Lets add MORE angst to pregnant Qijiu(let's say they're both pregnant)

Due to SQQs whole entire life, he's constantly stressed, he rarely gets a moment of peace. And according to Mu Qingfangs check ups, his pregnancy is considered a high risk one and the baby might not survive childbirth. But when he found this out it was too late to have an abortion so he had to carry it to term.

While he was pregnant he also wondered if there were any chronic family illnesses that skipped him but his baby might inherit.

Eventually he had to go into seclusion so no outer stressor affected his pregnany.

Luckily when he gave birth Shen yuan survived, unfortunately he was quite ill because again, the stressful pregnancy.

YQY pregnancy was also stressful but probably not as much due his sect siblings looking up to him and respecting him alot, therefore they offered help whenever they could. NYY was born a healthy baby girl.

SQQ lowkey felt a bit mad cs did YQY just one-up him by having a less stressful pregnancy and also a healthy child???

Oh I love this, Shen Jiu struggling from the very beginning and having to double down his efforts to have this pregnancy to term successfully. Oh I can imagine how hard he must be on himself because how can his body be so weak he worked so hard to get this far and something like this shouldn't be so hard on him (Shen Jiu pregnancy is VERY HARD!!) But he's thinking that at the very least he has to try so he can have a healthy baby at the end and ohhh i can imagine the incredible self loathing he would be experiencing when he's in bed hearing Mu Qingfang saying how ill Shen Yuan is and of course he'll do everything he can but its a long road.

Shen Jiu thinking how unfortunate for himself to be so unwell that he had to effect his own child he's livid (at himself). The absolute anger he'd get at Yue Qingyuan too for having it be so effortless, his whole pregnancy going smoothly while the entire sect siblings doting and helping him.

I WOULD LIKE TO ADD ALSO!!! Yue Qingyuan not having as easy of a birth as he's leading on, i would like to think that his own problems that stemmed from Xuan Su so maybe yes his birth was easier compared to Shen Jiu but the toll it took AFTER has him bed ridden and weaker but refusing to make a big deal out of it especially when Mu Qingfang is busy with Shen Jiu and his baby.

In relation to the 'SY wifebeams the System' concept, i imagine if the system was trying to manipulate SY more it would fully just take advantage of how he processes his world like it's still a book. Luo Binghe is the protagonist, it argues, his life by nature has conflict and stress as well as wins. In the same way that Binghe has to win because he's the protagonist, he has to struggle because he's the protagonist. And so, pushing him into the Abyss is vital because if he doesn't undergo that conflict, the world will just make him undergo a different equivalent conflict, and the devil you know is much better then the devil you don't. This system will deal with it, too, so SQQ doesn't need to worry about losing limbs or anything! Isn't that nice?

(I like to imagine that for all LBH is def SQH's brain baby, the System itself has a lot of similarities personality wise with him because it was generated off of PIDW data, and i think the yandere tendencies are one of those similarities)

SVSSS fic where Shang Qinghua transmigrates into Luo Binghe, and suffers through all the things he put his precious protagonist through since infancy. After his (Luo Binghe's) adoptive mother's death, the system forces him to go to Cang Qiong AND get into Qing Jing Peak so he's scared out of his mind but also determined to somehow, somehow escape the abuse. He's going to be the best disciple! If you tell him to chop wood he'll only ask how much! He'll clean and cook and won't make a peep! He'll even thank his shizun and bullies for the beatings! He entertains himself in his journey to the mountain with such fantasies, and then he meets Shen Qingqiu and he's a literal. angel. Sure, he's probably making all kinds of condescending faces behind his fan when Shang Qinghua is being particularly obtuse, but he praises Shang Qinghua, pats Shang Qinghua's head, protects him when he can! System, what is going on? Is Shang Qinghua's charm just so irresistible that he managed to melt the villain's frosty heart so easily?

Years pass, and Shang Qinghua is really living the life! He quickly becomes a head disciple and moves into his shizun's residence. Everything is going very nicely, until he wakes up one morning feeling the most terrible growing pains and overall shitty in his body (since when did the protagonist have pimples??) and curses out loud, "Fuck my life, who the fuck wants to go through puberty a second time, ah?!" and behind him, a book clatters to the ground. He meets his shizun's wide, wide eyes.

Look, SY wife-beaming everyone is amazing and all but how about him just Mom-beaming everyone. I don't mean both, I mean just becoming a mother figure to random people/people he barely knows, no romantic feelings (at least in most cases).

He probably feels like it isn't much but I can definitely see him comforting his fellow sect members/peak lords and it actually sticks with them. I especially imagine it for (platonic) cumplane, EX:

imagine if the shen family was actually a part of the mafia. and shen yuan just never knew.

like his Family is rich and they are all super close. he’s even in contact with some of his distant relatives pretty often, which is kinda cool for him, he’s sure that this isn’t the case for most families so he considers himself lucky to know the extent of his family tree. sure, some of them seem to have lost a marble or two but what family doesn’t have a couple oddballs in their midst, you know?

and its not just sy’s comical obliviousness that contributes to this. his family is well aware that sy is not suited for this life style- especially his siblings. they grew up watching him get himself into all sorts of weird situations and putting himself at a disadvantage simply because he’s too nice. he can try and deny it all he wants (just like how he denies he’s gay- c’mon sy everyone can tell you are not straight) but his sense of justice would only burden him if he were to work for the Family. not to mention his sense of self preservation is absolute shit and they don’t want to have to babysit him his whole life- and he probably doesn’t want that either!

so they send him off to college, help him find an apartment, and basically do everything they can to help him start off on his own, away from the Family. his siblings had to do a whole lot of convincing to let this happen btw- this kind of thing usually isn’t allowed, but sy doesn’t know anything that could be used against the Family, so they make an exception in his case. better for them to not have a deadweight sticking around either is what they say but they all dote on him anyways and refuse to admit they care about him. sy definitely picked up this line of reasoning from them btw.

shen yuan is a little upset and confused that his Family seems eager to send him off (it’s not like they can’t afford for him to live with them after all- both of his older brothers still live in the Family’s massive house and even his aunts and uncles are living there??). he manages to recover quickly though. at least now he can read his web novels in piece without prompting any dick jokes (his cousins had a field day when they found his account with all of his pidw comments…). now he just needs to figure out how to live by himself.

it’s not that sy is incapable of taking care of himself- it’s just that he’s so used to having other people with him that he never understood how much they were doing for him until they were no longer around. but that’s fine, living on your own is just another learning curve and sy is willing to rise up to the challenge. which he did, by the way! he found a job and pays his taxes and even though that isn’t much he still gives himself a mental pat on the back for it. he is still in contact with his siblings, he never misses an update for pidw which he totally doesn’t get excited for and his life is going great.

……until he accidentally eats some expired food and dies.

Luo Binghe canonically has curly hair (edit: I think?? Someone said it doesn’t say that in text but I coulda sworn I read about him having silky curls at some point?) and is androgynously beautiful/handsome.

These facts about him are very important to me personally.

Straight-haired and masculine LBHs fan arts are also beautiful, but… they’re just missing that special somethin’ that makes him Binghe (love n respect to all fan arts, this is just my opinion)

What’s your go to Luo Binghe character design? Curly hair, brown eyes, tall, horns, straight hair, red eyes, claws? I’m curious, just *how* demon is he?

generally i picture him like the english/russian edition designs (aka, the fanon binghe with curly/fluffy hair) but the other details i pick and choose depending on setting or AU, tbh.

i like the idea that his eyes are a warm brown that glints red in different lighting or when he's worked up or using his demon powers, and i'm a BIG fan of giving him large, curling ram's horns along with pointed ears and little fangs and claws - but they aren't details that i default to imagining him with.

mostly because i think that if binghe did possess more physically demonic features, it would be a whole Thing he'd have to work through (i.e. "my REAL appearance is so clearly demonic, maybe it would remind shizun why he threw me away, etc etc"). after all, his own plan to be re-accepted by sqq was to blend in to huan hua and "prove" that he was a righteous cultivator that could live among humans - so naturally more visible demonic features would be something that he'd also want to repress, perhaps even in extreme ways if illusions couldn't cover it.

that isn't something that i always want to make space for in my own AUs, though, so i tend to only indulge in more demonic looking bingys when either a) i know i'll already be in the same wheelhouse as binghe's insecurities around his heritage or b) it's an AU that's so divorced from canon that the insecurities may not exist at all.

i will admit to having a history of commissioning art that specifically calls out more demonic features, though - especially some big curving ram's horns 😌

I was talking with @/artsarasp about it a couple days ago but I just keep thinking about how Yue Qingyuan finding out that he's pregnant after either having a one time heat of the moment fling with Shen Jiu (he can never think fo Shen Jiu as a fling, it was everything to him) OR he's pregnant from some plant that involved both of there DNA. I like the idea they had a heated moment because already with that Yue Qingyuan would be riddled with guilt about how much he misses Shen Jiu, How he's always wanted to be close to him like that and how he can't ever get that again and how he failed him so he should've never been able to have something like that even for a moment how dare he, How dare he even think of wanting an OUNCE of anything from Shen Jiu after leaving him

And then he's pregnant. He's witn Mu Qingfang. He promises not to say anything to anyone especially because it can put the Sect Master at risk. Especially when he can see how Yue Qingyuan goes white as a sheet after telling him the news.

Yue Qingyuan would be silent. Thinking. He can't tell him. He's already taken so much from him, he's already abandoned him, he's already hurt him so much what would he think of this? He'd never speak to him again, he can handle yelling, the comments, the glare but if he was to never see Shen Jiu again he'd be nothing. He doesn't want to get rid of it the fact he has something of his and his Qi-Ge he selfishly wants this baby as proof that they were something once, for a time. For a moment. It's not the right reasons to have a child by far and he knows it but he refuses to do anything to stop it.

Mu Qingfang would tell him what he needs and what to do and how they'd try to keep it a secret from everyone but Yue Qingyuan is half listening he has to think of how to hide this from everyone for life.

I keep also thinking about after he has the baby. Successfully without Shen Jiu knowing, except his baby has those eyes, those beautifully sharp eyes that he's used to looking at him with contempt. But on his baby they're wide with curiosity and grabbing at him with such a tenderness its making him want to scream.

Ah but I'm a softie and I physically cannot let a bad ending happen so I feel like of course Shen Jiu would find out. I'm not sure how but he does and it's more gut wrenching than Yue Qingyuan can imagine because he think he hid his own son away from him because he doesn't trust him or that he hates him so much he can't even allow a vulnerability like this. I'm sorry i don't know how but AFTER HARDSHIP AND PAIN AND TIME THEY ARE A HAPPY FAMILY YAY!!!!!

A mxtx crossover event where all the red-black characters had to fight, I believe, would result in a very interesting rock paper scissors scenario.

Wei Wuxian, being the Ghost Whisperer, could probably beat, or at the very least subdue Hua Cheng. We know Hua Cheng is weak to Ghost Stuff a la the Mount Tonglu opening incident, and Wei Wuxian has dealt with extremely powerful spirits in the past.

That being said, I think Hua Cheng could take Luo Binghe in a fight. This guy bested 33 heavenly officials, his swordplay is unmatched, and Luo Binghe is very powerful but I imagine that power comes with the side effect of very little finesse. Additionally his protagonist halo probably wouldn’t save him here since he’s not the only protagonist.

However, Luo Binghe would totally destroy Wei Wuxian. With his itty bitty Mo Xuanyu core he doesn’t stand a chance. Tearing through an army of the undead is the exact sort of op bullshit Binghe excels at, so that option is out too.

That being said, if their love interests are also fighting, Xie Lian bodies those fools. I’m sorry but even though Lan Wanji is excellent and SQQ is a peak lord, they do not stand a chance. Xie Lian’s favorite trick for 800 years was to break boulders on his chest while he had no access to any spiritual energy. Dude folded the heavenly emperor like a lawn chair. No contest.

Imagine Shen Yuan's original world, everything is normal except people can just shape shift into 1 animal form. And pidw doesn't have that.

(Airplane was constantly made to stay in animal form by his parents so they didn't have to deal with him)

So SY as SQQ is DESPERATE to have cat time. I've the ooc lock is gone, all bets are off He finds himself climbing trees and furniture. If he walks into a Sunbeam he'll just stop mid sentence and stand there baking until something snaps him out of it

And he is always desperately searching for some plot device that will let him be a cat again. Unfortunately, since airplane hated being an animal so much, there are only 2 in the whole world bc he was paid a LOT of money for that specific kink and hated it the whole time.

The other peak lords really think SQQ has lost it and that this is either grief bc of without a cure or a direct side effect of it.

LBH loves Catzun and completely and shamelessly indulges SQQ when he flips over to cat brain. (He hides bird feeders near the bamboo house, he grows small patches of cat nip and mixes it into sqq 's regular incense)

SQH witnesses SQQ notice a bird and all but kkkkkkkk at it and goes "wtf" and they have their transmigrator reveal early.

LBH is jealous both because SQH speaks the same dialect as Shizun, but is also nonplussed by cat mode, which seems to deter even the likes of LQG.

Clearly he has to find some means to let Shizun be a cat in order to win his heart.

Thinking about how lucky it is that Shen Qingqiu (SY version) never gave Luo Binghe the wrong impression that he wanted a harem.

Like imagine they've having a conversation and Shen Qingqiu makes some offhanded comment about a harem is all well and good, but he thinks it should definitely be of a manageable size, hint hint, with individuals who get along harmoniously and support their primary spouse, hint hint, and marrying almost everyone you hook up with is just bad form because it's inevitably going to cause friction and it'd be nearly impossible to properly look after that many extra spouses, hint hint.

Luo Binghe picks up on the hints but draws the entirely incorrect conclusions. Combined with his previous inquiries into what kinds of women his shizun likes (SQQ, not wanting to ever be seen as LBH's potential romantic rival and eager to free himself of the original's lecherous reputation: I have no interest in any women whatsoever!) and some subtle inquiries about when a person should settle down (SQQ, with unexamined anxiety at the prospect of his dear disciple heading out into the world: not too soon! a man should establish himself well and figure out what he likes first, and take his time!), Luo Binghe concludes that his master has been biding his time and is building up to constructing a reasonably-sized harem of malewives.

Because apparently, Shizun believes that a man in a position of significant power should inevitably want such things. And disciple Binghe isn't thinking of "a position of significant power" as "effective god-emperor of the whole world", his current ideas of such things are more along the lines of "peak lord" really. Also why should Shen Qingqiu make so many comments about how Luo Binghe must surely be anxious to start taking lovers or daydreaming about having a billion wives unless he just thinks that's the standard for everyone? Because that's what he wants?

It was chaotic enough when just one of these guys was bracing himself for the inevitable harem-building, but if Binghe also expected he was going to have to supply Shen Qingqiu with a stable of other men, hoo boy. Binghe telling himself that he's fine with it. As long as he's first wife, Shizun can have others. Getting particularly vicious towards new guys Shen Qingqiu meets, like okay he's resigned himself to Liu Qingge, and probably maybe also Yue Qingyuan, and in those cases definitely having to fight them tooth and nail for primary spouse position (his plan is to become the undisputed master of the domestic sphere and thereby outrank them on that front, even if he can't beat their peak lord credentials), but anyone else is someone he can potentially chase off and Shizun will still have his reasonably-sized harem. If Gongyi Xiao wants into the harem he's going to have to earn it, and he's getting bottom of the pecking order!

Binghe, after they finally get together, trying to have frank discussions about the inevitable harem. Shen Qingqiu putting on a brave face because he, of course, thinks Binghe's talking about his own harem. Getting confused as to why Liu Qingge is suddenly factoring into the conversation. Then reaching entirely the wrong conclusion because oh right, Binghe is gay now and Liu Qingge is extremely pretty. Makes sense! Definitely not what Binghe means but it makes sense!

Actually this would be a hilarious way for bingliushen OT3 to happen. Just a complete comedy of errors where bingqiu are both trying to secure Liu Qingge for each other without ever concretely establishing that either of them wants him, even though they think they have.
