I miss Destiny.

I miss my Guardian and Ghost OCs. I miss the gameplay. The characters. The settings.

I don't miss the inconsistency. Especially when every major update is as expensive as they are. This isn't even mentioning Bungie's absolutely abhorrent business practices.

I have never hated everything a game has grown to be as bad as I do Destiny 2, but still constantly find myself wanting to play it again.

Fanart for fanfic again, because I sometimes, just can't help myself and need to sketch that stuff because mulling it over in my head just doesn't work out well. So, here you go, I even made it a book cover. 🙈

After reading I obviously had too much time on my hands was obsessed with the idea of infrared light (it feels warm on human skin, although we cannot perceive it with our limited optical array) in an all-dark environment. Did I think for a second trying to paint it? Maybe not. Monochromatic version is my favourite, but have all the other pretty colour versions because I go nowhere without a filter on.

Poseidon's design is neal-illustrator's.

Finally able to catch up on some things.

I noticed someone asked if I could reverse the colors on the Bray Tech Exo wallpapers. It got me curious as well and they turned out pretty nice looking.

I think I cracked it— the code that will unlock the way to Eramis's affection: loyalty.

Eramis values loyalty above everything else: she is loyal to her beliefs, to the old traditions, to the imagine of Riis that lives in her memory, to the dream of the Eliksni united once more. To the promise of seeing her family again.

Eramis hates Variks for his betrayal of their friendship and their own kind. She has a way to test others and check if they're loyal to the picture they made of themselves, otherwise they're not worthy of her attention. She was loyal to the Witness because it was the only person that had reached out a hand and lifted her from her misery (it freed her from her prison, it gave her a second chance to prove herself, that must mean something!) and she only starts doubting its commands when they clash with her vision, when they put the people she swore her loyalty to— and, consequentially, her morals— in danger. She saved Eido from the Lucent Hive, then Misraaks later on because her loyalty to her project of salvation brings her to recognize when other are more fitting than her to be its makers.

Eramis doesn't trust humanity because we are hypocrites— carrying out a systematic genocide of her people for years, calling a truce only when House Light willingly crawls back under the Great Machine's shadow—, maybe because she sees the same dependance from the Traveler that she spent centuries trying to detach herself from and she is disgusted by it.

Maybe she fears the possibility of a fresh start, away from all the hate and sorrow. Maybe she fears of betraying herself if she allows the thoughts of "redemption" and "doing the right thing" getting to her because it would mean leaving behind that part of her so carefully crafted through years of resentment and despair and sheer determination to survive and take revenge on the cruel universe that abandoned her. It's too much to lose, too deeply rooted in her being to be simply put aside for the sake of everybody else.

Show Eramis that you are loyal to her. Don't try to change her, she doesn't need help. Show that you are willing to accept her as she is, that she doesn't need to betray herself, and she will love you wholeheartedly. Stab her in the back or turn your back on your own morality and you are as good as a rot that needs to be eradicated.
