While she isn’t against asking the Harbingers to get you under control, she prefers to handle you herself. The Tsaritsa knew what kind of responsibilities she’d be taking on when deciding she wanted you, and thus she tries to avoid relying on them. At first, she tried to mitigate any negative feelings between you and her Harbingers by having you attend meetings with her, Fatui-related events, and other such things, but she has quickly learned it’s better to leave you in your shared bedroom and deal with any attitude when she returns home. 

During times when she has to be away from Zapolyarny palace or outside of Snezhnaya and can’t bring you, she’ll task one of her dear Harbingers with your care. It’s usually Pantalone or Capitano, Pierro is generally too busy, Pucinella is too easy on you, and the others have quirks of their own that she doesn’t hold high faith in. 

Long, slim fingers brush through the strands of your hair, tucking back any loose pieces and fixing the parting as she mulls over a thought in her mind. The Tsaritsa knows she has only another hour or so with you before she has to set off again, leaving you in the capable hands of her dear Harbinger Capitano. She hasn’t yet broken the news to you, knowing you’ll pitch a fit that is better dealt with by giving you space to lash out. She’d chosen Capitano this time specifically because you’d been extra testy lately, plotting escapes and trying to fight some of the lower-ranked guards posted outside your door. The large man could take quite a beating and she was hoping he’d be up for the challenge of your care. “My sweet Snowball, I’ve neglected to inform you until this point, but I have to leave Snezhnaya for some time. A minor god has appeared in a nearby nation and sparked trouble, Celestia has requested I step in to assist in handling them.” Her fingers pause in your hair for a moment before pulling away, allowing you a moment to process what she has told you. 

As much as she hates to do it, she often lies to you about where she’s going or why she has to be out of Snezhnaya. The Tsaritsa knows of your dislike for the Fatui and their motives, but she cannot simply halt her plan because you are heartbroken over it. Thus, she often will tell you false information, playing the part of the darling Archon that Celestia expects of her, but only in front of you.

Really, she rarely leaves Snezhnaya, often traveling to different parts of her nation to handle difficult tasks that the calloused hands of her Harbingers are not capable of. She has on occasion ventured out of the controlled walls of her nation, daring to visit neighboring ones in search of valuable items or materials, but she prefers to stay in Snezhnaya. While she may be powerful and well capable of defending herself, she sleeps easier at night knowing that you are within the same nation as her.

Ooo, how do all the boys react to baby’s nest the first time? Are there some who have a complete pass to go in and out of it as they please? Are there some members who have to or choose to still ask if they can?

I figure Chan probably tends to ask every time just to be sure, he kinda makes all of the alphas ask esp since a nest is so important to omegas. I feel like maybe some of the betas have a full pass for it since baby knows they won’t mess it up or add/remove anything (even accidentally)

I had this somewhat angsty thought that when baby gets truly upset she goes to her nest bc she knows none of the boys would violate that space. Like maybe one day Chan says something that kinda sets her off, he didn’t mean it tho, and she storms off to her nest to be away from everyone and to calm down as best she can bc everyone else is out of the house so there’s no one for her to go and hide behind or with. Chan follows her to her nest and he’s so used to being let in he almost goes in after her but he hears her growl at him for the first time and he almost looks like he’s about to fall off a cliff the way he stops in his tracks, knowing it’s super invasive especially since he’s the pack alpha, still breaks his heart tho not being let in, but decides to sit outside the nest, pumping out calming pheromones as she sniffles and tries to calm down. He keeps asking if he can be let in when they make eye contact by just looking at the little divot where they all normally crawl in and she just doesn’t answer. Eventually she nods a little bit and he hops in so quickly he almost knocks some stuff over in it and oh boy would that be a lot to deal with right now. But then he gets to comfort her fully and stuff.

But I imagine how h e a r t b r e a k i n g it must be for some of them the first time baby doesn’t allow them in the nest or how nerve wrecking it is the first time they try to enter it, cause while she wants their approval of the nest they need hers just as much.

Ugh imagine if one of them says something that comes off a bit wrong or if they say it too slowly and baby just gets upset bc she doesn’t think her nest is good enough.

I need your pretty head to elaborate on some of this p l e a s e. Thank you babes.

Baby's nest is so important! I feel like she's been secretly taking little things from around the house that smell like the boys and stashes them in her room. It starts with things from common areas - like a throw pillow that changbin loves to nap with, or the blanket hyunjin uses during movie nights.

Then it would turn into baby taking things from their laundry baskets. She'd steal shirts and cotton shorts and anything soft really. Oh but then she needs more and starts going into their rooms and taking their pillows and sheets and stuffies. It would all go straight to her nest where whenever she's alone she goes and readjusts and snuggles within the huge scent pile.

I think she would be pretty lenient with all the boys- especially the softer of the betas *cough cough* felix han and hyunjin*cough* and they are all generally allowed in whenever they want and omega is present. She would not stand for a member being in her nest without her also there to make sure they don't fuck with it! Her nest is one of the only things she gets truly upset or territorial over so they better take it seriously

On the days leading up to her heat (or on days she's just feeling emotional and mean) she would deny everyone access unless they could provide a fully scented item that meets her standards to add to the nest 😤only then would they be allowed entry. and absolutely NO EATING IN THE NEST! baby almost bit innies head off for sneaking in some chips and he wasn't allowed back in for days 😢

honestly i think you kinda nailed that situation with channie. He would literally be so devastated if his normally sweet and gently omega denied him entry and growled at him?! nothing in his entire life would ever make him feel so terribly. he'd pace around in front of the open door, stopping every few seconds to see if she had changed her mind but every time he just sees the blazing glare staring back at him, inferno crossing over her eyes. eventually he grows desperate and starts trying to appeal to baby in other ways. he'll sit out there for hours, singing her favorite songs and reminiscing on how much fun that thing they did the other day was. really he's trying to remind her of happier times and pray she take mercy on him.

eventually baby can't take seeing her mate so distressed and she gives in, mumbling in the quietest voice ever that he can come in,,, if he promises to behave 🥴and brings her another stuffy to add to the nest

So I've been rereading skip beat from the beginning for the first time in uhhhhh almost 10 years and I'm going inSaNE over characterizations and development that I have to write it down

At this point I'm only at the Heel siblings arc so I haven't gotten to the Guam or Saena arcs which are very big for Kyoko and Ren's character development and healing which I haven't reread since those chapters came out

Can we just take a moment to appreciate Nakamura for basing Kyoko and Ren's childhood struggles and trauma on very real things that aren't often, if at all, dealt with in anime/manga and also writing them with utmost care (Not only do the traumas inform their personalities, but their healing arcs aren't just a one and done thing!! It's a very slow process) Like starting with Kyoko, her single mother neglected her so much that she was raised by a family friend. On top of that, nothing Kyoko did was ever good enough for her mother, and both of these things are so apparent in Kyoko's character. She attaches herself to fairytales and magic as an escapism and because she relates to stories like Cinderella. She literally cannot function if she messes up and no one criticizes her. She can't properly acknowledge her own talents and beauty without it being attached somehow to fairytales; she never quite believes shes good enough. Similarly, she didn't want to bother anyone with her troubles, so she always dealt with them alone/in private spaces. Pretty sure she also has lowkey abandonment issues. And this is all parental trauma!! Things she already has before the series starts and she gets so utterly heartbroken she swears off romantic love entirely so she can never get hurt the same way again.

(I don't think I'll ever get over how Kyoko told all this to Kuu and he was literally like I'm adopting you. Your mine now. Sorry I don't make the rules ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ And Kuu going home to his wife like hey we got a new kid 😂 Like Kyoko freezing up when she made mistakes and then Kuu showing her love instead of reprimanding her makes me go 🥹😩💖✨😭💝 Kyoko getting all fluffy from head pats🥹🥹 But on the downside she literally can't bring herself to call him dad unless she's in acting mode sjdfhsf)

When I really consider it, I wonder if Kyoko really loved Sho as a person or like.... the idea of him. Like he was just a convenient guy via proximity bc Kyoko needed someone to be her "prince". We haven't been shown exactly why she fell in love, but it would explain why she stuck with dedicating herself to him despite his terrible personality and knowing he never saw her the same way. It's portrayed like the concept of hatsukoi in anime where its ✨pure✨and innocent✨It seems very idealistic. Whereas Kyoko's love for Ren is more mature. She sees every aspect of Ren and doesn't sugarcoat it, she sees him as he is (she does him up on a pedestal but partially bc she admires him but also as an extreme measure to protect her heart and hide her feelings imo)

And REN. trauma to the max. He had to deal with the hardships of making a name for himself when his parents are already famous, extreme racism from being biracial, his friend/mentor dying from an accident he unintentionally caused???? Like boy hates himself so much he's literally disassociating 24/7 he needs a fucking therapist. I get how being Ren has helped him in some capacity but he needs a professional asap. Though deep diving into this is so interesting because Ren/Kuon compartmentalized his issues and the parts that he hates about himself so much he created its own persona ("Dark Kuon"), to the point he's rarely ever just himself. And he buried it so deep that as soon as he cracked the lid open, those emotions just spilled out. He can't even allow himself to be happy, and when he does feel truly happy, his automatic response is acting nonchalant,,,,,,,,,,,, he didn't even realize he was doing it at first 😢

Also the symbolism with Ren's watch makes me go a little feral. I don't remember if it's originally his or Rick's but it obviously stopped when the latter died and Ren keeps it as a reminder of what happened and why he went to Japan. It's a weird item since it grounds him but also represents his heavy trauma, and I think having those two things in one kinda showcases Ren's unhealthy coping mechanisms (like grounding himself to something traumatic isn't... great...). But that scene where he realizes he took it off and he has a moment of whether it to keep it on as Cain Heel or not??? *clenches fist* it was so good. (To recap it, he had his watch so he wouldn't lose himself in the role of BJ and then forgot it in the bathroom after an unexpected trauma response) Ren narrates his thoughts as choosing between Rick or Kyoko but interpreting this, he's choosing whether to keep himself stuck in his past trauma or move forward and let himself be happy AKA stick with unhealthy coping mechanisms vs try something healthy and rely on people he trusts. Kyoko essentially becomes someone Ren grounds himself to 🥺 He still needs therapy though lmao. He's so mentally unstable in this arc,,,

As I'm writing this I'm seeing a parallel between Kyoko and Ren and how they both had an experience that completely and utterly broke them, and it was this that pushed them onto their current paths in showbiz. And they likely would never have met each other again if those things never happened (they had to lose themselves to find each other?? 😭). It's so funny to me that Ren is all like ThEiR fAtEs ArE iNtErTwInEd with Kyoko and Sho when you have to consider the fact that him and Kyoko meeting again was like. a chance in a billion. It was fate 😂

KyoRen is such a poetic ship to me. The fact that they're different people when they meet and don't recognize the other. How Ren starts falling in love AS SOON AS HE REALIZES KYOKO IS THE SAME GIRL HE MET (Ren being gray/demiromantic.... more at 5). Kyoko lowkey starting to crush on Ren when she witnesses a bit of his real personality. These two things happening around the same time??????? And Ren being SO afraid of being Kuon, his true self, because of his bad qualities, but Kyoko pulling out the good qualities without him fully realizing it?? (I'm 100% referring to Kuon being a mischievous little shit and I live for how he teases Kyoko) tbh they treat each other differently from other people without even realizing it lol. And Kyoko being surrounded by toxic and possessive men pursuing her, and Ren being anything BUT. Like my man is a gigantic green flag. He recognizes that he can't seriously pursue Kyoko bc she's a minor and he really tries his best to only be a friend and mentor in her life and keeping her trust and never crossing her boundaries despite the stereotypes of men being "unable to control themselves." Y'all take point this should be the standard at minimum☝️

I have to talk about Sho bc this boy is so fucking toxic but he makes such a fascinating character. As much as I hate how Kyoko got heartbroken in the way she did, I think it was necessary so that she could leave Sho's sorry ass and cut him out of her life. Seriously,,,, he took advantage of her and used her as a servant. she literally dropped out of school, moved to a different city, and took on two jobs for the sole purpose of helping his career and then he threw her away like a used rag (JUST THROW THE WHOLE MAN AWAY). And then he has the audacity to fall in love with her smh. Anyway the fascinating part about him to analyze is how he's so possessive of Kyoko. Like she was a mere fly in his life, but she was always his. Until she wasn't. And I think those twisted thoughts kinda morphed into feelings for Kyoko. Ig in a way he still cares about her, but it could never hide how toxic he is. Anyone who's like I don't care how this person thinks of me as long as I take up the biggest space in their heart is egotistical and narcissistic. BUT he and Kyoko bickering like siblings will always be funny. Like epitome of two people who've lived with each other for way too long so they know how the other ticks and also get on each other's nerves 😂😂Sho does makes a good foil for Ren though. Like he's basically everything Ren is not: immature, temperamental, possessive, vain, the list goes on. His only redeeming qualities as a character is providing good drama and humor and being an example of what Ren isn't.

Skip Beat is really a story about healing and learning to love yourself and letting others love you and Nakamura is such a good story teller 🥺

You do not like going over to Tanjiro’s house at all.

Not that it was his house or anything about him. He’s such a sweetheart and always does his best to accommodate for you, and his house was really nice as well. Always super clean and everything was super organized as well. The only downside was the stupid dog that terrorized every person place or thing it came in contact with.

Everywhere it went it had way to much energy for almost any human, except tanjiro at least. It was much too big for its own good and still thought it was a lap dog at his big size. Super touchy as well always rolling around or trying to persuade somebody into petting it. Much to big, much to fur, much to friendly for your liking. Worse of all, that dog went everywhere with Tanjiro. It was pretty much his child at this point.

If you saw Tanjiro walking down the street near your house? He’s walking the dog. Going to the store? He’s buying something for his dog, and if they allow it the dog coming inside with him. Eating something? The dog has a designated seat at the table to eat with him to. Tanjiro is nearby? His dog is nearby to. The little parasiteー in your words would never go away.

Not to say you didn’t like animals or pets, you adored them to an extent. Especially cats. The much better pet option far superior than any dog could be that cat you had would beat Tanjiro dog for miles at anything. The little feline was so docile, couldn’t do anything wrong. Even Tanjiro enjoyed your cats presence, although he still tried to persuade you to give his dog a chance.

“I promise you he’s really not that bad, he’s just super friendly can you blame him?” Tanjiro ask while following you into the kitchen while you go prepare yourself a snack. “I really can blame him.” you reply without a second thought as your eyes drift back into Tanjiro. “Dogs are just.. ew nothing good about them.” The boy sighs while grabbing something for himself. “C’mon he doesn’t even bite.. he’s so nice!”

He’s really trying his hardest to get you to connect with his dog. He knows you’ve never been a fan of any dogs specifically, and maybe his just is a breed you hate more than others. He still has some hope for you, you gotta at least warm up to the idea of it! Besides his dog already loves you anyways you gotta show some love back right?

On your side of the story nothing Tanjiro could really say would sway your opinion. You’ve seen that dog and you seen how big it is and that’s already one to many signs for you. You have a witness and somebody else on your side at the same time! Tanjiro’s little sister, Nezuko. She’s even told you some of the problems with the dog they own! “Very big, very friendly to! To friendly sometimes..” is what she says and that’s all the evidence you needed. Though she does still take Tanjiro side most of the time.

The boy only sighs once again before an idea comes into his mind. He turns to look at you once more before shuffling beside you, Your cat trailing behind him. He stares up at you biting back a smile that would reveal his intentions. “Could you at least come over this weekend? My dog is going to be gone for two weeks for training, unfortunately..” he says, trailing off on the last part to grab your attention. You only turn your head once you hear the words “dog” and “gone” leave his lips.

You blink for a moment before a smile appears on your lips at his idea. “Sure, but only because the dog isn’t here alright.” you announced as a big grin is plastered on Tanjiro’s lips as his excitement comes to a peak. His arms wrap around you bringing you into a hug as you hug him back. Laughing at how much excitement he was showing.

It’s to late when you realize he was lying to you completely.

The weekend rolls around and you stand Infront of Tanjiro door. It’s a breath of fresh air being able to visit him once again. You knock on his door and can hear his footsteps coming down the stairs. The door swings open as Tanjiro invites you inside and you’re quick to step in. You almost forgot how nice his house looked after being away for so long, it was nice to enjoy seeing it again. Taking off your shoes you give Tanjiro a hug as he shows up all the new decoration he’s put in his living room.

You stare at everything as you admire the room. Almost missing Tanjiro’s words as he mutters a quick “be right back!” before disappearing somewhere inside of his house. You only continue looking knowing he’ll be back in a moment, staring at all the new pictures framed around the room and on the wall. You’re not fazed by the pitter patter of footsteps coming down from the stairs as you simply sit yourself back on the couch assuming it was Tanjiro.

To your dismay, it was not Tanjiro.

You only look up from a second when you don’t hear him walk over to the couch. Your eyes drift up only to see a patch of fur, and to your horror it’s his dog standing in the living room. You look at it for a long time, and it stares back at you for a long time. The dog is the first one to break eye contact and look away into the kitchen as you take the chance to look away as well. Maybe Tanjiro did bring it to training and it will just walk away. Maybe it can sense your “I don’t want you near me at all” energy and walk away from you. Just maybe.

The dog doesn’t follow any of your theories one bit as it soon charges at you. Jumping onto the couch and nearly onto your lap if you didn’t stand up quick enough. Irritation quickly creeps up to your throat as you’re only able to yell out “TANJIRO!” To hear him snickering around the corner. His dog doesn’t make it any better as it rubs and circles around your leg.

Well, you won’t be coming back to his house anytime soon.

During the months as your stomach swells, you're trying (and failing) to knit little booties and a hat for your child.

Sebastian is quite good with his hands (in more ways then one 😏) so he's making the baby's crib by hand.

When you guys are in bed getting ready to sleep, Sebastian has his hands on your belly. He gets so excited when the baby kicks.

Sometimes when the baby is too restless and won't let you sleep with all the kicking, Sebastian's hand gently rubs it, trying to sooth them.

"Alright little one, I know you're excited to explore the world outside your mother's womb but you need to let her sleep. So stop moving about and sleep you little troublemaker."

He also like kissing your belly just cuz he can.

During your final month, he gets time off so that when the time comes, he's ready to wisk you off to the hospital.

So, the time comes. Sebastian is anything but calm.

"WHERE'S MY WAND?! I CAN'T FIND MY WAND TO APPARATE US TO THE HOSPITAL!!!"

"It's in your hand darling. Now take me to the hospital before I pop this child out on our kitchen floor."

Unfortunately, back in those days, father's weren't allowed in the delivery room. So all he can do is pace outside, panicking whenever you let out a scream of pain.

My poor boy is literally having flashbacks to when he had to use the Cruciatis Curse on you.

Your friends show up to give the poor man support, and to see the baby. Or hear in Ominis's case.

Ominis is patting Sebastian on the shoulder gently.

After about five hours, the midwife comes out to sat that Sebastian can see his wife and daughter.

Man literally jumps up and rushes into the delivery room.

Once he gets inside, he sees you looking exhausted with your hair messy and sweat on your forehead.

With your little bundle of joy held to your chest.

Sebastian is once again crying like he did on your wedding day.

When your friends are coming in one by one, he's presenting your daughter this way, every time;

"Behold! The Snadger! The product of a snake (him) and a badger (you)!"

"Sebastian, stop calling our daughter that or you're not going to get the chance to put another child in me."

You both decided to name her Anne Lilian Sallow.

She has your hair and skin tone while she has Sebastian's eyes. Only time will tell what other features she'll gain from her parents over time.

I'll probably make a sequel to this with early parenthood headcannons. This was originally just gonna be marriage headcannons but then the saga of pregnancy came up so it changed.

After the epic and emotionally packed previous episode focusing on Yor, things are a little lighter this week, with the focus being on funny Anya antics, plus some Twilight spy action on the side! The key visual for today's episode is fantastic - they all had a role in saving the day!

The scene where Anya attempts to dramatically throw Yor's stiletto, only for it to drop unceremoniously onto the deck, always cracked me up in the manga 🤣 The music in the anime scene didn't make the humor come across as well as I'd hoped (silence would have made it better) but it's fine, lol. The part where the guy tripped on the stiletto was still funny!

And of course, the scene where Anya tells the officer about the bomb 😂 I'm gonna say she brought that disguise with her on the trip for just such an occasion! (also very convenient that Anya was the only kid at the daycare...if there were other kids, the lady wouldn't have been able to leave them to look for her 😅 It was late at night so not a popular time for parents to drop off their kids I guess? Also love how the lady misinterprets Anya's comment about the bomb as her needing to take a big dump 🤣)

After the comedy and suspense, the episode wraps up on a bittersweet note with Yor saying goodbye to Olka and Gram. I love that, despite the fact that Olka repeatedly pointed out to Yor that her family is just for show, she wishes that Yor and her family can find peace...yeah, she definitely knows that the underworld life doesn't suit Yor and she loves her family, even if she herself doesn't realize exactly how much.

We also (finally) get to see a slightly softer side of McMahon. He's been totally serious and unemotional the whole time, even more unwavering about his mission than Twilight. So it's nice that he allows Yor to spend time with Loid and Anya (right after he tells her that they're nothing but foot soldiers...does he really feel that way deep down? 🤨) I also wonder if the big bad Hapoon that they keep talking about will ever make an appearance.

The anime added some additional scenes in the episode's conclusion, which I adored! ❤️ Really great for setting up the next episode (though seeing Yor alone in her room tending her own wounds made me kinda sad 😢 It's okay, she'll get to be with her family soon!)

In addition to Yor's epiphany chapter, the other chapter I was really looking forward to seeing in the anime is chapter 56, in next week's episode! Can't wait 😭

Spy x Family Episode 27 thoughts!

We start with something very relatable

I love how the family just lets Bond lie on the couch. He takes up the entire space with how massive he is, and yet they allow him that. I love it.

I pretty much immediately read the respective manga chapter of this after I was done, and I've gotta say, before that I was very confused with what Bond was imagining. I don't think that the anime showed clearly what was going on.

Instead, I actually understood it when I read the manga, which made it pretty clear that he was confused by seeing only black in his vision, and then was trying to come up with ideas why this would happen.

Even as I rewatch the episode, I still think it wasn't made clear in the anime.

I love, however, how Bond could imagine that, for whatever reason, Yor would blindfold him in order to surprise him with something. And the way she would lead him there is adorable XD

A lot of adorableness in this episode in general, but then you hit right in the drama.

Like any research facility escapee, Bond fears he'll be found by the people who experimented on him and will be immediately executed. But...

THIS REALLY HAD NO BUSINESS BEING THIS FUNNY. Bond was right there getting traumatized and fearing for his life and I was actually laughing my ass off. The little butt-naked angels! Bond having a halo over his head! The drama of it all! I love it XD

Then I nearly damn cried when he went to look at the family pictures and THE FAMILY THEME PLAYED. MA BOI JUST WANTS A FAMILY 😭😭

I also love how he imagined Loid saying he lived happily. Bond has indeed found a place that makes him feel loved and safe and happy, and he knows that the family knows that. And the way he imagined Loid tearing up for him and understanding what a positive influence this family was on him is very important; Bond's mind may be simple than his human family's, but maybe exactly because of that he sees past the façades and the lies, and into his humans' souls.

And then he just resorts to the fact that he will die, and wants to go say goodbye 😢

I just realized that Bond understands Anya can read his mind! And only Anya. I don't know why it took me so long. Perhaps I had understood it but it never registered, lol

Unless it was a new moon that day, it's amazing how focused Anya was on studying. Here was Bond with a face that practically said "Do the cool thing and read my mind!" and Anya was like "Nope. Homework." I immediately imagined it was a new moon day and she actually couldn't read his mind, but it may be a safe assumption that she's learning to control her power? Idk.

But then Bond sees that Yor will make an absolute horror of a dinner for him.

How is she so out of it that she doesn't realize the monstrosities she's creating. I love her.

I'm still trying to piece things together, though. There's a clear difference in visual between reality, vision, and Bond's imagination.

Bond thinks that he'll die by eating Yor's food; it's not a certain future.

This doesn't explain the black in Bond's vision, though. It could be a red herring, idk.

In any case, he takes Anya's words from their first days together very seriously, so he doesn't even attempt to say no to Yor's food.

And though we know Yor is way too sweet to even shout or give a stern look to someone because they disobeyed or made a mess, it also makes sense for Bond to immediately consider his mistake will be met with violence. He spent a significant amount of time of his adult dog life in the research lab, where the scientists abused him, hurt him and belittled him. Having trouble trusting a new environment is typical abuse victim behaviour. So even though he feels loved and protected there, his trauma can still rear its ugly head whenever disobedience is involved.

And so Bond finds the solution. Help Loid come home earlier from work so that he can cook food for him!

For all his intelligence, Bond's perception of "humans working" is still stuck on the times of when humans first domesticated dogs. He's like "human put spiky rock on wood and then hunt". How does one explain red tape and politics to a dog, either way XD

Bond runs out of the house and I immediately wondered why Yor didn't immediately run after him, before I remembered that she couldn't leave Anya home alone.

And thus, Bond's adventure in Berlint begins!

The hot dog vendor called Bond a stray and I'm like wow, stray dogs in Berlint must be in excellent shape if people see a dog with a massive white fur that's clean and smooth and don't immediately assume he lives in a house with two clean freaks.

Once again, the art style here is clearly showing that this is in Bond's imagination, which is more influenced by his traumatic experience in the lab than his actual experience with the Forgers. I almost felt it was unfair how Yor was portrayed in his imagination!

I felt so sad for him in the bridge! Boy just wanted some food that wouldn't kill him 🥺 and then I laughed my ass off.

What an absolute unit this dog is!

His adventures continue until he finally catches a whiff of Loid's scent and he's off to help his human!

And we have a truth serum in the world! That could be an awesome opportunity of a Chekhov's Gun! While in general the spy things happening seem to be rooted in the real world, Endo also takes the James Bond route sometimes and I would really like to see if that stuff actually has an impact in the story later on.

(As usual, I'm anime only, so don't spoil me for later developments in the manga!)

Bond finds his human, relieved he'll be given safe food tonight!

Bond starts leading Twilight down a clear path and I'm very, VERY interested by how Twilight reaches the conclusion that Bond wants revenge on the scientists who abused him.

And if you ask me, in the manga his expression looks even more sympathetic. Look at that worried brow there.

At least the anime didn't rob us of blushing Twilight this time *grumble grumble*

Bond doesn't understand one bit of what Twilight is saying, though. He just wants food.

It's classic Forger family misunderstanding and jumping to conclusions, but I feel it says a TON about Twilight's character, not only that he considered Bond would want revenge for how he (and the other dogs!) was abused, but also that he honoured that supposed wish of Bond and didn't try to change his mind. I mean, it also helped him in his mission, but this time "For the MissionTM" wasn't in his mind at all, at least regarding Bond.

I think it's the first time that this happens? That he brushes his "for the mission" aside and focuses on what his family wants - at least, consciously. He's been doing that from day one but I think this is the first time that he does it knowingly. It also helps that he knows Bond would never be able to report him as a spy so he doesn't mind being a little more open with him. Wow. It's amazing in how many ways this family gives this man opportunity to reach back into his emotions and self.

Anyway, yeah. I think it says a lot about how sympathetic Twilight is, how much he values justice and feelings of vindication, and also how he believes that Bond wanted revenge not only for himself, but for his fellow dogs too. And of course, how he then helped him get his supposed "revenge".

I mean, it's one of the few logical conclusions he can make with his limited intel at that moment, but still I find it interesting and very telling that this is the conclusion he settled on.

Again, Bond doesn't understand a word but he settles on a positive borf since that will make Twilight finally move his ass so he can finish early and come back home and cook for him.

BOI HUNGY

Twilight behind him like "But what about your revenge?!!"

Another small difference between manga and anime, as in the manga Twilight looks actually distressed about getting home late. In the anime he's just... "eh".

Like, make up your mind guys. Is he more emotional in the anime or no?

I'm using my Sundays in a very productive manner, you see, dunking on overworked and underpayed animators.

Bond has his vision of the staff coming back and Twilight saying he'll be late, and we see angry Yor in, once again, the "imagination" style.

This is not the real Yor. This is the Yor traumatized Bond makes up.

Maybe, in a way, he doesn't understand that Yor's horrible cooking is 100% unintentional. When we see his flashbacks in episode 15, the people there threw some horrible-looking mush at him to eat and told him to be thankful for it, too. So he probably correlates food of bad quality with bad intentions, so it could be a reason why he imagines Yor being so cruel to him.

This. Was. Hilarious. I don't know if it's Anya's influence on him, but it was amazing to see him do something that a hardened spy like him would consider childish and yet be so effective in what he wanted to do 😂 Also, boy doesn't even try to hide? T. as in Twilight/Tasogare? How is this man a spy I swear to god

Despite the very serious implications of a truth serum being developed and used, we don't get to see Twilight's thoughts about it. Truth serums, if effective, could be detrimental for people like him, especially when fallen into the wrong hands. Of course, simply destroying their samples wouldn't do, as they could simply make more, so he doesn't bother with more than just one vial needed for WISE's analysts. I wonder if we'll get to see more of that in the future.

I don't have that much to say about the second part of the episode, other than a couple parts here and there.

I'm still not even close to liking Damian but I cannot imagine the kind of emotional abuse this six-year-old must have gone through to hear "do not shame your family" and take it as fucking praise, my GOD. I don't like the kid and I'd be a lousy parent but even I would treat him better than that.

As I've said before, there's a lot of personal trauma that rises to the surface whenever Damian is involved - especially after seeing how some fans tend to completely dismiss how much of a bully he is - and I was actually dreading this part, but it managed to hit some good spots. His friendship with Ewen and Emile still needs work, but the way they purposefully threw away their free day and angered Henderson - who by the way, got their intentions from the first moment and was like are you serious - all because they didn't want Damian to be alone was really heartwarming. If they caught Henderson in a bad day they could easily risk a Tonitrus, and I think that's something Damian will have to appreciate at some point. Maybe not immediately, but he'll get there. What this boy needs is not to be tapped in the back and told "Your trauma justifies bullying the girl you have special feelings for", but to be told he's valued as a person and not for how much he fulfills his father's expectations.

Mr. Green is a SUPER interesting guy!! He's funny and down to earth and sympathetic and he gave this parched anime-only some political commentary finally MY GOD

The fact that defecting has taken a code name speaks to how much of a common yet covert practice it is. The boys immediately fear that they will be sold off to Westalis, same way George Glooman feared that when he thought his dad's company had gone bankrupt. Then they ask why someone would even leave Ostania and Mr. Green is like "Well we have a beautiful night sky!" I don't know if he was being sarcastic, but I absolutely love how we got that insight into how deep nationalistic propaganda runs in Ostania, especially from the point of view of three innocent, very privileged but also sheltered kids.

Look, as I said, I have a lot of personal feelings and traumatic experience that influence the way I see Damian. I don't hate him and I want him to be better... I just feel really uncomfortable whenever people try to act like his bullying isn't that bad, or is justified, or even isn't bullying at all. And no matter my efforts, seeing fans talk about Damian like that has influenced me negatively to the point where I have to consciously try to not hate him. I understand that all of those fans have read the manga and those developments I see now are years-old news to them by now, but I still feel there's a very big space between what I see and what that part of the fandom sees. I don't need to see an episode where Damian relaxes and gets a little in touch with the kid he still is to understand he deserves better. But I also don't think him doing that undoes the emotional damage he inflicts upon Anya. He can be a bully, and he can be a victim, both at the same time. I'm just saying... if you're someone who will jump to his support whenever you hear takes like mine... maybe take a moment to think if you're putting your feelings over a fictional character over the feelings of a real person who is still carrying scars from having been bullied as a kid.

Yeah, that got a little personal, I'm sorry. But I'm not here to make objective analysis and I'm probably the only anime-only here talking about the story in such depth. I just wanted to make my stance clear, that's all.

😢 What’s something that upsets them?

I think we can canonically see that Lucy is pretty understandably upset by any reminders of her past and the cruelty she faced in the orphanage. In particular, she’s especially prone to comparisons and jealousy when faced with the prospect of abandonment - it’s Atsushi having a similar background to her but ending up with a place to belong whereas she has to continuously prove her worth and value that really sets off her initial animosity towards him. I think Lucy tends to get irritated more easily than outright showing her sadness, and although I think some of this has been alleviated by finding stability at the café, she still might feel surges of resentment or insecurity if she stands out in a negative way to the people around her (like her clothes don’t look as nice, or everyone is talking families or whatnot), or if she messes something up - it outwardly frustrates her, but inwardly she still equates mistakes to punishment or abandonment. I can imagine her early days at the café were kind of nerve wracking until she offered a way that she (and only she) could help (keeping the beans in Anne’s Room).

📒 What topic of study would they be interested in?

I can’t see Lucy doing anything other than creative writing. I think much like the characters in the actual author’s works, she’s likely a dreamer who turned to fiction and her own daydreams to escape her situation whenever possible. I like to think she’d take a few creative writing classes if she ever got the opportunity (I think it’d be so funny if her and Atsushi were in the same class and she just tears his works apart during editing). I can also see her being interested in crafting. I think she’d prefer any studies that allow her to utilize her creativity while also giving her some kind of finished product of sorts - a kind of proof of her existence, in a sense.

Hehe, I assume you mean in the role swap AU? But yeah, sure thing! Anything to ramble about Kyo and Akaza lmao

So, everyone has already seen their first meeting with Akaza digging up the Kamados' graves in an attempt to find out how/why they were murdered, and he got caught by Kyojuro, who was not low key at all about the fact that he knows something about Tanjiro and Nezuko, thus confirming they were both very much alive, when Akaza had been told they were both dead by Muzan (well, and Douma)

I do have to admit that Kyojuro and Akaza won't actually get another interaction until the Mugen train though.

However, as Kyojuro has already made very clear, he is going to be vehemently searching for Akaza so he can convince him to become a demon and turn on the Corps, because, well, he likes him! Tamayo has also given her blessing for this, which means Akaza is officially off limits to any Kizuki, they're not allowed to harm him in any way

On Akaza's side of things, his encounter with Kyojuro only made him more suspicious. Not only because of the vague claims of knowing what happened to the Kamados, but Tanjiro's body was missing from the grave, and the Kamados were beheaded. It obviously wasn't a demon who killed them despite what he was told. And given the fact that Kie always suspected the Corps hid something about Nezuko's "death" it doesn't take Akaza long to become suspicious of the Corps, and to start investigating the Kamado family's murders in earnest.

It eventually lands him in some deep shit with the Corps when he goes poking around some things they didn't want him to know about (namely, some stuff with a certain younger Shinazugawa bro). Akaza has always been kept on a tight leash by the Corps despite being a Hashira, and this ends with Muzan dictating every single thing he does and monitoring everything he does. But he doesn't want to waste other Hashira's time to babysit Akaza, so he eventually gets sent on the Mugen train mission with Gyutaro, Rui, and Susumaru, all of whom are tsuguko to various Hashira, so despite Akaza being ranked above them, they're expected to report back on every single thing he does and are trusted to do so considering some of their... unique circumstances

This would all be fine, but Makomo has been eating humans left and right on the Mugen train, and Tanjiro, Nezuko, and Inosuke were sent to learn hunting techniques from her.

This leads to Akaza having a confrontation with the Kamados, learning both his former students are not only alive, but are demons themselves, and are working intimately with the Kizuki. His world shatters.

And when he almost kills Makomo... she panics and calls for backup.

Considering his favorite Hashira who he's been looking for so diligently has resurfaced, Kyojuro shows up. He and Akaza get their extremely homoerotic fight scene, that mostly consists of Kyojuro begging him to become a demon, while Akaza demands to know what the Kizuki did to the Kamado sibs to make them turn out this way. The fight eventually ends with Kyojuro very obviously sparing Akaza's life, and leaving him be, though with a heavy warning that if he doesn't consider the offer to turn against the Corps, Akaza's life will be forfeit to the Kizuki soon enough.

And to make things even worse for Akaza... Gyutaro, Ume, Rui, and Susumaru all witnessed a Kizuki spare his life. They witnessed Akaza fail as a Hashira, as he should have killed Kyojuro, or died trying himself. Both of them walking away from that fight shouldn't have been an option, and when they report that to the Corps, the very last bit of Akaza's luck with Muzan runs out. He's as good as a dead man.

Kyojuro knows this. After all, he was a slayer himself. He knows how the Corps operates, how their punishments function. He knows Akaza won't keep his life much longer if he stays with the Corps, so then resolves to bring him to the Infinity Palace, whether Akaza is willing or not. He'll convince him to like it eventually!

The immediate aftermath of the Mugen train is where the current installment of the AU wraps up, and it will be followed by what I have lovingly titled "the renkaza interlude" in my outline document haha. It's basically focused on Akaza and Kyojuro's developing relationship after these incredibly intense two first meetings, as well as Akaza's relationship with the Kamado sibs, and Genya. On top of this, Akaza is forced to reckon with the fact that Koyuki and Keizo's deaths weren't what he once thought, leaving Kyojuro and Shinobu to help him investigate their murders, all while whispering sweet nothings about betraying the Corps that are getting harder and harder to ignore

I'm very excited for that installment, but I do have to get through shadow of sunlight first, as well as write up Akaza's backstory for how he even ended up a Hashira haha

💀😂 hfdjfhdsjk - Micah might leave you and the kids for weeks at a time but your finances are a DISASTER. Bill isn't the richest man in the world, either, but at least he has a stable income and with the exception for cigarettes, he actually doesn't spend much money on himself. ok ok so I’m relatively new to the Sun/Mira-verses (also, fellow OP(LA) fan, hi) and as soon as I saw the name “Gol D. Mira” I was like hell yes (give that man a daughter I love it!!) but now I’m curious… as a certified Ace Stan™️ does he factor in to your canon at all?

Second of all I'm welcoming you're with bitter disappointment, because Ace and Sun/Mira are very ships in the night in both verses (and yes I am sad about it 😢)

Mira in a way has it better, because she never meets him and doesn’t even know he exists until after he's dead.

When Shanks found him he was going to find her (because they were... not together for very sad, dramatic reasons), but when he tried to - pretty much literally - shake her location out of Buggy, the clown let it slip that it was probably for the best if he stayed away (also for very dramatic and sad reasons^^).

So of course she is saddened to learn that she lost a brother she didn’t even know existed, but it doesn't affect her that much tbh.

Sun lived in Windmill Village for years and only leftover a while after Garp moved Luffy from the village. So yes, she knows the weird kid trying to pick fights over "what if Gol D Roger had a kid? 😡", but she doesn't pay him much mind, because she doesn’t know anything about her own parentage, so why would she assume that they could somehow be related (especially when he is the spitting image of their father while she looks like her mother)?

Other than her Oro Jackson!verse counterpart though, she is at Marinefold when shit hits the fan - more to make sure that Luffy doesn’t get himself killed trying to save Ace than to actually aid in his rescue. Things go about as great as you'd expecting and in the end Ace is dead, Luffy shipped off somewhere is in catatonic shock and Sun finds herself gravely injured aboard the Red Force - mourning her personal loss and the factually that her reunion with Shanks is aa far from what she always imagined it than possible.

It's days before she even allows anyone other than the doctor to see her (although she has a feeling that Shanks comes and sits with her at night) and so it's only after Ace's funeral that she learns the truth about her own past and parentage and her relation to him. And amongst the many things she feels (mostly anger and borderline hatred at Shanks for keeping all this from her) she also feels sad and angry and guilty that she missed her brother's funeral because she was too busy "feeling sorry for herself" (and also injured and all that so it's not like she was being petuliant or anything, it's just more misplaced anger that has nowhere to go).

To cut a long story short - I am so sorry to disappoint an Ace Stan™️ but we're at minimal Ace capacity here 🙈

you know i was thinking - and since you brought up dron in your other posts - about the time narcissa got pregnant with draco, still in the midst of war, her and lucius are laying down on the king sized bed, lucius' head resting on narcissa's tummy while she runs her fingers through lucius' long hair. they're talking in hushed whispers about what draco is going to be like, when he grows up. then narcissa is struck by a memory and she whispers "i hope he takes after severus" lucius lifts his head and raises an eyebrow at her "i'm sorry?" narcissa hums "do you remember him, when he was a first year? an odd one, but such a curious child, so eager to learn" lucius snorts at that, but there's fondness in his expression "a surly and distrustful little thing, but very keen, yes" and lucius smirks as he remembers the way severus would speak like a small adult, trying hard to mirror one, but his childish excitement about learning and being praised betraying his youth. "he was very intelligent and knowledgeable. i pray our draco becomes as stimulated by learning as severus was" lucius smiles at narcissa as she says this, then leans down to kiss her forehead, whispering "i want him to be just like you" and the subject dies there.

YEARS go by, the two wars pass, lucissa are in the reception of remus and severus' discreet wedding, feeling a little out of place as draco just wanders off to be civil to harry potter and his friends. narcissa is watching a bit in awe as remus is holding severus from behind, arms circling him, talking in his ear and even rocking him slightly, as though as they were the only people in the room. the irritation in severus' face is diminished by the fact he's got remus's fingers intertwined with his, holding him tightly in place, rolling his eyes, but repressing a smile as remus sings in his ear what she's sure is a muggle song. "i can't smile without you, i can't smile without you, i can't laugh, and i can't sing—" "you CAN'T sing, remus, you're terrible at it!" severus growls, and remus just laughs, and keeps going "... you see i feel sad when you're sad, i feel glad when you're glad ..." and he keeps going, then kisses severus to silence his complaints of "soppy werewolf" and "may merlin save me from sentimental gryffindors". it's all too surreal for narcissa, and she can feel lucius staring at the image with barely contained horror beside her. draco is also staring across the hall, a thoughtful and wary expression she can't quite interpret on his face.

MOOOONTHS later, she thinks she finally understands, as she had ron weasly sitting in one of her large chairs, draco sitting in the arm of said chair, an arm surrounding ron's shoulder, and she can tell draco is doing his best to be unbothered and haughty as he announces ron weasly is his partner, but she can tell he's concealing the same nervousness ron is displaying. lucius throws his hands in the air and turns to her, looking exasperated "well, i do hope you're happy, the boy has definitely taken after his godfather in more than one way!" he says, then narcissa watches him leave, snarling quietly about "muggle loving gryffindors". ah but i'm sure he will get over it eventually, for draco jfjfjdj he just has to get over the idea of having to deal with arthur and molly weasly forever after this 👀

and i'm sorry if i annoy you too much with all of this, i just think your ideas are very inspiring! 🥺♥️ now dron makes more sense in my head, i think draco and severus do have some things in common and i can imagine them feeling drawn to ron and remus' warmth, that craving of something they just don't have in their lives or usual circles. i'm sure draco would see snupin successing in their unlikely romance and be like "👁️👁️ if they can......."

I live for Draco and Severus interactions that are more softer haha. I really like the idea of them sharing small moments of affection when no one is around; both of them a bit awkward on how to show said affection.

I've never thought about Snarcissa cooking together until my last answer but I absolutely love the idea of it now! I like to think that Narcissa has a bit of competitiveness in her. So she's just there like "it looks so easy, i bet I can do it". And she's also hellbent on making sure Severus doesn't try to shut them out of his life so she thinks it's perfect; she can challenge herself and spend the day with Severus. And even though Severus hates the thought of teaching kids, I don't think he hates the act of teaching itself. He appreciates knowledge and gets satisfaction when someone learns something from him probably so it's as enjoyable to him as it is for Narcissa (they will never tell each other this of course).

The tea cosy will absolutely be her most cherished gift ever. I can just see Lucissa hosting some kind of get together and the tea cozy is just there; ghastly and a bit shabby but it's become a bit of a known secret that NO ONE is allowed to say anything about it so everyone just pretends they don't see it 😂.

Oh gods your little snippet about Lucissa being soft with each other during the pregnancy 🥹🥹🥹. And I love how they're both fond of Sev like he was some rabid hissing and scratching black cat they found but they're like yes, we want this one haha.

Just imagining when baby Draco was just born, Sev comes over after a while to give Narcissa some potions to recover (because he had been researching of course), he finds Lucissa softly murmuring while Narcissa is holding Draco. And little Draco is making these soft baby noises. Sev is just standing there, unable to move because the moment is so tender that the pain he feels, the memories he has about his own childhood is wretched enough that he turns to leave. But of course, Lucius spots him and calls him over. He's slow and reluctant but he straightens his back and walks over to the mother and child. Then Narcissa has him sit on the bed next to her and suddenly he has an armful of a baby and he's panicking inside because oh god I'm going to drop him but Narcissa gently positions his arms correctly so the little bundle of human (he's so tiny are they always so small?) is cradled securely. He sees grey eyes slowly blinking at him and the baby and him just stare at each other. Narcissa gently strokes the head of her son with a finger and says "we've named him Draco" and Severus finds himself softly exhaling the name. It's barely a whisper but the baby seems to zero in onto Severus and he makes a soft gurgling noise and kicks his little feet in the blanket he's cocooned under, hitting Severus and he feels a surge of something inside. Something fierce. Lucius says, from behind him, "tiny little thing isn't he. but he's perfect", Severus couldn't see but he could hear pride and fondness in Lucius's voice. I love the idea of Draco having a Revelation™️ at the wedding and looking at the relationship between him and Ron in a whole new light. Personally, I like to think that it's more platonic in the beginning. Just Draco thinking oh maybe Gryffindors aren't so bad if his godfather was willing to marry one. And Draco really does want to change and although Potter and Granger are more than willing to give him a second chance, he wants to try making amends with Weasley too. Eventually, the tense meetings between them become more comfortable and it changes from I-want-to-be-a-better-person to I-want-to-be-a-better-person-to-you to I-have-very-unheterosexual-feelings-for-you-actually.

Draco would be quite overwhelmed by the Weasleys but oh all the hugs he's about to get 🥺. Draco, who's always been an only child, gets the benefit of having a big family and Ron, who's always craved being recognised gets the benefit of having Draco's full attention on him 🥺.
