I've been thinking, about how you would make sea creature kazumaji... do you already have headcannons for that or is it something more new?

a lil mix of both 🤔 I originally drew eeljima for MerMay and was gonna leave it at that but I got really attached to the idea of kiryu and his dumb fish boyfriend so I rolled with it kdlsjfddsf. I got a few ideas tho 👀

majima's an eel - nothing specific but I leaned to electric since the rpg games give him electricity as an element. also, knifefish (what a coincidentally convenient name 👀) have spots that remind me of his snake's spots so that fit well with his overall theme plus they're related to eels so even better >:D saejima's also a fishdude, a grouper specifically because they're huge and chonky but also gentle uwu

kiryu's a silly lil fisherman guy, one of them commercial types that goes out on a boat to get big hauls. nishiki's there too being the saddest wettest little beast. other characters make up part of the crew in similar ways the canon families are set up. so like kazama and kashiwagi for example are captains of the crew

I have thought about if they were fish too if I wanted to do a branching AU of this and kiryu could maybe be a thresher shark - because they got that big slappy tail but also their huge beautiful eyes™. OR a betta fish because I think the colors would really compliment his heat colors. nishiki can be a koi because of course

kiryu and nishiki live in a lil shack on the shore. nishiki hates it but kiryu likes the simplicity and being close to work. nishiki would move closer to the city but frankly all the haircare product he buys is so obscene that he can't afford a place on his own ✌

majima and saejima (+ yasuko) live in some nearby kelp forests/coral reefs. merfolk tend to stay away from humans and live further out in the ocean, deeper underwater but these three take advantage of all commercial fishing going on to get some easy food. but being so close to fishing trawlers, this leads to majima getting caught in a discarded net, being trapped and beached where kiryu finds him 👀

merfolk can breath air and go on land but it is as awkward as you can imagine. when majima hangs out with kiryu, kiryu drags him up the beach to enough dry land where the tide isn't a problem. merfolk do have to be moisturized often so majima's either doused with a bucket of water or gets a big ass lathering of lotion. whether or not that'd actually be realistic doesn't matter to me I just think it'd be funny for nishiki to be very suspect of the comical amount of lotion kiryu suddenly starts buying

majima's fav thing to do with kiryu is have him fry up some fish since he's never had cooked food before and thinks it's the bee's knees. kiryu will often go into town to buy all sorts of things for majima to try or majima will catch some wack fish from who knows where for kiryu to fry up. they pick secluded beaches as not to be disturbed but kiryu is ready to fling majima into the ocean at a moment's notice just in case

majima has a second set of jaws normally not visible unless he's snacking on a fish. sometimes he pops em out for a smooch and kiryu is wary but willing to try anything 😤 nishiki is often very worried about the numerous weird bite marks kiryu comes home with but kiryu chalks it up to clumsily falling face first into some coral. you can tell by now I'm very into the trope of person dating a cretur is very bad at keeping it a secret dsklgjk

majima tends to have electrical flare ups when he's feeling emotional so kiryu ends up getting zapped a lot. it's not enough to be dangerous but kiryu has since avoided touching light switches and makes nishiki use them first

rarely kiryu will take majima out on the town in a wheelbarrow covered in a blanket and everyone's like *squint* but eventually gets used to his funny lil friend who seems fascinated by literally everything

there's defo some tigerfish action at a later point once nishiki eventually decides to follow kiryu to one of his little secret beachside escapades to not only find out kiryu's being a weirdo as usual but now with a weirdo fishguy. on the other side, saejima is eventually convinced that there is not a bunch of people on the shore waiting with harpoons and nets and joins majima for one of kiryu's fish fries and finds out hey maybe humans ain't so bad if they can put up with majima for more than five minutes

We went to see Phantom Madrid last weekend!! ❤️ Geronimo Rauch was amazing!! I'm going to write my thoughts on the whole performance under a cut for those interested 😊

I am going to be comparing it to the London version for reference since it's the only one I've seen live. I think my first impression was that It was better than I expected it to be! I read opinions about the Trieste production and I was a little worried but I found that I enjoyed a lot of the things I've seen being criticized.

The stage spinning around was awesome and added so much depth to scenes and made transitions very smooth. The backdrops were very nicely done!

As for costumes I think they were pretty good with the exception of Aminta's dress and the Masquerade costumes being kind of underwhelming.

The singing was good overall, although the translated lyrics are weird sometimes. The main songs translate well but some others become very confusing in Spanish, some wording seems forced and some notes are slightly altered to fit the phrases. Raoul is very calm and soft, maybe a little too much at times, Christine is very neutral and simple. Geronimo was amazing tho no notes!

Now the acting! I have opinions 😫 This show was very Christine and Raoul centric to such an extent that it flattened the plot for me 😬 Christine seems scared and disgusted from start to finish so there is no conflict in her character. She is never torn, she recoils from the phantom's touch during Music of the Night, and during Final Lair she sings the "pitiful creature of darkness" lines looking at Raoul the whole time backing away towards the phantom and steeling herself and only turns reluctantly at the last second to kiss Erik. She comes back to return his ring and just leaves it on the organ stool as soon as he turns around because she's scared to get close to him, when he sings "I love you" she shakes her head at him 🥹 like girl please give us something!!

Geronimo's phantom is a delight tho!! He whimpers, crawls, cries, screams, pants, it's great. He's acting his butt off and is the highlight of the show for me.

A thing that I really liked was in the end when the mob comes Erik is curled up in his bed crying and Madame Giry finds him there and tells him to hide under the covers and leads the mob away from him, I thought it was sweet and transitions into LND nicely.

OH also!! I really enjoyed the Phantom swinging on a rope across the stage during the ballet and Buquet's hanging, it's so good!! the flaming chandelier scene is also good!! in Final Lair they actually hang Raoul in the air which was very nice too! (and with his shirt still on) and even the angel wings and flying that I've seen people hating on was honestly so cool. It didn't look as goofy as I expected it to, it's very smooth and the lighting makes it scary, he casts thunder and flies!! the wings are not very visible since the scene is very dark. The light work was super good in general.

Masquerade and Don Juan were a bit of a let down, much simpler but not bad. I think my main issues were about the choices for Christine really 🤔 and I think some scenes needed more movement, especially the roof one (they couldn't move because they are sitting on a ledge)

The show in general feels a bit one note compared to the West End version but it was good!! I'm just nitpicky 😂 also I want Geronimo's autograph!! I love him 😭

Hazbin Hotel Episode 1-4 Hot Takes! ~

They finally dropped. They are finally here, and I have A LOT to say. (Good & the bad, my opinions of course.)

Episode 1 was kinda boring and it just seemed overall weird and off. It didn't really pick back up that well, or align with the pilot too much, and the pilot slapped.

I feel like for those who haven't seen the pilot would be so confused with what is going on or who the characters even are. It feels like you also have to do a bit of digging to actually figure out other details.

I wasn't expecting to like Adam he was funny asf and I loved his singing. Love Alex Brightman he's great.

I can see what people are saying now when they were talking about the premise changing or being different, it definitely seems that way. It just feels like it's all over the place and there's multiple things happening at once. A bit confusing.

Charlie just looks weird to me I don't know why, I kinda like how she used to look.

Sir Pentious new voice is better. Again, love Alex Brightman. Lol.

Loser, Baby, Hell is forever, Poison, & Respectless are the best songs so far. Stayed Gone is ok too tho.

I'm interested in finding out why Lilith & Alastor were gone for like 7 years. I wonder where they went and it just makes me wonder if the war against heaven was possibly planned?? 🤔

I love Brandon Roger's but I didn't really like him as Katie Killjoy I think I liked the other VA. I just don't hear Katie, I hear Bryce Tankthrust.

I wish Vivzie designed Sir Pentious with more of a steampunk look since that's what era he's from so he's not wearing almost the same exact suit every other Overlord has.

Vox is just too obsessed with Alastor. He wants his cock soooo bad it's kinda crazy. It's the most fakest beef ever. Bad meat.

I like the new VA's they're amazing, but I do really miss the old ones. Most of them.

I think Vaggie's singing is better than Charlie's and that's fucked up because singing is like her whole thing.

Camilla killing the Angel wasn't that impactful because we don't really know who she is.

I don't really care to know how they will be trying to redeem people...idk I always thought that those parts would be boring.

So far I don't think the show was worth a 4 year wait....

It’s small, a deep violet with dark green leaves, he needs to wear gloves while handling it. The flower is called belladonna - deadly nightshade. The smile on your fellow CIA agent’s face gives away his intent. He was able to get it for you. A special project in addition to your weekend shopping. A visit would be had with one of the US diplomats that were skimming money from the embassy. That wasn’t enough to warrant their death. It was when they began dabbling in the drug trade that the department received notice to remove him from the equation to maintain the integrity of US diplomats everywhere.

Yeah exactly!! There’s so much “lore” about them, it makes me go mad. That was honestly a good inspiration for the first fic I wrote about them but overall it makes me want to hear so much more details about it.

The MC is definitely less of a "stock" character than in other games. They fully want to be a villain, they act the part, they're totally into it. Which isn't the case for even other supervillain stories, but I wanted to lean into the tropes and the over-the-top fun of it all. That probably isn't the normal personality most players go for, but I'm glad people are having fun stepping into a new role!!

That said, there will absolutely be a chance for good-leaning players to change their minds and jump ship. I have a whole arc in store for regretful villains who are considering a career change. Your character will slowly start to open up and gain a conscience the more you act "nice". I keep tabs on this with some hidden stats- spoilery stuff below the cut if you're interested ⬇️

I'll be tracking your character's "doubt", which you can raise through choices that express hesitation, regret, or mercy. The higher your doubt, the easier it will be for you to quit villainy. You'll also unlock nicer options, although you may be locked out of truly evil stuff if you've established a guilty conscience.

Alternatively, the more the MC acts outright "evil" or directly takes part in villainous things, the higher their "culpability" stat will be. If their culpability gets too high, they'll have a very hard time allying with heroes or even engaging with normal society. On the flip side, a high culpability will make unrepentant villains trust you more, and you'll unlock some really sinister and evil extra choices.

Um…hello! Your art is like a HUGE inspiration to me how you draw everyone is so unique, I love it! So I just wanted to ask what inspired you and your art to what it is today?

oh my gosh, thank you! :D :D :D I've been feeling pretty down about my art lately, so this was a super nice message to wake up to! one of the easiest traps to fall into is forgetting that other people are seeing your art without all the baggage and hangups that your brain has given it, and sometimes...they might actually like it? hmm. 🤔 (seriously though, that really is incredible to hear, thank you! 💕)

inspiration is really really hard to put into words. so I apologize if none of this makes sense! :') a lot of it comes from looking at things I like, trying to break down what it is that I like about them, and smooshing all those pieces together into some kind of amalgamated homunculus. I'll see something that uses a lot of straights vs curves, go "ooh", and then just start throwing those in there until it is fully absorbed into the gelatinous mess that is Developing An Artstyle. or I'll see some pretty soft-style shading, go "ooh", and then decide I'm not meshing with it and try something else. just, like, being open and trying different things and seeing what sticks, I guess!

overall, I would say I was mostly shaped by the Western media landscape of the early 2000s, when anime was becoming more mainstream and starting to show influence on Western cartoons; I think particular works that influenced me were Sailor Moon, Utena, the works of Takahashi Rumiko, Samurai Jack, Batman Beyond, and Bone. (there's also the French movie Princes et Princesses -- which is itself a homage to The Adventures of Prince Achmed -- which...yeah, you can basically take one look at it and see the effect it had on me.) and there are probably a lot of other things that I didn't consciously realize!

on a more philosophical level, one of my teachers once said to me that "the art that you like to look at isn't necessarily the art that you should be doing". which is something I try to hold onto! I had been trying really hard at the time to be, like, a more realistic traditional-style painter, and was getting really frustrated because that kind of art isn't fun for me to do. it wasn't until I gave myself permission to actually try out different things and not lock myself into what I thought was the kind of art I should be doing, that I realized I actually just like drawing little dudes making weird faces at each other! (I definitely still have some hangups about this, but I am getting better at it! ...I hope!)

So, the gold of the Erdtree and Scadutree are connected as they're two sides of each other, for starters! Ensha's bones are strangely golden too, and they even share the same passive power of slowly healing the wearer as gold of the Erdtree with their stones of tailsmans depicting the Erdtree sap! It is now very likely to suggest that he was a warrior blessed in a similar way, but brought back since he was a king, a very important figure!

The term 'soulless' is otherwise used exclusively for the Demigods that died in the Night of the Black Knives; Godwyn and those who are now buried in Mausoleums and guarded by their headless knights! Ensha is not only called that, but also his "weapon" is a literal skeletal arm latching onto him 🤔 Him having been one of the warriors blessed upon death, but having his death somehow disturbed after Shattering works naturally! Maybe other corpses instinctively crawled towards him because the healing power still lives in him. I also like to think that this golden energy was what deceived D's radar x) Besides, Roundtable Hold welcomes not only Tarnished because Dolores, stated to once have been a part of the Roundtable Hold, wasn't one for example:

As for Dung Eater: Apparently, sun-face is connected with the Fell God!

But even back then it didn't make much sense because all Tarnished depicted in the intro were shown to be raised from their deaths by Grace (except for maybe Fia but overall it is complicated how deathbed mechanics works)! And so he already had the sun symbol before:

Besides, according to Boggart, who shared jail with him (weird flex to put a thief together with a serial killer but sure), he was already doing.. whatever he was doing. So I decided I didn't have enough braincells to understand and left it for later, and I was right I guess fhhdfsd

Apparently, Fell God has connection with the horns, so, Crucible! It is like a missing link in why two of Marika's children were born Omens and why Leonine Misbegotten, the ones with red manes, are internally known as 'children of radagon' ( x )! Also, one of the Leonine has Radagon's sword!

Omens also are haunted by Wraiths, who are both fire creatures and have horns:

^ a kind of 'fire' Omens with uncut horns can summon, fire Morgott explodes into upon stage transition, and also Dung Eater can summon wraiths too! The wraiths do respond to the bells of wraith-callers as well!

The nature of these spirits is for another tangent (and yes I do have a guess fdhfds), but yes it seems like that the "guidance" he envisioned was actually about Fell God, and not Grace! His goal is and already was to curse everyone with Omen stuff, whatever is the reason. He might have came in contact with a weird power and decide it was a good goal to pursue, much like Gowry and Shabriri (Flame of the Fell God states that Fell God still lurks even after death). Or maybe he was strangely in contact with the wraiths despite not being an Omen himself, and their own yearning for curse upon everyone descending from Marika rubbed onto him? (could also explain why he feels like he should have been born an Omen) Or maybe he himself just researched a lot, in simple terms, he is Just Like That xD In any case there is finally some extra context to it!

how do you personally envision Mario and Peach (and/or others)? Like if you could draw them, how would they look? Physique? Significant height differences? Super poofy dress for Peach? Hairy arms and body for Mario? (Already know the answer to this ;)) I know you’re a fan of chubby Peach, but what does your mind picture when writing them?? 🤔

This got long and has visual aids aplenty, so Mareach body and outfit headcanons below the cut!

First up, body headcanons! The closest I could find to how I envision Mario is this ridiculously handsome man named Louis Kwong Jr.: fat but muscular, overall stout build, and, of course, an abundance of body hair, because I’m not weird about that at all.

I had to thumb through bear porn just to find what I was looking for. Consequently, that means this dude’s dick is on the internet for all to see, so exercise caution if you look him up.

For Peach, I take inspiration from the absolutely stunning Kristine Thompson. She’s tall, she’s curvaceous, and she’s the picture of elegance and feminine confidence. I hc Peach’s chest being a little smaller, but still generally large.

Height-wise, I put them at 5’1 and 6’, which would put the top of Mario’s head right about at shoulder level with Peach; she typically wears kitten heels and he wears work boots with thick soles, so that difference doesn’t change much based on whether they’re wearing shoes or not. Size-wise, they’re both somewhere in the realm of 200+lb, though Mario is larger and heavier than Peach since he’s so much shorter, and since he’s got as much muscle as he does fat.

I couldn’t figure out how to change the colors, lest I would’ve made them red and pink. I wish there was an option to tailor the weights too, ‘cause this just looks weird 😭

As far as clothing goes, Peach is all about dresses, the longer and flowier, the better! She enjoys miniskirts and will wear pants or shorts when it’s more practical, but maxi dresses are what makes her heart sing loudest. She opts for Big and Poofy when going about her business in the castle or for formal occasions/ceremonies and looser, simpler offerings like sundresses when going casual. She’ll wear darker colors every once in a blue moon, but she loves bright, cheerful colors most of all, pink and white and orange and yellow and the likes.

That last one miiiiight be AI, but it came from a photoset that was clearly an actual human modeling the actual dress, so I’m fairly certain it’s just heavily airbrushed. If I’m in the wrong then I’ll happily find a replacement!

Hair! I’m a Curly Haired Mario truther myself. The curls I picture him with tend to fall between 3a and 3c, depending on who you ask, but this is the closest visual representation I’ve found to my vision (just in a lighter shade of brown):

Peach’s hair is very long, very thick, and slightly wavy (somewhere between 1c and 2a). She enjoys brushing and pampering it with products, but the only way she gets it to stay in place is via her magic (which also keeps her makeup perfect, no matter how many wringers she’s put through on any given day). It puffs up considerably when it’s humid.

I was gonna include more character appearance headcanons as a bonus, but Tumblr keeps screaming at me for adding so many images to a single post, so if there’s any more y’all are curious about, ask away and I’ll give them their own posts!

Sorry should have clarified, i was questioning the merit of using BMI as a measure, and what the intent is with using that specifically, considering it's a very flawed (and, in my opinion, bad) system, especially with how the series overall seems to generally be good about not falling into overly simplistic and harmful assumptions about weight and health (with it only really coming up in terms of characters like chilchuck being underweight)

Ah its okay! I just feel the need to put a disclaimer because of last time LOL I do also wonder what was the merit of it, I think its really a "how much energy" since it only comes up on the resurrection thing besides the profiles? Its quite the weird measurement to put instead of weight, why put it at all 🤔

Maybe she wanted to give an idea of their body mass but since they all have different heights weight didn't work for her?

I actually have considered them a fair bit if we're being honest. Maybe not so much as some other rarepairs, especially because arankita is like.... top tier for me, buuuuuutttt...

I can defintely see where you're coming from with kitadai. First of all I can imagine them meeting at nationals before/after their game in the hallway, and having such a long, genuine conversation about sports, their hyper talented under classmen, life, everything. I feel like they'd get along right from the beginning.

I also think Daichi would find Kita SO PRETTY. Like painfully so. And Kita isn't the most nice person, he's definitely capable of smacking some people over the head when needed, so I imagine he's constantly having to whack Daichi and be like "darlin' if you stare at me any harder you're gonna cut a hole through me" and Daichi is embarassed but cant really defend himself

I also think Daichi could be very happy moving to Hyogo in the future to work on the farm with him. In the way that Kita gets his calm happy-ever-after I think Daichi would also really like staring wistfully out over rice fields. And Kita is hella impressed with not only his work ethic, but how quickly he learns new skills (or how he doesnt give up learning new skills)

They trade off who makes dinner in the evenings and then settle together to drink tea and eat dessert and Kita was not a big sweets person but Daichi is ravenous all the time and has brought home enough by now that Kita is a certified convert to all things sweet.

Their home life is so calm and well put together but they always make sure to throw watch parties for MSBY or Adlers games, duel-wielding the proud ex-captain "those are MY boys out there!!!"

I dont think these two are chemically capable of fighting. Absolutely they'd have flown to Paris to see the olympics together. Osamu came with them and it was weird on the plane.

[Arankitadaisuga is also one I havent thought much of! But I feel like its just this times 1000. Suga brings the most hetic energy of the bunch but with so many level heads used to dealing with much worse (twins) he doesnt get much reaction out of them. Aran and Suga would, sort of, be a problem together, though. Kita and Daichi come in from working on the farm and they're just covered in glue and paint for some reason. Aran points at Suga like "NO HE STARTED IT-" and Suga gives them the sweetest angel puppy eyes like "we were just gonna DIY a gift for you 🥺" and the puppy eyes melt Daichi immediately but Kita has no mercy and just shakes his head and steps over them to put his stuff away. For some reason Daichi ends up cleaning the mess up.]

Just read your Eddie leaving spec and it completely echoes the thoughts i’ve been having. There’s a million ways they could’ve had that storyline go over the course of 8A and they didn’t bother - leading to this, which in turn has shifted the story from Eddie missing his son, and being desperate to reconnect to Eddie moving to Texas. They’re two different storylines for the show and i’m not sure how it’ll end with Eddie staying in LA and Chris coming home.. 🤔 Especially when they’ve hammered home how settled Chris seems away from LA

Yeah, to be honest, that's another reason why I believe this, it's just my post was getting too long lmao. They've made a point of showing how settled Chris is in El Paso - the lack of foreshadowing of him wanting to go back to LA is very telling. Not even a comment, not even asking how everyone is doing back in LA. Nothing. Chris seems to be thriving in El Paso and doesn't seem to have any intention of going back.

And it's been, what? Four months, ish? Five? Since he went to Texas. And he still doesn't want to go back home, and Eddie is still not making any active efforts to bring him back home, which is just weird. It does feel like the SL could've gone one way, then perhaps RG shared his news, and the SL and overall direction of the season got shifted a bit.

I don't know. Overall, Season 8 has been a very, very big disappointment, and I don't have high hopes for 8b either. We'll see what they do.

Listened to the first episode of Hymns for the Road (because I fucking love FUA and everything the strange cryptic reflective sunglasses wearing creator has created so far??? Of course I’m gonna listen to this shit)

I HAVE THEORIES LETS GO (spoilers obviously)

Ok so not a lot of theories but I’ve been thinking about this/talking about it with my friend who is also listening to HftR along with me.

First of all, I’m trying to figure out the group dynamic of the survivors. It’s hard to tell with only one episode, but I think Copper is the youngest/probably newer to their group. They don’t seem to know as much about the rules, and don’t remember as much of the old world as the rest of the group. Though they seem very handy with magic which was super interesting?? So excited to find out more.

Silver seems to share the braincell with Glass, love them already. Glass seems extremely competent and also seems to remember a lot of their old life?? Going by the “heartbreaks” they traded for supplies. Very interesting 🤔

Amber seems very chaotic and that is so valid. Though they also seem to know a lot about the creatures? fae? Fair folk? Cannot wait to see more of their shenanigans

ALSO THE NAMES. It cannot be a coincidence that they’re all named after materials. Me and my friend @spiraleel-blog were thinking that they’re probably using aliases to keep their real names from being taken by Something. They might have even gone through multiple sets with different themes?? Or they could just have really cool, strangely matching names 🙂🙂🙂🙂who knows🙂🙂🙂

Overall an amazing first episode. Got me hooked and curious to know more less than halfway through. Gonna be weird hearing the voice in know and love as Agent Nari Love be a completely different character, but I can get used to it. Gotta get a good image of these characters in my mind, though it’ll probably take a few more episodes.

Oh overall it isn’t dumb, I have had very helpful therapists and therapy sessions. But many therapists suck at it and cbt is currently the thing to do but makes some people worse (including me sometimes!) my personal beef with therapy is that it ignores the fact that we live in a society lol particularly when I have expressed my feelings and anger and distrust irt men and the patriarchy. My feelings have been invalidated and even SHAMED by therapists or by ppl in group therapy which the person in charge failed to stop. My lack of desire for male friendships is seen as disordered by a weird amount of therapists. It’s very difficult to talk about the exhaustion of living with misogyny in therapy bc so many will just jump into man defending etc etc.

I don't think the show is gonna retcon anything either. I know these stories and know what's coming. I just think the pacing and the promo is bad, but that's not Jacob's fault and I'm def not trying to ever say that. I haven't checked shit in a min but I don't doubt some users are fanning flames about shit to keep things racist while trying to seem "concerned" for Jacob. I've seen some mention of DM stuff from Assad in the tags but it's always gonna be about ignoring everyone but white actors / characters the most overall.
