While I was really bored, I drew some character from OOT with slightly modified outfits!! My favourite was Malon and I wanted to go for a bit more of a realistic style! (and i gave her earrings because why not-)
Hope you enjoy!

And after all that hassle and tangent quests and running all over the gerudo desert they don't even have the decency to give me a new OUTFIT PIECE?? I deserved the lightning helm back after all that!! Gimme! Not some rusty gerudo weapons and three gems >:(.
#loz#legend of zelda#totk spoilers#This is ACTUALLY a spoiler so be warned#totk#loz totk#I would NEVER have expected that plot twist absolutely blown away XD#Wonder which link it was? The only gerudo town was oot I think and link got in by being annoying enough#Maybe the 10k link?? The monster was implied to be a molduga maybe or the gibdo queen so it is possible#The npc I'm pretty sure was the archaeologist one from botw I'm so glad we got to collab XD#She's been working on that topic for years and we've solved it! i forgot how good the environmental storytelling in ocarina of time is. The NPCS in castle town react to ganondorf and zelda running away, there's the soldier who dies, and once you become an adult, it's all gone. You see the changes, you see what happened while you were asleep, i remember the first time i played i thought the redeads were all people in castle town that ganondorf killed, and i was relieved when i found them in kakariko
#ocarina of time#oot#raven the gamer#skyward sword does this too. all the NPCs dialogue changes depending on your quest. and they react to the statue of hylia falling#but ocarina of time NAILS it#bo--tw and to--tk could never

I had a dream the other night that i can't stop thinking about, where a new LOZ game was released in a similar vein to TOTK, except instead of collecting sages like in that game, there was a series of dungeons/temples that were directly tied to other LOZ games, and at the end, you gained the ability to summon the avatar/ghost of the hero from said game -like the TOTK sages- to help on your quest (and get a fun power up). All of the links would have stilted dialogue with you at first, but as the game goes on they get more friendly and at the end of the game theres a cutscene where they all "move on" and it's super emotional cuz by this point they're all brothers (player-link actually emotes during this cutscene, the only time he does so, for an extra punch in the gut). I don't remember all of the details, but what I do remember was:
A Palace of the Four Sword dungeon where you gained the Link(s) from FSA. FSA Link was the simplest in terms of abilities, the avatar would split into 4 and distract enemies/fight alongside you. Pretty sure this was the first one/tutorial temple. Later on this link gives you a sidequest after which you gain the Four Sword as a weapon (its the second strongest in the game behind the master sword).
A Tower of Winds dungeon where you got Minish Cap Link to tag along. He allows you to shrink for short periods of time to get through locked doors/escape danger. Don't remember much about this dungeon except that there's a timer to get through it before yiu have to start over.
Forest temple/great deku tree/kokiri forest type place where Oot/MM link joins up with you. He allows you to rewind time for a little bit (basically the recall ability but on everything including you). Later on He gives a sidequest that results in obtaining the Fierce Deity Mask (best armor in the game).
Arbiter grounds dungeon where you get TP link. He's basically a glorified horse; you ride him around.
Tower of the Gods dungeon where you get WW/PH Link to tag along. He's like Revali's Gale and Tulin's gust in one.
The dungeon to get the Master Sword is like the Skyview Temple, and to be allowed to draw it you must beat SS Link as the final boss of the temple, After which he joins you on your quest. He allows you to do skyward strikes with any one handed weapon.
A secret, optional dungeon that you only unlock by falling asleep on this random island. It's kohohlit. The only avatars/ghosts that you can access here are OoT/MM Link and WW/PH Link (because PH was a dream and MM was an alternate reality). By the end, You get Alttp/albw/LA link who can put enemies to sleep for a time. Later he gives you a sidequest to get ravio's bracelet, which opens up a few easter eggs and secret loot.
Other links/games were included as easter eggs but they don't stick around. BOTW/TOTK Link is a recurring ghostly NPC who you can find in all the weirdest places, offering seemingly nonsensical trades that change every time you see him (10 frogs for 13 bombs, a ruby for an apple pie, 35 monster parts for a single ancient arrow, etc). There's a few places around hyrule where you see two-bit LOZ1/LOZ2 Link just vibing. ST Link takes the place of Purah or Robbie as the eccentric scientist/engineer who will upgrade your stuff if you bring him materials, and he can also upgrade your ghost-Link-friend's abilities as well since he's -y'know- Hero of Spirits.
There's murals in the castle from Cadence of Hyrule, and there's "ancient history books" about HW and AoC. Throughout Hyrule you'll meet various NPCs claiming to be from different countries here to see "the birthplace of the hero of Holodrum/Labrynnia/Calatia."
Various Zelda's would show up too. You get a sidequest where you have to sneak aboard a ghost pirate ship. It's Tetra's. There's a mysterious sheikah warrior who repeatedly accosts you on your travels to loredump and test if you're ready to fight the big bad. She only ever brings you down to half heart, at which point she makes a disappponted comment and leaves. you aren't able to beat her until near endgame, at which point she reveals herself as sheik, has a brief conversation with Oot/MM Link, gives you some cryptic foreshadowing advice and a few fairies, and dips. BOTW/TOTK zelda is similar to her link since she can be found all over the place, but she deals exclusively in ancient materials and dragon parts. TP Zelda gives lore/exposition when you finally make it to the castle, right before the big bad fight.
Big bad is an amalgamation of all ganons/ganondorfs/big bads across the timelines. He telegraphs attacks via shifting forms to look like various bad guys (forms tentacles like bellum and Majora (at the same time) before slam attack, gets blue pig face before charge attack, long purple vaati hair and bat wings before AOE gust attack, scales up his arm and X on face before big AOE lightning blast, and big fuck-all sword and gerudo features before slashing. 2nd phase has it split into like 5 separate beings to fight you and all your friends at once (each one has different features: one is similar to bellum/majora, one is more beast-ganon, one more demise, one Vaati-esque one, and one Ganondorf-like one). The music is harsh and disjointed, cobbled together from many other games, and the noises that the beast makes are screeching and painful.
By the end of the game, there's a big deal made by SS link that you are the final Link in the cycle, that it's over, that you finished what he couldn't. There's a sense of hope, but also of sorrow, since all your new friends are leaving now. They're ghosts, they're dead, they've done their duty and it's time for them to rest. Before they go, though, each one gives you one last gift (the ability they've been helping you with this whole time) and one last sidequest (one for each of them) for you to accomplish: find their treasures, keep them safe.
Post game is you running around without the ghosts (FSA Link's ability duplicates you now, giving you 3 buddies to fight with, but they can't give dialogue and they last like 30 seconds so it's not the samel), doing mini-dungeons and fetch-quests in order to obtain major key items (all old and unusable anymore) from the Links' adventures, (the Beetle, goddess harp, spinner, shards of the fused shadow, deku/goron/Zora masks, gnat hat, various kinstones, pictobox, deku leaf, LA instruments, Ocarina of Time, wind waker, etc) and some from games not mentioned previously or not from your gaggle of links, (Harp of ages, rod of seasons, silver arrows, a doppel, ST panpipes, a revival doll, Cadence of Hyrule Lute, HW blue Scarf, old and broken Terrako, champion's tunic, BOTW champion's picture, trirod, etc). In post-game, there are new NPCs to replace the links/zeldas that used to fill those niches, but it's not the same. They're gone. It's a bittersweet feeling.
After you finish all the post game and get all the treasures (basically 100%ing the game), you get an achievement called "archive of the ages" and a special cutscene where Player Link sets the Master sword down on the side of his bed, looks out the window of his house at the brilliantly setting sun, smiles, and falls asleep. You may no longer play on that save file anymore. The adventure is over.
Basically I dreamt up a game that was a love letter to the entire series, and I'm sad it was just a dream. Logically i know this will never happen because that would mean tying up LOZ and it's too much of a cash cow for Nintendo to ever stop making, but it was a wonderful dream to have for a little while.

I'd love to see a graphics/camera update and an expanded map to explore, but riddled with the same lore discoverables (gossip stones, false walls, spirit warnings, lore drop npcs, etc) and heavily area-specific atmospheres of the OoT/WW/TP era.
I really enjoy the smooth experience of open world, but I really don't mind loading into a new area if it can bring the anticipation and energy shift of triggering a cut scene without necessarily having a cut scene there.
Out of morbid curiosity I’m lowering a mic into the pit to task, if OoT did get a modern remake what would be the main thing u would hope to see changed/updated/reworked?
#in fact I think that 'trigger a cutscene' load pause is something I really miss in open world games#especially if I lose my shit if I leave a certain radius anyway!!#Like if I could take the new map and mechanics of the wilds era and flood it with story-driven discovery and surprise cut scene triggers#that would be my IDEAL Zelda game#man i tell ya gen DESIGN and DoubleFine really spoiled the shit out of me for organic 3d open world(ish) combat puzzle platformers lol#If Nintendo could get on that level for story driven open world gaming I would be drooling all over my controller about it#thinking about it is enough to make me itch to learn game design#also like lkajsdlkja imagine being able to go explore the castle and talk to Ganondorf and the King before bad shit goes down#Imagine being able to talk to Gan as an NPC?? Even if only at the beginning of the game??#And Kepora Gebora???#OoT but you get to the castle gate when Gan is there and you can can have a dialogue tree with him while he's waiting to be let in#If the guard catches you sneaking around the hill he laughs at you but never tells on you bc he's a thief too lmao#Gan telling you about the passage in the back because he's a chaos monger alskdja imagine#I would much rather have an assload of story nugget than a repetitive warp point every twenty feet

Been thinking about possible sages/npcs that help out KeyChain during their adventure
And like, I was thinking about
Earth sage: komali/medli rito descendant
Wind sage: korok and disciple of makar
Fire sage: goron named Link lol since I like the idea that post OOT all the goron chiefs kept the tradition of naming one of their children Link like Darunia did in honor of the hero of time, which plays with the idea that in KeyChain era the name Link is hilariously common
Water sage: really want them to be an anouki 👀
I have names and the designs of them rotating in my head, so if I get the inspiration I might draw them some time
#i have those sages so far#wind waker only has 2 sages meanwhile ocarina of time had like 7 lol#so 4 is like a healthy middle i guess#miry's yapping#doing some wordlbuilding finally#key&chain loz ocs

First, remove the #zelink tag. I once made a post criticizing ganlink and also put it in the ship tag. Luckily, polite people came to warn me and ask me to remove the tag, as these tags are for people who like the ship. Why would you purposefully put this in a tag directly opposite your post’s point? Tagging zelink on a hate post is like if you HATED cheese, and decided to drive 30 minutes over to the local cheese market to yell at people who are buying cheese. like, nobody is in the tag/market is going to go “oh damn you’re so right. cheese/this ship sucks”
The malink theory doesn't make sense because: TP Link IS NOT THE OWNER of the ranch, that's FADO. TP Link is the ONLY HYLIAN in Ordon. It's probably that he's an orphan, he lives in a tree. There's no evidence that Link likes Malon aaaaaand IN THE JP VERSION, the sheikah stone said that Malon wants a PRINCE CHARMING, not a Knight, this destroy completely the Malink "evidence".
Then comes the question "Ah, but when Link went back in time, he obviously stayed with Malon because Zelda didn't remember him" and I ask: WHY?
Seriously, regardless of whether or not Malon liked Link, who is Malon in Link's life? How important is she in his life? She is the girl Epona gave him and is another one of the many people he saved (it's worth remembering that he only went to the Ranch to get Epona, Malon didn't matter).
"""A-ctually 🤓 In MM Link has the Ocarina of Time and Epona both being incredibly important to Zelda and Malon, meaning Link had some relationship with both of them in the child timeline. The Cremia hug is the only time we see someone hug Time and the dialogue “You feel all warm and fuzzy inside! Sigh… You could get used to this!” We know how Link feels it warm and fuzzy.""""
And what does this prove? That Link considered Cremia to be someone minimally warm, but that matters little, Marín is a reflection of Zelda in Link's dream, but she is not Zelda, the same goes for Cremia, who even though she really was based on Malon, she is not Malon (Link interacted more with Malon as a child than as an adult, there would be no way for Link to know much about Malon as an adult).
And if you tell me that they are Malon or based on Malon, then you have to admit that Marín is Zelda from Link's Awakening, after all it has already been confirmed that she was created from Link's memories and that Malon is just a reference to Marín, just like his father and uncle are Mario and Luigi. Link knows NOTHING about Malon, Malon has had minimal impact, she is not a friend, she is no different from the other NPCs Link saves in the game. There's no reason for Link to see her as anything more than "the girl who sold me Epona." Cremia and Romani are creations of Termina, Link's memories did not influence this world as in Link's Awakening. They are people with their own personalities and problems, the only thing they have from Malon is their appearance and living on a ranch. Just it. There is no deep reason for them to have Malon's model.
Not to mention: So what? Let's say Link fell in love with Cremia, well, what a tragedy, because she disappeared with Termina and when he returns to Hyrule he will find Malon and, guess what? You will discover that Malon IS NOT Cremia (nor Romani). Malon doesn't have Romani's memories, she doesn't have Romani's experiences, her skills, she doesn't have Romani's PERSONALITY, she just has her appearance. And if you say that this doesn't interfere with Link being with Malon, then you're validating oot zelink fans, after all, the fact that this Zelda doesn't have oot Zelda's memories doesn't interfere with the possibility of her being with Link.
If I go to a ranch I've never been to and the owner's daughter sells me a mare, even if her favorite, it means little or nothing. Cremia hugs Link and he doesn't hug her back, but seriously, a kid who's been through the worst shit getting a hug of gratitude, those words are expected.
And another, the fact that TP Link has Epona and knows her song, strengthens his connection with Oot Link but not with Malon, since Epona now belongs to Link and he knows her song, Malon is not obligatory to pass on this knowledge, Link may have taught these things to his wife and children.
And finally, TP Link is a farmer, and? Oot Link died as a high-ranking member of the Hylian army, TP Link's work does nothing to help us learn about his family, especially when TP Link works on SOMEONE ELSE'S farm, a human's, OUTSIDE THE LON-LON RANCH and no one in the Order knows anything about Link's parents. Malon isn't the most obvious choice, she's just the laziest: "TP Link is a farmer and so is Malon, so Malon is obviously his ancestor."
In the game itself Malon isn't even that teased as a love interest for Link, the closest thing that we have is the Sheika stone that say that Malon dream about having a romance with a charming knight wich don't even really refers to Link. The manga adaptation took this sole line and reduced Malon's character to it to make her the cliche of the normal childhood friend with an unquireted love for the hero who end up with an important woman but in the game she most of her character is linked to the ranch and her familly, not really to Link.
Now, again, TP Link is a farmer in a human village, outside of Castel Town, no one in Ordon knows Link's parents or how he got to the village, Epona's song could easily be transmitted only by Oot Link because he knows the song, Malon is NOT necessary to justify why TP Link has a mare called Epona and knows her song, Oot Link remembered the song, Malon taught him now he can teach this song to anyone, Epona's song is not a solid proof.
Regarding Zelda Lullaby, Zelda's royalty seems to be quite matriarchal since Hylia's powers seem to manifest themselves only in the women of the family, in addition to the fact that in Oot/MM, her function is more of a secret song to perform spells than a lullaby itself.
If we take into consideration that there are 300 years between MM and TP, along with my bastard child theory, it would make sense that TP Link didn't know Zelda's lullaby.
As we do not have information about Link's parents, nor more concrete information about the post-MM period, I agree, both Malink and Zelink are possible, the question is how Malink senders treat this as absolute truth when there is no solid evidence that this can be true.
Other thing: Oot Zelink couldn't happen because Zelda is a princess... Where does it say that? Where in Zelda's lore does this say? Zelda's royalty is already very different from ours, considering that titles of nobility have basically zero importance, not to mention that the beginning of MM makes it clear that the royal family had a lot of appreciation for Link, besides, as far as I I know, the royal family doesn't seem to have problems with royal marriages with members of the army (for example we have Rhoam and Zelda's mother in BotW) and considering that Link has become an important member of the royal army and that his tomb is in the territory of the royal family leads me to believe that he wasn't just anyone and about his forgotten history, well, in TP we have no reference to Oot Zelda and her reign or the reign of her children nor to other characters from Oot, so it seems that everyone in the generation of Oot Link were forgotten.
I'm sorry but I cannot see Zelink in ocarina of time. Zelda practically ruined his life by sending him back 7 years, everything he went through, forgotten. Yes link knew sheik but they really just showed up before each temple to play some music and say some deep ass poem to him. I just don't get Zelink in this game UNLESS it's the manga. The manga still kinda forced the ship.
#ocarina of time#Zelda#Oot#Loz#no TP does not confirm malink#malon is an irrelevant NPC who doesn't even have a full page of dialogue#saria the kokoris ruto zelda darunia epona are link's friends and not a random girl who sold epona to him#selling epona is malon's only function#ruto has more presence and reasons for people to ship it#if you like malink be happy#BUT DON'T GIVE ME THAT SHIT ABOUT MALINK IS CANON BECAUSE IT'S NOT#i'm angry#God#it's been a while since I've done a test on anger

one thing i love about totk’s story is the sense of RESPECT the world has for link. like compared to botw, where he’s this kind of fabled failure of a hero (similar to zelda) who everyone thinks is dead, whose ultimate enemy (clammy ganon) is a beast devoid of personality who *can’t* feel any type of way about him.
but in totk, he is so respected and known for what he has done for the world in the past five years. even when npcs don’t recognize him AS himself, they speak of him highly. yiga clan members hate him so personally and use his actual name. they have fanart of him on the walls. zelda speaks of him SO highly in the past, convincing the sages who are total strangers to tell their descendants to assist him. the sages, in turn, assist him without question, especially the ones who were already his friends. zelda convinces rauru to put his absolute faith in link, and that’s how we get the most badass cutscene in the game: rauru imprisoning ganondorf.
because holy shit, that cutscene. the music is what elevates it, but what’s already there is so good. re: the music, rauru’s theme flowing into link’s triumphant theme during his speech about link beating ganondorf, then flowing back into the resigned resolution his own. goddamn. and then the lingering hyrule castle/gdorf theme fading as he’s imprisoned. goddamn.
and ganondorf (here’s the big point of the post) actually takes link seriously. like the whole “i look forward to meeting him” was partially aloof on his part, but this man was DETERMINED to insult link the second he woke up after this confrontation. he is pissed that people respect link and think he’s capable of stopping him. it feels so personal on his side of things, unlike even windwaker, where ganondorf had a lot of personal stakes and was a complex character, but saw link and zelda more as pawns then adversaries. and in oot he’s straight up just like “uh who’s this kid,” and in twilight princess link doesn’t even know ganondorf is the real villain until the end of the game.
ganondorf meets link in the opening of the game and takes his arm, his sense of normalcy, and best friend away from him. the entire game is link learning how the hell this happened in the past, seeing ganondorf’s arrogant personality and pure contempt for everything he stands for, and wanting very badly to not only save the world he loves, but also his best friend, who sacrificed herself so he may stop ganondorf.
what i’m saying is, that final confrontation feels SO earned. and it’s incredible—the way ganondorf taunts link during the fight, takes cheap shots at his arm, and then essentially kills his own personhood out of a refusal to admit defeat.
there were disappointing things about ganondorf in totk, but this was not one of them. both his and rauru’s characters entirely justified themselves over the course of the story. a month or so out, i am still so pleased with this game.

"bc i find it weird and uncomfortable how nintendo treats and comments on Riju and the gerudo as a whole"
Could you elaborate on this? Outside of men perving on the Gerudo (which is honestly just representative of real life scenarios) I can't think of anything problematic in regards to how they or Riju are treated. (Her being put into power at such a young age is questionable but that's just one of the downfalls of hereditary ruling I think.)
This is genuine, I'm not trying to be sarcastic or obtuse or anything! I never noticed anything overtly concerning so I just was curious what you were referring to. (Sorry I'm sure there's a post or something I missed where you were talking about it.)
so, this ask comes off as a little weird since the Gerudo are very overtly orientalist/racist stereotypes and you can just .. .research it instead but, given that i recently got an ask from someone saying they were 14 i will answer it bc i know sometimes you think first about asking someone about something instead of looking it up yourself
so, mind you, i am not a person of color, and the issues are a giant can of worms i cannot possibly go into every detail of nor know every detail of
the Gerudo, both in older games and new ones (botw/totk) are basically a bunch of stereotypes about black and arab people rolled into one, they are based on a mish mash of middle eatern cultures together with popular stereotypes about them
they wear stupidly impractical sexy clothing for people living in the desert, its very skin exposing (something that is the opposite of what you do living in an environment like that) and based on the wrong but popular idea of the 'belly dancer' outfit- an outfit that isnt sexual but was popularized as something akin to a strippers outfit by western people (colonizers im pretty sure .. who else) and is STILL used as that, they also wear high heels ... in the desert ......... a sand desert .... and wear heavy make up (like hylian women dont)
even worse then that the EXACT SAME outfit is used for the children as well, they too are put into heels, heavy makeup, and that 'belly dancer' outfit which is very VERY uncomfortable if you know what that oufit is largely seen as .. (even if youd try to argue that Riju wears it to seem more like a competent leader, it falls flat bc the children wear the same damn weird outfit as everyone else)
the Gerudo are also all very muscular in a way that no other women is in the game, which plays into the stereotype of black women being more masculine/mannish than uwu frail little white women and thus, among more, less women, or being able to feel less pain (yes that is an actual belief wtf??), while at the same time still sexualized
now in OOT they were thiefing evil women (thief being yet another stereotype for arabs as well as evil) whos only 'good' one both rejecting some of their tradition (kinda playing into the idea of those tradtions being wrong and adhering to the "good" traditions of western people is what makes you good) and is also abused throughout the game; in botw/totk they are not eviiiil but live in a closed to all men city and their entire society revolves around finding a hylian man to marry, their only goal in life is basically to find a man and have a family which i HOPE i dont have to explain why that is problematic (misogyny anyone) while it is treated by other NPCs as something to be conquered, something alien and other that beckons them to invade, they constantly try to get into the city where all da sexyyyy women are (hello????????????) and its less treated as disgusting and more like a haha little joke (in botw theres a guy circling around the city at all times??? excuse me?? and in totk the same guy is SNEAKING ON THE ROOFS OF THE HOUSES IN THE CITY LOOKING TO GET IN?????????????????)
the argument of that just being real life is ... not all wrong per se but the thing is, ONLY the Gerudo are treated like sexy things to be oogled at (both in OOT and botw/totk, possibly even more but i am not as familiar with all games in the franchise) and no other women from any species is eyebrow raising to say the least, and it never really gets called out either beyond making fun of that one guy by scamming him out of his boots by .. pretending to be a girl (pretty sure link is the only non Gerudo that is oogled at by anyone and its the creepiest creep)
then, with Riju in particular its made even worse that she is not just young but VERY young (which also begs the question why the fuck the Gerudo would put someone so young into the seat of leader of their entire region- something also no other race does), shes only 12 in botw and yet, like all the other children too, put into the same kind of outfit, but then theres also the commentary in the concept art book saying that "gerudo age faster than hylians and thats why shes got a mature air to her" which, among being a way to make how shes sexualized (both in outfit and at times camera angles- also applies to Urbosa) seem more okay (its not) and plays into the stereotype that people of color are quicker to gorw up and thus be treated as adults despite being children like any other child- hence why often in the news when a black child is shot they dont call them a child but "young man", using that to subtly shift it to seem more okay (like we are currently seeing in the genocide of palestine, news calling a murdered SIX year old palestinian "YOUNG WOMAN" while calling a 19 year old white soldier lady who got a little bruise an abused child)
and it also applies to Ganondorf, he is the epitome of evil arab men stereotype, power hungry abusive and ruling over lots of women (in this case its his entire race...), (with a hint of antisemitism too, his hooked nose being both used as an overemphasized feature for arabs and jewish people as a sign of their connection to the devil/sing of evil and to other them from white 'good little noses'- (((i want to yell about this so much bc big and hooked noses are so cool and beautiful argh))) and his skin tone being always some strange greyish-yellow color no one else has and even worse mint green in totks official art, despite him being very dark grey in model- green skin being yet another antisemitic trope PLUS playing into the whole idea that being evil means you also LOOK evil, whichs is often, who would have guessed- anything that isnt the traditional western beauty ideal of thin thin white and young)
while also in totk, he as well is sexualized with his new revealing outfit and the weird constant emphasis on how he is meant to be sexy to everyone alike (and it not being apparent in the game nor used in it) in multiple interviews with the main people in charge of the franchise- and his evilness being what all the Gerudo must atone for, they birthed this eviiil man (who is evil from birth i guess bc thats totally fine and logical) and they have to bear that sin for all eternity (as in dialog about him in the gerudo sage cutscene, plus the whole idea of the closed off city, despite there having been no ganondorf in thousands of years, being closed of to men as to shut out any potential Ganondorf or similar evil? though the latter im not sure how supported it is .. i cant remember every line of dialog ok) while the hyrulean monarchy and its uwu blonde god descdendants are never even confronted with the horrible shit they did, bc its fine if they torture and murder people (OOT and possibly more), chase them into the void or persecute their own servants bc da king got afraid they could rise up against him- with their only choice being give up their tech and knowledge to live under the royal rule (botw/totk ancient shiekah- shiekah, and its presented as a good thing, we are all happy beign the eternal servants of the monarchy :)))) or be killed, and the ones resisting are eviiiill and now a cult and also very stupid and silly and not to be taken seriously (yiga) while its mentioned once as a fun fact and never ever mentioned again, bc, the hyrulean monarchy is all god descendant uwu white blonde people that are so good you guys, everything they do is in the name of good uwu and neva to be questioned uwu bc obviously everyone that opposed to them is evil bc they are the perfectest good guys uwu
youd think, and i hoped, they would do better by now, in botw, the gerudo are not well done at all, different than before but still bad, but at least they introduced other people with darker skin tones that arent Gerudo so they are not the literal only people with non white skin anymore- but with totk espeically, they had the chance to make Ganondorf into an interesting villain with a point, maybe not even full blown villain, bc he has a point- he does but its not treated as such, its treated as if he is the most blatantly flat evil guy ever- even more flat and one note evil than all his previous appearances, which is frankly, quite insulting to say the least
look i wanted to keep it short but here we are, i dont know if this anon was genuinely being genuine or not (since bigots like to act all non offensive and like to ask you to explain your very obvious point ..) but i dont htink i ever talked about it as a whole so eh- i probably missed stuff but anyway, heres a good video about it for zelda in particular
youtube
#ganondoodles answers#zelda#i really dont think you need to be an expert to see why how they are portrayed is off#but who knows#none of the biggest zelda youtubers ever mention it either#so maybe to some people it realyl is a non problem#...given how many baffling racist comments i have seen about the gerudo .... theres worse i guess#wasted work time with this#but anyway
