arlecchino walked into the door with a million problems on her mind, as per usual. she was silent as she tossed her jacket onto a nearby chair, rolling her sore shoulders and neck, eyebrows still furrowed from frustration.

her thoughts were as tense as her muscles, only to relax involuntarily when she heard soft music coming from the bedroom.

she took careful steps, minimizing the click of her heels on the tile towards the beautiful music. she instantly recognized the piece being played; one of her personal favorites that she had memorized the sheet music for entirely.

the bedroom door was already open partially, allowing music to flood out into the hallway. she slowly pushed the door further open, completely silent as she leaned against the doorframe.

her eyes fell upon you at her grand piano, a rather expensive and elegant model. arlecchino often played in the evenings for you or vice versa, though she had never heard you play when you assumed you were alone.

the stress from her day's work slowly melted from her face with each press of the keys from your fingers. she admired how elegant you looked at this moment, how you seemed to be completely pulled into the music, so focused you hadn't yet recognized her presence.

the corners of her lips quirked up as you neared the end of the song, the part you knew was her favorite. subconsciously, you drew it out longer, causing her heart to swell within her chest.

once the song was over, the minute you turned around, you let out a soft gasp, nearly falling off the piano bench. "you scared me! how long were you there?" your voice was rushed, embarrassment clear on your face.

her arms were folded over her chest, a slight smirk on her lips. "nice to see you too. you play beautifully." she walks over to you, leaning down over where you sat.

the way you looked up at her so sweetly had her melting, tilting your chin up to kiss your forehead. "did you mean to draw that last part out, or did you forget how the song ends?" she teased as she leaned back up.

she relished in the way you turned away, ears heating up as you stood up from the bench. "ah, forget it! i'm all done! the piano is yours!" you huffed, stomping away, leaving her to chuckle dryly at your retreating form.

Answering for the Informant 🔍

➳ What is your main love language (or languages if you have more than one), and what are your f/o’s? How does that affect the way you show affection to one another in your daily life?

Seeker's love languages are acts of service and gift giving. Therefore she shows affection to the Informant mostly by helping him out or taking care of him when he needs it. As for the gifts, most of the time these are little things she found or made ; a flower crown, a pretty rock, a seashell, a drawing, etc. She always hopes it brightens up his day.

The Informant's love languages are quality time and physical touch. He is intent on spending time with Seeker when they are not working, and wants to make every minute count. It does not matter if they go on a coffee date or if they just lay down on a hill to watch the sky, as long as they are together and having a good time. He is also not someone who easily gets close to others, and so touching Seeker is first and foremost a sign that he trusts her and that her presence makes him comfortable.

➳ How public is your relationship, and who knows about it apart from the two of you? Do you like PDA or prefer to share affection in more private settings away from others?

In the beginnings of their relationship, Seeker and the Informant were only affectionate in private, and were very careful to not be seen in settings that could appear intimate, or seen entering each other's home and not leaving. For others, their relationship was mostly a rumour in the city, and only their closest friends / work partners knew about it. They then started to get more opened about it as time went on, and started displaying more affection in public, while staying a bit discreet.

i'd say the best way to go about it is to look amongst the small little things in everyday life that seem like.. Slightly out of the ordinary or seem significant in some way, especially if you are actively needing reassurance from them! how often it happens varies significantly, i've had silent periods for many months at a time, or sometimes like right now very talkative periods too, angel numbers n such are a big one for me but there's a lot of things to find in daily life they could be communicating with you through as well.

each angel is different in how they do so, so it can be difficult to determine/know precisely what to look for overall but i think it's just a very comforting feeling to know they Are there for you !! ^_^

warnings: fluff with suggestive themes at the end, reader is a cat hybrid, arle is taller than reader, kiss*ng and c*ddling 😳

you sneak into arlecchino's office, steps lighter than air on her dark wood floorboards. you tiptoed closer to her, where her back was currently turned to you, preoccupied with a hefty stack of documents all requiring her signature.

your tail waved back and forth in a gentle motion as you approached her, only to fluff out in surprise when she suddenly looked over her shoulder directly at you.

her blood red eyes found yours, tilting her head in a slightly amused fashion even if her face didn't reflect the same emotion.

"what are you doing, sweetheart?" she asked, turning her chair to face you.

your hands stayed behind your back, still obscuring your surprise for her behind you. "just...coming to check on you." but the rapid waving of your tail betrayed you. "okay, fine, i have a surprise for you." you sighed, revealing the little box.

it was wrapped in deep gray paper, tied with a red ribbon that nearly matched the hue of her irises. her eyebrow quirked up as she allowed you to come closer, handing her the box.

"you know i'm not one for surprises." she simply hummed as you scoffed, tail flicking to the side along with your ears flattening a bit.

"you'll like this one. just open it." you insist, and how could she refuse. you watch as she opens it hesitantly, untying the ribbon to remove the lid of the box.

her neutrality slowly fades into a softer look as she picks up the ring you've gifted her. it was a dark metal, fit perfectly for her ring finger. cool to the touch but not overly so with an elegant sheen to the material.

"this is beautiful...how much did this cost you?" she asked, slipping it on her right ring finger (as you intended).

"don't worry about that. i just wanted to surprise you." comes your quick reply, brushing her off. "you like it?"

"i do." she rewards you with a small smile, pushing her chair out to beckon you closer, scooping you up into her lap. you are able to sit on her comfortably given the height difference between the two of you, resting your chin on her shoulder as she rubs your back gently.

"that was very thoughtful of you." she speaks in a soft tone against your fluffy ears, feeling them flick against her cheek. your tail sways, landing against her thigh as you cuddle into her.

she uses a sharp-nailed hand to lift your chin, giving you a soft kiss as her other hand comes to pet your ears. she delights in the way you purr so easily for her, clearly content on her lap.

"such a good girl for me." she praises as she pulls away from your lips, kissing your forehead now. her hand slowly trails down your back, teasing your tail as it tries to escape her grasp.

when she wraps her fingers around the base of your tail, you jump, a soft gasp escaping your lips as she strokes the soft fur. "arlecchino-" you whimper, sounding rather breathy as she chuckles lowly.

"someone's getting all hot and bothered, hm?" her voice is downright sultry as she mumbles into your ear, kissing the fur before trailing her hand back up to your waist. she smirks at your suddenly needy whines and squirming on her lap, pondering if it would be more fun to leave you wanting or to completely ruin you now.

yes 100%, i have my own that has given me a bit of space since my wife entered my life, but they've been there with me through every difficult and terrifying moment of this life. i've posted about them in the past on here and still occasionally tag them in posts that remind me of them! their name is Leslie ^_^
