People are so weird about service dogs.

I get abled people tell me all the how great it would be for me to get a service dog. And I have to explain that a service dog can do barely a fraction of what I need help with and isn’t suitable for my disability.

But having a human carer isn’t as exciting as having a pet I can take everywhere which is all they think a service dog is rather than a disability aid that is essential for some disabled people and not suitable for others (like any other disability aid)

People who have service dogs have my full respect given the amount of BS they have to deal with.

Also like... how the hell are you going to care for a service dog? Thats one of my main reasons for not utilizing one, it's both medical equipment and also a living being that needs a lot of care and enrichment and the people who say "just" get a service dog either don't know how much work a dog is, or aren't giving it enough care. Any time I've talked to handler teams about it, that's their number one tip is to make sure you can actually care for a dog before you even start the process.

People forget they still need a lot of care, training, and maintenance and that only people in the very narrow range of of "highly skilled trainer" "still seriously disabled" and "physically capapable of caring for a dog" and that's why they're usually for things like minor mobility, psychiatric care, or conditions like seizures, cardiac care, and diabetes rather than like... high level paralysis or dystrophy or motor neuron disease.

If you're going to be a shithead about me I'm going to be really annoying and do a bit about it. Plus the little golden angel pin... ALSO really pulls the whole thing together. "God help you" Right in front of my guardian angel? Really? 😒And how could I not make mention of. The Skull. I love you The Skull. It's a button (not sewn on yet, pinned) that I filled the details in w nail polish. Oh yeah! Besides the bottle cap pins (acrylics sealed with mod podge and a prayer), the biggest addition there is the chain lining the pocket flap! I think it looks SO SLICK

The pansy was gonna go on the queer side, but then I got the boutonniere idea! And I think it looks nice! Kinda adds to the asymmetry of the floral print/plaid blocking. And... of course.... I have... my friends...... 🥺 Biggest additions here are the glow-star pentagram pin, soda tabs and the heart locket!

I don't really have many new additions to the bottom pockets. Not yet! The only thing I did was stitch one side of the handcuff chain, and rearrange the pins holding up the other side. The cuffs/scorpion was just an impulse addition before going to a concert. But I do like it! And it looks even better now! Meanwhile, that other pocket, I actually have no idea what I'll do. Sakura is just there cause she matches really well, esp w the angel pin actually!

My softest muse is definitely Vick. He's a 0 on the toughness scale, he's a big teddy bear and he will choose kindness over anything else at any point.

My toughest muse is probably Barbie. Girl is tough as nails and will not be stopped if she puts her mind to something. She doesn't take pain as a reason to stop and will go harder when it hurts.

2) Which Muse would blow through $1000 quickly?

Valentino, hands down. He spends $1,000 every day easily on things he doesn't even need. He loves to buy expensive things and will do so at all hours. He especially loves spending Vox's money. $1,000 is a drop in the bucket for him and he doesn't even notice spending it.

3) Do any of them have nicknames? Is there a meaning behind them?

Quite a few of them do!

Valentino answers to Bunny from his lovers, it's a subspace trigger word for him. I assigned him Bunny because he's Cute And Horny, aka a rabbit, and a bunny sub is fairly common.

4) Are any of them up-to-speed on the latest trends? Anyone more old school?

Velvette, Vox, and Valentino are obsessed with always being on top of the next new thing.

Alastor hates new things and will fight them as much as he can.

5) Who has the best relationship with their siblings?

Valentino had a fairly good relationship with his siblings when he was alive. He had seven of them, plus three live-in cousins that were like his siblings.

6) Karaoke night! Who is likely to grab the mic first and bust out a tune?

Beelzebub, Ozzie, Valentino, and Ostello! They all love to sing and party, and they're all pretty good at it. Ostello was a pop-jazz singer when he was alive and before he died in Hell, too!

7) Who is least likely to enter a beauty pageant/model?

Gretchen. She doesn't think that she's very pretty, and would just feel embarrassed even going to watch.

Travis. He is constantly told he's very ugly, and he doesn't have a very high opinion of his looks.

8) If your Muses visited a haunted house where actors scare you, who would panic and who would be unfazed? 

Chazz, Gretchen, Charlie, Anya, Magpie, Summer, Travis, and Vick would be the easiest to scare!

Vox prefers to be driven around and doesn't like driving himself.

Valentino only likes to drive occasionally and prefers pretty sports cars when he does.

also the thing about becoming more and less, delicious, I hadn't considered that being part of the appeal, like, desiring that transformation (mostly on the can opener side of things myself, so I tend to think about reversing/undoing)

i think it's just a subset of other uniforms/work clothes being hot. but more than that there are a lot of moving parts and layers, straps, utility items. completely covered and nothing (or close to) visible of the person underneath. mystery and deadly implications 👀🙏

in a way it's what we all do when getting dressed; putting on an appearance of both how you see yourself and how you want others to perceive you, just taken to an extreme and with more purpose

so this post is definitely about me lol & i just wanna say that

me only having mental illness is a really big assumption

the experiences i talked about were my own & some friends i'd had while going to an alternate school, they weren't secondhand or made up

idk what is wrong with this person but they are super fucking ableist, & going through their blog, it's clear they love to accuse everyone of faking being disabled or needing accommodation for some reason & are obsessed with interacting in bad faith.

just gonna assume they're constantly having a really bad day every day but man if you're gonna make multiple blogs dedicated to speaking about disabled issues, maybe don't alienate a majority of the community & accuse them of not being "disabled enough" for you to fucking listen to them
