yuuji's bedtime is 7:30 each night.
there are occasional exceptions like holidays or special events, but as a general rule jin is diligent about making sure his six-year-old is tucked up snug in his little bed by 7:30 sharp so he can get all the sleep he needs to learn and grow and thrive.
sukuna thinks that's all a load of shit.
as such, yuuji's strict bedtime routine is rarely followed when uncle sukuna is tasked with watching him for the night. partially because he thinks it's stupid, and the kid should be allowed to stay up as late as he wants, and partially to spite his older brother for asking him to babysit in the first place.
yuuji hops from one dingy tile to the next on one leg while sukuna surveys the convenience store shelves before his eyes. it's 8:15 now, a full 45 minutes past yuuji's bedtime, and the kid shows no sign of dropping anytime soonâfuther proof, sukuna thinks smugly, that all that stuff his brother's always spouting about "childhood development" and "gentle parenting" is a bunch of garbage. he reaches out and plucks a bag of chips off the shelf in front of him, tossing it into the basket dangling from his hand.
"jichan!" yuuji finally lets both his little light-up sneakers hit the floor, looking up at his uncle with sparkling, expectant eyes. sukuna quirks a brow in his direction, waiting for him to continue. "can i show you my dance when we get home?"
"depends," sukuna says, turning and wandering a little further down the aisle. "'s it any good?"
"fushiguro-kun said it was really, really good when i showed him at school!"
sukuna clicks his tongue. "that so?"
"uh-huh!" yuuji replies cheerfully, watching as his uncle tosses a packet of candy into the shopping basket along with the rest of the junk food they'd set out on their after-hours excursion to procure. sukuna has every intention of letting the kid eat as much of it as he wants when they get back to jin's house, which he's sure would appall his older brother.
"if it sucks i'm gonna tell you," sukuna remarks pointedly, grabbing a second pack of the same gummy candy after deciding one was insufficient.
"it doesn't suck!" yuuji insists, trailing along after his uncle as they continue making their way through the store. the young man waves his hand dismissively as he fights back a smirk at the indignation in the brat's voice.
after grabbing a few more itemsâsome chocolate candies, a pint of ice cream, and pack of cigarettes (which even sukuna isn't enough of a degenerate to share with the kid)âthe two set off on the short walk back to jin's apartment with their spoils. yuuji is hopping on one foot again, trying to avoid the cracks in the pavement as they make their way home.
sukuna wishes the kid didn't have to stick so close, because he could really go for one of those cigarettes right now, but he resists the urge to fish one out from the pack and resolves to sneak out onto the balcony and smoke one when they get home and he can distract yuuji with the TV long enough to sneak away. in the pocket of his jacket, his cell phone vibrates, signifying a new text, and he digs it out to check the notification.
[new message - 8:22PM] how's babysitting duty?
sukuna smirks a little when he sees your name and message on the small screen in his palm. his eyes briefly flicker up to yuuji, who's wandered ahead a little bit, and then back to the device as he types out his reply.
'he's still alive.'
[new message - 8:23PM] a glowing endorsement
"ojiiiiiichan!"
sukuna glances up from the screen of his phone to see yuuji staring at him.
"what?" he asks his nephew flatly.
the noisy tyke cocks his head to the side. "why'd ya stop walking?"
sukuna blinks, he hadn't noticed he'd stopped while he was texting you.
"and why're you smiling like that?" the kid adds after a moment.
sukuna scowls, tightening his grip on the plastic convenience store bag in his hand in a way that makes it rustle. "'m not smiling like anything."
"you were," yuuji insists as the two start walking in the direction of home again, but this time he falls into step with his uncle instead of racing ahead. sukuna feels his curious eyes on his face as they near jin's apartment.
"stop staring at me," he snaps. "it's rude."
"papa says you're the rudest person he knows," yuuji remarks innocently, blissfully unaware of how scathing the comment really is.
"yeah, well your father's a cunâ" he catches himself before he says what he wants to say, quickly (though awkwardly) correcting himself, "âniving guy."
"what's conniving?" yuuji asks.
"it means annoying," sukuna answers with a grunt. it's not true, but that doesn't matter to him.
"jichan, were you talking to a girl on your phone back there?"
sukuna almost stumbles in his surprise, his head whipping to the side to stare at his nephew in shock. "what the hell makes you say that?"
"hell is a bad word!" yuuji points up at his uncle admonishingly.
"i'm a grown up, i'm allowed to say whatever i want," sukuna says with a roll of his eyes. "now back to the question, brat."
"papa says that you're always talking to the girls in your phone when we're eating dinner at the table. it's part of what makes you rude."
sukuna sneers. his brother's always been a narc.
"conniving," sukuna mutters under his breath.
the apartment building is in sight now, and he's grateful because that craving for a cigarette has resurfaced with renewed vigour.
"papa also says that girls don't like ojichan because ojichan makes them cry."
"your papa doesn't know what he's talking about," sukuna grunts, irritated.
"did you make the girl you were talking to back there cry?" yuuji prods again for information.
"no, i didn't," the elder of the duo counters indignantlyâweirdly indignantly, if he's being honest.
"good," yuuji says with a firm nod. he starts hopping on one foot again as the two of them approach the main entrance to the building. the lights on his sneakers dance across the pavement in the dark. "if you made her cry that would make me sad for her."
sukuna thinks about you then. you're probably at home now, waiting for him to reply to that last message he didn't get the chance to respond to. you're probably wearing those slippers you like so much, the ones he teases you about every time he comes over. probably in pyjamas already, since you tend to be early to bed. he wonders if you'll still be awake by the time jin gets home to relieve him from his childminding duties. wonders if you'll answer the phone when he calls. wonders if you'll let him come over if he asks.
"yeah," sukuna says quietly, almost unconsciously, as he pulls open the apartment door and allows his nephew to hop across the threshold ahead of him. "that'd make me sad too."

2025: #13 The Wake-Up Call: stop wasting time and own ur education
â ď¸ : harsh motivation

ăLet me cut the bullshit and get straight to the point: youâre wasting your life. I said it. u sit there, complaining about school, whining about how âhardâ it is, scrolling through your phone like the world owes u something Cuz it doesnât. No one is coming to save your lazy ass.ă
âď¸..Cuz a big number of ppl think education is a joke !? You think skipping class, half-assing assignments, and coasting through life on autopilot is cute? Hell nah pookie. Itâs fucking pathetic. While youâre sitting there making excusesââIâm too tired,â âThis subject is boring,â âI donât see the pointââthereâs someone out there grinding, pushing, sacrificing everything for the life youâre too scared to fight for.Do you know what it feels like to be stuck? To have doors slammed in your face because you didnât put in the work? Thatâs the life youâre signing up for every time u choose to be lazy. Every time you say, âFuck it, Iâll do it tomorrow,â youâre digging your own grave. Youâre giving up on the one shot you have to make something of yourself.
But youâre not completely fucked yet.
Yeah, school sucks sometimes. I get it. Waking up early, dealing with uninspiring teachers, and subjects that feel pointlessâit can feel like a waste. But hereâs the truth: life doesnât care. The world is cutthroat, and if you donât show up, itâll eat you alive. You either hustle, or you get crushed. Thatâs it.
So, what do you do? You fucking start. No more excuses, no more procrastinating. Hereâs how to get your shit together:
1. Set a Fucking Goal
Stop floating around like a goddamn leaf in the wind. What do you want? Whatâs the dream? You canât hit a target you donât aim for. Write it down. Visualize it. Make it so real in your mind that you can taste it. Whether itâs becoming a doctor, starting a business, or simply getting out of your current situationâknow your âwhy.â
2. Get Ruthless About Your Time
Stop wasting hours scrolling through TikTok, bingeing Netflix, or playing dumbass mobile games. Track your time. Every second you waste is a second youâre giving to someone whoâs working harder than you. Use a planner, set alarms, make a scheduleâwhatever it takes to get shit done.
3. Start Small, Stay Consistent
You donât have to study for eight hours on day one. Start with 30 minutes of focused work. Use the Pomodoro method: 25 minutes of pure focus, 5-minute break. Do that four times, and youâve already put in two solid hours. Consistency beats motivation every damn time.
4. Stop Waiting for Motivation
Motivation is bullshit. Itâs flaky, unreliable, and temporary. What you need is discipline. Discipline is doing what needs to be done, even when you donât feel like it. Hate studying? Too bad. Set a timer and do it anyway. No one said this would be fun .l talked abt this click here !
5. Surround Yourself with Hungry People
If your friends are lazy, youâll be lazy too. Cut out anyone whoâs dragging you down. Find people who are grinding, who push you to be better, who make you uncomfortable in your mediocrity. If you canât find those people, be that person. Lead the fucking way.
6. Own Your Failures
Stop blaming teachers, parents, or the system. If you failed, itâs on you. Take responsibility and learn from it. Failure isnât the endâitâs feedback. Itâs the world telling you where you need to improve. Use it.
7. Reward Yourself, But Only After You Earn It
Studied for two hours? Cool. Take a 15-minute break. Finished your assignment? Great. Watch an episode of your favorite show. But donât let rewards come before the work. Earn your dopamine hitsâtheyâll feel a hell of a lot better.
8. Stop Romanticizing âEasyâ
Nothing worth having comes easy. Youâre not entitled to success; you have to fight for it. The grind is what separates the winners from the losers. Fall in love with the process, even when it sucks. Because thatâs where growth happens.
9. Remember Who the Fuck You Are
Youâre not some weak, helpless victim. You have the power to change ur life, but only if you stop feeling sorry for yourself. The world doesnât owe you shit. You owe it to yourself to rise up, to push harder, to become the person you know you can be.
10. Think Long-Term
When youâre tempted to slack off, think about your future self. Five years from now, do you want to look back and say, âI gave it my all,â or do you want to drown in regret, wishing you could go back and do things differently? The choice is yoursâevery single day.
Stop Fucking Around
Youâre not a kid anymore. This is your life. Every decision you make is shaping your future, whether you like it or not. You have one shot at this. Stop wasting it. Get off your ass, open your books, and start fighting for the life you want.
the pain of hard work is temporary, but the pain of regret lasts forever. So choose wisely. Do the work. Stay hungry. And when youâve finally made itâwhen youâre living the life you once dreamed ofâyouâll look back and thank yourself for not giving up.

Authorâs note: reposting my old work on this side blog! Let me know if youâd like to read a specific one. Thank you for reading!
Warning: pregnancy and childbirth

Saturday 10pm
Justin had been asleep for almost two hours as you folded laundry and put it away in the nursery. Your induction was scheduled for Monday morning promptly at 8am and everyone within the Chargers organization knew that this was happening because your husband absolutely hated taking the day off. But this was understandably a special exception to the rule. Youâd spent the last 9 months mentally and physically preparing yourself for this moment but the idea of having a human being relying on you for everything was still such a daunting task that you almost wished the day wouldnât come. Not until you felt completely prepared at least.
And then the ache in your back and hips reminded you that your baby girl was quickly running out of room and would be making her entrance soon, whether you and your husband were ready or not. On the bright side, your stomach had dropped significantly in the last few days, allowing you to breathe easier and for Justin to poke fun at your pronounced waddle. He affectionately started calling you Mumble last week, from Happy Feet. The dad jokes were coming in strong.
You heaved yourself out of the chair you were parked in and were headed off to bed before a slight pain wrapped itself around the base of your stomach. The pressure moved from the back to the front, settling on a spot underneath your belly button. You stopped walking and used the wall to support yourself, rubbing small circles around the area until it passed. As a Braxton-Hicks veteran, you continued your trek to the bedroom, completed your nighttime routine and headed off to bed.
Sunday 2am
It happened again. The slight twinge of discomfort had you holding your breath for about 15 seconds before letting go and you had to take several deep breaths to recover. After a few minutes everything was normal again and you had to turn around to make sure that Justin was still asleep next to you. Throughout your pregnancy heâd become a much lighter sleeper, often waking up at ungodly hours to get you snacks or a few nights when you caught him talking to your belly, whether it was talking about the playbook or just telling her he couldnât wait to meet her, it warmed your heart just the same. But you were thankful for now that he just missed that entire exchange because you were definitely not in laborâŚright?
Sunday 7am
You were definitely in labor. On a Sunday, when the Chargers were playing the Broncos at home. Of course. Youâd experienced three contractions so far, just about four hours apart so you had plenty of time. There was no way in hell you were telling Justin. As soon as it was appropriate, you scooted yourself out of bed and went down to the home gym for some prenatal yoga and a good stretch, hoping it would provide a boost of positive energy. Then you hopped in the shower, allowing the warm water would relax your tense muscles and maybe help you delay the inevitable.
By 8:30 Justin was awake and making breakfast for the two of you while you sat on the couch watching New Girl. He brought your plate and a cup of orange juice to you which you were grateful for, but the thought of putting anything but the juice in your body made your stomach turn.
âAre you alright? Youâve barely touched your avocado toast and youâve been devouring it the last few days.â He ran a gentle hand on your forehead like he was checking your temperature and caressed your cheek when he realized you werenât abnormally warm. âI can make you something else before I leave if you want?â
âNo, Iâm fine! Just not hungry yet, Iâll probably eat later.â You lied through your teeth, desperately hoping that he would let it go. The excuse seemed to satisfy him enough for him to head back upstairs to watch some film and get ready. An hour and a half later, he headed downstairs just in time to find you stretching out your back, the cramp beginning to wash over you.
He replaced your hands with his own, slightly lifting your stomach to take the weight off for a bit. âYour stomach is hard as a rock,â he observed furrowing his brows and starting to piece things together. âAre you sure everything is ok?â His soft voice attempted to mask his worry filled words.
âYeah Iâm having a fake contraction, you know theyâre so common these days.â You rushed out, attempting to use his extensive research against him. He could probably write his own version of âWhat to Expect When Youâre Expectingâ with his newfound pregnancy knowledge. It was both impressive and scary how much he had grown to know whatâs going on in your body before you did.
Although he nods his head in understanding, his face is still full of distress. And you could tell he was analyzing your words and tone of voice for any sign that you were lying, leaving you to mentally curse at the fact that he knew you so well and youâd need to work extra hard to convince him to go on like this was a normal day.
Although he let out a deep sigh, he didnât ask any further questions. âI know, I just hate the thought of you being in pain and thereâs nothing I can do about it.â
You tap his wrist so he can slowly drop your belly and you turn around in his arms. âYouâre so cute, but it really isnât that bad. A lot less painful than playing with ankle thatâs hanging on by a shoestring I can tell you that.â You chuckle, his hands rubbing soothing circles on your back and you felt compelled to return the favor, sensing he too needed some comfort. âHereâs whatâs gonna happen today though. You are going to go and kick Denverâs ass then youâre going to come home, weâll celebrate and then tomorrow youâll be on your way to being the greatest dad to ever live. How does that sound?â
Justin chuckles, giving you a peck on the lips, nose and forehead. âIf Iâm half as good a parent as I know you will be, then I know Iâll be golden.â
âStop it before I start crying, you know Iâm super hormonal right now this isnât fair.â You mumble, tears brimming your eyes. He gives you one last kiss before reminding you to call your friend Dani to stay with you, even though your moms were on their way to your home.
Once he pulled out of the driveway you could relax, letting out a deep sigh and patting your swollen middle. Crisis averted.
For now.
Sunday 12pm
Contractions were officially every hour and Dani was trying her best not to freak out in order not to freak you out. But she was definitely freaking out. What started out as more intense period cramps were becoming a lot sharper, so much so that you couldnât even focus on Encanto, which was the last sign you needed to know that this was the real thing. You did manage to eat a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and take a nap while she was with you, fluffing your pillows and telling you that you were doing amazing. Three hours later, there was a knock at the door and Dani went to open it for Holly and your mom. The two becoming best friends was probably the cutest thing in the world and your mom had even flown to Oregon three days before just to spend time with Holly and drive to California with her. They were the sweetest. And of course they brought snacks. There were lactation cookies for you in the freezer already but they brought more and they brought an abundance of food to eat during the game, which usually would have made your day, but today all it did was make you want to stick your face in the toilet.
You greeted the two women with hugs as Dani helped set up their spread and they immediately asked how you were feeling.
âI just woke up not too long ago so Iâm feeling great now. Very ready to not be pregnant anymore so I can see my fâohhh wow. Ow.â You groaned, one hand on your contracting belly and the other gripping the counter for dear life.
Daniâs eyes bug out of her head as she moves to rub your back. âThat was the roughest one yet.â She was right, this one left your whole body sore, a loud reminder that things were definitely moving along.
âThis one?â Your mom questions, looking between you and Dani. Then, she and Holly exchange a look.
âOh my gosh sweetie, youâre in labor!â Holly exclaims, âwe need to get a hold of Justin immediately. Iâll call Mark, Iâm sure heâs already at the stadium.â
You cannot shake your head fast enough, âthereâs no need to call him yet, that was the first bad one. And this game is important.â
âItâs Justin hun, every game is important,â Holly laughs, giving you a loving squeeze.
âBut you know whatâs even more important to him? You and that baby girl thatâs getting ready to meet us soon. Are you sure you donât want to tell him now?â
âIâm sure,â you sigh, allowing your mom to guide you back to the couch, sinking down into it with a groan. âOnce the game is over heâll be here and weâll go have a baby. But not a moment before.â
Admittedly, it was getting harder to focus. Justin was playing great, but of course so was Bo Nix. The Chargers would score and the Broncos would answer. The Broncos would get a stop and the Chargers would force a punt. You were entertained but the battle happening within you was the most interesting one to the people in your house.
Your mom had gone down to find your birthing ball, which helped for about half a quarter, just in time for a Ladd McConkey touchdown to put the Chargers up by 10. By the end of the third you were forced into a squat behind one of the couches, spreading your legs to hopefully ease the increasing pressure on your hips. You breathed through the contraction, the sensation sending a pins and needles feeling near your tailbone. Holly made sure you stayed hydrated, having secretly texted her husband halfway through the fourth quarter when the game was firmly in hand to have their son home as soon as humanly possible. Contractions creeped on 30 minutes apart, leaving you panting and groaning in discomfort until your muscles relaxed.
Fifteen minutes later, you were pacing around the living room and you had to stop to hold onto the couch again, your mom helping you roll your hips as you felt thin beads of sweat building around your hairline. Things were getting real and scary and you needed Justin.
âWhat time is it?â You murmured, cupping your stomach with a hiss as the baby moved.
âItâs 7:15 and heâs on his way home, baby.â Your mom whispers, sensing your increasing distress, âheâll be here soon.â
âMy back hurts,â you state suddenly, a slight tremble in your voice. âEverything really hurts.â
Your mom grabs at your hips, squeezing them together to apply counter pressure, giving you momentary relief.
Dani was in charge of timing contractions and all you knew was the moment in between them where you could actually form a coherent thought. Time was no longer real. You headed upstairs for some time to yourself and a wave of nausea hit you and you emptied probably everything youâd eaten the entire day, which in hindsight probably wasnât much. But you werenât in the headspace to think clearly right now. You walked back towards to the bedroom and clutched the doorway, visibly feeling the heaviness of the baby moving down, almost sending you to your knees if it werenât for the solid, calming presence that was suddenly in front of you.
âHey babe.â You breathe out, feeling a little unsure that your legs were capable of holding you up until you could sit on the bed.
He pulled you into his arms as close as your belly would allow and pressed his lips your forehead. âHi. Glad I could make it back in time. I knew something was off with you this morning,â he narrowed his eyebrows at you when he pulled away, walking you slowly back into the room placing a firm hand on the small of your back, making circles with it while holding your hand with the other. âAlright babyâŚhow long have you been in labor?â
You let out a dry laugh at his disappointed dad look. âSince 10 last night I think? But letâs focus on the important things, you played great and you won but man you guys really took a minute to shut the door on âem.â
âRight, the important things.â He says with a knowing smile. âI know you love football as much as I do now, but if you told me earlier I wouldâve been at your side in a heartbeat. You know that, right?â
God, you hoped your baby had his caring heart. âI do know that, I really do. But I also knew that youâd be able to do both. The Chargers are your family too andââ
A contraction creeped up on you, leaving you to hold onto your husbandâs forearms with a sharp sound of pain, the pressure reaching an overwhelming peak that you hadnât experienced before.
âSqueeze as much as you want, itâs okay.â His voice attempts to soothe you but you couldnât hear him over the animalistic grunt that escaped you. Your body tensed involuntarily and he could see your stomach hardening as the tension continued to build. There was nothing more he could do than hold you through it, until something gave way and the floodgates openedâŚliterally.
Even he sounded breathless by the end of it. âYour water just broke.â
Sunday 10pm
Contractions in the house were terrible. But contractions in the car, with no cushion from the water bag made it feel like she was right between your legs.
âJustin, you have to go faster. Please.â You panted out, desperately clutching the grab handle and leaning your head back with a loud moan. âCan you turn on the air, Iâm dying in here. And I need to put the seat back, my back is killing me, Iâm sorry.â You felt like a turtle stuck on its back, waiting for someone to turn it over and set it free.
âYeah, yeah do whatever you need. And you donât need to apologize,â he pats you on the leg, âdo whatever makes you comfortable, weâll be there soon.â He kept looking between you and the road, slightly worried that heâd have to deliver the baby in the car. The only thing that slightly reassured him the whole drive was your sigh of relief when the fan came on. First babies were supposed to take a while but heâd missed the entirety early labor, so from the sounds that he was hearing he figured you were in or at the very least extremely close to the transition stage. His grip on the steering wheel tightened and remained that way until the birthing center came into view. Your parents had called ahead and would meet you there when given the word, so all you had to do was check in and you were brought to your private suite.
Seven centimeters dilated and without painkillers made your husband question any football toughness he thought he had. You were so close to meeting your baby and he was a mix of anxiousness, nerves and excitement. Most of all he felt so much love and admiration for your determination and strength. Holding off on telling him you were in labor so he could be there to get the job done with his teammates was one thing and it was a complete whirlwind to be there with you while you worked to bring your baby into the world.
Once he was finally able to tear his eyes off the babyâs heart monitor, all of his focus was back on you. He wasnât going to say anything but the agony in your voice was really starting to take a toll on him. Months of mental preparation for this moment was nothing like the real thing and he felt utterly helpless, desperately trying to maintain some sort of control and be helpful in any way.
âHoney youâre shaking, are you cold?â Without even giving you time to answer he was up on his feet, reaching for his bag to grab the blanket heâd seen you drape over yourself on several movie night occasions.
You shake your head while your teeth continue to chatter, reaching for his left hand, âI think itâs the adrenaline. Iâm okay I promise,â you shift uncomfortably in bed, trying to just go along with how your body is feeling and reacting. Your belly tightens, a white hot pain generating an unexpected moan as you palmed your stomach. Justin places his hand on top of yours, whispering to you that the contraction is almost over and constantly reminding you that youâre doing great.
The two of you decided to use gravity to your advantage and walk around the building since the entire floor was closed off at your husbandâs request. He couldnât risk anyone leaking the most private and cherished moment in his life.
âI canât believe this is our last night as a duo.â Justin whispers, walking at a snailâs pace while you waddled alongside him. âItâs been a great ride, pal.â
âWouldnât want to do it with anyone else. And I have a feeling this ride is going to get a lot more interesting from here on out.â You gave your belly a soothing pat.
He strokes your back as you sway your hips again, âthank you for choosing me to be the one that gets to do this with you. I love you so much.â
âI love you too, more than anything in the world.â You grin, pulling him in for a soft kiss. His hand cups your face as he pulls you in even closer. The kiss oozed joy and gratitude. Your husband wasnât a man of many words, but his actions spoke volumes.
You squeeze his arm again suddenly as pain bubbles deep in your core and you rip yourself away from him to press your lips together to stifle a yell. âWe need to get back to the room. Now.â
The noises leaving your body would have horrified you if you werenât already sitting backwards on the toilet wearing only an oversized t-shirt, with your legs spread and the man of your dreams digging his thumbs into your back. âHarder please,â you groan, feeling like your tailbone is seconds away from shattering.
âIâm not getting a break,â you cry, clenching your jaw, leaning back and asking him to help you up. He hooks his hands under your arms and basically lifts you to your feet. âItâs not stopping, I canâtâoh fuck.â It felt like you were going to throw up, but out of the other end, which could only mean one thing. âSheâsâJustin sheâs coming right now. I have to push.â You took a breath and focused completely inward, your entire body going rigid, shaky straining sounds of effort pouring out of you.
The quarterback immediately sprang into action,âeasy babe, breathe. Iâve got you.â
You held onto one of his hands and moved into a squat on your shaky legs as he pressed the red button on the side of the bathroom door, allowing your midwife to come in.
The baby felt like it was seconds away from falling out, everything suddenly feeling like it was moving a mile a minute. The midwife was saying something but the ringing in your ears was so loud you couldnât focus on anything but getting your baby delivered.
After another throaty shove, you came back to yourself a little, feeling a gentle hand rubbing your shoulder. âBabe? You gotta slow down. Take a second, I can already see her a little bit you can give yourself some time.â
âI canât, the pressure is too much!â Tucking your chin to your chest, you let out a yelp as you push again, using him as a solid wall to rest against as you spread your legs to give your baby more room. âHoly fuck your baby is huge,â your husband and the midwife both laugh, âIâm sorry itâs justâthis is really hard.â
Pushing felt good, even though it left you shaking like a leaf in a cold and sweaty frenzy. At some point during the delivery heâd pushed your hair back with his lucky headband that was always around his wrist if it wasnât on his head. It was the most intense experience of your life but you took one look at those bright green eyes and he reminded you that he was with you the entire time and you knew you could do anything with him by your side.
Remington Grace Herbert was born Monday morning at 1:42am with those exact same eyes that you fell in love with.
âHi Remi,â Justin sobs, kissing her cheek. âWeâve been waiting for you, baby girl.â
âShe sure knows how to make an entrance.â
You hand her off to her dad after scooting over to give him more room on the bed. He wraps a free arm around you, securely holding her in his other one, totally in awe. âSheâs so perfect. Youâre perfect. You did so amazing, Iâm so freaking proud of you.â He kisses the side of your head.
You cuddle into him with a content sigh, âOur perfect little duckling is finally here.â

afterglow | joel miller [5k]
âwhat am i then?â âyouâre the only thing worth living for.â or joel is an asshole until he isn't.
c: smut mdni, 18+. angst. abandonment. miscommunication.
a/n: i figured i would put this out here again. please let me know what you loved and what you didn't! enjoy:)
the thing is, you really shouldnât be surprised.
he is not yours; has never been, will never be. he is completely his own man, and he has never lied to you about that.
but sometimes, when his body curls into yours late at night, and you can feel his breath ghost over your neckâ when he tucks his worn boots next to yours under the bed and smiles sheepishly when you point it outâ when a woman glares at you and he pulls you closerâ sometimes you pretend heâs yours.
of course, all these lovely moments are tempered by his perpetual frown. he always seems to troubled in spirit about something.Â
today it was some FEDRA agent overstepping the law and facing no repercussions. yesterday it was tess being cagey about the dropoff for the smuggled contraband.Â
joel miller is a bitter man. but sometimes he lets himself soften, and you cling to those moments like a raft in a torrential flood.
you hum as you cook dinnerâ it makes you feel a little better about life. these days itâs been a struggle to look forward to the next day, the next meal, the next shift. when everything in life just seems to propel your demise, nothing seems worth it.
hence the humming.Â
joel isnât home yetâ probably wonât be for a while. he takes extra shifts whenever he can. youâve learned by now to not expect him home by 5.
you havenât lived together for very long. when tess started taking on bigger jobs, she insisted she needed a separate space. she got her own apartment, and you took the one she shared with joel. at first, he insisted on taking the couch and letting you have the bedroom, but then it became an issue of too little space. with joel sleeping in your only shared room, neither of you felt comfortable with the other. you fought about it.
after that you took the left side of the bed.Â
itâs hard to believe you havenât known him for that long. youâre a new addition to their teamâ itâs not longer just him and tess. you donât join them on smuggling trips, but you like to think you make their lives easier with the soft things you provide for them. like your garden. or dinner.
the timer you set for the chicken dings, and you jump to pull it out of the oven. itâs beautifully cooked; the bread crumbs youâd spread on top had browned just how you wanted. you love thisâ the playing house. it allows you to feel like all those expensive cooking classes your parents paid for before the outbreak are finally worth something.
the meal is all prepared and set out. now itâs just the wait for joel. heâs usually home by 6:30, so you tell yourself youâll wait until 6:45 to start eating. heâs told you time and time again not to wait for him.
you glance at the clock. 6:24. itâs not really time for him to be home yet, but itâs getting there. you eye the bottle of red that tess returned from the last trip to bill and frankâs with. you had wanted to share it with joel, but itâs getting late. surely one glass wonât hurt.
youâre tipsy, and the chicken is cold on the counter when you check the time again. 6:48. still not technically unusual. you finish your plate.Â
the bottle is half-gone when you finally stumble into bed. your eyes catch the clock again. 8:35. you donât even register it.
you wake to darkness.
for a moment you lie there, trying to remember why your head hurts so bad. then you rememberâ the chicken, the wine, joel.
you feel around next to you for his comforting warmth, but thereâs nothing there. you sit up. heâs not there. youâre alone.
âjoel?â you whisper into the empty apartment.
nothing.
you swing your legs out of bed and stand on unsteady legs. your head still hurts a little, but you werenât blackout drunk. you can expect a mild hangover, and thatâs exactly whatâs happening right now.Â
the clock reads 3:42. even if joel took the late shift, he would be home by now. even he is not so foolish as to think he can risk missing curfew by this much. something must have happened to him.Â
it doesnât even occur to you to wait for him. youâre just grabbing your handgun and stuffing it into the waistband of your pants. the metal is cold against your skin, but youâre so buzzed with adrenaline and worry you barely feel it. you pull on a light sweater and open the door.
heâs not in the hall. heâs not in the stairway.
in fact, you walk the full length of your street before youâre certain heâs not there. you stand alone on the end of the street and sigh, planting your hands on your hips.
at the end of the day, what do you know about joel miller? where would he go in case of an emergency?Â
tess, you finally decide. he would go see tess. so off you go, across the QZ, to tessâs apartment. itâs a long walk, but you know the patterns FEDRA follows, and you know where to hide. along the way, you see no one, but you hear lots.
moans, mostly. some singing. crying. the sounds of a broken city.Â
tessâs apartment looms before you, and youâre suddenly struck with uncertainty. what if heâs not here? before you can stop yourself, you raise a fist and knock softly.Â
tess opens almost instantly, not even looking tired. her blonde hair is pulled sharply away from her forehead, into a bun at the nape of her neck. her brow furrows. âwhat are you doing here?â
âjoel,â you whisper. âis he here?â
she steps out of her apartment and looks left and right. then back at you. she hesitates. âwhy donât you come inside?â
âwhat happened? is he in here?â you ask as you cross her threshold. she closes the door behind you. âtess. where is he?â
she seems almost distracted as she closes all the curtains. âjoel. he didnât come home last night?â
âuh, no. look, should i be worried? i mean, i am worried! where is he?â
tess looks straight at you. âi donât know. we did a job yesterday. nothing bigâ just a few pills. he kept talking about you⌠he was all smiley.â she frowns in thought. âthere was one weird thing.â
âyes? what was it?â
âwhen he dropped off the pills, the FEDRA bastard asked about you.â
youâre taken aback. you donât interact with any FEDRA officers. âi donât even know any of them!â you protest, as though sheâs accusing you of something.Â
âno, i know,â sheâs quick to assure you. âit threw us off, too. joel kind of⌠lost it. iâve never seen him like that before, and i hope i never do again.â
you hesitate before asking, âwhat did he do?â
tess grimaces. âletâs just say FEDRAâs down one agent.â
âoh.â youâre breathless for a moment, which confuses you, but you shove it aside. for now, you have to focus on your missing roommate-slash-partner-slash-whatever-you-are. âso where is he?â
âafter that, he just ran. i thought he went home. i guess not.â
the worry that sprouted earlier is now blooming fully in your chest. it bursts out of your mouth with every breath, every word. youâre choking on it.Â
âwhereâ where might he have gone?â
tess thinks for a moment. âthereâs a speakeasy he talks about sometimes. itâs down by the old port. do you know where that is?â you nod. âdo you have a gun?â you nod again. âdo you want me to go with you?â
âno, no, itâs fine. iâm good at staying out of trouble.â you force a brief smile and start walking towards the door. she follows you out.Â
âwill i see you tomorrow?â she asks.Â
itâs a double-edged question. sheâs asking not only about your safety, but also about your allegiance to her and her organization. âyes,â you finally answer. âyes, you will. with joel.â
you share a smile, and then the door is shut and youâre gone. you know exactly which speakeasy tess is talking about. joel has taken you there a few times. youâve enjoyed it every time, but he likes it more than you. youâre clinging to the hope that heâs there through the short walk, all the way up to when you rap out the code on the door.
you hear a lock unclick. faint music seeps out from under the door. FEDRA must pretend this place doesnât exist. sometimes they turn a blind eye to something good.
your theory is proven right when you spot several FEDRA agents lounging at the bar. the dim lights help hide the block letters on their uniforms, but it seems youâre looking for trouble tonight.Â
your gaze immediately lands on him, and your lungs empty in one relieved gasp.
joel is in a corner, surrounded by his coworkers. heâs smiling. heâs⌠laughing. his hand grips a beer bottle by the neck, and you shift your weight, flustered against your will by the sight. he doesnât see you, but in your happiness you donât register this.
youâre at his table in mere seconds, smiling broadly despite your exhaustion. itâs 4 in the morning, but you couldnât be happier.Â
then his eyes meet yours, and your stomach drops.
âwhat are you doing here?âÂ
itâs joel, yes, but somethingâs different. heâs drunk. thatâs the biggest thing. but also, he seems angry. your smile from before is gone, replaced by an angry scowl. one that has never been directed at you before.
you take a step back before you realize what youâre doing. âi⌠i was worried about you.â your voice sounds so small.
the men sitting around joel laugh. he doesnât stop them, and your heart twinges in your chest. suddenly the worry from earlier is gone, replaced by a burning anger. it flushes your cheeks, it stains the breaths that spill from your open mouth. youâre blinded by it.
youâre frozen there until he speaks. he holds all the power.Â
finally, he looks at you. itâs almost like heâs condescending to you. âget out, little girl,â he says. itâs nothing, itâs not even a real acknowledgement of you. but his voice isnât slurred, which tells you he hasnât had as much alcohol as you originally thought.
âwhat?â
he rolls his eyes. âi saidââ
âi know what you said.â you can hardly believe yourself. you can hardly believe joel. heâs never done this kind of thing before. âi waited for you. why didnât you come home?â
joel shoots you a withering glare. âweâre not family, you know,â he finally says. âyouâre a burden. you are a responsibility. i owe you nothing.â he doesnât spare you a second glance, just turns back to the others at the table and reaches for another bottle.
you stand there for a moment, frozen, but when it becomes clear heâs done with you, you leave. the walk back to your shared apartment feels longer than usual. youâre in your head, trying to figure out a plan. what could you possibly do when joel always has the upper hand?
then it hits you. if joel wants you gone so bad, if he really wants you out, youâll give it to him. youâll give it to him until he chokes on it.
that night, you take all of your stuff and bolt.
youâre aware of the time constraints youâre under. joel might be drinking, but heâll still want to be home for a shower before he goes off to work. itâs a little before 6:00 when youâre finally done. all of your things are stowed in tessâs apartment for now, until you can find your own place.Â
you stand there, surveying your new home. itâs bigger than the one you and joel shared, but itâs also not as comforting. you scan the kitchen and living area multiple times before you realize that it feels different because joelâs record player isnât there. in the place where you had stored his records, tess has a cabinet of clothing.Â
you heave a sigh. itâs not perfect, but then again itâs not forever. just until you find an apartment. and a job. preferably one that doesnât involve seeing joel fucking miller every single fucking day. you wonder if you can include that on the application.
tess is off doing⌠whatever it is she does during the day. sheâs left you with a spare key and instructions to not let anyone in. the day is yours. you spend it sleeping.Â
you unpack when you can. it takes a few days to get fully accustomed to the new living space, but thatâs normal. youâre in an entirely new home.Â
speaking of which⌠youâre not entirely sure how to thank tess. a card doesnât seem like enough, but a cake is too much. sheâs assured you multiple times that no thanks are necessary, sheâs just doing what anyone would do. but you both know sheâs not. the boston QZ inhabitants are not known for their generosity or charity. quite the opposite, in fact. before you fell in with tess and joel, you got your ass handed to you pretty regularly.
thereâs so much you have to thank her for. you donât even know where to start.
on your fourth day there, tess doesnât have any plans. normally she âworksâ-- whatever that meansâ but today apparently sheâs off. she comes out of her room looking fresh, clean. you begin to suspect she only showers when she has time.Â
but now her hair is pulled back into a bun, and her sharp face is softened with some light makeup. âhey,â she greets you with a nod.
âdonât you look nice. whereâs the party?â
she laughs good-naturedly. âall dressed up with nowhere to go, i guess.â tess has a glint in her eye. youâre a little suspicious.
âwhat are you looking at me like that for?â
âno reason.â but she doesnât stop.
âno seriously, come on.â you rise from the couch, setting aside your knitting. âwhat are you thinking?â
âiâm thinking you should go out tonight.â
â...oh.â
âwith me! weâll go to some speakeasy and drink cheap liquor that men buy for us. itâll be fun! plus,â she adds, smiling widely, âyou need a rebound.â
you groan and throw your head back. âoh, come on, what does that even mean?â
âit means youâve been sitting on this couch for way too long. so he broke your heart.â
âit was way more than that.â
âokay, so he crushed your chance at ever finding happiness.â
âgetting closer.â
âbut you canât let that define you!â she plants her hands on her hips. âwhat better way to show joel he was wrong than to hook up with someone else?â
âiâm going to pretend you didnât say that.â
âwhat better way?â she asks again.
âitâs way more complicated than that and you know it!â you stop to collect your thoughts and find yourself thinking of joel and his smile. âdiseases.â
âwhat?â
âdiseases! stds! i donât know!â youâre gesturing wildly with your hands now, and tess is bent at the waist from laughing so hard. âitâs a real possibility!â
âthat was true with joel, too!â she points out.Â
youâre silent for a moment. itâs only been four daysâ not nearly long enough for you to âget overâ him. âi miss him.â
tess stares at you with wide eyes. âwhat?â
âi miss him.â
she sputters, âi thought you hated him!â
âi donât hate him! he justâŚâ
âhe broke your heart! stomped on it! in public!â
âyes, i know. i was there. but, i just⌠i just miss him. i canât shake the feeling that he didnât mean it, that he wasnât in the right state of mind.â you shrug. âmaybe iâll never know. but i just donât feel right hooking up with someone else when iâm still inââÂ
you barely stop yourself in time. tess catches you anyway.Â
âyouâre in love with him? no way.â sheâs shaking her head aggressively, emphatically. âno dick is that good. no dick is worth that.â
âitâs not about his dick!â you sink back onto the couch and bury your face in your hands. you feel hopeless all of a sudden. âwhat if he was the one and i fucked it up?â
âyou canât fuck up the one.â she kneels in front of you and takes your hands in hers. âlisten to me. if you want to go back to him, iâm not going to stop you. but he doesnât deserve you. and if he keeps acting this way, he never will.â
you suppress a groan. itâs all so complicated, and it makes your heart ache. why isnât love ever simple? in a world colonized by evil, why does even this have to be tainted? âiâm not going back to him,â you swear. âi just⌠i just miss him. i donât know.â
âwe donât have to go out if you donât want to.â tess shrugs sadly. âi get it if youâre like, i never want to go out again.â
âno, no, thatâs not it. i just⌠iâm just tired.â
she gives you a knowing look. âright. well, iâm going to at least get a drink. iâll be back later.â then she laughs. âi really will, iâm not going to curse you out in public. sorry sorry sorry so sorry i just couldnâtââ
youâre both laughing as you jump up to shove her out the front door. she shouts apologies through frantic giggling even when the door is closed behind her.Â
meanwhile, joel is getting his ass handed to him.
âyouâre a fucking idiot,â tess scoffs. âyou know sheâs the best thing that ever happened to you, right?â
he frowns. âshe didnât happen to me. she was just someone else i had to take care of.â
tess stops in her tracks, forcing him to slow down. âwhat the fuck even is that, joel? did you even go home that night?â
he shoots her a desperate look. there are dark circles under his eyes from a lack of sleep. he never could sleep as well without her. âyes, okay, i did! i did go home! i meant to go apologize, but she wasnât there. so i went to wait for her at one of the markets she mentioned. she loves cooking, so i figuredâ look, it doesnât even matter. she doesnât want to see me.â he runs a hand through his already-messy hair. âi donât know what to do.â
âapologize, dickhead!â
âhow can i apologize when she wonât even see me?â joel is getting more and more distressed as he talks about it. it suddenly hits him that if you refuse to see him, he wonât have anyone.
sure, thereâs tess, but he would never tell tess about his day. he could never tell tess what he wants for dinner.Â
if thereâs no you, who is he supposed to talk to?
tess is gesturing wildly with her hands. she does that when she gets excited or nervous. âyou love her, donât you?â
âhow can i say i love her? i obviously donât.â
âokay but you did, right?â
he hesitates. it feels wrong to say this about you when youâre not even there. âi loved her as much as you can love someone youâve only known for a few months.â
she doesnât waste even a second. âso then whyâd you do it?â
it spills out like a broken bottle of whiskey. âshe got close, tess! i was putting my boots under her bed! she gave me a massage. she told me she likes hearing about my day.â saying it out loud, joelâs beginning to realize how big a mistake heâs made. âi loved her. i love her, i just donât know how to fix it. iâll end up hurting her no matter what i do.â
tess stares at him. for a long moment, neither of them say anything. then he keeps going. âthe last thing i want is for her to think i hate her. i donât. i just⌠i miss her, and i donât know how to fix it⌠i canât fix it on my own.
âi want us to be happy,â he concludes.
well, mostly he wants you to be happy.Â
your happiness just happens to correlate with his.
it doesnât often rain in boston, but when it does, it pours.Â
on this particular evening, youâre alone, tess having left hours earlier for something work-related. youâre still not entirely sure what she does on these work-related outings.Â
youâre just about to curl up on the couch with a cup of weak tea and your battered copy of pride and prejudice when thereâs a brisk knock on the door. you freeze. tess has always told you never to open the door for anyone. in fact, that was the first rule she established when you moved in with her. apparently tess is something of a target, and so now you are too.Â
but this knock sounds familiar, and when you look through the peephole, you know why. you yank the door open.Â
âare you insane?âÂ
joel just stands there, shivering. heâs soaked to the bone. âiâm so sorry,â he says. âi donât want to waste your time. iâm so sorry.â
âwhat?â
âi shouldâve come home, and iâm sorry that i didnât.â his teeth are chattering from how cold it is, and part of you wants to let him inside. but the other part clings to your pride. âiâm sorry that i let them laugh at you, and iâm sorry that i said you were a burden. you are⌠anything but.â
you donât say anything for a long moment. âwhat am i then?â
joel doesnât hesitate. âyou are the only thing worth living for.â
âwhat does that mean?â
âi love you,â he blurts. your eyes go wide. âi love you desperately. i love you hopelessly. i loved you as you left me, and i loved you even though i knew you would never come back to me. i loved you then as i love you now, and i understand if you want nothing to do with me. you donât need to accept this, or even tolerate this, but i need you to know. you must know. iââ
âstop, stop.â he does. âwhat are you doing?â
his brow furrows. âiâm apologizing to you.â
âyes, but why?â
âwhat do you mean?â
âwhat are you trying to get out of it?â you refuse to let him back in again if itâs just to break your heart. you need to hear him say itâ say anything, really, that would give you an excuse to close the door.
âi want you to be happy,â he says. like itâs as simple as that. like he really does just want you to be happy.
âi am happy,â you blurt out.Â
he nods. nods again. âiâm so sorry,â he says, and then he turns away.
before you know what youâre doing, you shout, âwait, no! joel!â you let go of the doorframe and reach out for his shoulder. âjoel, iâm not happy. i miss you. i love you.â
you manage to pull him back towards you, and then his arms are wrapped around you and youâre burying your face in his neck. âiâm so sorry,â he whispers into your hair. âiâm so sorry.â
âi forgive you,â you breathe.Â
joel pulls back just slightly, still keeping his arms around you. âcome home,â he murmurs.Â
you nod immediately, and then shake your head. âi have to leave a note for tess, sheâll be so mad if i just leave.â you drag him into her apartment with you. he follows dutifully as you search the kitchen for a sticky note, and waits while you scribble out a quick explanation.
joel came by. went home with him. thank you!!
âdo you think thatâll be enough?â you ask, holding it up for him to see.
he squints at it. âi donât know, baby. maybe just a little more.â
you flush at the petname, but if he notices, he doesnât show it. heâs moved to your hand, clinging tightly to it as you lengthen the note. (he apologized). âis that good?â
joel hums his approval. âgood job, baby.â you shift your weight, and this time you know he notices, because a smirk dances on his lips. he doesnât comment on it.Â
itâs still raining by the time you leave tessâs apartment, though not as hard, and because itâs still before curfew, itâs safe for the two of you to walk home.
home. for so long joelâs apartment felt like an in-between space. a place to go to at night. it took so long for you feel safe there, and then it all fell apart. now itâs no longer a room with a bed, itâs no longer just a refuge, itâs a home.
he loves you. just thinking about it makes you smile, even as the rain pours down. joel is holding your hand, heâs calling you baby, and heâs taking you home. you donât know how this could get any better.
and then suddenly it does, because as soon as you get home heâs kissing you in the doorway, pushing you against the door and fumbling with the lock. your breaths are labored, and you can hear his own desperate panting as he shoves the door open. he mouths his way down your neck, and you suppress a moan.
somehow, joel maneuvers the two of you into the bedroom, where he lays you down with breathtaking gentleness. you stare up at him, wide-eyed. maintaining eye contact, he slowly kneels and pulls your shorts down to your ankles, where he leaves them and looks away, choosing instead to eye your core, glistening with your slick already. he drags one finger through your folds. when you donât say anything, he adds another, this time pressing into you lightly. you choke on a moan.
his hand retracts, and you canât restrain the whimper that tears from your throat. âjoel,â you cry. âplease.â
âgood girl,â he soothes you, rubbing circles into your inner thigh with his thumb. âdonât hide your noises. i want to hear how good i make you feel.â
another moan slips free. a grin stretches across his face. then heâs burying his face in your thighs and your back arches off the bed, his name spilling from your lips with reckless abandon. heâs messy with it, smearing his spit and your slick across your folds and thighs.Â
you know the walls are thin, but in your bliss you donât care. all you can think of is joel, joel, joel. joel who loves you, and who is unfurling you on his tongue.Â
youâre so close, and then he presses his thumb to your clit and his tongue to your fluttering hole. by the time his tongue breaches your core, your orgasm overtakes you, lifting you up and away. you fall silent for a long moment, but joel doesnât mind.Â
he pushes himself up to your head, kissing you through the high, bringing you back down to him. âshh, shh, shh, baby,â he coos. âyouâre so good for me.â
a soft smile graces your lips, and you pull his lips back to yours, kissing him slowly. âi love you,â you whisper, and though you canât hear it, you feel his lips mouth it back.Â
he shifts up, spreading your legs wider, and you know whatâs coming. he keeps his mouth pressed to yours, swallowing your moan as he slides home, filling you up just right. your mind goes blank, but youâre dimly aware of how deep he is, how full you feel. if you could speak, you would tell him these things.
but as it is, all you can manage is a quiet affirmation. âyou feel⌠you feel so good,â you whimper, eyes squeezed shut. he still hasnât begun moving, just staying sheathed to the hilt in you. âyes, joel.â
he makes his first thrust softly. âthatâs it,â joel says. âmy beautiful girl.â he quickly establishes a rhythm, sliding in and out to the tune of your whines and cries.Â
âplease, joel, please,â you whisper, fisting the sheets in your hands. âplease kiss me.â
you donât have to ask again. instantly, his lips finds yours. he groans into your mouth and braces his hands on your hips, holding you there while he pushes into you over and over.Â
itâs not that long before you can feel your orgasm approaching again. âjoel, iâmâ iâm gonna come,â you say, eyes squeezed shut.Â
âgo ahead, baby,â he commands. âcome for me.â
with one final thrust, heâs spilling into you as you come apart around him. âjoel,â you mewl. heâs still buried deep inside you, his forehead resting on yours as you both float down.Â
when he pulls out, itâs cautious and gentle, and you can feel his love for you. your eyes drift shut, and youâre dimly aware of him walking away, but for once it doesnât bother you. you know heâll come back.
he loves you.Â
as it turns out, he does come back, holding a warm cloth. he wipes you clean and helps you to the bathroom so you can rinse off. he follows you into the shower wordlessly, pressing kisses to your shoulders and forehead.Â
that night, as you lie in bed and feel him curl into you, you donât have to pretend anymore. he really is yours.Â

hii love ur works đŤśđ˝
can I req brat reader giving toji the WORST attitude? đ.
*sinister laugh* Why, yes, you can, noonie! When I saw this, the first scenario that came to mind was the reader being another assassin who likes to get on Toji's nerves. So, imma stick with that!! Had to take an all-nighter to finish this up, hehe~ (no fr tho, it's 8:35 in the morning here) Thank you for loving my stuff, and enjoy~~
A/n: posting this bc I'm staling on my Geto fic since my brain has so much it wants to add...sigh. In the meantime, while I'm working on this, I figured I could drop this as an apology for pulling the fic back (~_~;) My apologies, and I hope y'all like this one! Also tysm for 1.7k followers!! Y'all are too kind and sweet, happy to be writing for you~â Cw: hard dom! Toji x bratty fem! reader - you and Toji are assassins on a mission together - explicit content; minors DNI - implied age gap (the reader is at least in their 20s; Toji in his mid-30s or approaching 40s, up to you) - fingering (f! receiving) - cunnilingus - sexual acts in a public place - degradation (brat, crybaby, slut, whore) - Daddy kink - reader talking smack, but Toji teaches you a lesson - tiny praise - pussydrunk! Toji - pet names (baby, doll, princess) - ends with penetration, but mostly Toji eating you out - unprotected sex (PSA: wrap it up, or get the fuck up) - overstimulation - clitoral play (pinching, pushing, and sucking) - mentions of blood. Wc: 1.8k
You recently joined the hitmen field not too long ago. Still young and new to the workforce, it wasn't the first place you figured to enter for some quick cash. But with your astute skills and abilities, no other occupation best suited you. Besides, it wasn't long before people looked past your recent addition and saw what you were made of. Not only were you good at your job, but you were climbing the ranks, swifting past your inferior subordinates.
It's nothing new, though. You were always good at what you do, better than others at what you do. Doing everything perfectly and effortlessly, that was your style. And everybody knew that.
Everybody but a particular individual. A specific man who always overshadowed you. An older man who snatched your attention the first moment he looked your way, the scar on his lip rooted up with the twinge of his lips.
"Rookies lookin' real cute these days, huh, doll?" were his first words to you. And from that day on, you did what you could to get close to him. Even if that meant irritating him.
From taking his missions to acting as a complete thorn in his side, you do whatever it takes to get Toji's attention. Especially his silent pissed off expressions, which are your favorite to see. And don't let your handler tell you that you two would be on a mission together because the teasing would be endless for the poor, experienced hitman.
Just like today, when you two are deployed to kill an old geezer and his goons for a massive sum of money, Toji goes to one side of the old warehouse to thin out the number of bodyguards and heads straight to the target's den, leaving you to the rest. But imagine his surprise when he sees the old man already dead on the chair at his desk, a stiletto pierced right through his neck, evident of his demise as a stream of crimson staining his yellow dress shirt.
And Toji notices a note left on the weapon, the familiar handwriting in pink with a kiss mark already tells him who wrote it. "Gotta be quicker than that, Grandpa ~" is what he reads in your charming voice, and it vexes him knowing you beat him to the punch.
He sees you leaning on a pallet rack when he returns to the warehouse, and you smile when you turn to him. "Well, that was fast," you play coy, stretching when standing straight up. "Took care of those punks like five minutes ago, figured I'd wait on you."
"I got your note." He wastes no time. He's so hot when he does that.
"Oh? Did ya like it~?" Your hand swiftly grabs something that came dangerously close to your temple â your stiletto. It was thrown with the knowledge that you would catch it. So serious, huh.
"Ya know, for someone callin' me a 'grandpa,' you sure act like a damn kid leavin' y'r toys everywhere."
You chuckle at his complaint. "Awww, did I hurt your big boy feelings with my little words?" You see his green eyes watch your every move as you walk up close to him. "Sorry~, not my fault you were too slow to get the final kill."
Toji raises a brow. "How'd ya get to him before me?"
You shrug with a cheeky grin. "Assassins don't tell their secrets, especially when your old head couldn't get it."
It's his turn to chortle. "Oh yeah? Ya think y'r too fast for me?"
"I wouldn't say that, just that you're too slow for me," your hands go up defensively when he takes a step forward, and you try hard to not get turned on by his well-built physique displayed by the shirt that does a terrible job hiding his features. "As a matter of fact, I bet you're slow at other things."
He takes another step forward, and before you register his next move, he already has you pinned to the pallet rack you once leaned against. His smirk grows broader while your eyes widen at the sudden shifting. "Was that too slow fr' you, princess?"
No, absolutely not. That's what you would want to say to him, his tall figure engulfing you under his presence. But you didn't want to let off that easily, your hand finding the crotch of his pants. When verdant eyes shut to the feeling of your fingers brushing against his bulge, you take the chance to say more. "Oh, that was totally too slow for me, geezer. Such a shame; I thought you'd be a lot more fun. But guess I'll have to go on to the next person who could do a better job."
"Mmm, don't start somethin' y'r not ready for, brat." His gruff voice dials to a whisper, your ears replaying the tone, making the throbbing sensation between your legs prosper. You can feel his erection, even with his pants blocking the view. "Good luck findin' someone who'd shut that pretty mouth of y'rs better than I do."
You giggle after grabbing onto his erect cock, forcing the older man to hiss and his face coming down to your level. You whisper to his ear. "And what makes you think a dumb, old, brute-for-brains like you could satisfy me? I fail to see what you're capable of, grandpa." Those were the words you chose to entice the man under your spell.
But what you really failed to see was the predicament you've gotten yourself in.
Lying on a pallet with your back, your pretty bottoms and panties now discarded to the dirty floor, you scream out to the empty warehouse. Tears and drool escape from your face, and the quiver in your legs is evidence of your body going through the absolute most right now. "Haaahh! Ahhhh!! T-Tojiii, Toji, please!! I'mâHoooohh!!" You grab tufts of raven hair that are stationed between your legs.
The older man holds your legs up with one hand, the other nestled between your slick-coated folds as his middle and forefinger push in and out of your cunt. His tongue licks furiously on your clitoris, your cries evident of the abuse on your tender bud and vulva.
Toji removes the wet muscle and moves his fingers go an instantaneous pace, the tips of his digits scraping your walls resulting in more tears falling off your face without fail. He snickers, "Look at you; all that screamin' and hollerin' like a damn whore have you forgetting simple rules." His thumb finds your clit, pushing down on it every time his fingers are propelled inside. "What did I tell you to call me, brat?"
The unforgiving rhythm of his hand on your bare vulva has you seeing stars and choking on your spit. "I-I'm sorry, Daddy!! I didn't mean to make you mad at me!"
"You sure 'bout that?" His condescending tone matched the devilish twinge of his scarred lips. The digits doing a 'come hither' motion that has your body jerking nowhere, your legs still restrained by his firm arm pushing them to your stomach. "My 'big boy feelings' were crushed with y'r little comments, so here I am gettin' the payback I need. Was acting all high and mighty until I got my mouth on ya."
"But I saidâMmmph!! I'm sorry!" You wail out, your face hot with embarrassment and excitement. "And I already cameâOh fuck...C-Came three times!!"
"You called me names four times, so I expect you to cum one more time, you fuckin' crybaby." He replies coldly, your tears and pleas on deaf ears. "Heh, if I knew havin' my fingers in you like this would have you behavin', I woulda done it earlier. Grippin' on my 'em like a damn slut."
His fingers go faster with no smooth transition as his mouth returns to your soft button, your screams erupting from the back of your exhausted throat. Even with your voice filling the scene, you can only listen to the raunchy noises of the commotion between your thighs. It's enough for you to wish your ears burn at such lewd sounds, and your head pounding worsens the state of your already mushy brain. This is what you wanted all this time â to have the man you've been infatuated with give you the attention to so dearly strived and poked for. However, the intensity of it all was nowhere near what you had expected.
"Nnnmm!! Daddyyy," the title slurred from your mouth feels hot to the tongue, but it's the only way to address him before your punishment intensifies. You peer down to see his black hair come up, fierce emerald eyes taking in your expressions. "It's coming, gonna cum again!!"
"Yeah? Wanna come on my fingers again?" He chortles when you rapidly nod at him, pathetically desperate for your release. "Fine, cum on Daddy's fingers like the slut you are." He moves his hands to the back of your thighs and has his tongue slowly glide up your soapy chasm, tasting your wetness until he reaches your clitoris and attacks the bud more. Circling around and sucking on your precious nub prompts your orgasm to climb up, and it hits you hard when his teeth and tongue grind on your clit.
With final moans of pleasure, you experience your finish with the harsh treatment of Toji's mouth, hands purchasing his hair for faux stability. Your legs tremble with curled toes, and your body jolts with the shocks. And Toji doesn't stop until he licks the slit clean of your essence, slurping up your sensitive folds until his thirst has quenched. All you can do is submit and let him have his way with you, sucking up your fluids from your cunt to the mess of your inner thighs.
"Mmmm, fucking Christ, Y/n," you hear his mumbled curse below. "Taste so fuckin' good, baby..."
Your body soon calms down from the climax, trying to steady your breathing with even breaths. And Toji finally finishes drinking your wetness, drawing his head up to reveal his lips wet with your come, licking it and his fingers. "Bet that wasn't slow fr' ya, huh."
You meekly nod your head. "And I bet nobody's gonna make you shut you up like that, huh?" You nod again.
The smirk on his face scares you, especially when he straightens up to show his erect dick still hard and ready to be free from the tented pants. And when his cock springs out, your sweaty body runs cold immediately.
"Good," he says while bringing you close to him, arranging his cock to your wet entrance. "But we ain't done here." Complaints and pleas aren't able to enter the air because you just watch the tip of his cock bully through the lips of your chasm and enter inside you with ease. He gradually pushes his entire length into you, getting full with every inch as his girth intrudes between your tight, smooth walls.
"Keep up wit' me, baby," his eyes hone in on you, gauging your reactions before he starts moving his hips relentlessly. "because I'm about to show you what I'm really capable of."

â ď¸This is an 18+ story, so minors do not interact, or do??â ď¸
I was currently getting ready for a date. I had been talking to this guy for about three weeks before he finally asked me on a date. I was super excited because I really liked the guy we texted everyday and spoke on the phone about every other day
He told me to get ready, and dress nicely because he was taking me to a fancy spot for dinner. This made me super giddy because I had never been on a date to a fancy restaurant. Most guys wanted to either sit in their car, go to their house or eat at a fast food restaurant. But this guy was giving it his all!
I had finished getting ready at about 8, and he asked me to meet him at 8:30 at the place. So I decided to call an Uber, and start heading over to the place
The Uber ride was exactly 30 minutes. Which was perfect I didnât want to be waiting around like some desperate girl
I went into the restaurant, and didnât see him, so I figured he was running a few minutes behind. I decided to get a table for us.
After I was seated I texted him.
-hey Iâm over by the windows when you first enter. I got a table for usâşď¸
No responseâŚ.weird but I figured he was driving still
The waiter came over asking if I wanted a drink, so I ordered something, and still waited for the guy
-hiii not trying to bother you, but we were supposed to meet 15 minutes ago. Are you at another restaurant??
I wondered if maybe we had gone to different places by accident
I had been sitting in the restaurant for 45 minutes. Waiting for this idiot while also looking like an idiotâŚ.god how embarrassing
I had told the waiter I wanted the check for my drink, and after getting it I paid, and sat at the table a little longer
-you know if you didnât want to go on this date you couldâve just told me. Instead of making me come out here like an idiot
I hit send, and the chat bubble turned greenâŚ.what a fucking dick he blocked me?!
I just rolled my eyes, and exhaled deeply. I was also planning on riding back to his house or mine after the date,so now I had to find a ride home again
I decided to call Matt before I had a mental breakdown. It rang three times before he picked up
âHeyâ he said lowly
âHey Mattâ I said back
âWhere are you?â He asked me
âIâm over at âTonyâs on the waterââ I said back
âOh for that date!â He said perking up
âYeahâŚ.â I said sounding upset
âWhatâs going on?â He asked me
âFucking asshole stood me up, and then blocked me after Iâd been sitting here for 45 minutesâ I said scoffing
âWhat a fucking dick. Send me your location Iâll pick you upâ he said
âNo you donât have to. I can Uber homeâ I told him
âNo donât worry Iâll come get youâ he said
We hung up and I sent him my address. I was sitting outside when I saw Matt pull up
âPretty lady sitting alone. Come hereâ he said rolling down the windows
I rolled my eyes, and laughed at him. Getting up and going to walk to the car. Suddenly I heard a thump and looked behind me, I looked behind me, and saw I dropped my phone
I turned around and bent over mindlessly picking up my phone. Honestly forgetting I had a short dress on, and Iâm pretty sure I just flashed Matt
Unbeknown to Y/N, she did indeed flash Matt, and he got a perfect view of her pussy covered in white lace underwear. His cock immediately started to stiffen. He tried to adjust himself as y/n walked to the car opening the passenger side door
âMy knight in shining armor, thank you for saving meâ I told him sitting in his car
âI told you! Iâm always one call away. I got you whenever you need meâ he said checking his blind spot before driving off
âCanât believe that guy. To ask me on the date, and then ghost me, and then BLOCK meâ I said disbelieved
âHonestly fuck him, he couldnât handle all you anywaysâ he said giving me a once over
âWhat do you mean by thatâ I said laughing
âYou radiate powerful energy, and youâre a bad fucking bitch. He could not handle all of thatâ Matt said winking at me
âOhhh tell us how you really feelâ I said back blushing slightly
âThat dress looks really nice on youâ Matt said, looking at me again, and slightly readjusting himself. My eyes followed his hands, and saw a bulge
âDo you have fucking bonerâ I said with my mouth falling slack
âI canât help myself you looked so fucking hot bending over. Shit went straight to my dickâ he said pulling his sweats down a bit
âI gave thee Matt Sturniolo a bonerâ I said acting fake shocked
âYeah you fucking didâ he said looking at me
âWant me to help you?â I asked batting my lashes
âYouâd do that?â He asked looking at me with droopy eyes
âIâd do whatever youâd likeâ I said seductively
âFuckâŚ.go right ahead thenâ he said leaning back and steering the car with his left hand only
I leaned over slightly palming his dick through his sweatpants. He moaned at this slightly turning his head a little bit
âDoes Matty like that?â I asked looking up at him
âI do, but Iâd like it better if you used that pretty mouth of yoursâ he said looking down at me
âEyes on the road pretty boy, and Iâll do whatever you wantâ I said, his eyes snapped back to the road, and I slowly pulled his dick out
I started to kitten lick the tip, and blowing air on his dick
âCome on stop teasingâ he said patting my head
âShhhâ I said before taking his whole dick into my mouth at once
âOH FUCKâ he yelled out
I started to bob my head up and down, swirling my tongue on his dick, and coming back up to suck the tip
âOh my godâ he said breathing heavily
I removed my mouth and started to jerk him off
âWhat do I getâ I said looking up at him through my lashes
âWhat do you want?â He asked
âI want to ride your dick in the back seat, and have you take it like a good boyâ I said squeezing his tip causing him to shudder
âFuck yes yes pleaseâ he said thrusting up into my hand
Matt had found a secluded parking lot. He went all the way to a dark corner, and threw the car in park
âTo the back nowâ he said
We both got to the back seat. matt laying down and me on top of him
âLook at my good little boy, so ready and needy for meâ I said caressing his face
âAlways. Iâm always ready for youâ he said with puppy dog eyes
Matt pulled his pants down to knee length, and I lifted my dress up slipping my panties off
I slowly started to stroke his dick. At an agonizingly slow pace
âPlease stop teasingâ he said whimpering
âStop acting like a bitch in heatâ I told him
âFuck I love when you talk to me like thatâ he said with his brows furrowed
I slowly got on top of him, letting my wet cunt glide across his dick
âOh Matt, you feel so good. I might just do this and cum all over youâ I said throwing my head back
âNo I fucking need to fuck youâ he said gripping my hips
âMmm but these feels so much betterâ I said grinding a little harder
âStop fucking teasingâ he said smacking my ass
I slowly got off of him, and grabbed his dick lining it up with my entrance, and slowly going down on him
âI said stop fucking teasingâ he said through gritted teeth
This only made me go down slower
âI can play this game with youâ I said as I kept sinking down
âCome on PLEASEâ he said
I finally sunk all the way down onto him. We both moaned at this feeling, and then I started to bounce on Mattâs dick
âFuck Matt oh my godâ I said bouncing on him hard and fast
âFuck fuck fuckâ he said tensing up
I slowly transitioned into grinding on him which allowed my pussy to clench down on him at different angles
âFuck that feels so goodâ he said licking his lips
I immediately stopped, and started to rub my clit
âOh this feels so much better. Rubbing my clit while youâre just in meâ I said throwing my head back
âStop it y/nâ he warned
âOh but Matt this feels so fucking goodâ I said rubbing faster
âYou donât learn do youâ he said, and swiftly grabbed me and sat up
Matt lifted me a little bit as he pounded up into me
âFUCK FUCKâ I screamed gripping onto his hair
âNow youâll learn to not tease meâ he said pounding up into me at an ungodly speed
âOH MY FUCKING GODâ I shrieked. His dick was hitting all the right places, and I was seeing stars
âShut upâ he said as he grabbed my white lace thong and shoved it into my mouth
I moaned at this allowed my head to fall towards him
âFuck your pussy takes me so wellâ he said still pounding into me and smacking my ass
âMMMMMâ I moaned, but it was muffled by my underwear being in my mouth
âYou gonna cumâ he asked in the most smug way possible
I nodded my head furiously. Iâm not sure how Matt got us into this position but he did. He leaned me back so my back was digging into the back of the middle console, and then he was kind of lifted off the seat, and fucking into me in such a delicious way
He licked his thumb and brought it down to my clit rubbing hard
âMMMMMMâ was all that could be heard as my head fell back and I gripped onto the car seats
âTake it! Take it bitch and cum on this cockâ he said pounding into me relentlessly
He rubbed harder, and I immediately saw stars I clenched down onto Mattâs cock as I came. My upper bed came up and my whole body started to shake while my eyes rolled to the back of my head
Matt immediately pulled out, and came all over my stomach. He was whispering fucks as he looked into my eyes. Painting my body with his cum
We were both breathing heavy as we got back up and repositioned ourselves more comfortably
He wiped me clean with a shirt he had in the back seat, and pulled the underwear out of my mouth. Putting them in his pocket
âExcuse meâ I said out of breath
âI need a souvenirâ he said smirking
âThose were my favoriteâ I said pouting
âIâll buy you moreâ he said kissing me
âFineâ I said kissing him back
âWe can go tomorrow. Iâll take you out on a real date like a true gentlemanâ he said adjusting his sweatpants
âSounds good to meâ I said pulling my hair out of my face
âGood, now letâs get you homeâ he said helping me to the front
âSpend the night with meâ I told him
âLet me check my scheduleâŚ.maybe I can make it happenâ he said rubbing his chin
âYouâre such a dorkâ I said rolling my eyes at him
âBut Iâm your dork,â he said, putting the car in drive and taking off.
The End
Once again I hope you enjoyed, and for whoever requested this I hope you loved it đĽ°đĽ°đĽ°

silent treatment - a vinnie hacker short
a/n: requested by anon; lowercase intended
summary: reader gives vinnie the silent treatment after he breaks a promise but they eventually make up

8:54pm
where in the blue hell is he? makeup applied carefully, outfit picked with confidence and pride, i sit at my dining room table with my phone tightly in my hand. i was promised to a date by vinnie, tonight at 7:30. we were both supposed to be going to the restaurant that we had our first date at to celebrate reaching 1 million subscribers on youtube.Â
âitâll be an amazing night for us.â he murmured to me the night before while tracing shapes on my back.Â
âi know iâve been busy with multiple fashion week events, but iâll make it up to you sweetheart.â
i sigh, unlocking my phone to see iâm still left on delivered. time slowly ticks by as i grow more upset over my boyfriend breaking his promise. in a state of frustration and sadness, i head up to vinnieâs bathroom and begin my night routine, my patience hanging on by a thread. after ruining my makeup and crying in the shower, i flop onto my side of the bed.Â
âprincess!â i hear vinnie shout as he barges his way into the house and up the stairs, sounding frantic and out of breath.
âoh youâre here, thank the lord.â
i didnât turn to face him, i didnât want to face him. i stay rolled over facing the wall, pretending to be asleep. did i forget, vinnie thought, or was i genuinely asleep? brushing the thought away, vinnie stripped himself of his clothes, shimmied his plaid pyjama pants over his legs and slipped in beside me under the duvet. whispering goodnight to my âsleepingâ body, he reached around to wrap his arms around my torso to pull me closer. feeling my body tense, he knew i was awake. usually, when we cuddle, i relax in his embrace but tonight he pushed my buttons and iâm not having it.Â
ây/n?â he murmured.Â
âIâm going to sleep on the couch.â i muttered under my breath.
i get up out of bed and take my pillow with me.Â
âhey, wait!âÂ
âi donât want to wait anymore! i waited almost an hour and a half for you and where were you?! nowhere to be seen!â
i feel my chest cave in at the anger iâm feeling. i donât want to look at vinnie, not even be around him. after weeks of not seeing him, he promised me one of the best date nights only to let me down. silence falls upon the both of us as I walk out of vinnieâs bedroom and to the couch in the living room.Â
i didnât get much slept last night, multiple thoughts raced through my mind. vinnie didnât get much sleep either. the guilt was taking over his body, eating away at him as he groggily rolled out of bed. he couldnât fathom the fact that he had broken his promise. time had just slipped away as he was trying on different outfits for the fashion week he just came back from.Â
âmorning.â he mumbles as he makes his way into the kitchen.Â
i donât reply, i just leave the kitchen to head to the living room to eat my breakfast.Â
vinnie was hoping that i would leave all this behind and just talk to him like i normally do but i had other ideas. itâs not that i wanted to over dramatise the situation but iâm so hurt that i donât want to sweep how iâm actually feeling under the rug and just forget about it. iâm used to him going to get fitted for the fashion week events he gets invited to but heâs normally back home at a certain time, especially when he has things planned for us to do. as much as i support him for what he does in his life, i want him to do the same thing for me but i feel like he's not.
âwe need to talk.â vinnie said, disturbing my silence as i bit into my toast.
âbaby, iâm not doing this silent treatment shit. i know i broke my promise to you and iâm so fucking sorry and i just need you to talk to me so we can sort this out. please, i need to hear your voice, i miss you.â the desperation in his voice echoing throughout the room.
âwhatâs there to say, vincent?â i snap.
his eyes widen as i use his full name.Â
âyou broke a promise that you know real well meant a lot to me, to both of us. i was all dressed up for you, my makeup was applied the way you like it, i wore the heels that you adore, i doused myself in the perfume you love, i was ready to celebrate 1 million youtube subscribers but you werenât here, vinnie, and that broke my heart. you should know that i cried, i drowned myself in my own tears while i showered my happiness away. i'm happy for you when it comes to your modelling career and your fashion event status but i also want you to be happy for me in my youtube success and support me just as much as i support you. i feel as though i'm not getting that and it really hurts.â
the words hit vinnie like a truck, the guiltiness growing even more, just eating away at him like a flesh-eating animal.Â
âi know i did, and i said iâm sorry. i understand that i hurt you and i didnât mean to. there was just so many outfits and i lost track of time. itâs not like me to lose track of time, especially when i plan things. i'm truly sorry, my love. i want to be apart of your youtube journey, i want to support you the same way you support me. please let me make it up to you, please.â
the tears welling in his eyes, the sincerity in his words and the heartbroken look on his face had me tearing up.Â
âwere the outfits nice?âÂ
âhonestly, yes. iâll wear one to our date to celebrate your 1 million subscribers.â a smile tugging at his lips as he remembers the one particular fit that he knew would have you giggling like a little schoolgirl whose crush noticed her on the playground.Â
âi was just upset, you know?â
vinnie nods, reaching out to take my hands in his. a light squeeze of my hands motions for me to continue.
âwe havenât seen each other in a couple of weeks and havenât spent a night together in so long. i was all dressed up for you and i was ready to celebrate this amazing milestone of mine with you..â
i laugh at how pathetic and embarrassing i sound.Â
âsorry, i probably sound so stupid right now.â
âno you donât, sweetheart.âÂ
taking my plate from my hand, vinnie places it gently on the table in front of me and carefully pulls me up and into his arms. it felt nice to be wrapped in his arms again like this. i missed it so much. he presses a soft kiss to my temple before speaking up again.
âiâm so sorry, princess, it wonât ever happen again, i swear.â
all is forgiven with a sweet kiss on the lips and everything goes back to the way it was: absolutely perfect.

âyou need help baby boy?â âyes babe!â
you finished helped jack unpack and he went to go shower while you got his sweatpants out since that was all he liked to wear for bed anyway.
once jack got out he quickly put on his pants and laid down next to you.
âi missed you babyâ you started playing in his damp hair and kissing his forehead âmiss you so muchâ jack responded in soft snores. he was face first in your boobs drooling so you kissed his forehead once more and fell asleep with him.

Muscle Head
"Morning, muscle head,"
"Ugh.....what do you want? I literally pounded your ass to oblivion as if that's my girlfriend's tight sloppy pussy last night, what else now?"

"Can you calm down for me, muscle head?"
"Y---yes, sorry about the outburst. I just didn't think you'll wake up this quick,"
"This is 9 AM, this ain't early, muscle head. I noticed the damp towel so you already worked out. Well, last night was great, but don't you think you need to eat again after that draining workout before going on about your day? My feet can get used to a passionate sucking,"
And just like that, the muscular bodybuilder dropped to the floor and grabbed the nerd's hazel brown feet. The bodybuilder sucked each toes with the utmost care and attention while moaning in delight on how delicious of a treat it is and the nerd just smiled proudly while holding his laughter due to the ticklish sensation of the handsome bodybuilder's tongue and saliva.
The whole feet worship lasted for about 5 minutes before the bodybuilder went on another body parts. He lost himself to his Master's barely hairy pits and thin arms while his Master caressed his hair and whispered sweet nothings to his ear. Eventually, he blew his Master's cock before going on about his day as he got some brand partnership talk with one of his sponsor during lunch before another gym appointment with two clients and his own coach throughout the evening. During the stretch of hours he's outside of the house, he behaved normally as if he didn't just swallow the cum of his nerdy loner of a neighbor earlier today
Around 8 PM, the gym is already quiet as the bodybuilder already asked his coach for a 1-on-1 session in his prep to Mr. Olympia so the gym is closed early. When he's doing his set, someone called his coach, so the coach excused himself to pick it up. It's an unknown number but against his better judgement, he picked up
"Hello dumb tool. You must be in the gym, this is your Master speaking, Tobias. Is Aaron still with you?"
And just like that, the Coach reverted to his tranced and enslaved self as he answered monotonously that Aaron is indeed with him and he's currently working on his muscle and poses for next week's Mr. Olympia
"Well, Aaron's little brain probably forget that he's also my subject even though he's out of the house and I told him to be back home before 8:30. That's not going to happen now since this is 8:10 already so I want you to punish him, dumb tool. This is what you're going to do---"
A couple minutes later, the Coach, Tobias, stared at his disciple.
"Are you done with all the reps?"

"Yes, I'm done. Who called? You spent quite some times," he said while taking out one of his earbuds
"It's none of your business, muscle head," said the Coach smirking while Aaron's pupil went wide as his consciousness started slipping away and his entranced self started to resurface once again. But, he's wearing one of his earbuds still so he resisted and started begging
"Coach, what the fuck? Don't say that word again,"
"What? Muscle head? Why? Aren't you a muscle head? Stop resisting and let that bitch ass power bottom out, Aaron. Our Master already told me to punish you for breaking your curfew,"
"Wait.....our Master?? Oh no...." he said, still fighting even though his Coach bombardment of his trigger word clearly made this a losing battle
"This is 8:25, muscle head. Don't you remember your Master's order? Maybe that's why our Master called you muscle head, because your little brain barely have an original thought of its own. You know what, kneel. Kneel to the floor and start repent, muscle head. Beg for your Master's mercy,"
Aaron didn't want to, but his Coach grabbed him by the shoulder and pushed his form as his trembling knee eventually caved in to the pressure. The coach also grabbed the still plugged earbuds and then smirked as he whispered Aaron's trigger word with his gruff voice. Aaron looked up and eventually realized how glazed his Coach's eyes are, and then he started to be pushed to his own subconsciousness as the other Aaron's fully resurfaced

"Now worship me, muscle head. Master is on his way to pick you up and he ordered me to train you to become the biggest slut in this year Mr. Olympia. So let's take this slow so we can still have something to show to our Master when he eventually comes around,"

Random question, during any of your pregnancyâs were you ever insecure about you body, how you were acting, or any of your cravings?
Me and my fiancĂŠ were talking about plans for future kids and iâm to scared to ask anyone else. could you give me a small run through of things to expect?
Thank you so much!!
Hey! I'll answer this both as a woman who has done pregnancy and birth three times, and as an experienced midwife. I don't like the 'horror story' sharing that many women do around pregnancy; it muddies the waters, and is supremely anxiety-inducing for anyone who is pregnant while hearing it.
You need to know I could write, and have written, essays on this.
As a midwife: Pregnancy is this period of unique physiological change in your body and mind, that even when it is normal (i.e. normal symptoms, not a sign of an unwell pregnancy) can be profound and lifelong.
These normal symptoms, including but not limited to nausea and vomiting (commonly referred to as morning sickness, though present at any time of day), weight gain, swelling, congestion, mood changes, appetite changes, stretch marks, heartburn and hip/joint pain, can range from barely present/absent, to severe.
Even severe pregnancy symptoms aren't always considered abnormal unless they're making you unwell (i.e. unable to keep any food or water down).
These symptoms can be altered by many of your pre-existing conditions; your weight and general health, your lifestyle and eating habits, your exercise habits, simple dumb luck/genetics, family history, mental health and body image/dysmorphia, etc.
So in that respect, in a normal pregnancy, I have seen some women who are extremely insecure and struggling to cope with the changes to their body and mind, and some women who absolutely breeze through it like pregnancy hasn't even affected them. Nowhere on this spectrum does it ever surprise me.
So now I'll talk about the average first pregnancy. As I said...the experience varies wildly.
Early on in your pregnancy (up to about 12 weeks) often feels like you're in an utter no-man's land. You feel like healthcare professionals aren't wildly interested in you; they'll take your history and 'book' your pregnancy in from (now this is based on the UK) about 8 weeks pregnancy (please note, your 'weeks of pregnancy' aren't calculated from the moment you fall pregnant, it is calculated from the first day of your last period, so in a woman with a regular 28-30 day cycle, there usually feels like there's a 'disparity' of about 2 weeks in your dates-- there isn't, this is how we calculate it). You may have an early scan or two. Essentially, we wait to see if the pregnancy is continuing; lots of miscarriages happen in the first 8 weeks. About 1/3 of pregnancies will miscarry here, in fact.
Tiredness is real at this stage. You may feel like you want to sleep constantly. It's shit that at this stage you often feel the worst, but feel like you're also just being expected to 'get on with it'. Please ask for help. If your partner isn't an equal partner pre-pregnancy, best of luck to you. You may feel utterly useless sometimes days from exhaustion, and this is normal I'm afraid.
Mid pregnancy drags, but you're usually starting to feel a bit better. The top of your uterus doesn't even begin to rise out of your pelvic brim until about 16 weeks, and the lower part of the uterus only begins to expand and form (creating that 'pregnant' belly look) from about 28 weeks, so don't try to force a bump that simply isn't there. Lots of women are very keen to look pregnant. Just chill. It's okay if you dont. Take it easy.
You do not need to eat for two; your pregnancy uses your intake more effectively when you're pregnant. Do take pregnancy specific multivitamins though. They don't need to be expensive or fancy ones; normal store bought are generally just the same, without all the fancy packaging.
Later pregnancy (the third trimester, 28 weeks onwards), you will likely notice that tiredness creeping in again. This is where your baby is largely formed structurally, and is maturing and gaining size and weight. Please ignore any and all comments from people who look at you and announce that you will have a big/small baby. They're idiots and likely wrong. Laugh it off. Here is where you may start to notice things like heartburn, hip pain, mood changes coming back again. You're heavy, and it's harder to move, and your organs are moving out of the way to facilitate a baby. Cut yourself some slack if at all possible.
So...now to me and what I had.
As Haitch: (tw/cw: suicidal ideations) So it's now a running joke, that my body was so 'good' at pregnancy, so utterly flooded with hormones, that while I became this perfect machine for growing and birthing babies, pregnancy broke me.
I spent every waking minute of the first 16 weeks nauseous and exhausted, bone deep exhausted. I had all the usual symptoms hit hard and early. I suffered severe pelvic separation, agonising pain, and @mrhaitch had to help me up from an early stage.
Thankfully, he was exquisite pregnancy support. Full is based on him, after all.
I ended up on some pretty strong medication for my heartburn, as it was severe enough that my stomach acid was damaging my vocal chords.
Worst of all was my mental health. From 26-28 weeks, your progesterone levels boom. This is normal. But this is where we discovered that progesterone is a very bad hormone for me. I developed severe antenatal depression and anxiety, and antenatal psychosis. I was paranoid, delusional, fragile and had active suicidal ideations. I had plans on how I would end my life. This is all utterly unlike me.
With my first pregnancy, our son was born at 42 weeks after a fast, normal labour, but I don't know how I didn't end my own life towards the end of my pregnancy. With my second two, we were more on it, and my lovely colleagues induced my labours from 38 weeks, purely because my mental health was so bad.
I was watched like a hawk in pregnancy 3. We knew I would lose my mind...and sadly, I did. I was medicated but It did little to help. It was at that point (October/November 2024) that I began writing on Tumblr...and here I am.
So as I have said...lots of things you could expect.
To this day in my 13 year Midwifery career, I have seen fewer than 10 women whose mental health was affected as badly my pregnancy as mine was. So I wouldn't worry too much about that.
Phew. If you have any more specific questions, I would be happy to answer.
Love,
-- Haitch xxx

7 Day Camp Stay. Day: 6
day 6 hoohooohooooooo!
Had some fun at a lake! And I kiiinnddaaa freaked out a bit...
"Donnie, you can play me! Help me cope with my freaking out, okay? Cool!"
Hope yall like my writing for day 6! (Under the cut)
7 Day Camp Stay
Day: 6
The time was 8:23 A.M. The sun was shining, and the breeze was still. Donnie got out of the tent and saw that Mikey was preparing breakfast. Donnie walked over to the picnic table to find 4 bowls of oatmeal.
"Good morning! Hungry?"
Mikey asked. Of course Donnie was hungry, who wasn't?
"Yes, may I?"
Donnie said as he laid his hands around a bowl. Mikey gave him the go ahead. Donnie sat down and started eating. Raph and Leo soon came along. Together they ate breakfast. Donnie wasn't sure but this was probably the first time they actually ate breakfast together during this whole trip.
Even in the morning, they could tell it was going to be a warm day. Mikey suggested they head over to the lake. Raph and Leo were easy to accept. Donnie sat there for a moment to decide. His hip felt better than it did two days ago. Donnie accepted the offer.
Mikey quickly got to work making the sandwiches for lunch later. He packed them in an insulated bag. Donnie tossed on his swim trunks and flipped on his straw hat. They started their short journey over to the lake. Leo was the first to jump in. Raph quickly followed, tackling Leo in the process. Mikey hesitated a bit, but then joined Leo and Raph after they urged him in. Donnie sat on the side lines for the moment.
Leo and Mikey splashed each other with water while Raph was swimming around like a shark. Donnie came over and sat in the shallow water, feeling the small waves wash through his toes.
Raph and Leo were teaching Mikey how to swim. They had Mikey swim back and forth from Leo to Raph. Raph to Leo. And Mikey looked like he was doing a really good job too!

Donnie laid down and played with the water through his fingers. He liked the feeling of gentle waves washing around him. Of course right when you look away, someone starts coughing.
Donnie looked up to see Raph holding Mikey, wrapping his arms around him. Donnie got up and waded over to them.
"Is he okay?"
"Yeah, he just got water up his nose."
Raph said as he patted Mikeys back. Mikey continued to cough.
"Are we done for now?"
Mikey asked between coughs.
"Yeah, it's about lunch time anyway!"
They made there way back to land and ate the sandwiches Mikey prepared. Leo, still having a sandwiched stuffed in his mouth, dashed off to get in the water again. Raph quickly got up and stopped him before he even touched the lake, scooping him up into his arms.
"Nope! Finish your food properly, wait 30 minutes, then you can go back in the water!"
Raph said as he carried Leo back over to the others. Leo groaned. He wanted to go swimming now! They played a few card games while they waited.
Soon everyone was back in the water. Leo came over to where Donnie was sitting.
"Guess what I have?"
"Nardo, if it's a beach ball, I will-"
Leo wipped his hand around to reveal a twig with a few yellow leaves still attached. Confusion became Donnie's face for a moment.
"It's just s stick-"
Leo bopped Donnie on the forehead with it. This honestly just made Donnie more confused. Leo giggled and continued to bop Donnie on the face. Donnie's blank face was worth a fortune to Leo. One of the leaves almost entered Donnie's mouth. He sputtered and waved his hands around. He snatched the twig and bopped Leo in revenge.
Leo snickered and ran back into the water. Donnie began chasing after him. Leo returned playing with Raph and Mikey in the deeper part. They looked so far away. Donnie stopped when he was chest deep in the water. He wasn't comfortable with the idea of going deeper into the lake. What if his hip acted up again and made it hard to swim? Donnie thought about all the scenarios where this could go wrong. But one scenario kept playing on repeat. Over and over and over and over and over-
It felt like the water was slowly crushing him. His knees became weak. The thought was eating at his heart. Making his stomach cave in and his chest feel flat. One of his knees gave way, making him tumble into the water. Frantically, he splashed around, trying to regain his footing. He drew is face out of the water and began coughing. His nostrils burned from the lake water. Donnie quickly turned back and got to a more shallow area of the lake. He got down and continued coughing.
The more he coughed, the faster he breathed. And the faster he breathed, the more he coughed! The unnecessary panic was only building from there. Tears started dripping from his eyes like a rag being rung dry.
He tried thinking about the things around him. He could feel the water, the gentle waves as they splashed onto his back. The same waves he choked on a minute ago. He could feel that twig that was still in his hand. He gripped the stick with both hands and began snapping it into small pieces. Distraction is what he needed, right? Something to occupy his mind.
Quickly, he ran out of sticks to snap. He dropped the bits into the waves below and tightly rubbed his hands. To his mistake, he thought about how fast he was breathing. It felt like he wasn't getting enough oxygen, making it feel like he needed to breathe even faster. Donnie tried to listen to his surroundings in attempt to calm himself down. But all he could hear was his own breathing and-
"Hey, you okay?"
It sounded like Raph, his brother, who is the biggest. But also the most gentle too. A tickle formed in the back of Donnie's throat. He definitely coughed way harder than he needed to.
"Breathe, you're okay."
Raph quietly said as he crouched down in front of him. He very gently touched Donnie's knees to tell him he was right there with him. Raph breathed slow so Donnie could follow. He tapped on Donnie's knees one after the other in a slow and steady rithem. Donnie closed his eyes and tried his best to remove the thoughts from his head. The thoughts that got him so worked up in the first place. Instead, he thought about his family. How they were always, Always there when he needed them.
Donnie started to calm down. But relief came through tears as he began sobbing. He crawled over and curled up in Raphs lap. Raph gently rubbed his shoulder. Donnie hated this. He didn't want to feel weak and vulnerable. But there was no stopping the emotions that were spilling out. Donnie clung tighter to Raphs tank top. What would Donnie do without Raph?
"You wanna go back to camp now?"
Raph asked. Donnie nodded his head. Raph picked Donnie up and signaled the others it was time to go. Of course Leo and Mikey would complain, but they did as told. Mikey grabbed the insulated bag and caught up with the others.

When they got back to camp, Mikey immediately started making a fire. Tonight was bacon and beans! He cut the bacon into piece and tossed them in a skillet with some onions over the fire. They simmered till the onions were soft and the bacon was crispy. Then he tossed in some beans, molasses, brown sugar, ketchup and mustered. He waited till the liquids turned into a syrup. He served it on some plates and gave it to the others.
They ate around the camp fire while they dried off from the lake. Donnies energy felt so drained. He looked around blankly, trying to figure out what he was supposed to do. Besides eat Mikeys delicious food he made for all of them. Donnie finished, brushed his teeth, and headed to bed earlier that night.
___________
I love my Papa so much! The fact that I can curl up in his lap, even though I'm grown up now, is just something I'll never take for granted. :]
Alsooooo, I'm not the best swimmer. And I don't like the idea of swimming in a lake with no life jacket. (We forgot to bring them...) that's what mostly freaked me out.
If you enjoyed day 6, then WOOOOHH YEAH! SOMEONE LIKED MY WRITING! IM SO HAPPY I CO- *COUGH!* *COUGH!* *COU- Give me a sec...
Lord bless you! â¤ď¸

~Mid to West~
Eddie Munson x Henderson reader road trip AU
Pairing:Eddie Munson x Henderson reader
Warnings:none
Words: 1,800
A/N: Had this idea a while ago finally decided to write it down.

Dustin wanted something; you knew it. Heâd been doing your chores, letting you use the bathroom to get ready in the mornings without complaining, letting you take the first shower, folding your laundry, which he knew you hated doing.
You hadnât said anything, not one to look at a gift horse in the mouth. However, it finally came to a head when Dustin came into your room with this morning tray in hand (the one your mom always used to bring you breakfast in bed on your birthdays or when you were sick). a bowl of honey nut Cheerios, a glass of orange juice, and a bowl of mixed fruit sit on top of it.
âI made you breakfast,â he said as he walked to you.
You gave him a strange look as he sat it on your nightstand. It was the weekend, so you had just been lounging around reading your new book since you woke up. âWhy?â You finally asked, sitting up against your headboard, taking the food and starting to eat, still looking at him quizzically.
âWhat canât a little brother just do something nice for his older sister, whom he loves so much?â Dustin defended unconvincingly.
"Yeah, they can, but you donât,â you said, rolling your eyes. âCome on out with it, shitbird, you wait much longer. Iâll have finished my food, and youâll have to wait till you can make a whole other meal,â you joked, popping a grape into your mouth.
"Alright, fine,â Dustin sighed, sitting on the edge of your bed. âI do want something, and I want you to really think about it before you say no.â He trailed off, avoiding your gaze.
âOkay?â You egged, kicking his shoulder lightly, ready for him to get on with it.
"Well, you know how summer break starts next week, and Iâve outgrown science camp, and thereâs no way mom would let me fly. You know how much planes scare her, and Susieâs parents wouldnât let her either, but Mom would probably let me if you went to and drove me." Dustin paused, seeing the confusion on your face. âWould you take me on a road trip to Utah to visit Susie over the summer? Well, not the whole summer, but while itâs happening." Dustin finished rambling, looking at you hopefully with his best puppy dog eyes.
"Ugh,â you groaned. "Really, Utah, come on, itâs like the asscrack of America.â
âNo, Iâm pretty sure thatâs Florida.â
âI donât even have a car; how are we going to get there?â You asked, both loving and hating, the way your little brother's eyes lit up.
âDonât even worry about that; Iâve got it covered. Is that a yes?â He asked far too excited at 8:30 in the morning.
âItâs a yes if you can find us a car and somehow convince Mom to let us go,â you told him, condescendingly.
âYes! Yes! Thank you, thank you, thank you; you're the best sister ever!â Dustin exclaimed, hugging you tightly.
"Yeah, yeah,â you mumbled, rolling your eyes as you tussled his hair. âI know, and donât you forget it.â
***
Thatâs how Dustin found himself here, cleaning up after hellfire, about to ask Eddie if heâd be willing to drop his summer plans to drive him and his sister to Utah so he could see his girlfriend.
By some miracle, Dustin had convinced his overprotective mother to let him go, and Eddie was the last piece of the puzzle. Well, at least his van was deciding that even if it wasnât the most reliable, it was the most spacious, meaning youâd have to spend less money on motels along the way, and you could fit more people, Lucas and Steve, on the top of his list to invite once he got the older boy to agree to this somewhat questionable plan.
âYouâre oddly quiet, Henderson. Whatâs going on in the ginormous head of yours?â Eddie asked teasingly as he packed up his dice and began sliding his books into the book bag heâd had since his freshman year.
âWhat are your plans for the summer?â Dustin blurted it out, unable to keep it in any longer.
"Umm, I donât know. Maybe plan a new campaign. I'm going to try to deal at some of the parties and make some extra cash. You know, I really enjoyed my last summer before Iâm hurdled into a life of adulthood,â Eddie said, shrugging and throwing his bag over his shoulder. âDonât get me wrong, Iâm ecstatic about finally graduating, but now I have to actually grow up. It's a bummer." Eddie sighed jokingly, getting ready to lock up. They had one more hellfire meeting before school was over; it was all oddly emotional for him.
âWell, how fun does a road trip to Utah with your favorite little buddy sound for summer plans?â Dustin propositioned himself, smiling hopefully at him.
âLike actual hell,â the older boy deadpanned, walking out of the old drama room.
"Oh, come on, please, itâll be fun, I promise, and me and Y/N really need your van,â Dustin pleaded, following after him.
âY/N will be there?â Eddie asked, stopping in his tracks and smiling brightly when Dustin nodded. "Well, why didnât you say so sooner? Utah sounds great!â Eddie exclaimed.
"Really, you only want to go for my sister?â Dustin asked with mock sadness in his voice.
âNo Dustin I only want to go for your hot sister,â Eddie paused, laughing at the way Dustinâs nose wrinkled in disgust at his words. "Besides, you only want me to go for my van,â Eddie pointed out as they began walking to the parking lot.
âFair enough,â Dustin shrugged, walking beside him.
âSo whereâs Utah, like Canada or something?â
âOh my god,â Dustin mumbled, shaking his head, already regretting asking him to come.
***
After a week of anticipation a graduation ceremony where you, Robin, Eddie, and Nancy walked the stage and a lot of time spent making Eddie look at a map, it was finally time for your trip to begin. Dustin had been practically bouncing off the walls all morning, and he was excited to spend what you had calculated to be almost 23 hours in a car, not including stops.
Somehow, you ended up with six people coming on your little road trip: Eddie, Dustin, Steve, Robin, and Lucas.
Lucky for you, the Wheelers already had plans to visit the Byers, so you didnât have to shove two more in there, and Max was going to summer camp.
You could practically hear when Eddie pulled into your street loud vehicle blasting music and erratic driving, doing nothing to keep him stealthy.
âAre you sure you guys really want to go?â Your mother asked you for the hundredth time. âMaybe you should stay.â
Dustin threw his head back, dramatically letting out a groan. âCome on, Mom, we talked about this. Weâre going to be fine. Youâve got to give Dusty Buns a little freedom, plus Iâll be with him the whole time.â You paused walking over to Dustin, who was giving your mom puppy dog eyes, pinching his chin in between your fingers. âBesides, who could say no to this face?â you coed, knowing that as overprotective as she was, she had a hard time telling him no.
"Okay, okay, just be careful and call me,â she conceited, pulling you both in for a hug that you gladly returned as Eddie stopped his van. âI love you both; be careful,â your mom said, finally heading inside after one more hug for the both of you.
"Alright, come on guys, weâve still got two more stops,â Eddie yelled from the van.
âCome on, DustyBuns, your damsel awaits,â you said, ruffling his hair and walking to the van.
***
After a few hiccups, I.E. Steve packing everything he owned you were finally on your way out of Hawkins Eddie driving you sitting shotgun with Dustin Steve Robin and Lucas in the back.
âI canât believe this was the best way to spend my summer,â Robin groaned.
"Oh, come on, you guys, stop acting like weâre not going to have a blast,â Dustin said. "Besides, weâre already out of Hawkins, so youâre stuck,â he told you guys, mockingly pointing at the leaving Hawkins/Hell sign.
âOh yeah, I guess we are,â Eddie said, distractedly casually flipping the bird to the sign as you passed it. âI guess you can probably come out now, red,â Eddie said, making everyone look at him in confusion.
âFinally!â You heard making all of you jump and shriek as you saw a figure jump out of the pile of blankets sitting in the corner of the van.
âMaxine Mayfield, what the fuck are you doing here?!â Steve yelled, clutching a hand to his chest.
"Yeah, sheâs supposed to be at summer camp,â you scolded, seeing the smirk grow on Eddieâs face.
"Oh, come on, sweetheart, I couldnât let one of my sheepies rot while we had all the fun,â he said, wiping the smirk off his face to pout at you comically.
"Yeah, Eddie was just helping me,â Max said, working her way to the front of the van and joining Eddie in looking at you pitifully. âPlease donât tell my mom I want to spend the summer with you guys.â
"Yeah, come on, doll, can we keep her?â Eddie asked hopefully.
"Yeah, let her stay,â Dustin and Lucas said, joining the side of Eddie and Max.
"Yeah, come on, we could use another girl." Robin joined in, leaving only you and Steve.
âAww, what the hell, yeah, letâs let her stay,â and now youâve lost Steve too.
âPlease?â Max said one last time you looked at the whole van teaming up on you, eyes wide and sad as they waited for your answer.
And you almost held your ground until you looked at Eddie, his big brown eyes peering into your soul. His bottom lip jutted out.
"Fine,â you sighed, making the whole van erupt in cheers.
âThank you, thank you,â Max said, hugging you.
âYouâre really the best!â Dustin Lucas Robin and Steve all cheered one after the other as they went to talk amongst themselves, happy to have added a member to the group.
âThank you, youâre my hero, princess." Eddieâs words caught your attention, finding his eyes already on you and smiling brightly.
"Oh, shut up,â you laughed, rolling your eyes as your face flushed at the nickname âAnd look at the road before you kill us all.â You finished pushing his chin to make him look at the road as you both laughed.
âAlright, road trip, baby, letâs go!â Eddie yelled, making the van erupt in cheers once more. You joined them this time, happy to be spending the summer with people you cared about.
Boy, were you guys in for itâŚ

Fire in My Heart pt 2
for @milfjuulpod who asked for a second part :)
Summary: You and Melissa host a barbecue where the crew officially meets you for the first time. Melissa is nervous, to say the least.
Part 1
WC: ~4.1k
Her friends from work are coming over today for a barbecue. Theyâve all been here before. The only differences this time around are that they know you exist now, and youâll be there. But even before, theyâve been here. It was always owned by the two of you. So when Melissa wakes up that morning in a panic, you really donât understand why.
âBabe,â you whine as she tries to roll out of bed. You pull her back to your chest. âCâmon. I wanna lay here with you.â
âWeâre having guests today,â she says as she tries to fight out of your arms. âWe have things we have to prep.â
âYou did most of your food prep last night,â you remind her as you kiss her neck gently. You nip at her again before she can say anything.
âWe have to clean the house,â she tells you, matter of factly. Then she lets out a small groan at your affections.Â
âThe house is spotless,â you mumble into her skin. âMel, your friends have been here before. Itâs not that big of a deal.â
âIt is,â she whines. âTheyâre meeting you for the first time, and I want it to go perfectly.â
âSince when do you care what anybody at work thinks besides Barbara?â you chuckle softly.
âIn case you forgot, Barb is coming,â your girlfriend tells you. âAnd I do weirdly care what they think.â
âAnd Iâm sure it will be just fine,â you try to assure her.
âItâs never too early to start,â she tries to argue.
You look over at the clock on your bedside table. âHoney, itâs⌠7:15 in the morning. They arenât coming until three. Câmon. Just lay here with me. Iâm tired, and I want to spend time with you before things get crazy.â
âTwenty minutes,â she tells you sternly as she stops trying to wiggle away from you. You grin as you hold her close. She stretches to press a gentle kiss to your cheek with a grin.Â
You manage to fall back asleep, and when you wake up again, Melissa isnât curled up with you anymore. You roll your eyes and slip on a pair of shorts before heading downstairs to see what she could possibly be up to at⌠8:27 in the morning. Youâre somewhat shocked she didnât wake you after the promised twenty minutes had passed, but youâre grateful for the extra hour of sleep.
With a yawn, you enter the kitchen. You can tell she already made breakfast, and thereâs a pot of coffee calling your name.
âMel?â you call out.
âIn the yard!â you hear her voice float in from the screen door. âYour breakfast is in the microwave waiting for you!â
You grab your things with a tired smile on your face before heading outside and sitting at the table. The redhead is currently on her hands and knees pulling out weeds from the potted plants the two of you keep.
âBabe, take a break and come sit with me for breakfast,â you sigh as you let the hot steam rise from your coffee into your face.
âIâm weeding,â she sighs.
âNo one is going to- well, Gregory might, if what you have to say about his gardening is true,â you shake your head. âBut come on, Mel. Itâs only 8:30, and they wonât be here for another six and a half hours. I think you can spare ten minutes to sit with me while I eat.â
âYouâre lucky I love you,â she rolls her eyes as she stands and dusts herself off. She goes inside to grab her own coffee before sitting next to you.
âOh, câmon, hon,â you try to pull her into your lap.
âY/N, Iâm covered in dirt right now,â she tells you as she bats your hand away from her body.
âIâll shower,â you snort and pull her all the way into your lap. She huffs playfully but gets comfortable on top of you, kissing your hair.Â
âSo, whatâs on the agenda today, my love?â you ask as you take a bite of your breakfast. You know she wants today to go perfectly, and you really donât feel like dealing with a Melissa Schemmenti meltdown before her friends come over.
She smiles at you before rattling off the list of things she wants to accomplish before they come over.
âI can handle the living room if you want to handle the kitchen,â you offer. Itâll help the two of you cross things off your list faster, and you wonât be in her way while sheâs finishing her food preparations and setting everything out. âWhen Iâm finished that, Iâll clean the grill and run out to grab some more propa-â
âI already got it,â your girlfriend says sweetly. âItâs in the trunk of my car. You just gotta bring it around back. I also picked up some more beers and seltzers. The only thing you might have to pick up is another bag of ice to put in the cooler for the drinks.â
âAnything for you,â you tell her as you kiss her shoulder. You notice how tense she is. âHoney, itâs gonna be fine. We really donât even have all that much to prep today, so we can take our time, yeah?â
âIâm just nervous,â she admits to you. âI want this all to go perfectly.â
âItâll go just fine, Mel,â you promise her as you finish up the last of your french toast. You pat her back. âAlright, up. If weâre going to get you to calm down by the time your friends get here, we have things to do.â
You finish cleaning up the living room by 10:30. Youâve cleaned the grill and put in the new tank of propane by 11:15. The beers and seltzers that your girlfriend bought are sitting in the mudroom waiting to be taken outside by 11:25. The cooler is sitting right next to it.
âBabe?â you wander into the kitchen, twirling your keys around your finger. Sheâs standing at the island trying to set up the charcuterie board sheâs insisting on making. You snake your arms around her waist and set your chin on her shoulder. âHow many people are we having over? Because damn did you buy a lot of drinks.â
She shrugs as she continues to set different meats on her serving board.Â
âWell, theyâre all inside,â you relay to her. âIâm off to go grab the ice to put in the cooler. Do you need anything else? Or maybe want to take a break and come with me?â
âCan you pick up another thing of brie?â she asks you. âAnd maybe some chocolate covered almonds?â
âI can do that,â you chuckle. âAnything else? Maybe some Xanax?â you tease.
âHey,â she pouts.
âBrie and chocolate almonds,â you repeat to her. You silently make a note to also pick up a bouquet of flowers for her. âGot it.â
âThank you, hon,â she sighs quietly. She pauses for just a second to press a quick kiss to your lips. âYouâre the best.â
âI know,â you laugh as you give her one more gentle squeeze and peck her cheek. With a playful toss of your hair, you release her and head out to the store.
When you return, you quickly dump the ice into the cooler and arrange an assortment of drinks into the container. You make sure to take two out of the pack to take in with the cheese, almonds, and flowers.Â
âMel?â You call as you walk into the house.
âOutside! Backyard!â you hear her voice float into the house.
âIâm putting the brie and almonds on the counter,â you tell her as you set them down. You make your way outside with the flowers and drinks, and sheâs currently rearranging the chairs. âHon.â
âWhat? Iâm making sure that the seats are- some are in the shade and some are in the sun,â she tells you as she continues fussing over them. She has yet to look over at you holding her favorite flowers.
âMelissa,â you sigh. You set down the drinks you brought out and take her by the shoulders. âSweetheart, itâs going to be okay. People can move the chairs as the sun moves.â You kiss her gently and hand her the flowers.Â
âYou got me flowers?â she asks softly.
âI did,â you tell her. âI thought they might help calm you down⌠I also brought beer.â You jut your chin out in the direction of the drinks.
âYouâre too good to me,â she shakes her head.
âThat ainât true,â you roll your eyes. âIâm treating you the way you deserve.â
You let her go and crack open her beer for her before taking a sip. Itâs an IPA, and god⌠she laughs at the face you make. You hand it to her with disgust.
âWhy do you always take a sip when you know youâre going to hate it?â She asks as she brings the bottle to her lips.
âI like sharing with my girlfriend, but Jesus Christ does that stuff taste like dirt,â you quickly open your own seltzer to get rid of the nasty taste in your mouth. You sigh in content. âSo much better.â
She takes your can and takes a small sip of it. âEh.â She puts both drinks down on the table and starts fussing over the chairs again.
âHoney,â you sigh. âI think everything looks fine. Why donât we go inside, finish up the charcuterie board, put your flowers in a vase, and then⌠I donât know about you, but I need a shower.â You wiggle your eyebrows suggestively. She smacks your shoulder playfully but nods.
After a longer shower than anticipated⌠the two of you get dressed and ready for your guests.
âHelp me set the sides out?â she asks softly, and you can tell sheâs getting more and more nervous again.
You frown at the way sheâs balling up her denim over-shirt in her hands. You nod. Usually, you let her do it because sheâs rather meticulous about it, but sheâs asking for your help, and youâll do anything to make her life easier for her. You let her instruct you on where to put things and what spoons to put where and- âHon! Donât put the plates on the edge of the table, or Janine will knock âem all over the floor!âÂ
âSorry, babe,â you apologize. Sheâll say sheâs sorry for snapping on you over something so stupid later, but right now sheâs stressed and youâll just let her be. Itâs for the best that you just let her so her thing. You put the plates exactly where she wants them.
âJust let me do it,â she finally snaps and snatches the cups from you. âJesus.â
âMel,â you look at her with furrowed brows.
âSorry, sorry,â she sighs. âIâm just-â
âStressed,â you finish for her. âI know. But itâs all gonna be fine. Everything looks gorgeous, including you. Now, Iâll let you handle this while I grab the cooler from the mudroom and take it outside, but you need to take a deep breath and try to reset, or youâre going to lose it.â
You head into the room over to grab the cooler before she can say another word. You take it outside and grab another seltzer for yourself and a beer for her.
âI grabbed you another,â you tell her as you head for the bottle opener hung on the fridge. You take yet another sip of her drink, fully knowing youâre going to hate it, before passing it to her and looping an arm around her waist.
âIâm so nervous,â she admits to you as she leans into your embrace and takes a rather big swig of her beer.Â
âItâll all be fine,â you promise her. You kiss her head, and the doorbell rings.
Itâs Barbara who is first to arrive, and you can see the way Melissa relaxes when her work wife comes in with a big grin, a bottle of wine, and immediately goes to give you a hug.Â
âBarbara, this is-â Melissa goes to introduce the two of you.
âThe woman who has so graciously allowed me to keep burning my candles at the school,â the kindergarten teacher grins. âOh, thank you so much, honey.â
âItâs nice to finally meet you,â you say quietly as you hug her back. âIâve heard so much about you.â
âI wish I could say the same,â Barbara chuckles as she pulls back from you to give Melissa a quick embrace. âBut this one and all her secrets.â
âY/N was never a secret of mine,â the redhead rolls her eyes. âYouse never asked, so I never had the opportunity to tell.â
The veteran teacher hums. âWhere can I put this?â she gestures to the bottle of wine still in hand.Â
Your girlfriend ushers her friend into the kitchen and dining room, showing her the spread proudly. You stay in the living room and fiddle with the television to try to put on some music to have in the background. Theyâve just opened the wine and have barely started to chat about the chaos of the day before when the doorbell rings.
âMel? Do you want me to get it?â
âYeah, hon,â your girlfriend calls back. âThatâd be great, thanks! Did you want a glass of wine?â
âIâm alright, but thank you,â you tell her as you go to the door. On your front stoop is Janine, Gregory, Jacob, and Mr. Johnson. You take a deep breath before opening the door with a smile.Â
âHey, come on-â
âY/N!â Janine grins. âItâs so nice to meet you! Well, actually meet you because we technically met at the fire safety meeting that you had to hold, but you know what I-â Your girlfriend was right. Her coworker does talk a lot.
âItâs nice to meet you too, Janine,â you tell her. You nod in the othersâ directions as well, also saying their names.
âOh, you know all of our names already!â Jacob says, and he looks pleasantly surprised.Â
âMel talks about you guys every night when I get home from the station.â You fight the urge to roll your eyes. âOf course I know who you all are.â
âEven me?â Mr. Johnson asks from the back.
âYeah, Mr. J. Even you,â you chuckle, and the janitor looks mildly impressed.Â
âWell, come in. Barbara is here already. Thereâs drinks outside in the cooler, thereâs some stuff to snack on out in the kitchen, and Iâll probably get the grill going around four.â You usher them in, closing the door behind the last of them, before heading into the dining room yourself.Â
âMelissa!â Janine and Jacob exclaim at the same time as they lay eyes on the charcuterie board.
âYeah?â the redhead raises a brow.
âThis looks exquisite!â the history teacher grins. âI didnât know you could do stuff like this!â
âI ainât just cheesesteaks, wings, and beer like youse all think I am,â your girlfriend deadpans. âI got some class.â
âIt looks amazing!â Janine tags on.
âThanks, kid,â Melissa smiles. âSo, Iâm sure Y/N already told you, but thereâs drinks outside, thereâs snacks in here, and you can hang in or out. It donât matter.â
Everybody heads outside to pick out a drink, and you take the opportunity to pull your girlfriend in close. âSee? Nothing to worry about.â
âI know,â she says softly. âBut you know how I get.â
âI know,â you tell her. âJust know I got you.â
Your fingers intertwine as the two of you follow your guests out to the small little backyard you have. She lets you go so you can pull a chair up next to her, and the second youâre sitting down, her hand is resting gently on your knee.Â
âSo⌠I wish we could say weâve heard all about you,â Barbara chuckles. âBut we know your name and that your the chief of the fire station.â
âThatâs me,â you chuckle. They all lean forward for more information. âWhat do you want to know?â
âGuys, donât grill her,â Melissa rolls her eyes. âSheâs a private person like me.â
âIâll answer,â you squeeze her hand gently. âWhat do you want to know?â
âEverything,â Jacob says immediately.
You sigh. âI was born in Philly, I grew up in Philly and wanted to be a firefighter. Always thought my redheaded teachers were hot⌠ended up meeting Mel at the bar, rest is history.â
âShe said the two of you have been seeing each other for three years?â Barbara asks. You nod. âAnd youâve been living together for the last year and a half?â You nod again.
âSo you know sheâs hit that,â Ava says loudly as she walks into your backyard.Â
âAva!â Melissa whips around and glares at the principal.
âYou know Iâm right,â the woman shrugs as she closes your gate. At the exasperated look everyone is giving her, she rolls her eyes. âDonât act like you werenât thinking about it.â
âHello, Ava,â you chuckle and smile in her general direction.
âDonât flirt with me,â she tells you, making a face. âI donât need Melissa threatening to kick my ass and all that.â
âI wonât threaten,â the redhead says quickly. âI just would do.â
âI wasnât flirting,â you laugh and squeeze your girlfriendâs knee. âI only got eyes for my girl. Redheads, man. Redheads.â
âIf you show up to school on Monday with red hair,â Melissa points a finger at her boss. âDonât think I wonât kick you ass.â
You settle yourself at the grill, away from all of your girlfriendâs coworkers. You need a few minutes to yourself. Theyâre a sweet bunch, but youâre beginning to understand why Melissa is only super close with Barb. You get why she comes home exhausted, claiming that if you thought the kids had a lot of energy⌠Janine and Jacob were another story.Â
Those two are currently dominating the conversation talking about god knows what when you feel someone wrap an arm around your waist. You turn, and of course itâs Melissa.
âHey, baby,â you say softly, kissing her head as you flip a few burgers.
âYou doing okay?â she asks softly, and she hands you a new seltzer. You nod as you flip a piece of chicken. âYou sure?â
âPositive,â you promise her.Â
âWhat do you think?â
âI think Iâm going to have to take a twenty four hour nap when they leave, but theyâre a sweet bunch. They really care about you,â you tell her.
The Abbott group has nothing but great things to say about the meal the two of you put together.
âHave you guys considered a catering business?â Gregory asks. âI even like this,â he says as he eats his plain chicken.
âSeriously,â Mr. Johnson says. âBetween the two of youâŚâ
âMaybe in another ten years,â you chuckle. âSheâll retire, Iâll step down from the station, and we can start a business. What dâyou think?â You look at your girlfriend.
She has an almost unreadable face for a minute before she breaks out into the biggest grin. âIn ten years.â She nods.
The clan ends up staying longer than you expect. You even pull out the small firepit the two of you keep in the mudroom. By the end of the night, youâre a little tipsy, and Melissaâs had more than a few IPAs. Youâre sitting in her lap, an arm slung around her neck as she has a steady hand resting on your hip.
The two of you have yet to leave each otherâs sides, really- neither of you have even broken the seal. But finally, Melissa has to give in.
âBe nice,â she tells them sternly as she pats your hip. You let her up and take her seat. She sends threatening glares to each of your guests before heading into the bathroom.
âSoâŚâ Barb drawls out once her friend is out of earshot. âThree years?â
âThree years,â you confirm. âHopefully many more.â
âWhy her?â Ava asks. âYou could have anyone.â
âMelissa is home,â you say simply. âShe has been since our second date. Iâve known since our second date, sheâs it.â
âOh?â Jacob leans forward and prompts you to continue.
âI suppose I should clarify: our first date was impromptu at the bar. She got stood up, I was there after a⌠rather rough shift, and I donât know why because I never do this, but I worked up the courage to hit on her. We closed down the bar, and our second date was three days later- when my schedule allowed me to see her again. We had dinner here, and I-â you sigh happily. âShe was just⌠more than I could ever expect in a woman. I knew I couldnât let her go.â
âOh, thatâs so sweet!â Janine can barely contain the squeal that leaves her body.
âSheâs my person, you know?â you ask, like a lovesick puppy.
âThatâs how I feel about my husband,â the kindergarten teacher says softly, a smile on her lips.Â
You lean forward to make sure the redhead isnât coming or around the corner before glancing at Barb. You take a deep breath. âI got a ring.â
âYou what?â the veteran teacher gasps.
âI got a ring hiding at the fire station,â you admit. âIâm gonna ask her soon, but I wanted to meet you all before she just showed up with a ring outta the blue and engaged.â
âThat is so sweet!â Janine grins and she grips Jacobâs hand. âYou have our approval!â
âI wasnât really looking for it,â you tell her gently, but she doesnât care.
Melissa returns, and she sees the way that everyone in her friend group is looking at you- like they approve of you.
âDammit, Y/N,â she breathes out as she sits down in your lap. âWhatâd you tell them.â
âThat youâre my girl,â you say honestly. âThat youâre home. Stuff you already know.â
âOh, god. You didnât tell them anything else?â she asks, nervous you exposed her soft side.
âNo, hon,â you assure her. âAll from my brain, none from yours.â
âWell,â Barbara sighs. âI suppose itâs getting late, and Gerald is expecting me home tonight. But, it was absolutely lovely to get to official meet and know you a bit better, Y/N.â
âI guess we should all start heading out,â Gregory says when he catches the yawn you try to fight away. He takes Janineâs hand in his own.
âDonât be a stranger,â the custodian says as he stands from his chair.
âYour tasty ass is welcome anytime at Abbott,â Ava winks at you. She then raises her hands defensively. âMelissa, Iâm joking!âÂ
âAlright, get out, all of you,â the redhead shakes her head playfully. âIâll see youse all on Monday.â
Once her friends are gone, you help your girlfriend clean up the place- as much as you can with the exhaustion setting in. Really, all you do is put out the fire and then help put a few of the dishes into the dishwasher and put away the last of the food.
âWe can finish this all tomorrow,â Melissa tells you as she wraps her arms around you.
âItâs okay,â you mumble. âI know you donât like waking up to a dirty house.â
âYouâre tired, Iâm tired,â she sighs into your shoulder. âWe can clean up the rest tomorrow.â
âOh thank god,â you sigh as you start to practically drag the two of you in the direction of your bedroom.
The two of you prepare for bed, and before you know it, youâre laying half on top of her.
âSo, you actually liked them?â the teacher asks you.
You hum. âSweet group. Told you you had nothing to worry about.â
âI know, but I-â
Talk more tomorrow,â you whisper. âTired, Lissa.â
Thatâs how she knows youâre beat- you only call her Lissa when youâre utterly exhausted.
âOkay, babe,â she chuckles quietly. She presses a gentle kiss to your head. âI love you.â
âI love you too,â you mumble, already on your way to a deep sleep.
Meeting the Abbott crew hadnât been that bad- it was fun, even. You knew from the second everyone had walked in, they approved of you. Because you make their favorite feisty teacher happy. But youâre absolutely drained, and you fall asleep against your girlfriend, ready to continue on with this life that the two of you had built together- without hiding. Soon hopefully, she wouldnât have to introduce you as her girlfriend of three years, but instead as her fiancee.Â

In the Woods Somewhere
Ch. 2 Rainy Morning
trans male reader x Slimecicle, one bed trope, horror themes
Waking up to the smell of a fire already going, I turn to see that Charlie's already up and out of the tent. I'm feeling cold, and a little stiff. I check my phone and remove it from the portable charger we have set up, 8 am. It's early. With a big stretch and a yawn I find my shoes near the entrance of the tent and slip out to see a cloudy sky.
Charlie's tending the fire, and looks at me with a big genuine smile, "Hey, good morning!"
"Morning," I reply, stretching again. "Fuck it's early, how long have you been up?"
"Maybe like an hour,"
"Damn dude," there's a morning grumpiness in my voice that I try my best to shake off, "you eat yet?"
"Just some snacks," he admits, "thought it might be nice to wait for everyone."
"Snacks sound good," I yawn as I finish the words, walking over to the truck to fish out a bag of chips and a bottled ice coffee before settling in a chair next to Charlie.
Thankfully he allows me to sit in silence and finish waking up. Charlie's crashed at mine enough times to know I'm not a morning person. Time moves, but the clouds don't, painting everything in a light gray. The wind blows a cool breeze, and Charlie adds a couple more logs to the fire before I'm finally ready to be a whole person and interact.
"I was really hoping to spend some time at the beach today," I say, looking at the sky.
"I mean we can, but like, it might rain," Charlie frowns at the clouds. "Maybe we should set a tarp up over the picnic table,"
I groan out a complaint at the concept of getting up to do something.
"C'mon man, it'll take like 10 minutes," he says, standing.
"Fiine," comes out of my mouth in annoyance, and I join Charlie at the truck, collecting the tarp while he collects rope. He does most of the work, I just have to stand and hold things in place while he ties knots around trees and adjusts the tarp to cover the table. In my groggy state I can't help but imagine him tying me up instead. Just as we get seated back at the fire, Charlie adding another log, Ted joins us from his tent.
"Mmm-morning," he greets through a yawn, grabbing himself a coffee before sitting down. Somehow Ted is his usually chatty self right off the bat, and keeps Charlie entertained.
I sink down into the chair and pull my hood up to keep out the cold, tuning out the other two and closing my eyes for a quick rest.
When I open my eyes again after what feels like minutes, Ted's cooking pancakes on a frying pan over the fire, Schlatt's up, bottle in hand, and the three of them are laughing.
"Oh shit," I say, sitting up.
"Eyy! There he is!" Schlatt says, sounding condescending to my waking ears, "Good morning, sleepyhead,"
"Fuck how long was I out," I grumble.
"Like 30 minutes," Charlie responds, "you looked so cozy we didn't want to wake you,"
"Thanks man," I say, stretching out my now very stiff back, "Ah, sorry Ted I was gonna make breakfast,"
"No worries dude," he responds, eyes focused on the pancake he's attempting to flip. Glancing down into the fire, it looks like he's tipped a few in already.
By the time everyone's got their pancakes I feel a heavy drop of rain hit my head. We move quickly to get our chairs and the hammock under tarps, and eat while the rain comes down faster and puts out the fire.
"Good timing," says Ted, through a mouthful of pancake, "at least we got to have breakfast,"
Schlatt makes a noise that sounds like agreement as he chews. Then he asks, "Well, what's the plan today, boys?"
"I dunno man, it wasn't supposed to rain at all this week," there's a disappointment in Charlie's voice.
"We could always drive into town, it seemed nice," Ted suggested, refering to the small down with a grocery store, a bar, and absolutely nothing else. I silently thank myself that I'd recently changed my ID marker. A small town bar does not sound like a fun place to be noticeably trans.
"Yeah, I could go for a drink," Schlatt replies, deadpan, before taking a sip of his open beer.
Ted shoots him a disapproving look.
"I guess, I was hoping to spend sometime outside," Charlie says.
"Be my guest," Ted jests, motioning towards the water falling from the sky.
"I'm down to head into town, it's like 20 minutes out, we can always come back if it clears up quick," I say after finishing my pancakes.
"Yeah, let's check it out," Charlie shrugs. My lips curl in amusement at how easily he agrees with me.
From the backseat of the vehicle I peer our into the other campsites. Expecting to see the campgrounds empty and deserted, I'm shocked when I see two kids in rain boots running through the rain. A disgruntled looking mom with an umbrella is trailing behind them. There's a man in a portable gazebo reading a book. There's a couple walking a weiner dog that tries to get in every puddle. In the seat opposite of me Charlie's people watching too.
"How'd you find this place, anyways, Ted?" Charlie pipes up. From the slight furrow of his brows I assume he's got similar suspicions as me. Maybe we shouldn't have joked about it being haunted, maybe we both scared ourselves.
"I booked it online! It had great reviews and decent prices, the beach looked good. There weren't many spaces for RVs and I think most people camp that way now." Ted brags about his find.
Charlie and I exchange a look, uncertainty in both of our eyes.
"I still can't believe you guys convinced me to come out here," Schlatt grumbles. The high maintenance man had brought a lot of luxuries, and we'd all bought him a lot of booze.
"Yeah, you love it out here," Ted says.
"Yeah, whatever," Schlatt pouts. He does love it though. We all know he loves being away from city noise and people, the fresh air, and the ability to just relax. He'd been pretending to complain about it for weeks.
It's an old town. The bar is almost saloon style and the little grocery store has yellow cracking bricks.
Schlatt, of course wants to head right to the bar. I accompany him there while the other two check out the rest of the town. They give me a sympathetic look, but Charlie knows my snacks and Ted'll make sure we get anything we need and more. I shrug when they drop us off.
It's still early enough in the day that the only other patrons are a group of elderly men sipping coffee in a corner. Schlatt stops at the bar and I find us a seat in a booth by a window. The cold wooden bench and rain on glass makes me feel like I'm in a music video for a sad country song.
"So what's up with you and Charlie?" Schlatt questions, sliding me my bottle.
"Hmm?" I'm broken from my daydream with a start.
"You know what I mean," he takes a swing, "out till after dark, the looks you give eachother, the way he dotes on you,"
I look at his smirking face and roll my eyes, "I don't think it's like that,"
"Yeah, yeah, I saw you fuckers holding hands,"
"No, I mean, I was just scared," I mumble the end of the sentence.
"What'd you say?"
"I said I was scared," I turn my face away from him, back to the window.
"Oh no, I'm so scared, I need big strong Charlie to hold my hand," he mocks.
"Dude, serious shut up, it was freaky out there," I weakly defend myself.
Just then, a bird lands in the window beside us, directly in front of my face. It's small and yellow with deep black eyes that stare straight through me.
"Awe look at the little guy," Schlatt touches his fingertips to the window pane. The bird hops over to the spot Schlatt's finger is touching, tapping from its side of the glass. "He likes me!"
Tap tap. Tap tap. We both watch the bird. Tap tap. Tap tap tap tap taptaptaptap. The feathery ball of sunshine ruffles itself up and stretching its wings before hopping farther down the sill. Another one lands where the first one did. It's the same bright yellow with black eyes. Thunk. It raps on the window hard, shaking it's head. Taptaptaptap thunk.
"Oh shit, maybe the windows not good for them," Schlatt stands to pull the curtain across the window just after a third joins the others.
"Weird little guys," I murmur, missing the grey light of the cloudy sky immediately.
"You should make a move," he returns to our prior conversation. "I bet Ted ten bucks you would first,"
"Oh my god. Drop it," I try to seem stern but the red in my cheeks is making it hard. "It's not happening,"
"Sure, sure," he says, pretending to back off. I know it's gonna come up again.
"He's only dated girls, were just friends," I mutter.
"Dude, seriously," Schlatt takes a sip, "I don't think he's straight,"
A flicker of hope wells up and dies quick. We're just friends. I repeat it in my head.
From behind me the sound of tapping grows in crescendo and I flick my head around to see the birds at the window next to us. There's maybe six now, all crowded up as close to me as they can get, pushing eachother to get closer. A chill passes over me as their eyes and beaks all point in my direction. Taptaptaptap, another lands, knocking one of its kin away from the sill. TAPTAPTAPTAP, then another, and another, and - SLAM! The sound of the bartender hitting a broom against the glass rings through my ears. I jump, making it most of the way out of my skin when she turns to me.
She's older, maybe mid-40s, with a look about her like she's been tending this place for years. She's comfortable, or maybe just oblivious; enough so to slam a broom against a glass behind someone's head. With a sour tone she says aloud, "Little fuckers!" When she catches the obvious fear on my face she sweetens herself, "Sorry love, gotta scare 'em off before they bring a whole flock 'round." With a sympathetic smile she returns to the bar.
As I turn back to Schlatt I catch the eyes of one of the men here for coffee. The whole group of them is looking my way. When they see I've noticed they all turn back to their table. Schlatt, on the other hand, is staring at me with a shit-eating grin.
"Scared of some birds?" he quips.
"Of a woman wielding a big stick near my head!" I defend myself.
"Thought you'd like a big stick near your head." he takes a sip, "or is it just Charlie's?"
"Oh my god!" groan in exasperation, kicking at his ankle under the table.
"Watch it!" He doesn't drop the smile.
"I know where you're sleeping," I threaten, pressing fingers into my temples.
By the time the other two meet us we're both three beers in and I'm about ready to strangle Schlatt.
"Hey!" Ted calls excitedly when he sees us. "You should have seen the store- it's got all these old timey display cases-" he slides in beside Schlatt to show him pictures.
Schlatt takes a glance at the screen, but not before giving me a side-eye as Charlie takes the spot next to me. "Yeah man, that's cool,"
While Ted goes through the pictures with Schlatt, Charlie raises an eyebrow at the empty bottles next to us. I silently convey my exasperation through a look that lets him know I'm maybe 10 minutes out from strangling our friend.
"They got anything to eat by here?" Ted's head turns towards the bar. The bartender is leaned on the back counter, going through her phone. "Should we stay for lunch?"
Shifting beside me, Charlie speaks up, "It look's like the sun was breaking, I don't wanna miss beach time." He tries to hide the slight whine in his voice but it's peaks through on the wanna.
An involuntary giggle leaves my lips and I cut it off with a hand slapped over my mouth. The look Ted and Schlatt exchange in response makes me physically cringe.
"Yeah, fine, let's go back," Schlatt agrees in his huffy half-annoyed tone.
While Schlatt pays for his drinks and I wait for my turn with what seems like an old and unreliable machine, I overhear the old men.
"Don't forget to lock your cows up this year, Bill," one of them says with a laugh.
"I fuckin' locked 'em up, the damn things knocked right through the old wall," another, presumably Bill, grumbles.
"Stupid things scared the shit out of us!" a third one joins the laughter.
"Trampled themselves too," Bill rubs a tremble, "no fuckin' cows getting out this year,"
Their conversation drifted on to new topics, but my mind hovered over the words this year. Trepidation makes space for itself in my gut as I mull over what I heard.
I'm brought back to the present by Schlatt's hand patting my shoulder, "Your turn, man,"
"Oh uh, yeah," I step up to the debit machine and absentmindedly make the payment.
We join the guys at Ted's truck and take off back to the campgrounds. The drive back is filled with music and singing and the weirdness at the bar fades out behind us.
After a lazy few hours the sun eventually catches up with the day, and it's not long before it's warm enough to warrant a trip down to the beach. I've managed to put back a few more drinks with Schlatt and a game of cards when Charlie comes bursting out of our tent with board shorts on.
"Beach?" He announces the question.
When my eyes find him I can't seem to peel them away. Fuck, is all I can think to myself until I get kicked under the picnic table.
"Ouch, what the fuck?" I swing my legs out to rub the shin Schlatt just booted.
"Yeah man, gimme like ten minutes," Ted answers from the hammock.
"I need a nap," Schlatt stretches, getting up to take Ted's spot.
"I'll get ready," I shoot daggers at Schlatt. His eyes are closed as he settles but his big goofy grin lets me know he heard the spite in my voice.
In the tent I dig through my bag for swimwear. I hold the shirt I usually wear at the pool in my hands, kneeled on the mattress, deciding. No one knows me here, could I just go without? Scars showing. I absently trace a finger over one of the surgery scars on my chest, then touch the little bit of stubble on my face.
Just outside the tent, Charlie grabs the zipper, "Hope your dick's away, I'm coming in!"
"Yeah, man," I respond, hearing the anxiety in my own voice.
He clocks it immediately, climbing in beside me and zipping us in, "Hey, what's up?"
"I-" don't know how to respond. I clutch the shirt in my hands and just hold it up.
I see his eyes look at the piece of clothing, the one he'd seen me in when we swim laps. It takes him a moment to understand but I see it click in his eyes when he does.
"Oh, uh, okay," he settles himself down next to me. He places a hand on my back in a way that I know is supposed the be comforting, but his touch on my bare skin makes it prickle.
I fight the moan trying to escape my throat and it thankfully comes out as a cough. Fuck, am I hard? Charlie rubs my shoulder and for a second I think I'm going to fall over.
"You don't have to wear it," he says softly.
"I know," is the only reply I can give.
"Here, let me see," Charlie moves to sit across from me and gently tugs the shirt away. My hands drop and my face goes red as his eyes fall over my chest. We're so close, and when he looks back up at my face and sees the blush he turns away fast. "You, uh, you look good man. I mean like, like a dude, no one's gonna say anything."
"Thanks!" I blurt out, sitting there stunned.
Charlie digs turns away to dig through his own bag. Awkward tension hangs between us. "Sorry dude I didn't mean to, like I wasn't trying to-"
"It's fine," I cut him off, turning to pretend to be busy with my own bag.
When he finds whatever he came in her for he leans forward to unzip the tent before leaning back, "Are you alright though?" the softness in his voice has returned.
"Yeah, yeah I'm good." I nod, tucking my shirt away, "I'm gonna go without,"
"Good!" He responds excitedly before correcting himself, "I mean like, good for you!"
I laugh, and push my luck to poke fun, "Sure dude,"
"I mean if anyone's a dick, we're already at a beach, they could totally accidentally drown," he attempts to dodge the gentle teasing.
I push it a little farther, leaning in, "Oh so you're gonna protect me?"
"Ah- that's not- uh fuck," he fumbles for something to say.
Laughter escapes me and I let him off the hook, turning back to my bag, "thanks man,"
"Yeah, no problem,"
Charlie makes his escape from the tent and I sit there for another minute. The buzz of booze his my head makes itself known in the silence. I slide a hand down my shorts and sure enough, my dick is at attention and there's wetness building between my legs. Fuck, Charlie. With my eyes closed I can only see his face as he looked over my chest. I finally let a quiet whine leave my lips. Maybe he does want me. Maybe it's the beers I've been putting back all day. With every inch of self control I have left I remove my hand from my shorts and leave the tent to join the others.
Ted drives us down to the beach, and we enjoy the sunshine, water, and sand for the rest of the afternoon and into the evening. On the way back, we've got the windows down, singing some old country song along with the radio. In any other circumstance I'd groan at the twang, but something about being out in the woods makes it feel like it fits.
The rest of the evening and into the night we eat snacks, roast more hot dogs, play more cards, and drink around the cozy fire. Before it gets too dark each of us take turns heading down to the public showers. With the privacy and space of the stall I try my best to rub one out. The water is cold and I have to wear my flipflops on the slimey floors. I don't even get close before giving up.
When it's well into the night and everyone's heading to bed, I'm wide awake, drunk and hornier than I need to be. When I'm getting ready for bed I fumble out of my clothes and right on top of the blankets. Charlie's inside moments after me with his flashlight on, catching an eyeful of me in my boxers.
"Fuck man, I kinda tipped over changing," I laugh.
"Dude!" Charlie complains, "Put some pants on at least,"
I try my best to sit up, but fall right back on my face, giggling.
"Here, let me fucking help," Charlie sighs, looking through my bag for pjs, "Roll over."
"You're gonna put my pants on?" I say, unable to control the flirty teasing in my own tipsy voice, "Nice,"
"Fuck you're really drunk," he chirps right back. I can hear his smile through the exasperation.
I do roll over and manage to sit up, "You caught up to me not bad though,"
"Not even close the what you had," he tosses the pants at me.
I stand to try to put them on a flop back onto the air mattress before I even make it all the way up.
"Hopeless," he mutters, taking my pjs and trying to get my foot in through a leg.
"Charliiieee," I whine, resisting the help.
"Dude, seriously," he gets one legs through and starts on the other foot.
In the process of trying to dress me, Charlie ends up hovered over me between my legs. The whole thing has my dick throbbing and I just watch his mild frustration with awe. When he directs me to lift myself and pulls my pants the rest of the way up his hands slide up over my hips, stopping to rest on them. The squeak that leaves me sounds pathetic and I slap my hand over my mouth. One of my feet rests flat on the mattress, my knee up in the air. His body slides against my thigh when he does eventually sit up. Thankfully my hand over my mouth hides me biting into my bottom lip hard, suppressing more sounds.
"Dude, chill out," he laughs as he attempts to stand. The wobbly surface of the mattress takes him out and he falls forward, catching himself with hands on either side of my head.
I'm wide eyed as the sudden pressure on the inflatable bed bounces me up towards him. Our faces on inches from eachother. So of course, my dumb ass cracks a joke, "Damn, man, you didn't have to get me drunk to get me under you,"
"Fuck you," he grumbles, but I can hear the smile in his face in the dark.
"I mean, if you want to," I joke right back.
There's a pause from him before he pulls away again, this time rolling to the side to avoid falling. "Man, you are really wasted,"
"Guilty," I wait till he's off the mattress before climbing to my pillow and finding my way under the cozy blankets.
I hear him changing with my face turned away and my thoughts flutter over our day. Schlatt's words, Charlie in his swim shorts, his eyes on my chest, and that pause just now when I told him he could fuck me. God, there's something really wrong with me. I chastise myself. Then, after another thought, no there's not, he fucking wants me.
When Charlie settled into his spot, I consider briefly trying to hold his hand again before drifting off to sleep.
In the early hours I'm ripped from my dreams by a shaking. My hazy consciousness notices it's a hand on my shoulder jostling me awake.
"Dude, what the-?" I start, but Charlie's hand quickly covers my mouth. He's sweating.
"Shh! Listen," he whispers, letting go of my face.
I rub my temples with a hand, still a little drunk and in the early stages of a developing hangover. Then, there it is, in the distance. A barking. It's just a dog? In the dark, I shoot him daggers with my eyes for waking me. Suddenly there's another dog yapping much closer. Likely the weiner dog from a few campsites down. Then another from a different direction. Coyotes join in, yipping in chorus. The sound grows as canines from all over the woods join in.
"It's dogs, Charlie," I grumble under my breath. It's quite erie, but nothing unexpected for the middle of the forest.
"Wait," he whispers. The terror in his breath alerts me, and I also start to feel on edge.
Before long, the surrounding barking is cut off by a long howl. A wolf, but definately nowhere close to us. The dogs pause, the wolf bellows again, and the rest of the yapping group joins it. The howling comes from every direction in synch. I feel the hairs on my arms raise.
"Wait," Charlie says again. His hand never left my shoulder and it starts to squeeze, warning me that this isn't the worst of it.
When the howl dies I hold my breath in anticipation. The lone wolf starts, and when the dogs join in the don't howl, they don't bark. The sound they make is choppy, sporadic.
"Oh my god, they're laughing," I whisper. It's not a sound that should come from a dog's throat. The noise is unnatural, unnerving, but unmistakable.
Beside me Charlie is shaking. "They just keep doing this," there are tears in his voice.
"Hey, hey, it's gonna be okay," I say in an attempt to sooth him.
The shaking gets worse, and I take his hand off my shoulder. Working hard to move my body, I turn to him, sliding one arm under his head and wrapping the other around him. It's not hard to get him closer, he practically rushes into my arms. He settles his head on my chest and I stroke his hair as I hold him tight. Tears run down my bare skin, and I can hear Charlie sniffling.
"Shh, shhhh, I've got you, we're safe," I whisper as he curls up as close as he can get.
"I'm sorry," he whispers back.
"No worries, I've got you," I whisper back.
We lay like that for awhile, and eventually he falls asleep. My eyes are open, staring up into the pitch black of the tent. As I think about the days events I think instead of the birds on the window, the men talking about cows breaking down a wall, and the strange laughter of the dogs in the woods somewhere. I fall asleep too, but not easily, and my dreams are filled with little yellow birds with black beady eyes.
