normalize putting a massive spoiler warning in YouTube comments I clicked on a horizon video cause I was curious and I looked down and the very top comment is “if you go to the place where (not gonna say cause spoiler for the 1 person who sees this and is playing horizon forbidden west)” which was probably a major plot point and now I feel stupid for clicking on a video about things to do after you beat the story

does anybody know if any good video games have been invented. for the switch. i like story-based or puzzle games or things that are weird. not big on games with lots of fighting or turn-based but may be persuaded. i do like games where i can explore and talk to people. NO shooters.

It's honestly so scary how much peters story is kind of paralleling his otto's story in the first game with the descent into rage, violence and possibly evil due to an obsession over a goal coupled with a really unfortunate personality altering external force that they still want to keep because of the power and assurance it gives them.. and then also their mentees will have to fight them because there's no way miles isn't going to have to battle peter with his electric powers at some point and it's gonna be such an INSANE parallel I will start crying and afterwards what's gonna happen how's peter gonna deal with that huh. the gameboy advance sp is one of the best handhelds nintendo ever made if not one of the greatest of all time from any company and this is a hill I'm willing to die on

#playstation handhelds were too ahead of their time to really be appreciated #and the ds is fine but i think the ds peaked at the ds lite though you could make an arguement for the dsi xl #but the gba sp? it held a charge for forever was very portable was comfortable to hold had basic but practical controls #you could even adjust the screen brightness while in game which you couldnt do on other subsequent systems #without turning the ds off then back on and resetting the brightness. the 3ds brought that feature back but you still have to go to the menu #and ik people will be like ohhhhh the nintendo switch is so good though!#but consider: the gba could actually play madden games and the switch can't even do that #like if the little tiny baby gameboy could manage i think its great great great great whatever grandchild should be able to as well #hell even the wii could play madden. it just had shittier graphics than say the ps2 or xbox #though tbh i think the switch sucks as a handheld. switch lite is fine if you like having to replace your entire system #when inevitably the stupid built in joycons break. but as a handheld its basically a glorified 3ds without a camera. fine whatever #but the standard v1 and v2 and OLED? babygirl those are consoles. and not even particularly good ones at that #the wii u walked so the switch could trip and fall flat on its face and hide the injuries under Breath of the Wild colored bandages #ANYWAYS sorry for the rant ive been overdosing on cough syrup by accident because i read the dose thingy wrong!!! and im very sick atm #but also very happy to be done working at gamestop FOREVER!!! also sidenote but the best console atm is probably xbox series x or ps4 #ps5 is fine and even has good console exclusives but like. its just a glorified ps4 if im being honest. xbox one is evil #because xbox one has The Power Brick of Overheating and im scared of it. also it has too manh versions. one s one x WHATEVER give me a break #gray speaks

you know i had a fun little vp idea i wanted to do for the cyberpunk anniversary but i haven't had the energy to even touch it recently so i'll just settle with saying that this game impacted me in ways i never thought it would when i first picked it up 3 years ago. i knew i would enjoy it, i had been looking forward to it for a long time, and despite a ~controversial~ launch, i had a fucking blast from day 1 (on ps4 no less). regardless of bugs and memes and public dunking, the story grabbed me like nothing else could at the time, and it reignited so much of my passion and motivation for art that i had lost in the clutches of mental illness and i'll always be grateful for that. it introduced me to so many wonderful people (some whom i carry very close to my heart), and maybe most personally surprising, it gave me an outlet to understand parts of myself that i had been too afraid to acknowledge for a long time, the courage to accept and embrace myself as non-binary, and allow myself to just BE without trying to convince myself i'm crazy. that's not what i expected from the get-go but it's been a really fun journey to be on ngl

#yeah this fandom been a little rocky in places but i would be lying if i said this community here wasn't special to me #so much love and passion and creativity to be around and be inspired by #so many people who have been impacted by this silly little heartwrenching game #devs who have poured their heart into it to deliver something genuinely incredible #its one of those strange things that really did fully change the trajectory of this little leg of my life #to think that until 3 years ago i hadn't even touched art in a decade #now there are lovely people who want to spend money on my work #3 years ago i bought my first (and only) refurbished ps4 to play this game and now im sitting on a fancy gaming laptop #ive said it before but vp has been such an important creative outlet too #its allowed me to live my dreams of being a film director. a cinematographer. a writer.#the whole game has let me be so damn self-indulgent sometimes i feel like a kid again just unashamedly playing barbie #finding the JOY of just. creating.#i learned so much about myself through an OC because of this game #it went from 'huh what is this feeling? gender envy?' to being like full blown 'oh yea. i get it now.' so much of my life makes sense kfslf #and i met people who mean the world to me on top of it all #woof anyways #i know i say it a lot but genuinely thank u to yall who have encouraged me and supported me and who enjoy the things that i make #youve made such a difference in my life without knowing it!

Is it weird that I'm kind of interested in the upcoming Witcher game, if you get to play as Ciri? Shallow though it may be, my main gripe with Witcher III was, "ew, I don't want to play as a man!"

That's like the biggest reason I never started my own play-through, after watching a lot of my brother's. (Also debilitating executive dysfunction, but, y'know.)

I also just felt it was kind of overall bleak and depressing, though I DID like the parts that took place in bustling cities/towns. (I think I might like Assassin's Creed, but my brother never had it, so 🤷🏻‍♀️)

But anyway I don't even game, and it's probably not going to be released for Switch or ps3, which is what i have access to.

#also if i had money to spend i don't think I'd want to spend it on a video game #i do wonder if there's a way to mod a ps3 into a gaming pc?#but that's probably beyond me. and again. i don't even game!!#I've noticed I'm kind of all-or-nothing when it comes to playing video games #and if I have other stuff going on in my life my attention probably will be on that instead of a game #plus i get immersed in every kind of media too easily and I'm scared getting sucked into a video game could ruin my life #by elise #the witcher 4 #ciri #crazy that there are 'straight' men who get mad about shit like this #oh you don't like looking at women?#if i ever DO get into this game i will be SO annoying about it #i don't care about geralt i don't care about the lore!!!! i care about women being badass!#i remember my brother being like 'well you can SOMETIMES play as Ciri in tw3...'#like no you don't understand. i don't want to have to play as a man ever.#lol i just realized the ps i from my brother is a ps4 not ps3 😅#either way i doubt it will be supported

in very serious danger of getting sweet fuck all done in this spiderman game because the web-swinging (slinging?) is literally mesmerising. very ill-advisedly rigged up my improvised VR headset to this game and having the screen directly in front of my eyeballs makes it feel even more potentially vertigo-inducing but also! fuck! it’s like i’m the guy in skintight spantex tumbling gracefully through the air and then faceplanting into billboards 🥹🥹

my inability to play mobile games nowadays is also a source of suffering as a person who loves rhythm games. i miss her (SIF1).....

#but 1) she is shut down <3 and 2) even if she was still up i probably would barely play because the game was getting.... messy #i loved the old UI but they kept like. adding shit. too many little red exclamation marks #but it was one of the comfiest feeling rhythm game mechanics i ever played #i need to find a rhythm game that really feels good is my problem. high key i actually do not like most of the project diva style gameplay #TOO MANY button inputs that are hard to read im too learning disabled for that #i did love project mirai tho. and i liked project diva X because the progression was less skill focused and more perseverance #i really dont like post ps4 pd i do NOT like those multi button inputs where you have to do like #r1 + square + circle + whatever and it like changes every time. girl i cant READ #i much prefer rhythm games where the inputs are simple and dont require as much thinking or reading #and its more focused on just how good can u hit those simple inputs #i really loved beat saber when i played it at a vr arcade once. but i do not have the space or money for vr rn LOL #i also have really enjoyed taiko. someday i'd like to try a peripheral. one time i played it on the dk bongo gamecube controller #to see what it felt like. it felt bad <3 but it was fun <3 <3 <3 <3 #osu i havent really liked. although i do enjoy elite beat agents and oeundan. i think its the physically small screen of the ds #sometimes its fun to boot up melodys escape or audiosurf too. but id really like to try other games #when i did play mobage i was partial to stuff like sb69's three track system and llsif's 9 spot system #but i didnt like the way deemo felt.... the size of the visual hit boxes were TOO SMALL it always felt weird #flick notes sucked whenever i played a mobage tho. i have SWEATY FINGERS dont to this me #swipe notes are fine its just flick. also i dont like how hard they are to read similar to a lot of console games <3
