No but 'The Crown Keepers' if they FAIL to keep their crown (Opal) would no longer be...The Crown Keepers.

They might disband, retiring the name, because what use is a name if it isn't true anymore.

They might keep the name, as a reminder of what led to this point. They KEPT a crown, a vestige of divergence with them until the very last moment, balancing it between them and becoming weaker and weaker because they didn't trust anyone else with it, causing Opal to put it on and for this to happen, for them not only to lose Opal but lose Opal to the crown. If Opal becomes a champion of the Spider Queen she is one and the same as the crown. She is the last remining, taking the name literally, Crown Keeper. Forever.

More than that, imagine being branded by your decisions. Power is not good, it is not bad, it is dangerous but it is amoral. Power is who wields it.

The Crown Keepers may sound impressive as a name but it is their history, their glue. They are all keepers of the crown of the Spider Queen, that is what Lolith might not understand. (At least that's my interpretation by taking the name of an adventuring party too literally and applying too much meaning to it.)

Dariax, Dorian, Opal, -Them all, even Morrighan who was not with them before Opal put the crown on, are all keepers of the crown. They protect Opal, they love Opal and therefore they protect the crown, they love the person wearing the crown. Lolith wants a champion but she is blind to the fact she has a group brought together for her, with her. Crown Keepers, glued together for their love, their responsibility to each other and named for their trust in each other, a name swearing to keep the vestige and a promise to protect.

I may sound silly but in a world where words have power, the Crown Keeper's name must have some kind of power to.

Do you have any thoughts on how the baavira romantic/sexual relationship began?

A lot, actually! We don't really get a lot of backstory for Kuvira and Baatar Jr's relationships. We know Kuvira was adopted into the Beifong family at age 8, which would probably bw the time Kuvira and Baatar met.

We know that Suyin tried to raise Kuvira as a sibling to her children for at least a little which is why a lot of people are put off by Baavira. Since I suppose they're incest-adjacent lol. Though we can speculate on whether Baatar and Kuvira actually saw each other as siblings. Like, at least according to the Westermarch effect Kuvira and Baatar would be too old to do any reverse sexual imprinting. Though that study is shaky lol.

I actually like to headcanon that Kuvira and Baatar butted heads a bit when they were kids. I believe that Baatar wa svery close with Opal when they were younger and he emphasised with Opal's feelings that Suyin was replacing her or getting a 'better daughter'. [We see he didn't fully lose his soft spot for Opal when he tries to stop the Spirit Canon from firing after he notices Opal is in the abandoned town]

So I can see him being a bit cold and distant to Kuvira for a while after she joins the family. Which would probably prompt Kuvira to respond in kind. So for a while they'd just be two eight year olds hating each other.

Though I think they would eventually mellow out. I can see Baatar noticing Kuvira is actually pretty lonely in the mansion and being really bad at trying to comfor her. He'd just go 'wanna see me make a potato into a battery' or smth, and Kuvira would somehow immediately cheer up.

I can see Kuvira and Baatar Jr being the ones to encourage one another to pursue their own dreams. Since both of them seemed to feel trapped by yhe expectations of Suyin and Baatar Sr respectively.

So I can see them slowly developing crushes on one another, but I can't see them acting on said crushes in Zaofu. In fact, I believe that they began dating after they left Zaofu.

I personally like to think it wa sright after their first great victory, which would be taking back Ba Sing Se. There would probably be at least a modest celebration. And Baatar and Kuvira would feel validated in their choice to leave Zaofu, and proud of what they've accomplished together. And I assume that one thing would lead to another and they would finally reveal their feelings for each other.

God imagine being the poor soldier stumbling in on them fucking nasty in Kuvira's office 😔
