming more and more difficult.
In silence, you both dressed again, without looking at each other, without doing or saying anything. The tension slowly increased; a tension that couldn't be dispelled with an apology or an empty promise, not anymore.
“Can I brush your hair?” Donna asked in a whisper as you looked at yourself in the vanity, searching for a mark, anything that could give you away to your true owner.
You nodded, letting her take a brush and gently run it through your hair as you both looked at each other in the mirror. Her bright eye betrayed regret, sadness, and yours betrayed lack of sleep, tiredness, laziness…
It was an overwhelming sight, but somehow it had its own sparkle. She was at your side, her beauty accompanying you, her hands caressing you as she gently combed your hair. Donna was with you, and that made you feel complete.
“Are you two deaf!? I'm here...” the doll joked, but without causing the same laughter as before.
It was a sad moment, the only moment you hated when you were with Donna.
“(Y/N), you don't have to do it,” Donna said softly, checking the result of her movements in the mirror and bending down slowly, surrounding your waist with her arms. “Please, stay with me a little longer, please.”
“You know I can't.” It was all you managed to say, shaking your head and pushing her hands away as you got up from the chair.
“We could play chess, or, or I could teach you to cook my recipes… Or maybe we could read in silence, with the fireplace sheltering us from the cold and…” the brunette insisted, pulling your body back, holding you tighter again.
“I can't, Donna,” you said, moving away abruptly, regretting it instantly. “Don't make it more difficult for me, my love…”
“You make it difficult for me,” she replied, giving some room and moving away. “You don't know what it's like to see you leaving every week, to see you going back to… to her,” she whispered with a cold look, with her teeth clenched.
“Donna,” you reprimanded, cupping her face in your hands, fearing that the tension would suddenly explode, embittering the moment. “I'll be back, you know I always do.”
“What if one day you don't?” she asked, grabbing your wrists, hurting you.
“Honey, please let me go,” you said in a calm voice, being released instantly. “I promise I'll be back. You're the only thing that makes my life worth living.”
“But, tesoro...” she insisted, grabbing your wrists again, this time more gently. “Io...”
“Shh...” you hissed, putting two fingers on her lips before kissing them softly, noticing the salty taste of a tear that came out of your eyes involuntarily. “Donna...”
“(Y/N), don't leave,” the brunette said again, lowering her gaze, blinking erratically.
“I'll be back, darling,” you repeated like a mantra that relaxed, but at the same time, distressed you.
Finally the lady in black nodded, keeping her hand in yours, but accepting the reality.
With a passionate kiss, you pulled away from her, walking towards the bedroom door, something you couldn't do, as her grip refused to let you go.
“Donna, please...” you said, increasingly nervous, pulling on her arm. “Donna, let me go.”
She did so with an angry growl and a dark expression, turning to give you her back, making her dress dance hypnotically as she sat at the vanity, unable to watch you walk away.
“Just be patient, my love,” you said quietly, opening the bedroom door, not wanting to wait for an answer.
“It's about time! Let's play!” Angie shrieked as she saw you walk past her. “Hey, silly, are you leaving?”
“I'm sorry Angie, but I have to go back to the castle,” you said, putting on your coat, refusing to look back.
A loud noise startled you: Donna's fist hitting the vanity furiously. It was time to leave, you couldn't leave her like that, but you had to.
“Cazzo!” the brunette shrieked as she hit the furniture over and over again.
“Oops,” Angie sighed, looking at you accusingly. “It's your fault, silly.”
“I, I just…” you said sobbing, knowing that you couldn't even help her, that you couldn't stay to ease her madness. “I-I have to go…”
“Yes, go! I'll fix your mess, like always!” the doll scolded you, walking gracefully towards the bedroom. “Donna, Donna, don't do that... Donna...”
The brunette's screams and sobs echoed in the walls until you went up the elevator, turning them off like the end of a movie, the end of a melancholic symphony that split your soul in two.
“I'm sorry... I'm so sorry, my love,” you sighed quietly, closing your eyes and walking automatically towards the exit, towards the cold of that place, far from the comfort and warmth of your lover's arms.
Born and raised in that forgotten village, your future was written. You couldn't be what you wanted, but what you had to be. Being just another maid was your destiny, and you had no choice but to accept it.
The castle always gladly hired any young girl who was willing to work, to serve its mistress, but the work wasn't as hard as you expected.
Alcina Dimitrescu was an imposing woman, but elegant and even kind. Little by little you got used to being there, to sharing your existence with the lady of the castle and her daughters, who, on the contrary, didn't have much in common with their mother.
Crazy, free and unhinged, yes, that seemed like a correct statement for the three Dimitrescu sisters. Bela, Cassandra and Daniela were like mischievous agents of chaos who broke the harmony and elegance of that place.
After a year working in the castle, things improved before getting worse. One of the three sisters, Cassandra, seemed to have some interest in you. You never thought that those three creatures had interests beyond blood and chaos, but for a moment, you thought you were wrong.
She approached you, laughing evilly, looking at you while you did everyday chores. Habit made your body miss those eyes when they weren't looking at you, miss that laugh when there was only silence in the castle.
An "I like you", a slight blush on her cheeks and a quick kiss were the closest thing to a confession of love that came out of her lips.
Scared by her presence, and despite yourself, attracted, you let her lips kiss yours, you let your body experience what it was like to kiss chaos itself, and you liked it.
Little by little you began to feel that beyond the blood there was a heart beating desperately for your attention, that those looks and laughs were the expression and confirmation that even the daughters of a Lord were capable of love.
You lived happily for a while. Cassandra paid attention to you, all the maids began to respect you and even the lady of the castle granted you certain privileges for, according to her, having captured the interest of her daughter.
You were in a dream, in a fairy tale. You became a wandering smile that began to see the light at the end of her dark future. But it didn't take long for you to realize that fairy tales were just that, tales.
When you couldn't be more in love, Cassandra began to lose interest.  Maybe if you had opened your eyes earlier, you wouldn't be in that situation.
But your eyes needed to see what your intuition was saying, and so it happened. You saw that the suspicions your mind was screaming at you were true.
Cassandra said you were hers, she did, but she had no qualms about flirting with other maids, whispering in their ears, chasing them down the halls, and, of course, not being careful that you didn't see her.
You believed, she said, everyone thought that Cassandra Dimitrescu was your girlfriend, they really did, you really did.
But the concept of commitment and fidelity was far from the chaos inherent in the young Dimitrescu. Deep down you didn't consider that way of thinking as evil or bad-intentioned.
You knew that she didn't make you suffer on purpose, she was just like that.
You tried to bear it, not to look at the marks on the necks of other maids. You tried to ignore it, to forget that you were hers, but she would never be yours.
The pain became unbearable and the love you felt for her began to fade away.
At that moment, just when you thought your life would be a curse, that there was no other solution than to wait patiently for Cassandra to pay attention to you, you met Donna.
The first time your girlfriend asked you to take some supplies to the old estate you even thought of running away, of never coming back. That thought left your mind as soon as it arrived; you would gain nothing, and you would lose everything.
Instead, you decided to fulfill the errand and approach the old mansion.
The rest of the Lords weren’t a mystery, but shadows that you never really managed to see. Of all of them, the village especially feared the inhabitant of that old house, Lady Beneviento.
You knew what she was capable of doing, you knew that her mind was sick, seriously injured, and that she was dangerous, very dangerous. The villagers often said that they no longer feared nightmares but the lady in black.
That day you arrived there trembling with fear, only to find a woman dressed in mourning, a woman who hid her face with a black veil, a woman who didn’t speak, whose presence evoked the night and the darkness itself.
You completed your task with a kind gesture, which was answered with a soft nod and a sharp slam of the door.
Even with that brief encounter, your head began to wander, to wonder. While you were washing dishes, cleaning a hallway, or while Cassandra was taking you, you could only see that black figure and theorize what kind of creature was hiding behind that black veil.
Over time, it became increasingly difficult to get the lady out of your head, and everything got worse when those errands became frequent.
You were unable to find out anything about her, but the slamming of doors was no longer common. Instead, Donna remained silent, looking at you, as if she were studying you, as if she wanted to check that you didn’t want to hurt her.
That apparent vulnerability sparked much more interest on your part, and you began to talk, to ask, to address that stoic figure.
Little by little those conversations moved inside the mansion. Your almost childish insistence on communicating with the lady was clearly a cry for help, a cry to forget for a moment the place you had to return to, and it worked, it worked too well.
The doll stopped being her speaker and her lips uttered a word for the first time, almost a whisper, a melodic one, impregnated with a soft and attractive accent: your name.
It was impossible to resist staying a little longer, to listen to her hoarse voice a little longer, and you simply let it happen.
She offered you tea, listening to any nonsense you had to say and answering briefly but nodding with interest. You didn't know why you were so interesting to her, until you eventually realized how alone she had been all that time.
You couldn't deny that you began to feel, to notice something more inside your chest every time you approached her, every time her pale hands touched yours when she served you tea.
Without wanting to, but without stopping it, you were falling in love with the lady in black.
One day, a day of tea and chat like any other, that black veil fell. It was removed with a gentle movement of her hands. Donna trusted you. She wanted to show herself as she was because it was inevitable to deny that she also felt something for you.
Donna was the most beautiful woman you had ever seen. Her face was not stained with blood, her lips were not painted black. Her only eye shone without that yellowish evil you saw in Cassandra's. She was a truly beautiful woman.
The scar that the will of the Gods left on her face was one of her most horrible fears, one of her greatest insecurities. Her revelation was also a plea, a vote of confidence, of knowing if those feelings were worth it, or if you would end up falling off the cliff like her family did.
Your answer, your only answer, was a kiss. A tender, desperate kiss, the sudden capture of her lips with yours.
Knowing the consequences of entering someone else's territory, Donna accepted that forbidden relationship, just like you.
You may have felt these visits as an escape valve from your hardships at first, but you refused to see it that way. No, Donna wasn’t an escape from a place you didn't want to be, she was the place you wanted to be.
Yes, she was sick, she was crazy, but she was loving and attentive too. She smiled, she listened to you, she hugged you, she caressed you, she loved you.
You saw in her everything that Cassandra didn't have. You began to believe that it was what you really deserved, that Donna was yours, and you were hers.
The furtive kisses and caresses didn't last long. Something inside Donna made her resemble her adoptive family: jealousy, possessiveness.
She wasn't jealous of the world, she wasn't jealous of anyone who looked at you, she knew where the root of her sometimes abrupt and erratic behavior was: Cassandra.
Feeling displaced made her feel frustrated and, after making another confession to you, she took you for the first time.
Her face wasn't the only thing the Gods changed. Her body did too, enough to make her even more self-conscious. For you it was never a problem, for her, your natural reaction and your slightly mischievous smile was one more reason to love you madly.
For the first time in your life, you didn't squeeze your eyes shut. You didn't feel the need to repress the pain of some unpleasant scratches on your bare skin. All you felt were soft caresses, playful tickles on your skin, kisses that ran over your lips while your bodies moved anxiously.
Cassandra was the first, or so you thought until that moment. In reality, the first woman who truly loved you was Donna.
She made you feel comfortable, she gave you more pleasure than you could ever have felt, she told you she loved you, she whispered it in your ear while she took you slowly, not wanting to hurt you.
At first you felt guilty, you cried on her bare chest after your first time. A few kisses didn't mean that much to you, but having Donna inside you, making love with her for the first time, knowing what it was really like to feel loved, broke one of your emotional barriers.
Donna comforted you. She didn't scold you for having ruined that moment, for you feeling remorse. She understood you.
Time kept passing and the visits kept increasing. Any excuse was good to melt into her arms, to make love calmly or wildly, to feel like you had never felt before and to forget that you would have to return to the castle, that those arms wouldn’t always protect you.
After walking through the snow, without even realizing it, you returned to the castle. All the thoughts about how you met Donna and your miserable life with Cassandra had made your return a simple formality.
“(Y/N), you're back,” one of your companions, Irina, said. She was your best friend for a long time. Now, she was just another maid. “The lady was getting worried.”
You rolled your eyes, closing the doors and taking off your coat.
The heat of that castle, one that at first seemed pleasant to you, was uncomfortable, oppressive, and even more so after that tense moment with Donna, a tension that was increasingly common in your visits.
“I'm sure you all were very worried,” you said ironically, glancing sideways at the red mark on her neck, one that indicated that Cassandra had passed by there, probably tired of waiting for you.
The girl noticed what you were looking at and quickly covered herself with an apologetic smile.
“(Y/N), I'm sorry, she came over and…” she began to explain, making you snort and shake your head.
No, you didn't need to know what your girlfriend had done with her in your absence. It would probably be Cassandra herself who would tell you if she got bored.
“Cut the crap, Irina, I'm not interested,” you said in a dark voice, pushing the girl away with your hand.
“Yes, of course,” the young woman nodded, with an absurd bow, as if you were something more than her, as if you were a maid who has to be respected.
How ironic, not even your girlfriend respected you.
“Oh, there you are, I thought you had gotten lost, dear,” a deep and sensual voice appeared behind you, freezing your steps: Alcina Dimitrescu, lady of the castle.
“My lady,” you murmured with an elegant gesture, fearing that running away to your room and crying wasn’t going to be possible.
“You've taken your time, my dear, have you had any problems with Donna?” the tall woman asked, putting a hand on your back to gently push you to walk beside her.
“No, my lady, she...” you said, stopping to think about an answer, one that wouldn't raise more questions.
To Alcina, the relationship that seemed to exist between her daughter and you was real, pure and sincere. You didn't quite understand why Cassandra pretended in front of her mother. Maybe she was afraid of her, or maybe she was trying to protect you. You didn't want to know.
“Mm?” Alcina murmured arching her eyebrows, urging you to give an answer you didn't have.
“Well, she's had a breakdown,” you said without thinking, blaming poor Donna, blaming her mental illness.
You felt horrible for doing it, but you had no other choice. You didn't know the consequences of your mistress finding out about your affair.
“Gods…” the lady in white whispered, shaking her head. “Poor woman.”
“Um, I decided to stay with her until she was calmer. I hope I didn't overstep my bounds, my lady,” you said in a formal tone, looking down at the wooden floor, with the images of the previous passion sending confusing signals to your head.
“Oh, not at all, dear,” the woman said, with a grateful smile. “I appreciate it.”
“Thank you, my lady,” you whispered, wanting to run, to insult yourself for having lied, for having accused the woman you loved of your delay. “Excuse me, my lady, I would like to retire to my room, I fear I have caught a cold,” you lied again, looking for any clumsy excuse to get away from her, from any Dimitrescu who got in your way.
“Of course, I wouldn’t forgive myself if you got sick, but... (Y/N), when you are done, I would like to ask you something,” the vampire said, walking faster, confirming that you had gotten what you wanted, to be alone.
“Fine, my lady.”
The bath you took was a blessing. The heat penetrated your body naturally and the water eliminated any remaining evidence of your infidelity.
Feeling the sweat leave you, how her kisses disappeared from your skin in the soapy water was more painful than other times. The lavender disappeared to impose on your skin the sweet aroma of the castle soap, making you forget every single sensation you felt when making love with your lover, her smell, the humidity of her home, the mark of her fingers caressing your skin…
Love, forget, serve, pretend, that was your daily routine. You could only do one thing: wait for the next week, long for Donna's hugs, for her body warming yours.
If you could bear the situation, it was because you knew you would return to her but… for how long? Was Donna right and one day you wouldn’t return?
The days passed slowly, too slowly. What Alcina wanted to ask of you was simple, but you were deeply grateful for it. She wanted you to have the privilege of tidying up the wine cellar, a place where no maid was allowed to enter. Of course, you weren't just any maid.
The task was especially pleasant. While you were down there, you wouldn't have to look askance at the necks of other maids looking for Cassandra's mark on them, and even better: she couldn't bother you.
It was too cold in that place for her to bear, which made your stay down there even comfortable.
But of course, what seemed like an advantage, a respite, a longed-for relief in your daily life, would bring unexpected consequences.
One night, in your privileged room, the atmosphere was heavy with uncertainty and a bad feeling prevented you from thinking about Donna, from longing for her.
“Wakey, wakey…” a shrill, yet whispering voice stalked your ear as a lump slid under the sheets.
The ferrous scent of those lips gave her away and her childish laughter confirmed your fears: Cassandra.
“W-what are you doing here?” you asked, startled by the intrusion, by some uncomfortable kisses that were beginning to run down your neck.
“What? (Y/N), I'm your girlfriend, remember? I've come to see you,” the young Dimitrescu said, sensually dragging her words while she moved the fabric of your pajamas aside to look for more places to play.
“Hey, I don't want to be rude but… why now? Didn't you say you wanted to have fun with other maids?” you asked delicately, without altering or removing her lips from your skin.
“Oh, don't be like that, silly, you know you're special,” Cassandra purred, pulling you a little closer to her.
Your heart was beating fast and your conscience was screaming to be heard.
You didn't know how much time had passed since she got into your bed, since she physically claimed you, but you knew it was enough to affirm that there was no kind of intimacy between you two, not anymore.
That lack of interest in having sex with you relieved Lady Beneviento. Knowing that you would never be physically hers again served as a consolation every time you had to leave. You promised her you would never sleep with Cassandra again.
Of course, to make that promise was a mistake. Chaos couldn’t be predicted, and you should have known that better than anyone.
“So you suddenly remembered that I exist?” you asked again, pushing her away, just as her teeth sank into your skin, making you hiss in pain. “I thought you weren't having fun with me anymore.”
“Don't be a whiner, (Y/N). I want to take you,” she said, climbing on top of your body, dominating you with kisses that weren't reciprocated, at least not voluntarily. “Hey! Why aren't you paying attention to me? Oh, you're not mad because I had fun with Irina, are you?”
“No, but…” you denied nervously, stopping her hands from scratching your skin under your pajamas while her hips moved anxiously. “Listen, Cass, I'm really tired and…”
“What's wrong? Has Mother made you work too much?” the young woman asked, it almost seemed like she cared about you.
“No, not at all, but I would prefer that…” you murmured, fleeing from her kisses and provoking a childish moan from the vampire.
“Hey, don't move! What are you doing? Are you rejecting me?” she asked impatiently, analyzing your gaze as if she could see behind it.
“No, I...” you said, containing the trembling of your body, the irrational fear that direct question and the answer your heart had produced in you.
Even though Donna was your lover and Cassandra was your girlfriend, you didn't feel infidelity in that way. Letting Cassandra take you was much worse than having sex with Donna. It was cheating on the only person who truly mattered to you.
Breaking your promise was for you the worst of deceptions, a betrayal of the doll maker's trust, a true infidelity.
But the pressure of those chaotic eyes looking at you, demanding answers, answers that would please her, made you forget any attempt to refuse and you simply sighed, staying silent.
“That's better, hun, hun,” the young Dimitrescu laughed, amused, breaking the straps of your nightgown with a quick movement and insisting on sucking, licking, biting your skin.
You closed your eyes so as not to see, but you couldn't help but feel. Every scratch, kiss or movement was terribly painful. She was having fun, but you only suffered, you could only think about Donna, that every second that passed, every hysterical moan that came out of Cassandra's lips, was one more stab in Donna's heart.
You could only act in that way, reciprocate, obey and let yourself go.
None of Cassandra's movements unleashed pleasure in you. Her kisses weren’t hot; they didn’t provoke sensations like Donna's did. Cassandra’s fingers inside you didn't feel like Donna’s erection sliding comfortably into your walls.
It was a rough act. You just wanted it to be over soon, for Cassandra to get what she wanted, and leave you alone.
Luckily, she didn't take long.
After noticing her absence, you ran to your private bathroom naked, looking at the marks your girlfriend left on your body, washing your hands, your face, everything her lips had touched. Unlike when you took a bath after seeing Donna, that time you hoped that the smell of blood and Cassandra's perfume would disappear from your skin.
You rubbed your arms, your neck, your lips, but it didn't disappear; she couldn't disappear from you.
Crying, you went back to bed, looking for a new nightgown to spend the night in, searching for some memories with Donna that would make you forget what you had done.
But that wasn't the worst. The worst thing was that the next morning you would have to go back to the Beneviento estate, you would have to see your lover.
You thought you had the strength to do it, to force her to close her eye while she made love to you and ignore the new details of your body.
You knew you couldn't do it, you just knew it.
“I've missed you...” Donna whispered when her arms protected you again, when her lips rested on yours again. “Tesoro...”
“Me too,” you answered, letting that romantic hug comfort your wounded conscience and make you forget what happened the night before. “Um, um... Donna...” you said unsure.
“Mm?” she asked, brushing your hair away from your face as she always did, smiling at having you in her arms again.
“I was thinking… that… that…” you stammered, deciding that maybe you should suppress your desires and not have sex, at least that day. “Well, the other day you told me that you wanted to play chess or teach me your recipes… how about now?”
“I thought that before…” she murmured, looking at you confused, blinking erratically. “I would like to make you mine first, tesoro.”
“Yes, well, I know, but it's that… well, it's that… I'm on those days, you know, and…” you lied without knowing how to do it, causing the lady in black to frown, suspicious of your words.
“Oh, you're talking about your period… I-I don't remember the last time I… well, I…” Donna hesitated nervously, with a slight blush on her cheeks, cheeks that you caressed amused.
“Don't be nervous, my love,” you joked, whispering in her ear, inevitably biting her earlobe. “Just think about it. It will be much better when I come back next week.”
“Mm.” She nodded unsurely, playing with your hair, with an air of disappointment in her eye. “Fine, let's do something different.”
“Good…” you said, sighing in relief, perhaps too relieved. “How about chess?” you proposed, clapping your hands in the air and approaching the corner where you used to have tea.
“Va bene,” the lady answered, smiling distrustfully.
“Hey! Chess? Come on! Let's play hide and seek!” Angie protested, comically tugging at your dress as you walked.
“Angie, lasciala estare,” her owner ordered, making the doll cross her arms with a snort.
“Hey! What happened to you?” Angie asked, pointing at you, pointing at your neck.
The puppet's tugs had shifted your uniform dangerously, revealing a red mark on your neck, one you wanted to hide.
“For Gods’ sake, Angie, shut up...” you growled, moving your clothes to hide the mark, something that of course didn't deter Donna from slowly approaching, removing the fabric again with a moan of shock.
“What's that?” she asked.
“What's what?” you asked back, nervous.
“I-it was her, wasn't it? She wasn't supposed to touch you anymore,” Donna murmured, clenching her fists on either side of her hips. “You promised me she wouldn't touch you anymore!”
You closed your eyes, feeling the pain of guilt, the sadness of a broken promise.
“Donna, it's not what it seems, I…”
“It's exactly what it seems, (Y/N),” she said, hissing, getting dangerously close to you and grabbing your arm tightly. “You fucked her.”
Vulgar words didn't usually come out of her mouth, Lady Beneviento was losing her mind, and that time, she was right.
“You don't understand, it's not what you think, I don't…”
“Lie to me again, come on,” Donna threatened, with a hatred in her gaze that made you shudder.
“What did you want me to do?” you protested, crossing your arms, letting a childish defensive attitude take over you. “Do you think I had another option?”
“There's always another option,” she added, shaking her head. “You told me that there was nothing physical between you two anymore.”
“You don't understand, Donna.”
“I don't understand? You've fucked her, you promised me that...”
“You think it's easy?! Huh?!” you yelled, frantic. “What right do you have to judge what I do? You don't know how things are.”
Donna laughed sarcastically, with her eye wide open and her knuckles white from the pressure.
“You're right, I don't know how things are, I don't know what happens when you leave, when you go with her,” the lady in black murmured, pointing at you with her finger, her breathing becoming more and more agitated. “But it's quite clear.”
She turned her back on you, but you grabbed her shoulder, which was pushed away with a grunt and a quick movement from the brunette. You desperately tried to reassure her, to make her understand that the night when Cassandra played with you didn't mean anything.
“Listen to me, Donna, please,” you said in a less brusque, more pleading tone. “It didn't mean anything, I didn't enjoy it, I didn't want to, I…”
“Shut up! Cazzo… shut up, shut up, shut up!” Donna shrieked as she kicked the floor furiously.
“Donna, you're scaring me,” you sighed, moving away from her little by little. “If you'd just let me explain…”
“I don't want to hear your explanations!” she shrieked again. “You've deceived me, you're a bitch.”
Anger and helplessness forced you to act irrationally, slapping the lady in black, causing a painful silence to reign in the old house.
“Shit, I…” you said regretfully, trying to get closer to her again. “I didn't mean to, I couldn't… Donna, I…”
The words tried to come out of your mouth, but you weren't successful, you had reached a dangerous limit, you were walking on the edge of a cliff, and the only hand that could save you was further away than ever.
Donna stared at you, mouth agape, with a hand on her cheek, without saying anything, transmitting all her hatred with a look, one that you would never, ever forget.
“Get out of my house,” the lady murmured, looking away from you while you looked at your hand, shaking your head. “Sei una bugiarda! I don't want to see you again!”
“Donna, please, listen to me, I beg you,” you pleaded, grabbing her shaking arm, being pushed away by a rough push that almost made you lose your balance.
“Don't touch me, bitch,” she hissed in an even darker voice. “You broke your promise... Get out of my house! Get out, get out, get out!”
“Donna, Gods...” you sobbed, shaking your head as she walked towards you threateningly.
It was the first time you were afraid of her, truly afraid.
“Donna, please...” you stammered, being grabbed by the arm and letting yourself be led towards the exit.
The lady pushed you, making you fall into the snow.
“Donna! Don't treat her like that! You're stupid, listen to her!” Angie protested, hiding behind a piece of furniture, avoiding the wrath of her owner.
“I thought we were something, that I was something to you,” the lady in black growled, with her hair moved by the winter wind, while you checked that you hadn't been hurt.
“You are, I, I love you...” you said with difficulty, shaking the snow off your body. “Donna, I love you.”
“Liar! Liar, liar, liar!” the lady screamed, stamping her feet again, out of her mind, completely mad, slamming the door shut with a thunderous noise that echoed in the mountains.
“Donna…” you sobbed, tears warming your cheeks.
Just as you expected, it was all over. You had broken your promise, you had condemned yourself to a life without Donna, without the only thing that kept you fighting, and it was all because of you, because of the fear of being brave, of confronting Cassandra, of asking the lady in black to take you in her arms, and rescue you.
That fleeting thought that maybe Donna would come for you, to fight for you, was the last hope that kept you going the following days, but she wasn't going, she wasn't there, there was only you, alone, with a woman who didn't love you, with the only one who did betrayed by your lies, by an infidelity that Donna wouldn't be able to forgive.
“Remember to label the wine correctly, (Y/N),” Alcina said, on one of the endless afternoons in the winery.
What was once a refuge became a prison, one in which you would be alone, far from Cassandra, but with your thoughts and regrets as your only company.
You were no longer the same. Your complexion had turned pale, dark circles adorned your sickly presence, since, at night, your only protection against your girlfriend was to keep the window open, to let the cold in.
Over time you became a ghost of what you were, the ghost of another ghost, a long and sad shadow that didn’t want to see the light if Donna was not next to you.
Alcina's soft voice caught your attention, but unfortunately you could only emit a sad sob. It was getting harder and harder for you to pretend, to act as if you hadn't lost anything, as if everything you wanted and needed was in that castle, and not behind the forest, in the old Beneviento Estate.
“Yes, my lady,” you murmured, earning a serious look from the lady in white, who left a bottle on the table, walking towards you slowly, threateningly.
“My dear... I can't help but feel that something is wrong with you,” she said in a low voice, putting a large hand on your shoulder, forcing you to hide the tear that was welling up in one of your eyes.
“No, my lady, everything is fine,”
No, nothing was fine. Without Donna, nothing would ever be fine.
“You lie terribly,” Alcina sighed shaking her head and pulling your wrist to bring you closer to her. “Gods, look at those dark circles under your eyes, you look awful, dear.”
“I'm sorry, my lady.”
“Tell me (Y/N), has Cassandra done something bad to you?” she asked, making you be alert again.
She had never asked such a thing, your nerves were about to explode.
“Of course not, my lady,” you answered with a false smile, which tightened her grip even more while she frowned, knowing, being convinced that, again, you were lying.
“You know I hate lies, young lady, now, you are going to dry your tears and tell me…”
“Sorry, my lady,” a saving voice appeared in the cellar, making the lady of the castle growl, making her finally let you go.
“Damn it, Olga, you know that you are completely forbidden to come down here,” Alcina protested, putting her hands on her hips.
“I'm sorry, my lady, but it's just that…” the girl apologized, looking down, with her hands shaking in front of her body.
“It's just that what!?” your mistress shouted, echoing off the old walls, causing you to automatically shrink.
“Lady Beneviento is here, my lady,” the maid explained, as best she could, with her voice trembling, just like her body.
Lady Beneviento. That name made you look up quickly, your eyes suddenly opened and you let out an involuntary gasp that caught Alcina's attention for a moment, making her look at you out of the corner of her eye.
“Donna,” you whispered.
Luckily, you managed to avoid your boss's inquisitive gaze by turning around and pretending to place the bottles correctly.
“Gods, why did it take you so long to say it? You are more and more useless every day,” the tall woman protested, rubbing her eyes with contempt.
“Sorry, my lady,” Olga apologized again, pointing to the stairs. “What do I do?”
“What?” Alcina insisted, with an arrogant tone. “Has she told you what she wants?”
“W-Well, her doll was talking about some unfinished business but…” the maid murmured, making you freeze in place.
Had she come for you? Would that be possible? No, it couldn't be, she hated you. She kicked you out of her house…
“Oh, I understand,” the lady in white sighed, with a soft laugh, but looking at you out of the corner of her eye again. “Always so shy… Gods, what does it cost her to call me to say that she wants to have dinner with me? Anyway, tell the others to prepare food for one more person.”
“Yes, my lady”
“And you… go for a dress, dear, we have visitors,” she said looking at you with a different sparkle in her eyes.
“My lady, I…” you said trembling, not wanting to face Donna, not wanting to be in her presence. Not in that castle, not where she would never be yours. “I would rather not disturb and…”
“Nonsense, you are family, dear. Go on, be good and put on something nice, I am convinced that Donna is very happy to see her… errand girl…” she said with her usual irony, one that you mistook for an accusation, making you feel guilty.
You had no choice but to obey, you couldn’t do anything else.
There, in the dining room, there she was: Donna, covered with her black veil, following you with her gaze while you sat in front of her, asking with your eyes, wanting to know the reason for her unexpected presence.
The Angie doll, unlike her owner, had no problem greeting you effusively.
“See, silly? We've come... Hey, what happened to you? You look like a ghost,” the puppet whispered to you in an indiscreet manner, but just before you could ask or speak, the three Dimitrescu sisters appeared next to their mother.
“Hello, hello...” Cassandra sang while the others politely greeted their aunt. “But what do we have here, my elusive girlfriend... It seems that you can't escape from me today, huh?”
As she spoke, your blood boiled more and more, her unconsented touch on your cheeks made you burn with pain, with shame, while she sat on your lap hastily, without the slightest decorum, kissing you passionately in front of your lover.
It couldn't be worse.
“Ahem, Cassandra, darling, show some decorum, will you?” Alcina corrected, causing the young woman to wink at you and stand up, letting you see how Donna tightly gripped her fork, and how Angie tried to soften the pressure.
You’d had awkward dinners, but that one, without a doubt, was the worst of all.
If it weren't for Alcina's pleasant chat with her sister, everything would be silent. You knew that Donna wasn't paying attention. She only saw how Cassandra made fun of you by feeding you dinner with evil laughter, or speaking to you in indiscreet whispers about what she was going to do to you as soon as Donna left.
The sound of a piece of cutlery falling to the floor interrupted that tense calm. Donna had dropped her spoon and you, as helpful as ever, bent down to pick it up under the table.
You discreetly handed her the fallen object, realizing that there was something in her hand, something she left in yours and that you squeezed tightly.
A note, or so it seemed. You didn't know what it contained, what it meant, whether it was an explanation, an apology, or an insult. You were dying to know, but you couldn't, not with Cassandra beside you.
Your brain worked very hard to ignore her non-consensual assault on your privacy, focusing on the best way to find out what that piece of paper contained.
Okay, the idea was stupid, but it was the best you could come up with given the circumstances.
“Oh, wow,” you said falsely, regretting having let the glass of wine spill on your formal dress.
You were a terrible actress.
“Excuse me, but I have to go to the bathroom,” you said hastily, abruptly removing Cassandra's hand from your leg and getting up from the table.
Nervous, you ran through the halls, pretending to wash yourself so as not to raise suspicions until, finally, you opened that paper.
I have come to fight for you, to take you home in my arms, amore mio.
I don’t want, nor can, live without you
I love you
You read it once, and again, and again. The smile lit up your dull face when you understood what Donna was doing in the castle.
At last, because of Angie or her own conscience, she had come to her senses. Donna had understood that you needed her, that you never wanted to hurt her.
It didn't mean that she had forgiven you for having cheating on her, but it was a written proof of what she felt for you. She would not give up easily and she had found the courage to fight for you, even risking invading Cassandra's territory.
“Oh, Donna...” you whispered, pressing the note to your chest. “Donna, Donna, Donna…”
The sound of distant footsteps brought you out of your euphoria. Was it her? Could you finally love her, really be hers?
“Donna?” you asked out loud, getting the echo of your voice as an answer.
“Mm, no,  wrong,” a mocking voice said, one you knew, one that made you quickly put the note in your pocket. “Are you blind?”
“Cass, I…” you said as you saw your girlfriend licking her lips, coming closer while laughing, like a predator stalking its prey.
“If you wanted to see me, you didn’t have to stain that pretty dress.”
“It was an accident,” you lied, moving away from claws that were going straight for your waist. “We should go back.”
“Why the rush? It was a very lucky accident, don't you think?” she purred, forcing you to crash against the wall, with no option to escape. “Mother and the others are busy with Aunt Donna, so... well, you and I can play...”
Her tongue on your neck burned like a hot iron. The love you felt for Donna forced you to feel disgust for your girlfriend's actions. No, she wasn't going to get what she wanted that time, not when you were so close to getting the life you deserved, a life with Donna.
“No,” you said in a whisper, opening your eyes and standing firm.
“Excuse me?” Cassandra questioned, as if you had said something extraordinary, something she never thought she would hear from your lips.
“I said… No!” you screamed, pushing your girlfriend back, forcing her to step back sharply with her eyes wide open.
“What!?” she screamed angrily. “What do you mean by no? Listen, you silly girl, you are my girlfriend and…”
“No, not anymore,” you hissed. “I'm sick of you… of you making fun of me every day. It's over…”
“Why do you say those mean things to me? You don't have to… You can't say those things to me!” Cassandra yelled kicking the ground angrily, like a capricious child.
“It's over, Cassandra,” you said confidently, holding the note tightly in your hands, gaining all the courage you never thought you had.  “You are a spoiled, pampered and capricious brat… you think you have the right to play with people, with their feelings… well, I'll tell you one thing… You won’t play with me anymore!” you said furiously, trembling with fear, but without faltering.
“How dare you…” the young Dimitrescu hissed in a dangerous tone, her gaze darkening more and more. “Well, I've been very patient with you, pet. Do you think I don't know that you leave your window open to avoid me, to laugh at me? You can't avoid me! You're my girlfriend! You're mine!”
“I'll never be yours!” you shouted back, with all your strength.
Those words were too much for the young woman, who approached roughly grabbing you by the collar of your dress, almost lifting you into the air.
“You're going to pay for it, pet… You're going to…!” she shrieked, raising her hand, about to punish you for your insolence.
Something prevented her from completing her action, a pale hand wrapped around her wrist, preventing her from moving, Donna’s hand.
The lady in black appeared to save you, pushing your now ex-girlfriend away from you with a furious growl.
“Donna!” you sobbed in the middle of a desperate cry.
“What are you doing? Stay out of this, Aunt Donna,” Cassandra said surprised, to which your lover paid no attention, walking quickly towards you and cupping your face in her hands.
“Tesoro... are you okay? Did she hurt you?” the lady whispered, checking your condition while you clung to her, shedding a sea of tears on her shoulder.
“I'm fine, I'm fine because you came... you came for me...” you said sobbing, finding the comfort you so lacked, the pleasant warmth of her arms.
“Of course I came... Oddio... I'm so sorry... I behaved like a fool...” she whispered in your ear, melting into you in a sincere, strong, safe embrace.
“Hey! What's going on here?” Cassandra asked, with a disgusted look at you. “What the hell…? Oh, no, it can't be true…”
“Get away from her, I won't repeat it,” Donna threatened, placing you behind her body in a protective gesture.
“You? Are you trying to snatch what's mine? Mother!” the young woman shouted, moving nervously and trying to grab you again. “You bitch… you've been cheating on me! Now you'll really pay for this and…!”
The lady in black moved quickly, pushing the young Dimitrescu aside and slapping her with a blow that left everything silent, lost in the echo of the walls.
“But, but…” Cassandra protested, incredulous at what had just happened. “You hit me!”
The sound of fast heels alerted you. Of course, that commotion alerted the lady of the castle, who was running towards you, causing a sinister smile to appear on Cassandra's wounded face.
“Mother, mother, come, come!” her daughter shrieked with childish satisfaction, pointing at you. “Aunt Donna hit me.”
Alcina looked at you briefly, studying the arms that held you, your tears, with a cold face.
“Now you are going to pay for what you have done... you are going to... Ah!” Another slap crossed the young vampire's face, but it wasn’t Donna's, but her own mother's. “Mother?”
“You stupid spoiled brat...” Alcina hissed, with her teeth grinding, with a visceral hatred towards her own daughter. “How dare you treat a girl like that?”
“What? But, but, but she…” Cassandra protested, embarrassed and terrified.
“Oh, come on, do you think I'm stupid? I know perfectly well what you were doing to poor (Y/N). Tell me, girl, what have I done wrong with you? Haven’t I educated you on how to treat ladies?”
“But…”
“Silence!” Dimitrescu shrieked, making you shrink even further into the arms of your lover, who remained stoic, ready to protect you. “Gods… (Y/N), are you okay?” she asked in a motherly tone, but visibly upset.
You simply nodded, moving away from the hand that rested on your shoulder.
“Mother, it's not fair,” Cassandra protested, with tears in her eyes, tugging at her mother's dress.
“Shut your mouth and get out of my sight! It's clear that you need new lessons… Until then, you're grounded! Go away!” the matriarch shrieked, pointing down the hallway, where the young woman, turned into a tangle of flies, fled in terror.
The tall woman sighed and seemed to calm down, turning her gaze towards you and sighing exhaustedly.
“Donna, how disappointing…” she said in a kind but accusatory tone. “I must confess that I never imagined that you, of all people, would be capable of such a thing…”
The lady in black didn’t respond, she simply hugged you tighter. She wasn’t going to let you go, she would never let you go again.
“And you…” the lady in white said. “Oh, my dear… how could you? Cheating on my daughter with Donna… no, no, no, that is not right, my dear…”
“My lady, I…” you stammered as best you could, with a sore throat, with your heart about to explode.
“Shut up,” Alcina ordered you. “You are fired. Take your things and get out of my castle… Oh, and Donna, I'm sure you won't waste the chance to have a maid like her, will you?”
You both looked at each other. You didn't know if Donna was smiling, but you were; your face regained its full brightness when you realized what was happening.
Alcina wasn't firing you, she was setting you free, allowing you, and Donna, to form the life together you dreamed of so much. It was all too good to be true; you even feared it was just a dream.
But as you left the castle in her arms, in Donna's arms, as she promised you, knowing that you wouldn't come back, that you would finally be free to be with her, you realized that it wasn't a dream, but reality, a reality you finally wanted to be in.

Ok so I know we all wish there was more reaction in canon to the revelation of Dazai’s past. But I think there’s more of a reaction than people realize. It’s like the entire dynamic shifts after the meeting with the mafia. And it’s easy to attribute this to things getting more serious, more dangerous, because no one mentions Dazai being the reason for it. But I think it’s important to understand about these characters that the not saying anything is extremely indicative of their feelings on the matter. I think the tension is mostly glossed over because at the end of the day this is still Atsushi’s story and he’s kinda oblivious to it. But Dazai and Kunikida aren’t really partners after that, their interactions go way down, their banter is no longer a staple of the series. And Dazai wasn’t really close enough with anyone else to see major changes in his relationships with them, but we can guess based on what we do know.
For one thing, anyone thinking Fukuzawa already knew, sorry to burst your bubble but Taneda didn’t tell him jack. In fact Dazai made up a story about randomly meeting him at a bar and Taneda offering to find him a job if he won a bet or something. Dazai lied to Fukuzawa just as much as anyone else, he had elaborate cover stories. Fukuzawa told Kunikida to shoot him if he showed a hint of malicious intent but Dazai managed to worm his way out of that disguising it as his solution to the case/a suicide attempt. He pretended to be the bad guy to put on a show for the people listening in, and create an excuse for the listening device to be destroyed and gave Kunikida enough hints that he’d think twice about actually shooting him and pretended he wanted him to do it. It’s a very masterfully done scheme really, because Kunikida was so wrapped up in how it affected the case that he miss took Dazai’s innocence in the case for a lack of hidden evil. Kunikida definitely saw a side of Dazai that would make the President say “shoot him” but he didn’t even realize it because it was connected to solving the case. And when he lists off all the things he has problems with about Dazai it’s all about his unprofessional behavior and laziness and he doesn’t even mention that Dazai was so incredibly good at playing the bad guy that it didn’t feel fake. He didn’t mention the chilling aura. Dazai distracted him with all his other bad behavior.
But Ranpo must have known right? Well he certainly knew something was off about Dazai immediately after meeting him even without putting his glasses on. But I don’t think even he could have deduced Dazai’s past with the information he had. Because you have to remember that Dazai’s crimes were erased by Mushitaro’s ability and that Ranpo specializes in understanding crime scenes, not psychological profiling. Ranpo uses physical evidence for the most part and he needs knowledge of the crime to find the perpetrator. I don’t think it works the other way around. Not to mention that Fukuzawa trusts Kunikida and Kunikida said Dazai passed his entrance exam so Ranpo probably didn’t choose to look too closely at Dazai.
Anyway, the point is no one at the agency knew Dazai was in the mafia until the Guild arc. And Dazai’s interactions with the rest of the agency changed after that revelation. I think only Atsushi, Kyouka, and Kenji don’t change how they see him, because Atsushi is Atsushi, Kyouka probably already knew from when she captured him and his pep talk made her more comfortable with the idea, and Kenji is Kenji. Everyone else though? It’s a shock. And a lot of them probably just don’t know how to handle it. It helps that they got Kyouka around the same time it was revealed but Dazai had been lying to all their faces for two years at that point and he showed absolutely no remorse for that. Dazai doesn’t make a big deal of it, doesn’t try to make excuses for himself, doesn’t try to justify anything. Without him starting the conversation none of them have a way to comfortably bring up the subject. And because none of them (except Kenji) knows how to communicate in a healthy way, they just end up stewing with the information without fully processing it or acknowledging it. They’re stuck in this limbo of doubt and discomfort. It’s actually incredibly nuanced and I bet it’s all going to come to a head at some point in the near future and it’s going to be that much more satisfying for the wait.

So I feel extremely conflicted about Mary Linton and I'd love to hear your input (and maybe others people's as well) regarding this.
First of all, I love her. She's an incredible character and I understand her actions before and throughout the game. Of course she didn't stick around with the gang and Arthur. It simply wasn't the type of life she wanted for herself and that is so okay, because they're criminals after all. It's totally understandable to feel uncomfortable in that environment and it's totally understandable that she wanted a better life for her partner, in this case Arthur.
I can also get behind why she specifically wrote to him back in Valentine and Saint Denis. I don't see anything selfish behind this. She wrote to him, because he was the only person she could trust with her worries and these particular things. It's not like she forced him to help her even. When you declined the missions, she showed nothing but compassion and understanding.
Now to the conflicting part (which could absolutely just be me). Maybe I'm the problem and that is precisely why I wanna here more opinions about this. I do not like the way she talked to him.
Almost every (but not strictly every) interaction with her filled me with dread. It felt like whatever I (or in this case Arthur) did, she'd drag him down. Like the cut scene at the train station right before her and Jamie leave. She says to Arthur "Ah you'll never change"
She's justified to think that way I guess after everything that has happened, but man...I just feel like it's only adding to his already existing insecurities.
I also wanna make clear that I'm not hating on her! I love her as a character, but I just felt like absolutely dog shit whenever I talked to her and maybe a different view on the situation could change it or whatever💞
I think that is a fair thing to point, and I do agree with you, she did kind of fuel some already existing insecurities, but I think it was a moment of weakness, yk? It has been years since they met and maybe she did have a hope that he had changed only to discover he hadn't. It does hurt to hear for Arthur, I am sure, but it is worth adressing.
I will say she likely shouldn't have said it but she is good at holding Arthur responsible at his own faults, which can be annoying.
Idk how to explain it, I think I am 50/50. I can see both sides.

big baby - k.mg
>> part 2 of: treat you better - k.mg
genre: fluff; wc: 1,3k
ㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡ
..."You know, I could treat you so much better than him..."
The next morning you woke up, Mingyu's arms still wrapped around you. You tried getting out of his grasp but his grip only tightened. "Gyuuu I want to get up" you whined. "Just a little longer" he said and pulled you on top of him. Now there is no way you can get out so you just accepted your fate.
Until you had an idea. You almost felt a little bad, especially since he was sleeping so peacefully but you had to get up. You started tickling him until he let go of you. "That is SO unfair" he said laughing. He grabbed a pillow and hit you, which just escalated the situation.
You were having a pillow fight, frequently landing some hits but also receiving some. You tackled him and started tickling him again. "STOP I CAN'T ANYMORE" he said laughing histerically. You stopped and looked at him, realising you were sitting on top of your shirtless best friend.
"What's wrong?" he asked grinning at you. He knew exactly what was "wrong". In a swift motion he flipped you around so he was on top of you. Your cheeks were burning at this point and he could see that. His face slowly moved towards yours. His eyes never leaving your lips. You were mentally preparing for what was about to happen next.
You closed your eyes, trying to keep a steady breath when you felt Mingyu's breath tickle your ears. "Don't start something you can't finish" he whispered seductively. Then he hit you with a suprise attack and tickled you without showing any mercy. You laughed until your sides hurt and tears formed in your eyes.
Mingyu then stopped and got up. "Come on, let's make breakfast" he suggested. You jumped up running towards the kitchen, Mingyu following close behind you. You opened the fridge and took out some yoghurt you had. "What do you want?" you asked. "I don't know..What are you eating?" "Some yoghurt. Want some too?" "Sure"
As you guys were eating, the room fell quiet. "How do you feel?" he asked all of a sudden. You knew why he was asking that. "Right now I'm okay I guess. Maybe I'm a little hurt that he would do that, but...maybe it was a sign. A sign that he wasn't the right one you know? I certainly think the right one wouldn't cheat" you chuckled saying the last part.
"I would never cheat on you..." Mingyu whispered as quietly as he could. You heard it but pretended you didn't. "What did you say??" you asked. "Oh nothing I just agreed with you" he smiled and continued eating his yoghurt.
-3 months later-
The thing with Brian didn't bother you much anymore. More or less it still hurt your ego a bit, but other than that you were finally okay again. It happened faster than you thought it would. Maybe because Mingyu was a great help in distracting you from it, but also helping you talk about it. It seemed like all of this made your friendship even stronger than before.
You were sitting at home, wondering what to do with your life. You decided to call Mingyu to see what he was up to.
"Hello?" someone answered, someone that wasn't Mingyu "Uhm hello? Is Mingyu there?" "He's not here right now, this is Minghao speaking. Do you want me to tell him something?" the voice said. You never talked to any of his friends before. "Uhm I just wanted to know what he was up to since I'm bored" you laughed nervously. "Well, you could come visit us at practice if you want. Then we can finally get to know you better, especially since you're Mingyus girlfriend" Minghao said. "Girlfriend..?" You asked "Well, you're saved under ___ with a million hearts so I thought you're his girlfriend" Minghao said, sounding a bit embarrassed "Oh no it's okay haha, we're just best friends. Would you send me the address though?? Then I'll come visit you guys" you smiled. "Of course!! See you later then" Minghao said and shortly after sent you the address over Mingyu's phone.
You got ready, trying to look at least a bit presentable to meet the guys for the first time. I hope he tells him that I'm coming. After you got to the company you were greeted by who seems to be one of his friends . "Hey!! I'm Minghao, the one you talked to on the phone" he said and kindly greeted you. "Mingyu has been talking so much about you, we're happy we finally get to actually meet you" he happily exclaimed. "Talked about me..?" you asked with a confused look.
"I may shouldn't have said that.." he whispered and laughed. You just laughed with him until you were infront of a door. You can hear music and some people inside. "Let me go in first" he said and motioned for you to hide behind him.
"Mingyu I have a surprise for you!!" Minghao said. "Really??" you heard your best friend say before running up towards you guys. Minghao stepped out of the way and revealed you as the "suprise". "___!" Mingyu screamed and picked you up. "I'm so happy you're here" he said after you told him to let you down. "Guys this is ___ my best friend!!" he said while you just stood there awkwardly.
You sat down with some of the guys and just started talking to them. You got along with them really really well. You laughed a lot with them and came to find out that all of them are so nice. When you started talking to Seungcheol, you could feel a pair of eyes on you. You looked around and saw Mingyu glaring at you and Seungcheol.
You went back to talking and laughing with Seungcheol, talking about everything possible. Suddenly Mingyu came up behind you and put an arm around your shoulder. You turned to look at him and asked him if he was okay. "Could we maybe go out just for a second?" he asked.
You agreed and left the room. "What's wrong??" you asked. "Do you like Seungcheol?" he bursted out. "What? I've known him for literally the past 20 minutes. He seems nice but that is way too early to say you like someone" you laughed. He apologised and you guys went back in. Why would he ask me that? And why would he care?
After some more very interesting and different conversations with his friends and spending the whole day with them you decided to go home. Mingyu accompanied you on your walk. "Thanks for walking me home" you said and hugged him. "No problem" he smiled, "also uhm, I hope this isn't too weird to ask but I've been thinking about this thing for some time now.." "What thing?" you asked a bit concerned. For whatever reason your first thought was that he wanted to end the friendship. "Us. I've been thinking about us.." he started", "I thought about how happy you make me, about my feelings in general and.." he looked down, almost acting a bit embarrassed to actually say what he wanted to say. "Please Gyu, tell me what's bothering you. What are you trying to tell me??" you said and took his hands in yours. "You know you can tell me everything right?" you assured him.
"I love you yn" he blurted out. You didn't say anything at first. Seeing the lack of reaction, tears started welling up in his eyes. "I'm sorry.." he whispered, "I shouldn't hav-" you shush him, cupping his face with your hands. "Don't be sorry Gyu. There is no reason to cry, I haven't rejected you have I?" you smiled at him. Slowly you closed the gap between you two and placed a gentle kiss on his lips. It didn't last long, but it made obvious how you felt about his confession.
"I love you too, my big baby" you chuckled.

Obey Me! Hungry For You - Beelzebub x Reader N$FW
Tumblr media
AN: idk i just really felt like writing and im head over heels for this big back :lipbite:
Summary: Bro is STARVING, for ur giggles and ur pleasure (teehee)
Tumblr media
His stomach growled, so loud it echoed through his room. He hadn't ate in about fifteen minutes, and for Beel, that was too long of a gap without food. He sat up out of his bed, rubbing his aching stomach as he stared at the ceiling, listening to the sounds of his brother sleeping in the other bed.
Now hungry AND bored, he got up out of bed, taking a few steps towards Belphie's bed and nudging him. "Hey..." Beel whispered. Belphie groaned, his eyes fluttering open. "Huh-? What do you want... its so late..." The sleepy demon sighed. "M'hungry." Beel huffed, to which Belphie let out a tired giggle, "Then go get something to eat..." He responded. Thats the thing, Beel wanted to, he WAS hungry, but for some reason he wasn't really craving any of the normal food he'd usually eat. It was strange, it was almost like he had an insatiable hunger for something he didnt even knew existed.
"Mm, okay." Beel finally responded, quietly exiting the room as he patiently shut the door behind him. He wandered the halls for a few minutes, trying to figure out why he was feeling this way. He rubbed his stomach as it growled again, that hollow aching feeling only getting worse. He sighed, almost turning the corner to the kitchen when his nose picked up a smell. Something sweet, addictive almost.
"What...is that?" He said faintly.
He followed the smell, a confused look on his face when it lead him away from the kitchen, he followed it back up towards the bedrooms, a tint of pink hitting his cheeks as he realized where it was coming from.
Your room.
He tilted his head, pressing his head against your bedroom door as that sickly sweet smell bombarded his nose, causing him to almost sneeze. He assumed you were asleep, but there was no harm in knocking right?
Knock knock knock.
He heard your voice from the other side. "Come in!"
He opened the door, a small smile on his face as he saw your lovely self on the bed, you were only wearing a t-shirt and sleeping shorts, with a handful of creams on your bedside table. "What- are you doing?" He asked, seeing you rub some sort of lotion along your neck.
"Oh, this? Its moisturizer, I was about to head to bed so I thought I'd put some on. Makes my skin super smooth in the mornings, doesn't it smell nice?"
Oh, you had no idea.
"Yea, it does... Smells really nice." He said, taking a step closer.
"In fact, the reason I came up here was because I could smell it, I thought it was food." He admitted, to which you let out a giggle.
"Pfftaha! Really? Sorry Beel, you cant eat this stuff, I think you'll get sick." You smiled, holding the bottle of lotion up to your face so you could read the ingredients. As you were doing that, Beel made his way over and sat next to you, the smell was so concentrated that his head was getting fuzzy. You smelled- so good. "It smells so sweet though, how can it not be edible..?" Beel pouted, taking your hand in his and running his nose along your wrist. "Beel, I swear you cant, it'll probably taste funny." You chuckled, watching him take in your new sweet scent.
"Can I try?" He said softy, looking up at you for a moment. A tint of blush hit your cheeks. "..Try? Like, taste it?" You tilted you head, to which he nodded. "I mean, I guess, demons probably have better immune systems and-" As you went to grab the bottle of lotion, he spoke up. "--No, not from the bottle. I think... It'd taste better if I tried it while it was on you." A smile formed on his face, somewhat sweet, yet laced with something else.
Your cheeks began to burn, it was then you realized Beel had already pinned you down, gentle yet firm hands holding your wrists beside your head, his legs on either side of you. "Well, I um.." You said shyly, his hungry expression only making you more shy.
"Can I?" He asked, still being gentle. You smiled faintly, nodding.
He smiled back, leaning down, his mouth placing itself against your neck, his tongue swirling on your skin, the taste leaving a soapy yet unbelievably sweet film in his mouth. That hollow and empty pit in his stomach was now feeling much warmer. "You taste so good-"
"Beel!" You squealed, squirming gently as you scrunched up your shoulder. "What? Whats wrong?" He hunched back up immediately, his lips still wet from his own saliva. "It tickles..." You said sheepishly.
There was a sudden sensation in his stomach as you said that, it felt good. Like if he had just taken a bite of ice cream. "Oh." Was all he said as he leaned back down, hungry for more. "Wait! B-Beheheel!" His mouth returned back onto your neck, his tongue gliding along your skin. Your giggly laughter only cause his insides to warm up even more.
The taste of your skin, the sound of your laughter, that was it. Beel could feel himself growing more hungry for it as time passed, he let your wrists go as his hands shot down, gently digging into your sides. You yelped, your back arching as giggles practically flew from your mouth. "AhAH- nohoho! Beheheel!" You squealed, feeling his mouth work its way up to your ear, where he began sucking and licking along the rim of it. "So sweet..." He muttered, "Your laugh, your taste... let me have some more, please? Just for a bit, m'kay? Still hungry..." He mumbled in your ear, so faint you could barely hear it over your own giggles.
His hands travelled down to your hips, thumbs hooking right into the crooks as they massaged into your grooves, causing a new wave of laughter to emerge from your throat. "NAHAH-! Beheheheel! Ihih-! Ihihi cahahant..!" You pleaded, still scrunching up your shoulders from that damned tongue swirling around your ear. "You can, see..? You're doing it right now... I'm not done yet, still need to have dessert..." He said that as his knee pressed between you legs, causing your breath to hitch as you went back to laughing.
Finally his mouth moved from your ear, his teeth hooking onto your shirt as he growled, ripping it down the middle with those demonic canines of his. He ogled at your shirtless figure and your laughing teary eyed face, since your poor hips were still being destroyed by just his two thumbs. He watched as your tits bounced as you laughed, almost unaware that your shirt was off, until you felt his hot lips surrounding your right nipple, and the hands on your hips slowly stopping their torment. "B-Beel... Ah! Fuck..!" You moaned, shooting a wave of warmth through his once empty stomach.
"So... sweet..." He said between sucks, his tongue targeting the tip of your nipple as he flicked it. But it still wasn't enough, this was barely a snack to him, he needed a meal. His now free hands moved to your thighs, spreading him apart as he watched you gasp, his mouth still on your breast. You could feel a finger pushing the fabric of your shorts covering your now hot and aching mound to the side. The smell radiating off of you, from down there, it was killing him. He raised his head off of your breast, meeting you face to face as he stared down at your teary eyes.
"I'd like dessert now." He said with so much lust in his eyes you could've sworn this was Asmodeus.
You only nodded, which made him smile.
His tongue trailed down your chest, then down your stomach, causing you to giggle, getting a sweet chuckle out of him too. His teeth bit down on the waist band of your shorts, ripping it with ease as he tossed them to the side, his hands holding your hips down as your legs hung on his shoulders.
He stared at your mound, taking in that addictive scent, his hunger only building as he was practically drooling. You felt a gentle tongue swipe up between your lips, flicking against your clit. A shot of pleasure shooting through your body, to which he did it again, and again. It was almost like he was licking a lollypop, he did say this was dessert after all.
"Beel-! Haaa! I- fuck..!" You writhed in pleasure, the torturous licks driving you insane. As if he was reading your mind, you felt as his tongue plunged its way between your folds, letting the taste of you coat the inside of his mouth as his lips sucked away at your clit.
You cried out, attempting to arch your back but to no avail. That man had an iron grip on you at this point. "So... So fucking good..." He said between his sucks and kisses. His tongue swirled around inside you, you could feel it rubbing along your walls, then it'd be back on your clit, circling it and rubbing right on the tip. "Beel! Please..!" You moaned out as he continued to feast.
"Still hungry." Was all he said, you then felt those hands on your hips begin to massage in those hypersensitive crooks, causing you to break out into laughter as you moaned. "NAHAha! Beheheel! Fuhuck- noho! Nhh!" You begged, tears streaming down your face as his mouth made your stomach do backflips. But he just didn't stop, his mouth kept delving deeper into your folds as his thumbs drilled into your hips.
You moaned out as you pleaded once more. "Beel! I cahahant-! Im gohonna cum! Please!" Laughter mixed with your moans, the overstimulation was killing you, but you've never felt more alive. "Thats alright, cum, I need to taste more of you..." He mumbled with his head still pressed between your legs, you groaned as you felt the rush of warmth shoot out from your lips, coating his in the process. You could hear him slurping up all of it, licking it off your inner thighs.
"Gosh.. I.. wahAHaH! Nhh! BehHEheel!?" Another wave of laughter and moans emerged as his hands and mouth began once more. "Sorry, I'm still hungry." You could hear the sadistic tone in his voice.

Hello, how are you?
So, I kept thinking about your post of Riddle being an stolen child just like Rapunzel and came up with a crazy theory...
So, we know Mrs. Rosehearts planned Riddle's life even before he was born, but what if something happened and the original Riddle died (could be overblot, miscarriage or simply a magic mishap just like Rollo's brother).
Then, mad with grief, she ends up stealing a child, changing their hair colour and pretending that nothing ever happened, though being extra controlling to make sure nothing goes wrong again.
Her husband knows, though, and their relationship is now strained.
You can even Riddle be a lost prince by that logic. With the only reason that he's still alive being his lineage, which meant he could keep up with the training and only overblotted at 17.
(Maybe the royal family blamed the disappearance on the fae too, so political tension with Briar Valley).
Guess we'll have to wait and see what February has in store for us, but I really loved this idea of yours and hope it comes true!
ahhh! it was kinda a joke at first but i really love the theory because Riddle is constantly compared to royalty being the “queen of hearts” of Heartslyabul and when Malleus called him a king so the idea of him being a prince is exciting!
i feel like it could be revealed later in the story because right now it seems like way too big a deal and could overshadow the objective of Chapter 7. but the new Tangled event could drop lots of hints. there’s still so much we don’t know about the world and the characters yet, there’s so much more to explore and i know they’re going to drop even more wild bombshells in the future.
riddle as the replacement son is CRAZY but i could see it happening… remember in chapter 6 riddle said that he doesn’t know if he was born with innate talent or if all his talent was only developed through rigorous hard work, and i think that’s an interesting detail that they included and i wonder if they’ll go back to that because what if he is magically talented because of his lineage? he’s expressed before that he comes from a family of normal mages and has no connection to nobility so like… is there a bigger reason to keep emphasizing how much of a “regular guy” he is? 🤔
thanks for your ask because now i have lots of thoughts

not so dead after all
for @steddiemicrofic prompt ‘rose’
rated m | 367 words | cw: blood drinking, technically temporary MCD | tags: came back wrong, vampire Eddie Munson, pre-relationship, first kiss, robin is the only one with any sense
🧛🧛🧛🧛🧛🧛🧛🧛🧛🧛
“This feels very…Dracula.”
“You’re making jokes? Eddie’s standing in front of us dead and you’re making jokes?!” Steve feels insane. Robin is referencing a fictional vampire while Eddie, who has definitely been dead for six months, is standing right there, watching them.
“I don’t think he’s so dead after all,” Robin says.
“No shit!”
Eddie hasn’t said anything since they first opened the door and shrieked in his face. That’s understandable since they…shrieked in his face.
They dragged him into Steve’s house and they’ve been staring at him since, waiting to see if he dissolves into nothing or they wake up from this shared dream. Neither of those things happen.
“So…you…rose from the dead?” Robin asks Eddie.
“I don’t know if I’m alive,” Eddie admits.
“Okay. Cool. So you’re a ghost?” Steve thinks that’s a fair assumption to make based on how pale he is and also the fact that he was previously dead.
“No. Definitely more vampire craving your blood,” Eddie says calmly.
“Steve’s blood? My blood? Anyone’s?” Robin takes a few steps back even though she’s kept her distance since he walked inside.
“Steve’s. I guess anyone’s would do, but his smells best.” Eddie sniffs the air. “Like wine and honey and chocolate.”
“My blood smells like that?” Steve winces. “Gross.”
“Far from it, big boy,” Eddie laughs. “But I have self control so. You’re safe.”
“How do you know?” Robin asks. A good question since it looks like this is the first place Eddie stopped when he came back to life.
“Because I’ve been smelling it for months and haven’t attacked him yet. Pretty sure I would’ve by now.”
“Months?” Robin and Steve ask at the same time.
“It’s been torture.”
“So will it…help?”
Robin smacks his arm. “You cannot offer your blood to Eddie until we figure out what’s going on!”
“Maybe it’ll help us figure it out! Just call Hop so he can be on his way if something goes wrong.”
“You’re serious?” Eddie steps closer.
“Might as well. Hope I taste as good as I smell.”
Robin fusses. Eddie bites Steve’s neck.
Steve’s knees buckle. Eddie holds him.
“Feeling very alive right now,” Eddie says when he’s done.
Steve kisses him.

batfam sick fic (proofread)
818 words: my base idea posted as well, oooh fun right? tw i guess for talks of incorrect medicine use. I swear in this, so yeah be warned
@coal-or-something helped me (watched me write and go insane, occasionally helped with grammar)
Bruce powers through anything like a fucking truck Dick can power through it but chooses to be a baby about it (for the bit) Jason is much like bruce but is more noticeable, will refuse to be taken care of Tim doesn’t have a spleen he gets sick like unable to leave bed sick, refuses treatment best he can and tries to keep working Steph is stubborn and confident, can and will make her own damn soup but due to being sick it doesn't go very well Damian doesn't get sick very often but when he does he will refuse to admit it to the point of making it worse for himself Duke Thomas probably knows what to do best (other then alfred) Cass was homeless for 9 years, so used to being sick and just ignoring it. So very used to being sick and just forcing herself not to be due to her dad then her time on the streets
Different scenarios of them being sick, all, same level of sick to start, same symptoms
Bruce cannot slow down or take a break ever, and it was becoming more and more apparent as he refused to pause his typing for a coughing fit. Despite Alfreds warnings about it will only get worse. The only compromise he made was not attending a brunch and instead using that time for a nap, mainly because he didn’t have the energy to mask at all.
Dick at the first sign of his cold immediately canceled his plans, sure he was still gonna go be Nightwing but he needed the days to rest! He was sick, he needed soup and tea with extra honey to help his sore throat.
Jason refuses to let anybody near him while he's sick, he knows they’ll do something, whether it's trying to hurt him in his vulnerable state or worse, take care of him. He didn’t need extra blankets or hot drinks, he needed to stop being weak and just get through this, any guidelines on the cold meds? Ignored. He's chugging the bottle in one go. He needs to feel better. Very often nightwing can find him accidentally high and loopy since he took ten times over the recommended dose, the only reason he isn’t dead is because he is a tank of man.
Tim is doing everything he can to ward off the sickness at the first sneeze, wearing a face mask, washing everything he owns as often as he can, when he gets sick he gets sick. One of the many cons of not having a spleen.
It does help but not by much, he still gets sick and is immediately bed ridden for his own safety, he can and will seriously hurt himself trying to work like this.
Damian since i can’t write steph very well yet
Damian is the one who got sick first, not that he would admit it to even himself, yes he is drinking more tea, but only because he likes the way Alfred makes it, nothing more nothing less, he scoffs at the idea of taking a break, he did not need a break since he was not sick, no matter what father or any of his siblings said, they were all wrong. No matter how much he overslept for school he would show up anyways.
Cass is very nervous about getting sick, it makes her weak. After nearly a decade on the street she knows how bad it is to be out of commission, being sick meant working harder just to eat as your body screamed at you just to lay down. Being sick at the Wayne Manor was very different, actual medicine, warm food, not needing to force her body to keep moving when all she wanted was to collapse. Bed rest for once isn't forced, she wants a nap and a rest.
Okay i see her as stubborn but more understanding of when she needs to give in. sure when she first started getting sick, much like the others just ignored and medicated. Once she started getting more sick? Actually takes it easy instead of brute forcing her way through it. Is she going to go on bedrest? Hell the fuck no but shes gonna make herself a nice little treat.
Duke Thomas, the only one to actually take the recommended amount of medicine and not just the entire thing, he's keeping track of what times he ate and how much, making sure to wash his hands more often and all that shit
i was gonna write more but uh, no :3

Bloodthirst ⭑˚💋⭑ 𝑔𝑒𝑡 𝑠𝑐ℎ𝑜𝑜𝑙𝑒𝑑
bnha x vampire!reader
reverse harem, my hero academia x fem!reader, my vampire!reader, slowburn
Tumblr media
As punishment for your sins, you, a young vampire, are banished — not just from your home, but to a different world entirely. Now, you find yourself in a foreign place where Quirks and heroes are the norm. In addition to coming to terms with your new life, you must also face your greatest challenge: controlling your massive thirst for blood.
previous | story masterlist | next
It was a few days into your stay in this new world, and you’d finally managed to get your hands on the magical device known as a cellphone.
“How does it work?” you asked, eyes wide as you looked it over from all angles. You tapped on its screen, but nothing happened. “Mine doesn’t light up the way the others do. Did they sell us a faulty product?”
Izuku giggled. “It’ll turn on, don’t worry. You just need to plug it in so it can charge, like this... and you hold down the power button for it to start up.”
He fiddled with a cable that plugged directly into the device on one end, then into the wall, through what Izuku had called an “outlet”. You weren’t familiar with any of this stuff, so it may as well have been sorcery to you.
But true to Izuku’s words, the phone’s screen eventually lit up, and all sorts of vibrant colors and patterns soon graced your eyes.
“Wow!” you gushed. “How does it do that? It looks so cool!”
“This is just where technology is at in this world,” Izuku shrugged. “Cellphones used to be a lot more basic, just for making calls and sending texts, but now they’ve become mini computers. They can do a lot of really sophisticated stuff.”
“What’s a computer?”
“Ah... right. I guess I should have expected that.” He pointed towards the end of his room, towards what looked to be another screen, but way bigger than the cellphone’s. “Computers are devices that are really smart. They’re programmed that way. You can look up all kinds of information with them, play games, watch videos... there’s really no end to the possibilities. Cellphones are really convenient because they act like computers, but they’re portable, so you can carry them around with you wherever you go. It’s pretty neat, huh?”
“This is life-changing,” you mumbled breathlessly.
Izuku laughed. “Yeah, you could definitely say that. Here, I’ll teach you how to use your phone. It sounds more complicated than it actually is, I promise.”
That was what he said, but it sure didn’t turn out that way for you. There were so many different little features on screen. Some of them did things when you tapped on them; others didn’t. Izuku was doing his best to show you how everything worked, but it was such a staggering difference from what you were used to that it was just too much to take in all at once.
Not only that, but you quickly realized you had another problem.
“For the time being, I’m going to add myself as a contact,” Izuku said. He tapped on the screen a few times—not that you could really make sense of it—then eventually passed the phone back to you, smiling brightly. “See? You have your first contact now. That’s my name right there.”
You blinked. “What does it say?”
“Hm? What do you mean? It’s my name. Midoriya Izuku.”
“No, I mean... I can tell there’s something written there, but I can’t read it. The symbols don’t make any sense to me.”
Panic was quick to creep onto Izuku’s expression. “You can’t read kanji? Or hiragana? But... you’ve been speaking in fluent Japanese this entire time.”
“I’m not even really sure how that happened either. It might be a side-effect of the spell that brought me to this world, but I was able to understand the language pretty quickly just by hearing it a few times. I definitely don’t know how to read or write, though.”
“Oh, well... that’s not good,” Izuku swallowed, and it was clear that he was putting it lightly. For better or worse, this country, Japan, was your home now. You were kind of screwed if you didn’t have the ability to grasp written forms of communication.
Izuku pursed his lips, clearly lost in thought, then grabbed a blank piece of paper and placed it front of you. He’d brought some pencils as well.
“Try writing your name,” he suggested. “If you were able to understand our language just by being exposed to it, maybe it’s the same with reading and writing too. Maybe it’ll come to you much quicker than you think.”
You decided there was no harm in trying, so you did just that.
“This is how you write my name,” you smiled proudly, lifting up the paper so that Izuku could see it better.
Regretfully, he just looked even more worried than before. “I-I’ve definitely never seen anything like this before,” he stammered. “I’m pretty sure there’s no language like this anywhere on Earth. Then again, I guess that’s not surprising, since you’re literally from a whole different world...”
You frowned, then took another peek back at the contact Izuku had saved on your phone. No matter how hard you tried, you failed to understand how the symbols he’d inputted were meant to translate. You were lucky to have grasped the spoken language right away, otherwise you would’ve probably been speaking in gibberish on the streets and people would have thought you were insane. Unfortunately, as for reading and writing, it looked like you were going to have to learn it the hard way.
“I’ll do my best to teach you the basics,” Izuku reassured. “But, um... while you’re here, I think it’d be good to consider going to school. You’ll learn everything you need there. And there’s a limit to what I can teach you all on my own.”
“School sounds fun,” you beamed.
“Have you been to school before?”
“Not really. My parents hired various tutors to teach me academics back at home.”
“R-Right. I guess royalty have a different way of doing things. But,” he perked up, “I’m sure you probably received a really solid education, so you’ll have no trouble picking things up here. It might seem intimidating at first, but you’re smart, [Name]. I’m sure you’ll be able to figure it out.”
“How do you know that I’m smart?” you asked.
“Well... aren’t you?”
“Am I?”
You both stared at each other for a good while. Clearly, this was a stalemate.
“Anyways!” Izuku continued. “I’m going to start with the foundation of all the basics. And you can learn to write your name while we’re doing this. It’ll be a good first step.”
You gripped your pencil tight and nodded, eager to learn.
Tumblr media
Japanese was hard. Actually, you supposed you should say that learning a new language from scratch was hard in and of itself, but based on what Izuku had told you, Japanese was one of the most difficult languages to learn in this world—especially for a non-native speaker.
So, yeah. That was great.
Even so, you weren’t deterred in the slightest. It wasn’t like there was much you could do about it, after all. Moving to a different country all of a sudden certainly wasn’t an option, plus, you weren’t willing to sever your connection with Izuku either. This was your home now, and you had a good feeling about this place. You just needed to put in the effort to make it your own.
Izuku did what he could to teach you, but attending school was obviously the most efficient approach. Actually getting into school, however, was a different matter altogether. You’d initially been thinking that your stay with Izuku would be a temporary one, but you were already afraid of being separated from him. You didn’t know what you would do if you were left alone. Teenagers like you weren’t allowed to live on their own, so most likely, you would end up being placed in an orphanage since no one was around to take care of you.
Frankly speaking, you hated the thought of that, so you decided to pull out all the stops and come clean to Inko.
“I’m from a different world,” you blurted all too suddenly over dinner. Izuku’s food quite literally fell out of his mouth from shock, and Inko gave you a funny look, although she didn’t seem too worked up over it. She probably just thought you were saying silly things as a joke.
“Is this some sort of reference I’m not getting?” she frowned.
“N-No,” you said sheepishly. “I’m really telling the truth. I didn’t want you to try and contact the police or anything because I don’t even have a family to return to. At least, not in this world. I ended up here one day, and Izuku was nice enough to help me out when I had nowhere to go. I was thinking of keeping this a secret because I figured I would only be staying here for a little while... but I’m honestly scared to leave. I don’t know where I’ll go.”
Inko probably still didn’t believe you, but her expression seemed more solemn now.
“[Name],” she said gently. “What’s going on at home? You can tell me. No matter what it is, I’ll do everything in my power to make sure you’re safe.”
Ah. She still thought you came from a complicated family, and probably assumed you didn’t want to go back home to be around your parents. If you went with that story, though, at some point, you worried she really would get the authorities involved.
No. Even if it was a long-shot, you needed to convince her. She was Izuku’s mom, and he already knew your secret. You just hoped that even though she was an adult, she wouldn’t dismiss you as some troubled teen making up excuses.
“[Name], wait,” Izuku mumbled, but you’d already stepped out of your chair and begun moving closer to Inko.
She watched, looking confused beyond measure, as you opened up your mouth and revealed your teeth, which sharpened into fangs. You knew it would probably take more than this to convince her, but it was a start, at least.
“I’m a vampire,” you said. “I need to drink blood to survive. My world is very different from this one, filled with all kinds of creatures and different species that don’t exist over here.”
Inko swallowed uncomfortably. “[Name], I’m not sure where you’re going with this, but I really, really want you to be honest with me. You don’t need to make up stories. What exactly is going on with you and your family?”
“I wish it was a story,” you sighed heavily. “My parents aren’t with me. They’re back in my old world. Vampires like me are pretty strong and heal quickly too. Don’t you think it’s weird how fast my injuries healed up? I got hurt pretty bad, two days in a row, but I’m already as good as new.”
Instead of giving you a direct answer, Inko glanced towards her son, who had gone awfully quiet.
“Izuku,” she frowned. She seemed to be searching his expression for some sort of explanation. “[Name], what is she—?”
“She’s telling the truth,” Izuku mumbled. “Mom, I know it all sounds super ridiculous, but I don’t like to lie to you. [Name] doesn’t even know how to read or write. Not just in Japanese, but in any language, for that matter. She has no clue about how technology works either. You could ask her when the second World War took place, or even what it is, and she wouldn’t have a clue.”
Inko’s bottom lip trembled. “What the... t-this is all sounding very strange, you two. Izuku! Are you sure your friend is alright? This a serious matter, so I’m begging you, don’t play games with me.”
“It’s not a game, mom. We’re serious.”
“About vampires? But that’s just not possible.”
“I could show you if you want,” you offered. “Izuku’s let me drink his blood before, back when I really needed it.”
Oops. Perhaps that wasn’t the best thing to say to a mother, especially when it involved her own son, but Izuku backed up your statement with a hasty nod—all the while blushing profusely.
“My parents don’t exist in this world,” you continued, looking a bit more dejected now. “I promise I’m not lying. I didn’t even know about Quirks or any of that until Izuku explained them to me. You could call just about all the police in the country, but I can guarantee that nobody will be able to register me anywhere. It’s a crazy situation, and I know how it sounds, but it is the truth.”
She’d gone completely silent, and you were actually a bit worried that she was going to turn you in and have you committed to some sort of mental institution, but thankfully, Inko really was Izuku’s mom. She was kind to a fault.
Her shoulders sagged. “Goodness... I-I don’t even know what to say. Okay, then. Let’s say for the sake of argument that I believe you. I would still want some sort of proof.”
“Hm... you could wait it out for a little while and see how close I’ll get to dying if I don’t drink any blood?”
Both Inko and Izuku stared back at you in abject terror. Okay, so that suggestion was a dud.
“I could hurt myself really bad and then show you how quickly I heal up once I do drink blood?”
Strange. They didn’t seem too keen on that one either.
“In that case, I’m fresh out of ideas,” you shrugged.
“Mom, we’re really telling the truth,” Izuku insisted. “I don’t even know if it can really be proven, but [Name] knows nothing about our world. It just doesn’t seem like something that would be possible unless she wasn’t actually from here. She has nowhere to go. If you call the cops, social services, or whatever... she’ll be alone. And afraid. And I really don’t want that for her."
Inko stared at you for a few good moments. Out of nowhere, she gripped you by the shoulders and squeezed down tight.
“I’ll only ask this one more time,” she said sternly. “Your family... they haven’t done anything to make you too afraid to go back home? Enough that you would make up a crazy story like this to convince me to let you stay?”
You smiled. “Nope. I’m not scared of my parents. I can’t say they’re as nice as you, but I didn’t leave home voluntarily. One day, I’m going to find a way to get back to my world, no matter what it takes.”
Inko let out a shuddering breath. “It... really doesn’t look like you’re lying. At the very least, I can’t see it in your eyes. Or maybe you’re just a terribly good liar and have me completely fooled. Oh, alright. If you really have nowhere else to go, and since you’re the first friend Izuku’s had in a long time... then, yes. You can keep staying here with us.”
It hardly took a second for you and Izuku to break out into cheers.
“Yes!” you exclaimed, rushing towards your friend and wrapping him in a big hug. He reacted with a nervous little squeak and a bright red flush, the way he always did, but he too seemed to share your enthusiasm. “We get to stay together,” you grinned. “I don’t have to leave and find somewhere else to live! I’m so happy!”
“Y-Yeah!” he beamed back. “This is great news! Thank you so much, mom! Thank you for helping us out.”
Inko smiled warmly. “It was worth it just to see the looks on your faces, if nothing else. I still don’t even know what I believe... but I can tell [Name] is a good girl. For now, that’s more than enough.”
“Oh, right,” Izuku blinked in realization. “She needs to attend school. That’s the whole reason she wanted to tell you the truth. If she goes to school with me, she can learn a whole lot more about our world this way. I’m trying to teach her as much as I can, but it’s harder than I expected.”
“School? Well, I can try enrolling her into your middle school, but I’m pretty sure I’d have to be her legal guardian for that to work.” Inko nibbled on her lower lip. “It’ll be difficult to obtain those documents, especially if there’s no record of [Name] to begin with. I’m not sure how it’ll go.”
“It’s worth a shot,” you grinned, completely unbothered.
You were on cloud nine right now, and it was going to be damn hard to dash your spirits. Which was why, the very next day, you dressed up all pretty in one of your new outfits and made a prompt visit to Izuku’s middle school, which you would hopefully be attending soon.
Both Inko and Izuku had come along with you, naturally, and you found yourself face to face with the school’s principal.
Currently, he was staring down at your admission documents with a puzzled expression. “Different last name, I see. Mrs. Midoriya, do you have legal guardianship of this child?”
“N-Not yet,” Inko stammered out. “But she’s been staying at our home for the last little while. I can provide proof of our living conditions, and she’s been properly taken care of.”
“Well, can you get in contact with the child’s family?”
“My whole family’s dead,” you chimed in—a bit too eagerly, perhaps. “Izuku and his mom are, um... very, very, very distant friends of one of my late relatives, so they took me in.”
The principal gave you a look of disbelief. “Uh-huh. Well, my hands are tied here. It sounds like a complicated situation, but I can’t very well allow someone to enroll a child that they don’t have legal custody of. Sort out the matter in court first, and try to transfer in later.”
From what Izuku had told you, these legal matters could take a long time, and quite frankly, you didn’t feel like waiting. There was also the issue of getting other people involved. You didn’t need anyone poking their nose into your business and realizing how many things about you just didn’t add up. It would raise a whole lot of undue suspicion. Worst case scenario, the authorities would take you away from Izuku by force.
There was no chance you were going to let that happen. But thankfully, you had an idea.
Admittedly, a reckless one.
You turned towards Izuku and Inko with a smile. “Do you two mind waiting outside for a minute? I just want to try and talk to this nice man on my own.”
“Sorry, kid,” the principal sighed. “No matter what you say to me, my answer will be the same. I’m not looking to get in trouble with the law.”
Your smile didn’t drop, and although Izuku and Inko were staring at you with visible confusion, you still gestured for them to leave the room first.
Once you were finally alone with the principal, you leaned across the desk. “Sorry about this,” you mumbled quietly.
“Huh? What are you—?”
You grabbed him by the arm before he could get a proper reply out, then sunk your fangs into his skin. He briefly yelped out from the pain, of course, but you didn’t drink very much blood from him. You didn’t need a lot. After all, you had a different purpose in mind.
“You’re crazy,” he winced. “Absolutely crazy. I’m really going to call the police now.”
“Don’t you dare,” you ordered, and the man’s hand dropped right as he reached for his phone. You could feel your head throbbing, the way it always did when you tried to use this technique, but at least it seemed to be working. “Here’s what’s going to happen,” you smiled. “You’re going to let me attend this school, and the same class as Izuku, too. You’re not going to stir up a fuss and demand that Inko shows you the paperwork, and you’re also not going to tell anyone about what just happened. You’re going to forget I ever bit you, actually. All you need to do is approve my enrollment, and that’s that.”
You snapped your fingers, and just like that, the hypnosis came undone.
“W-What?” he blinked, glancing all over the place in confusion. “I was just... what did I...?”
“You were just about to celebrate the fact that I’m starting classes tomorrow,” you beamed. “Right?”
He stared at you for a few moments, with a vague look of understanding, but eventually nodded his head, suddenly much more sure of himself.
“Oh, yes!” he beamed. “That’s right. [Last Name][Name]… ah, perfect. Yes, it looks like everything I need is in order. And you can start classes as early as tomorrow, you said?”
“Yep! I’m super excited to meet everyone and make tons of friends!”
“That’s a good attitude to have. I’m thrilled to welcome you to your new school, [Name]. I’m sure the other members of our faculty will feel the same way once they find out.”
“Awesome! I’ll get plenty of sleep tonight, so that I can be ready for school bright and early,” you grinned. “Thanks so much for everything, Mr. Nice Principal. It was lovely to meet you!”
The principal chuckled softly and waved you off, up until you left his office. Only once the door fully shut did he allow himself to wince, then rolled up his sleeve and furrowed his brows in confusion.
“Are these... bite marks? How in the world...”
Back on your side of the door, Izuku was all over you, fretting incessantly. “[N-Name], are you okay? It sounded like he got angry with you for a moment... we thought we heard yelling. As expected, it’s a no-go, huh?”
“What are you talking about? He approved my admission.”
“Eh?”
Both Izuku and Inko were staring at you in bewilderment. Your head was still aching quite a bit, and it would probably continue to do so for a little while, but it was worth it. You normally hated putting people under the effects of your hypnosis after drinking some of their blood. It felt like a slimy thing to do, and it kind of was, but you really wanted to go to school with Izuku. It was just this one time. Just this once.
“Don’t worry about it,” you grinned. “I have my ways.”
You said that, but you’d been lucky that it had even worked, since you weren’t very good at using hypnosis to begin with. Maybe this was fate, though. There was that saying that everything happened for a reason, after all.
Izuku peered over at you while you walked through the halls, his eyes slowly narrowing. “Um... [Name]. That’s not blood on your lips... is it?”
“Hehe. Oopsie.”
“What did you do?!”
Tumblr media
It wasn’t at all uncommon that Katsuki found himself in a bad mood, but he’d been in an especially bad mood these past couple of days.
And it was all your damn fault.
Finding out that Izuku had somehow made a friend was already irritating enough, but to make matters even worse, you’d gotten on his damn nerves and challenged him to a fight. A fight that hadn’t gone as planned, as much as he hated to admit it. He’d underestimated you. Clearly, you were a lot stronger than you looked, which begged the question as to why you hung out with that goddamn loser.
Then again, you seemed to be one hell of a weirdo yourself. Katsuki still shuddered every now and then when he remembered the way you’d greedily slurped up his blood. Seriously, who did that?
My shitty mom screamed at me for hours after I got back home looking all beat-up like that... fucking hell. If I ever see that bitch again, I’m gonna make her regret messing with me.
Katsuki rubbed at his bruised face and grimaced. Class was as damn boring as always, and it didn’t help that he could see that shitty nerd fidgeting in his seat out of the corner of his eye. What the hell did he have to be so restless about? It was fucking creepy.
“Ahem,” the teacher said, clearing his throat all of a sudden. “It’s a bit unexpected during this time of year, but I’d like to take a moment to introduce a new student to our class. Everyone please be sure to give her a warm welcome. You can come in now, by the way!”
The door slid open, and Katsuki yawned loudly, tears prickling the corners of his eyes. As if he could care less about whichever extra was joining the class.
“Hi, everyone!”
Katsuki’s eyes widened. That voice. He knew that voice.
A pathetic wheeze left his mouth, and he couldn’t help the way his jaw dropped nearly all the way to the ground. There was no way. There was just no way.
And yet there you were, grinning and waving at everyone, with so much as a care in the world.
It was only until your eyes locked with his that your expression changed, but it didn’t shift into discomfort or fear.
Instead, you openly smirked at him.
“You fucking bitch!” Katsuki roared, slamming his palms down on the table loud enough that everyone turned their heads.
The teacher gave him a cross look. “Come on, Bakugou. Let’s not start this early in the morning. Be nice to your new classmate.”
“That’s right,” you kept on smirking. “I’m excited to be friends with everyone, including you. Don’t you feel the same way?”
Katsuki officially had a new person on his shit list.
