ok so mikey's always the comic relief character and generally doesn't get much focus but if a tmnt iteration were to really go into his character i think i would explode. i think his most important trait is actually just how fucking nice he is to everyone no matter what (except last ronin but he gets a pass he is going through it).
he's kinda like papyrus in that regard where you just don't get to tell him who he can't like or trust. he's the turtle-shaped physical manifestation of the indomitable human spirit or something. it's been a bit since i last read idw but mikey in that is just, so goddamn empathetic and loving. he finds the joy in everything just fucking.
ARGH??? this is about fried green beans for fuck's sake!!! it's literally a joke line and yet it like. perfectly summarizes mikey's core being. or how in rise, mikey literally drags draxum into a redemption arc. 12 mikey's friendship with leatherhead means everything. and 03 mikey in the christmas episode where he adopts klunk and how he just befriends half the supporting cast on the spot.
i got nothing on the other mikey's cuz i haven't seen 87 or read mirage yet but i'm sure they will make me explode also.
#fried!!! green!!!! beans!!!!#i'm screaming about green beans at 2 am#mlabs stop having the urge to write essays at ass o'clock hours in the morning challenge: difficulty impossible#tmnt#unironically tho any media with an unabashedly empathetic character will kill me#i fucking love it when anything is about kindness#or explorations of the human spirit

These aren’t humans. Because he’s right, they aren’t.
They may have used to be humans, may have once been just regular people, but they can no longer fit that mold.
They’re no longer considered human, they’ve gone far beyond what a normal human can do.
Normal humans don’t pin themselves to a pillar so they can keep fighting for as long as possible, normal humans don’t cast aside everything just to be a weapon fighting to save people that they will never really know.
Archer is a sword, Cu is a beast, but neither can really be considered human anymore, that word just can’t be applied to them in ways it can be applied to others.

Debating to use the redesign project to rework wind waker like alot
Been watching a shitton of videos about how much content was potentially cut from the final game and thinking about exactly how i would tackle adding some of it back in
#things like those 2 cut dungeons#potentially the third cut sage and what exactly that would look like#considering alot of theories put it as either a ghostly goron ancestor and an evolved version of the gorons in current day#or as some human or shiekah ghost and aryll as the current day sage#the idea of an explorable hyrule field under the water#that you were supposed to enter through the later dungeon entrances#i already have some insane ideas for what im going to do with windwaker so its not that out of left field#hint: nuclear waste warning message#i might make that another branch off series if i do commit to it#like the half idea to make a sword spirit style character for all the important weapons in the series#i mean i have been kind of doing that with hyrule warriors right now#there is so much fun stuff in the concept art of that game#legend of zelda#loz#wind waker#legend of zelly au#jellyfish's thoughts

Unearthing Wonders: A Journey into the Depths of Jules Verne's "A Journey to the Centre of the Earth"
Jules Verne's "A Journey to the Centre of the Earth" is an extraordinary odyssey that transcends the limits of imagination and plunges readers into the heart of an enigmatic subterranean world. Originally published in 1864, this timeless classic continues to captivate audiences with its gripping narrative, scientific curiosity, and the boundless spirit of adventure that permeates every page.
The story begins in Hamburg, Germany, where Professor Otto Lidenbrock discovers an ancient Icelandic manuscript that hints at a passage to the center of the Earth. Fueled by an insatiable thirst for knowledge and adventure, the professor, along with his reluctant nephew Axel and their guide Hans Belker, embarks on a perilous journey beneath the Earth's surface.
Verne's narrative unfolds as a first-person account penned by Axel, offering readers a front-row seat to the awe-inspiring discoveries and challenges encountered during their subterranean expedition. The trio navigates through labyrinthine caves, encounters prehistoric creatures, and witnesses geological marvels, each episode building a sense of wonder and excitement.
One of the novella's strengths lies in Verne's ability to blend scientific knowledge with the art of storytelling. The meticulous attention to geological and physical details reflects Verne's fascination with science and exploration. The vivid descriptions of the underground landscapes, illuminated by the trio's improvised lighting, create a palpable sense of the unknown and evoke a spirit of scientific discovery.
Verne's characters are both endearing and emblematic of the scientific curiosity prevalent in the 19th century. Professor Lidenbrock embodies the relentless pursuit of knowledge, Axel represents the inquisitive but apprehensive observer, and Hans exemplifies the silent determination of the guide. Together, they form a trio that captures the essence of exploration and scientific inquiry.
The novella's enduring appeal lies in its timeless themes—curiosity, exploration, and the indomitable human spirit. Verne invites readers to reflect on the nature of discovery and the insatiable desire to unravel the mysteries of the world. As the characters delve deeper into the Earth, the narrative becomes a metaphorical journey into the uncharted realms of human potential and the boundless possibilities of scientific exploration.
In addition to its narrative prowess, "A Journey to the Centre of the Earth" serves as a precursor to the science fiction genre, influencing generations of writers and filmmakers. Verne's imaginative storytelling laid the groundwork for tales of subterranean adventures and became a benchmark for science fiction's capacity to transport readers to unexplored realms.
In conclusion, Jules Verne's "A Journey to the Centre of the Earth" stands as a testament to the enduring power of storytelling and the insatiable curiosity that drives human exploration. The novella's blend of scientific precision, vibrant characters, and enthralling adventures continues to inspire readers to embark on their own journeys of discovery, inviting them to unearth the wonders hidden beneath the surface of the known world.

If only a certain popular rpg had more to its elves other than "hot ppl pointy ears." I miss elf lore.
#like ast*rion could have been any race he's just an elf for the visual aesthetic#rogue trader on other hand really digs into the eldar lore and explores two vastly different cultures through its eldar romance options#which i love#i just wish gw wasn't so anti giving aeldari nice things because imagine being able to actually play a crpg as an eldar#seems like it will never happen :(#anyway i do wish the game i will not name cared more about the races that aren't super exotic#like lae and min get lots of cultural flavor but elves and half elves are just basically longer lived humans now#what about the tragedy of an elf severed from the elven spirit by undeath?#what about an elf romancing SH being reluctant or sad because they might end up in different afterlives?#and so forth

yanno what, ill bite. tell me more about ninjastuck
Eli if this is you enabling me--
anyway 💅 thinking about Soulsong and Lilly... yeah Soulsong's an Alternia-raised troll who was conscripted as a subjugglator but like. It's Lou guys. Even as a troll he's more of an artist than a fighter. Still working out whether the trolls came to Ninjago as an invasion the First Master stopped or if it was a migratory movement done by a group looking to break away from the empire, because both could be very interesting for Soulsong. Either he's one of the warriors who's not really into it and befriends the then master of earth OR he's one of the sympathetic helping to organize the migration. Regardless, Soulsong has seen Alternia, but has lived in Ninjago for longer.
And Lilly's father fought on the side of the Serpentine, of course Lilly's gonna be sympathetic to the trolls! And Soulsong knew he'd outlive her, but--she's an elemental master, so their time together would be much longer than the average ninjagoan. Soulsong was happy to risk that future heartbreak, because he loved Lilly enough to be worth it--
Which only makes it hurt that much more when it was all cut short by illness.
#ask zaz#ninjago#i don't quite think lilly and soulsong slot into one specific quadrant???#like. okay so to me soulsong is pretty traditional by troll standards when it comes to clurch and romance#(though he's certainly pretty radical when it comes to violence and he's kind of disconnected from the hemospectrum)#so him and lilly having a more human style love and thus him going against tradition just. feels sweeter to me?#like obviously human love isn't the end-all be-all and the quadrants can be just as fun to explore imo#but i do think lilly and soulsong would have had a very strong bond for sure#also. the fact that lilly and soulsong's love is what's responsible for colton#bc there's no drones on ninjago there's no fuck or die shit going on. soulsong's not getting it on unless he wants to#and with lilly he wants to so get it on he does. and then he offers the genmat to the caves bc why not?#and then a grub with the exact same blood and horns is spawned and makes it through the trials and soon enough a wild little wriggler#riding a big bear lusus tracks down soulsong to see if his ancestor's any cool or not#and lilly and colton got along well i think. he may not be related to her but he's her son in spirit#ninjastuck

Me sending out vibes into the universe that now that The Terror is on Netflix, the algorithm will tell people to also watch Society of the Snow.
Especially when the photo used for the Netflix listing looks like something out of 1993's "Alive" which is fucking hilarious to me.
#then again perhaps watching a bunch of victorian british explorers be absolutely destroyed by their own hubris#IS an uplifting story about the indominable human spirit#where the human spirit is to say “FUCK THE BRITISH”

The Philosophy of Adventurism
Adventurism, often associated with a spirit of exploration and a desire for new and thrilling experiences, carries a rich and diverse philosophical background. The philosophy of adventurism delves into the motivations, ethical implications, and existential meanings behind the pursuit of adventure. Here’s an exploration of the core aspects of the philosophy of adventurism:
1. Pursuit of Novelty and Exploration
Adventurism is fundamentally about seeking new experiences and exploring the unknown.
Curiosity: A central tenet of adventurism is a deep curiosity about the world, driving individuals to discover and experience what lies beyond the familiar.
Exploration: This often involves venturing into uncharted territories, whether in nature, in cultural contexts, or in personal endeavors.
2. Risk and Courage
Taking risks and showing courage are integral to adventurism.
Risk-Taking: Adventurers often embrace uncertainty and potential dangers, seeing them as essential components of meaningful experiences.
Courage: The willingness to face fear and adversity is celebrated as a virtue, highlighting the importance of bravery in the pursuit of adventure.
3. Personal Growth and Self-Discovery
Adventurism is seen as a pathway to personal development and self-discovery.
Self-Discovery: Through adventurous experiences, individuals gain deeper insights into their own capabilities, desires, and identities.
Personal Growth: The challenges and novel situations encountered during adventures foster resilience, adaptability, and a broader perspective on life.
4. Freedom and Autonomy
The philosophy of adventurism emphasizes the value of freedom and autonomy.
Autonomy: Adventurism often involves making independent choices and following one's own path, free from societal constraints.
Freedom: The spirit of adventure is closely tied to the idea of liberation from routine and conventionality, seeking freedom in its purest form.
5. Connection with Nature
Many forms of adventurism involve a deep connection with the natural world.
Nature Appreciation: Adventures in the wilderness foster a profound appreciation for the beauty and complexity of nature.
Environmental Ethics: The experiences gained through outdoor adventures often lead to a greater sense of environmental stewardship and respect for natural ecosystems.
6. Existential Meaning and Fulfillment
Adventurism can be a search for existential meaning and fulfillment.
Existential Quest: The pursuit of adventure can be seen as a way to confront the fundamental questions of existence, seeking purpose and significance in life's journey.
Fulfillment: The experiences and achievements gained through adventurism often bring a deep sense of fulfillment and satisfaction.
The philosophy of adventurism celebrates the human spirit's desire for exploration, risk-taking, personal growth, freedom, and connection with nature. It encourages individuals to step out of their comfort zones, embrace uncertainty, and seek out new experiences that enrich their understanding of themselves and the world around them. By embracing the principles of adventurism, one can lead a more dynamic, meaningful, and fulfilling life.

"frankly Opportunity's camera mast looks like a little face with eyes" it's supposed to!!! Not a face exactly, but engineers intentionally designed the cameras mounted on the mast to take pictures with the resolution of human 20/20 vision, and to be about the same height as a human's eyes. If you've ever seen the prototype rover in person (it's currently in the Smithsonian), you can look it right in the "eyes." They wanted to be able to look at Mars from a human perspective—so they made Spirit and Opportunity more human-like to do so.
Also, speaking of Spirit: NASA lost initial contact with Spirit in July 2010 and said goodbye in May 2011. Oppy kept going, though, and in August 2011, she reached Endeavour Crater, a destination no one had imagined for her. Endeavour had already been named by the time Oppy got there, but she sent back pictures of the rim, her discovery.
This is Spirit Point, Endeavour Crater, Mars. Because what better way for Opportunity to commemorate her sister than to go where nobody had imagined they could?
this morning NASA abandoned their mars rover Opportunity (aka Oppy) because it (she) got hit by a storm on Mars and it knocked her camera and wheels out and her last words to the team were “my battery is low and it is getting cold”. I know she’s a machine but I’m devastated. Oppy is the one who discovered water on Mars. RIP oppy ily space baby

Yandere!Vampire that was once royalty, living in a dilapidated castle, alone and depressed. As a human, he was surrounded by people. Everyone adored him, his golden curls and warm brown eyes charming the hearts of every noble that set eyes on him.
That was until his family was slaughtered by a coven of vampires, leaving him the only survivor. Now with no family, he was turned away from the nobles that once gathered at his side, calling him beautiful and intelligent. Now he was a beast, and was only left alive because no one dared to touch him.
As the years passed by, all that knew of his existence died out, meaning no one remembered or cared for him. In the past, he had at least been grateful he had been in someone’s thoughts, even if it was in a negative light. Now, no one even hated him. He was just nonexistent to the world outside his castle.
Centuries passed by, every day slowly picking at the last bits of his sanity. Days of past grandeur and the current day mixed together, leaving him in a state where he couldn’t tell whether he was back in the living arms of his family, or wandering the dark, crumbling hallways of his childhood home.
It was only when a soft, warm light flooded one of the abandoned rooms he had been standing in that the fog in his brain began to fade, allowing him to see what was in front of him for the first time in decades.
It was you, a young woman in a hoodie and jeans, holding a flashlight. You lived only a mile away, and had been exploring when you came upon ruins of what seemed like an ancient castle.
You had heard rumors of a person that wandered the ruins from the townsfolk, and old tales of vampires that had been passed down by tongue for centuries. Not believing them, you decided to see for yourself…
Your light shone upon what you first thought was an ethereal ghost or some kind of beautiful spirit. A man with a mop of blonde curls, porcelain skin, and the most beautiful pair of ruby red eyes you’ve ever seen stared back at you.
The person attempted to speak, but clutched his throat, as if he hadn’t spoken in so long, his vocal cords had forgotten how.
“H-hello?”
The man perked up at the sound of your voice, his eyes clearing up. It seemed just hearing another human speak made his undead heart leap, and he couldn’t help but stumble towards you.
You yelped when he crossed the room within seconds and pulled you into his arms, burying his face in your neck and inhaling deeply.
The smell of another person, of sweat and perfume mixing together to make your own unique scent made him want to sob.
Of course you were freaked out, but the man holding onto you wasn’t hurting you, and you could feel warm tears soaking through your shirt. How could you turn away someone that was obviously in distress?
Unsurprisingly, the man followed you home. It didn’t take a genius to realize he wasn’t human. He was as pale as a sheet of paper, with no pulse or any color to his cheeks. His eyes were scarlet, a shade you had never seen a human have before.
Despite knowing this, you couldn’t help but care for him. He was thin, malnourished, with clothing that was so old and dirty that it nearly crumbled when he took them off.
“Are you hungry?”
You had taken to asking only yes or no questions, since he couldn’t speak. The man frowned, his eyes getting foggy for a second. You decided to ask again.
“Hello? Are you-“
He suddenly snapped back into reality, leaning forward to gently place his lips on your neck. You squeaked out in surprise when you felt his teeth sink into your neck… but it didn’t hurt. Instead, you only felt an uncomfortable pressure and draining sensation, and before long he was pulling back.
“Mmph…” he panted softly, blood running down his chin. “Was… so… thirsty…” he managed to say, his voice hoarse and small.
He cupped your cheek, holding your face in his hands and looking down at you with what could only be described as utter adoration.
“My love…”
From that point on, he was attached to your hip, following you everywhere you went like a lovesick puppy. Any time you were separated, he had severe anxiety, going back and forth from his dreamworld and reality. It was his coping mechanism, but it caused him to never understand what was real and what wasn’t.
You grounded him, made him feel safe and loved. Oh how he adored you. You had saved him from his lonely existence and taken him into your home as if he were a stray dog, and he was loyal like one. His loyalty came at a price, however, and that price was your freedom to do as you pleased.
Late nights out with friends became next to nonexistent, especially if he knew there would be any males there.
“I just want to protect you, my beloved. It’s a dangerous, cruel world. People will act as if they love you when they do not…”
And as you slowly became more and more isolated, his affections only grew. Kisses to your hand began to trail up your arm and to your neck. Snuggles turned into grinding and heavy petting, and even the most innocent of caresses became lewd in nature.
It didn’t take long for him to fuck you for the first time. After all, he had been pent up and alone for centuries, resisting taking you on the spot was excruciating.
The second he sunk into your pussy, he came. You were just so warm and your scent made his head fuzzy. He couldn’t help but fuck into you like a wild animal, feeding from your pretty neck as he filled you up over and over.
After the first time, a day didn’t pass by when he didn’t crave your intimate touch. Some days he was satisfied with heavy petting and kisses, others he couldn’t be satiated until his face was between your legs, lapping at your cunt for hours.
You were his, his mate, his lover. He couldn’t imagine a life without you anymore, so could you really blame him when he clung to you so tightly?
He just loved you, and he did such a good job at keeping you satisfied, just enough to where you didn’t look into the missing cases of your old lovers and male friends.
Why would you need to pay attention to any of that when your loving, attentive boyfriend was right there, ready to worship you from head to toe?

Shamanism: A Journey Through the Mind, Body, and Spirit Connection
Shamanism, a spiritual practice that spans across various cultures and epochs, serves as a profound testament to the universality of human psychobiological experiences. Through the lens of Winkelman’s (2002) research, we can understand shamanism not merely as a cultural artifact but as a manifestation of innate brain processes, representational systems, and psychophysiological dynamics inherent…
