Episodes were all mediocre as always, nothing special aside from a few fun moments here and there

I am missing how, due to the power escalation in Psi, we’ve seemingly gone from Devimon being the villian to straight to Milleniummon (who isn’t even revived yet), with no direct villianous force to look out for... Like it just makes Psi feel pretty aimless right now (I think I had the same complaint about Appmon too)...

That said I am deeply enjoying the alternative evolutions (even if they’re just temporary)! I am hoping we might see a little bit more of those but not holding my breath for it (but Toei if you did give us more, specifically for Sora and co, that would be cool)

Post game Bernadetta and Ferdinand headcanons based on Edelgard’s route (tho I don’t think it’s gonna change these that much lol) bc I got sick and lost all will to write and draw for a long time lol

-these guys were definitely the first couple in the army to get married after the war, Ferdinand’s too in love with Bernadetta to stand not being married to her any longer

—Bernie was both excited and apprehensive just bc on one hand someone WANTS to be with her for the rest of her life but on the other hand her anxiety is like ooooo what if he doesn’t and it’s weird. Then she remembered she could ditch the von Varley in her name and was instantly ready for this to go down

-as much as Ferdinand would have loved having a huge elaborate wedding with a crap ton of people so he could tell all of them how wonderful Bernadetta was, that would give Bernie some insane levels of anxiety. He settled for super fancy with just their friends and non-hated family members

—this isn’t a wedding post but Alois DEFINITELY walks Bernie down the aisle okay it’s important

-this one’s more general but Bernie probably had to go raid her room at the Varley estate since she wasn’t planning on going back ever at that point and she very nervously asks Ferdinand if he’ll come with her so her dad can’t talk to her while she’s there, and obv he’s going to do that

—fast forward a bit and Bernadetta’s cleaning out her stuff and literally all of the black eagles, even Edelgard and Petra, are there absolutely ready to beat her dad to death if he even comes into their range of vision. Bernie’s terrified the entire time she’s there but very thankful that everyone’s happy to support her

-it takes a little while bc Bernadetta doesn’t want to be a bother even tho they are MARRIED, but eventually Ferdinand helps her get a garden and greenhouse going so she can have normal plants outside and carnivorous plants inside

—having the garden is actually great bc it’s the one thing Bernie will go outside for on a daily basis and tend to things, maybe do a bit of sketching. Also it comes in handy for short little walks where they hold hands and lean on each other

—-Bernadetta takes up botany as a regular thing actually, it combines her favorite things: drawing and painting, writing, and carnivorous plants

-since he can do whatever he wants now, Ferdinand is going to the opera all the time and, when Bernie’s feeling good about it, he brings her along

—he’s very excited in general and sings little bits of the different songs he knows all the time. Sometimes when it’s just them he’ll start dancing with Bernie and singing and she’ll just turn into a giggling mess

-Ferdinand is well aware of the fact that Bernadetta doesn’t feel comfortable going places alone and that when he travels for Prime Minister related stuff she holes up in their room the entire time, so he tries to tie his work related trips into stuff she can enjoy

—oh Ferdie’s going to a council meeting with Edelgard? Bernie gets to see a bunch of the old gang! Trip outside of the country to do peace negotiations? New plants to check out! Ferdinand makes sure these aren’t afterthoughts either there are several days devoted to just doing stuff Bernadetta wants so she’s not miserable the entire time

-Bernie still has abuse nightmares and panic episodes, those never really go away with complex ptsd, but they’re a lot less common when Ferdie’s there all the time to give her a big hug and tell her she’s alright and just help her through them in general

—I imagine their house (castle?) is filled with plants and paintings and various weapons from Ferdie’s collection and it’s generally delightful to be in so it’s very nice for Bernadetta’s anxiety

I am gonna say, because Psi is constantly moving, like there’s constantly an oncoming threat and the characters never get to take a fucking break (that’s longer than 5 minutes), it just... Because there’s no contrast between danger and peace, it makes the non-stop danger feel far less dangerous imo

Aaaand nothing of value was seen there. I mean I do know what Patamon probably evolves into because I do follow the Digimon Twitter so like, I saw the relevant art they shared but ye

Anyways  a lot of these episodes were dull as usual, I didn’t feel like I missed out on much tbh aside from the sexy animation and the lore

This really drives it home to me how not having a villian of somekind just constantly present and active really makes a story so much more flat for me... Like I ain’t gonna argue Devimon or MetalSeadramon were interesting villians, but even just seeing them planning their next moves outloud and talking to their minions drove home what kind of people they were, and they weren’t even the most Packed-With-Personality villians in Adventure.    And while SkullKnightmon is there... they’re just kinda standing around. I don’t know much about them really and it makes me sad

(Look I’m sorry I’m a filthy villian-stan and not having interesting villians to stan makes me sad)

Anyways, as always, I am definitely looking forward to whatever the fuck Psi is planning on doing because 1. Holy Shit It’s Milleniummon and 2.
