Does anyone have random Dragon Age headcannons that don't really have any big implications and just make things a little more fun?

I'll start: I've always thought that Blackwall/Thom Rainer is half-elven. No real reason beyond me thinking that his nose looked the way elf noses in Da2 looked and deciding so. I also think it makes his story sorta juxtapose Michele de Chevin's and may have motivated him (at least a bit) to decline the Chevaliers offer at the Grand Tourney

I saw it in your tag game post that you're also fond of the Apollo-Heracles conflict 👀 for a myth that appears in only a couple of sources, it sure has a lot of presence in the vase paintings (no seriously, everytime I think I've seen the last of it, I find ten more)

SO do you have any favorites among the paintings that represent this story??

OMG OMG THIS ASK IS A GIFT. IT IS A GIFT THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR LETTING ME TALK ABOUT THIS

I also think it's extremely interesting that it's a story so popularly portrayed by vase paintings and in such a variety of ways!! It's certainly one of the stories that gets left out of written compilation of Heracles' legend a bit (which is a shame, I think it's a fantastic story) but Apollo had a very peculiar relationship with Heracles in general that I just kind of find amazing (and very, very funny).

Apollo is not a god with any legitimate grudge against Heracles, but he does argue with the mortal a bit like he argues with his favourite brothers 😂Part of why I love the story of Apollo and Heracles fighting over the tripod so much is that it is such a little brother thing for Heracles to be upset with the proclamation his elder brother has given him and so, he throws a great fit, taking up the chair and declaring that he'll just give himself a better prophecy! And Apollo, instead of being a marginally professional big brother, decides to fight him for it until their father has to break up their cat-fight. Like was that not just the plot of the Homeric Hymn to Hermes? Is this not exactly how Apollo treated Hermes when he was a child and now those two are inseparable? 💀

Because of this, my favourite vase paintings tend to be the ones that highlight the personal squabbling between Apollo and Heracles the most. There are some very elaborate ones that have the full host of them - Athena, Heracles, Apollo, Artemis, usually a dog and a doe, I've even seen a couple that had birds and plants etched on them, but the simplest ones that show Heracles about to bonk Apollo with his club out of frustration or depict Heracles nyooming away from Apollo while Apollo (presumably) yells curses about how he's going to fling Heracles head first into Tartarus for daring to take his things? Yeah, those are the premium big brother/little brother things I'm looking for.

HERACLES?? Heracles who can break me in seven pieces with a thought Heracles???'#And Apollo just gives him a thumbs up and says “feed him well pookie <33”#Genuinely some of the funniest shit I have the pleasure of reading in greek myth #Another reason I don't think Apollo has any ill will against Heracles though is how Apollo reacts when Heracles #loses Hylas in the Argonautica #Or well some versions of the Argonautica - this is also a story that changes wildly depending on the source/compilation #But Apollo is incredibly sympathetic to Heracles' sorrow and kind of decides there and then that Heracles losing one love #should be the return of another and asks that Zeus let Heracles free Prometheus when he makes his descent into the underworld #Similarly it is Apollo who anoints Alcaeus/Alcides the name Heracles (also dependent on the myth source)#They just had a very fun relationship and it's a serious shame that it's not acknowledged more #apollo #heracles #greek mythology #(Also people do not talk about the fact that Apollo grappled with Heracles to a standstill enough actually)

I might be killed for saying this but there is something so smart about opening your (arguably worst) new album with "this isn't rock and roll, this is music for children"

God i hope so uts hilarious #it has sass it has BITE #its camp idc #i came with zero expectations for this album then I was hit in the face with an actually very good and fun song basically calling me a Kid #amazing #there is something so fun and honestly cool about eurovision artists admitting that they have Become Mainstream #that their music is not as good as it was #that it has become POP #that their music is now for literal children #and that we are children playing along with them #its also kinda liberating #the idea of music for the sake of being playful and fun #because idk about you i came with big expectations about big lyrics about big things #we kinda got them dont get me wrong #but i liked being slapped in the face and being told Shut up let's just have a little fun #i had fun! i wouldnt have liked this album as half as i did without Muzika za decu being first #wonderful opener and my favorite song of this album #overall i think there are a lot of very smart songs in this album #that kinda play in my opinion with their shift of perception after eurovision #i think its a very contextual maybe even subjective album #and while i think musically its not as good as demoni or um it gives you a lot to think

#was watching late night with the devil then it ended to advertised this new series called the trauma code?#and the guy keeps yelling and im like wtf is he going on about #then the trailer goes on about to depict how messy the whole thing is but sure yeah trauma is messy but the team has to be the most #organized team like the system has to be top tier and ppl yell in ot but not with emotions just to be louder and clearer #nobody is allowed to curse at other people and expect to get on with it its plain unprofessional. i get what you want to depict here is #this super rude but cool guy who can pull miracles in saving lifes but lemme tell you. trauma is the most humbling thing ever #it's the least sub-dep where you can pull a fucking miracle. you do your best and that's it. it's damage control surgery through and throug #you open and pack and then wait for god and universe to permit you to re-enter and fix what's broken in there #if the patient makes it 24h #if not #then you can't do anything about it #then ofc i let the first episode play and the first few minutes of my wasted life watching him unnecessarily speed without a proper blood #bag and drop the bloods all over the ground - unsanitary. just to depict him as the hero. now #medical is nothing about heroism. nothing romantic and this is exactly where kdrama fails in giving tribute to healthcare #chicago med has some good episodes but even that gets messy after a few. others.. i would never recommend medical series

More Pokémon Horizons Episode 25 spoilers under the cut!

As much as I laughed from how this played out like an unintentionally comedic moment---can I mention how much this actually does to separate Amethio from the rest of the Explorers; how he's actually honorable and respects Friede as a rival of sorts?

The rest of the Explorers tend to use underhanded tricks to get what they want (Spinel brainwashing Liko and attempting to wipe her memory, Onyx and Sango trying to overwhelm the others against direct orders whilst causing the destruction of everything else around them), but Amethio has been unique in how he's regarded as 'by the books' (by Friede) and constantly tries to be on equal footing with his opponent- even if it means putting himself at the disadvantage when he has more resources to utilize.

He could've very easily overwhelmed Friede by having both of his mons attack at once (given how Captain Pikachu hadn't arrived yet)---and yet he- doesn't. Which is just so interesting to me as he's meant to have a similar goal as the rest of the Explorers (which is to retrieve the pendant/Terapagos by any means necessary).

So in this case, was it really a matter of defeating Friede so that he could easily confront Liko afterwards,,, or,,,,, was he trying to prove himself somehow? 👀✨✨✨
