FixTF2: What Happened, Why Did Valve Step In, And What Comes Next?
DISCLAIMER: I am in no way affiliated with neither Valve nor the people who run the FixTF2 petition. Do not treat anything I say here as any official announcement of any future plans for the movement. All my thoughts and opinions are mine and mine alone.
As of the making of this post, the save.tf has officially closed down to new signatures, racking up a generous 343,711 total signatures. I've made my thoughts on FixTF2 clear in the past, where I said that I didn't have much hope that Valve would actually do something, but to my surprise, Valve seemed to have finally stepped in and done something about the bot issue plaguing the game for 5 straight years beyond the usual half-assed band-aid fix. In light of Valve surprising me, I want to talk about what's happened, some speculation as to why Valve is potentially doing this, and what I think comes next from all of this.
So, let's clear some stuff up: Is Casual really bot-free?
From what I've seen and heard, yes!
Starting around June 25th, multiple sources reported a massive drop in the active player count for Team Fortress 2 from Steam Charts, being around 15,000-16,000 users vanishing overnight. Many people suspect this to be a large-scale ban wave Valve enacted, and there is a large amount of evidence to support this. (More info from this video by shounic here) Since then, up until the day this post is being written (July 1st 2024), people have reported that Casual servers across all regions have been fairly bot-free, with only the occasional one popping up, a far cry from a month ago, where servers were flooded with them no matter where you went. I myself even hopped on a few games and to my surprise, there were no bots to be found whatsoever. Its honestly been super refreshing to see the game be this clean, as now its actually fun to play once again. I haven't touched the game in months, but since the bots have been kicked out for a little bit, it feels good to play once more. If you haven't played the game for a while cause of the bots, now's your chance to hop in and enjoy the game. Its actually fun to play now that the bots have been squashed. On top of that, (as of the time this post is being written), Valve appears to still be actively curbing cheaters and bots from the game, even setting up a dedicated Steam support page for anyone who gets a game ban here.
So, why's Valve doing any of this?
This is where I'm going to step into speculation territory, as Valve being Valve means there's barely any information they will share with the public, but I'll do my best to come up with some logical explanations. I would say that Valve doing a ban wave has both a short-term goal and a long-term goal. The short-term goal was Valve was always intending to do a ban wave, it just took a while to do. What I think happened was Valve took a while to collect a database of known bot accounts and (presumably) their hosters, and from there, once Valve felt they were comfortable with the amount they had collected, they pulled the trigger and proceeded to wipe them out. They obviously couldn't just outright say "Hey, we're gonna do a wipe of the bots soon" because that would have given the hosters plenty of time to set up proactive measures to make Valve's job harder. The only evidence I really have for this is the dropoff of players on Steam Charts, which shows around 15k-16k players mysteriously disappeared from the game, which seems to point to Valve issuing a game ban toward said accounts/deleting them entirely. Alternatively, Valve could have banned a limited amount of accounts, much lower than the 15-16k shown by Steam Charts, but it sent a scare to hosters who deactivated their bots and took them off the game once they knew Valve was watching them, but this explanation I don't have much evidence to prove beyond scattered Discord screenshots of supposed hosters telling people to change their bot configurations due to Valve clamping down on them. The long-term goal of this, though far-fetched and lacking evidence to support, could have to do with Deadlock, their next game, as a proactive measure to prevent these same malicious actors from flooding the game on Day 1, something many people have pointed out and what's happened to CS2 not even a year into its launch.
(UPDATE: Ok I might as well address this cause it did come up while I was writing the post, but a Team Fortress 2 DLC for an upcoming Funko Pop game called Funko Fusion was announced, and people have said that the only reason why Valve squashed the bots was because Valve wanted the game to look good in time for the crossover.
Now I am by no means a fan of Funko Pop, I think they look a bit ugly and there's a myriad of other things people take issue with, but that's all outside the scope of this post. I personally don't care that this is happening to begin with, as Funko Pops are something I routinely forget about, so as far as the DLC existing, I don't care that much. That being said, if it is true that Valve only squashed bots due to this collab happening to begin with, then that is pretty sad and disappointing to see, with how Valve wasn't motivated to fix the issue until a different company came knocking and asked them to do something cause they didn't want the DLC to look bad. But since there's no confirmation this is the case, Valve does have some level of plausible deniability here, and ultimately, something good did come from this, at a (to me, cause I couldn't give a shit about Funko) nonexistant cost so I won't complain)
So now time to return to the last part of the question in the title: What comes next?
Well for one thing, the war has not been won yet.
A big mistake with SaveTF2 was once Valve tweeted that they apparently "heard" us and were working to improve things, people largely declared victory and chose to stop there. Yet things didn't substantially improve since then, only cascading into a far worse situation. This time around, we cannot give up as quickly as last time. We are on the cusp of victory, but we need to keep the pressure on Valve. Keep holding them accountable for the bot issue. Put pressure on them to get rid of the bots for good. Don't let them off the hook and give them a slap on the wrist for only repelling the bots for a little bit, because believe me, as soon as Valve stops doing anything and slinks back into the shadows, the bots will return, and they will be far worse than anything we've seen thus far. It happened two years ago, it will happen again if we just declare victory now and go home. What Valve is doing is a great change of pace and they do deserve some praise for what they're doing, but we must make sure they stay committed to fixing the issue at hand. The best time for Valve to fix the issue was 5 years ago. The second best time is here and now. For now, hop on a few games and enjoy the (relatively) clean servers. We've earned a small break after our victory, but once you're done, make sure to grab your best bot-stomping boots, because our job is far from over.

Oasis on Melody Maker, 2/3/1996.
This edition covers the iconic BRIT Awards of that year.
Below is the transcription of the parts where Oasis are mentioned. (PS.: if you catch any typo, please let me know so I can fix it)
THE BATTLE OF THE BRITS
"THE tabloids are out to get me", JARVIS COCKER complained in last week's Maker. It may have sounded a tad exaggerated at the time. But not now. After the moment of inspired lunacy when he disrupted Michael Jackson's stomach-churning performance at last week's Brits, the self-righteous popular press made him Public Enemy No 1, condemning both Cocker and Oasis, who were also on supremely snotty form, for their loutish behaviour. While the tabloids have been raging and fuming in blustering indignation, however, most sensible people could only cheer Jarvis' outrageous pluck. Brian Eno described his actions as "heroic", and one observer wrote to a national newspaper demanding an immediate knighthood for the great man.
In this five-page Maker News Special, CAROL CLERK and MAT SMITH report on an unusually eventful night at the Brits Awards...
Caption of the Liam's image:
Liam, Patsy and the bum's rush
Caption of the Noel's image:
Noel meets Tony Blair: "Course I'll vote for yer, Tone. Just don't put up me fooking tax"
Caption of the Oasis' image:
"Altogether now - 'Shitelife!'"
"SEX 'N' THUGS 'N' ROCK 'N' ROLL"
WHILE Jarvis may have been grabbing most of the headlines for the Brits, the nation's favourite loudmouths, Oasis, kept their own flag flying for bad behaviour.
While scooping a hat trickof awards for Best Video, Best Album and Best Group, the Gallaghers and their entourage managed to scandalise the media and, apparently, the Brits Committee, since their acceptance speeches were greatly edited in the version which was finally shown on television the next day.
Oasis' first award, announced and presented by Michael Hutchence, was for "Wonderwall" in the Best Video category - voted for by viewers of "The Chart Show".
The occasion carried a special significance in that Liam Gallagher's current girlfriend, Patsy Kensit, was quite recently pictured in the papers with her hand down Hutchence's trousers. This had led to various bits of banter in the press, with Liam apparently sniping at Hutchence's girlfriend, Paula Yates...
"I heard Michael's going to give me a slap round the face", said Liam onstage. "So come on..."
Michael, instead, kissed him.
"And for another thing", carried on Liam, "I'd just like to say..."
"Sausages", interrupted Noel Gallagher, referring to Liam's starring appearance in The Sun's "Celebrity Sausage Game", which connected stars who are known to have shagged each other.
In a reported highlight cut from the TV version, Noel is said to have blasted Hutchence, saying: "Has-beens shouldn't be presenting f***ing awards to gonna-bes."
An Oasis spokesman commented: "That whole thing with Hutchence is really light-hearted. He would not have presented the award if he thought there was going to be a problem."
However, rumours later circulated that Oasis' Guigsy almost came to blows with Hutchence backstage at the official party.
According to one observer, "Michael Hutchence kept poking him in the shoulder, just trying to be a wise guy. Guigsy threatened to take him outside and sort him out, but then he said he didn't want to waste a fight on him."
The fact that the Best Video award was voted for by the public obviously meant a great deal to Noel Gallagher.
Onstage, he said: "Anything that's voted for by the fans is special. Anything that's voted for by idiots, corporate pigs, means nothing to us."
He later told a TV news crew who approached his table: "I don't need any fat pig record executives to tell me how good my group is."
It's tempting to imagine Noel returning his Brits in a few years' time, like John Lennon with his MBE, although Oasis spokesman chuckled, "I don't think so. I think he was just winding people up, but obviously there's a logic behind what he's saying. It's more important to be appreciated by the fans than by the industry. It's the kids who listen to the records who are important. We're not a corporate record label although we're distributed by Sony, and... (continues after the next image)
... they haven't taken offence.
Noel was actually raving about Creation and Alan McGee [its MD]. He brought Alan onstage with them later on.
The Maker's Paul Mathur, who was with Oasis on and off all night, agreed: "Most of it was winding people up", he said. "But it was supposed to be a rock'n'roll event, and there were all these stuffed-shirt, dicky-bow people giving awards to Annie Lennox and people like that, and theirs seemed to be the only creativity award.
"I think they were behaving the way they did just make it a bit more interesting. That's why Jarvis went onstage, cos he was bored. Oasis thought that was brilliant. It was gloriously silly behaviour."
At some point, Noel also declared: "I have nothing to say except for I'm extremely rich and you're not."
When Oasis - a real motley crew - marched up to the stage to collect their second award of the night, for "(What's The Story) Morning Glory?" in the Best Album category, things became more heated.
The award was announced and presented by Lenny Kravitz, and television viewers saw only one comment from Liam: "Thank you very much. I'd like to thank all the fans, all the people who have made us what we are... I'd like to thank... all the people." This was followed by a live film clip of Oasis playing "Don't Look Back In Anger", presumaly at one of their Earl's Court November shows.
What the TV programmers didn't want us to see was a hilarious sequence of events.
"Anyone tough enough to take us off the stage can come up now", huffed Liam. "It will take more than Ginger Bollocks [host Chris Evans] to throw us off."
There followed an impromptu version of Blur's "Parklife", renamed "Shitelife", and an episode in which Liam pretended to ram the award up his bottom and then sniffed the end of the statuette.
The Blur theme continued at a press conference after the awards ceremony. Noel, asked if he had a message for Blur, reportedly told the gathering: "Yes - goodbye. Pack your bags now because you're finished. You've had a 'Parklife' and now it's a 'Shitelife' for you."
Noel is also quoted as telling the conference: "They [the Brits Committee] are a bunch of tossers who think people like Sting and Bowie are the cutting edge of music."
Oasis' third and final award, presented by Pete Townshend, was for Best British Group.
The band used their acceptance speech this time to lavish praise on Alan McGee and Tony Blair, who was in attendance to present David Bowie's award.
Most of this joined the other Oasis footage on the TV cutting room floor. Oasis' spokesman recalled: "Noel said there were seven people in the room who bring hope to young people - the five members of Oasis, Alan McGee and Tony Blair. He had a rant about Tony Blair and the Labour Party, saying 'All you people out there go and vote for him.'"
With a brief "Power to the people!" from Noel, Oasis left the stage and returned to their table in boisterous spirits.
"They totally enjoyed their evening", said the spokesman, with amusing understatement.
"I think everyone was really pissed up", elaborated Paul Mathur. "Their attitude was basically just 'We rule the world so f*** you, you c***s.' The atmosphere around them was definitely one of triumphant heroes. There was lots of swaggering rather than anything else. They won the Best Band award which I think they felt they deserved last year.
"They were high-spirited rather than deliberately badly behaved. They were trying to shake things up a bit, as they've always done."
Joining Oasis at their table were their girlfriends - including Patsy Kensit - Alan McGee and a few hundred empty bottles.
"All the other tables were a bit boring by comparison", commented Mathur.
The only members of Oasis who stayed at the official Brits party for any length of time were Guigsy and Alan White. The rest headed back to their hotel, the Landmark in London's Marylebone.
There, accompanied by cronies like Robbie Williams, Vic Reeves and Lisa Moorish, they passed the night alternating between their rooms and the bar. The party was just about coming to an end at daybreak when Jarvis Cocker walked into the hotel.
Jarvis, who had apparently travelled straight there in a cab from the police station, seemed "a bit shaken", according to Mathur.
"I think we met him in a corridor as we were coming out of a room down to the bar", added Mathur. "He was saying, 'Why do people always pick on me?'"
"It was only then that we realised he'd been arrested. He's got a digital camera - you press it and see the picture you've just taken. And he had all these pictures of his cell and his toilet at the nick. I think everyone felt sorry for him."
Oasis' capers at the Brits sparked the usual rash of tabloid reaction stories - "Oasis Are The Beast Of Brits" (Daily Star) - but these are sometimes less critical now because of the papers' acknowledgement of the bands' achievements.
"Wonderhaul" glowed The Sun. "Oasis Are Different Class", cried the Mirror, informing its readers that "Noel's lads beat Jarvis and Co".
Oasis very appearance at the Brits was followed by a string of special features in the tabloids.
On February 20, the Star gave a centre spread to "Rock's King Of Crumpet" (Liam). The next day, the Mirror gave two pages over to "Mummy's Little Darlings" - "To Mrs Gallagher, they'll always be her angels" - and, on February 22, the Star was on the case again, playing jiggery-pokery with Liam's photograph to give him a make-over.
The Brits organisers have made no official comment about Oasis' loud behaviour, but a close source told The Maker: "They're rock'n'roll stars and, if they want to be loud, that's fine by us. I think everybody feels that way. Michael Hutchence said, 'Well, I loved their attitude. I didn't mind at all. I think they're great and I love the way they behave and I didn't care. That's just the way they are.'"
Jonathan King said: "I think it's quite nice that there is an element of rebellion reflected. When I was a little boy that was the kind of thing one used to want. I suspect the image and the reality are quite far apart, because what I particulaly like about the band is that they have a very good work ethic. I think they have the brains to do it right and the balls to do it rebelliously.

Sans Isn't Tiny, and I Can Prove It With Undertale's Merchandise (And Some Dodgy Deductions)
In the Undertale/Deltarune Summer Newsletter of 2023, a desperate soul asked about San's cannon height. Specifically, a participant of the Interview with Papyrus wanted to know if Sans is "shorty short or a bean pole".
Naturally, we were treated to the height of Papyrus' cannon:
It seems that we are going to have to try a little harder than that. Lesser minds may interpret this answer as a joke, but all I see is a challenge. Through rigorous analysis and a few small assumptions, we can find the true height of Papyrus' canon Sans.
Good thing that I know what I'm doing!
ASSUMPTION #1: The Sans hoodie, and its corresponding promotional video on the Fangamer website, is canon.
(This is, of course, perfectly reasonable. All this requires us to do is believe that Sans walks around wearing a hoodie that just so happens to have a zipper pull in the shape of his own face.)
To find out how tall Sans is, we first need a reference point. Luckily, thanks to its incredible marketability, Sans' hoodie exists in both our world and the Underground. All we need is the sizing information and Sans' hoodie size, and we can work out the size of everything else from there. While the hoodie size of our skeleton isn't officially confirmed, we can make some deductions from the video.
Specifically, through this screenshot:
The Fangamer website lists ten total sizes. There are—
ASSUMPTION #2: I can count.
—eight different hoodie sizes displayed in this screenshot. This can be determined by counting the pixels of the body length of each jacket shown.
(NOTE: I haven't included Scarf Mouse's hoodie, due to it being far too large and thus crumpled, or Rabbit Girl's pet/fellow monster on a leash, as it felt like too much of a stretch to call that an adult size. Let's just say that Papyrus is also selling pet clothing.)
Sans' own jacket, allowing a pixel either side of the of the end of the colour to account for the outline, comes out to ten pixels tall when counted like the others.
ASSUMPTION #3: All characters in this scene are wearing official merchandise, conforming to the human sizing listed on the website.
Given that there are ten sizes, from XS to 6X, and only eight are accounted for, we can't just slot Sans in yet. However, the hoodie sizes of the characters increase as follows:
Faun- 7p, Frisk- 8p, Sans and Monster Kid- 10p, Snowdrake and Scarf Mouse(?)- 11p, Lesser Dog- 12p, Rabbit Girl and Doggo- 13p, Red Demon- 14, Politics Bear- 20p.
Given the large jump, I'm going to say that the Politics Bear is in the largest size, with the two missing sizes being between them and Red Demon. That has the characters sizes increasing incrementally from Faun's XS, giving Sans a size medium hoodie.
Huzzah! Valid scientific progress!
ASSUMPTION #4: The overworld sprites correlate exactly to real world sizes, and are not at all warped by perspective or stylisation.
Let's just ignore the horrifying body proportion implications of that last assumption. It is time to rejoice, for we have numbers now.
(Also, I am going to ignore Sans' battle sprite. The battle sprites are often inconsistent with overworld sizing— looking at you, Asgore— and, given the fact that all previous working is based on overworld sprites anyway, it felt disingenuous. Scientific validity is obviously the goal here.)
The official sizing chart on the Sans Hoodie Fangamer page lists the body length of a medium hoodie as 26 inches, or 66 centimetres. Dividing this by the ten pixels, and this gives us 6.6cm per pixel. As Sans' overworld sprite is 30 pixels tall, that gives him a total height of 198cm
...That makes Sans 6'4".
So, in answer to the original question, I think Sans may belong to the 'beanpole' end of that spectrum.
(Fun fact: This makes Papyrus over nine feet tall.)

My Pre-release and Post-release FACE thoughts
Jimin’s mini solo album called FACE (2023)
My PRE-release impressions (2023.02.27)
Details about Jimin's first solo album have recently been released. It only has 6 songs. 1 is a continuation of Suga’s already released song “Set Me Free “. 2 songs are the same - one version in English, the other in Korean, and 1 is an interlude with no lyrics. So there are 4 unique songs.
The album case is very underwhelming. Jimin may have a reason for it, but it’s very plain and bland. His name nor his image are present in any clear way or at all.
The teasers have shown Jimin rapping, playing guitar, and the audio snips do not intrigue me. I hope the actual presentation is better than what I’m seeing at the moment.
HOWEVER, there were pictures of Jimin working with other famous producers and some of them are on this EP (extended play) album. SO there’s hope that another album will be released after this one or perhaps multiple singles.
JMs rollout is being muddied by nasty fans and haters and his company. Possibly due to military service enlistments, HYBE is announcing other member’s projects at the same time, which pulls attention away from JMs first effort. He has not had many other projects but the others have already put out material. So…I’m a bit annoyed, but in honesty, Jimin often gets shafted; HOWEVER, he usually rises to the occasion and is successful anyway. It would be nice for him not to have to fight for every achievement.
BTW the company is finally releasing his other solo songs (Promise & Christmas Love) officially to streaming platforms, several years after their initial releases. :-/
My POST-release impressions (2023.03.26)
I have now listened to the entire album and watched the accompanying music videos and dance practices. Jimin’s mini solo album called FACE (2023) actually has 7 (0 skip) songs.
The album, Face, is said to not be about Jimin’s handsome face but about Jimin having to face himself in order to grow and be free. It had been highly anticipated by fans, nemeses, & the industry.
My first impression is that my pre-release impressions were proven insufficient to what was actually delivered. Jimin's product, as always, exceeded my expectations. Jimin’s songs are all wonderful, and his voice sounds beautiful. There is a lot of variety & creativity in the types of songs and the production of the tracks. The matching videos are well done for Set Me Free Part2 and Like Crazy. Jimin's dancing is, as always, stellar. The lyrics are very open and honest. All of the songs have a dark, troubling thread, revealing someone who is struggling but who ultimately triumphs. Alcohol is mentioned in every song as a problem: the overindulgence of, the use as medication, the crutch to forget, the destructive instigator. There is minimal cursing in 2 of the songs, and it’s not the lighter cursing. It’s the F bomb, mostly being used to express angry feelings. Face-Off has direct disturbing lyrics that imply someone (or some entity, some suggest even himself) took advantage of him and really wounded him and at their “masquerade party,” something happened while he was f**king drunk. They took his money, his heart, his trust & betrayed him. He says his piece to them about “it being f**king over” & that he’s moving on.
The performances he has begun to do, as the very short promotional period rolls out, show a relaxed and prepared JM. The live choreography is very good, and the songs are presented well. And best of all, the individual songs and the album are doing well on the charts and among fans. Strange hater stuff and odd, corrupt business things are still happening (such as sale/streaming counts being mysteriously reduced) but he’s still doing well. JM is doing a surprising promotional tour that includes American & Korean talk shows, Korean music shows, radio shows, and a WeLive to talk more about the album. The most surprising thing is the hidden song on the album found at the end of Like Crazy (English) at 06:13 (BTS time) after a silent pause. While no other BTS members or collaborators sing on the album, JK sings as a background singer on this song called Letter.
**Future Letter thoughts and post-promotion thoughts to come.

Queen live at Barra da Tijuca in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil - January 12, 1985 (Part-2)
After the show, EMI threw a party in Queen's honour at the Copacabana Palace Hotel. On the beach outside the hotel, some fans had gathered for a candle-lighting vigil, where 1,500 candles spelled out the word "Queen", as seen in the last three pictures above. Security tried to keep the enthusiastic crowd away from Brian May who was coming out of the hotel, very touched by the gesture of the fans. After he lit the last few candles, he stayed around to sign autographs. Not long afterward he jumped into the pool fully clothed.
About a minute of soundcheck (bits of Radio Ga Ga and Jailhouse Rock filmed on January 8) was shown on Brazilian TV around this time. Also, a few songs were soon shown on Globo TV: Somebody To Love, Love Of My Life, Crazy Little Thing Called Love, Radio Ga Ga, and We Are The Champions (Hammer To Fall and I Want To Break Free were apparently broadcast as well, but no known copies have emerged). A 60-minute compilation of both nights in Rio would be officially released on VHS, simply entitled "Live In Rio", shortly after the concerts - only four months later. Like the "We Will Rock You" video from Montreal '81, upon its release it would debut in the British video charts at number one. Also like the Montreal video, the picture and audio aren't always from the same night. The picture fluctuates from night to night, often during songs, but that is the extent of the editing - no overdubs on the audio were done (other than adding artificial audience noise throughout much of it). Here is the video's track listing, with the italicized songs taking the audio from the first night: Machines (tape), Tie Your Mother Down, Seven Seas of Rhye, Keep Yourself Alive, Liar [cut], It's A Hard Life, Now I'm Here, Is This The World We Created?, Love Of My Life, guitar solo [cut], Brighton Rock (ending), Hammer To Fall, Bohemian Rhapsody, Radio Ga Ga, I Want To Break Free, We Will Rock You, We Are The Champions, God Save The Queen While in Japan in May, Brian and John appeared on MTV Japan to promote the VHS release. While talking briefly about the Rio show, Brian modestly says, "Lots of people came." He then humourously plugs the station. "Don't stop watching MTV. In fact, keep watching MTV." About seven minutes of short clips from both nights are then shown (Another One Bites The Dust, Tie Your Mother Down, Killer Queen, It's A Hard Life, Dragon Attack, Love Of My Life, the guitar solo, Hammer To Fall, Bohemian Rhapsody and Radio Ga Ga are from the first night), some of which weren't on the VHS release. The snippet of the guitar solo is actually a section that was cut from the official release. Three songs were shown on TV in Brazil not long after the show (including the infamous version of I Want To Break Free). In 1985, Hammer To Fall from this show was released in the UK as a 12" promo single. Bits of the Rio footage were used in the promo video for One Vision later in the year. The audio of the official release was broadcast on MTV FM on February 15, 1986. In 2007, Masterplan released the same 60 minutes of footage on DVD, but it seems to be a pirate copy. The picture on the cover was taken on The Game tour. It's A Hard Life and Is This The World We Created from this show were released on disc 2 of the 2011 deluxe edition of The Works. Freddie's vocal flub in the former was patched in with the second night, and compression and reverb were added to the drums. In 2015 Globo TV aired an hour long special commemorating the 30th anniversary of the festival, including clips of Under Pressure and Love Of My Life - both of which were not seen on the official release. One notable piece of commentary is from Brazilian singer Eduardo Dussek, who remarks (in Portugese) that families, rockers, and the metalhead headbangers all accepted the band." As mentioned above, a virtually complete video of the show has leaked into collectors' circles, although it is many generations from the master. The picture quality is acceptable, but the audio is far from great. Only a few seconds of Under Pressure are missing. As impressive as the sizes of these audience were, they were far from the largest ever at a concert in Rio. An estimated 3.5 million people came to Copacabana Beach on New Year's Eve in 1994 when Rod Stewart was playing, the largest audience ever for a concert anywhere in the world - although, to be realistic, not everyone was there to see the show, considering which day of the year it was. A technical note - in Somebody To Love, Killer Queen, and Seven Seas Of Rhye, Spike Edney now plays along with a few vocal lines with a vocoder, which practically drowns out Brian and Roger's backing vocals in these songs for the rest of the year. Here are two pro pics from the first night:
The last picture above is a screenshot from The Magic Years VHS. Although it's seen during the Magic Tour documentary, it's actually a Works tour setlist from 1985 - but the piece of paper is originally from August 1984, as Staying Power, Stone Cold Crazy, and Great King Rat are crossed out, and the second half of the show has been revised many times (Sheer Heart Attack wasn't officially ousted, though!).

Happy Anniversary “Collision Course”! (November 30, 2004)
Collision Course is a collaborative album from American rapper Jay-Z and rock band Linkin Park, released on November 30, 2004 by Roc-A-Fella, Machine Shop, Warner Bros. and Def Jam records.
From Linkin Park's catalog, Collision Course features three songs from Meteora and four from Hybrid Theory. From Jay-Z's catalog, it features three songs from The Black Album, one from Vol. 3: Life and Times of S. Carter, one from Vol. 2... Hard Knock Life and one from The Blueprint.
Before the album, Jay-Z had released collaborations with The Roots and R. Kelly, and Linkin Park had collaborated with various artists on their remix album Reanimation. The album was inspired by The Grey Album by Danger Mouse, which was a mash-up album between Jay-Z and The Beatles. MTV had originally planned on mashing up only one or two songs, but the project was eventually expanded to a six-song album. The album was mostly produced by Mike Shinoda and Jay-Z, and was recorded between July 16 and July 19.
The album spawned one single, "Numb/Encore" which eventually won Best Rap/Sung Collaboration at the 2006 Grammy Awards.
Due to its short running time at 21:18, with six tracks in total included on the disc, the release has been identified as an EP. All of the tracks included are mashups combining songs by both artists.
The DVD contains behind-the-scenes new footage of the making of the album, as well as the second take of all of the Collision Course songs at The Roxy Theatre on July 18, 2004. Also included are the five scenes from the concert shown on MTV Ultimate Mash-Ups and a picture gallery.
The first single released from the EP, "Numb/Encore", achieved significant airplay on the charts, and stayed on 6 months after its release. "Points of Authority/99 Problems/One Step Closer" was also released to the radio in the US, but was never featured on the Billboard Charts – the videos for both that track and "Jigga What/Faint" were also seen on Kerrang! in the UK. "Izzo/In the End" was also heavily promoted on the official Linkin Park websites.
It is the second EP ever (after Alice in Chains' Jar of Flies in 1994) to top the Billboard 200, going on to sell over 300,000 copies in its first week.
Mike Shinoda revealed in his 2004 Grammy acceptance speech that he would be mashing up with Jay-Z for a record under MTV's Mash Ups show.
The network allowed Jay-Z to choose a group or artist for the mash-up. Jay contacted Shinoda, who began experimenting with mixing the tracks before sending some examples to him. As a result, Jay-Z began working with Shinoda through email. The two decided that instead of combining the existing tracks for the live performance on MTV, they wanted to re-work and re-record parts of the songs to make them fit better. Shinoda explains, "Jay and I realized it's better to re-perform the rap vocals if you're gonna do it to a new beat because the vibe changes and you have to deliver your verse a little differently." Shinoda asked his bandmates to re-record instrumental and vocal tracks as well, and ultimately both parties decided they wanted to release the studio tracks. The entire album was put together within four days.
Collision Course was the first album of Linkin Park that contained a Parental Advisory sticker, since most of Jay-Z's verses contain profanity (although Shinoda and Chester Bennington are also heard using vulgar language on the album). This album was also made in an edited/censored version. Linkin Park wouldn't use profanities themselves until Minutes to Midnight in 2007. However, the clean version of the album left the words "bitch", "ass", and "hoes" uncensored, which means that "Izzo/In the End" is the same on the clean and explicit versions.
A year after the release of Collision Course, Jay-Z was the executive producer on Mike Shinoda's solo effort Fort Minor's The Rising Tied. Also, the song "High Road" from the same record talks about how some critics negatively received Collision Course.
Critics gave mixed reviews to Collision Course. David Jeffries of AllMusic praised the album, calling it "awesomely fun". K.B. Tindal of HipHopDX also equally praised the album, saying that the project "will open a passageway for artists who want to dare to be different as well as those who want to work hard to maintain that difference." Steve Juon of RapReviews called the album "an experiment which bodes well since for the most part these two artists compliment [sic] each other."
Meanwhile, Raymond Fiore of Entertainment Weekly, gave a negative review of the album, saying that the pairing of Linkin Park and Jay-Z "comes off like a sanitized nonevent."
The song "Numb/Encore", a mash-up of "Numb" by Linkin Park and "Encore" by Jay-Z, won Best Rap/Sung Collaboration at the Grammy Awards of 2006.

Why “folklore” By Taylor Swift Is Dominating
Just about a year ago, Taylor Swift released her seventh studio album “Lover,” the first record under Republic Records and the first album that she owns the masters to. “Lover” was the best-selling worldwide album of 2019, which was unsurprising, seeing how easily Taylor seems to hold records. It had four official singles, two of them (“ME!” & “You Need To Calm Down”) peaking at #2 on the Billboard Hot 100, the third single, the title track, peaking in the top 10. These are all incredible peaks for singles, but of course, greedy chart obsessions on the internet made an episode out of the first two singles not quite hitting #1, thanks to Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus’ TikTok smash “Old Town Road” spending a 17 week (And longest ever) run on the charts.
On July 24, 2020, Swift released her eighth studio album “folklore,” with 24-hour notice and no preliminary promotion, such as a single or promotional single release (Although, she did release the music video for “cardigan” simultaneously with the record and sent it to radios to act as the first official single). The record had 8 CD editions and 8 vinyl editions, as well as 1 cassette, all available for a week under preorder. Only available to purchase immediately at release time was digital downloads and the option to stream. Even so, it sold over 800k units in the United States within a week and became the best-selling album of the year (Which isn’t even over) and bested the previous record of over 400k. It sold just under the debut sales of “Lover,” which launched with a standard CD available for worldwide purchase and four deluxe editions exclusively at Target. The “lead single” (Even though it didn’t launch the era), “cardigan,” opened up at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. “Lover” only spent one week at #1 (Which is nothing to scoff at), and “folklore” is currently on its third week at #1, aiming for a fourth. With a more untraditional rollout, why is “folklore” already shaping up to be one of Swift’s most successful eras?
By ditching the long rollout and pre-release singles, there was no room for early judgment and possibly losing an audience. The first single from “Lover” was “ME!” Many audiences viewed the song as childish and rudimentary compared to Swift’s previous records, therefore it put a bit of a bad taste in people’s mouths about “Lover” as a whole (Although not to that many people, obviously, as it’s sales were astronomical). With “folklore,” audiences had no choice but to listen to all 16 tracks without prior judgment because they didn’t have a specific single(s) to make up their mind about. Although “cardigan” is now being promoted as single, it was simultaneously released with the record, there was no presumptive emphasis prior to the record.
The record is also classified as alternative, compared to “Lover’s” pop classification. There were two pop records in Swift’s discography prior to the release of “Lover.” A new genre brings new interest from new audiences to “folklore.”
The in-store physical CDs didn’t release until a week after the record’s digital release, meaning they added plenty of sales for the following weeks, and the CDs from her website are shipping currently, and when those are delivered, they will be counted as sales.
Taylor Swift can still dominate, as this record cycle has shown. What she does works, and the other management teams need to take notes.

FEBRUARY 2020 BC ENTERTAINMENT SCHEDULES & REVIEW
Members may earn 3 points each (up to 6 points) for writing, by the end of March 7 KST:
A solo para of 400+ words based on their monthly schedule (does not count toward your monthly limit).
A thread of six posts (three per participant, including the starter) based on the monthly schedule.
Threads and solos do not have to take place directly during an important date listed on the schedule, but must be related to what the muse is mentioned to be doing in the paragraph explaining their schedule/the company’s schedule for the month and/or their thoughts on the mentioned activities or lack thereof.
These schedules may be updated throughout the month if new information needs to be added.
Reminder: January schedule posts are due by the end of February 7 KST.
Overall Company
While everything remains as usual on the professional side of the company, on the much more personal side, CEO Kim Byungchul and his fiance of four years, Ma Seri, are finally tying the knot at the very end of the month with a lavish wedding and reception, almost a year after the birth of their first child. All BC artists are required to attend the wedding as they will performers for the wedding reception. The dress code is black tie and plus ones will not be afforded to the artists. All BC artists will also perform acoustic versions of one of their songs during the reception: Decipher will perform “Man In Love (0:00-2:47)”, BEE will perform “Hug Me Once”, Knight will perform “My Lady/My Turn To Cry/Moonlight/Call Me Baby (0:00-5:40)”, Lipstick will perform “Like A Cat (all members)”, CHARM will perform “Pretty U”, WISH will perform “What Is Love?”, and BC Soloist 1 will perform “Cosmic Dust”. All BC artists will come together to perform a version of Ma Seri’s former group R.A.D’s song “Eternal Love”.
Important dates:
February 10: Kim Byungchul and Ma Seri’s wedding and reception at Le Méridien Seoul in Seoul, South Korea.
BC Soloist 1
After her debut, her first round of comeback promotions shouldn’t be anything new. She’ll be promoting on music shows and fan signs, as well as filming a choreography video for Dingo. Her new song is even more well-received than her debut, proving she has more to offer than the buzz around her for being an ex-Gold Star trainee turned BC soloist. Her efforts and BC’s resources put into the comeback pay off well, so finishing promotions without a music show win yet isn’t a problem. To help model the line of NBA clothing in next month’s issue of Dazed, she’ll team up for a photo shoot with Unity.
Important dates:
February 1: Dingo Dance Choreography video filming.
February 3: Fan sign in Gangnam, Seoul.
February 7: Fan sign in Mapo, Seoul.
February 13: Dazed Magazine March Issue photo shoot with Unity.
February 17: Fan sign in Goyang.
February 24: Fan sign in Busan.
February 29: End of music show promotions.
Decipher
Their Japanese comeback has been recorded and there’s no choreography for the title track, so the time they would have spent learning that is instead spent rehearsing a song for an appearance on Two Yoo Project: Sugar Man. While they’ll lose the competition to their juniors, their performance is still well-received and they’re still considered reliable vocalists and performers as they near their twelfth anniversary. A special fan sign based on new Decipher merchandise released by BC has been organized, cliche pink and red decorations and expected fanservice for the special day included. Then, at the end of the month, they’ll shoot the music video for their Japanese comeback
Important dates:
February 7: Two Yoo Project: Sugar Man filming (also appearing: Knight, to be aired: February 21).
February 14: Valentine’s Day fan sign in Mapo, Seoul.
February 21: “LUV” MV filming.
↳ Decipher R & V
No schedules for the month.
Important dates:
N/A.
↳ CHAMPION
With the album all recorded, that means it’s time to learn the choreography for “Jopping” and “I Can’t Stand The Rain”, the main performance tracks, but the applicable members will need to learn choreography for “Super Car”, “2 Fast”, and “No Manners” as well. Dance rehearsals will be done at BC Entertainment’s building as the dance studios there are larger, and near the end of the month, BC will leak pictures and video of all of the CHAMPION members arriving at the building to spark discussion before the sub-unit is officially announced in a few months. For three days, all six members of CHAMPION will be sent on a bonding retreat in Jeonju to strengthen their bond as unit members. This is a genuine effort on the companies’ parts to create better group chemistry, so the will not be filmed during the retreat, although a manager from each group will accompany them on the trip.
Important dates:
February 22-24: Bonding retreat in Jeonju, South Korea.
BEE
Their contract as Mise En Scene ambassadors is coming to an end soon and it appears as though the brand won’t be offering a contract renewal as they seek out a younger group, so the BEE members will do some final fan signs for the brand and record a song for and film another CF. Besides that, they’ll continue practicing for their comeback this month and will attend fittings as well as the music video filming.
Important dates:
February 2: Mise En Scene fan sign in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul.
February 9: MV and stage outfit fittings.
February 16: Mise En Scene CF filming.
February 17: “I Like That” MV filming.
February 23: Mise En Scene fan sign in Gangnam, Seoul.
↳ 2BEE
Though they were already told about plans for the sub-unit last month, BEE’s leader/main vocal/rapper and main rapper/main dancer/sub vocal are called into a meeting with management at the beginning of the month where news of their sub-unit is officially announced to them. In a year filled with sub-unit attempts by the company, BC honestly wants a way to bring more of BEE’s digital power to their name without overexposing the full group with too many comebacks. The unit will debut with only a single, “Ma Boy”, which they’ll record and learn the choreography for this month.
Important dates:
N/A
Knight
Knight ends music show promotions without any wins and both a chart performance and physical sales that pale in comparison to their usual, something management is clearly not too happy about, but they’ll have a chance to make up for it with tour profits beginning again next month. At the end of the month, Knight will be required to refresh themselves on the set list for their tour in rehearsal, but until then, they have a photo shoot and interview for Singles Magazine and will be making an appearance on Two Yoo Project: Sugar Man (admin note: Wooseok’s lines will be split between the leader and the maknae, and the main dancer/vocal gets Shinwon lines), competing against Decipher. They’ll win their episode.
Important dates:
February 7: Two Yoo Project: Sugar Man filming (also appearing: Decipher, to be aired: February 21).
February 8: End of music show promotions.
February 9: Singles Magazine March issue photo shoot.
February 28: Release of Enough English Ver. Live Performance Video.
↳ White Knight
No schedules for the month.
Important dates:
N/A
↳ CHAMPION
With the album all recorded, that means it’s time to learn the choreography for “Jopping” and “I Can’t Stand The Rain”, the main performance tracks but the applicable members will need to learn choreography for “Super Car”, “2 Fast”, and “No Manners” as well.
Lipstick
Ahead of the release of their Japanese album next month and concerts in Japan following that, the Lipstick members will be in the dance practice studio to learn choreography for select b-sides off of the album, “Dress To Kill”, “Ms.Independent”, “Triangle”, and “In The Moonlight”. Members with a lower level of Japanese proficiency will also need to begin taking occasional lessons with a tutor to brush up their skills for potential interviews, show appearances, and fan interactions since it’s been a while since Lipstick promoted in Japan.
Important dates:
February 12: Release of “Shh” Japanese single.
↳ Lip Gloss
No schedules for the month.
Important dates:
N/A
CHARM
After coming back on the third, the month is filled with music show promotions and fan signs. They’ll also shoot some videos for Dingo and hold a mini-fanmeeting near the end of the month. The fan meeting will involve performances as well as talk sections. As far as their comeback, the physical sales are wildly impressive, eventually surpassing the sales of nearly every group in the industry other than Origin and Knight, but their last two singles have shown a noticeable decrease in digital performance, signaling to the members and the company that their maturing concept may not click with the public as much as it does their dedicated fans.
Important dates:
February 3: Release of “Fear” & An Ode showcase, promotions continue until March 3.
February 8: Fan sign in Gangnam, Seoul.
February 9: Fan sign in Yeouido, Seoul.
February 11: Dingo Move Rec video and Out Of Nowhere Interview video filming.
February 12: Fan sign in Sangam, Seoul.
February 14: Fan sign in Sangam, Seoul.
February 23: Ode To Youth mini fanmeeting at Mokdong Roun Hall in Yangcheon, Seoul.
↳ CHARM U
The members of CHARM U will continue to rehearse the song a few times this month, but the full group’s comeback takes priority over any schedules for them during February.
Important dates:
N/A
WISH
As major awards season comes to an end, WISH is pushed into comeback preparations. Other than an appearance at The Fact Music Awards on the last day of the month, they won’t have any public appearances in February while they work on preparing all of their music for the first half of the year. This means learning the choreography for their new Korean title track (admin note: this would be a version of the choreography that includes the lead vocal/lead dancer) and going back into the recording studio once again to record the new songs on their next Japanese album. They’ve also been chosen as faces of MLB Korea this year and will begin their duties this month with a CF.
Important dates:
February 9: MLB Korea S/S 2020 CF filming.
February 29: Performance at The Fact Music Awards at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul, South Korea (also attending: Alien, 7ROPHY, Origin, Fuse).

A crash course of all the evidence of Will Byers having powers
The easiest way to begin is by comparing Will to El.
They both could communicate through different dimensions (Will exploded 2 phones , El exploded a radio at the school). Both of their moms’ had “crazy aunts” - powers are genetic. Both had their brain waves monitored at the lab and their measurements were off the charts, plus they were being unknowingly recorded on video. El and Will are the only people who could touch, speak, and hear each other in the void. They both tore through walls (with that pink gunk between the normal world and upside down). They both can track others when concentrating -Will found Hopper, El found Will. Both communicated psychically by transferring their conscious- El to talk to Mike in his basement using the void (in s2) & Will to his mom in the living room (in s1). They are the only magical d&d characters (mage & cleric). When El uses her powers to their highest capabilities, her eyes turn red (at the end of s1 and 2 ) … so it’s interesting that when Will was fighting for control of his ownbody his eyes went from hazel to black. And in s1, Will’s storyline is all about him communicating through flickering/shining lights- and when El uses her powers lights always flicker. Also before Will goes missing , he asks Dustin for his X-men comic- later in reference to El ,Dustin asks “Do you think El was born with her powers like the X-men?” And when Mike says El is “channeling him (Will)”. Dustin says “like professor x”. clearly hinting that they were both born with powers, like the X-men.
In s1 Will was described to be “shadow walking” In D&D Shadow walking is – “ largely illusory, but quasi-real. characters can use this spell to travel rapidly by stepping onto the Plane of Shadow, moving the desired distance, and then stepping back onto the Material Plane.” This quote perfectly summarizes Will’s power - which he was shown to be using in s1 & s2 (before his possession)- he can be partially-present and can physically interact with both dimensions at the same time. This explains how he was standing in the real world next to Mike in the field, while the mind flayer took possession of him in the upside down version of the same field.
Also, in the show, the only people who have powers are women: Terri, Kali, and El. However, in the cannon prequel novel “suspicious minds” Terri, Alice, Gloria, and Ken have powers. So as of now, Ken is the only guy in the ST universe who has powers … and he just so happens to be gay . And people suspect Will is gay... so... on to the next point XD
The show and comic hint Will had dormant powers or used them and was unaware he was doing so (before the upside down incident). He sent himself accidentally to the upside down (the lightbulb glowed just like all the lights in Hawkins did when El closed the gate in s2) also El accidentally sent herself there too. The comic heavily implies Will was born with several powers (similar to how El has multiple powers). His may be shadow walking, teleportation, and invisibility. All 3 of these powers in D&D are powers of a wizard/sorcerer - which is synonymous with the term mage (which is used to describe El). Also, in the show the password Will picks for castle byers is ‘Rhadagast’ (a wizard in lord of the rings). According to D&D invisibility is a level 1, teleportation is level 5, and shadow walking is a level 6 in order of increasing difficulty. However, It wasn’t until Will’s possession that Will truly became a cleric (which I’ll explain in detail later). Will always had powers and was unaware he was using them (before the upside down incident)- the only powers he used at the time were invisibility and teleportation .Do you guys remember when Jonathan said Will was “good at hiding” cause teleportation and invisibility seem like something a kid who hid from his abusive father might of used accidentally A LOT!
However after his possession, Will becomes a cleric. “Clerics are given their powers by a god” (in this case he would have been given similar powers to the mindflayer). So will is going to be OP as F***!
Unfortunately, like El, he’ll become a target of Dr. Brenner and the government, in order to become government weapon/spy. I posted a detailed theory about how Will and El will be kidnapped by the government in the s3 finale (with photo evidence). And, the Will Byers’ comic even references the book “house of stairs” and Dr Brenner on the same comic book page. The book is about kidnapped teenagers who are brainwashed (by a psychiatrist) into being weapons for the government.(Don’t worry, the stand ins for Will and El end up being ok).
Also, for those who are aware of all the “official” cannon (outside -show material, such as the) books/comics/yearbooks etc .Did you know on sept 24th 2019 the book ‘Will Byers: secret files’ will be released (cause that’s suspicious). The description states “Read notes from the Upside Down and uncover secrets from the Hawkins National Laboratory in Will Byers's personal files.” These bastards literally have a file of him!
So, yeah, thanks for coming to my Ted talk. Will Byers has powers, and Ya’ll can fight me XD

Daily Monsta X’s 1st survey
These are the official results for the survey conducted from Daily Monsta X. The survey form was open from November 2018 to February 2019, and a total 539 individual responses were collected.
Response data from all questions will be given here. At the end of the post, we will list all the questions in the extensive survey, as well as a link to the results spreadsheet.
Disclaimer: Results are not representative of the fandom, and should not be taken as such. This survey was conducted purely for fun.
Please note the survey was conducted before the release of Take. 2 We Are Here (and thus before Alligator) so it does not feature as a response on any of the questions. Jooheon is also used throughout, as he had not yet taken the stage name Joohoney at the time.
Results are under the cut.
Responses shown in bar graphs/charts allowed multiple options to be chosen; those in pie charts allowed only one answer.
Favourite overall comeback
Shoot Out was the winner for favourite overall comeback, with Beautiful a close second and Dramarama third. I tracked the results for this answer, and Shoot Out and Beautiful were in close competition throughout, but in the end, Shoot Out took the win.
Favourite comeback song
Beautiful won this question, with Dramarama getting second and Jealousy and Shoot Out winning joint third. All In missed out on top 3 by 6 votes. Some songs, like Jealousy, Hero, and Stuck, won more votes for favourite song than they did for favourite comeback. Overall, competition was tougher in this category.
Favourite MV
Dramarama placed first, followed by All In, then Beautiful. Story-line MVs were comparatively more popular, although Fighter got fewer votes than expected.
Bias
I.M won most votes for bias (favourite member), followed by Wonho and then Jooheon. Don’t have a bias/all seven was also a very popular option, coming in 4th.
Bias wrecker
No bias wrecker/all seven was the most popular response, followed by I.M and then Kihyun. Wonho, who placed 2nd for bias, came 3rd for bias wrecker. I.M was most popular bias and bias wrecker.
Favourite ship
(Due to the large number of options, I had to compile these results in MS Excel)
Most popular response was I don’t ship/no ship. Most popular ship was HyungWonHo (Wonho and Hyungwon), followed by JooKyun (Joohoney and I.M). JooHyuk (Minhyuk and Joohoney) was third most popular ship. Nearly every ship was entered in others, but KiHyuk (Minhyuk and Kihyun) were the most popular among these.
Favourite concert unit
From Zero (Wonho and Hyungwon) got first for favourite concert performance unit, with Versace on the Floor (Shownu and Jooheon) getting second and How Long (Hyungwon and I.M) getting third.
Favourite release (album, mini album)
The Connect was voted most popular release, followed closely by Are You There?. The Clan pt 2.5 came in third, a fair number of votes behind.
Favourite promoted B track
Criteria for the options was being performed on music shows, but not as a title track. From Zero easily took first place. Second was Be Quiet, followed by Myself. This was one of the few categories Monsta X’s earlier work (Hero (album version)) got a fair amount of votes, coming fourth.
Favourite Japanese song
Livin’ It Up took first place, Spotlight second. Combined, these two options took almost 90% of the votes.
Favourite Jooheon song
Songs composed by Joohoney, not including his solo work. This was one of the most even distributions of votes, with the highest votes not exceeding 19%. First place was In Time, second White Love, narrowly beating Special. This is another category where earlier works (Blue Moon, Gone Bad) got comparatively more votes.
Favourite Wonho song
The least even distribution of votes. From Zero won almost half the votes. Second place, Oi, got roughly half. Third was If Only.
Favourite mixtape track
Options included both Joohoney and I.M’s mixtapes. Only solo-released tracks and those with MVs were counted. I.M’s Fly With Me got most votes, narrowly beating Joohoney’s Red Carpet. Combined, these two songs got nearly 70% of the votes. Third ranked I.M’s Who Am I.
Favourite OST
All songs released by members, either all seven or as solos, used in original soundtracks of dramas or games. First ranked Love Virus, narrowly edging The Tiger Moth. Can’t Breathe came third, winning around half the votes of each of the first two.
Favourite special clip
Hero (rooftop version) won most votes, followed by Stuck and then Beautiful (acoustic version). Earlier releases got most votes in this category, with the top two coming from the first three releases.
Favourite self-cam
First place for self-cam (or self-filmed) MV was Tropical Night, second Perfect Girl and third Rollercoaster. Vote distribution was relatively even in this category.
Favourite story line MV
First place with near 40% of the vote was All In, followed by Dramarama and then Destroyer. The other options got a combined 8% of the vote, a very small percentage.
Favourite variety
Monsta X-Ray is easily the most favourite voted variety, with first season getting first, second season getting second and third season with third.
Favourite female character
Dodo (Hyungwon) was first place voted female character, followed by Dior (Minhyuk) and then Wonhee (Wonho). Female characters from the rural village episode were comparatively less popular, with the exception of Wonhee.
Favourite skit couple
Another near landslide victory, with Namjoo x Yeojoo (Shownu and Kihyun) winning first, followed by Sandong x Minji (Kihyun and Jooheon), and then Hangyeol x Dior (Shownu and Minhyuk).
Following survey questions focused on the respondents.
Age
Majority of respondents, more than 40%, ranged from 18 to 22 years. Next most common age range was 13 - 18, and then 22 - 26. Very few respondents were outside the age range 13 - 40.
Location
Over half the respondents live in North America. Next most common region is Europe, followed by South East Asia. Together, these regions counted almost 90% of the total responses.
Language
Most of the respondents spoke English as their first language, taking final count as roughly 60% to 40%.
Source of updates
Majority of respondents got their Monsta X updates from tumblr, and second-most from Twitter. Together these were more than 400 out of the 539 responses. Instagram came third. As the survey was conducted on tumblr, results might have been skewed towards the site.
Introduced: how
Majority of respondents were introduced to Monsta X through their MV on YouTube. The second most common way was by a friend, followed by through a meme or funny video. There were a varied number of responses entered under others, including through live performances, YouTube reviews, etc.
Introduced: when
Most respondents became fans in the Dramarama and Jealousy eras, followed by Beautiful era, and then Rush and Hero era. No.Mercy and debut (Trespass) era converted relatively fewer fans.
Fan content
Most respondents, over 60%, are do not create content. The most common created content is fanfiction, which has around a third of the votes of non-creators, followed by graphics/photo edits/memes, and then gifs.
One word descriptions
Shownu: Most common response was Bear. Others like Dad (or variations thereof, like father, fatherly) and Leader were also very popular, as were attributes of him such as shy, humble, etc.
Wonho: Most common response was Soft. Most responses were on the more innocent side. Bunny (and squishy) were common as well, as was Sweetheart and Angel.
Minhyuk: Most common response was Sunshine, by a large margin. Other common responses included Extra (and similar), Adorable (surprisingly, very few instances of cute), as well as energetic, moodmaker, etc.
Kihyun: Most common response was Mom. Most responses were like this, with traits associated with mothers (fussy, gentle, etc.). Accordingly, Caring was a very popular response. Another very popular response was Talented (or vocals, vocal king, similar words).
Hyungwon: Most common response was Meme. Handsome was popular as well (along with ethereal and beautiful). Another common response was Prince.
Joohoney: Most common response was Cute. Similarly, adorable was also very popular, as was Honey. Another very common response was Talented, as well as Charismatic (and similarly, powerful).
I.M: Most common response was Baby. A large number of responses also stressed on how he was Eccentric (unusual, unpredictable, weird, etc.). Deep (and introverted) also featured a number of times.
Monsta X: Most common response was Family. There were a lot of responses in this vein (connected, brothers, united, etc.). Perfect/Flawless was also a common answer, as was Talented and Extra (and synonyms of such).
Favourite song
Many, many different responses were received. The most common answer was Beautiful. Second most popular song was easily Lost In The Dream. Other popular answers included From Zero, Underwater, and Destroyer.
Discussion
Overall, older comebacks tended to garner fewer votes, with some exceptions. Trespass and Rush were comparatively unpopular overall, but certain individual tracks from those eras were popular.
Although efforts were made to have the results as unbiased as possible, there were many sources of error. Firstly, most of the respondents found the survey through tumblr, which explains its high rank as a source of updates. Secondly, most of the admin’s fandom circle are writers, which could be why fanfiction is found as the most popular produced fancontent. Most importantly, the sample size is very small compared to Monsta X’s fanbase, so results are obviously not indicative of the fandom as a whole.

Fun Jade/Rose Facts (Well... facts.)
Note: These facts are divided between “In-Comic” (Everything from Page 1 of Homestuck (A young man stands in his bedroom...) to page 8128 (The End) and “The Credits” (Pages 8129-8130). If I update this after the Epilogue, we’ll... cross that bridge when we get there.
In-Comic Jade/Rose Facts
Jade and Rose have only five conversations in the entire comic.
1 2 3 4 (2 pages) 5 (2 pages)
Conversation #4 is repeated. We see it first from Jade’s POV, then from Rose’s.
The number of conversations goes up to six if you count GrimBark Jade saying “Bark” and “Hey guys long time no see” to the assembled group in Act 6 Intermission 5 - but since Rose says nothing back, I am not counting this as a conversation.
You may do so if you wish.
After removing dialogue tags (like “TT”) and Pesterlog archival data (“ceased pestering” etc), their shortest conversation is their fourth at 80 words long.
Their longest one-on-one conversation is their third at 571 words long.
Their longest conversation is their fifth. It features Doc Scratch, and runs some 1,170 words long.
All told, about 2,711 words are exchanged in one-another’s chat windows. Discounting Doc Scratch’s intrusion into their final conversation, they speak 2324 words to one-another.
If you are counting the Grimbark conversation, add another 7 words.
6 if ‘BARK” is more of a sound.
By contrast, this single one-page Fruity Rumpus Asshole Factory exchange between Dave, John, and Karkat runs some 2188 words - over a thousand words longer than any single Jade/Rose conversation, and only some 136 less than their entire conversation history.
Rose never speaks a single word to Jade aloud.
Rose never uses Jade’s name in conversation with her.
Jade and Rose "share the screen” 15 times during the comic. (I have excluded both Caliborn’s ‘Homosuck’ cutouts and his Plasticine maquette because A) they are facsimiles of an event recited by an even-more unreliable narrator than usual, not the real thing, and B) Seriously: Fuck That Guy)
One of these on-camera appearances was ret-conned out of existence.
In only seven of these appearances are both Jade and Rose conscious.
Here are all their on-camera appearances:
Act 6 Intermission 5
(Don’t think I ever noticed Gamzee hiding in the background before.) Act 6 Act 5
Act 7
(It’s tough to tell but I think the above photo is the closest Rose and Jade ever get in the comic.)
Rose never speaks to Jade again after their fifth conversation in Act 5 Act 2.
Rose and Jade do not converse for the entirety of Act 6.
Rose and Jade do not converse for the entirety of Act 7
Going off “page math” alone. here are some fun facts about Jade and Rose conversations:
5% - or about 1/20th of the comic - passes before Rose and Jade speak.
Rose and Jade spend 39% - 39/100ths - of the comic “in-touch” with one another.
They spent the remaining 56% of the comic not talking.
Rose and Jade spend approximately 61% of Homestuck not in-contact, not in-touch with one another.
Counting the repeat conversation and a single still panel, there are only 9 pages in Homestuck where Rose and Jade are talking.
0.11072834645669291% of Homestuck - 5,536,417,323/5,000,000,000,000ths - (5.5 milliard billionths of the comic - 5.5 billion trillionths for our American readers. ~11/10000) is devoted to Rose and Jade’s “on-screen” relationship. And that’s counting a repeat conversation and a silent panel.
Rose and Jade “share” the screen - either while message-conversing or literally “in the same shot” in 20 pages of Homestuck.
That’s 0.24606299212598426% of Homestuck. About 24,606,299,213/10,000,000,000,000 (~1/400ths) of the comic.
Homestuck contains about 817,612 words.
Jade-Rose conversations all together comprise some 2779 words, taking into account that the fourth conversation is repeated twice.
Jade-Rose conversations comprise approximately 0.33989227163984875% of Homestuck’s text.
That’s 8497306791/2500000000000ths
Credits Jade/Rose Facts
There is no canonical evidence that Jade attended Rose’s wedding.
Seriously - she’s not there in the pictures. When all the kids are lifting the bride and bride up on chairs as part of the “thing done during the horah that isn’t actually part of the horah guess who just did a deep dive into the history of the horah did you know it’s from Greece via Romania and only dates back to 1930 as a traditional pan-Jewish custom it’s kind of like clan tartans in that it’s a cultural touchstone that feels ancient but isn’t” she’s... absent. Jake is in the picture twice once at the top, once in trickster mode on the bottom. Jade Harley: had better things to do than go to Rose’s wedding?
Jade and Rose are the only two kids to never be shown with Trickster modes.
This following photograph is the only conversation Rose and Jade ever have in-person in all the Homestuck franchise. It is their only moment of contact after Act 5 Act 2. We have no demonstrative way of proving that they ever conversed in-person before John’s 18th birthday party on Earth-C:
This is their only verbal conversation, and their only conversation to go textually unrecorded.
We have no way of proving that this is not Rose and Jade burying the hatchet after a... four year feud after Jade clumsily let Rose know her mother had been brutally murdered.
This is 1.3297872340425532% of the entire credits video.
That’s 664893617/50000000000ths of the entire credits - because the only good joke is a cumbersome running joke.
BONUS: Snapchat Jade/Rose Facts
Welcome to the land of dubious canonicity. [Update 23/04/19: I’d like to note that I used this phrase before the Epilogues hit. Also, these are now officially outside of even the broader Homestuck meta-canon as far as anyone can tell. Radio silence on this remains aggravating. What were these and what did Andrew Hussie actually want?]
Do you remember the Snapchats? They didn’t stop being a thing or anything.
... well, they did, actually. Who knows if they’re canon any more. [Again: they are not]
That’s why this section is a bonus - its demi-canonical!
Man, remember when we were all excited that the future of Homestuck was going to be snapchats?
We were going to get so many snapped chats.
So many you guys.
Sigh.
Please no walking on the grass. That grass is only semi-canon. We are liable for damages with the rental company.
Jade and Rose appear together in one (1) snapchat photo:
I’m pretty sure this is the only Beta kids group shot in the entirety of Homestuck!
This Jade/Rose interaction comprises 1.5151515151515151% of all the snapchats.
That’s 946969697/62500000000ths.
That’s really all there is to say on the matter.
FAQ Will you cover the Epilogue?
I will, of course, update this most important resource if/when the Epilogue gives us any more Jade/Rose content. Statistically speaking, it won’t take up much space. You missed interaction [X]! Can I tell you about it?
Yes please! Thanks for letting me know, I will add it right away and update my maths.
You missed interaction [Caliborn’s Master Plan]! Can I -? You may not. This seems elaborate and kind of pointless - why would you do this? Because Jade/Rose is a ship and talking about the Jade/Rose friendship is a thing and I... uh... I didn’t get it. But now having done all this work I... ... I still don’t get it. I always questioned Jade/Rose because I said to myself “they don’t really interact much,” and now that I’ve sat down and run the numbers they really don’t interact much. Now if you’re wondering “did you run though every single conversation looking for the times Jade mentioned Rose or Rose mentioned Jade” the answer would be “ha ha ha that would be crazy of course I did.” I am very tired. And... they don’t talk about each-other much. I mean ‘actually’ talk - I’m not counting all the “hey do you know what Rose/Jade is doing” questions asked between the kids or the trolls (though there’s not that many, really) - I’m talking about actual conversations, like when John talks about how he feels about having to marry Rose according to the Shipping Chart or Karkat mutters that Jade maybe kind of meant something to him once. Jade has this to say about Rose - talking to, of all people, Eridan: GG: rose? GG: i do not have a score to settle with rose!!! GG: why would you think that? CA: oh CA: wwell fuck CA: suppose i wwas guessin it wwas natural to presume somesuch relation like that betwween the twwo a you GG: i think you are projecting your own attitude on to others GG: just because you tend to hate and/or hit on everyone you meet doesnt mean everyone else is that way GG: rose just sent me a code for a crystal ball, shes my friend and is basically the best! It’s a very Harleybert sentiment. And sadly it doesn’t add up to anything. At the very least, Rose doesn’t think that much about Jade. Take it from me: a guy who literally went through every conversation Rose and Jade ever had with and about each other: Rose doesn’t think much about Jade. When Jade shows up sleeping at the end of act six lots of people talk about her: Rose’s only comment is to make a crack about Jade ending end-game ships when she wakes up, and also to note that there was Bird Dave and Dog Jade and Cat Rose but No [Animal] Egbert. That’s it. The most Rose ever has to say is the “she has the karma” conversation all the way back in Act 3 - and it’s still really about Dave. When GrimbarkJade shows up on LOLAR... Rose makes no comment whatsoever. Jade does not take the time to go see Rose when she wakes up in the ret-con timeline. Jade discusses Rose with John only in the context of John and his shipping chart destiny. Rose never seems to have anything to say about Jade to Dave or John. If these kids had had a normal sibling existence in the same high school and John had been hit by a car Jade would have remained friends with Dave but she and Rose would be revealed to not be all that close - their common point of friendship is John, not one-another. Rose talks about so much shit - but not about Jade. Jade might say Rose is “the best” but it’s Harley hyperbole more than anything: she didn’t even get Rose a birthday present because she says Rose is hard to shop for! Rose LaLonde is hard to shop for? What?
There. It’s an Emily the Strange t-shirt with Charles Dutton’s head. it took me ten seconds to come up with it you are welcome Jade. You want to ship Rose/Jade? Fuck yeah, man - go for it! You want to write an eighty thousand word fan-fiction on Rose and Jade: BFF Treasure Hunter Essayists? Sounds fucking rad please write that. You want to say that, canonically, Jade and Rose are great friends? I’m going to have to disagree. Homestuck is a story about four friends - it is not a story about four equally friendly friends. Maybe it was meant to be: not going to lie, I like Act 6 and the ending of Homestuck a lot but even I concede that Jade gets shafted in the “having shit to do” department - the fact that she sits out the big Giant Talky Session at the end of the comic? Weird as shit. If she was up and awake and had any kind of conversation with Rose where they seemed friendly and in-touch I would change my opinion in a heartbeat: I’m not some crank who hates Jade and Rose being best of friends because I’m a weirdo. I mean I am a weirdo but for other reasons, not this. No, I just don’t agree with the idea because it’s not supported by the text. Five conversations in seven acts? Less than 3,000 words exchanged in a document running into the hundred of thousands - and some of that repeat, and some of that the words of a giant cueball tool? If Andrew Hussie wanted us to believe that Jade Harley and Rose LaLonde are particularly close friends, he put no sign of that into the text. If I missed something please - tell me. Argue it with me, even, if you disagree with my assessment - or my math.I am not great at math. Regardless - reach out. We should talk about this more. Edit: Updated 10:38 EST April 12, 2019: corrected multiple typos, changed “dismissed” to “questioning,” clarified point about the horah to sound less weird.

“Will I get to you a little faster if I was the snow in the air?”
“Spring Day” is a song that stands out from BTS’ title track discography for various reasons: it has commonly been described as one of the group’s most beautiful songs and music videos, and its sound is softer than most title tracks that the group releases and promotes. The dance, too, leans towards contemporary style rather than hip hop or k-pop.
The effects of this combination can be seen clearly. As of February 25, 2019, the song was still charting on the Melon Weekly Chart with 106 weeks and still counting. It officially became the longest charting song by an idol or idol group.
But what makes “Spring Day” so special, even among BTS’ discography? Why is its longevity so stable?
youtube
At first glance, the music video and song are seemingly aimed towards the concept of “aesthetic”. Over or under-saturated scenes with strong color schemes. A nostalgic, yearning melody. A serenade about how the sorrow of missing someone is a personal winter, a plea for a loved one to wait a little longer until spring joins them again.
This simple message is meaningful for those of us who take meaning in it. However, there are more layers to the music, and that brings us to the symbolism and references in the video, which may connect to the Sewol Ferry Disaster of South Korea.
(Read more about the disaster here.)
Omelas
We start off with a reference (1:08, scene) to Omelas, the fictional town in the story “The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas” by Ursula LeGuin. In this story, Omelas is a utopia where everything is perfect and the people are happy. However, in order for everyone to be happy, one child must be kept in darkness and misery - similar to how the captain of the ferry told nothing to the group of passengers (which included about 250 high school students and thus children) about the status of the ferry; instead, the captain told everyone to stay put as he abandoned ship as the ferry was capsizing. Almost everyone who stayed died as a result.
Snowpiercer
The next reference is to the Snowpiercer train from the 2013 film of the same name. In this movie, the Earth is in an ice age and the only survivors are the inhabitants of the Snowpiercer. SPOILER: the survivors learn that children are being used as fuel, and at the end, the survivors leave the train, realizing that life exists outside. The lyrics (1:12, lyrics) send a message of being alone on a train that is constantly moving yet never going anywhere. This is much like how the passengers on the ferry were trapped in a sinking boat - it was moving, but they could not leave. Similarly, the relatives who were waiting on news of the trapped passengers must have felt stuck and unable to do anything.
The train itself can be interpreted as a vehicle for reaching the afterlife. A common theory in the music video is that the members of BTS are dead and ultimately reach the afterlife together after some separation.
“Passing by the edge of the cold winter, until the days of spring, until the flowers blossom. Please stay, please stay there a little longer.”
In the passage above, winter can mean the transition to the afterlife, or the time that the members had to wait to be together again.
However, the train can also stand for the concept of growing up and saying goodbye to one’s youth. Here is an excellent article that breaks down that interpretation.
Regardless of interpretation (of which the correct interpretation could possibly be all three simultaneously), we see the last of the train when the member emerge (4:39, scene). Depending on the interpretation you choose, this can mean emerging into acceptance of grief, the afterlife, or adulthood.
Yellow Ribbons
A possible symbol in the music video is the yellow ribbons tied to the carousel (3:12, scene). Yellow ribbons are used to bring awareness to suicide in South Korea, and they were also used as symbols of protest and solidarity regarding the Sewol Ferry Disaster. This support can be seen when the carousel is revealed to have the words “YOU NEVER WALK ALONE” written across the top.
In addition, the concept photo for this specific comeback/era of BTS used yellow.
Laundry and Clothing
Another symbol and reference is the laundry (and consequent clothing involved) shown in the video (2:25, scene). The clothing pile is based on the exhibit Personnes by Boltanski, with the meaning that clothing is all that’s left behind when someone dies. Lots of clothing means lots of deaths, like the deaths of the passengers of the ferry disaster. The clothing stacks up, and is impossible to clean all at once. You have to pay to launder a small load at a time, similar to how the government can never fully repay the relatives of those lost in the incident. Even today, not all bodies have been recovered.
Shoes, the Ocean, and the Tree
In Korea, it’s common for people to remove their shoes before committing suicide. The shoes in the video are first picked up in front of the ocean (2:19, scene). This is significant because it can be a direct reference to the lives lost to the ocean from the ferry disaster. In the aftermath of the incident, shoes of the victims of the sinking were placed by the harbor with messages written on and around them; shoes signify a person’s journey, so the relatives of those who died left the shoes where the victims’ journeys ended.
However, at the end of the video, we can see that the shoes are hung up in a tree (5:18, scene). This symbolizes death, because the shoes are placed high so that the owner can find them again after death (and possibly continue their journey in the afterlife). This can also mean that the owner of the shoes is in a higher place, once again referring to the afterlife and the sense of moving on.
Ultimate Takeaway
A song of missing someone and meeting them again, a song of growing up, a song of grieving, a song of criticism against the government - “Spring Day” is all this, and more. It will always have layers upon layers of meaning that we can’t hope to untangle completely, but this brief overview hopefully covered most of them.
This was the first song from BTS that I ever heard. It’s my favorite and most cherished song of all time, because I stumbled across this song during a time I was grieving lost family and friends. It’s a song about loss, and about healing and acceptance. It’s a song about hope. It’s a song about carrying on.
“아침은 다시 올 거야. 어떤 어둠도 어떤 계절도 영원할 순 없으니까 .”
“The morning will come again. No darkness, no season is eternal.”

BROKE WITH EXPENSIVE TASTE BY AZEALIA BANKS
This is one of the greatest female hip-hop album of all time, it experiences with different styles and sounds. It spawned the mega-hit ‘212′, no songs are fillers or give you the urge to skip (apart from ‘Nude Beach a Go-Go’). Banks puts different genres together and in my opinion is considered a masterpiece and easily beats any Nicki Minaj, Cardi B, Lil’ Kim, Iggy Azalea or Remy Ma album (no shade, just facts).
The Pinkprint? Hardcore? The New Classic? Invasion Of Privacy?
Sorry.. never heard of them only ‘Broke with expensive taste’
TRACK BY TRACK BREAKDOWN:
1. Idle Deliah
This track starts the album of with a electro style beat and lyrics that draw your attention.
Credit: Banks Twitter “Idle Delilah is the the daughter of a famed white slave owner in the 1900’s who was killed by her own father’s slaves. One day, the white man’s slaves grow tired of his bad treatment and decide to kill his favorite daughter Delilah as payback. So the dead Idle Delilah, the one I’m singing of in the song, is defined as a spirit of time. She represents procrastination. She lives behind doors and hides in garbage cans.”
2. Gimme a Chance’
starts of with a old school beat, lyrics “That's the way that our love can grow” which is directly sampled from Enon’s ‘Knock that door’ The song continues, Banks raps in Spanish and the outro features a male voice talking in Spanish.
This track was first shown on Banks' earliest mixtape, (’Fantasea’) Before the Expensive Taste, but with different verses. Both versions of the song sample ‘Knock That Door’ by indie rock band Enon.
3. Desperado
is my personal favourite, simply because of the hardcore rap, a perfect beat that fits and electronic effects. The beat and hook are from MJ Cole’s ‘Bandelero Desperado’, which is taken from his album Sincere.
Lyrics ‘Seductive Pup’ plays on one of the albums themes, which is referencing men as dogs, i.e. ‘Wallace’ and Album Outro ‘Miss Camaraderie’
4. JFK
is like a sequel to her previous song ‘Fierce’ found of her earlier mixtape ‘Fantasea’ this song starts with a mesmerising beat, seconds later Banks’ raps about looking and feeling expensive.
‘Lady in the floor’ is a vogue ball reference. She pays homage to her song ‘Fierce’ in the lyrics ‘it’s a ball, not a prom’
5. 212′
the debut song that sparked her career and made her a pioneer for female rap to this day, the catchy chorus ‘What you gon' do when I appear? When I premiere? Bitch the end of your lives are near This shit been mine!’ is about Banks telling her “competition” that their careers are over when she comes out.
watch the official music video here
6. Wallace
is a step up and can be consider one of her most catchy songs yet- at least in till her second studio album is released (confirmed release 2019) the continuation of her earlier mixtape ‘Fantasea’.
7. Heavy Metal and Reflective
is nasty (in a good way) provocative song, it symbolises her personality and the music video does not disappoint.
The starting lyrics ‘Fridgy Froze Kept It's that fresh bitch’ means she is a young and modern rapper; shes new to the game. The chorus ‘Ayo, you know well I'm with that Get Rich’ confirms that she gets money of her music. Lyrics ‘Find me in the borough If you thorough and that bread flip’ means you can find her in New York.
8. BBD
starts with a quick beat and she starts rapping about showing off her riches and styles on people who dislike her because of her status, She’s a high ranking money maker. The song is a anthem for strong and confident women.
The story behind this song is Banks posted this track online in January 2013. But at the time it was not confirmed for Broke with Expensive Taste, late the next year it ended up on the track listing.
9. Ice Princess
is probably the second song I heard of Banks, and I instantly fell in love. The song talks about stealing men and being a princess, its a simple ballad. The backing almost speaks to you, it has a winter vibe and could feels like it fits in a ‘Frozen’ film- well without the rapping.
Fact: This isn’t the only time Banks has made a winter themed song, in December 2018 she released her EP ‘Icy Colours Change’ on Streaming Services, Vinyl and CD.
10. Yung Rapunzel
is one of the more memorable tracks, It has a beat that draws you in followed with fast verses that make you want to dance. The chorus features extreme shouting, 50% may hate it, but the other 50% may think it fits.
I’m the second option, I'm a very hyper person and the chorus only hypes me more- it could due to yours personality or style of music.
11. Soda
Where do I start with this song? The music video is AMAZING! feels very 90′s. The Chrous makes me want to dance- well every song does.
WARNING: The song may not be about sodas but it will make you dance like a MAD MAN, usually like what a soda does to you.
12 Chasing Time
charted high on the BBH100 but popularity never measures true talent, something this song both goes above and beyond with. The lyrics I nay opinion, sounds like being stuck in some type of emotional degrading relationship, doesn’t matter what type it is Emotional, Physical, Sexual, Neglect it speaks to ANY negative relationship.
The chorus is catchy and makes me think, the raps are emotion (YES! with years of listening to hip-hop I have never heard of a rap that affects me emotionally).
13. Luxury
has shockingly amazing notes, (WHO KNEW SHE COULD ALSO SING) The chorus is odd, and makes an odds sound at the end, I copy it every time!
14. Nude Beach A Go-Go
ok, so I know she was experimenting but this song deserve to be fired into the sun, along with Cardi B’s mixtapes (once again, no shade just facts.) It sounds like a Pepsi advert, and not in a good way, I would never listen to this on a beach, this is an instant skip.
15. Miss Amor
is an easily forgettable song in the Azealia Banks library, but does not for a SECOND deserve to be discredited, the song had a great premise. When Miss Amor was going to be a single, its B-side was to be ‘Miss Camaraderie’ while that never happened, the two songs were still paired together as the last two tracks on Broke with Expensive Taste.
Credit: Banks Twitter “Miss Amor’ was about love post-heartbreak”
Fact: “Miss Amor” was to be the first single from Azealia Banks' debut album, Broke with Expensive Tastebut, according to Banks, after her record label Interscope heard the track “Yung Rapunxel,”, they made it the first single instead.
This song fits perfectly with the final song on the album:
16. Miss Camaraderie
The whole song is catchy and (once again) makes you want to dance. The song is pure bliss and happiness, the song deals with falling in love again.
Following from ‘Miss Amor’ story of being able to date after a heartbreak, ‘Miss Camaraderie’ is about being able to fall in love again post-breakup.
Song Ranking:
Heavy Metal and Reflective 10/10 Yung Rapunxel 10/10 Chasing Time 9/10 Miss Camaraderie 9//10 Desperado 9/10 212 ft. Lazy Jay 8/10 Ice Princess 8/10 Soda 7/10 Luxury 7/10 Miss Amor 7/10 Wallace 7//10 BBD 6//10 JFK 5//10 Idle Delilah 6.5/10 Gimme a Chance 6/10 Nude Beach A-Go-Go 1/10
Overall:
Overall, this album is high on my favourite albums of all time and I will have on repeat for years to come, this album is a pure piece of art, nobody is on Azealia’s level in the rap game eat the moment, nobody’s pen is better then hers (at least In female rap). Well, lets she if Banks can top this off with her high acclaimed second studio album ‘Fantasea II: A New Wave’.
The second half of the album step out of it’s shell and uses unique sounds from different genres and it manages to fit. Second half is a lot better then the first half. I do recommend this album to Hip-Hop fans, or even people who just want some songs to dance to.

Steven Universe Podcast: Volume 2, Episode 7: Earth Gems
Season 2, Episode 7 of the Steven Universe Podcast, released March 8, 2018, is about the so-called Earth Gems, and it covers Jasper, Bismuth, and Rose Quartz. The official description:
Rose Quartz, Bismuth, and Jasper are the focus of this episode of the Steven Universe Podcast as take a closer look at Earth Gems! Steven Universe creator Rebecca Sugar, former EP, Ian Jones-Quartey, Director Joe Johnston, and Supervising Director Kat Morris detail Bismuth's origins (including how she came to be in Lion's mane), Jasper's personality development, and Steven's complicated view of his mother, Rose Quartz. Discover which characters have been around since the pilot days, who was added as the series developed, and how Rose's storyline gets factored into each episode's planning.
Since as usual my summary is long, I will provide a highlights list followed by a cut which you can follow for a more in-depth narrative. Enjoy!
Highlights:
Jasper's main root as a character is her identity as a decorated soldier from humble origins.
Jasper, a so-called "perfect" Quartz from a Kindergarten known to produce flawed Gems, won't accept help from others because she's so determined to prove she's capable. She may be the best Gem from Earth, but she's still from Earth.
Joe Johnston was the artist who drew Bismuth's Gem bubbled in Lion's mane, but at that point they did not yet have the story of who she was figured out, though they did know there would be a "lost Crystal Gem."
Steven Sugar's tendency to add Gem artifacts into the world, most notably weapons, gave rise to the writers' need to give the Crystal Gems a weaponsmith, so Bismuth as a character grew out of that hole needing to be filled.
Bismuth adored Rose Quartz and was never allowed to understand why her leader rejected her contribution, which Rebecca and Ian compare to the trope of a villain mistreating her subordinates.
Bismuth, in Rebecca Sugar's words, was "screwed over" epically by Rose Quartz.
Rebecca and Ian specify that Rose was wrong to do what she did to Bismuth, and that it was significant because it's so clear for the first time that Rose could have made such a clear mistake.
Rebecca makes a lot of charts to help understand what story elements need to be doled out when.
Ian loves that Pearl tells us Rose has LOTS of secrets.
Rebecca loves that all of Steven's compassion actually comes from Greg. Steven is described as a compassionate warrior, with "compassionate" coming from Greg and "warrior" coming from Rose.
Jasper is a corny anime villain at first, and we can credit Paul Villeco's love of shonen anime and manga for this.
Joe Johnston finds it refreshing that Steven couldn't turn Jasper's alignment around, and says it's because Jasper held onto her anger and couldn't be forced to be someone else.
Jasper's tendency toward bullying is rooted in feeling heartbroken over the loss of Pink Diamond. She identified very strongly as a servant of her Diamond.
Joe and Kat are pretty sure that Lapis was Jasper's first fusion experience ever.
Joe Johnston often puts "breadcrumbs" in his episodes; he puts in stuff he doesn't have plans for and figures maybe it will be something later. Bismuth's Gem in Lion's Mane was not dictated by Rebecca Sugar like the tee shirt or Rose's flag; it was a Joe breadcrumb.
Twenty-two-minute episodes were the network's idea, not something the Crew specifically wanted to do.
Joe Johnston can't say enough good things about Uzo Aduba's voice acting as Bismuth; every read was "perfect," according to him.
Early character designs of Bismuth included black eyes (to indicate her Gem's inverted state) and some early designs had her with very skinny legs. She always had dreadlocks.
Kat emphasizes that Bismuth is not and was never intended to be "a bad guy." She has different ideology, and her episode shows a situation where the audience is meant to see the value of her point and nobody's 100% right.
Jasper and Bismuth are more different than similar, despite both being big and strong and partial to bludgeoning weapons. Jasper is highly respected and wants to preserve the order of the Diamonds, while Bismuth is a low-class blue-collar worker who has realized things don't have to be this way and dedicates herself to destroying that order.

McKenzie Atwood opens the podcast by explaining this episode's title: "Earth Gems" refers to three very different characters who are connected through the Gem War on Earth.
Rebecca Sugar and Ian Jones-Quartey on Jasper:
McKenzie asks Rebecca and Ian what effect they intended Jasper's arc to have on the audience. Rebecca says she really wanted Jasper to SEEM one-dimensional even though she isn't; her behavior has a "root" and we at first only get the foliage. We don't realize at first that Jasper has become involved in this plot due to her connection to Rose Quartz, feeling that she has unfinished business on Earth. Obviously her connection is quite personal even though she really doesn't show anyone those feelings.
McKenzie mentions Jasper being described on a previous podcast as a decorated soldier with humble origins, and Rebecca claims that description is Jasper's "everything." She's from Earth, but very different from Amethyst--Amethyst was from a pretty successful Kindergarten, while Jasper is from the worst Kindergarten on this awful failure of a planet. Jasper burns to prove her worth because everyone around her knows she's from Earth's Beta Kindergarten and therefore must be flawed on some level. Jasper feels she can never escape being associated with Rose Quartz even though she was supposedly the best thing that came out of Earth.
Ian remarks that Jasper chooses her words to show off pride and bravado, with no hint of the emotions beneath--that she feels she's fundamentally wrong and that she doesn't deserve the reputation she has. She thinks she's horrible, but Rebecca and Ian say they love her. Ian says Jasper is an example of how the system on Homeworld can fail Gems who don't quite fit the mold; externally she is a model Gem, but she never internally feels she deserves her reputation.
Rebecca Sugar and Ian Jones-Quartey on Bismuth:
McKenzie asks her guests to discuss when they started talking about introducing Bismuth. She mentions seeing the bubbled Gem in Season 1 (in "Lion 3: Straight to Video") and how fans recall that first exposure. Joe Johnston was the one who drew that in, knowing later they'd do SOMETHING with it, and then also there were early talks about a lost Crystal Gem. An early idea included Bismuth being not fully conscious, but they decided not to use it. They did figure out Bismuth pretty early on. Ian says Steven Sugar was always dropping weapons around the backgrounds, and they figured they needed a weaponsmith to explain where these things came from. From there, Bismuth was easy to develop. She's described as a "gooey center of the team."
McKenzie wants to know why they decided to unbubble Bismuth in Season 3. Rebecca says everyone's feelings about Rose Quartz were being examined at that point, and a turning point included the perspective that Rose could be a "really awful person." Ian likes the trope about a villain mistreating their subordinates, and wanted to show Rose as the person who was bad to Bismuth. Rebecca says Rose did such wrong to Bismuth--that Bismuth would have done anything for Rose, and when she came up with a weapon that supposedly served her agenda, she rejected it and rejected Bismuth for reasons she never understood.
Unlike Jasper's history with Rose being built on their being enemies from the start, Bismuth IDOLIZED Rose and was, as Rebecca says, totally "screwed over" by her. It breaks Rebecca's heart that Bismuth still speaks of Rose with such love, still crediting her for changing her life in such a positive way. Rebecca loves giving Bismuth "little triangular eyelashes" during the scene when she talks about what a difference Rose made for her.
Ian says Season 3 was the best time to include Bismuth's arc representing a break from the lore they've been establishing regarding the Crystal Gems' mission. From a writing standpoint, you have to build up the status quo for a while before you break from it. It would have had no meaning to reveal Bismuth earlier if you didn't already have an understanding of what it would mean to be a lost Crystal Gem and didn't already have some feelings about who Rose has been drawn up to be. Ian thinks of it as being one of the first "Rose wasn't perfect at all" stories. Rose was WRONG.
Rebecca also feels that this is a huge turning point for Steven because he is so confused and guilty over Bismuth, balanced against what he's been taught about his mother by his family. In "Mindful Education," he's shown to still be devastated by how he's failed Bismuth--he isn't afraid of her attacking him, he's disappointed in himself for being unable to help her. He knows he needs to carry baggage from a former life he didn't really live, but Bismuth was the first indication that he has inherited something "wrong with the Crystal Gems." McKenzie thinks it's interesting for a character who isn't present to have a character arc.
Rebecca Sugar and Ian Jones-Quartey on Rose Quartz:
When discussing pacing of all these story elements attached to who Rose Quartz was, Rebecca describes writing it like building a tower; they have to have given you all the pieces when they decide to reveal something so it will make sense when they tell that story, so they have to be very careful about the order in which they reveal the pieces. Rebecca makes a lot of charts. General ideas had to be developed into specific pieces of information they have to show us. The viewer doesn't get the story about Rose in order, either. Steven is told what he is "supposed to" think, but he slowly realizes how many revelations there are out there that revise his perceptions. This is complicated, Rebecca says, by the fact that half the people giving him information think he IS his mother.
Rebecca loves that everyone is SINCERE about how they talk to Steven about Rose, too; no one is actively trying to trick him, even though they may have incomplete information. Ian specifies that he loves that Pearl reveals Rose has a LOT of secrets. Rebecca specifies that Steven's compassion is all coming from GREG. Rose was interested in that; she knows she didn't understand it, but you see how she fails at compassion during "We Need to Talk." Steven is a compassionate warrior. The compassion is Greg's. The warrior is Rose.
Joe Johnston and Kat Morris on Jasper:
McKenzie was wondering about how animation is like acting with regards to writing dialogue or choosing expressions, and asks Joe and Kat to discuss this in relation to Jasper. Joe says they'd never had a traditional villain before Jasper, and despite that she is NOT really a traditional villain, she comes off as "menacing" and "corny" at the beginning. This is credited to Paul Villeco's love of shonen manga and anime--she's sort of a JoJo-inspired bad guy. (This refers to JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.)
McKenzie thinks it's interesting that Jasper is the first antagonist who has not been traditionally redeemed and converted to the other side. Joe thinks it's refreshing to have someone Steven wasn't able to recruit in his traditional way, and suggests it's because Jasper wanted to hold onto her anger. She didn't want to change, and couldn't be forced. Jasper has been told since she emerged that she was perfect, and that's what she wants to be--not Steven's band of uplifted flawed Gems. McKenzie asks if it was impactful for Steven to see Jasper refuse to be reached, and Paul thinks he didn't really get to process that since he also had a Pink Diamond-related reveal to deal with. Joe points out that Lars also stubbornly resisted Steven's influence for a very long time, though at least Lars hasn't tried to kill Steven. (Yet! No, that was a joke.)
McKenzie brings up how Jasper gets a lot of love from fans because she has so much beneath the surface, even though she isn't onscreen often. Kat says that's done by treating her like a person; no one is 100% evil all the time, and Jasper isn't evil so much as having a set of values that are not shared by the protagonists. Jasper bullies others because of her pent-up feelings, and she expresses her heartbreak over Pink Diamond's shattering through acting aggressively toward others. It made her relationship with Lapis really complicated, too.
McKenzie brings up "Jailbreak" and asks Joe to discuss his first time drawing Jasper in action. Joe says he was really ready to do it; there had been no "main antagonist" until Jasper and he really looked forward to it. He thinks they started boarding "Jailbreak" before "The Return." Kat thinks Jasper had been written some before they began work on "Jailbreak," but since Rebecca had pretty clear ideas about who she was, it was possible to board out of order. Some work had been done on Jasper before Paul had to board her introduction in "The Return." Rebecca sometimes writes a sheet with some character points and drawings for each new character.
McKenzie then brings up "Alone at Sea," asking Kat to discuss how different that was from "Jailbreak" where Jasper was a physical threat versus how she presented more as an emotional threat to Lapis in this later episode. Kat says she consulted with Rebecca and Hilary a lot to push this story out. Jasper has had a lot of time to think since hanging out in the ocean after her Fusion broke up, and now she's concluded she has a different perspective than she used to about fusion. Jasper realized she could become more powerful through fusion and became "addicted to it." In "Jailbreak" they just needed her to present as an uncomplicated villain (and they didn't have room for much more), but in "Alone at Sea" they could show the why, the how, of her actions.
Kat boarded acts 1 and 3--"the boat stuff," she says. She says there were many versions of the episode. They initially called the episode "Boat Murderer." The boat was supposed to keep breaking down and eventually you find out Jasper was doing it. The episode kept shifting until it became what it finally was. Kat usually doesn't board--"Alone at Sea" was, as she describes it, her stepping in as a pinch hitter. McKenzie asks about whether she had any issues with drawing Jasper, and she says she draws on every episode so it wasn't really anything new for her, especially since she was in charge of the arc associated with Amethyst's season 3 arc. Kat felt that Amethyst was due for some development after they'd already tackled some Pearl and Garnet stuff in the Sardonyx arc. Jasper was a great opposite to Amethyst in that arc because Jasper was big, strong, and a soldier--what Amethyst was supposed to be. She thought she was okay with not being what she was made to be, but then she gets "annihilated" in "Crack the Whip" and realizes maybe she's not okay with any of it. Steven helps bring her through that rough personal place.
Joe Johnston and Kat Morris on Bismuth:
Everyone agrees that they loved Bismuth on first sight. Joe brings up throwing Bismuth's bubble into Lion's mane in "Lion 3: Straight to Video." He had no plan at that point. Kat says Joe LOVES to do stuff like that, and calls them "breadcrumbs." He initially thought maybe it would have been a Gem device or a portable warp. They agree he didn't need such a thing because Steven is pretty OP actually. Rebecca wanted "pieces of lore thrown about the living room," so this was part of it. Rebecca then developed who Bismuth would be. McKenzie loves how before Bismuth's reveal, fans would wonder about who Bismuth might be whenever they'd see her Gem in Lion.
When prompted to discuss what they love about Bismuth, Kat says she loves how much Bismuth loves the Crystal Gems, and Joe loves how Bismuth and Jasper are both "patriotic" for their side. Joe likes to play with how Jasper and Bismuth are both so dedicated to their cause. (It is agreed that a shouting match between them would be very loud and not end well.) McKenzie wonders how difficult it is to develop such a big character, and Joe describes having a chance to all have a pass at the character to finalize new characters. They credit Lamar with her humor and how her voice is delivered, and Kat thinks it's really cute when Bismuth was getting emotional.
McKenzie brings up "Bismuth" being the first 22-minute episode and the 99th/100th episode, and asks how that's different from the usual 11-minute episodes. Kat says there's more post to do. Joe thinks it's twice as hard. Kat says there are more board artists to "wrangle" and more picture to lock, sound effects to add, etc. Joe felt it was harder to adjust to the flow of 22 minutes after being used to squeezing for 11 minutes, and that sometimes it almost seemed like too much time, but Kat also likes that it could "breathe" a little and have some important quiet moments. They think the little bumpers were Joe's idea, but he says he won't take credit for the idea--just for drawing them.
McKenzie wants to know about the decision to do a 22-minute episode, and Joe and Kat said it was the network's idea; they wanted at least two half-hour specials, maybe three but they only got to do two. (The other was "Gem Harvest.") They then discuss having a special guest voice actor for an episode like this. Joe heaps praise on Bismuth's voice actor Uzo Aduba, saying every read she gave was perfect. Kat says it's disappointing when they can't meet great voice actors like her because their involvement is so brief.
Kat remembers Bismuth's initial character design having black eyes, intending to reflect the style of her inverted Gem, but they scrapped the design because it looked too suspicious. Joe says Bismuth was written to be very aggressive and gung-ho and got "put away" for how she expressed that. They recall Bismuth always having dreadlocks (they may not have always been rainbow), but some designs having very skinny legs early on. (Same with Smoky Quartz.)
Kat wants to specify that Bismuth is NOT a bad guy whatsoever; she just has a different ideology. Her ideology is relatable, actually; she thinks half the audience probably agrees with Bismuth. Rose, being a "gray" character, punished Bismuth for not aligning with her own philosophy, but Kat and Joe think nobody was clearly right or wrong in the episode and that was the point of telling that story in the first place. Moral ambiguity is very important, and Rose isn't All Things Pure. Joe thinks Steven believed there was one "right" way to see the situation, but wasn't willing to fight Bismuth over it.
McKenzie asks Kat and Joe to say what is similar between Bismuth and Jasper. "Size," says Kat. Joe adds, "Muscles. Bludgeoning weapons." They're more different than the same; Bismuth is basically a blue-collar construction worker, in the dirt, while Jasper is a super-respected warrior. Bismuth rebelled when she found out she didn't have to be that way and wants anarchy, while Jasper wants the order to remain forever. Joe expresses that Bismuth's anarchist tendencies are cool, and Kat jokingly scolds him for inciting anarchy. But the Rule of Cool indicates that if something's cool, it's just cool, and it stays.
