might change my blog theme. I really like the faux steam workshop but it has the weird old-fashioned line thing for long posts and no easy way to like posts

#I want another theme that looks like something else #but ive never really been into frutiger aero (sorry) and im not nearly dedicated enough aesthetically for a true retro win 98 or xp #maybe something win 10 #or Wii menu #I could go with something less digital. huge fan of midcentury modern and de stijl and brutalist architecture #but I do love a good computer thing. my cyborg sympathy #do they make themes that look like the Tumblr dashboard #that would be really funny

last year i found a wii at goodwill for 25 dollars and it came with everything except a wiimote but it was in such good condition i was like hell yeah ill take it how hard can it be to find a wiimote. the answer is it's nearly impossible to find them at thrift stores now so i've spent like 8 months looking for ones in thrift stores but there wasn't a single one and then online but i just couldn't bring myself to spend 30 dollars on one single wiimote so i waited so. patiently. and then 2 weeks ago i finally found one at goodwill for 9 dollars but it was absolutely disgusting and the battery cover was missing and the compartment was all corroded so i put it back and regretted it the whole week but then this last weekend i went to savers and there was an absolutely perfect wiimote just sitting there with no corrosion and a jacket and the wrist strap and motion plus and the nunchuck was there too and i got it all for 10 dollars so the moral of the story is that sometimes things seem right for you in the moment but you have to recognize that they aren't and leave them behind so the things that are meant for you will in fact find you when the time is right. peace and love <3

#for real though im so happy i cant even lie like i regretted selling my wii soooooo much but anyway im back baby <3 #im disinfecting everything rn bc i have a germ problem but once it it's done.....i am SO back #when i first got it i didnt have the remote right so i couldnt plug it in and make sure that it worked but i did just plug it into an outle #to make sure it ran and it did and wii sports resort popped out of the drive so thats fun bc i didnt have that one #and anyway i might cry when i hear the menu sound ngl ngl.#but the city i live in is like an overgrown retirement home and so the goodwill is full of old people things and this wii had stickers #like explaining which cord was which so i just know it was a wii that they bought for like grandmas house and only played it when they were #over there so anyway cant wait to see what's on there and if the news channel and weather channel are still on the homepage even though #i dont think they work anymore lol #also shoutout to the type a kid who kept their wiimote in such perfect condition that i wanted to cry when i saw it sitting on the shelf #ty <3

the gameboy advance sp is one of the best handhelds nintendo ever made if not one of the greatest of all time from any company and this is a hill I'm willing to die on

#playstation handhelds were too ahead of their time to really be appreciated #and the ds is fine but i think the ds peaked at the ds lite though you could make an arguement for the dsi xl #but the gba sp? it held a charge for forever was very portable was comfortable to hold had basic but practical controls #you could even adjust the screen brightness while in game which you couldnt do on other subsequent systems #without turning the ds off then back on and resetting the brightness. the 3ds brought that feature back but you still have to go to the menu #and ik people will be like ohhhhh the nintendo switch is so good though!#but consider: the gba could actually play madden games and the switch can't even do that #like if the little tiny baby gameboy could manage i think its great great great great whatever grandchild should be able to as well #hell even the wii could play madden. it just had shittier graphics than say the ps2 or xbox #though tbh i think the switch sucks as a handheld. switch lite is fine if you like having to replace your entire system #when inevitably the stupid built in joycons break. but as a handheld its basically a glorified 3ds without a camera. fine whatever #but the standard v1 and v2 and OLED? babygirl those are consoles. and not even particularly good ones at that #the wii u walked so the switch could trip and fall flat on its face and hide the injuries under Breath of the Wild colored bandages #ANYWAYS sorry for the rant ive been overdosing on cough syrup by accident because i read the dose thingy wrong!!! and im very sick atm #but also very happy to be done working at gamestop FOREVER!!! also sidenote but the best console atm is probably xbox series x or ps4 #ps5 is fine and even has good console exclusives but like. its just a glorified ps4 if im being honest. xbox one is evil #because xbox one has The Power Brick of Overheating and im scared of it. also it has too manh versions. one s one x WHATEVER give me a break #gray speaks

it is criminal that there are only three zelda games soundtracks on Nintendo music so far but I am satisfied with the sheer quantity of music from each game, like you can listen to the jingles for when you fuck up your cooking and the reveal trailers soundtracks. I am going to go crazy when they add the totk soundtrack though. I need it.

#i also like how they have the 'seamlessly loop for 1 hr' option for when you want to pretend you're freezing to death in the snow #the atmosphere potential is neat #i love you ambiant music #also they have the wii menus music and thats pretty cool too #btw this alone is making me think about zelda again i am having thoughts #so if i have a fic i was writing that i havent updated in a while don't give up hope bc they are invading my thoughts
