Watched the Sunday service of the church in the DMV that a number my friends go to. The pastor was hilarious. They did baby/children dedications. He told one family who had 2-sons and were dedicating their daughter, "Ya'll going keep me in business." I laughed out loud.

Homebound
The current pandemic has reduced attendance for multiple churches across the nation. Fears of getting sick or spreading disease to their beloved ones have kept many people at home on Sundays during the pandemic. As the newborn boomer era ages, more people are bound to lose the capacity to observe services regularly. Churches that offer online services have helped people stay connected and give them a lifeline when needed.
Weekend workers
Large groups of people have never had the opportunity to attend church on Sundays. For many, a nine-to-five job is not part of their lifestyle, but that does not indicate they are not curious about joining a community. A benefit to beginning a virtual church is getting people who have never heard God’s message before. Virtual churches that share archived speeches on their website permit people to listen to the message on their time. This opportunity is perfect for workers in retail or medicine who rarely control their schedules.
New church members
Do you ever wonder how many people your community has lost after only one benefit? Many people will depart your church without obtaining the help they need simply because they are too shy to ask for service. Friendly church members are a fantastic start, but without an online opportunity where people can get their questions answered, your church may lose the chance to build these relationships.
Share inspiring videos
People have come to desire more because of advancements in technology. Since everyone has a smartphone, it brings only seconds to lose concentration. The distractions are continuous with readers and social media, so it may bring more than your average weekly sermon to keep your congregations interested.
Allows people to re-experience services
A good speech has many layers, and every moment you hear it, you may catch something new. Online church websites that convey an archive of their addresses allow parishioners to rediscover old sermons after a few weeks or even months. People who attend a speech after having occasions that relate to it will be impacted differently the second time. This new variation on a past address can help individuals become closer to God and the church.
Encourages regular attendance
There are some Sundays when getting out of bed early to get to the community is a problem. Some weekends you would rather lie in bed and watch a speech in your pajamas. With a virtual church, you can provide just that.
Encourages online donations
The offertory plate is more delicate than usual, isn’t it? Fewer individuals have cash or bills on hand. If your church has not retained a text-to-give opportunity for parishioners, you have likely noticed a shortfall in funds. Online donation options give the congregation more convenient ways to give.
There are no downsides
Adding a virtual church is straightforward and doesn’t hurt your church. The time required to start a virtual church is limited at the start, and your community will appreciate the effort. In this day of 24/7 technology, a virtual church should be seen as necessary, not a nuisance.

the church in the coptic monastery of the virgin mary in bethlehem, palestine. this unique church is built inside of a cave tunnel which connects it to the nearby church of the nativity. the holy family is said to have passed through it during their stay in bethlehem. saint helena, who established churches across palestine during her time, is said to have established this one as well. the coptic archbishop of jerusalem purchased this and four nearby homes in the 1950s, establishing the monastery and re-establishing the church. today, the site is maintained by two nuns.

when i was a little kid (2000s era) i had this auntie and uncle, like, not blood related but they were friends of my mum so they got the title/the same respect yk? anyway sometimes we used to go over there on saturday nights so my mum could hang out and i could eat takeout and go pester the shit out of thier cool teenagers before they left for the club.
my uncle had this little closet like tiny room just off the main living area and in it was i shit you not *floor to fucking ceiling* along the walls pirated media. i acctually have no idea how they all stayed up? towers of colourful plastic cases reflecting the glow of this chunky old computer like sunlight through stained glass windows at church to my tiny mind. i loved it.
idk how he did it but this man could get fucking ANYTHING on dvd. we would ask about a movie one week and be handed it the next one it was fucking *magic*. it didn’t matter to him that ‘oh this show is only available in the US’ or ‘only on Expensive Cable Network ™️’ or the rights owners stopped showing it for whatever reason nah give uncle greg a week and you’ll get it complete with home printer quality box art and you can watch it again and again months or YEARS later.
ANYWAY this has been related to nothing and i’m sure excited to watch such seasonal classics as over the garden wall this october i sure do love streaming services :)
