The mission had been so close to going terribly wrong. The HRA had decided to use humans to do their bidding, and between trying to make sure no one died that shouldn't have and fending off the hordes of possessed soldiers, the one person they were supposed to be defending ended up in danger. If it hadn't been for some quick thinking on Mitsutada's part— pretending to be the One-Eyed Dragon himself and drawing everyone's attention towards him— Date Masamune would have perished far too early.

Of course the tachi ended up paying the price for his reckless decision, though he seemed to not regret it at all, even after spending the last three days knocked out in repairs.

Ookurikara had finally finished the report for the sortie. It shouldn't have taken him this long but he spent far too much time agonizing over the details, wondering with every move they made what led them this close to failing, what led him this close to losing the one person he couldn't live without.

He finds Hana's door open, the saniwa staring into space and not noticing him entering the room until he places the papers on her desk.

"Kara-chan!" She looks at him in surprise. "…how's Mitsutada?" She asks softly.

"He just woke up a while ago." The first thing Mitsutada did upon waking up was attempt to sit up and kiss Ookurikara but he didn't get very far as the pain stopped him as soon as he got his head off the ground. Ookurikara (gently) pushed him back down and told him to rest. He isn't sure how much rest the eyepatched tachi is getting since Tsurumaru entered the room to check on him.

"Thank goodness." She sighs. He gets the feeling this is weighing as heavily on her as it has been on him. As captain of the first unit he should have done a better job getting the situation under control, but as their saniwa Hana must be feeling even more responsible. She won't even look him in the eye.

Ookurikara sighs, leaning over the desk and kissing Hana on the forehead.

"Kara-chan?!" Her face turns crimson and she brings a hand over her mouth.

"If you're doing something stupid like blaming yourself then stop." Like he had any right to say that.

"Does that really mean much coming from you?"

They knew each other too well.

I went to finally see Ookurikara after recovering from the summoning. I... I don't know the last time I felt so unsure after visiting a new touken danshi. He's quiet-- he doesn't say much at all-- but that's perfectly fine. You know me. I like the quiet. I just... I don't think he likes me.

I don't think it's reasonable to expect every sword I summon to love me, or even like me, really-- and certainly not immediately.

Maybe I should've taken another day or two before going to see him, maybe I'm still a little sensitive from the summon...

But he practically ignored me while I tried talking to him... Ah... I just feel awful about it. But it's not his fault. He just arrived. Literally only just came into this form of existence.

I should think of something to help him, maybe. Perhaps... Maybe if he doesn't like to talk much, he'll find it helpful to have something to write to instead? Much like I do you, my journal. I'll make a trip to the store this afternoon and pick one up for him.

Whether he uses it or not... I hope he will adjust well and be able to live here happily.

I made a new friend recently-- another saniwa, named Hana. She and I are somewhat kindred spirits, I think, personality-wise. She's been saniwa for several years now as well, far longer than I have by now, so I know she must have loads more experience than I do. But she's also a bit younger than me, and... I dunno, I can't help but feel like an older brother to her. Which is insane, I know-- I may be literally older (not even by all that much!), but I don't know that I really have what it takes. Which is a stupid thing to think considering I'm NOT her brother, and nobody is saying that I am-- I'm getting ahead of myself. It's not a bad thing. It's just a different kind of friendship, maybe. Is this how Saseki feels toward me? Perhaps. I'm an only child, so I can't really know. Either way, I just feel like if anything happened to her I'd feel compelled to step in, protect her, if I even could... Hopefully nothing like that would happen.

I just never thought I'd have friendships like this, like these. But I do now, and I know for sure that I don't want to lose them.

Yagen ... he cares. even if hes's annoying. Souza .. Souza-chan is the sweetest always never yells at me. Sada-chan is loud but he's fun. too happy sometimes but... sometimes we talk about our ol d masters together ... nobunaga was still the best but i can appreciate that he loved his master too. Oookurikara is real quiet. thought he didn't like me at first but he's just quiet.

Review Touken Ranbu Musical Mihotose no Komoriuta Part 2

Hello everyone. Fewh... it’s been a while since I posted review about 3rd Toumyu for the main performance. Well, writing a review like this really takes time for me, it’s little bit more difficult than when I wrote review for the main performance. Now, as I promised in previous post, I post review about the live performance and the songs in main performance, and the songs I review here are the live version, not recorded version. Thanks to @ishikawadesu​ for giving me the song list and adding the singer, it helps a lot. Well, like my previous post, I write the review just based on my own opinion, and I try to write the review objectively without including my fangirling side. Hahahaha.. And I can’t say that the song is good or not because it’s about our own taste, so I just say I like it or not. Hope you like it.

Musical M1. Nuide Misemashou - Sengo Muramasa

This is the opening song in this musical, Sengo’s arrival theme song. I think the melody is rocky enough and mixed with disco style. Oota Motohiro sing it very well. And.. OMG, I can’t stop laugh watching him! XD. Actually I don’t really like this type of song but Oota Motohiro’s voice is matched well with this song.

M2. Shouri no Gaika - Ishikirimaru, Tonbokiri, Sengo Muramasa, Monoyoshi Sadamune

The ‘Shitsujin’ song. IMO, this song sounds like an anime style song and so rocky. I don’t really like the solo part of each actors, because I think this type of song doesn’t really match with their voice, especially Yokota Ryuugi, his voice can’t reach the high note well. IMO, Tsubasa’s voice is more suitable for ballad type, because his voice is too soft for rock song. But, their harmonization is good and sounds so powerful.

M3. Touken Ranbu – Everyone

The main theme song of Toumyu. The vocal harmonization is better than previous musicals, but my favorite is still Team Sanjo ft. Kashuu version. Well, I prefer the Sanjou version because it’s the original song, and become the main theme song for Toumyu projects after the Trial Performance/Atsukashiyama Ibun.

M4. Ruriiro no Sora I - Monoyoshi Sadamune, M9. Ruriiro no Sora II – Ishikirimaru, M13. Ruriiro no Sora III - Everyone

Because these songs have the same title, so I review these at once. :3. I don’t like Monoyoshi version because of his voice, so weak. In Ishikirimaru version, I like it. Tsubasa’s voice sounds so fatherly in this song, really sounds like father sings the lullaby for his child. Ruriiro no Sora III is the ending song. The last one is my favorite part, the harmony is beautiful. When I listened to this song, I don’t know why, but I get the same feeling when I listened to Utakata no Komoriuta from Atsukashiyama Ibun. I like this song, this song is beautiful even though not as beautiful as Nagoritsuki from Atsukashiyama Ibun for me, hehehehe... XD.

M5. Kibou no Minamoto - Ishikirimaru, Tonbokiri, Monoyoshi Sadamune, M6. Kibou no Minamoto Reprise – Tonbokiri

Hmm.. I don’t know what to say about this song because it’s pretty short, but I think Tsubasa’s voice sounds better in this song, and his voice can reach the high note well. Spi sings this song well too.

M7. Atarayo no Kumo - Sengo Muramasa

When I listened to this song, well, sounds emotional. Oota Motohira sings this song well. His voice can reach the high note better than the others. And... Heh banci kaleng, lu ngapain pamer paha woi!! Paha lu masih kalah mulus ama paha Awataguchi! (-w-)/

M8. Kazaguruma I - Ishikirimaru, Sengo Muramasa, Tonbokiri, Ookurikara, M11. Kazaguruma II – Ishikirimaru

This is my favorite in this musical! XD. This song is beautiful and I like the harmony, sounds like Kalafina’s type of harmony, because I heard there are three different voice type/range. Hahahahaha... XD. I like Ishikirimaru’s solo part too, as I say before, Tsubasa’s voice sounds so fatherly and his voice is better in low note. XD

M10. Tada, Katsu Tame Ni – Tonbokiri

Tonbokiri’s battle theme song. This song is cool and Spi has good singing voice too, but for me, Spi’s voice doesn’t match well with this song, his voice is too soft for this type of song.

M12. Chikara ga Areba… - Ishikirimaru

If I had strength... OMG.. the saddest song in this musical.. T__T. Tsubasa puts his emotion in this song very well. Good job Tsubasa! Makes me got emotional when I listened to this song.

Live

Well, same with the previous musicals, after performing the main performance, the sword boys transform into an idol group... well, may be we can call them Bladesteel Boys parody of Backstreet Boys, I found this term from one of tumblr user but I forget the name.. hehehehe... XD

S1. Can you guess what? – Everyone

Yeah, the opening song of Blade Steel Boys’s live concert.. Hahahahaha.. XD. Because the sword boys had transform into an idol group, let’s dance together! XD. IMO, this song is in disco style but has rock tune. Yeah, I like this song, makes me wanna dance. Their harmony is good and powerful.

S2. Jackal – Everyone

Another disco style song. I like this song too, but honestly, for me this song sounds like K-pop style. I like Oota Motohiro’s solo part, well, his voice is the best in this song. And... the coreography, actually Sengo Muramasa’s part, is little bit... errr... I don’t really like it.. berasa liat banci kaleng beneran.. .__.

S3. Nameless Fighter - Nikkari Aoe, Ookurikara

Still disco style song.. :3 I like this song, but for me Araki Hirofumi’s voice and Zaiki Takuma’s voice doesn’t match well, their harmony is little bit messy. And the chorus I think it’s better if it was powerful because, for me, the chorus part is so weak. But for me, Araki Hirofumi’s vocal is better here than when he sang in Kuroshitsuji Musical (Araki was Lau’s actor in Kuroshitsuji Musical).

S4. Don’t worry, don’t worry - Ishikirimaru, Monoyoshi Sadamune

This is the cheerful song and sounds like a children song. I don’t know why, but I think this song has the same atmosphere with Takaramono and EOEOA song from Toumyu Trial/Atsukashiyama Ibun. I like this song but I don’t like Yokota Ryogi’s vocal, and Tsubasa’s voice doesn’t match well with this song.

S5. Real Love – Tonbokiri

Hmmm... first time I listened to this song, I feel nostalgic. For me, this style of song is like 90’s boyband style such as Westlife, Backstreet Boys, N’Sync, etc *ketahuan dah tuir*. And Spi’s voice really matches with this song very well, hahahahaha.. yeah, his voice reminds me to those boyband.. XD. Well, no wonder because he’s not pure Japanese, even his real name is like a duke I think, William Worthington Spearman IV,.. hahahahaha.. XD

S6. Yuuyami - Everyone

The most calm song in this live performance. The sword boys appear from the middle of the audiences. In this song, I can heard that they a bit tired because their vocal weakened and the harmony is quite messy, but they had to keep perform till the end. I don’t really like this song, and I fall asleep easily when I listened to this song.. haha.. XD

S7. Kanki no Hana - Everyone

The Otokomichi song! Hahahaha.. XD. Well, like the previous musicals, there is taiko performance before the otokomichi part. And, of course the sword boys take their clothes off.. hahahahahaha.. pamer roti sobek euy.. XD, and OMG, Araki’s back is so flawless! XD. But, for me, Kitazono Ryo/Kogitsunemaru is still the hottest and the sexiest.. hahahaha.. XD.

Well, I like this song too, but Otokomichi is still my favorite. This song is not as powerful as Otokomichi, and in the middle intro, it sounds weird because the music is like Middle East music style, and the choreography is like they do purifying ritual *mungkin habis belajar ruqyah sama papa Ishi*. For the coreography, for me, Otokomichi Atsukashiyama version is the best and the manliest. XD

Yeah, that’s all my thought about the songs in this musical. Overall, it’s better than previous musicals. Well, for the outfit, my favorite is Nikkari’s and Ishikrimaru’s outfit. When I look at Monoyoshi’s outfit, well, I think I look Finnian wearing Ciel’s clothes.. haha.. Monoyoshi really looks like Finnian for me + his cheerful personality too.. XD.

Yeah, that’s all I can say for this musical. Sorry for my bad English. Critic and suggestion are welcome. ^_^.

hi sorry to ask but the kemonomichi/never give up song in srs2017 is a new one they made for srs2017 like the opening song? or is it something like Kanki no Hana/otokomichi that they sing in the Live part of every musical? thank you ^^

As far as I know, Kemonomichi is new song made specially for Shinken Ranbusai 2017. It’s not an opening song nor Taiko song.

And if you watch the swords sang in the song, it’s Mikazuki Munechika, Kashuu Kiyomitsu, and Ookurikara. All three of them are representations from 3 different musicals.

Sorry I couldn’t say better with words, but long story short, Kemonomichi is a new song specially made for Shinken Ranbusai 2017.

I better hope you’ve seen the musical, otherwise the answers probably aren’t going to make any sense. Aside from that, I only have official titles of a couple of songs, so... that’s also complicating things a bit.

Anyway, let’s move on! Honestly, I’m not good at top 3s... I usually have a favorite song, mayb a second favorite, but everything after that I usually enjoy about the same. So, trying to come up with a third choice is going to be interesting.

2019 me had decided to spawn the thought of ookurikara having a crush on azuki (we aren't going to talk about this being from a zombie apocalypse au) and somehow i completely forgot about that until now.

also. jikkyuu. i had been waiting for koyasu to voice a sword since i started playing the game in 2016. so. yeah.

While most of the toudans refer to Hana as 'Aruji' and the like, a few of her swords just call her by her name.

Ookurikara and Yamanbagiri call her Hana

Mitsutada and Sada (and sometimes Buzen) call her Hana-chan

Tsurumaru calls her Hana-bou

This wasn't always the case, but after a couple of years of being a saniwa, it just kind of happened. Hana also used to call everyone with -san but she eventually ended up dropping it for the toudans she was closer to. 'Sada-chan' was expected but the first time she accidentally said 'Kara-chan' she couldn't look Ookurikara in the eye for a week. The name stuck anyways.

11. how comfortable is your muse with their appearance and their body?

This isn't something he thinks about very often. While the rest of the Date swords are preoccupied with their appearances in one way or another, Ookurikara doesn't really care. He'll make himself presentable, sure, but aside from that he doesn't put any extra effort into it.

As for body image, again, something he doesn't usually think about. Though there are times where a few more centimeters in height would be useful, and from a practical standpoint being able to put on more muscle would be a plus. He isn't as slender as Tsurumaru but his frame is a little closer to the crane tachi than say, Mitsutada.

And while he has nothing against the tattoo on his arm, he wasn't exactly fond of being stared at constantly when he first manifested. Not that it's an issue anymore, save for when a new sword joins the citadel.

17. what are some of the signs that your muse shows their care/love without saying they love/care about their partner?

If Ookurikara cares about someone he tries to help them out when he can (so long as it doesn't involve too much interacting with others). And as much as he tends to be reserved in public, he becomes more open to physical affection when they have some privacy and may even get kind of clingy.

23. would your muse be good at recognizing their partner’s needs right away, or would it take some time?

It would depend on the situation, but Ookurikara is rather observant and can usually figure out if something is bothering them.

Though while he expects his partner to understand his need for space, if his partner is the one needing space he tends to have the misconception that something he did is setting his partner off.

5. what is your muse’s ideal first date?

Hana has never been on a date in her life but if she were to go on one, she would want it to be something like going out for lunch or a walk in the park. Something where she can get to know her partner better but also just hang out. She doesn't do well with crowds and rides so an amusement park probably wouldn't suit her, and if they went to watch a movie she would probably get too invested in the movie and forget that it's supposed to be a date.

13. what traits does your muse value in a romantic partner?

Above all, kindness. Someone she can lean on, who would comfort her when she feels down. Hana gets upset pretty easily and she seems to think that no one would want to put up with someone like that.

When it comes to interacting with other swords at the citadel Ookurikara doesn't mind as much if he comes off as distant but with his fellow Date swords he feels like he should do better.

As for Hana she is in a constant state of "did I just say the wrong thing" and "am I inconveniencing someone"
