Ontario Votes
Hey Ontario! There’s an election on Thursday February 27th. That’s tomorrow. You need to vote.
If you received a voter information card in the mail:
Your voter card will have your voting location and poll number on it. You need to bring your voter card and one other piece of ID. There’s a list of ID you can use HERE (français).
(You don't need photo ID, and you don't need to provide any information about your gender.)
If you did not receive a voter information card, or you’ve lost it, or you forget to bring it to the polling place:
You can absolutely still vote. You can find your voting location HERE (français).
You will need to bring a piece of ID that has both your name and your address on it. Proof of address is important because the staff need to know you’re voting in the right district. There’s a list of ID you can use HERE (français).
The polls are open from 9AM to 9PM. Voting is quick and usually simple. What time they’re busy depends on what your neighbourhood is like.
Information for voters with disabilities is HERE (français). If you have feedback on accessibility, there will be forms you can fill out at your polling station.
Elections Ontario does not call voters - if someone called or texted you to say the time or location has changed, that’s fraud. Check the website for accurate information.
If you got a mail-in ballot and you have not sent it yet, drop it off in person at your local returning office (français) anytime before 6pm.
More information here. Plus d'informations ici. Other languages here.
EVERYONE GO VOTE.

For my fellow Ontarians (and if you're not from Ontario, please pass around for visibility):
PLEASE VOTE. You don't need your voting card, with the current mess-ups you may not even get it in time for the election. But you have the right to vote and have your voice heard. Bring a piece of government issued ID, and if it does not show your current address, bring something that has it (e.g. hydro bill). You can find out where you can vote here:
This election was called unexpectedly because the current government did not want to give the other parties time to prepare, because our country has been gearing up for a Federal election, not a Provincial one. Even Elections Ontario wasn't fully prepared, which is why there's mess-ups getting people voting cards. They knew we as a people were distracted and called a snap election to take advantage of that.
I won't tell you who to vote for, just go do it - it's the one way we're all guaranteed a voice, a say, in some small way, and it's a great "fuck you" to those who called this election in the hopes that everyone will be too distracted to show up.
With the BS coming from the administration to the South, voting is more important now than ever.

Hi guys! I know this is Tumblr but I'm talking about Canadian/Ontarian politics today.
We so often talk about America on this website, with this website and a lot of social media being inherently American centric. It bleeds into our thoughts and identities and also our countries politics.
I'm doxing myself here - I am Canadian, I am Ontarian and we talk about Trump and America all the time. It's part of having them as a neighbour. Our current Premier of Ontario said he was "happy Trump won, until the tariff threats started." After seven years of Doug Ford, we are all sick and tired of ever increasing grocery prices, healthcare waits, and rent prices. We are sick and tired of scandal after scandal with little to no actual fallout or change.
Tomorrow is Voting Day in Ontario -> tomorrow, Thursday February 27th is Voting Day in Ontario. Our last election turn out in 2022 set a record for being the lowest voter turnout in Ontarian history, at 44.07%. We can do better. We can vote Ford out.
I want him gone, I don't want someone who was happy Trump won. I don't want someone who is happy to give money to his millionaire friends all the while defunding public services like healthcare, and closing safe injection sites while people die on our streets. I am tired, sick and angry about our provincial leadership and we need better.
If you haven't voted early, please make your plan to vote tomorrow. Please vote Ford out. If you are an Ontario resident, please please please go vote tomorrow. It is important to my future and yours.

Ontario Election Advance Voting
The Ontario provincial election is Thursday, February 27th. But if you’re busy then, you can vote in advance!
The last day to apply to vote by mail in Ontario is Friday February 21st (traductions françaises disponibles). The deadline is 6pm. Postage is free within Canada.
The in-person advance polls are open 10 AM to 8 PM from February 20 to 22 (Thursday, Friday, Saturday). You can also vote in person at your local returning office until February 26th. You can find your local voting locations HERE.
If you have applied to vote by mail you cannot change your mind and vote in person on election day. The mail in ballot process is explained in a short PDF here or a video here (français).
Elections Ontario must receive your ballot by 6pm on election day. That’s February 27th. If you haven’t mailed it before Monday, go drop it off at your local returning office.
Your voting kit will come with paperwork. If you make a mistake in voting by mail, no one can tell you about it and help you fix it in time. READ AND FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS IN YOUR VOTING KIT.
And if you’re voting in person and you’re not 100% sure how to do it, ask the election officials. Helping you vote is literally their job.
If you want to register to vote before election day you can do that HERE. (But even if you aren’t registered, you CAN still vote.)

GO VOTE ONTARIO!!
Voter attendance for the last election was awful, less than 45% of eligible voters exercised their right to vote, and that's what Doug Ford is counting on so he can stay in office!! Even if you've never voted before or think that it's pointless, please just go anyway! It's incredibly easy to do! Just bring one piece of ID that has your address on it (like your health card or drivers licence) and if you don't have ID that has your address you can bring any official mail that does, like bank statements, T4 slips, government mail, or anything like that. You do NOT need a voter card! You do NOT need to register in advance!
If you're unsure of your electoral district, go here to find out where to vote, and if you want to help us have a better chance to vote out Doug Ford, go to smartvoting.ca and enter your electoral district to see what party has the better chance of beating the conservatives!
My partner and I both voted early, but now the only chance to cast your vote is on the 27th! This is so important, especially because only 6% of eligible voters cast their vote during the early voting period!
Remember, you have a legal right to vote, even if you're at work. Your job is REQUIRED to let you leave so you can cast your vote! Ontario can't handle another 5 years of Doug Ford's leadership, voting him out will help save the healthcare system from becoming even more privatized, help save the post secondary education system, and help alleviate the housing crisis!! VOTE SMART! VOTE OUT FORD! GO VOTE!!!

I am scared for my Michigan family. Having to place more stress on the US electric grid will make things pricey and unreliable during the coldest parts of Michigan winters.
