Hey, first of all I’d like to thank you for all the lovely words and condolences. I’m feeling quite okay right now. I am still sad of course, but my thoughts are with my friend’s husband and sister, who suffer most.

I can’t believe it myself, but I actually finished my newest Sirius painting in August! (very last day, but still 😅 Grumpy SIrius in Grimmauld place 🤭 It has been a long time since I painted a more detailed background. It was a great experience, but very exhausting. I also made some bad perspective mistakes. Please ignore them 😅 I really put much effort into it, but in the end I still messed it up.

sirius really spent 12 years in solitary confinement with nothing but dementors for company, only to be locked up in his abusive childhood home for a year, and then murdered by his own cousin the one time he left it to protect harry.

it’s no wonder that sirius was such a healthier parental figure to harry during goblet of fire. he may have been alone and on the run, he may have been forced to live in a cave and to eat rats, but at least he was free.

oh oh oh sirius was in solitary confinement for twelve years. god why does no one talk about how that would ? affect him? do you think he had hallucinations? do you think he saw james and lily? do you think they blamed him? do you think he heard his mother? do you think she asked for her star back? do you think he heard his brother? asked why he did what he did? do you think i screamed for his father? asked why he wouldn't come to him, even like this?

do you think when he was on the run he was so paranoid he couldn't eat or move from one location for days? do you think he could tell reality from hallucination? do you think he had horrible panic attacks when he saw a wizard in black? do you think he couldn't eat regularly anymore because he threw it up?

do you think when he was at number twelve, he dissociated for weeks? if harry wasn't there, do you think he sat in his mother's room and stroked buckbeak's head and let his conscious slip? do you think he started forgetting everything? do you think he forgot how to play chess and cook mary's favourite dessert and what lily's favourite dress was and how james took his eggs every morning? do you think he was so afraid to sleep he stayed up for weeks? that he couldn't sleep without a potion? do you think he bled to feel something in the long months he didn't see his godson? do you think he thought of his mother while he did it? do you think he ever could properly eat again? how bad was his guilt? did he looked in the mirror and see murderer? do you think his mother's screaming was comfort to him after so many years of earth-shattering silence? do you think sirius took comfort in the fact that it was the only thing that was the same when everything had changed? do you think the only reason he didn't start drugs was because he had people who depended on him? because he'd never be taken into consideration if he was addicted to opioids? do you think he got angry more? do you think he got angry less? do you think he stopped trying to make connections with people?

Order of the Pheonix AU where almost everything is the same except the people in Grimmauld Place stay there the whole time because they're there for protection for various different reasons to be hidden from the wizarding world until everything's safe. And have to pretend to be one big happy family to fit in.

Oh, and no magic. Absolutely no magic otherwise they could be tracked down (no I don't know if magic works that way for the sake of the plot it does)

And the house is an absolute wreck, so now they're all having to clean it and renovate it with no magic and live there with each other 24/7.

The Weaselys are there because Arthur keeps offending the Ministry and they're worried the kids will be used against them. Hermione's there because she's also offended the Ministry by being too smart, somehow. Harry's there because his existence offends Voldemort. Remus is there because his existence offends the Ministry. Sirius is there because he's offended everyone. Tonks is there because she's also offended everyone. And Severus is there because he's offended Voldemort.

And so somehow they all need to work together and try cooperate while multiple people (Severus and Sirius) hate each others guts.

Also, while they're renovating, they're finding it ridiculously hard without magic or house elf help. All except Severus, who somehow does his assigned rooms twice as quickly. Naturally Harry and Ron think he's using magic while being forbidden to do so. They spy on him...

And it turns out, Snape's just really good at painting walls. Because "Not all of us had house-elves waiting on us hand and foot, Black. Some of us actually had to get things done on our own". Aka growing up poor in Cokeworth means learning to repair everything yourself

Secret Relationship

Sirius watched across the kitchen as Molly talked to Remus. Remus’s body language was closed and he had a neutral expresison fixed on his face. 

“Remus, can you assist me for a  moment?” Sirius asked in his most polite voice. Both he and Molly turned toward Sirius and he made a show of gesturing in the hallway.

“Thanks,” Remus said, once they’d cast a muffliato spell. 

“You looked trapped,” Sirius observed, taking Remus’s hands and pulling him closer.

“She said since I wasn’t ready to go out with Dora, she knew some other women who would just love me,” Remus said, his mouth twisting into a sardonic smile.

“Oh?” Sirius said, raising an elegant eyebrow. “Should I be jealous?”

“Fuck no,” Remus laughed, the tension breaking. 

“I’ll just snog you in front of everyone next time…maybe she’ll get the hint,”

“Then we wouldn’t be a secret anymore would we?”

“Oh Moony, I’ll always be your dirty little secret,” Sirius purred, nipping at his ear.

“Behave,” Remus chided. “Most of the Order is still here.”

“And it’s still my house. So I can do what I want,” Sirius countered.

“Can’t argue with that logic,” Remus said, pulling him into a kiss.

This is an illustration of @arliedraws one-shot "Scars". I completely fell in love with this fine little work of literature, so much I immediately knew I had to paint an illustration of it! Here is a snippet which inspired me for this illustration: ~~~

“You know what my family was like,” Sirius pressed. “You can imagine I’m not used to telling people that I care about them. So maybe it’s not clear to you, but I love you very much—”

It sounded like Sirius’s voice was coming from the end of a long tunnel, and Harry had the sudden urge to shove him back onto the floor. The feeling of a thumb rubbing against his knuckle kept him from floating away.

“—You’re the most important thing to me,” Sirius was saying. “I would die before I let anything happen to you.”

“But I don’t want you to die!�� Harry said. “That’s what I’m afraid of the most!”

Heat rushed into his face, and he pulled his hands away, tucking them back under his crossed arms. He couldn’t explain to Sirius that it would destroy him to lose the only parent he’d ever known; he couldn’t look him in the eye for fear that Sirius would guess the truth.

But Sirius reached and guided Harry’s chin so that their gazes met; the soft concern he wore nearly made Harry leap from the settee and run back to his room.
