something my mum always taught us was to look for the resources we're entitled to, and use them. public land? know your access rights and responsibilities, go there and exercise them. libraries? go there and talk to librarians and read community notice boards, find out what other people are doing around you, ask questions, use the printers. public records offices? go in there, learn what they hold and what you can access, look at old maps, get your full birth certificate copied, check out the census from your neighbourhood a hundred years ago. are you entitled to social support? find out, take it, use it. does the local art college have facilities open to the public? go in, look around, check out their exhibit on ancient looms or whatever, shop in their campus art supply store. it applies online too, there is so much shit in the world that belongs to the public commons that you can access and use if you just take a minute to wonder what might exist!!!

Online Art Store India: Your Gateway to Creativity
In recent years, online art stores in India have transformed how artists and hobbyists access materials. From a wide selection of canvas painting tools to other essential art supplies, these platforms cater to everyone—whether you're a seasoned artist or just beginning your creative journey.
The Evolution of Art Stores in India
Traditional Art Stores vs. Online Platforms
Before the rise of e-commerce, artists often relied on local stores with limited inventory. Today, online platforms provide access to thousands of products from around the world.
Growth of E-Commerce in the Art Sector
The art industry's shift online reflects broader digital adoption in India, with platforms leveraging technology to offer personalized recommendations and seamless shopping experiences.
This article delves into the evolution of online art stores, the benefits they offer, and how to choose the right tools and stores for your needs.
Why Choose an Online Art Store in India?
Online art stores have revolutionized the way artists and hobbyists in India source their tools and materials. These platforms bring a variety of benefits that traditional stores often struggle to match. Let’s explore the key reasons why opting for an online art store in India is a smart choice.
Convenience and Accessibility
One of the most significant advantages of online art stores is the unparalleled convenience they offer. No matter where you are, a simple internet connection allows you to browse and shop for your favorite art supplies. Gone are the days of spending hours visiting multiple physical stores to find the right products.
24/7 Availability: Unlike physical stores with fixed operating hours, online art stores are open around the clock, giving you the freedom to shop at your convenience.
Wide Geographic Reach: Artists in smaller towns or remote areas now have access to the same high-quality supplies available to those in metropolitan cities.
Easy Delivery Options: Most online stores deliver directly to your doorstep, often with tracking options to keep you updated on your order status.
Diverse Range of Products
Online art stores in India cater to a wide range of artistic needs, ensuring you can find exactly what you’re looking for without compromise.
Canvas Painting Tools: From pre-stretched canvases to rolls, there’s something for every type of artist.
Wide Array of Paints: Whether you prefer acrylics, oils, or watercolors, online stores stock products from top global and local brands.
Niche and Specialized Supplies: Items like palette knives, varnishes, and textured mediums that might not be available in local stores are just a click away.
Cost Efficiency
Shopping online often proves to be more economical than visiting physical stores, thanks to competitive pricing and frequent deals.
Discounts and Offers: Many platforms provide seasonal sales, coupon codes, and bulk purchase discounts.
Price Comparisons: With multiple online stores to choose from, it’s easy to compare prices and find the best deal for your budget.
Subscription Benefits: Some stores offer membership plans with exclusive discounts and early access to new product launches.
Personalized Recommendations
Advanced algorithms on online platforms analyze your browsing history and preferences to offer tailored suggestions. This can save time and introduce you to tools and materials you might not have discovered otherwise.
Reviews and Ratings
One of the unique benefits of online shopping is the ability to read reviews and ratings from other users. These insights can help you make informed decisions and avoid products that don’t meet quality standards.
Enhanced Creativity Through Inspiration
Online platforms often feature blogs, tutorials, and user galleries that inspire creativity. Many sites include customer showcases, where you can see how others use the products you’re considering, helping you envision new possibilities for your art.
Opting for an online art store in India is more than just a trend—it’s a practical solution for artists seeking quality, variety, and convenience. Whether you’re stocking up on canvas painting tools or exploring new mediums, these platforms empower your artistic journey like never before.
Let’s dive deeper into the essential canvas painting tools and their role in your creative process.
Canvas Painting Tools
Canvas painting is one of the most popular forms of visual art, and having the right tools can make all the difference. Here are some essential canvas painting tools that you’ll find in online art stores:
Canvases: The foundation for any painting, canvases come in various sizes and types. You can choose from pre-stretched canvases, canvas boards, or canvas rolls, depending on your preferred painting style.
Brushes: Brushes come in different shapes and sizes, designed for various techniques. Flat brushes are ideal for covering large areas, while round brushes are great for detailed work. Online stores offer a wide selection of both synthetic and natural bristle brushes.
Palette Knives: Used for mixing paints and applying textured strokes, palette knives are essential tools for artists who want to experiment with different effects.
Easels: Easels help artists hold their canvases while painting. They come in various forms—tabletop, floor, and portable easels—catering to both professional and amateur artists.
Palette and Mixing Trays: These tools are used for mixing paints and creating the desired color palette. Some artists prefer wooden palettes, while others use acrylic or glass palettes.
Conclusion: Embracing Creativity with Online Art Stores
In conclusion, online art stores in India have opened up a world of possibilities for both amateur and professional artists alike. From offering a wide range of canvas painting tools to providing convenient shopping experiences, these platforms make it easier than ever to access high-quality art supplies from the comfort of your home. Whether you’re just starting out or have years of experience, the variety and convenience offered by online art stores empower your creativity and artistic journey.
By choosing the right tools, such as premium canvases, brushes, and paints, you can enhance your art practice and bring your creative visions to life. The online art marketplace also offers unmatched flexibility, from exploring a wide range of products to finding personalized recommendations and accessing detailed customer reviews.

you spent hours in libraries and in art supply stores trying to absorb the artist tips from books your parents didn't want to buy you. on each page of every "how to draw" is a version of the same four things: this is how you shade a sphere. this is how you shade a cone.
this is what a man looks like. he is hard and angular and jutting. his chest narrows a triangle down to his sharp hip and long legs. his jawbone is a square. he is powerful, imposing, his hands are big and meaty. he is a leader.
this is what a woman looks like. she is soft and her hands tuck her long hair back behind a delicate ear. she is big-eyed and round (but not too round, she is skinny, here is the faint sketch of her abs showing), she is smaller and lighter and pretty. she has thick black lashes and her tits do not come with a massive ribcage to offset the weight we put on her - she has curves, but they are impossibly slim without giving her backache trouble. there is a large red hourglass outlined on top of her figure, the way there is a triangle outlined on top of the man. her face is a heart-shape, and her lips are pouting.
here is how you draw the woman and the man together. the man should be in action shots. the woman's ass should be in action shots. she should fit against the man to compliment his negative space - she should slot into his shadow so when they hug, they become one uniform space. here is how all the other artists have done it, see how good it looks when the man (angles, fire, passion, action) and the woman (roundness, water, emotion, supplication) complement each other? he begins the sentence, she is his ending.
do you want to kiss another girl? that is round-to-round. that is fitting the wire into the wrong socket! how would the faces look together? a single silhouette you sketch and then hide, scribbling over it.
do you want to look like a girl? by sheer genetic happenstance, you absolutely don't look like that, and you never have. you don't look like a man, either, though, do you. you don't feel like you truly belong to either gender, but there is not a "neutral/fluid" drawing in the book. there is male (triangle) or female (hourglass).
but you have a square jaw and square hands and "masculine" proportions. but you have curves and roundness and full lips and "feminine" features. someone online says, definitively, that any form of gender noncompliance is "a mental illness." this comment has over one thousand likes from people who agree.
here is how you shade a square. none of the clothes at the store look good on you, you always somehow feel like you're wearing a weird kind of costume. here is how you shade a sphere. your friend's mother calls the school because she's horrified you're in the same changing room. here is the neutral body figure: it is a wooden man. technically the wooden man is genderless, but that is because masculinity is the default, and everyone calls the figure "a wooden man." you must be small and posable and skinny and featureless, then you can be masculine enough to not have gender.
here is how to draw a person. begin with some shapes. choose the right shapes to get that person's gender correct. do not kiss her. shade in short, sharp lines.
when she laughs, look away.

Every fun post on here that encourages people to have hobbies/be creative always gets an avalanche of "Some people are poor Karen" type reactions and respectfully, you're all super annoying. I've never lived above the poverty line and this is a list of hobbies I have that were cheap or entirely free:
Read books: Go to the library, lend a book from a friend
knitting, crochet, embroidery: Get some needles from the bargan store and ask around, people have leftovers from projects they'll happily give you. Thrift stores also often carry leftover fabric and other supplies. And talk about your hobby loud enough and an old lady will show up and gift you their whole collection, because there are way more old ladies with a closet full of wool than there are grandchildren who want to take up the hobby.
Origami/paper crafts: get some scrap paper and scissors, watch a youtube tutorial
walking: put on shoes open door
pilates/yoga/etc: get a mat or just use your carpet, watch a youtube tutorial
Houseplants: look online for people that swap plant cuttings. There are always people giving out stuff for free to get you started. If you're nice enough you'll probably get extra
gardening: You're gonna need some space for this one of course but you can just play around with seeds and cuttings from your grocery vegetables.
aquarium keeping is a bit of an obscure one but I got most of my stuff second hand for cheap or free and now I have a few thousand euro worth of material and plants.
drawing/art: You get very far just playing with bargan store materials. I did my entire art degree with mostly those.
writing: Rotate a cow in your head for free
cooking: again one you can make very expensive, but there are many budget recipes online for free. Look for African or Asian shops to get good rice and cheap spices.
Join a non-profit: Cities will have creative organisations who let you use woodworking machines or screen presses or laser cutters or 3D printers etc etc etc for a small fee. Some libraries also lend out materials.
candle making: You need some molds (cheap), wick, two old cooking pots for au bain marie melting and a ton of scrap candles, ask people to keep them aside for you.
a herbarium, flower pressing: Leaves are free, wildflowers too, ask if you can take from peoples gardens.
puzzles: thrift stores, your grandma probably
Citizen science: look for projects in your area or get the iNaturalist app
And lastly and most importantly: Share! Share your supllies, share your knowledge. Surround yourself with other creative people and before you know it someone will give you a pot of homemade jam and when you want to paint your kabinet someone will have leftover paint in just the right color and you can give them a homemade candle in return and everyone is having fun and building skills and friendships and not a cent is exchanged. We have always lived like this, it's what humans are build to do.
And all of it sure beats sitting behind a computer going "No stranger, I refuse to let myself have a good time."
Anyway I'm logging off bc I'm making some badges for a friend who cooked for me and then I'm going to fix some holes in everyones clothes.

🎒✏️🍎 weekend activity for littles! turn your house into a school! 🍎✏️🎒
prepare your schedule the night before! what classes will you do at what time? what order will you do them in? write it down! set alarms on your phone for when each class will be, so you know when to switch!
don’t forget to prepare worksheets, activities, and make sure you know what rooms you’re using! if you have a cg, this job is best suited for them!
class ideas: math, spelling, writing, social studies/history, science, art, music, etc!
“downtime” class ideas: naptime, free time, movie time, free draw, computer lab, play time
wake up bright and early! get dressed, brush your teeth, brush your hair, and get your school supplies! go into the room that you’ve designated as your classroom!
if you have a cg, have them be your teacher for the day! if you don’t have one, that’s okay! you can do all of this by yourself pretty easily.
if the room has a closet, use that as your cubby! hang up your bag and any other belongings in it!
get ready for your school day! sit down on the floor like you would in a preschool or kindergarten classroom, and get ready to learn!
ideas on what to do for each class under the cut (to avoid this post being way too long!)
math
print out some math worksheets (or download and do them digitally, bonus points if it’s on a tablet with a stylus for extra realism!) and work on them! do whatever level of math is most accessible to you!
count stuff! count your toys, blocks, stuffies, anything! make problems and equations by taking away items, adding items, dividing items, etc and solve them!
play math games! multiplication .com has a lot of accessible math games, or you can use the flashpoint program to play math games from your favorite tv shows!
ELA
print/download handwriting practice sheets and practice writing your letters!
if you have a cg with you, have them read a book out loud to you! make sure to pay attention, and be prepared to write about what was just read to you!
read your favorite book, and create a book report based on it with pictures and decorations!
do spelling worksheets and exercises!
social studies
practice geography by identifying states or countries on an unlabeled map! start with your own country, then move on to other countries to make it more challenging!
learn about history by watching educational history cartoons!
do a cultural interview! find someone in your life whether it be a friend, a partner, or a family member and interview them about their heritage and culture! if you can’t find someone, write about your own culture!
science
use a store bought science kit and play around with it! write down everything you’ve learned.
make slime or oobleck! there’s countless recipes online that teach you how to make them! they’re both super easy to make.
draw a diagram of our solar system! label the planets properly and write one fact about each one!
art
draw your family! could be your biological or found family!
finger paint!
watercolor paint!
make pottery out of clay or play doh!
make a collage of your favorite things! print out pictures of stuff you like and glue it to a piece of paper!
music
sing along to your favorite songs! pull up sing-along versions of songs from disney movies or karaoke versions of your favorite songs!
if you have any kind of instrument, play it! try to play simple songs on it like mary had a little lamb or hot cross buns!
if you’re regressed a bit older, study sheet music! teach yourself what all the symbols mean!
nap time
take a 30 minute break to nap, or just lay down and rest! put on a soft lullaby or a quiet song you really like.
to make it more “school-like”, nap on the floor! preferably on a fluffy rug or mat, so it isn’t uncomfortable or bad for your back! lay out your favorite blanket, pillow, stuffie, and hit the hay!
play time / free time
just play!!! have fun and play with your toys, your stuffies, play dress up, etc!
if it’s nice outside, go play outside!
draw a picture!
read your favorite book!
if you’re an over-achiever, do some more worksheets!
computer lab
go on your computer or laptop if you have one, and play some educational games, watch educational videos, etc!
when you’ve done an adequate amount of learning, you earn free time! use this to play any fun game you want! (minecraft, roblox, animal jam, fun flash games, etc!)
field trips
(may require a cg if you can’t take yourself places when small!)
take a trip to a museum!
go to the library! find a cool book you find interesting and read it!
take a walk around town! write down all the interesting things you find in nature like animals, bugs, plants, etc!
end of the day
when your “school day” ends, have your cg grade how you did! if you don’t have a cg, grade yourself! but be honest, of course. if you get a good grade, you’ll get a reward!
i know this is elaborate and may seem silly, but i’ve heard a lot of littles say an elementary school environment would be really beneficial to them! i hope this helps some of you who are yearning for that!
